Flores Farms out of Cortland, New York, on a mission to heal the environment while producing great cannabis using regenerative farm techniques. Began as a backyard garden in 2010, now available at a dispo near you. That's if you could call 20 acres a backyard farm, I guess.

As far as jet fuel gelato, it is a 50-50 hybrid strain of high octane and jet fuel. The terps are caryophyllene, lemonine, and humilene. The effects are aroused, focused, relaxed, creative, euphoric. Flavors, ammonia, violet, flowery, or citrus berry, and peppery. And as far as THC content, Leafly says 24%. All Bud says 23 to 29%. And Floris Farm says 30%. However, the COA says 29.32% THC.

Three and a half grams or one eighth in a glass jar. Average price 45 to 55 dollars. This haul here came from our good friends at 202 Cannabis Company in Garnerville, New York. And uh that's right off West Ramapole Road.

How did it go, pro? Well, it broke slightly small, and there's a couple of buds left. That's maybe one left for one.

How did it look, Skip? Medium to extra medium size, fresh and supple nugs, pale greens, nicely trimmed with short orange pistols, slight fruity, and chemnotes. A mixture of both. And this particular strain was packaged three months ago.

Oh, one of the things about Florence Farms is that their packages come in different colors. And we're a little bit confused about the colors because, from what we understand, Indika usually is supposed to come in deep purple or blue. Sativa is like bright orange, red, or yellow. And hybrid is usually around green. However, uh, we have something that says it's a hybrid and it's in a purple blue package. So we're not a hundred percent sure if this is accurate or not. I think it's better to just look at what they're saying. Right. There's like a sweetness to it, yeah. Musty and sweet kind. It's funny, I'm not getting the ammonia now. Once it's rolled and I'm actually pulling on it, I'm not tasting ammonia. It was a very light ammonia when you like opened it and broke it up. Yeah. But I'm not getting that now that I'm pulling. Oh wow, it has like a very mild profile. What are you getting out of it, Skip? I'm like pulling hard and it's making me cough to try to like get the taste out of it. Yeah, me too. Yeah. What are you tasting, Skip? Not much.

Not much. The um I see what you're saying about the profile that it kind of like um plays with the senses a little bit because when we opened it and and handling it and grinding it, we got a lot of different things going on. We had ammonia, then some fruit, then some chem. So of course I expected to feel those in the taste. And as of now, none of that.

Yeah, it's like a very if I could describe it as anything, right? It's a very light floral. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe violet. Maybe. Yeah, the original sweetness is kind of gone. That I got in the first poll. Okay, we gotta stop pulling so hard trying to get a turb profile. Yeah. Because we're like choking like crazy in here. So Flores Farms. It looks like uh it is a New York company, pure New York. I was trying to see if they sell anywhere else, and I couldn't see that. So apparently you can find them in neighboring states, Massachusetts, near the New York-Massachusetts border. You can find it in Connecticut or in Vermont. But that's pretty much where they are. So they are a baby MSO, uh, not loving their usual retail price for their uh 3.5 ounce. Uh, it looks like their seven gram is a little more competitive. I saw them around 60 to 70 dollars, which means about $10 a gram, which is not too bad. Right. But uh the 3.5s are usually anywhere between 45 and 55, sometimes 40. I saw somebody selling it for 60, which I don't know what's wrong with that guy. Yeah, and uh, you know, it's one of those things that um for that kind of price, you know, you gotta knock somebody's socks off. Yeah. Smoke is very mild, yeah. But you do feel the edge of karyophylline, yeah. Yeah, that's what I was about to say. There's an edge of karyophylline in it, yeah. And you know, it's the main terp, so it's to be expected.

And although it's obvious a gelato, I don't find it at this early juncture to be very gelato forward. No, I don't either.

I don't taste gelato. Yeah, I don't really taste anything. Yeah, same here. I don't really taste anything. Now we know this is not a situation where the the herb is aged. Oh no, this is very fresh. It was packaged a few months ago. It looked incredibly fresh. Yeah. So it wasn't uh something about aging, it must be the strain itself. Also has um had a fresh pack inside, was sealed. Sealed, also good job, Flores Farms. Double uh freshness. Yeah, it looks like uh early on in the early days for Floris Farms, uh, they were getting complaints about dryness.

And it looks like they responded. So now they got freshness packs, they seal it. Um, it looks like you know they listen to their customers. Always a good thing, Floris Farms. Yep. And uh yeah, the one we got was completely supple. There was no issue with freshness or dryness. Right. I always, you know, one of the things I always try to do is I always try to give uh a little uh extra brownie points to a company that I know is mostly New York based. Of course, like yeah, this is a mini MSO if they're going to Massachusetts and Connecticut, but these are all states that surround New York, right? So it's an natural organic process, it's not like coming from halfway across the country, and you know, that's not too bad.

Right. So far, the star of the show is the smoke, it's the most lively aspect. Although being on the receiving end is, you know, cough city.

Yeah, very light smoke with an edge is probably the best way to put it. Yeah. Uh they have a sister company called Head and Heel. Okay. And that's CBD products that they say are 100% organic. They also do edibles and vapes, florist farms. Well, you know, we only deal with flour. So and that they're the farm is a 20-acre farm. Wow. And before they became marijuana growers, it was an organic farm. Okay. And it grew cabbage.

So that's pretty interesting.

Yeah, there seems to be a few uh wares available at dispensaries here in New York that when you read into their histories like this one, they're like um they started as farms, and some you could actually call farm to table.

So it's basically just uh, you know, another cash crop that you're transferring to.

Right. And and with all the experience that goes with it, everything that's pretty interesting. Which is not a bad thing, right?

Okay, I think, I think we are ready for our first effect check. Okay, so okay, the first effect is one that I always disagree with because it's like I've never had that happen to me before. Or maybe I did and I didn't realize it. I don't know. But I usually say no to this effect. Aroused, yeah, no, no, focused, no, relaxed, a little bit a little relaxed. All right, so we check off relaxed, creative, no, no, creative euphoric, not yet. Uh, as far as flavors, ammonia, are you getting that now?

No, um, there's no taste, a sourness I'm getting. I think violet, no flower or floral, no, uh citrus. It it seems like that's where it wants to go. That's where the sourness a deep sour more than citrus. Berry?

No, peppery. Yeah, the carry. You're getting the carry, okay. As for me, um let's see. It kind of does have like a like a floral, a slight floral. Slight floral. I do not get the nor ammonia, nor it had violet for a second early on. Okay. Like before I lit it, it was like a little sweetness. It was kind of like a violet. But that was it. No citrus, no berry. And yes, there's a peppery edge, but it's carry, it carries the main turp. So you gotta expect that. Definitely a carry show. As far as uh effects for me, aroused no focused, no relaxed, yes, creative, no euphoric. No, not not that.

So, what are you feeling? Relaxed, relaxed more than anything, and and a newfound like numbness, I want to say. Feels a bit numb.

Uh nothing in my face, usually that's where I feel it, uh, but nothing there. I do feel a little bit of like, you know, my kinks. So it's doing the indica heaviness kind of thing a little bit for me. But nothing in my face. Usually I feel something in my face. I'm like looking for it, maybe in my brows a little bit. Yeah, I feel like a slight fogginess, nothing too strong. They say 50-50 hybrid. I don't know. Yeah, they say it's like right down the middle.

Oh, well, that's possible as well. Yes, no, that's very possible. I've had a few instances where 50-50 kind of leaves me feeling more in Dika.

We um that just maybe me. We have had experience with jet fuel gelato in the past. Yeah, uh different brands, yeah, but we have. And um, if I recall correctly, we liked it, the strain.

It's one of those higher, you know, high octane strains with a high TAC content, usually, usually, yeah. And um, I if I recall correctly, we liked it.

Yeah, several times across uh several brands. Definitely I remember. So yeah, that was like uh and and some of those varietals were definitely more uh gelato forward. At least two of them were this one, not at all. No gelato flavor at all. No flavor at all. Yeah.

Yeah, I'm like trying, I'm trying to find it right now. I want to see what I said about the other one. Even though it's you know, we it's not good to try to compare between the two. Of course. But if you're gonna call each other the you know the same thing, right? Yeah, it's usually hard hitting. It was a sedative kind of thing. Yeah. In fact, we liked it. Had a domino mask feeling in the face.

Yeah, the package here says 35%. Everywhere else is hovering in the uh mid-20s. It feels like more like the mid-20s to me.

The COA said 29. Yeah, which you know, I could see why they would package it at 30.

It's very close, right? So, yeah, but not quite. At least not in the feels, you know. This is a slow burner, yeah. And I'm relighting over and over again. Wow, I even had to like reset the role at one point. It was like the paper is getting tired.

I've been trying to distinguish things and take these deep pulls, and it's not you know, as we always say, when it has a strong carry edge, it's a lot harder for uh casual smokers or freshman smokers to handle.

Right. This one more because if it had the carry wouldn't be that uh prominent, I guess, if it's shared with something else just as strong. Here it's on its own. It's like carry and sourness.

It's like the number one terp. It's you know, pepper. And you know, pepper doesn't have a flavor, it's a feel right that it gives you in the back of your, you know, your taste buds. So that that causes you to cough or to sneeze.

Yeah, and for a lot of folks, they dig that because you know it makes them feel like they're smoking something, you know.

Right. Yeah, like some people don't want a weed that doesn't make you feel that way. Right. Because it's like, did I even smoke? But you know, a lot of freshmen, you know, they don't like that stuff, especially if they're you know into like the newer age stuff where it's very flavorful.

Yeah, this one will mostly fulfill those that like the uh earthy, you know, skunky, very uh skanky, make you cough weed. Yeah, this is it.

Yeah, the back to basic varieties. Yeah, okay. I think we're ready now for the second effect check. Aroused? No. Thank god, no, focused? No, and we said relaxed. Oh yeah, creative, no, euphoric, no, and still no ammonia, no violet, no flower, floral for you, right? No, you said sour citrus, sour citrus all the way through with pepper, tons of pepper. We both agree on pepper, yeah, and um no berry for you, right? No, no, all right. So for me, aroused, no, focused, no, relaxed. We said yes, creative, euphoric, no, um, I got the ammonia, like I said, in the very beginning. So that's the only time I got ammonia. Never again, so far. Violet again in the very beginning. When I first pulled before I lit it, they had like a kind of like a violet kind of thing going on, a little sweet too. And but now just floral for me at least. Right. Uh, I'm not getting the sour citrus, and I'm not getting berry, and definitely getting pepper. And how's that high? So if you like that bite, it has it for you, okay? Um, the high is like presenting itself. So I see that the high is there, and yeah, it's just like a general relaxed feeling. It's uh, you know, it's not getting out any of the kinks. Oh, okay. If anything, it's accentuating the kinks, which is a weird feature. But you know, aside from that, uh you know, I my face is feeling a little more numb, but not, you know, not in a powerful way. Right. As far as brains, you know, general fogginess. That's kind of where I'm at. How about you, Skeppy?

Yeah, I feel the same, like very, very general fogginess. More like a clear stage, like waiting. Um I guess waiting for the high. But the high is here, and it's um I dare to say the old school feeling because it's it it it's it moves. It's kind of like in waves. Yeah. But nothing too big, nothing big. I guess the the it'll be more to tackle the taste, if anything. That's the big prayer. Okay.

And you know, the carry does make you feel like you're smoking something. Oh, yeah. That's for sure. That's fair, yeah. How do you feel like social-wise?

Interesting. I don't feel like this has enough to bring me out.

Yeah, I don't feel like uh what what do you call it? A magnetism. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I don't feel it. I don't feel it. This is not a social one. Yeah. This is one that you're just gonna want to like chill out. I'm not saying couch lock, right? But like you might not really want to tolerate a lot of people or a crazy crowd or anything like that. Not this high. Yeah, I agree. I think you will be more subdued, yeah. And so, you know, probably best for hanging out at home or doing something by yourself, yeah. Small group of people, and I guess that's where like the creative and focus aspect gets into it. Yeah, yeah. I guess that's possible. I mean, I'm not feeling it right now, but I see where this feeling could lead to you really zoning into something you're doing because it does have kind of a leave me alone feeling. Yeah, it does. Are you getting that? Yeah, it does. Leave me alone, yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's I'm getting that. So there is something to this high, it's not non-existent there. We're not gonna say that. It could be stronger, yeah, definitely. It's speeding up as it's getting towards the end, yeah, the burn, so which is kind of cool. Yeah, it sustained for a long time, like in the the upper third, middle third. That's true, and then now it's like accelerating, yeah. So, you know, if you're if you're passing this around, you know, puff, puff, give at this point, puff, puff, give. Don't don't hold on to it start yapping like us. Yeah, the only reason Skip doesn't get annoyed with all my yapping is because he has his own, you know. So it's like, oh, you could yap all you want. You're not wasting my blunt, right? You're wasting your J. That's your problem, buddy. So last third, yeah, last effect check. All right, aroused. No, no, me neither. Focused, no, but I could see the pathway to it, right? Okay, that's fair. I could kind of because you feel you got this leave me alone feel. So is that argument for focus? Okay, maybe relaxed we said, yes. Yeah, definitely. Creative. I mean, I haven't done it yet, I haven't felt that yet. So neither have I.

But if again, if you have a leave me alone aspect to yourself, does that mean that it's leave me alone to create? Right.

I haven't actually tried to create anything at this point. So and euphoric. No, not enough. You're not feeling euphoric. No, no, no, not feeling euphoric. And usually euphoric is one of like the easier ones to hit. Yeah, but here is more downer effects. Yeah, it's like a more if our I can argue that if it's any of the others aside from relax, the one that feels like it will be, even though it hasn't happened yet, but feels like can be is focused for me. Okay. Aroused, hell no. Um, creative, uh, I don't, I don't know, and euphoric. Yeah, I'm not, it's just not happening. No. And then for flavors, did you ever get ammonia back?

No, no. Now it's just dark, very earthy, very earthy. And the pepper.

I'm getting the pepper. And for me, the floral's still there, but it's like it's of course it's towards the end, so it's a bitter floral. Did you get violet? No. Since the last sour. Sour, sour, sour, sour. No, and you said it's kind of like a citrus, but sour. Yeah, berry, dull. No berry, and we definitely said pepper is number one. Uh, for me, I didn't get the citrus, I got the floral. And it's becoming a bitter floral for me. And number one again. Peppery. Me and Skip agree on that one.

Yeah, just finished. Um, yeah, there's a high, it's slight, but present, definitely present. Uh, more pressure and more feeling on the top there, and like uh anesthetic thing going in the body.

Yeah, I I can say it seems like it's ascending. Okay, cool. Which is cool. I mean, you would hope it would, right? So I guess from here is just finding out, you know, we're elite. Do you feel that? Like if it's ascending a little bit, or do you feel like it's stay just stable for you?

It feels like it just stayed. I don't feel it accelerating it. Um the relax definitely is is getting more and more, more and more relaxing. I think it's because I I was making myself cough a lot.

Maybe it's that. You know, the cough sometimes take it higher. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.

But uh yeah, more numbness in my face. So hoping that leads to more things, you know, a little more fogginess in the brain. Yeah. Hoping it goes somewhere. Let's see what happens.

Well, I mean, the post is not that different from the peak for me. It's actually uh pretty consistent. Uh so the come down is not that different. And uh one hour later, it's still going pretty strong. Now, I say that with the caveat that it wasn't strong in the first place. I'm just saying that it has been consistent till the one hour. How about you, Skip?

Yeah, I agree. It wasn't a big high, but yeah, I could uh still feel it almost up until like 45 minutes into the hour. It felt the same. It didn't even drop the last 15. That's where things weren't left. But yeah, almost 45 minutes of the same low-key, low flying high.

Well, it was an interesting ride for sure, for sure. Starting with the hard smoke due to that caryophylline right down the line, right down the middle. And then the high was a static head high and a lot of numbing. I dare to say old school feel, but that's kind of what it was. Uh, more up top on top of the head type thing, and the numbing body. No speed, no acceleration. Not a big high, but it did stay. And for that, I'll give it a 5.9.

Okay, so we're a little bit different, uh, not too close.

Uh, so let's give it the final rundown. So lime greens, beiges, yellows, brown hairs. That's what we saw when we opened the pack. It was like uh smallish, medium-ish-sized buds. They were a little branchy and flowery, so it was like little flower branches, golden-colored, shining tricones all over the buds. They look really nice. Turps were present. It was like a light ammonia and a floral, which did not translate to the smoke. When we got to the smoking part, ammonia was gone. Uh, in the beginning, there was a touch of violet, like a sweet violet, but then it just jumped into floral for me, which I know that for Skip it was different. He got uh bitter citrus.

Uh, I didn't get the citrus, I didn't get berry, and the number one flavor for both Skip and I was pepper.

Caryophylline was strong in this one. Very strong. So that means it might not be for freshmen or anyone who does not like a harsh smoke. Some people like it, they like to feel that it makes them feel like they're smoking something. Right. Some people don't. So if you don't like that, don't do it. Uh, as far as the smoke itself was aside from the karyophylline being strong, it was pretty pleasant and uh burned slowly. Uh, the high itself was a high, the high was there. Um, and it's you know, it's I could understand what skip means by that old school feel. It was just like kind of a little indeterminate. Nowadays, weeds have kind of a target, yeah. And this one really didn't. Uh, when we went through the effects, um, you know, thank goodness none of us got aroused. Uh uh, but you know, we both agreed on relaxed. We both agreed on you, uh, we both agreed that aroused and creative and euphoric didn't really happen. However, I will say that over the hour focus kind of happened because I got into something and I lost track of the hour completely. Okay. Like working on what I was working on. And so that might also bleed into creative because I figure if you're being creative when you're doing something, when you're focused like that, I guess it would lend to creative also. However, I did not get the euphoric. So focus, relax, creative, yes, euphoric aroused, no. And um yeah, that's pretty much the rundown. So yeah, it was a nice little high. Uh, but yeah, 45 to 55 for a nice little high kind of doesn't really do it for me. Uh, but other than that, you know, taking that part aside, nice high, decent high, consistent. They lasted through the hour for me, uh, but just not all the way up there. And for that, I'm gonna give it a 6.5. Okay.
