Smoking session review of the Black Runtz cannabis strain released by Florist Farms.

Flores Farms out of Cortland, New York, on a mission to heal the environment while producing great cannabis using regenerative farming techniques. Began as a backyard garden in 2010, now available at a dispensary near you.

That's pretty cool. And as far as Black Runs to Strain, it's a Indica dominant hybrid, about 5545 of either Runts and Zgittles with Z's or Black Diamond Sherbert and Runts. It could be one or the other. The turps are lemonine, caryophylline, and pharmacine. The effects are relaxed, euphoric, aroused. The flavors are roast, sage, and nutty, or citrus, sweet, and berry. And as far as turps, leafly says 24%. All butt says 19 to 29%. Flores Farms says 28%. However, the COA says 27.02% T H T.

Well, it broke about even. And um, there was enough for one, but definitely not enough for two. How did it look, Skip?

Well, this batch here has a color range of light to dark greens with short brown pistols coated in tricomb, a slight sweet note, which came more evident to be gelato. It smells more like gelato. So this is a gelato forward strain. Definitely.

I got kind of a little citrusy out of it. And another cool feature that it had was when you broke it open, it turned it was like yellow inside.

This one, this particular strain was also packaged about two months ago. Oh, very fresh. Let's find out how fresh it. Ready to smoke. We're ready. Let's do it. Let's do it. I'm just I it's funny. I'm getting a little bit of a like a citrus kind of out of it, but um not really getting any of the other stuff. Roll, sage, nutties, uh, sweet. Like the citrus may be sweet, maybe sour.

Um it seems to be, yeah, uh full of character.

I see what you're saying about the like a gelato, it's not tasting like gelato. It has like a kind of what's the word I'm looking at.

It's like part, uh I wouldn't say like a facet of gelato presence or something. Yeah, smooth milkiness of gelato, it has that.

Yeah, it does have that. Can that be considered nutty?

No, no, but I could see where they're trying to go with that because it has something that wants to go earthy, but it's kind of sweet.

So yeah, that yeah, that's what I'm tasting. Yeah, yeah. All right, well, let's find out what happens when we uh smoke it. It's true. Whatever that's sweet has like a nutty, yeah, it's true. It does have an element of like nutty kind, but it's hard to describe because it's a little sweetness attached to it, so it's like Nutella. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, it's like uh hard to identify exactly. Okay, so a little bit about Florence Farms. They supposedly use regenerative farming techniques because they want to heal the environment while growing marijuana. They also grow organic vegetables, and it looks like all of this is sun-grown. Their sister company is head and heel, and those are CBD products, and they grow now in 20 acres of what was once a cabbage farm. Uh, and they they do flour, vapes, and edibles, and they also denote their uh types by color. Uh, it looks like green is hybrid, orange is sativa, and blue or purple is indica. Even though I think the other day we had a like a discrepancy in that.

So I'm we're not a hundred percent sure if that's the case, but that's what we read online.

But it seems like the uh the star of the show here seems to be lemonine. That's it's the top one, but also in in spades as far as the numbers.

Yeah, it's weird because I'm not getting rose, I'm not getting sage. I'm not I'm getting a little bit of a nutty, yeah. But then from the other side, I'm getting citrus. Not really getting sweet. There is a sweet, yeah. So it's a combination of the two. So I would say citrus, sweet, nutty. Yeah, and eliminate rolls sage berry. That's so far. Yeah, they do not. All right, these are the ones that we like to do up front. Uh everything is state licensed and regulated. That's exact, that's excellent. Uh, so we're not looking at an MSO here, folks. That's which for us, that's pretty rare now. Right. And if you can patronize a company that is New York based and it's not an MSO, please do so first. Yeah, I would say so. Yeah. Because we need to keep our New York companies. Another thing that I like about Floris Farms is that they're very competitively priced.

You know, you will find some at $50, which is kind of ridiculous. But for most of the time, when I see Florence Farms, it's somewhere in the 30s to the 40s. And that's acceptable for an eighth, you know. So we we like that too. Well, I guess it's like uh Beef Lee said, right? If uh Runce is the hero of the story, then uh Black Runce is the evil twin. Yeah, right, it's gonna have a darker flavor. First effect check. Brought to you by no one, uh, but our first effect check. All right, let's take a look at what they say. So they say relaxed.

Oh boy, our favorite. Aroused. Oh no, no, no, no. It's kind of hard to get aroused when you're sitting in a room with a you know, uh doing a podcast. Um it doesn't exude any type of you know sexiness, cha-cha-cha feelings, you know. So yeah, maybe if we were in the setting that, you know, was conducive to being aroused, maybe it would work. Um, and we already said that it's a combination between the two sides nutty on one side, citrus and sweet on the other.

So that's where we're at. No rose, no sage, no berry. Yeah. The craziest flavor I just got. What was that? Celery. Oh, really? Wow. So this is gonna be one of those. Okay. Yeah, we've had these, yeah. Strains that just jump around in flavors. Like a flavor mosh pit here. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you get us high. Yeah, it looks like Floris Farms uh indicated in their package and in their um that it's uh 28% THC. Yeah, and so it looks like that's what they're looking for. The COA said 27.02. Yeah, they're right there. It's not that much of a difference, right? So it's not enough to like complain about. Like, you know, sometimes there's a slight variation, and if you're like within 1%, 2%, that's not a big deal. I mean, we've seen more egregious stuff that's like six percent difference, and it's like, uh, why are you selling this? If it's off by six percent, yeah, but that's not the case here. Yeah, it's not the case. I agree with that too. Uh, and they're pretty close. You know, Leafly says 24, all butt says 19 to 29, and they're saying and they're at 2702, so they're somewhere in the middle of that, which is good. So this particular uh strain came in a purple or indica jar. Yeah, it definitely is an indica. Yeah, it feels it it has the indica feels. How do you feel, by the way? Relaxed. The relax is getting bigger and bigger, definitely relaxed. Yeah, it's like a big relaxed feeling, yeah. Yeah, and like a slight delay. Yeah, that's a good one. Delay. Other than that, you know, not very strong as of right now, right? Right. But not a wimp either. Yeah, it's not like I'm like, I don't feel anything.

No, yeah, you can feel it here. It makes for a decent smoke, you know, everything is steady. The coughing, yeah, like the the carry is there. Carrie is there, it's not like super in the front, but it's there, it's there, and it it's like gatekeeping from a lot, you know. I'm trying to pull real hard to get more of that TAT, and Carrie is not allowing me.

So it only lets you pull to a certain point, yeah. Without coughing. And then if you're trying to like, Skip and I were trying to flavor dive, so we're trying to get flavors out of it, so we're pulling hard, and yeah, it's not letting us do that. Yeah. So what does that mean? That means that this might not be for freshmen, it might be a little too harsh.

And that relaxed vibe is strong. I mean, I imagine we are pretty experienced, so even though we're at the top of it and we can feel it, I'm sure that some other folks they might be already sleeping. Right.

It's also not a candy tasting kind of thing. It seems pretty good so far.

Uh nice little chill high. Uh, you're not smacked, right? But you know, nice chill high.

Yeah, and I'm definitely not a gelato or a runs guy, you know, in any stretch of the imagination, but this is nice. This is definitely something that I would I would like to just kick back and chill with. Now I don't mind runs or gelato, I like them both, actually. Yeah, I don't dislike them. This is just definitely not my first, second, or third choice.

I remember when runs was like huge, like, and it was all these different types of runs. So everything was something runs. Yeah, remember that? Yeah, that was a few years ago. You're getting pink runs, black runs, purple runs, rainbow runs, uh, just all these different types of runs.

Yeah. Runs and gelato, they have their thing. You know, they definitely have their thing going. They're usually pretty strong. It doesn't take much to, you know, get you to fly a little bit. I see, I see.

Yeah, that's how I feel about this. I'm like pr feeling pretty good. Yeah. Uh so that sounds like the euphoric okay. We could be touching. Aspect, all right. And we'll leave it there. You're not looking for the aroused part. Okay. You can, dear friend, if you have someone there with you that uh can make you feel aroused. Trust me, I look at skip and I'm not aroused. So yeah, uh that might work out for you very nicely. And if that's true, you let us know. Right. Because this is an aspect where you can actually, you know, school us and tell us about it and say, yeah, it didn't make me feel aroused. Holy moly, you know, like yeah, I was ready to kill somebody, you know, that kind of thing. So uh and it and hey, that might happen. That might happen.

Uh any new flavors? No, just the same dance. I mean, it's still interesting, definitely, because um, you don't know really what you're gonna get. But um, again, it's is very well balanced. So yeah, the flavors have pretty much held steady for me, too. Nice to vibe, you know. Definitely not a smacker. You know, if you're looking to get run over, maybe you it this could happen. You just might need more, but uh but it's nice.

Ah, the vagaries of smoking pot, right? We all go through them. Rerolls, yeah, repair jobs. You know, the lip that won't close. Oh man, crazy stuff, right? When the when you make put a tip in and the tip falls off while you're smoking, you're like, holy cra, you know, what am I gonna do with that? You figured it out. The point is, don't lose the herb and get high. Yeah, whatever that means. Even if you have to stop, you have to stop, okay? Save the herb first. How do you feel about this in a social setting? Glad you brought that up. Um, I feel there's an openness. Okay. Now, do I feel like I want to go out and be out? Maybe not. Right. But there is an openness. So I feel like if you know you were going to a friend's house or if you were having company, like you would have a lot of fun with this, you know, be able to vibe together and enjoy that. Uh, but hey, you know what? Maybe you would be able to go out with it. Maybe you can do that too, right? You know, and I'm just projecting because I'm here in the studio.

I asked because I also I asked because I also kind of was dancing with the same question for myself. And um, this could lend itself to it. I mean, it has this strong relaxed thing going, which makes you not really want to do much, but it also has a little openness. So the body might not want to do anything, but right.

The mind feels social, so you know they're gonna have to carry you in the sedan chair. But you would you'll be chatty and witty as ever if they carry you around. Do we do even do our second effect check? I don't think so. No. All right, halfway second effect check. Let's do it. Uh, we said relaxed, right? We checked off relaxed. Yeah, we checked off euphoric, yeah. We're touching on that, and we said we're not really trying to find out about aroused. Yeah, and so are there any other effects that you can list?

Other than, you know, using other ways to describe relaxed, yeah, right?

Or or or euphoric. Yeah, yeah. So we can say uplifted, right, right. We can't say calm, yeah, right? We can say uh one of those kind of things. I I say this from time to time, but just in case I haven't said it in a while. Uh, the kind of materials that we normally use. I normally use uh raw, raw's uh joint paper. Yeah. And skip the skipper here, he uses Dutch Master Punch. Dutchmasters, the OG. And he only rolls the inner leaf. Right. Are you feeling?

Are you feeling but let's just start off like coming from? Yeah, what kind of high this is. Yeah, definitely. You see me like wrestling with that because I'm heading into my just finish, and yeah, there's a high, and the um the high seems I don't want to say low key, low flying. Uh no expansion, I mean no acceleration, no speed, no expansion there. But um it has something, it has a bit of uh openness, definitely. Maybe a little magnetism. But it's nice, not big, but it's nice. It feels cool.

Yeah, that's why I just finished it. How do I feel? Well, I feel relaxed, I feel euphoric, I feel foggy, so pretty accurate on those fronts. And yeah, just a good feeling. A nice high. I'm not super smacked or anything. I feel I I disagree a little bit with skip. I feel there is a little acceleration. I don't think it's going fast. Okay. I think it's more like uh like the Goodyear blimp kind of thing. Like just roll it along, like kind of slow speed. I think that's why Skip missed it, because it's actually going kind of slower.

But it's not a bad thing at all, you know.

It's nice to hang out. Yeah, it's like a night, uh nice to hang out. That's a good way to put it. Wow. I couldn't have said it better myself, pretty much. So, yeah, let's see if uh this hangout feeling lasts an hour or more. All right, I guess that's all it's left to do. Yeah, all right, guys. So we'll see you in an hour and we'll let you know.

How did it go, pro? Well, it was uh pretty smooth. Uh, I think we called it the right way when we said that it was something that would be good in a social sense as far as being chatty, witty, and wanting to be in a conversation, however, not having the social sense as far as wanting to go out and jump around and dance around and do things like that. And that's really what it felt like the whole hour.

Uh, you know, it's just one long good conversation, listening to music, feeling good, uh, definitely relaxed, definitely euphoric. And um, yeah, I thought it was pretty good. Uh, I am definitely now in the post phase. Uh I did feel I do feel a difference, but it lasted a pretty, a pretty good while. So this is only the come down really only happened I would say in the last quarter out of the hour. So that was a pretty good run. But it's definitely now in the come down, and that's where I'm at. How about you, Skip?

I feel the same way, actually. Uh very much the same. Yeah, the experience was the same, and it had longevity basically, and it just started tapering not too long ago. Uh again, the high wasn't big to begin with, but definitely it it carried on through almost for the whole hour there. And right now, I don't feel high as much, but definitely uh the afterburn, you know, a little pressure up top. Yeah, so there's still feeling in there one hour later. Yeah, not bad. Okay.

So Skip, final thoughts. Well, this was uh gelato forward and uh and a nice one. A nice one, you know. I don't really favor, but this one I will definitely do again. It had a great balance. Uh the gelato was not so much in the smoke, actually. It was uh a lot of flavors jumping all around and a nice experience. Um, but the high was low-key, and uh, but again, it was it stayed on, it had some staying power, but it again, low-key. So for that, I'm gonna give it a 7.2. All right.

Um, okay, let's give it the rundown. So, you know, open the package. We saw these uh beautiful dark greens, light greens, lime greens, all these beautiful greens, and then you broke it open and it was yellow inside. It was like this golden yellow, really cool. Orange hairs, it had these crystallized tricones just coating the all the buds downside of the buds. So the all those different color greens were like having an extra shine because of the tricones, really nice. You know, it was like smallish to medium-ish buds, but they were very supple. And the turps were popping for me. I got like a kind of like a citrus-y kind of out of it. Uh skip with St. Gelato, if I remember correctly. And yeah, the smoke was pretty smooth. I mean, the cariofiline, of course, was reacting if you took a pull that was too deep, but other than that, it was uh very nice. We saw that uh at least we experienced that the flavors were a combination of the two different um uh information portions. Uh one said rose, sage, nutty, the other said citrus sweet, berry. And we thought it was a combination of the two, where nutty from one and citrus and sweet from the other. And as far as the effects, like I was saying a little earlier, very relaxed, very euphoric, uh, no aroused. Thank goodness, right? Yeah, um, one that I will add, talkative. Yeah, I think that talkative was one that I felt very chatty. Yeah. Now I didn't feel like running outside and chatting with people, but I like if you sat and you know, sit with me here and have a nice chat. Oh man, we're gonna have a great chat. So talkative, you should add to this. Uh yeah, great run. Um, you know, if you get it for what you normally could find it for, which is somewhere in the $30 to $40 range, I think this is fantastic. And so for that, I'm going to give this a 7.4. So we haven't, we're just starting out with Florist Farms. But man, I I, you know, I can say that uh this one is yeah, encouraging.
