It's launch day!
In this brief solo episode, I share a couple of updates before we dive into the first interviews. I explain why I decided to replace my planned Substack read-aloud, why I'm intentionally keeping the production simple for now, and what you can expect from the release schedule going forward.
Thanks for being here at the very beginning of A Part of Something. I appreciate your support, and I hope you'll join me for the conversations to come.
A Part of Something explores music, near-death experiences, creativity, and the search for meaning through conversations with musicians, experiencers, and other thoughtful guests.

Okay, hello, and welcome to the second ever episode of A Part of Something. My name is Daniel Truerin, I'm your host, and this is gonna be just a little housekeeping episode. So um yeah, so it's release day. If you're if you're hearing this, it's August 11th, 2026 or later. Um and I had I had mentioned on uh Instagram and maybe some other social media platforms that the plan was to uh release five videos, three interviews, and two kind of substack read alouds. And so I'm I am planning to release those uh those three interviews still, but instead of two Substack read alouds, I'm just doing two kind of off-the-cuff videos. The first one was was just kind of an introduction to the show, and then this one is is the housekeeping video. And so um I just I just I I was I recorded the first read-aloud, um, and then I decided that the essay needed more editing, and I want to be intentional about um about the Substack or the blog or whatever. I I haven't started releasing it yet, and I don't want to rush it. So that's the first thing. The second thing is I just wanted to kind of uh you know, talk about a decision that I made, basically to in this first week to really go with a a bare bones uh production style. So not much editing, um uh a little, I think I I kind of took out some swear words here and there. Um I don't I'm not putting I'm I'm not putting music in the beginning even yet. Um the reason for that is you know it's it's five videos, it's the first time I've done this. Um I have limited time. Uh I'm in a season of life where um staying up all night is not a smart thing for me to do. And so I'm just, you know, I'm I'm uh living by the done is better than perfect philosophy, and just getting things released, and then hopefully in the coming weeks and months, I will make uh kind of incremental production improvements. So that's kind of that's it. I'm I'm not gonna make this a long episode. I just wanted to um you know to kind of kind of communicate those those two things. And um and so yeah, so enjoy the other three interviews, and then you know the plan is to um, I guess to release Tuesdays. Um each Tuesday, you know, uh right now in my mind I will alternate. One week I will release a uh uh an interview episode, and then the next week I will release a solo episode, whether that's me just babbling like this or uh doing an essay read aloud. Um that's the plan. Okay, and that's that's kind of all the news that's fit to print. Thank you so much uh for listening, and um and I'll I'll yeah uh you know, please, please give me a follow on on all the places where it's appropriate to to follow. And I guess at this point, I can even ask you to like leave a five star review and and um and and share with people. Um and yeah, that would all be awesome. Okay, thank you so much. I'll see you next time. Take care.
