Cam, or California Artisanal Medicine, was founded in 2009 in Colorado. In 2023, they went multi-state, eventually coming to New York. That means it's an MSO, folks. And it partnered with another MSO, which is called PharmaCam, to distribute multi-state.

Top turps are Bisabolo, Humolene, and Pinene. Top effects are energetic, focused, and giggly. Top flavors are ammonia, tar, and chem. THC values are as follows: 20% according to Leafly, 28 to 30% according to All Bud, and 26.7% according to Cam.

As far as this strain, it came to us in a 3.5 ounce jar, which retails anywhere between 40 and $60. And we got this particular jar, a Nucleus Dispensary on 2nd Avenue between 94th and 95th Streets in Manhattan, right off the 2nd Avenue subway. Make sure to pay them a visit, folks. Definitely.

I think we're ready to roll it. We're ready. Let's do it. Let's do it. We're back with the roll. So how did it break, Skip? Well, they were quite big, medium-sized bugs, but because they were very resinous in nature, when we grinded it up, we needed more to fill the blunt and the joint. That's right.

It was very deceptive because when we first opened it, it looked like it had only too little. And we were like, wait, is this gonna be enough? But then it broke big. And so how much was left, Skiff? Not much. Probably left for one more round. That's about it. About it. Yeah, you're right. As far as look, four screens, light greens, orange hairs, small to medium size, supple buds, dusted with a coating of amber tricombs, very light turp profiles, sweet and pungent. Yeah. And it was packaged almost three months ago.

Well, let's find out how fresh. Ready to smoke it? Ready. Let's do it. Let's do it. All right. So, first impressions. Definitely smell the sweet pungent. I could smell it. Mm-hmm.

Oh wow, it tastes kind of fruity. Yeah. The combination of sweet and pungent. Did you taste that? Yeah. That's an interesting combination. It has like a fruit candy kind of taste, which is funny because the flavors it has listed are ammonia, tar, and chemical. I'm not getting any of those. No, this is candy. But then again, to be honest, Leafly also said different terps. So it could be that this is, you know, Cam's own version of Devil Driver, right? Because there was a no Bisabolo, and this one is that's what's leading this one. Yeah. All right, let's smoke it and see how it tastes. Let's do it. Wow. First impression. Yeah, definitely has a fruity bouquet. Like it's weird because the sweet and the pungent together make like a fruity.

Um, I'm not getting ammonia, tar, or chemical. So a few of the uh caveats with uh our research. Uh, first of all, Leafly uh said officially listed Devil Driver as 20% THC. However, if you read a little further at what uh their description of Devil Driver, they also say that it goes 28 to 30% THC.

So they have two different uh uh percentages in Leafly. Uh 28 to 30 actually concurs with what All But is saying.

So chances are that that might be more accurate, right? And that that 20% was just a typo. Uh that's one of the things that we saw. Another thing we saw, like if we look at the at what Leafly said as far as the terps, supposedly the terps listed under Leafly are caryophylline, lemonine, and pinene.

And of course, on the the COA, the main terps are Bisabolo, Humalene, and Pinene. So the only one they actually have in common is pinene. Right. So it seems like this is Cam's version of Devil Driver. So an approximation of what Leafly is saying. Now if we look at all bud, uh, but they say it's a sweet and fruity, creamy citrus. So that's a little more touchy with melon. Yeah, the melanade might be the the pungent part, right? Right. It's possible. So there's a little bit of confusion in that one. Yeah. So that's it. But definitely sweet and pungent.

That's what we're getting out of it. Yeah, very sweet. Melanade, I don't, I mean, it's it's the fruitiness is like candy, so it's a bit undeterminate.

We have tried a few cam products at this point, and they always seem to have a nice fruity taste to them. Yeah, they do. That is true. That's something that they uh looks like they really uh pay attention to. As long as it gets you high, Skip. Right, right. So according to Leafly, it should have been caryophylline uh lemonine pilene. Definitely not what it says in the COA. And you know, as we have come to learn in our many, many pods so far, is that I guess Shakespeare put it best when he said what's in a name, right? Because in reality, a grower could name their strain whatever they want. Yeah. I want to name it Double Driver. It might have nothing to do with the original Devil Driver, and I just feel like naming it Devil Driver. So, and they can do that. We have not found any protocol for naming strains as of now. And you know, if you really far away from what the original strain is, you just put a number on it, right? Double driver number four. And there you go. Yeah, you're in the clear. Noticing that a lot of companies are doing these things. Not complaining, Cam. This tastes really good.

Okay, so I'm in my first third. It says energetic, focused, and giggly. Do we feel energetic? Not yet. Do we feel focused? No. Nor giggly, right? Not yet. Alright, now if I'm looking at what All Buds said, they're saying that the effects are more likely creative, euphoric, and happy and uplifting. Do you feel creative? Euphoric? Not more than you. No, not yet. Happy? Is happy and you isn't happy and euphoric kind of the same thing?

Uplifting. I'm sorry, euphoria, happy, uplifting are kind of in the same umbrella. So if you're feeling one, you can argue you can feel all three. Right. Yeah. I'm with Skip on that. I'm not feeling any of the effects. Are you feeling any effects? Slight openness. Same thing. Spider senses are tingling. But that's about it so far. It's a very smooth smoke.

Yeah, very sweet in the front, but when it gets to the back there, it is a little spicy by the throat there.

And if you're not careful, it can be a choker. But other than that, it's pleasant. So there's a little confusion with Cam. Uh, we do know it's an MSO. A couple of confusing things. First of all, you're called California Artisanal Medicine, but you were founded in Colorado. So shouldn't you be Colorado Artisanal Medicine? Well, anyway, none of my business. Wistful thinking, you know. Uh, the other thing was they partnered with Pharmacan to distribute multi-state. Pharmacan is, of course, the umbrella company for uh brands like Live Well and uh Matter. Yeah, yeah. So uh, and there's a few other brands in there. I just can't think of them over the top of my head. So, you know, they're they're pretty big themselves, yeah. Pharmacan.

Uh they're pretty huge, and they're also a multi-state operation, you know. It's hard not to see them. Right. Uh so I always thought Cam was part of their company. So to read that they just partnered with them is a pretty interesting uh uh difference.

Uh another thing, um, feature with Cam, they're very open about being an MSO. Right. I guess they're proud of it. Um we we we're okay with that, you know. Some companies try to hide that they're MSO. Oh, we're not an MSO. And yes, you are. So Cam also sells, usually retails their 3.5s at around $45, which to us is the absolute limit that you should be paying for a 3.5 ounce jar. Yeah. Uh don't get me wrong, we're not happy paying $45, but we can accept paying $45. When you start getting past that, it's a little bit uh outrageous. Don't pay $60 for an A. It's a hard so you know it. The problem is New Yorkers like to be big willy too much, yeah, that's and be the biggest spender in the room and all that stuff, but you know, sometimes that's counterproductive, yeah, you know, and you drive the market negatively doing so. It's been an okay smoke, yeah, tasty, hasn't lost its flavor yet, never got ammonia, tar and chemical. No, have you ever got any of those? No, it's all candy. So it seems that the all butt description was a little more accurate, which was like citrus, cream, earthy, sour. So that makes a little more sense.

They actually make it a bit more complex than it actually is because it's sour.

I don't really feel sour in there. I just feel sweet and pungent. Yeah, and I can see like a little bit of the grape because it says grape. I I kind of get the grapey part, you know? Yeah, a little bit of the citrusy kind of part. Yeah, has that kind of candy thing going on, yeah. But you know, with a touch of pungent in there, it's not completely sweet. Yeah, it's hard to believe it doesn't have karyophylline because it has that little uh bite towards the end, yeah, you know, but none of them said karyophylline, so where is it getting that bite? Because I know bisabolo is more floral, yeah. It's not one to give bite, right? It's like with the stuff in chamomile tea. Yes. So is it the humolene? Hmm. Could be the pinene, too. I mean, could be the pining, could be the pining. It's starting to become a harsh smoke in the back end. Yeah, yeah. Are you feeling that too? Still got the taste, it's just that it's like a harder pull. Yeah. Speaking of high, how do you feel?

It's I feel it. The high is there, is not a big high. And I think it's because all my senses are focused on the taste. You know, it's like I can feel the high just hovering around there.

I feel like a blanket came over my head. That's like how it feels to me. Um, it feels a little heavy on the forehead, and like I feel like I have um, you know, like those uh Cro Magnon eyebrows. I feel like they're like extended over my forehead. Oh, yeah. So I'm having that feeling a little bit. Uh so yeah, I'm definitely high. I feel like uh cotton-headed, yeah. Uh a little heavy, but uh body-wise, nothing. It's kind of all in the head and the neck. I feel it in the neck too. Do you feel that? Like in the back of the neck? A little tension, like a little heavy, yeah. Like you have a weight on the back of your neck, right? Yeah, that's weird. Uh, but still, you know, feeling high. And it's about that right time because I no, no, I'm not in my last third yet. Almost. This last this last bit is battling, like it's like hard pulls. Yeah, it's like I don't want to die. I wanna live. We're like, no, no, burn. Yes, it's like uh it still has the fruit bouquet, it still has the sweetness, but it's it's like all that and it's still choking you. It's like oh yeah, so it's getting it's becoming a tough poll in the end. I'm trying to remember what humilene is akin to humilene. Humilene is it's another karyophyll. Look at that. That's where we're feeling it. That's that's the that's the bite.

Found in hops, sage, and ginger. Yeah, offers a woody, earthy aroma with spicy notes. Yeah, that's the tough pull right there. It's a humiline. An isomer of karyophyll. Look at that. It's a type of caryophylline. Well, at least we know now what's making us cough so much. It has a unique uh feature where, unlike other cannabis compounds that increase appetite, it helps curb hunger. Interesting. So down to my last third. And uh let's look at it. Multiple effects here. Energetic. Focused? A little bit that I can say. Focused, yes. A little yeah. Uh giggly. I wish you guys, you guys tease me, tease me with giggly. Uh how about creative? I don't know. Or euphoric, I don't know. Or uplifted, which is all the same thing to me. Euphoric, uplifted, happy. Right. Any of those. So okay, there we go. We covered all of the differing types of effects, and the only one we got so far is focused.

A little relaxed there. I got a little bit of a lot of things. We got relaxed, yeah. Okay.

It could be, yeah. It has uh a certain, I wouldn't say magnetism, maybe an awareness.

I do say this though, you you can find yourself in your own head. I I can feel that. Like it's it's like there if you want it. I'm like trying to see if I if I can be like a social, you know, social pro.

You know, on this. Like, am I social pro? And it's like, yeah, I can swing it. I could probably swing it. Cause it's like I'm not, you know, couch locked or anything.

Yeah, and it says uh where at least some sources say that it's an uh sativa dominant. Yep. I got 7030. I you know, I'm trying to look for that sativa, I guess, openness. Because the high is there, it's just not the same, or at least what I would anticipate as such.

We're not talking because we're spending all our time not trying not to cough. Yeah. But it's it's kind of helping it bump up more and more. So Skip, one of the things I notice about Cam, uh I'm not sure if I'm wrong about this, but unlike other companies, they don't seem to flood the market with like a lot of different offerings at one particular time.

It's usually like one or two uh strains, and then one strain will end and then they'll replace it with another strain while the other strain is still running, right? So, like, and then they'll start a new strain. Like, and it's kind of like two strains at a time kind of rotation. Yeah.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong. No, and you're right. That's actually been our experience, and we buy all this weed from different dispensaries, and they all seem to follow that same pattern when it comes to camp.

That it's uh only one or two offerings. And then, you know, one offering will probably disappear. And then that's when something new will come.

I mean, there's a lot of space there that uh you can try to figure out why. I mean, right off the top of my head, I wonder if it's a quality control measure.

True. Or maybe the fact that uh that it's not a subsidiary of uh PharmaCam. If PharmaCam is doing the actual distribution, okay, yeah. There's a limitation to how much they can actually pump out. Right, that makes sense.

It does something to be at least uh, I don't know if it's grown in small batches or what have you, but the way they release it, it seems to have a consistency and quality. Right.

Flavorful and you feel something. Now, that's how far you feel is one thing or another, but you feel something. Oh yeah.

And with that, um, yeah, I'm I just finished. And uh like we were just saying, I feel something, right? So what am I feeling? I am not feeling anything physical as much. I s that neck thing kind of seemed to have succi subsided at this point. Uh, but I feel like like I said before, cotton headed, it's like a blanket, you know, over my head. A little, a little, you know, uh might be a little heavy at times. Uh, you know, I feel it on my in my forehead, in my eyebrows. I feel like I have a core Crow Magnum forehead right now uh with numbness, but you know, not in a bad way. Uh yeah, I'm high. I'm high. Uh am I smacked? No. But I'm I'm comfortably high. Where you ask it.

Yeah, I agree. I'm high. But uh no elevation, no acceleration. Uh comfortable high. Definitely like um, I wouldn't even say uh like a downturn. No, it's not that. It'll keep you where you at, but it's uh fuzzy kind of.

That's a good analogy. Yeah, yeah, I agree with Skip. Now the question now that only remains is how's it gonna do in an hour from now, right?

Let's do it. And we're back one hour later. How did it go, Skip? Well, one hour later, I am not as high as I was when I first finished. Uh tapered somewhat uh at about the 45-minute mark. Uh, but that's a lot to ask for. It was pretty good. 45 minutes of straight high. It wasn't a huge high, but it was very consistent. And of course, this the taste of the experience was the uh how they say the chef's kiss one hour later.

Okay, well, uh, yeah, I'm pretty much on the back end on the post. Uh it was a good high. Uh, and it lasted a long time. I gotta concur with Skip on that. Uh, even the post is still like uh a little bit up there. Um, and yeah, it was uh pretty fun. The hour went quickly and uh didn't really feel the taper. So worked out pretty well. And I think with that, wow, we're all like so uh like low-key. Right? So um to the point. Right, nondescript, like right to it. You know, and no frills.

All right. Well, let's do the rundown. So, you know, we saw this thing, it opened it, um, had some three these buds that looked very small. We were kind of worried that it wasn't gonna do the job. Uh, it did the job. They broke a lot bigger than we thought. Uh, you know, it it was it came with a high THC uh expectation. Um and it had Bisabolo, which was one that we never uh, you know, we don't really get to hear much, and Humulene, which turns out is a type of caryophylline. So that was interesting. Uh the effects said energetic, focused, and giggly, but we also saw side effects that said creative and uh what was the other stuff? Creative and um uh focused, creative. Yeah, it's something like that. It was like creative, I don't know, something like that. But anyway, the point was that we really didn't find any of those uh two. We saw focused, right? And we felt relaxed, and I think that covered it for me. Uh, one disappointment for me, of course, no giggly, and you know, I love giggly, I'm still searching for giggly. Uh so yeah, uh the you know, the flavors were there, even though it wasn't ammonia tar and chemical, it was more like a fruit flavor, and it was actually a very nice flavor, so that made the smoking experience very nice. Toward the end, it got very harsh, even though it maintained the flavor. So, like that's a weird distinction. Because it wasn't that it's the flavor stopped and it became like, you know, a sucking on coal. It was like uh the flavor stayed, but you're still coughing. And yeah, uh, it was great smoke. Uh, it lasted a little bit. Uh, and you know, it it just follows right into like um what's been the trend with the cam products that we tried. We usually rate them around the same place because they have usually the like Skip says, uh the same hallmarks, yeah, you know, which is usually flavor and potency, you know, like and it's not the most potent thing you're gonna find in the market, but it's you know, it it's in there, it it fights for its spot, you know?

Uh, and for that, I'm gonna give it a 7.8. Uh, I thought it was pretty good. What do you think, Skip?

Well, yeah, this was uh enjoyable ride, interesting smoke, especially how the taste transitioned from when it started very fruity to when it went to a darker hue there. That was very interesting. Uh the great taste is is hard to get over, and also the the note, because that's really almost overwhelming in this in this uh juncture here, but it's all very nice. Uh smooth high, very smooth high with more vibe than speed. And that also was very nice. It might lend itself to a nice, comfortable vibe with people that you can trust and chill with. And I like it. Great experience all around. I'm gonna give it an 8.0. Wow, one of the times you actually rated something higher than I did.
