What happens when you find out the night before the reunion that Nick Lachey is ordained? If you're David and Casey, you ask him to officiate your wedding! đź’Ť

This week on He Said, G Said, David and Casey from The Ultimatum take us behind the scenes of their surprise reunion wedding, reveal how Nick Lachey ended up marrying them and share what viewers didn't see.

The couple opens up about why they chose to go on The Ultimatum, how they navigated their trial marriages without losing trust in each other, and the biggest misconceptions from the season. They also discuss Casey's emotional experience at The Choice, the shocking Jebin letter, relationships with the rest of the cast, and the moments they feel were misunderstood in the edit.

If you loved The Ultimatum, this is an episode you won't want to miss.

SPEAKER_02

Congratulations on your engagement and your reunion wedding. Yeah. How did that decision come about? Like wanting to get married at the reunion.

SPEAKER_04

And they were like, hey, Nick is uh ordained. And we're like, what? Awesome. Let's let's get his autograph too. I know.

SPEAKER_02

I just always said when he signed the marriage certificate. Watching the ultimatum, it gives me hives. Like I can't even imagine like being in that and then watching your partner be in a trial marriage.

SPEAKER_06

It's difficult because David, of course, is a very flirtatious person.

SPEAKER_04

Flirtatious is kind of strong. But I was just, I would say nice, warming, comforting.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, okay. Your date with Jebin was pretty awkward, Casey. Were there any other cringy date moments with the other guys? How was the room when Nick made Alex read that note from Jebin?

SPEAKER_04

I'll tell you what, because the first thing she said that didn't make the cut, right? She was like, when Vanessa was like, read that letter, read it, Alex. Alex was like, okay. Oh, it's probably, it's probably just him telling how much he loves me and about his feelings and stuff. We were like, oh, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Was there any behind-the-scenes tea that you haven't spilt yet that you want to spill? Is there anybody it's easy surviving eyebrow raising over there? Is there anything you guys want to spill?

SPEAKER_00

He said what?

SPEAKER_05

No way she said that. Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of He Said She Said.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, and we're back in our LA studio, and we're so excited for today's episode because we haven't been able to stop watching the Ultimatum on Netflix. It's been crazy. Crazy.

SPEAKER_05

Action-packed, drama-packed, all the things you want.

SPEAKER_02

So many plot twists, so much drama, so many surprises, and we have one of the only couples to make it out of season four.

SPEAKER_05

Let's welcome to He Said G Said, Casey and David. Woo! Thanks for coming on the show, you guys. Appreciate it. Uh, you guys are in the thick of it, I'll tell you what. How are you guys feeling right now? How are you feeling?

SPEAKER_06

Feeling good now that everything's starting to come out and move forward.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I feel great. Sometimes the hardest part is literally waiting for the show to air.

SPEAKER_02

It's waiting and then also just reliving it.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02

All over again. Yeah. And seeing stuff that you didn't know you were gonna see. Right, exactly. And then you're like kind of like in separate corners of the house being like, what the f like I don't want to talk to you right now. Look at me. Oh my god. Well, congratulations on your engagement and your reunion wedding.

SPEAKER_05

Yes, congrats, you guys. Newlyweds, newlyweds.

SPEAKER_02

How's newlywed life treating you? Because we're in the same boat.

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_06

I knew I actually saw you guys just got married too. So congrats, you guys. Thank you. Thank you. Um, newlyweds is fine. I mean, we are just it's different for from a typical newlywed, just because we have all of this happening now. So um we've just really been spending a lot of time together and getting ready for everything to come to life.

SPEAKER_04

It uh definitely feels stronger. Our relationship, you know, being engaged is just like you have that it's that ride or die. And being a boyfriend and girlfriend, you were like, okay, I love you, but you know, maybe uh the you don't know, right? Totally, totally. And then engaged, you're just like, okay, we're gonna make this work. Like in our in the back of my head, I know at least it's like, okay, it's the real deal. Now it's time to, yeah. Right.

SPEAKER_02

Because you guys were engaged for like a year, right? Since filming and since it since the reunion, right? A year-ish. Yep. Um, so that's like a healthy, nice, long engagement. Because I'm really curious, like, how how did that decision come about? Like wanting to get married at the reunion. Um, please walk me through that because I'm very, very curious.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, so basically, we have this last year we really planned our wedding in Italy. That's what we both have wanted to do for a long time.

SPEAKER_03

Ravello. Love that.

SPEAKER_06

So the thing is, we wanted to get married legally before the wedding because it's pretty complicated to get married in Italy. Yeah. So we were we didn't really have anything scheduled or planned. So whenever this opportunity came up, we thought it would be perfect to have Nick married.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they were like, hey, Nick is uh ordained, he can or you know, suspiciate you. And we're like, What? Awesome. Let's let's get his autograph too.

SPEAKER_02

I know that's what we said when he signed the marriage certification. I was gonna say, yeah, he's your witness. Wait, that's that's actually really smart. Okay, so that was your like civil before your like ceremony and your whole like wedding that you're gonna have in Italy. That's great. That's I would probably do the same thing too. Like, why not? Yeah, no, totally, yeah. We haven't told anybody either. Our family doesn't know yet.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, nobody. We saved it for the reunion comes out, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I'm impressed.

SPEAKER_06

That's hard to do.

SPEAKER_05

I'm impressed. So there are you guys doing like a fun. Yeah, are you gonna do like a fun watch party and everybody's gonna be there and they'll be like, wait, what? Like that kind of thing. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, how cute. Okay, that'll be fun. I like surprises like that.

SPEAKER_05

So, how long before the reunion did you decide Nick was gonna be the like you were gonna have it? Was it like the week of the reunion? Like how much time?

SPEAKER_06

The day before. The day before? The night before, actually.

SPEAKER_05

Wow, the day before.

SPEAKER_04

We talked about getting married legally in the States before we go in August, right? And then that opportunity came to us. We're like, might as well.

SPEAKER_06

I know the night before we were told that he was ordained, or it's like we like jump when it's time to jump, so we jump.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, wait, you're my kind of people. I'm like exactly the same way. That's amazing. Congratulations. I would probably do the same exact thing. So wait, hold on. I really love how producers were just like, you know what? You have the ring in your pocket at any chance. You can propose whenever you want. Oh, and by the way, Nick Lachet is ordained. Like they really just teed up everything really nicely, I think. Good for you for taking it.

SPEAKER_04

And they told us also they hit us with the oh, it's never been done before.

SPEAKER_05

And we're like, we might as well do it. We'll be the first. No, I love that. So Nick had no idea. Nick did not know.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, not until the day of, I think. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so how was he?

SPEAKER_06

Good. Actually, yeah, he was really good. He handled it well. We were nervous, obviously, so we didn't know if we had to do if they wanted us to do vows or anything. We didn't prep at all. So Nick was very accommodating with how to handle that part since we're gonna do super intimate vowels in Italy. Totally. So he crushed it. And then they also, it's super random, but they had me throw a bouquet to the rest of the girls that were single. No way. And Nick sang a little bit of I do while I was doing that. So I felt yeah, he did. It was awesome.

SPEAKER_03

He sang, it was yeah, that's big time.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, listen, no one's gonna top that. No one's gonna top that, Sybil. So, how is planning going for your Italy wedding? When is that? You don't have to tell us specifically, but is it coming up soon?

SPEAKER_06

It is, it's um less than eight weeks away. In September, September, yeah. How's planning going? Really good. We actually got a really good wedding planner that we love because that's based in Italy, so it's been extra she has made this so much more exciting and more fun for us. So I've enjoyed it.

SPEAKER_05

So that's funny you say that because a lot of people always wonder, like when it comes to destination weddings, like, how do you plan? But we also had a wedding planner in Croatia, yeah. You know what I mean? So that makes it a lot easier, yeah, yeah. So she's on site at least.

SPEAKER_02

But I mean, have you noticed European? I mean, depending on your planner, but I think just European culture in general, it's very relaxed. They're like, oh yes, that it's taken care of, or or no worries, it's gonna be fine. And then you're just like, but is it booked? Like, do I have it?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we get the detailed everything.

SPEAKER_06

There's a couple emails that I have where I'm like, okay, I feel like I'm behind. Is everything okay?

SPEAKER_05

Yes, yes. I felt that way the whole time.

SPEAKER_02

No, there are so many things we found out, like literally 24 hours before or day of. And it's just like, you just have to surrender and everything's gonna be great. You're getting married in a beautiful place, and whatever. Yeah, and everyone's just gonna have so much fun. And no, I'm so excited to see if you're you know, whatever you guys decide to post, it's gonna be absolutely stunning.

SPEAKER_05

So, uh, question for you. So, did your castmates know that that was gonna happen at the reunion? Were they aware?

SPEAKER_06

No, not a single even Haley. Haley and I are good friends, and she didn't even know. Wow.

SPEAKER_05

So are they gonna be in any castmates gonna be invited to the wedding?

SPEAKER_02

Just Haley. Okay. Just Haley.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Fun. Yeah. Fun, fun, fun.

SPEAKER_02

I had a couple love is blind girlies go out.

SPEAKER_06

Um I know it's a little bit more than a lot of things.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, it's fun because everyone's just like you it's kind of like what everyone wanted to happen when you guys all met each other, and then now it's happening on your term. So it's like a really fun, full circle special moment. So you and Haley will definitely have a fun time. So is that what you guys have been up to mainly since season four wrapped? Like just planning your wedding or anything else that you guys want to update us on?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, just um during the wedding, we actually flew out there a month ago to test all the food and everything and loved it. It was amazing. So that was great. We got to see where we're gonna walk and visualize everything, have dinner underneath the olive trees, and we've been just growing our our business. Our joke testing business here in San Antonio. Been growing it, added a new, a whole new business to it, which is TSA TSA pre-check and background checks, and all the government, all the checks that they need for the law enforcement, airport, all that stuff. And then we picked up also CPS and FPS, which is child protect protect uh I said child protective services and family protective services. Um just been growing our business and working hard.

SPEAKER_06

And then two days before we left for filming, we closed on a house that we built.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. Oh, you built well. We just came back, slept on a mattress on the floor.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so that's amazing that you guys have your own business doing drug testing for government departments. Like, once you start getting into the government contracts, you guys like you made it. Like, you're good. And that's also like a huge responsibility, which leads me to my other thing is you guys bought a house or built a house and you have a business together, and you still decided to go on the ultimatum. Like, what about putting everything on the line? That's insane.

SPEAKER_06

Hey, I mean, even though it's still better to know for sure for single fans at the end of the day. Yeah, plus it was time. Obviously, we had everything else figured out, so it was time for the next step. No, I commend you.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not, I'm just saying, like, wow, that's some big cojones. Like, you did it. It worked.

SPEAKER_06

We've just done all that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. So, how did you guys get on the show? What was that process like? Did you apply? Like, how did that work?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, um, they reached out through my Instagram, and some other shows reached out. I always would I would tell her, mention it, and she's like, No, no way. Don't do that, no way, right? So I'm like, okay, whatever. And then this one show came up and never heard of it, never seen it. And she's like, Oh, I used to watch that.

SPEAKER_06

And I sent it to her, and then I thought it was one of the shows that when it comes to a dating show, it's one that ideally respects the couples a little bit more.

SPEAKER_04

So, you can play that role, right? Depends on how the experience goes for you. Yeah, but um yeah, and then I at first I was like, she was all excited, and of course I was like, uh, I don't know if it's a good idea. Once I got excited, it's like you get all excited, but I was like, wait, let me see what this show is about first, right? So we watched it, watched it a little bit, and then we're like, you know what? Let's go see. Okay. Let's go test our loyalty, let's go see what we have, and why not?

SPEAKER_02

Wow. So that I mean it depends on like the the person, right? Like it it can be such a green flag, too, where it's like, okay, baby, yeah, let's test our loyalty. This sounds if this is what you want to do, okay. But if it's like this kind of guy that you're that's like, yeah, I want to go hook up, but it's just it's such a gamble. It really is. But you know your man and you know that it was ultimately gonna lead you to where you wanted to, which obviously it did. But you're right, the ultimatum does, I mean, the end goal is marriage, proposals, engagements, um, versus like, I mean, I've never watched it because for a while temptation uh just reality TV in general would put me in the fetal position. Um I feel like Temptation Island isn't really expecting people to get engaged at the end of their season, right? It's a little different. Um, so I think you definitely chose the right one, which again for me watching the ultimatum it it gives me hives. Like I I can't even imagine like being in that and then watching your partner be in a trial marriage. Like, did you guys um communicate at all during your trial marriage? Because I know a couple of other couples did, they were like leaving around notes.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my gosh, yeah, definitely I know we really didn't have to communicate much.

SPEAKER_06

We obviously were both sending emails for work, so we saw each other's emails, but there was when I he did send me one message whenever we first after the choice, when we first switched our partners, and that's when it was a very reassuring message, which I think I know it's frowned upon to reach out to each other, but it made it to where I felt really confident and comfortable moving forward and not stressing about what David's doing or if he's gonna cheat or if he's you know what's happening. It was just a reassuring message to know I could I got this and can move forward. So I it benefited me doing that, but we didn't really reach out to each other other than that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and to put it in like a better um perspective, it's like that was the first night we were separated and had to go live with those other people that we met. And we don't really know those people, right? We just dated for two weeks and then we're moving in with them, right? Yeah, so I'm very territorial protective. So I was just like, you know, I love you, reassure you, this is what you need. If you need anything, I'm here. But then I also told her, don't tell me any dates you go on. I don't want to know anything about that. I do not care. Um, you handle yours, I handle mine, but I'm here for you no matter what. You know what I mean? Because that just causes more drama. Oh, you're going to this. You I don't want to think like that.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, we want to focus on our own trial marriage.

SPEAKER_05

Ah, interesting. That's really good communication. Yeah, yeah. Because I feel like not all couples communicate like that within the show.

SPEAKER_02

No, I no, like for example, like Jabin literally being like, Don't you dare touch another man. Like, there's it's very telling. Like these shows are such incubators that it really just pushes out who you are to the core in in such a spotlight, and and it can either go really well or not at all. And I think that maybe that's why, Casey, you had such a like caught like a good experience in your child marriage, because you were just so secure in your real relationship.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, because if this was four years ago, it would be a whole different you would have watched a different show. So because it was still fresh and new back then.

SPEAKER_05

I've been there, David. I've been there.

SPEAKER_06

So it wasn't other women or other men that we were really worried about. However, those people would be the reason in the same way, just like you know, the whole experience in general, just experiencing outside of the what you're used to and seeing if it's meant to fit. But it made us really focus on what we wanted to work on for ourselves and our relationship instead of not doing something wrong or him not doing something wrong.

SPEAKER_04

Or you know, then I wouldn't be able to focus on myself. So we just kind of nipped that.

SPEAKER_06

Which I think happened to the other couples, unfortunately. Totally, totally. You think? Yeah, so David, I gotta ask though.

SPEAKER_05

I gotta a little bit. So I gotta ask about these three promise rings, David. I gotta do that. Do you have them stacked now? Yeah, okay, good.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna ask, yeah, they're all working.

SPEAKER_05

So how did you and how what were your what was your like mind frame through that? Were you like, you know what, let's give her at number three. Like, what went through your mind? You're like, let's give her the third one.

SPEAKER_04

This one will, you know, well, it was just big problems kind of just to reassure her, like, you know, it I'm not ready, but I'm halfway there. You know, I'm not, I don't want to give up on you. I don't want you to give up on me, but you know, here you go. I'm just not there personally with everything I've been through. So here's a promise ring that hey, I'm still in it, and you know, I love you and I'm still here for you. It was that type of like just you know, it wasn't year after year after year. It was within the six, seven years of us knowing each other, you know.

SPEAKER_06

So yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So, Casey, did you appreciate that? Were you like, oh, like I'm thank you for like communicating that. Like, I know where your head is at now, I know our relationship is.

SPEAKER_06

Definitely, it was a double-edged sword, I think, a little bit, because at the same time I've known since like the very beginning, honestly, um, that I wanted to be with David. So it was good to know that he was still all in, or what you would consider all in at the time. But at the same time, I would I made a joke about running out of rib, you know, bullshit on my hand, intentionally kind of, and then they stopped coming, and I'm like, oh gosh, what did I say? I was like, oh no.

SPEAKER_02

I can only imagine the excitement when this man is pulling out a ring and he's just like, but it's not the ring.

SPEAKER_06

Like, oh my god, that's great. The first one, ecstatic, the second one still loved it, and then third one, I was like, Oh, cool. Is this gonna be like for the rest of our lives?

SPEAKER_02

I did love it.

SPEAKER_05

Of course, yeah, yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_02

That was also him compromising with like the internal baggage that he, you know, had within himself, but still telling you, like, hey, like, I'm still just I'm I need to work on myself first before I marry you. Um, which is it's it's nice knowing who your partner is, but yeah, from a third party, you're just like, just do the ring. It all worked out though, it all worked out.

SPEAKER_05

Everything has a series, yeah, exactly, exactly, exactly. It all worked out.

SPEAKER_02

So you guys mentioned that one um communication that you guys had before your travel marriages, but did you guys have any other boundaries before you guys stepped in with Luca Monica?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I mean, the biggest thing was we weren't there to uh be physical with anybody. That wasn't gonna make a difference. We would we didn't need to work on that. So we what we wanted to work on had nothing to do with those types of things. So we did set that boundary, just we're not gonna sleep with the other partner, we're not gonna be physical with them, but we're gonna emotionally dive into it so we can work with that person as effectively as we could without having to be physical. So I it's difficult because David, of course, is a very flirtatious person, but um, at the same time, I'm grateful that we were able to set the boundaries like that just because we really did.

SPEAKER_04

Flirtatious is kind of strong, but I was just I would say nice, warming, comforting. You're living with that person, you you're gonna be nice, like you're gonna you you don't want no bad blood, you know. So yeah, for sure, for sure. Of course they could. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I would agree with the 40 side, right?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_05

So so David, you were obviously connecting with Haley and Monica during the dating week. What made you decide to pick Monica?

SPEAKER_04

Um, just me and Haley, just the age difference at the end, you know, after dating and stuff, I just known she's a little younger, not as mature as what I would want as a trial marriage partner, right? So I just went with Monica. She's a little older, more mature, has her stuff together, just you know, something I someone I can see to being with. So yeah, I picked her.

SPEAKER_02

A good proxy, right?

SPEAKER_03

There you go.

SPEAKER_02

Just someone that can actually offer you some growth or learning lessons rather than like kind of teaching a puppy. Right? Okay, well, I don't know if that was offensive. Um but you're feeling very much of her age, but age is the first thing.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I'll always defend her. She's good people, she is, she is. But the age league is one thing you couldn't get over from no matter how mature I think she was.

SPEAKER_04

She's 22, 23.

SPEAKER_06

She was 23 when filming.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and just living with a you know, just it was just a little different for me. I was just like, you know what, it might as well go this way, 28, 29.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. How old are you guys?

SPEAKER_04

34.

SPEAKER_02

And 35.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, 100%, 22, 23, or 34. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Like a 28-year-old, okay, you've dated, or you're a little bit, you know, you can you can relate to me if I'm trying to work through something. 100%, I would have done that. Um, but your date with Gebin was pretty awkward, Casey. Um, if you could say that. But you did handle it, you handled it with Grace. Were there any other cringy date moments with the other guys?

SPEAKER_06

With the other guys, I to be honest, don't I had a date with Idris at one point early on, but the only thing I remember us talking about is the robot vacuum. So no, I remember leaving that date thinking I knew nothing about this person. I have no idea what we even talked about, except for the robot vacuum for some reason. I think we harped on that for a little too long.

SPEAKER_03

That's funny.

SPEAKER_06

Um no. Yeah, so that was kind of cringy. And then my other dates were pretty fun, to be honest. It's just every date with Jevin was as you saw.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, there was that was that was real.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, that was like Yeah, every I even asked him at one point because I kept going on dates with him. And um, so I asked him, I said, What do you what do you think we have in common? And he was like, you know, basketball or David plays basketball, I play basketball. I was like, so we have David in common. Okay, cool. That's a good reason okay.

SPEAKER_05

We have David in common.

SPEAKER_02

That's also a green flag for you, though, David. Like the biggest reason for that.

SPEAKER_04

But she was mad, yeah, but she was mad, she kept getting matched up with him for day after date. She's like, he's the last on my list. Why am I, you know?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, because we because it was good content, y'all.

SPEAKER_05

Good TV.

SPEAKER_06

I know. I spiraled a little bit, and that's the trigger of that.

SPEAKER_05

Yep, yep, yep, yep. So, okay, so we obviously saw you get a little emotional at the choice over feelings like kind of a self-doubt, or whatever you want to call it. What was going through your head at that moment? Like, what was what were you thinking in that moment for the choice? Where are my slot fans at? The wait is over. SPEAKER_06

The bigot, I mean it's hard because we had to be sequestered for so long and then getting out of your comfort zone so heavily and working really quickly with it. I really just got into my head and I started comparing myself and thinking, okay, maybe I shouldn't be doing this. It was just one of those things where I just kind of lost myself a little bit, kind of got lost in the show, I guess, a little. So it was, and also knowing David's dating these beautiful women, all the girls on the show were stunning. And um as a woman, you can't help but sometimes just overthink about that a little bit. And then of course, the fact that I kept going on dates with Jeb, and I was thinking, huh, maybe I'm not connecting with anybody if I just keep going on these dates with this guy. So it just made me second guess myself. Um, and then I, after the choice, I realized that was just in my head.

SPEAKER_02

Totally. I mean, that's a it's a very, it's a very nerve-wracking moment, especially when you're just like nervous, right? That you're gonna be paired with someone that you don't want to be paired with, but then David might have this like really great experience, and you're just like, but I also didn't get that experience, you know, you it wasn't gonna feel like equal. Um, but how would you say you felt like with your overall decision?

SPEAKER_06

I felt good about it. I think while going on these dates, Luke is the one person who we both really early on just set, you know, the precedent of what we were looking for. And we both wanted our partners, and we both were the ones were the ultimatum givers. And so we had that in common. I didn't feel I felt comfortable, I think, with him because I knew that there wouldn't be any weird boundaries crossed or any potential of that, and that we both would were super willing to help each other reach that end goal while still, you know, working on our own trial marriage. Um, so from an early point, we were able to kind of dig into those types of conversations compared to other dates I've had with people. Like you immediately friend zoned each other. 100%. Yeah. That's lucky.

SPEAKER_04

I was like, oh gosh, I was like, when he started calling me big bro, and nobody compared to this one.

SPEAKER_05

Ah, see, there we go. That's what we like to hear from the show. Yeah, yeah, that's great.

SPEAKER_06

I feel like that's the best case scenario, you guys.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it really was like we were very lucky, I think, especially knowing what the other couples went through.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I was shocked when I saw the show and saw everything else. I was like, wow, like watching it back.

SPEAKER_02

Well, we're definitely about to get into that, but at first, I want to know something else with the choice. How was how was the room when Nick made Alex read that note from Jebin? Like, what were the reactions? Did you kind of see it coming? Just walk me through that.

SPEAKER_06

I had absolutely no idea that was happening. I didn't even know he gave her a letter the night before. I was expecting, I was about to be teary-eyed while we were waiting, and I was expecting her to start reading like a love letter, and it was the complete opposite. So I was shocked to see that. I couldn't believe that, especially because the dates with Jebin were all just well funny.

SPEAKER_04

I'll tell you what, because the first thing she said that didn't make the cut, right? She was like, when Vanessa was like, read that letter, read it, Alex. Alex was like, Okay, it's probably it's probably just him telling how much he loves me and about his feelings and stuff. She's we were like, Oh, okay. It's probably just yeah, she said that. So all of us are like, Oh, it's probably just the feelings, but when it's every book in the every word in the book, it just she didn't even read the entire letter out loud, knowing how bad it was.

SPEAKER_06

Apparently, there was more bad stuff around the border. She ex she told us this at the reunion, and that she was basically wanting to be protective of Jebin in that moment, which is super unfortunate, but I think we've all been there and didn't read all of it, and it was still as bad as it was.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, wow.

SPEAKER_02

She was blindsided, gutted, like that's crazy. I wonder if any I wonder if he's shown any of that before they went to the ultimate.

SPEAKER_05

That's a good question. Yeah, I mean, that'd be a question for him. That's a question for them, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god. I'm sorry, I'm still just like relishing in the fact like you have all these cameras, it's the choice, and la la la, and everyone's looking at you, and you're like, oh, he's just gonna tell me how much he loves me and that he just wants to be with me and and to have a good time. And it's just the complete and utter opposite. Ugh, I feel for her.

SPEAKER_04

Vanessa started crying too. They didn't see it, but she was really mad because really upset because how a man speaks to a woman is not like that.

SPEAKER_05

No, I feel like that's one of those like reality TV, like almost iconic moments. You know, I mean, like for this show, like that'll be one that's remembered for a long, long time. Do you guys think Jebin took the experience seriously? Do you think like what do you think he was trying to get out of the experience?

SPEAKER_06

Unfortunately, I think he was there for fun and opportunities, and I think part of it too is what Alex wanted because she really wants wanted to be with Jebin. But I don't, I mean, uh the dates I went on with him, there's no way he took it seriously.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they're there, he's young too. What is he, 21? 23, 23, you know, he's hilarious. Funny kid. Super funny, but just you know, in that little time frame of just I can do whatever I want, spend what I want, live how I want. Yeah, wasn't there for the right reasons at all? Yeah, definitely not the right reasons for sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And then also something that I like to see happen is when a random proposal is just like comes out of the blue because the man just can't be without his girl. Were you guys surprised Edges proposed to Jessica Grace?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, did you see my facial expression when he got up?

SPEAKER_04

I'm like, I thought he was gonna leave too.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I was like, no way this guy is just picking up and leaving like this. I was it was crazy. And then he comes back with a ring. I was like, okay, I can cry again.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yep, yep, yep. That's happened a couple of times, right at the choice, where they're just like, I'm not doing it. Like, I I have to get engaged. What the hell? Yeah, I mean, the push is limited. I feel like it's the only show that can actually take you from beginning all the way to the end. No, love is blind, love is blind as that. Yeah. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_05

Love is blind really does it, actually.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but love, but love is blind doesn't like break you up first.

SPEAKER_05

That's true, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like Ultimatum is it's a crazy show.

SPEAKER_05

We we talk about it all the time, how crazy that show is. That and even well, in Temptation Island, obviously, too, is like another level of that. But like, yeah, it's just it's it's it's uh we always say we respect you guys a lot. And the way it worked out is even cooler, you know what I mean? It's even cooler.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, people tend obviously can struggle in this um, you know, incubator, Haley, Killian, and Ashley and Blake. Why do you think that they struggled so much through this?

SPEAKER_04

I would say I feel like they just kept in contact, was telling each other what they were doing. And one of the main reasons is I would say is that when you're with your your original partner, and then you go with your trial partner, and you start sharing the messages you have with your original to your trial, it starts like a whole hurricane, and that's just a no-no. You're supposed to have that trust between you and that original partner. Don't show them nothing inside your phone, what you're texting to them.

SPEAKER_06

Or if you show them, the problem was, in my opinion, because I understand Haley and Killian just yeah, 100%, and that's valid for sure. But Haley and Killian, when they when Killian started sharing his text with her, I guess trial marriage. So we aren't here to judge that. That's just what they were comfortable with. The problem was that Killian didn't let Ashley know and was still allowing her blindly to be able to say whatever she's saying and not letting Haley know. So I think that was the betrayal.

SPEAKER_04

A lot of the yeah, betrayal, a lot of that. Oh, look, this is what they're saying. This is what and you can't do that, right? Like that's just crossing your own partner for your new partner, and you're just all crossing everybody, just not good.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's tough.

SPEAKER_02

I'm literally processing that right now. That makes sense because obviously, why would I show text messages to this random person that I just met from you that I've known you for years, who I want to marry, unless I'm trying to find validation or to see if that other person can fill the void that I'm missing with you, right? So I can see why they do that to either be validated or to just, I don't know, something. But then that just ends up messing up your real relationship.

SPEAKER_05

So I'll just spiral.

SPEAKER_02

Then your trial marriage is offended that you're still talking to your old. Why do that?

SPEAKER_06

And they all did it. They all did, and Haley didn't even reach out to Blake until it just he started putting Ashley on speakerphone and not telling Ashley that he's she's on speakerphone.

SPEAKER_04

Just a lot of like young behavior that just you'll learn as you get older, right? Don't do that, don't do this, group chat, guy chat. You know, you just you grow.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. And then it's just you're just doing it in front of like millions of people. We've been there. Yeah, yeah, we've been there.

SPEAKER_05

So obviously, you guys possibly didn't have too much contact other than uh, you know, some work emails here and there during trial marriages. Were Monica and Luke in contact?

SPEAKER_06

Not really. I mean, on there was one incident where after a girl's night and guys' night, that she I guess you guys had a situation and and Luke, she told Luke about it where she had was just super upset that night because he was just questioning her, right?

SPEAKER_04

Would you say they were in contact, you know, here here and there for a little bit, you know, but I wouldn't say they didn't go overboard like the other couple, it didn't make a difference in our child marriages. Yeah, it didn't affect us for either of us, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

For sure. Right, exactly. David, you opened up about your difficult childhood and how that was a big part of you not wanting to get married. How did Monica push you to be more emotionally open?

SPEAKER_04

I would say she just was a soundboard for me, you know. She uh voiced to me. I would never want to tell, you know, Casey my burdens or everything I went through because she has her own. So I always thought, like, okay, I'm not gonna put why put my old stress and everything she has to worry about too. But then she Monica made it uh explained it to me as in, like, you know, you love that person, they should love you no matter what. Share those experiences might bring you closer, right? So you know, she was just there for me every time I was talking about things, she would reply very nicely, just back and forth, like, hey, okay, it's okay, you went through that. Well, this is what I went through, and then we just you know just helped me, honestly. A great soundboard.

SPEAKER_02

And is that what you meant by when you said that you found peace with her?

SPEAKER_04

Uh yes, exactly. I was just uh when I would said peace, like a safe place, yeah, um, as in like there was just her listening to me and just allowing me to vent and then giving me you know good advice back. And it's good to be with someone that came with a different uh you know, grew up totally different than me, right? So, you know, good house, everything, uh and getting her, you know, advice from how her parents stayed together and stuff like that, and just it helped out.

SPEAKER_02

Sounds like it was like therapeutic for you.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, there I thought it was therapy the whole I told her until this day is like relationship therapy, this whole experience. Like honestly, yeah, honestly helped it got my emotional side out. I was like always, you know, don't show that emotion, don't fight back, don't uh or don't um you know blow up and get angry or this, that right and don't react and help me open up and work on that emotional muscle, you know. That just to be able to now I can't after the show I came home and she's like shows me little like videos. I'm like, oh wow, you know, I have like that feeling in there before it was dead, you know what I mean? It was cold, and now it's like oh, the little dogs running to the family.

SPEAKER_06

I'm like overly empathetic.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, like I love that. I love that you called it a muscle, an emotional muscle because you can work on a muscle, you know. I mean, you can make it stronger. And I think people don't think of a you know, your emotional being like that, you know, which is really cool. I think that's obviously really healthy because you can make this emotional muscle stronger, which is really cool. I like that.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, also I feel like what he needed was someone just to hear him, and something that we can do without realizing is just trying to give solutions when that's not what he needs. I think that was a big part of it too.

SPEAKER_03

That's a great point.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, well, 100%. And then also I feel like if it's different, right? Like, for example, Blake can tell me something that's bothering him, and then I can give the most amazing solution and problem solve everything, but because it's coming from me, he's more resistant to it, right? Because it's like, oh, I didn't blah blah blah blah blah. But if he can listen into it from another person and they say the same exact thing, he can be a little bit more perceptive to that. So, and I think that's just human nature. I mean, I'm stubborn too, so but I feel like that's just that's also a nice way to break that boundary, yeah. In yourself, yeah, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_05

Anyway, Casey and Luke, you guys are you know, you guys obviously had a pretty healthy child marriage. Did you do you feel the same way? Like, how did you guys help each other, do you think?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I think one thing with Luke and I I really had to work on my communication. I know that's something that I could be very stubborn and just reactive or defensive in communicating with David. We've been together for over five years at that point, so it's easy to kind of fall into that hole. And Luke, something that he was really good at with Monica or that he said he was was communicating. So he was able to help me through that, which I think was the number one thing. And also, I I'm a homebody. I love to be comfortable, I like to do things that I am comfortable in a lot of the time nowadays. And so it helped me kind of get out of that comfort zone of doing things that Luke wanted to do, even if it's not something I wanted to. It honestly made me think, oh my gosh, even though I don't really want to play golf with these phone balls, I wish I was doing this with David. So it made me it opened my mind to wanting to do all kinds of stuff that even I don't like with David because it's what he wants to do, or just being more open-minded about that. And on Luke's end, he really wanted to work on taking initiative in a relationship. And I'm usually really type A and super clean freak and all that. So I just kind of took a step back and let him take that role basically. And it was good to see him make those changes. So it we really benefited from it, I think.

SPEAKER_02

Totally. Well, were there more things that surprised you when you guys were watching the show back?

SPEAKER_06

When we watched the show back, there wasn't a lot of progress in their relationship when they got back together that we saw. So it was interesting to just it was a little unfortunate to see, you know, not much growth, I guess, which they did say there was a lot of growth. And I know we both know that they each worked on a lot themselves in the trial marriages. So I think that was the biggest surprise because we didn't really see a lot of that in the show.

SPEAKER_02

So one thing that also surprised well, something that surprises me when I watch the show is how you guys like you guys meet each other's parents in the trial marriage.

SPEAKER_06

We do. So I didn't meet Luke's family, they were not open for that. Um he did meet my dad, and then David did meet Monica's family, Monica meant David's family.

SPEAKER_05

That seems so intense to me.

SPEAKER_06

Right.

SPEAKER_05

But then you're out there meeting like these families. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Because then you go back, right? And then you had a talk, David, with Casey's dad. How did that go?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, how do you feel that went?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Oh, I love her dad, great man, you know.

SPEAKER_06

Um it wasn't as a scene.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it wasn't like how like how it made it seem, I guess, funny, kind of you know, waiting for my answer. But yeah, love, love her dad, great man. Um, we work out on his yard all the time, help him build the house and stuff. So that's great. You know, we just I'm there to help him.

SPEAKER_06

Great guy, or yeah, but he's very just super, super. Um very blessed.

SPEAKER_04

He's a very easy-going dad, very calm, relaxing dad, slow pace, you know, patience, very patient, which is I'm learning from him too, as well. He's very patient, especially when he's with his daughters and stuff. I love it. Good example of a man for sure. For sure.

SPEAKER_06

It was funny watching that, um, watching him and my dad's conversation back on the show because that was something that was surprising to see versus what how it was in real life. So we just laugh at it.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah. I mean, you'll film two-hour conversation and they'll show, you know, fit 30 seconds. So I completely get how that goes.

SPEAKER_02

And it's funny, it's funny to watch the whole thing. They just can't make it too obvious that you guys had great travel marriages, the conversation with the dad went great, and then you're obviously gonna propose. So let's talk about that a little bit because how did it feel like everything was kind of as smooth as it can go for the show?

SPEAKER_05

For the show.

SPEAKER_02

So were you at all surprised, Casey?

SPEAKER_06

I wasn't surprised about that. There's only one thing that I was truly surprised about in the show, and it was a conversation that Monica and I had.

SPEAKER_05

Well, let's dig into that. Yeah, yeah. What surprised you about that? Let's dig about that a little bit.

SPEAKER_03

Let's dig into that.

SPEAKER_06

And it aired very differently than how it actually went down. Um, but it is to meet the narrative, it makes sense how they aired it, which is fine. But the conversation, what had happened was Monica, which I'm sure if you guys saw, she was wanting him to be a little bit more physical with her and saying she wants more hugs and whatever else.

SPEAKER_04

Hug master.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, he was getting a lot of hard vibes. Yeah. And to me, that wasn't enough. So he I had heard about that, and um, I was a little upset about it, only in the sense, like, if he, if she needs a hug, that's totally fine. He's a grown man. That's not gonna, I'm not insecure about our relationship. You he can give you a hug. This is a trial marriage, go for it. But that wasn't how it felt, at least on his end. So I actually sat down with her and asked her to speak with her to clear it, clear that up basically. I asked her, hey, I heard that you were complaining about him not being physical enough. Can you kind of shed some light on that? And she did. She said all I wanted was a hug. And if that's all it was, totally fine. But you know, if that's what you want, you need to ask for it. He just met you. So he doesn't, he can't read the room that well. He doesn't really know you that well. And if it's something else, it's not fair to push someone's physical boundaries. Imagine if David wanted her to be more physical or sleep in a bed and she wasn't comfortable with it. That is just really frowned upon. You're not going to push someone in their physical boundaries if that's not what they're there to do or if they're uncomfortable. So I really wanted to clear that air with her. Um, and I was definitely being very friendly about it. I'm not there to step on anyone's toes, and I just wanted to kind of hear her side of it. So it's funny how it shows where I'm I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. So it definitely gave them some room to act like I'm worried about what David's worrying with me and stuff. So it's funny how it plays out. But I was caught off guard because I thought that conversation went well. And come to find out in her interview, she said that after talking to me, I'm insecure. And I don't understand. I still, I actually brought that up at the reunion and didn't get an answer.

SPEAKER_03

Deflected.

SPEAKER_06

I don't really understand what she meant by that when I'm telling her to ask for more hugs and to get what she needs if it's not pressing these boundaries. I'm not insecure in this relationship, so I don't know where that came about or why she said that. I still don't know.

SPEAKER_04

And mind this, I'm sleeping on the couch every day. Mind this, you know, there's certain things I never, you know, only got into bed when we had to do those interviews. You know, only there's certain boundaries that I had too as well. So it was just weird.

SPEAKER_06

It's a weird little situation. I still don't it doesn't actually logically make sense. I told her maybe you got me being curious or my emotions confused with being insecure, but that's not at all the the situation. I was never worried about Monica. Um, I was worried about not having David in the end, if that makes sense.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. No, I feel like it was a cover-up, it wasn't hugs or hands. Right. That yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, I feel like I'm pretty good at reading in between the lines. So someone's like asking for more hugs and all of that. I feel like that is her wanting to feel like, oh, I'm wanted outside of my relationship. But then also, that was the one boundary you guys had. Like, and then for you guys to cover all your bases from like A to Z, and then that be your one boundary, you're like, no, I know that that's not what that was at all. And if anything, I was a mature human to come to you and speak to you about it rather than A, lashing out at my partner and B, accusing you of anything. So the way that she's reacting is just I feel like it's more of like a I feel like she's embarrassed. We can irritate it. I don't care. Because, like, come on, like if I'm asking, we've all been there. If I'm asking for hugs from a guy, it's because I think he's cute and I want him to think I'm cute.

SPEAKER_06

I know, especially because. Because their dates were very intimate already. Like they were very touchy filling in these dates, dancing and and yoga and all these. It just compared to other dates, there was way more touching. So it was I was shocked.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Gotcha. So so David, let's go back to that uh proposal. What was going through your head for the proposal? Were you nervous? Were you anxious? Were you excited? What was going through your head?

SPEAKER_04

Um, at that point, it was a lot of growth. So towards the end, Ultimatum Day was just like, wow, I'm ready. Like, let's get this. I should have made this long time ago. You know, I'm excited. Of course, I was nervous, sweating like crazy. I'm a sweater, so I was just dripping. It was beautiful though. It was great. I was ready. Yeah. For sure.

SPEAKER_05

That's awesome. I remember when I when I proposed to G, like obviously, I knew she was gonna say yes. I knew we were in a good spot. We had a damn child together. And yet I was still so nervous. Like, I was so nervous, I couldn't believe why. I just to this day, it was it was it's funny to think back.

SPEAKER_02

I love you and it's still a monumental type of thing. Yeah, yeah, it's a very yeah, it's like your your life's about to change, but I really think it's adorable because when as soon as he was like, I'm a sweater, and he goes, Yeah, me too. I didn't think about our proposal. I thought you were gonna talk about proposing to Becca, and you're like in the town, like, yeah, sweat.

unknown

True.

SPEAKER_05

And you know what's so funny is I would this is really sad to say, and I'm joking mostly, but our wedding was so hot.

SPEAKER_02

So hot.

SPEAKER_05

We were waiting, we were waiting, you know. G was running a little late. I was sitting there waiting in the beating sun in my tucks. I'm like, oh my god, where's my towel? I was like, this is the Maldives all over again. I was like, I'm gonna get roasted like every yeah, I was I was sweating so bad. I don't think anyone's made that engagement. No, not yet. No, that was just yeah, just me. It was all in my head. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um, but were you guys surprised that all the other couples ended up getting engaged too?

SPEAKER_06

It was. I was surprised about a few of them, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, every single one of them, I was surprised for sure.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, wow, yeah. Well, this is this one of the first seasons where all of them have got engaged. I want to say. Yeah, sure.

SPEAKER_06

Maybe, I think so, actually.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we were surprised.

SPEAKER_06

Oh my god. I mean, especially with how things played out, it didn't really make sense.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. We filmed for two and a half months and only eight episodes of nine episodes coming out. You know, it's just like whoa.

SPEAKER_05

I didn't realize that long of a film either. That's a long film, especially for nowadays.

SPEAKER_04

In Vegas, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Wow.

SPEAKER_02

In Vegas, you guys weren't able to go back to your jobs.

SPEAKER_04

We own a business, yeah. Actually, so we have an employee, we hired an employee.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, okay, great. Because I got fired after six weeks. So do you?

SPEAKER_04

So that's why I'm asking.

SPEAKER_02

And I was in the city, and I went back to my job.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I can't fire her. Touche.

SPEAKER_01

Like, she's got half the share. Is that clear?

SPEAKER_05

So what do you what uh what relationship do you think surprised you the most as far as like getting engaged?

SPEAKER_06

Ashley and Killian for sure. I was surprised about that. I I was hoping Ashley, because I got along with Ashley pretty well. And we had multiple girls' nights and cocktail nights and things like that. So I actually got to know her pretty well. And I was really hoping that she wouldn't get engaged to him just because they had a lot of growth they had to work through after the show, even so, which is why they're not together anymore. But I felt that with Ashley and Killian. Blake and Haley, too. I don't think that they I wish that they wouldn't have gotten engaged. Same thing, they're not together anymore. So that was another one of those couples I was surprised about. But happy for in the moment, just you when you see as an outsider, you have to totally different perspective, different opinion for us, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, for sure, for sure. So let's go back to the reunion. Let's stay back to the reunion a little bit. Uh did you know that you and then Luke and Monica were the only couples that were still together going into it? Did you know before the reunion?

SPEAKER_02

You did.

SPEAKER_05

I did. Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_02

We did, yeah. So, what was the biggest shock for each of you at the reunion?

SPEAKER_04

Um, I would say when I made that comment, when I made that comment, oh, you better treat it right if you want to walk again.

SPEAKER_06

Luke was pissed about that.

SPEAKER_04

And then Luke was like, You threatened my life. I was like, bro, that's not even a threat. That's not even that's just reassuring my woman, you know. Yeah, that's something you should have done for yours, but you didn't, you know. I had to let him know that. But I also told him, you know, I apologize if I if I made you feel that way, not my attention. Okay. But, you know, I'll disrespect her.

SPEAKER_06

I was and he it was very clearly a joke, too. That's why everyone laughed, but I was surprised he spoke up, which I'm glad he did. If he felt some type of way he has every right to say something and they worked through it. I was surprised that he was, and maybe Monica and Luke talked about this privately, but he was very disappointed in how flirty David was. But at the same time, what I was it's like there both of them were, and nothing.

SPEAKER_04

I was like two-way street. Like, what's going on? Like he was just like, Yeah, he's David was super flirty. I was like, flirty, but that was with your woman. Like that was your they both were, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, there's two people in these conversations in in this child marriage, so it wasn't just him being flirty and her being standoffish. That's not at all what I was doing.

SPEAKER_04

I don't think it was really that much that flirty, right?

SPEAKER_06

Um agree to disagree to the presentation.

SPEAKER_05

Hey, listen, David, I'm a I'm a flirtatious guy too. I don't mean anything by it, but like I'm I'm friendly, I'm a people pleaser, like I'm the same way. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

My and my love language is literally compliments. Like, I I'll call everyone darling and things like dad and like baby. So like I feel like I feel like you guys matched based off of like your personality types, and it if that's how you guys are like in your relationship, then maybe you know, outside of it, that's kind of how you guys can communicate. I mean, that's between you guys, but I do like the comment. I feel like the comment kind of offset that too, especially, you know, like just giving Casey that validation. And if Luca's offended, okay, okay, I'm sorry, I I I I I threatened you, bro. I would have done the same thing. I would have literally realized, ha ha ha ha, you better watch yourself. Of course, of course.

SPEAKER_04

And that's like our sense of humor too, to like if we feel good, then we that's how we communicate, right? So yeah, I know totally.

SPEAKER_02

So, what would you guys say was your biggest takeaway from your ultimatum experience other than getting married? Yeah, other than actually being married.

SPEAKER_04

I would say the biggest thing that helped me a lot with that answer at the end of the day was um the way we were able to fight and argue, but resolve it in a lot in a healthy way. You know, we learned how to we learned how to fight with each other, which was the biggest problem before the communication, right? But now it's just like, okay, we can fight with each other, whatever, whatever. I love you two, but yeah, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_06

Like before there was no solution when we would argue.

SPEAKER_04

It was just like, yeah.

SPEAKER_06

And I I agree, that's one of the biggest things because it also gives you, you know, that no matter how it's one situation is or how it is in your relationship, you know at this point now that we can work through that and we don't have to be like that all the time, or it's not something that we have to just settle with, because that's what we thought before. We just thought, okay, that's my personality, it's your personality, we butt heads when we argue. That's just something we accept with each other and we'll move forward. But through this process, we learned that you don't actually have to accept that and you can work on that. And then because both of us were so willing. Now, if we do have arguments, it's that we hear each other when we argue instead of just responding to each other, and it it's made a big difference, massive difference.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I love that. I love that that saying of like because some people like don't think you should fight, but like fighting's healthy if you do it in the right way. So, like you said, you like you've learned how to fight. That's kind of I like that like that a lot.

SPEAKER_04

Everyone, I feel like everyone's gonna argue, you live with them forever. Like, yeah, you're gonna fight and argue, it's passionate.

SPEAKER_05

You have so much passion for each other, so it's hard not to the second you stop fighting, is when you should be worried. That's what I always say. 100%.

SPEAKER_02

Would you recommend this show for other couples like that are struggling with commitment? Honestly, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Um, couples, yeah, I would say yes, but couples that are ready or letters it's hard to say.

SPEAKER_06

If they're secure in their relationship and they're only and they're struggling with commitment, then yes, I think it's good for any couple that is secure in their relationship. If they're not secure with each other or any scenarios or with other people, I would not recommend it, or else it's gonna end up like the other couples where you're not focused on what you're there to focus on. You're instead focused on what the other person's doing or anything like that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I recommend it. I think it's an awesome show. Like I said, I thought it was therapy the whole every day. We woke up from 9 a.m., 8 a.m. film, you know, six days until 1 a.m.

SPEAKER_06

sometimes it was just you talk about things that you never would have normally talked about in your everyday life, so it's very therapeutic.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, very therapeutic. All these shows can be very therapeutic. So is there any behind-the-scenes tea that you haven't spilt yet that you want to spill? Is there anything some eyebrow raising over there? Is there anything you guys want to spill?

SPEAKER_06

Oh, is there anything you want to spill?

SPEAKER_05

Is there anything you want to spill?

SPEAKER_06

Well, there's nothing I really want to spill. The behind the scenes, it's interesting because we lived it with these people, and Haley and I got really close after the show. So we are really, really good friends now. And so learning about behind the scenes with those other couples is shocking, and then the unfortunate thing of how people are edited and all of that. There is so much that isn't shown that was so chaotic behind the scenes, it's actually wild.

SPEAKER_02

Totally. No, yeah, yeah, and then also just like the aftermath, too, where it's like sometimes you think even though that was crazy, you kind of leave it off being like, Well, you know, we'll always be like family because we went through this and it's a trauma bond and all this. And then as soon as it comes out, a lot of dynamics change because of the edits, and because of this, and because of that. So that's also something that I've experienced.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I'll say I always say with these shows, there's always like four phases. It's like you film, then there's that time between filming and airing, and then airing, and then after airing, because that after airing, everything can change because those I those in-the-moment interviews that you do sometimes they can say something you don't like, or you say something, and it's a lot. There's a lot of different relationships.

SPEAKER_02

You don't know how people are gonna react or what they start saying in interviews, and then you're just like, Well, I'm gonna tell what you did. Oh, yeah, I'm gonna go on he said she said and scrap some tea.

SPEAKER_06

Oh you're gonna also having the world see it all at that point, too. They have a lot of opinion, and so people can be triggered by that.

SPEAKER_04

And it's I know I'm already seeing the three promise ring comments that like girl, bye.

SPEAKER_06

So funny.

SPEAKER_02

You're like, it took a lot for me to do that, and it's like, yeah, no, it's crazy. Something that I've noticed even to this day, is just like the last thing that you're expecting, the last thing, it won't even, it won't even cross your mind. That's what people take out of it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, like that's what they were rag on. Like it's something you're like, what?

SPEAKER_02

What? That was really nice of me, right? I really I thought I handled that well, or like that's the last thing I was expecting. And you're just like, damn, man, like there's no peace. I'm just you just have so the so basically, just your reality, what you two share is what's true, is what matters, not like the aftermath of what people are picking up something that happened like a year and a half ago. It's like, no, we've already dealt with that. It's like complete water under the bridge, but that's also why I really like Netflix, the way that it takes so long for it to air.

SPEAKER_03

That's true.

SPEAKER_02

Because it's been months and months and months, and you're like, that feels like a completely different person. I've already overcome that obstacle, so you guys can talk about it all you want. I'm okay.

SPEAKER_06

100%. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

You guys are so good in your relationship, yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_02

So we know that we've played a little BDE at the reunion, but we have one more game for you.

SPEAKER_05

We have another game for you. We're gonna play a little uh ultimatum superlatives.

SPEAKER_02

So think of it like a yearbook, right? So basically, we're gonna name off a couple of superlatives, and you guys choose the castmate that fits it best.

SPEAKER_05

This will be fun. This will be fun.

SPEAKER_02

So starting off strong, most manipulative. Killian Killian.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, okay, Killian, Killian, all right.

SPEAKER_02

No hesitation.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, this will be fun. Biggest flirt.

SPEAKER_02

David, David.

SPEAKER_05

Love it, love it, love it. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Most reactive.

SPEAKER_05

Ashley.

SPEAKER_02

Ashley, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Uh best dressed.

SPEAKER_06

Haley.

SPEAKER_05

Casey.

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_05

That's a good answer, David. You did have some growth. We love to see it.

SPEAKER_02

It's because he's married. Yeah. Most honest.

SPEAKER_06

Um I would say myself almost. Or I would say or Haley. Haley is extremely honest with everything she did. Sometimes too honest.

SPEAKER_04

Jessica Grace, I would believe in the show. Yeah, she was pretty honest.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Um best advice. None of them.

SPEAKER_06

Maybe uh maybe Luke, best advice, maybe.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Zero. Zero.

SPEAKER_02

Not even Monica?

SPEAKER_04

Oh, uh, advice. Um, I don't know. Monica had good advice about child marriage partner. Yeah, definitely. Situational for sure. Yeah, yeah. Situational advice. There you go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Great advice. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, most likely to do another reality show. Haley and Ashley.

SPEAKER_04

Jessica Grace. Killian, Blake, for sure, Jebin, probably. Jebin, yeah. I was gonna say Jebin. Ashley, Jessica Grace, the whole the whole cast.

SPEAKER_03

Everybody.

SPEAKER_05

There you go, there you go. There you go. They they they might even actually. Did you hear that, Casting? Yeah. Uh, most and mature.

unknown

Jeb.

SPEAKER_05

Killian.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, Jebin. Durr. Yeah, 100% Jebin. I forgot about him for a second.

SPEAKER_02

Most mature.

SPEAKER_04

Um Idris.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, he's pretty good.

SPEAKER_04

He was mysterious. He was he's older. He was like, what, 38, 39, maybe? I don't know. Something like that.

SPEAKER_06

I would say myself.

SPEAKER_05

There you go. Um couple with the most unfinished business.

SPEAKER_06

Oh, that's still a couple. I would say uh Monica and Luke, but Monica and Luke, just and the couple most likely to get back together.

SPEAKER_04

I would say Blake and Haley.

SPEAKER_06

No, I would say um Idris and Jessica Grace.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, okay. All right. You got two there. I like that.

SPEAKER_02

Wow. Well Perfect. That was very telling. Yeah, I feel like we just learned a lot about it.

SPEAKER_05

Because like you, like you said, you guys have a different relationship, obviously. You see things from behind the scenes. So those game kinds of games are always really funny to see what you guys actually see compared to what we see.

SPEAKER_02

Right, exactly. Some people, but I think we were all right about Kevin. Anyway, uh, so before you go, what's something that you guys want the audience to take away from watching your story on the ultimatum?

SPEAKER_06

I think one of the biggest things is to have that security in your relationship when you're working on your problems. And if it's meant to work out at will in the end, like don't be afraid to give an ultimatum because the answer in the end is still an answer, whether it's an I don't know or no or yes, you're still receiving an answer. So if you feel that that's necessary, then it's it's okay to put that pressure a little bit on the relationship, especially if you've been with somebody for so long and kind of go from there.

SPEAKER_04

I would say it's cliche, right? Um the grass isn't greener on the other side, it's greener where you water it, right? So just water your your grass, water your you know, your flower, watch it grow and just enjoy it. That's great.

SPEAKER_02

And Casey, I would also like kind of ex the payback off of it. Would you say that that's putting the pressure on someone else is also putting yourself first?

SPEAKER_06

I a hundred percent think so, yes. Because you're doing that for yourself to move forward in that relationship or move on.

SPEAKER_05

It's funny because I feel like an ultimatum can be taboo sometimes, and it could be something that people like are it's frowned upon by giving somebody an ultimatum. But I feel like nowadays in the modern dating and modern relationships, like it is like shit or get off the pot, more or less, you know what I mean. And so I think that like having that conversation rather than just like kind of brushing it under the rug is really important. So it's great.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it basically puts it in a different perspective. So that person wasn't thinking the way that they are now that there's an ultimatum, it puts their mind in a different shift, and I think that really makes them think like that.

SPEAKER_02

Well, because it can snap you out of it, yeah, yeah, right? Yeah, and just being like, oh, it has been like five years. Oh, this person does see this future with me. Oh, maybe I need to work on something. Yeah, exactly. So I think it it's able to snap you out of it if you guys are are in the place, which definitely sounded like it's yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I'm so happy for you guys. I'm so glad it all worked out. Uh, this great I didn't two and a half months of filming is a lot of filming. I didn't realize it was that long.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you guys literally survived the ultimatum. Yeah, more than survived, they thrived, man. Thriving. We won.

SPEAKER_04

We didn't come to take part, we came to take over.

SPEAKER_02

No, and you definitely did. I mean, your your business, your home, your marriage, your wedding coming up. We're so happy and excited for you, and honestly, really impressed. So, thank you guys so much for talking with us today and letting us into your world because honestly, the ultimatum is one of those shows that just scares me. So, I'm I'm again impressed with you. So, congratulations, you guys absolutely deserve it. And thank you so much for being here with us today.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, can't wait to watch some of the wedding content. We're gonna keep an eye out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you'll see it.

SPEAKER_05

It'll be good. Thank you. Thank you guys so much. Awesome. Thank you guys, appreciate it. Wow, well, that that was great. I love them.

SPEAKER_02

They're lovely. I think that if anyone were to get married out of the ultimatum, they're the blueprint.

SPEAKER_05

I think they're the real, I think those kids got a chance.

SPEAKER_02

No, 100%. And I can't wait to see their wedding. This was a lovely chat. I love to see how all these reality shows actually can work, no matter how crazy they are.

SPEAKER_03

So crazier, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the crazier sometimes the better. But thank you guys so much for watching. We love doing this and chatting with everybody, getting all the tea.
