As far as the white grape gelato strain, I have some contradictory information here. What we know for sure is an Indica dominant hybrid of either Grape Kush and Gelato 33 or Grape Stomper and Aloha White Widow. The turfs are lemonine, cariophylline, and mercine. The effects are euphoric, relaxed, tingly, sleepy. The flavors are grape, creamy, berry, and gassy. As far as THC content, our friends at Leavely do not have information on the stream. Our friends at All Bud say 33%. And Platinum Reserve says 29.84%. THC as confirmed by the COA.

How did it look, Skip? Super medium to small size, supple and cotton like buds, very pale greens with fuzzy and furry Auburn pistols, fuzzy trichomes, and a musty dank note. That sounds pretty good. And this particular strain was packaged three months ago.

Nice. Very fresh. Let's find out how fresh. Ready to smoke it? We're ready. Let's do it. But uh, you know, it's um it's a mild turp profile, but it's like sweet and creamy.

What did you get, Skip? Yeah, it's like uh it's sweet, a little honey kind of like pale, but you can feel the the sweetness or the like this wants to be like sugar. And um, yeah, very cotton-like, very fluffy buds.

Yeah, I kind of said uh for me it was like more like popcorn because they were like so fluffy. Yeah, it was like popcorn almost, but I guess uh cotton also is apropos. All right, let's light it and see what it's like. There's a creamy, there's a sweet. Yeah, um, I'm not getting the gassy, and I am getting something that I guess could be argued as grape. Right, that's what I'm trying to determine. It's like that flavor, you you get know what I'm talking about, right?

Yeah, on top of the already sweet that we experienced before lighting, there's now something else present that is like that.

It's a different sweet, yeah. And that's not berry, yeah. And then there's a creaminess to it on top of it. So it looks like grape, creamy, and and are accurate. Yeah. Uh, there was also a sweet, um, but I'm not getting berry or gassy. So this particular strain came to us today in a purple jar. Uh we found out that platinum reserve, they box their jars because the jars have no markings at all, which we think is a bad idea because if you open more than one of these, you're gonna confuse them. Yeah. So don't ever open more than one. Or platinum reserve, just put this a sticker on the jar. Right. So just so it doesn't get confused. But as far as the boxes go, the boxes denote what type of marijuana it is. So, according to platinum reserve, the boxes come in three colors. Um, and it looks like green is sativa, purple is indica or like indica dominant. Green is sativa or sativa dominant, and then orange is hybrid. And this particular strain came to us in a purple box. So they're saying it's Indika dominant, which concurs with what we found online. As far as platinum reserve, a couple of things we learned about Platinum Reserve, like Skip said, it's a subsidiary of HPI Canna in Poughkeepsie, New York. Um, you know, their founders are experts in can and hospitality and cannabis. Uh, platinum reserve, you can find in New York and in Washington State. They make flour and pre-rolls. The other famous uh HPI Canna brand that I mean they have quite a few brands, but um, yeah, the one that they're really well known for is dank by definition.

So it goes to and uh from what we're reading, this seems to be their artisanal niche, yeah, platinum reserve. So this is for the artists and I guess the connoisseurs.

You know, I think about that when I when I read it yesterday for the first time, and it was like, um, hmm, that's interesting. I mean, to compare it to Dank, you know, another well-known New York brand, very ubiquitous, and I'm sure anyone that's had any uh amount of uh dispensary experience has tried a dank.

Yeah, because dank is everywhere in New York.

And I'd be asking myself, or I'll ask you, bro, how do you think this compares as to to dank?

I mean, that this is our teasonal in our very limited so-far experience of platinum reserve, because we have much more experience with dank at this point.

Dank is the brand for us that we never seem to corner all their strains. Like it seems like every time we think we got all their strains, and next time we go to the dispensary, there's like 15 other strains that we haven't tried. Yeah, we don't know how Dank does that, right? Like they must have a huge complex because how do you have so many different strains at the same time?

However, um, platinum reserve is not as ubiquitous in the dispensary, so it kind of seems like it is more artisanal, right? Also, uh, with again, very limited experience of smoking uh platinum reserve, but it does seem to have a little more oomph flavor, presentation.

Yeah, I could say the same. Yeah, it presents a little better than dank.

It seems to the few that we've tried uh generally seem to be stronger than what you would get from a dank product. Uh, we we believe that dank is uh something for freshmen or for casual smokers, you know, it's very nifty packaging, everything tastes sweet or fruity or bubblegum ish or something like that. The smoke is very mild and inoffensive, right? And you know, the high is mild, milder. No, not all of them. There's some in there that'll punch you right in the face, and we love those. Oh, yeah, oh yeah. But uh, you know, a lot of them are also very uh freshman-like, right? And it does seem like platinum reserve as of right now uh is more targeted towards a connoisseur, you know, an experienced smoker.

Yeah, they put I would say they probably put a little bit more attention. You know, the buds are nice, they um they're uh the same size, they're not smalls at all. They're always either medium to large and fluffier. Another thing I noticed about Platinum Reserve that at least with the limited experience we're gaining here, because we've tried a few this week, they seem to be the same. And I have to research this, and I probably should research it before saying it, but I'm gonna say it seemed to be the same phenotype of weed, this cotton-like and it seems all similar. I don't know if if if you I didn't notice that. I didn't notice that.

Uh some relaxation. Tingly. Nope, not tingly, and I don't feel sleepy. So skip euphoric? No, relaxed? A little bit. All right, so we could check off relaxed, it's already relaxing us. Tingly. No, no, not all.

No. So then, okay. And then as far as flavors, we we said we had something that we think is grape.

There's a creamy. I I I know I said that one. Did you feel berry at all? Not much. No, neither the citrus, nor citrus. That was the secondary one that I don't have here. Let me just write that one down. Citrus. No citrus either, right? Yeah. Wow, yeah. That was no wonder. And gassy.

In the taste, a little bit more like chem, a little something there. I'm starting to get like green.

Um, and as you know, we always believe that $38, yay! $50, that's a little too much for an eighth. Right. 3.5 ounces. So, yeah, a little too expensive there, platinum reserve. Let's try to keep it more on the low end.

I mean, I guess they want us to pay for the boxes. I guess so. No, but I mean it makes sense. They're clear, their jars are like totally clear. So I I surmise that the box is to protect it from the light.

Yeah, so far I'm kinda liking platinum reserve. Yeah, they all seem to be at a different, I wouldn't say quality, I'll say level. The taste, look, the taste is the same throughout. I'm still getting that greatness. A little like um, and it's nice, and the smoke has character. Yeah, it's not too offensive.

Yeah, and uh starting to feel a little something. Uh the relaxes there, uh, still no euphoria, still no tingling, still no sleepy, but uh definitely like a foggy that's happening. Uh as far as physical, yeah, not feeling anything, but um at the same time, you know, not uh not getting heavier like some indicas tend to do. Right.

And the numbers here are pretty high. Either way, you know, the numbers 29 as far as platinum preserve, all but is peaking at 31. So either way, 29 to 31, you're heading into uh sleepy zone. Yeah, so be careful. Yeah, going fast.

Are you flying as fast as I am? Yeah, the pulls, yeah. I'm like flying. It's like time for the second effect check. Um, so and we just did it, and we both said no pretty well. We just did it, we did it already, which is basically euphoric, no, relax, yes, tingly, no, sleepy no. We said creep grape, yes, creamy, yes, berry, no, citrus, no, and skip is saying yes to gassy. Yeah, I am not really getting it. So that one's a half, yeah.

Yeah, and it's sharp. The carry is right down the middle, kind of managing it.

I'm feeling the physical effects of the high. There's like a little body numbness that I'm feeling, which is nice. I guess I I'm maybe that's the tingly, right? Right? That's slight body numbness that I'm feeling. I'm feeling it like in my arms and my back. So that might be what they're thinking is tingly. Right. Uh wow. Okay, so that's then could check that one off for me.

Yeah, I could say the same. I do feel, you know, I thought there was an absence of body thing, but what's happening is like more anesthetic. It's like I don't feel anything. No pain, no anything.

Before in the last effect check, I was like, there was no real body, yeah, but now it's like starting to set in. And that's how that's pretty good. Uh, as far as my brain, I just feel like a fogginess. Right. Yeah, me too. It's like a general in my frontal and in my frontal lobe and my you know rear cranial cavity. Just feeling um, just a fogginess.

Yeah. I didn't want to mentally compare it to other ones, other uh platinum reserves that tend to have not all of them, but some have that. This one I don't know. This one's a bit more modern forward, I guess. It has more of like a aggressive or maybe deeper high. I I got a touch of a berry note there.

Oh, you see, so it's coming through a touch of berry, touch, just a touch, just a touch. The next pull didn't give it to me. It was almost like robot testing. Oh, like that, like that chemical. It feels like that, uh, like a duh smoke, duh smoke. Yeah, kinda, yeah. Like that's kind of the general feeling I'm having. Delayed reaction, if you will. Yeah, that's true, like a kickback thing. Yeah, yeah. So that leads to the question of is this good for a social gathering? Probably not. Probably just want to hang out and do nothing.

Uh, which is, you know, pretty indicative of an indica. Never uh so we got that berry, no, for a hot second there. I got it. I didn't still no citrus, still no gassy. The carry is not kicking butt.

It's actually pretty mild. And yeah, just feeling alright. Um feeling high. Not really any direction of a high, just kind of just a fogginess, a general fogginess. Which is a good high.

Yeah, it's not a good high. It's not big, no uh, no speed, no elevation. I mean, no acceleration. It could, it has room for expansion.

So um we can say tingly, and I don't feel sleepy. How about you? No, not at all.

And as far as physical, like uh, my face is slightly numb, uh, which usually happens when I'm high, and I feel it a little bit in my eyes, but that's pretty much it. It's not too, you know, expressive in its uh physical effects.

And for those like myself that are not really the biggest fans of the gelato slash runs slash sweet slash sweet, like candy weed. This one says it's a gelato, but I have to admit that it's not very gelato forward. It's not. I barely feel it. Very true. Yeah, so for those that like it, it's nice because it's balanced, and for those that are not gelato fans, it doesn't have that aftertaste. That heavy gelato present. Yeah, it doesn't have so yeah.

This herb has some of the prettiest trichomes. They were like gorgeous, sitting right on it, champagne colored, shiny, uh pretty.

That was pretty cool. Yeah, platinum reserve does have that over dank. Their buds are prettier, fuller, you know, a little uh more supple, a lot more supple. Haven't met a crunchy platinum reserve yet.

No, not in our admittedly limited experience. Right. But yeah, so far, so good. Like nothing, uh everything looks fresh, everything is pretty. You can tell because the the way they have the jars, like you could see it from all angles, right? Right. So it's like something they're proud of. Yeah, they want you to look at the herb through the jar.

That's yeah, that's pretty uh hey, look at me, yeah, and pretty impressive. The fact that the butt is fresh and there is no moisture pack nor the seal. We didn't have to open any seal. Just open the box, open the jar.

So they do dang by definition, they do 40 tons. 40 tons, right? Which kind of sounds like big bags of uh marijuana, good times uh pre-rolls, blunts, joints, and edibles. Of course, platinum reserve, Drew Martin is um a mixologist, botanically blended pre-rolls. Okay so artisanal pre-rolls. Oh and I look like I just hit my just finished. Uh they have Ruby Farms, which is looks like it's kind of like marijuana infused foods, it looks like. And then they have chef for hire, and that one is a culinary, yeah. That one is the cannabis infused foods one. The chef for hire, and hire spelled h-i-g-h-e-r. Right, right. So that's kind of cool. Yeah. Would you hire a chef with cannabis infused foods and like have them come and make food for you?

Personally, I don't know if I'm there yet, you know, as far as cannabis. Um, I have ingested, you know, brownies and things of that nature, but to have it in regular foods, I definitely would be open to that experience, obviously. But would I hire a chef? Yeah.

How's that high? Yeah, just uh as you heard while I was talking about this, that uh the boat was rocking and it hit the just finished segment. And are you into just finished too? Absolutely. Oh wow, look at that. Yeah, so yeah, I'm feeling high. Uh it's uh it's hard to describe, but I am high. There's like there's a foginess, there's a delayed feeling. Uh and yeah, physically, I'm feeling it in my brain and my cranial cavity, and I'm feeling it in my face. My ears are numb, you know. That's a high feeling for me. Physical, I feel pretty good. Don't feel too tired or couch-locked or anything, but at the same time, I'm relaxed. Yeah, I think that covers me. How you feeling, Scary?

Yeah, this has um it's not a big high. So I tread lightly when I say it's an old school high, but with a modern sheen to it. You know, it's that old school, like general, bubble-headed, not a big high. The Indika-ness, yes, it it kind of modernizes that feeling because it kind of brings you not up because it's an Indika, it brings you a little down. So it has a really deep, like relax factor. So, I mean, I like it because not because it's old school, because old school is general. You don't want to pay a lot for basic old school feeling weed, but this has something on top there. Definitely that brings it.

I'm not getting the old school part, but I am getting that there's something there, right? And uh, yeah, like it's a it's um, it's a it's not easily describable, but it's it's a it's present.

And and it's positive, like it's not a negative force. And yeah, I feel pretty good. I think that's you know, so look, that's kind of if I'm saying I feel pretty good, that might be the euphoria kicking in. Yeah, so we're already touching on three of the four effects, at least touching on them, even if not all the way. Right. And hey, that's not bad. So far, so good. Now, I guess all that's left is to see how we feel on an hour.

How did it go, pro? So pretty fun ride. Um, definitely high. And yeah, definitely foggy. It lasted most of the hour. Uh, at one point, though, I did start feeling the taper. It was noticeable. Not in a jarring way or anything like that, but it was noticeable. Like I started to feel that it was tapering off. And by the end of the hour, I'm pretty much in the pulse phase. And uh, you know, it's um it the pulse phase, you know, uh physically is a little of that like tiredness that you get with Ndekas and stuff. And um I'm I'm feeling some of that. Uh, not to the s not to the level of sleepiness, however, but some of that. What do you think, Skip? One hour later. Yeah, one hour later. I have a question for you, Skip.

Well, because that's where we left off. The problem is that the air in the balloon is no longer hot. Yeah, but I mean, one hour later, there's a lot to be expected. And to ask for one hour later. So I wouldn't hold that against it, of course. Uh, not much high, but a lot of the residual afterburn, like Pro insinuated. Definitely that. I feel the pressure up top, you know, ocular pressure, some body stuff coming back that I didn't feel before. But the high is no longer here. One hour later. But the ride was nice, it was very uh interesting from beginning to where we're at now, one hour later. Okay. That sounds like we're ready for the smackometer. We're ready.

It was nice. I like it. The great taste, all the complex flavors. I like character and the smoke, and this one definitely did that. And the feeling, again, is that old school bubble-headed feeling, not much speed and acceleration, but it was nice. And uh the tapering was also nice. Only thing is that the after at the afterburn is uh is a bit deep. You know, I feel the pressure there. But it's just saying that a party was just here, and for that, I'm gonna give it a 7.2.

Okay, that's not too bad. Uh, okay, let's do the final rundown. So, you know, we opened it and it was like the smallish, really fluffy, almost like popcorn. You know how popcorn is like fluffy, uh like buds, very fresh and supple, dark greens, light greens, amber, some brown hairs. It was powder coated with like the champagne colored trichomes, some of the prettiest trichomes I have seen in a while. Uh sweet, creamy turp profile. It was a little mild, but it was like sweet and creamy. Right. And yeah, you know, it was nice uh looking buds. Uh, they were like smallish, medium-ish kind of really nice looking. Uh, when we smoked it, it was an enjoyable experience. Uh, the it wasn't a harsh smoke, tasted pretty good, had that little grape thing going, had that great creamy thing going. Uh, and they I even hit a uh berry note at one point. We did not get the gassy or the citrus. As far as effects, we felt I felt the euphoric at one point. I can definitely say that. I did, I don't know if skipped it, but I definitely did. We felt the relaxed, uh, and we even argued that we felt the tingly. I'm happy to report that as of this point, I am not feeling any of the sleepy. I don't want to feel it. So, and I didn't feel it throughout the hour. Yeah, I don't, you know, I mean, when it comes down to you know, the final word on this strain, I can just say that it's like a standard and Dika ride. And what I mean by that is that it hits you, you feel the high, you feel a fogginess, you feel like a delayedness, a duh kind of feeling. And then uh, you know, when it starts to do the come down, it gets really heavy physically. You get the stiff neck feeling, you know, and like it it's something that you feel physically towards the end. And usually that's why people do it when they want to go to sleep, because that heaviness that you get will knock you out, right? Um, and so it was kind of like that standard ride. I felt it, it felt like a standard indica ride, and it was a good one, it wasn't bad. So if you like indicas, this might be a good one for you. If you're a casual smoker that likes Indikas, this might be a good one for you. And for for that reason, I'm going to give it a 7.6.
