Cam, or California Artisanal Medicine, was founded in 2009 in Colorado. In 2023, they went multi-state, eventually coming to New York. And it could have been that they did it as a subsidiary of PharmaCan or they partnered with PharmaCam, which was what we saw online.

Guava Gelato 5050 hybrid cross between Gelato 25 and South Florida OG. Top turps are caryophylline, limanine, and linoleol. Top effects are sleepy, hungry, and relax. Top flavors are citrus, gas, and berry. THC values are as follows: 25% according to Leafly, 13 to 18% according to All Bud, and a hefty 28% according to Cam.

This particular strain came to us today in a 3.5-ounce glass jar with a full wooden cap. And it retails anywhere between $30 and $50 most of the time. I actually saw it once for $55. Never buy that for $55, folks. If it's more than $45, go get it somewhere else. And this particular jar we got at Bronx Joint on Hunts Point, right off Brookner Boulevard, right off the Sixth Train. Make sure to pay them a visit, y'all. Bronx Crowd Raw, definitely. That's right. Are we ready to roll this? We're ready. Let's do it.

Back with the roll. How did it go, Skip? Well, it broke fairly big, which made it enough to roll the show. One joint, one blunt, and there's not much left. Yeah, just a little left.

We were greedy this time. As far as look, well, on the outside, it had dark greens, brown hairs, and a little bit of sliced touches of yellow. On the inside, neon green and bright yellow. Turfs are mild, sweet, and skunky. Medium-sized buds, very tight and supple. Powder tricombs were like cooked on the bud. Yeah. And this was packaged two months ago. Not very fresh. Let's find out how fresh. Ready to smoke it? We're ready. Let's do it. Yeah, sweet and skunky is what I get. It got that little uh little like gelato kind of after smell.

But sweet with a touch of sweet and a touch of skunk. Yeah.

Yeah, it is like a funky gelato. Yeah, it's not all the way sweet. Yeah, you're right. It's kind of like skunky.

The pull is sweet though. All right. Well, let's see what happens when we light it. Taste that gelato right away.

The carry is present. That's true. Yeah. As far as taste. Oh, yeah, there's a sweetness to it. Um, I can't necessarily say if it's guava, but there is like a sweet touch to it.

They also say uh, you know, guava, gas, citrus. I don't get the gas. Um another side one was uh sour pineapple, but I don't I'm not tasting that either.

Yeah, I'm getting a slight chem, like a chemical taste. It could be the diesel or something like that, something in there, but no guava and uh not much fruitiness.

There's a sweetness in there, yeah.

I'm wondering if that's what the guava is supposed to be. Maybe.

Yeah, because there's something on top of that gelato, yeah, that is like a different sweetness, yeah, like a creamy sweetness there.

And then mix that with skunky and a little bit of chem, and you pretty much got what we have. Gelato. Still not unpleasant. Yeah, no, it's not, you know, though you will feel the carry in the pulls.

Yeah, that is true. This is not a smooth gelato, yeah. You feel the carry, you gotta control the pull.

As you can hear, they're not controlling the pull. So Cam, um, yeah, they're MSO. What do you got about Cam? You got anything there to add about Cam?

Oh, I mean, not uh research-wise. I mean, it's usual, but uh personally, yeah, Cam is always a party. I mean, they're uh most times, and that's uh numbers-wise, because we've reviewed quite a few of them. Really, you open them up, fruity, decent, nice buds, you know, like professional, professional bud.

And uh, we also like to mention that Cam is one of the few companies that is an MSO and is not trying to hide it. Yeah, uh, like many companies are trying to hide it in New York. Um, it's really actually proud of being an MSO. It's like right up there in their website. They say it out loud. So uh and of course, again, uh going back to the prices, uh, never pay more than 45 bucks for this jar. Uh, ideally, you get it for less than 45 bucks, but that should be the cap. If they try to charge you more, don't do it, man. It's not worth it, man. Don't do it, man.

Yeah, yeah, I would agree. I mean, cam is always top shelf and they seem to price their wares aimed that way. But you know, this is a good time of the year where you get a lot of discounts. You know, they're different strains coming in and out of the dispensary, so they're quick to want to get rid of them. This is the time.

And if you are gonna wait for sales, you gotta be careful with your disbo with dispensary because some dispensaries only put sales when it's old product, right? And so you're gonna get some dry, crunchy thing. Other dispensaries, they just put sales all the time, so you're gonna get fresh stuff even though it's on sale. And so you gotta, you know, you gotta learn your dispensary, you know, you gotta make sure you have the right dispensary for this. Okay, it looks like I'm getting to my first third. It's funny because I I don't want to cough on the inhale, I want to cough on the exhale. You notice that?

Yeah, it makes me laugh because actually I was trying to take my time these last couple of pulls to avoid it, and I'm like in the middle of that struggle when you said that.

Yeah, it's like the exhale is what's making me cough, not the inhale. But you feel the carry, it's strong.

Okay, so you feeling anything yet? Uh no, I want to say. I mean, maybe a slight openness, maybe. Yeah, I feel like the spider senses are tingling. So, you know, I feel something, but nothing, nothing, nothing yet. One of the other interesting aspects that we've noticed when we look at uh stuff either affiliated with Pharmacan or under the PharmaCan umbrella, is that they tend to share the strains. So uh this is Guava Gelato OG. I wouldn't be surprised if Matter, which is the other brand from Pharmacan, and Live Well is the other brand. So Live Well, Matter, and Cam, all are affiliated or fall under PharmaCan one way or another.

And it's funny because if you look at a strain that Cam has, chances are you'll find it in Matter and Live Well, and or yeah, before it wasn't always that easy, but now I'm seeing it. In fact, this same strain, this same guava gelato OG is available in matter.

Wow, interesting. I wonder if it's the same exact strain, or is each per each company has its own version of the strain. Right? Interesting question. Yeah, maybe we have to try them back to back. Right. Oh, good idea, yeah. To like compare, learn the buds at the same time. Because if you're buying, if you're buying the same bud in three but different brands, then really our advice to you is just to find the cheapest one of the three. And it makes sense.

Okay, I think I am approaching my first girt at this point. Uh let's look at the effects. So relaxed. Feeling relaxed yet, Skip? A little bit.

Listen, I find a weed that gets me aroused. I'm gonna smoke that every time I'm gonna go into the bedroom, right? It's like that's that's fantastic. But no, I'm not feeling aroused. Uh, as far as the flavors, it's just like this mild sweetness touched with some sort of dankiness or skunkiness, yeah. Touched with gelato, the classic gelato. Yeah, and I guess that sweet dankiness, the combination is what they meant by guava.

Yeah, that's that's very possible.

Yeah, it is, I guess so.

Maybe the carry is so in the way that it makes it almost undeterminate. Right. You have to get past the carry. Yeah, but Carrie here is like dancing in the middle. She's like Mariah. Yeah. I mean, if you can if you can find Cam at a dispensary, that's uh point in the right direction. Because there, I mean, if you're in the know or if you don't know and you go to a dispensary for the first time, like we all experience, uh, Cam is uh I would I could I would definitely uh start there. Would you call them a safe brand? Yeah, yeah, they are at times a little expensive, but definitely a safe brand. Interesting. Statistically, I've very few times I could ever remember getting uh one that wasn't fresh or or too dry. Very rare.

Well, you know, the hope is that when you go into the dispensary, that you know, hopefully you have at least four brands you know well, right? Four different brands. Then you can go in with your first choice. Hey, you got this? No. Second choice, how about this? No, third choice, how about this? No. If you get to your fourth choice and they say no, then they're either selling their own personal, like you know, uh strains. Because some some of these dispensaries do that, like they have their own exclusive strains, yeah, and then they sell that to you like that. Or they don't have a lot of stuff. Because if you got to four different brands and they're like, no, no, no, no, that's pretty rough. You know, the more brands that you get to know and you know, know which particular strains in the brand are good, you know, the easier it'll be to walk into these dispensaries.

Yeah. And you can definitely mitigate all those time-consuming choices and stresses using technology. I mean, nowadays we have a lot of apps available that'll even tell you if it's your particular strain and or brand is available locally around you. So you don't have to waste the trip. There's a lot. I can mention one right off the wrap. Uh, weed maps. Definitely, you can go in there, and if you uh strain hunter, a brand hunter, it'll tell you if it's near you or not. So you do not have to waste any trip to any dispensary. And many deliver. For a fee. Yeah. Nominal, nominal fee. Or a minimum purchase, which is pretty cool.

Yeah. Uh, but we're but you know, don't get us wrong. Um, the marijuana industry in New York State is still kind of in the wilderness. Yeah, still in the wild west.

And there's still a lot of things that need to be uh refined and changed and improved, and you know. So, you know, that's also part of the process of this show is to try to like move those things along, you know, just talking. Soft power, we know we're not trying to fight anybody. But you know, we do have some strong opinions about certain things. Yeah, and uh, you know, we feel like the marijuana industry is not really going the way that it was designed to go, or at least the way the politicians told us it was gonna go. Uh, you know, they're they've sold us a vision of small growers, you know, legacy growers, legacy dispensaries, legacy, you know, buyers. Fair prices, yeah, fair prices, low prices. And I mean, to be brutally honest, we were flooded with MSOs here. That was supposed to be against their policy. Right. Like we're supposed to not allow MSOs here. And um, you know, they just joined with a distributed uh distribution company, a local distribution company, and uh you know the question is do they even grow the marijuana in New York? Or are they importing it from somewhere else? Because technically that would be a federal crime, right? You know, if they're crossing state lines. Um, but who's to tell right? Right.

Well, it's it's I feel like I feel it. I feel something there. Uh, but it's not like you know, rah-rah kind of high.

I feel more like, you know, uh introspective and thoughtful and conversational. It's it's actually perfect for a podcast.

But I have my still full, but I have focus, so that I guess focus is there. I am relaxed. Uh we're yeah, actually, you're right, Skip. We're on the halfway point. Let's do it. Relaxed, yes. Yeah, um definitely uh hungry, no, uh sleepy, no, but focused, yeah, yeah. I actually feel the focused aspect, euphoric.

Well, not exactly, but I mean uh focused and relaxed and focused is there lend itself to some form of euphoria.

There, I mean, looking down the list is a mishmash because none of the other ones I'm getting. No vanilla, grapefruit, tropicals, citrus, gas, and berries more apropos. I'm getting definitely a lot of the gas in the beginning. This citrus, now that's subsiding. Wow, you you want to laugh? I actually got sour pineapple.

Oh, yeah. Oh, that's interesting. Like for a touch there. Interesting. Yeah, that was actually I didn't know. I I have to be honest, folks. I when I read I I've tasted pineapple, like in the marijuana, you know. But when it saur pineapple, I was like, that sounds, you know, different. Different. What does that taste like? Well, now I know what it tastes like. Uh and it's okay, it tastes good.

It's like a uh, yeah, it's a high, it's low key, I I would imagine, but it has this like a lateral magnetism, something going there, and uh, and a focus and awareness.

Yeah, yeah, it's true. You you feel social conversational, right? You know, you're ready to uh, you know, you can have a debate, you can chat about something, talk about the news, and you feel like you're in it, in it to win it. Yeah, as far as physical effects, uh, I feel fuzziness in the frontal front crania area. Uh my face is a little numb, but not too much. I feel it in my ears. Uh and as far as body, no. I can't say that it particularly has an anesthetic effect. Uh, but it does um like it it doesn't make things worse as of now, which was one of the things I read that it might make you feel heavy. Oh yeah, but I'm not really feeling that.

It's a 50-50, but I mean I definitely feel the uh indika aspect as far as the relax. But that aware, you know, coupling that with the awareness factor and like a little bit that's a Tiva. Yeah, that that's interesting to have both, you know. Because I could feel a little bit of the droopy eyes, but at the same time, I can jump up a little bit here. Yeah, like I could jump out of my seat.

Yeah, but I'm high. Yeah, it's uh it's a good feeling, it's all right. Uh at least from our experience, you know, you never know. We might be disappointed in the future. And now we have to uh figure out if it's the same thing as a matter. Right, right, definitely. That'll be new homework for us, definitely. I think the matter jars could be very possible. I could be wrong. Don't quote me on that. So yeah, the high is uh it's connected there, it's calm. Calm is a good word too. Yeah, it does. It has that calm factor, definitely. You're not gonna want to do any dancing. It's I wonder if that's what there's they mean, Mike guava. It's like a piney, sweet. Ah, but that's more like pineapple.

Amazon the square again. They're always on their square. I mean, I'm not a gelato fan, but um, and when I read the the the cap for today's review, I was a you know a bit. You were enthrrilled, right? A little bit, just a bit. But you know, again, they uh when they hit that ball, they really meant to do it, and they did it again. I mean, I'm not saying this is the best, but it's for a gelato, this is a nice ride here. Yeah, smoke, you know, it's not overpowering. That's the thing I don't really like about most gelatos, that it's usually overpowering. This one, no, this is mild. You you taste it definitely, but the not the sweet part of it, which maybe that's why I'm enjoying it.

Yeah, I honestly I think the most accurate flavor I got so far is sour pineapple. Yeah, it's definitely like at first I got this the gas and the like sweet and skunk and gas. Like it was this little combo that was like it's it felt like it was trying to figure itself out. Yeah, um, yeah, and then it became this it changed to like this pineapple, but not a sweet pineapple.

Which is also a first for Cam, because usually when they if they I would venture to say that if they uh start a strain name with a fruit, most likely it'll smell definitely or taste like it here. Not so much. No guava. Yeah, no guava. No guava.

I mean, no okay, down to the last third. Uh relaxed, yes, yeah. Euphoric? We said a combo of relaxed and focused kind of made a euphoric, right? Hungry, no, sleepy, no, aroused, no. Alright, so we're in agreement there. And you're saying that you got the guava gas thing going on. I have the sour pineapple thing going on. Yeah, I think we have it covered. It's a good smoke towards the end. Yeah, flavor profile has not changed. It's funny because we're saying this is so conversational, and now we're like so speechless for some reason. We are definitely high. But it's it's working out nicely. And I guess this means this is a good sign for.

Yeah, it's definitely uh a mellow vibe, definitely. It's a low, relaxed kickback type vibe. Definitely. Not very strong, but it's effective.

All right, well, let's do the rundown. So, yeah, I mean, really pretty. Dark green outside, light green inside, brown hairs, you know, this like powder coating, powder coated uh tricombs on. The sweet and skunky smell when uh, you know, you broke it up. You know, it was fresh, it looked great. Yeah, smelled nice. Uh we're not sure if it smelled exactly like guava.

Yeah, no, it didn't, but uh but there was something added on top there that uh still undetermined it.

For me, it was sour power uh pineapple. For Skip it was more citrus gas. Yeah. Uh but it was it wasn't bad. It was good. Um the caryophylline was strong. Yeah, that was definitely uh a big part of the aspect of it. Uh and you know, the high was really nice. Uh it you know, it it was something that wow, you know, the biggest hallmark of the high, and I guess this is the best way for you to judge for yourself if this is something you want to do or not. You know, we're here for an hour. And I gotta stop saying you know, by the way. We're here for an hour, and Skip and I, you know, you we usually do things, we'll do something, we'll talk about other things, get into other projects, whatever we're doing, right? He'll he'll go do something, I'll go do something, whatever the case may be. But there's always like an active conversation in what's going on. And this is one of the only times where we were almost completely silent for the entire hour. Yeah, that is true. That is strange. Yeah. And now, don't get me wrong, it wasn't an uncomfortable silence. You know, we were doing our own things and and and you know, we spoke a little here and there, but completely immersed in our own worlds. And that went from being crazy social to being immersed in our own worlds. It was a huge dichotomy in the in the high.

Yeah, good observation. I didn't I didn't realize that.

Right? But but now you now that you think about it, right? It was like complete, almost complete silence. Yeah. And it was that kind of thing. It it's uh, you know, that's where the high graduated to. As far as the whole high itself, it was nice, it was smooth, it felt uh like you know, something that they put they put some thought into when they tried to make this strain. Because everything seemed to match well. Um and yeah, because of that, because of all these things, you know, thinking about the price point, thinking about all these things, I'm going to give it a 7.4. And you know, really good. If you can get it at a good price, and I'm not gonna say you know, if you get it at a good price, go for it. Yeah, yeah.

Well, we're like-minded again. Um well, I'll start this by saying that, like I always say that I don't generally favor gelatos, but this is uh a top shelf gelato, if you will. You know, those that you can smoke with your pinky, a very fancy. Mellow high with magnetism, sharp focus. That I did notice. I like that it wasn't a sweet gelato, that I could appreciate, but it and it has that sour citrus thing going and the diesel, so it had complex character in the notes, which I also appreciated. Smooth smoke, enjoyable. It uh also satiates the oral fixation there because of how easy it was to smoke. Good experience. 7.2. That's where I'm at. Wow, that was really extensive. Yeah, good gelato.
