Oh Jay, I ain't wanna I wanna I ain't wanna F up. You know the day's a clean show, we ain't drinking nothing. Ain't nothing but water on the dog on table. You feel me? That's what it is. Yo, man. What's going on, man?

SPEAKER_04

Nothing but chillin'. Do what I had to do on the field and off the field, get my schoolwork done. Just been laid back, get ready for college.

SPEAKER_05

That's right, that's right. So so all three of y'all all three of y'all going to uh going to college. All three of y'all seniors going to get ready to go to college.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, sir.

SPEAKER_05

So where you going? Where you going?

SPEAKER_04

Southeast Missouri SEMO. Little D1 is D1? Missouri, yeah. That's D1 though.

SPEAKER_05

D1.

SPEAKER_04

D1, D1.

SPEAKER_05

D1. Where you going? Fam? Fam U. Fam U, both of y'all going to fam? Fam, boy.

SPEAKER_01

Fam got a ton. No, they they ready. They ready. They ready, Walk? They're definitely ready.

SPEAKER_05

They definitely ready. Man, so let me let me uh let me let me think, right? What's the biggest win you experience as a football player?

SPEAKER_03

The biggest win um I experienced as a football player is when uh I'd say like the year one state first year, like 2024 year. Right. Um to be honest, like I that was my junior season, so I only been playing football for two seasons, my junior and senior season. So be able to come in on a winning program and be able to go to the playoffs as the first time, starting and making it all the way to the state game and be able to accomplish that win.

SPEAKER_05

So you started as a junior? Yes, yes, yeah. Okay. That's big. And that and then and then and then and then that's the first year you played football or you played in little league. You played a league.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so what happened was um growing up, 2017, I played for the city only one year. Okay. I didn't really like stick with it, you know what I mean? And then like in high school, I didn't play football my freshman year. I played up the road, because I used to stay up there in Daytona, but I'm born a raid. Okay, okay, Volusia County. Mm-hmm. Yeah, Volusia County, right. Yeah. So my 10th grade season, the program, the school over there wasn't really like wasn't really doing too good. You know what I'm saying? So I was already planning about moving back down. Okay. You know what I'm saying? I ended up going to the West and I did what I had to do. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

OJ, how about you, man?

unknown

We think it's down like that. Yeah, sure. So every time Wesley said played, and for me to be in it, it felt totally different.

SPEAKER_00

We haven't beaten up in like you know like four games straight, you know, tap the bottom. For me to come back that year and feel me?

SPEAKER_02

That payback.

SPEAKER_00

That thing felt amazing. And the whole city was out.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. Yeah, how about you, Deuce? My biggest win wasn't even the game. My biggest win was coming from Louisiana and moving down to my back to Miami my hometown and coming to play for Miami Northwestern. Yeah, yeah. Just coming, being able to play for the city, doing what I had to do, leading Dave in stocks, and just making a name for myself.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and you, and you, and you, and you, you let you you let Dave Collier in stocks? Yes, sir. Wow. But you didn't, did you play all the games? Did you miss some games? I did, I missed about three to four games. And you let the college fucking.

SPEAKER_04

I came here game and right.

SPEAKER_05

Let me ask both of y'all something real quick. Let me ask both of y'all something real quick. Before I let before I let Walter Walk do his thing. So how did y'all feel when y'all met Deuce and y'all see Deuce do what he was doing?

unknown

I ain't gonna lie, I'm not.

SPEAKER_05

Alright, when I when you first came.

SPEAKER_00

Everybody that comes in that's new to the team, they they'll they'll look good and soft. They already be showing it, you feel me? I wasn't doubting him, I'm like, man, I'm gonna be people in the field.

unknown

Right, right, right. I see that boy got a little speed, get off. I'm like, hold on, who is this? I said, I I found out he was. I'm sure I'm saying, oh, that's one. I played like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I ain't gonna lie.

unknown

First game that was already dog.

SPEAKER_00

Like he was he was just so hyped to get on the field, like had a sugar rest to get on the field. He got on that field, but I played that. Boy, I ain't lying.

SPEAKER_05

You know, you know what's crazy, right? I f I I I was supposed to go to some of y'all games, but I never had time because I'm here shooting the show, and then and I never, but I I followed job, I follow it, I followed job. You know what I'm saying? And and I'm watching him, I'm like, I'm like, damn, this nigga here just like damn. Hey, I was kind of disappointed though y'all didn't win the state though. Yeah, we all was. The whole city was. I cried.

SPEAKER_04

You cried, we all cried.

SPEAKER_00

We were gonna go out there, can you move? And we wasn't even on no talking crazy. We drained it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we was really that was probably like the most humble game like we went into. We couldn't post, we couldn't do none of that.

SPEAKER_00

No, we all that you talking about, oh y'all both were talking crazy. Nobody was talking crazy. But that's just how it was always been. As players, we knew what we was getting ourselves into. We knew these people wanted revenge. After the year, we just told them people up.

SPEAKER_05

So y'all played them last year. Yeah, they played them and stayed.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Three in the morning.

SPEAKER_00

Block party, that thing in the six. You got people out there. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh man. Well, well, what you got? First off, I want to just let them boys know, man. I'm proud of y'all, man. Really? Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hey, because you is it's it's rare you see a young man that's focused like this here. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? With so much, so much distraction that's happening, you know? And and and we are the target, especially y'all, because we're older now. And y'all definitely the target. So it's it's it's what what what keeps y'all focused on the the the goal, the priority? You know what I'm saying? And that's the question for all three of y'all. You can start. Let me start. What keeps you focused?

SPEAKER_00

I just say I've been playing football since I was four. Yeah, I see. And it's been a straight business since I was four. Like, I treated football like it was a business since I was little. So all this, you know, stuff going on about college being like it's been on that.

SPEAKER_02

So that's what's up.

SPEAKER_00

You know what I'm saying? Like, come on. It's just like it's just like when you grow up, playing it and it's getting still into you. This big moments like this this thing, this is what you work for. Bro, you tell you can't be telling me I ain't there crying, but then running around and get tired of crying and not to be, you feel me? So it was just, I feel like it was a it was a calling all of us. It was just there for us.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right, right.

SPEAKER_00

It was just for a line.

SPEAKER_04

I'm with him, I'll play like I've been playing since I was full. Same thing, you know.

SPEAKER_02

That's all y'all boys know. That's all we know. Right. Ain't nothing gonna take that away from y'all.

SPEAKER_04

I'm talking about like with us, like I know a lot of people ain't doing it, but we're working out seven days a week. Recovery one day, seven days a week. We live it, we bleed it, that's football, man. Like growing up. Some people had to we love coming to practice.

SPEAKER_00

We come back. No, we're gonna go kill you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, see, that's passionate. That's passionate. We have to decide it.

SPEAKER_00

People just like to go play the game. Uh uh. We want the practice. We want to practice, we want all that. We have a good game, just like that.

SPEAKER_04

Hard work, we we love it, the weights, everything.

SPEAKER_02

That's that passion, though. That's that passion. That's what it is. That's what it is.

SPEAKER_05

What what so what was okay I okay, the toughest part for y'all, you said I was losing state. Okay. Okay, other than that, other than losing state, how was it? Or three of y'all, right? Playing for the West. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, well, for me, um, like I said, like I didn't really grow up playing football like how they were, so playing for the West really meant like a lot to me, you know what I'm saying? Coming in, you know what I'm saying? With Coach Teddy coming in, you know, as a he was really like a father figure towards us as well. Yeah, man, yeah. You know what I'm saying? He came in, like he really like built a foundation like foundation. You know what I'm saying? So like we had like team bonding, we had um Kemp Teddy doing the summer, like we stayed at night at the school. Like we was evolving. Like we had our Air Master, uh Air Max, we had our own the TV, the PS5, he had uh the shove. Like we was, you know what I'm saying? We were vibe.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, he really like, yeah, he really like, yeah. He invested in the book. He invested in them boys. Exactly.

SPEAKER_04

Single live playing for the West was a different, different experience for me. Uh yeah, coming from coming from Louisiana, my freshman year playing out West Boca. So it was just like, man, these boys moving fine. It was surprising. They move it different. They like Boca. White boys over there. I had to come down and like do what I had to do. So it was a fun experience. Like me and different people, different struggles, you know, you really get to see the world like playing for the West. Like, yeah, really get to see how different people are.

SPEAKER_05

Y'all fan base is crazy too, man. Oh, is it? Oh my god, y'all fan base is crazy.

SPEAKER_00

Like, because since I I've been there since 10th grade year, like ninth grade year was just like like ninth grade yeah, I ain't like ninth grade year ain't played football. And a lot of people you know wondering where I was. I was on home today, trying to play. I really really wasn't trying to play football. I let football go. After that season, and I shouldn't win everything. Nobody either after that year, I was just like I wanna go play for the West. I couldn't go I couldn't go to the West. I was trying to play for the water. You know how a person look at you? You know, you're not supposed to judge a little about his cover, right?

SPEAKER_05

They look at me.

unknown

Like you ain't gonna clown in me. I'll never forget this name with him and the player.

SPEAKER_00

I ain't gonna say who, but he up the college, learning college right now, you feel me? I remember this day, they were sitting patrol and playing around like kicking kids. I told him I go to the West. I'm gonna be the merch, right? So I went back 10th grade up, went back up there, transferred the Lord. Spring. That's the year they went to stay. The year they went to stay a lot. I was done. Spring. Love it. I coaches came, you know, Western coaches came to my auntie house. Michael E. Hearts came to my auntie house and said, Oh no, I mean, man, this ain't that. Your whole family bulls. But the same day, I'm talking about this like a little cookout. I love knowing that. I was already like, man, I ain't supposed to be, I want to be a bull all the way. The same day I transfer all the coaches calling to me, man, what's going on? I can't even tell a coach. I'm supposed to be a bull from the get-go. So we went four and six that year. You know, that was tough. A lot of people and a lot of people would leave and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but leave, yeah.

unknown

They want to go in. Me, I'm like, nah, this is the bulls, man. I love it.

SPEAKER_05

And that was your sophomore year.

SPEAKER_00

Sophomore, yeah. My first year playing high school. I started. I wasn't I wasn't too much in shape, but I was like, man, I know my next year, I gotta pop it off. I want to really go to school off that. I love football now. It came back to me. We went forward shit, lost our coach. Crazy. But I remember I ain't gonna lie, it was me, Calaros, St. Joseph, uh, Tarbell Matthews, Elijah Hardy, all of us, some of the places. We're the younger. And it was like a real brotherhood. We like, man, but we ain't leaving in it. Like we end up, we ain't leaving it. Man, we stayed, we both level, you know what I'm saying? Both life. Come around around the little spring, we get teddy. Everybody like, okay, we bring a little hope back. Like, we bring a little hope back. We got a coach down, you know what I'm saying? We get start playing, start coming in, flowing in. I'm like, God, we all like, thank you, God. Man, we're done been through so much. Camp Teddy, uh, like what he mentioned, Camp Teddy was like probably I feel like was the best experience of high school. Then staying there for five days with them boys was the craziest, funniest time.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Stayed there.

SPEAKER_00

Stayed there. In the school. Yeah, stayed there. It was broke. Eat there, everything there. It's fun. I'm talking about you talking about a child, you young child kids. We is having fun. It's straight the whole we in the hood like that. There's a whole bunch of us. And we all just sitting there like, man, I ain't gonna, I can't do this. Man, we can't do that. Well, them night can't like time, can we play volleyball, playing? Everybody play it. PS5 over there playing. Everybody can't beat me, boy.

unknown

We over there playing the game.

SPEAKER_00

Go to sleep if you want to late. Still got work in the morning. Seven in the morning. I ain't gonna lie, playing for the West, like overall, even though we lost stage and all that, bro, it was the best finish. Yeah, definitely. And like if you had something going on at home, bro, you would want to go to practice. We got like these guys. Yeah, that take off all that headaches. Even because Teddy made it to a point where like we had to really realize, well, these are brothers. And anything happened, any child us when we was, but we got each other back. And it was really like that. We didn't have to be blood. God made it like this for us to be like together. It was just real like heartwarming. You lost state, like man, it's gonna sometime, it's gonna be the last time we see some of these guys. Right.

SPEAKER_05

So you said that what kind of adversity start with you dudes, did you guys face? That season?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Oof. Adversity. The only the only time I feel like we we hit adversity was Palmetto game. It was a game we played, palm. It was like we come in, I wouldn't say the defense really had too many problems, but we came in a little like heavy-handed, hot-headed. We going in the halftime zero-zero. That's the first time we like, you know what I'm saying, in the season, we blowing everybody out, running through everybody. But we get in that halftime, it's zero-zero. So we like, hey, like, it's a chance that you know we could come in here and lose this game. Lose this game. Like, we like, man, man, man, we gotta tighten up. I'll never forget it. You know, the coach, you know how the West is, you know how the coaching is. Everybody that seen the documentary, it's still the same way. You know, we had it had to tighten us up. But that was probably like the biggest time we faced adversity, that and the state game when we wouldn't have time, 3-0, same thing. We like, look, hey, we gotta tighten us up. Like, this is the state game. We can't be coming with that.

SPEAKER_05

How about you? What was it?

SPEAKER_03

For me, I kind of like pick about what he said. Um, really the Orange Luther game when we first started. I didn't even play that game. Um, yeah, he didn't play that game. The team from um California, um, we we ended up playing them, and um we had a horrible start, to be honest with you. Like, we was not really doing too much good. We wasn't executed, we wasn't dominating. Like we were just it was a bad start. So like we ended up losing that game. I think about like two points or something like that. So that game we were for adversity that game as well.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's what that was again as bad.

SPEAKER_00

In my head, I'm the only one in the back Nobody in the back.

unknown

What?

SPEAKER_04

It's the wrong time to follow. In my head, I'm like, we're gonna tie it up, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And it and and it's so crazy. This is a it's a high level, but it's we young, but like playing at the West, it fit, bro. It's a SEC. It felt like SEC every day. I promise you, SEC high school game every day. West Central, you know, and you know, the bigger other big schools. Right, right, right. This is SEC of high school. Wow. And I promise you, I promise you, we take football so serious. Yeah, I'm talking about, oh, you lost a game, it's not that serious. Y'all go into that tie it up. We just lost real talk. We was getting mad when I don't know how deep this goes. This goes so deep. Yeah, but people get beat up for this, but we was getting mad when teams were scoring. And I'm like, in my own time, I'm in my head, like, bro, we gonna lose this game, tie it up. Yeah, I'm gonna be honest. As I'm just looking around and seeing the energy, I'm like, Lord, I'm I'm like, Lord, it may not go the way we wanted to go tonight. It may not go. But please, in my head, do not let this team fall apart. Yeah, and I what I mean by let it fall apart, next shift. Yeah, we lose this game. We lost the game.

SPEAKER_04

And if uh it fell apart, which was sad, man.

SPEAKER_00

It was the craziest stuff I ever seen. I see we went 13 and 1. We just all our coach before the season started, our head coach.

SPEAKER_05

So a lot of y'all players gone.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, the whole team, like the whole team.

SPEAKER_00

I've never seen so many transfers after the team that was just uh that was a power out.

SPEAKER_04

Man, in the state.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, I gotta be built, man. I gotta rebuild now.

SPEAKER_00

I've never seen so many players leave a team that was just the best team after losing one game.

SPEAKER_04

One little game, yeah. Not little game, but one game, yeah. The whole team transferred out.

SPEAKER_00

That was it right now. That was the deal breaker right now.

SPEAKER_04

Because it was upsetting to see them players like, look, we playing with you, we next to y'all in the state game. We done went through the same stuff, come back and you know, bring it back, bring the West back. And they leave and like it kind of hurt us, like, damn.

SPEAKER_00

Like right now, I see us. I seen, like, dang, we're not even playing. When I look back at it, I'm like, the ones that were done, I suppose we really bring the team grand 13 one time. Next year, we're gonna make sure we don't lose. Yeah, we want it all being up.

unknown

It's like, dang, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

I can't believe it.

SPEAKER_05

How hard is it with the portal situation to get in college, man? You want me to start?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, um, it's hard, man. You going against 25, 24, 23 year olds who done already been in college. And we coming out of high school trying to make a name for ourselves and trying to get on the field, and you already got somebody who been made a name for himself, or he's been in the weight room already. He already squatting 700 pounds, and which I don't blame him. Like, yeah, they try to win that mentality. Yeah. Exactly. And some coaches out there that's like, okay, we want to start rebuilding, but it's way harder to get in college. Like, way harder now. But is it a bad thing at the same time? I don't think so. I think it's a great opportunity for a lot of people.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like for us high schoolers, incoming freshmans, it's a little more tougher for us because they I feel like when it's hard to go to a school and a coach needs a certain position, for a guy, they rather take a guy that's already experienced than a good idea. Right, right, right, right, right. So it's really hard for us to even show our talent. It's hard for a lot of us to show our talent. Like you see the film, but you rather take a guy that's already been there.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right.

SPEAKER_00

So it's like I I can't even say I I don't know how to feel about the situation because I might be in that situation. Exactly. I can't say, I can't say, oh, now that's messed up. Because you're life. So for them to get another opportunity, thank God, but all on our hands, like, okay, we might. If that hit, we just gotta work a little more hard. That's what I mean. That don't mean go try. You see a guy transferring at 235 with kids, all that, oh, he big.

SPEAKER_04

He don't worry about that.

SPEAKER_00

Don't I don't don't that don't mean go transfer and leave because you see somebody else coming. That does not mean that. That means you work harder. Put your foot on the gas and keep it working on the card.

SPEAKER_04

I say control are controllables. Like, if it would do what you can control. The only thing you can control is you, right? Yeah, grinds. When your time is your time.

SPEAKER_00

You gotta lock somebody's head off. Exactly. That's exactly what it means.

SPEAKER_05

When they put you in, you gotta show you gonna do what you got to do.

SPEAKER_02

What the saying goes, you gotta be ready. You don't need to get ready. When it's time to knock somebody's head off, you gotta be already ready, right? Exactly. But um what I want to ask, what's what's let me know how important it is with um family support.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah. Um I'll say like it's very important for uh family support. Um because like I'm gonna just mention my old girl, my mama. Like, she's very supportive, like you know what I'm saying? Like, I'd say like for like treatment and like transportation, dropping me off, picking me up, especially even for like from practice, like after practice, you know, stuff like that. Even like her, like getting off of work, you know what I'm saying? And like me, like I stayed, my mama stayed all the way in western Florida. So like coming from work, coming to come pick me up, you know what I'm saying? Like, please point me very like it, like it was great.

SPEAKER_04

Like, yeah, that's what's up. I'm blessed to have a big support system, big family, you know. Papa Zoe, I got dad, mom, aunties, I got granddads at the school, uncles, everybody. So, you know, I got alumni, everybody been through that system. Miami Northwestern, some been through Jackson, but it's I've been blessed to have a big family support system. Like I got 30 people at the state game. Like, that's a lot of people for one person. So, yeah, so just them being able to support me and showing me love like at all times, no matter what I've been through. Even in Louisiana, watching my film, telling me how I'm doing this, this, and I got an uncle that's in, that's in, that's coaching at the NFL right now. You know, he's telling me, he calling me, like, look, you're doing pretty good, doing this, this, and this, you gotta do this right. I got mom, dad every day, you know, every day. When I wake up to when I go back to sleep. That's a blessing. That's definitely important. Grandma, grandma, grandma, grandma the same way. Little brother, even little brother and little sister, you know, getting on me. So it's it's a blessing to have that, you know, family in my life.

SPEAKER_02

That's what's up.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna say, uh, it is it's these two people that's in my life right now that I think God knows. You know, my mom's going, she talks to me uh last show. That's what made me have the season I had this year. Right, right.

SPEAKER_05

That's who you had to send that picture to? Mm-hmm. Yeah, let them know where you were.

SPEAKER_00

I'll tell my I'm talking about bro. It's like they never let anything like they're like if it wasn't that we didn't call it and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_00

And they are the biggest supporters. Right there. Right there. Every game, he would never miss up. That was my biggest supporter. My daddy uh really called like the state game. He can't win game time. And it made me smile. Because it's like hey, you really getting to see his son play. A lot of kids will be nah, why you did not nah, nah, yeah, yeah. A lot of people don't know what I've been through, so it's it's really like it's different. It's different. I see my nutty dog, I appreciate you for coming, sir. It means a lot to me.

SPEAKER_05

That's what's up, man.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so I mean, anybody ain't walking your shoes. You gotta walk in cool. Walk in my shoes and give them to me, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, see what it is, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Whoa, why are you gonna do this?

SPEAKER_05

That's what's up. What's up with uh uh uh with NIL though, man? What's going on with that, man? You don't want to talk about it? I don't want to talk about it. I know that thing's serious, NIL serious, man.

SPEAKER_04

That's why a lot of people transfer though, like, oh, I want this amount of money, about this amount of money, like high school, not high school out of high school, high school, college, like be so honest.

SPEAKER_00

Let's be honest, like I'm not gonna lie. The money, I don't want to say the money messed it up, but it's really it but it did though. It it messed it up a lot. It's not money, it didn't mess it up a lot, but it did, brother. A lot of players like money, so they go anywhere. I feel like a lot of it's a lot of people gotta do it for football.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, see, nobody football the world. Exactly. Everybody put the money. A lot of the freshmen, like they picking it off like a lot of people make their decisions off. Okay, how much how much NIO y'all finna pay me? Not am I gonna play? Am I gonna be able to get in front of the stage? Who I got is in front of me, they don't ask the right questions. They say, How much money I'm gonna get. That's the first time. The money gonna come. Don't worry.

SPEAKER_05

That's the question like when I played with it. It's the blessing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, y'all talking about the body, everybody, uh all 50, 60 men on the roster that's gonna be.

SPEAKER_04

They said everybody was gonna get everybody was good. Wow.

SPEAKER_02

I guess it did alter it a little bit. Nah, a lot. I think it did a lot.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna give you an example. I'm gonna give you an example of coach banner. Well, which why wish we had why we had all the money? What I'm telling y'all, y'all would be taking it for granted. I mean, you like man, coach, you got just chill, just chill. Like, he ain't like, 'cause I seen him play. He gangster. Nah, he gangster little faster now. No, that's different.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_05

What what why you got the nickname Deuce at?

SPEAKER_04

Where I got it from? Yeah. All right, so it originated with my um, so my uncle, his name DJ. Okay. And my dad is named DeMarcus. So I'm the second DeMarcus, and I'm the second DJ of my family. So they're like, nah, we're not gonna call him Junior, we're gonna call him Deuce. Deuce. I'm like, all right. Then it came up in Lily, like my uncle used to say, Deuce one juice, Deuce one juice. I'm not talking about he never missed the Lily game. Deuce won juice when I play running back. Then when I start DN, Deuce won Juice. So it's like, I'm sticking with Deuce. That's it.

SPEAKER_05

I'm sticking with Deuce. Bo Jay, what's your what's your advantage on that field though?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, my quickness. Oh, real quick.

unknown

Not what I want to just be in front, baby.

SPEAKER_05

So you you play O line? He played O line. O line, okay, and you D-Line.

SPEAKER_00

The biggest competition is him and another aluminator. Donna. Biggest competition. But I you can ask him. I boys say, I ain't gonna lie, you too big to be moving that fast. I just always have that quick. That's what's what? Why you moving that way?

SPEAKER_02

That's one of his strength. One of his strengths.

SPEAKER_00

It don't make no sense. I be one place and then the other like this. Yeah, line. I made it easy. You would think it's you.

SPEAKER_04

You would think it's slow. But he's really you go you turn on the film and be like, hold on, here, one gap already. Damn, how you get to my head?

SPEAKER_00

I'm ooh, I'm like, oh shit. I watched my film and I was like, I'm not fast.

SPEAKER_03

I remember one time I seen a clip on 305 sports. I sent it to him like, yo, like, is this video fast?

SPEAKER_00

He was a moving. I'm talking about I may be short, I may be looking a little, you know what I'm saying, got a little weight. That's that's just me. I've always been big.

SPEAKER_04

Man, that boy, we talking about that boy diving for pits. I'm talking about jumping and diving for pits. I'm like, whoa.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't expect that, but I'm like high than me. I'm really I never know. I I'm really been athletic on my mind. My uncle put in the boom in that bull j. He be like, he 215 and I ain't moving like that.

SPEAKER_05

So let me so uh what what why okay you gonna do one? What happened with it? What y'all go what what y'all in the what in the wind doing no other school coming for y'all? Or y'all just wanna go to but uh wanna go to the fan. We got we can answer the end of the yeah, why y'all want y'all yeah why y'all want to find the box? Because from you saying what you say, and I seen some of your I seen some of your moves and how you played.

SPEAKER_00

And how you feel about one man? Be honest.

SPEAKER_05

Like you feel like I'm a you should I feel like you're a D1 player. He did he do with school, but it's just like who what the become? Yeah, you had you had a D1 HBCU, which ain't nothing wrong with that, and nothing wrong with that HBCU, you know what I'm saying? But you know HBCU don't get the shine.

SPEAKER_00

As much as the other big school, the SEC or the NBS. I'm gonna tell you the real facts about this, about me. A lot of people know this, a lot of people don't. A lot of people ask me why you fan of me, why you chose fan of you. A bunch of guys at other schools, you know what I'm saying? The spring. The people every time coaches, big schools now. Every time they see my field, oh he's nice. He nice. He just too small. I be lying, oh there's no way this is true. So you telling me I want to get archived. I'm talking about everybody at six six. Yeah, everybody on the field of six. I made them look like they was toddlers. I'm talking about I'm grabbing them and control, throwing them out my way. Like, man, you all you want. Man, man, you ain't stopping around here. You feel me? The coaches at every coach. Every coach and family, like when it was time for signing, the phone was like in my head. I was like, nah, bro, and I know I am so a lot of kids gotta go different routes to get to the city. I'm like, me, I'm like, coach. He said, All right, just wait till the next Sunday. All the coaches say, wait till the next Sunday. One coach's like, no, I'm signed. I'm like, no, I won't wait. And you came and it was so aggravating. I thought I'm too good to be going to these schools like oh, like I know how good I am. There's no way I should be here. I didn't even get F either.

SPEAKER_05

So I just I committed Yeah, you like F them, you're like F them, then you go I did not want to go to a DUCO.

unknown

I'm a DRUCO. I'm I wanna be mad at myself.

SPEAKER_05

Right, right. Go to a DRUCO, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like um for me, like I had like schools looking at me, like I had like bigger schools looking at me. Um for example, I had UM looking at me, I had Gators, and uh I remember South Carolina looking at me. Like I took visits up, I took visits up there because we was on the Final Five Tournament, they had us with Coach Torian. I don't even know who Coach Torian, uh Legendary Lyman. They took visits up there and we were talking, you know what I'm saying. It was they they seen my film, they was telling me, oh, uh, they like it, this, this, and that, but never dropped the offer, you know what I'm saying. But it's cool though. Um, I'm still blessed, I'm still happy that I'm right. You got football after high school because a lot of people that's it. That's it for them. Yeah, so that's a blessing. At the end of the day, you know what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_05

Plenty plenty of players went pro from coming from fam. Exactly, exactly. So ain't nothing. Fam, fam, fam power out. Yeah, yeah. You feel what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_03

Fam, you you know what I'm saying? Do good ball art, you know what I'm saying? All of us, you know what I'm saying, make all American FCS conference, you know what I'm saying? That's a go.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I was all three that was all three I was on the market.

SPEAKER_04

That's what we want to do at college.

SPEAKER_05

At college, yeah, yeah. But but y'all see all yeah, I was all state. All three we made all state.

SPEAKER_00

They were all state. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

He made defeats of the play of the yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I want defeat.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so it was like that. It's really about the same thing.

SPEAKER_00

But we've all made first team all day, first team all day.

SPEAKER_03

Right, right, right. First team in the state of Florida.

SPEAKER_04

So with me, I want to say I'm blessed. Like, truly, like I came out of freshman year, junior year, uh what, sophomore year, no offers. Like, I came up playing the same level. I'm playing with my team in Louisiana, we wasn't really good, so I really wasn't getting the looks. I thought I was supposed to begin. I'm going to visits to Baylor, all the bit schools. They're telling me I'm good, but they're not talking about offering me or nothing like that. But I came to the um, I came back to Florida, and my first offer was a D2 offer, and I was excited. I'm like, I finally got the opportunity to just do it, like show my titles on that level. Right. And then we go, I started going to camps. This time I'm like, I came back down the first time I was at West Booker. I'm we going to camps and stuff, and I started getting offers. I'm like, oh yeah, I'm excited. Like, this is this is what I've been waiting for. Then I came to the West. Uh my first big O was Southern Mist. I'm like, wow, that's FBS. Like, I got really like doing this. I made it, I'm doing, I did everything I did in six months, so I'm truly blessed to even go to CMO. You know, I had a lot of people say, hey, you better than this, and you better than that. But I'm like, look, man, I can only control what I what I can control. Right, right. So me being able to get the offers and even going to a school D1 for free. Yeah, blessed. Truly blessed.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Some people don't got that.

SPEAKER_05

Fam you go for free, man. For free. Yeah.

unknown

You could go to only one school.

SPEAKER_05

Exactly.

SPEAKER_04

One school.

SPEAKER_05

One school at a time. Exactly. Some people don't get that.

SPEAKER_04

What the offers are one. You going to college. You're going to one college. That's how I used to say that all the time.

SPEAKER_02

I remember um one time, right? Years ago, years ago, I was at a friend of mine's shop, you know, and um it was some type of health complication happened to me. You feel me? And it just, I've I just dropped on the floor, you feel me? And I couldn't move my legs. And um, and everybody gathered around me, right? And they wonder, like, man, what's wrong with you? But all this here could not move. And at one time, I'm I'm like, I kind of just like snapped out, like, man, I'm gonna I'm gonna get up. You know what I'm saying? I'm I'm gonna get up. Even though I ain't know what was going on with me, I was like, I'm gonna get up. So I said that to ask y'all, when when when you get so down to yourself, where y'all pull y'all strength from? When when when when you think like, man, is is this the end or whatever situation I might be y'all might be going through? It's like, man, am I not gonna go to college? If if if if a school is not gonna pick me? And so where y'all pull y'all strength from when when when when adversity tried to come mentally, physically, however it comes.

SPEAKER_04

I pull my strength thinking about look, how hard, how hard and how long I've been doing this. I pull it from them them when I was four and I'm just now putting on paths for the first time. Right, right. When we run in one tens because we let a team score too much, or when we when I'm doing crowd walks, or like he said earlier, like I didn't do all this for nothing. Like, I'm gonna I'm gonna make it. Like, that's uh that's a mentality that I had to have. Like no matter what, I'ma get that. No matter what. No matter what. Like energy. That's the passion that I had to have. The I don't care what happens, no how bad it can get, no matter what, I'm gonna make it. I'ma make it. That's what's up.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, like for me, like I'll say like all like um the one ten is kind of like like the adversity, you know what I'm saying, after practice, you know what I'm saying, like still doing what we do, you know what I'm saying, getting mudded and um blood's what it is, to be honest, you know what I'm saying? That's what it's like, you know what I'm saying? Like I'm not just gonna get here doing all that really for nothing. Like I gotta I gotta go to college, I gotta I gotta do it. Like, it's I want I love football, but it's also like it's money out there, so I gotta do it.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right.

SPEAKER_05

Well you you get on that feel you turn it on.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I think about. That's what it that's what it is.

SPEAKER_05

Whoa, Jay, who's your favorite player? Talk about all the time.

SPEAKER_02

I can't wait to head is office and defense. I can't wait to head this.

SPEAKER_01

There you go.

SPEAKER_05

That's your that's your That's your size. Both of them boys was your size. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It was it wasn't the biggest. Yeah, but they was nasty to crazy. That's what you call football. Football, I feel like football is a game of mint of that style. Uh nasty, and you get a little dance in the group.

unknown

That's when I get all of my you know, I've always been a little dancer.

SPEAKER_00

You guys always been a little dancer. I feel like I get a cut in the hug, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_03

I ain't talking about for me, I would say like my favorite players, I'd say Renee Sua and Trent Williams. Like when you think of offensive linemen, you think of them guys, like them boys is nasty, them boys is dogs. Like they done be in the lead, they uh being uh they they are they are they veterans, you know what I'm saying? Right, right, right. And like playing offensive line, like I ain't gonna lie, like it's fun. Like you get the advantage of like put another grown man on the back. Like talking. Like, I love playing.

SPEAKER_05

I'm I'm I'm not the cut, y'all. I'm looking at y'all right now, right? Y'all some big, y'all some big mother effers. Hey, I'm telling you, look, we went this big. I'm looking at this dude arm right now to this shit. I'm looking at y'all some big mother efforts, bro.

SPEAKER_02

While I'm watching the draft, uh-huh, it's their faces I'm seeing in the draft. It's like them style, all of them is dressed up, it's like I'm seeing them them the players I'm seeing. You feel me? Yeah, that's the goal, man. What what your two? We forget you now.

SPEAKER_04

Um my two favorite players was definitely growing up, was watching Vaughn Miller, and then more recently, Michael Parsons. Like, Vaughn Miller was different. Yeah, it was a lot of people could start Von Miller. Vaughn Miller, like watching. He was special, dog. He was special. He went he won the biggest. He definitely won the biggest on the field. But boy, he was the nastiest when he touched that field. But everybody scared was fear of Von Miller. And on the offensive side was Cam Newton when he came out. I used to love Ken Bill and I used the stupid man all the time. Yeah, all type of stuff.

SPEAKER_00

What about oh? I forgot to say Bo Jackson. I'm talking about Bo Jackson.

SPEAKER_05

What you turn away? Bo Jay, what do you mean? I'ma answer it like this football my girlfriend. Football. Gun ass. Gonna answer. What's up, little football? I'm putting you on blacks, man. I'm putting them on black.

SPEAKER_00

I see. I see.

SPEAKER_04

I see. Football my girlfriend, man. Don't say the wrong thing, but football your gun. Football your gunner fit.

SPEAKER_05

Football the girlfriend.

SPEAKER_06

That's it. I'm gonna say that, man.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna ball these ladies, man. Football the girlfriend, man.

SPEAKER_05

What you guys like, what you I mean, I d to go back, to go back, I I mean, I need to, what's you guys' journey been like?

SPEAKER_04

Ooh, boy, it's been tough. I ain't gonna lie. My journey is different. A lot of people ain't have to move out of where they love that, and they had to come back and do what they had to do. And this wings spent about five months. Like I only had five months to do what I left. My freshman year, I'm at West Boca. I had made the decision on New Year's that day. I'm like, I'm gonna go play with all my dogs. I play my spring game. I got Penn State head coach talking to me. I'm like, wow, man, I'm gonna really make a living out of this. I'ma really be on the 247 little pages and all that. Then my dad hit me with the, you know, we gotta move, which, you know, we support him. Love my dad. Then today we um we moved to Louisiana and we was like, dang, this hurt. I went to Louisiana, like, all negative thoughts. I'm like, dog, I'm not gonna be able to make a living like I was over there. I got there, team I was with wasn't good. Colleges wasn't hitting me up no more. Yeah. It was, it was a struggle. And then when I ended up, you know, we were sent at a Mexican restaurant. I'll never forget and I said, look, if I want to make a living out of this, I gotta go back. And he was like, okay, make that call. I made that call. My coach said, we would love to have you back. I can't, I was so happy. I was like, I'm out the restaurant, running around and everything. I was like, oh yeah, let's let that. I was happy, I was excited. I was like, he said I could come back. We made, I'm talking about it happened in three days. The first day was the how we were gonna do the education. Second day was me packing my batch, third day, I'm already gone. So it was just exactly, it was a blessing. I came down here to um, and I remember every day, like I'll be asking God, like, look, bring me back to West Boca, bring me back to West Boca, bring me back to West Boca. Or, and that wasn't the prayer that no, I was actually praying that, you know, helped me get to college. And I'm thinking that prayer is me going back to West Boca. And that's what he was showing me. And when I got to West Boca, it wasn't what I thought it was when I got there. You know, they had one already had one estate, brought everybody back. They had people in my position they loved already. And when the opportunity came to come to the West, I'm like, this is the opportunity God was talking to me about. This is what he really wanted to show me. Like, this is how you're gonna get to college, this is how you're gonna fulfill your dreams through the West. And it was like, it was just amazing.

SPEAKER_03

Um honestly, my journey was pretty good, you know what I'm saying? Like I was saying earlier, you know, I didn't really grow up playing football. So coming from a school, that wasn't really talented, you know what I'm saying? Moving back down to my home city. You know what I'm saying? I remember my first day going to the West, like I already knew a lot of people because I remember like in the spring, you know what I'm saying, 2024. That's when I was telling you guys. Like I said, like I wasn't really, I didn't really have no technique. So going into the spring, I took the coach out, you know what I mean? Like I took the coach out, I did what I had to do. You know what I'm saying? Football really like opened doors for me. A lot of connections, you know what I'm saying? Like I said, like I was touring, you know what I'm saying? We had to find for our tournament, you know what I'm saying? Going out of state, going out of town. Um North Carolina, that was my first time going on a plane, first time, you know what I'm saying, touching snow, you know what I'm saying, stuff like that. Yeah, you know what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_04

Well, first time touching snow is different.

SPEAKER_03

I had a I had a great journey, and uh like I said, you know what I'm saying, first year, going to the playoffs, winning state, and now I'm going to college now. Beautiful.

SPEAKER_05

Beautiful. Definitely beautiful. Beautiful, man. Beautiful. What what what life lesson playing football taught y'all?

SPEAKER_04

First off staying in school, like that's one thing, that's one thing football taught me. Like, you can't do nothing without school. Like, some people don't even think about that. Like, you without foot, without school, you can't play football. So football taught me, look, you gotta be successful in school first. And another thing is to keep keep your head down and keep going. Like never, never start, don't let somebody tell you that you can't do this. Or you can't do that. Nobody, don't let nobody tell you that. Like I said, control your the only thing you can control is you. How much you can control the controllables. Work hard, keep going, do what you can do. Just keep your head down and keep going. Don't let nothing set you back. Just keep going. Keep going.

SPEAKER_02

That's what's up. Go ahead, bro.

SPEAKER_03

I don't say football taught me. I'll say who real and who ain't real. Okay, wait, you know what I'm saying? Yeah. You could you could really like the final, like people like also like you know, you just keep going and keep pushing, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_00

Okay, okay, uh, what do you see? Nobody looking. Ain't nobody looking at the man above everything. When I when I make awful comedy comedy, thank God.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you, God. That's the first thing you think of. Thank God. That's true.

SPEAKER_00

But I don't play about boy, something I don't do in my life. Yeah. Boy, you the only thing that can keep me standing right now.

SPEAKER_05

Respect, respect, respect. That's a big facts, boy. Oh yeah. Well again, this is this deep, man. You know, I ain't I you know, we ain't never I ain't never had nobody like you know, like this on this show. This is different. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? This is a different show. This is a special show. You feel what I'm saying? And and then to to I'm I'm I'm going back thinking when I was a high school. You feel me? The opportunity that you guys got now, we definitely had then have that. But that's that's part of life. That's life evolving, that's life changing. Yes, sir. You can't, you can't, you can't, you like I tell people, I can't, I'm I'm 60 years old right now. I can't do what I used to do when I was 50. I can't do what I used to do when I was 40. You see what I'm saying? So you gotta, like you guys right now, you guys are teenagers, man. This is the best time of your life. Enjoy it. Be righteous. You feel me? Stay focused. Like you said, football is your girlfriend. Yeah. You dig what I'm saying? All them other little girls, I know they got, hey, hey, dudes, hey, but football, you know, they out there, they ain't going nowhere, they're gonna be there. Yeah. You feel what I'm saying? They call them season broads. Yeah. Because I had them too. When I played football, when they all on the football player, when basketball season came, they all on the basketball player. You know what I'm saying? Season broads. That's what they used called when I played. So, you know what I mean? Keep y'all keep your head focused, you know what I'm saying, and keep your heart pure. And like y'all, y'all bring up God a lot and keep God first. Yes, sir. You feel me? And then that's that's gonna go, that's gonna, that's gonna be our, you feel me, y'all everything. You sweating over there, boy, you want to bottle water, ain't no, ain't no. Look at that water. You better grab that water, you better grab that. You better grab that water. I see over there sweating over there, boy. You know what I'm saying? So yeah, man. But uh, I mean, before we, I mean, you know, we we we we close out and stuff, right? I I want to know, like, what message each of y'all have for the younger youth right now, the younger players or the players that's coming up.

SPEAKER_04

Like you said, uh, keep God first. Definitely keep God first, stay in school, like make sure you're doing everything you can to do in school. At the end of the day, someday, which is hard, football gonna in. And you do the education. Yeah. Yeah. Like at the end of the day, you gotta be, you gotta be able to have to work certain systems. So stay in school, do good in school. Then the um another thing I could tell them is, you know, keep your head down. Always grind. Don't let, like I said, don't let somebody tell you that you can't do this or can't do that. Always stay, try to stay as positive as possible. Grounded. Stay grounded, exactly, stay humble. That's a really big thing. Stay stay hungry. Stay hungry. There you go. Stay real hungry. Always, always be hungry for what you want. Like, go.

SPEAKER_05

Don't be greedy though. Don't be greedy. Yeah, it's different between being greedy and being hungry. Yeah, before what I'm saying. Not at all, not at all. Stay hungry.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, stay hungry. Yes, sir. Yeah, I'll say on a message for the youth, I'll say, like, stay down, keep doing what you want to do, keep doing what you love. And I also also say keep God first. Listen to your mama. Listen to your mama. Both of my questions.

SPEAKER_02

That's the that's took both of my questions. Listen to your mama, though. That's what I was gonna ask you. I was gonna say, who do y'all listen? Tell, I was gonna say, um, let the kids know how important it is to listen to your mom's parents.

SPEAKER_04

That's important.

SPEAKER_03

Stay out of trouble, stay out of trouble.

SPEAKER_04

That's a listening to them keep you out of trouble.

SPEAKER_05

That's what's up.

SPEAKER_04

That's what's up, man. Yeah, all right. I love this. I'm a mama's boy, too.

SPEAKER_00

They will not beat you home on mama, bro. Like this stuff, but I'm gonna be honest with you. Mama said, you can't party.

SPEAKER_04

Y'all can't fucking they know why. They know what's going on. Exactly. Keep you safe. Keep you safe. Hey, my mama, my mom said when I'm out, she got a tingling. Man, bring her come home, man. I feel like something go wrong. I get home, something went wrong. I'd be like, dah, how you knew that?

SPEAKER_00

How you knew that, mama? It's like I'm gonna be honest with you. Yeah, that's real. Yeah, they done did the thing.

unknown

They done seen it.

SPEAKER_00

We done seen when they feel something, they know it's God telling them, get your son home. That's true. I need you to talk to him. And they'll be like, all right, mom. That's how it be. Because guess what? You still got your son, he's still alive. And you know what's so important about that?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if y'all listening, when they say these type of things, it makes it more easier for them, right? Because imagine if I'm telling my son, hey man, don't do this. He always, now and then I'ma still do my thing. So when when I do get that intuition, or mom get that intuition, I'm like, well, he ain't gonna listen anyway if I tell him. So I don't care what happened to him out there. But because y'all listening, and and she says she get whatever, she intuition, whatever, and she says, hey, dudes, man, come come to the house. Because dudes listen. Dudes like, well, I gotta go, y'all. Duce don't listen.

SPEAKER_00

Well, he be telling us a lot.

unknown

I have a lot of bubble hitting.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god, I gotta go. I'd be I'd be a little upset, but I'm like, look, I know how my mama.

SPEAKER_00

A woman, a woman, woman, you know what goes down.

SPEAKER_05

Woman sees that woman sees, man. Woman sees they better listen. Woman sees, we could be we could be in the middle of doing it. We could be in the middle of doing anything.

SPEAKER_04

We could be in the middle of doing anything. I mean anything. And my and my mama just said, look, I gotta go home. Look, hey, that's what it is.

SPEAKER_00

I'm about to put me like, man, what you mean, man?

SPEAKER_04

And even if that was like that, it's like, look, it's my old girl. That's hey, that's my old girl. Even if it was my old girl, my dad does the same thing, he got that sense too. So it'd be like, he'd be like, man, come home at this time. Like, dang, that's a little early. I come, that's a little early. I'd be like, but I thought I thought it's like all good things, like it's all behind the good thing. Nothing wrong and telling them to hurt us at the end of the day.

SPEAKER_02

Y'all the future, man. Y'all the future. Y'all the future, man. Y'all is the future, you know what I'm saying? I need I need I need my son when my son see y'all, like, yeah, boy, thank you. Yeah, thank you for introducing me to these guys here. You feel me? My little with my king, the little my little nieces and nephews, you know what I'm saying? Hey boy, I need y'all to come meet some people. So, so some some black men and see what they're doing. You know what I'm saying? And they be like, okay, I want to be like him. You know what I'm saying? Role model. Just a uh, you want to be a role model, positive role model.

SPEAKER_00

That's it, man. I'll say, um, another thing for the youth. My grandpa, my grandpa tell me his name is his name is uh Anthony Swayne. I call him Papa T. He always tells you whatever your heart designer has hard. Whatever your heart design has anything, go to him. Bro, it may not, he may not come back and tell you. No, it don't work like that. But you'll be wondering why just Mar just did something I never did before. It's a good thing. It's him.

SPEAKER_04

They call it blessings in the sky.

SPEAKER_00

It's him.

SPEAKER_04

Blessings in the sky.

SPEAKER_00

All he asked for you is to be faithful and trustworthy. Like he just he's not asking for a lot. At all. He gave us free will, he asked him for some of our time, not a lot, just some of it. So uh we go on all of this, we do every day, and we can't get it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, waking up in the morning, just waking up.

SPEAKER_04

Just waking up, just thinking, waking up, thank you, God. You shouldn't be thinking about it. It's thank you, God, for waking me up.

unknown

No, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_05

Thank you, God, for allowing me to wake up in the morning. Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Every time I leave this house, I got grandpa on before he leaves the house, he's praying. Anytime I'm trying to both stay right here. Yeah, I'm praying. Great grandma the same way. Before you leave that house, every single day, he prayed. And I'm telling him, I get back home every day. I get back home every day safe and sound.

SPEAKER_04

I didn't find something. My great grandma taught me something. The um the pray with the uh guardian angels to pray over you at pray over the house at night. You know, pray for the protection over the window, the doors, all the little stuff. He taught me that. I started sleeping so much, but I'm like, wow, I'm waking up like, okay. Like, yeah, no, no more nightmares. You don't even, I don't even know. I don't remember last time I had a nightmare since she taught me that. So I learned a lot of new stuff, you know, goodness relationship with God. I love the kids.

SPEAKER_02

God loves the kids and the adults.

SPEAKER_04

Best relationship that you can have is with God.

SPEAKER_02
