The scariest part about depression isn’t always how loud it gets, it’s how normal it can feel to carry it alone. Zac and Matt slow things down for a solemn conversation on men’s mental health, why so many of us stay quiet, and what those “I’m fine” answers can hide after divorce, heartbreak, or years of trying to be the strong one for everybody else.

We dig into the statistics that stopped us cold: suicide rates, the massive number of men reporting mental health struggles, and the much smaller number actually getting counseling or therapy. Then we get personal, because numbers don’t capture the real moments the ones where you’re sitting in the dark, convincing yourself you can’t call anyone because you don’t want to be a burden. We challenge that lie head-on and talk about how pain doesn’t disappear when you vanish; it gets handed to the people who love you.

We also unpack the coping habits men lean on, from dark humor to grinding through the day, and where that sense of unworthiness can start: childhood pressure, religious shame, and online “be perfect” culture that keeps moving the goalpost. If you’re struggling, we want you to hear this clearly: you don’t need to have the right words, you just need to reach out. If you’re in the US and you need immediate help, call or text 988.

If this conversation helps, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs it, and leave a review so more men can find it when they’re searching in the middle of the night.
