FOUR NOBLE TRUTHS

  1. The Truth of Suffering (Dukkha): Life inherently contains unsatisfactoriness, including pain, aging, illness, death, and general unease. Even pleasurable moments are impermanent, leading to underlying anxiety.
  2. The Truth of the Cause of Suffering (Samudāya): The root cause of this suffering is craving (tanha) or desire, driven by ignorance of the true nature of reality. This includes clinging to sensations, possessions, and the idea of a permanent self
  3. The Truth of the End of Suffering (Nirodha): Suffering can be ended by letting go of, or extinguishing, this craving and ignorance. This state of liberation is known as Nirvana.
  4. The Truth of the Path to the End of Suffering (Magga): The way to overcome cravings and cease suffering is by practicing the Noble Eightfold Path, which includes wisdom, ethical conduct, and mental discipline.

SPEAKER_00

Hello everyone, my name is Christopher Liam Rose. I'm an author, mentor, life coach, Mervational speaker, evangelist, musician and activist. In this Christopher Leon Rose Monastery podcast, this is a basically a new series of messages that I'm going to be sharing for the Buddhist tradition of Buddhism. And we're going to be sharing different parts of Buddhism within this podcast and within this audio, um, which is a brand new series. I am set sharing the Christopher Leon Rose Monasteries to inspire humanity to learn more about Jesus Christ Jehovah and Buddha and faith, spirituality, fate, and religion. I'm also sharing the Buddhist um Christopher Leon Rose Monasteries to help humanity to find their faith, their spirituality, their faith and religion, and also encourage those listeners and viewers of the podcast and the audio that you know you don't have to live in suffering, pain, adversity in your life, and there is a way of overcoming it and finding who you really are as a human being. Um so within this specific podcast and audio, we're going to be sharing a very um um important message for the Buddhist tradition within Buddhism. So this message and this audio and this podcast is called The Four Noble Truths. I'm just gonna explain this briefly in this podcast and audio, and hopefully it will help those listeners to understand that there is an ending of suffering paying adversity, and you can become who you want to be and live the life that you want to live. So the Buddha was basically teaching about the four noble truths once he gained enlightenment. So enlightenment is basically understanding reality and learning of the truth of reality. When the Buddha started to teach um, you know, the four noble truths to disciples, to people that were following him, and being a part of the Buddhist tradition, he was basically showing the truth within reality, within humanity, the animals in the universe. And the Buddha basically explained these four noble truths. And when we understand these four noble truths, we can understand that within our journeys, within our lives, there is a way of ending suffering adversity, and becoming the person you want to be and living the life you want to live. So there's four noble truths that we need to learn to basically, and this is what it really is about. Once we learn the four noble truths, then we can find our spiritual change and spiritual enlightenment within ourselves, and that takes for all human beings to find within themselves. We all have to go on this journey of um spiritual change and spiritual enlightenment. But once we understand the four noble truths, this will slowly take us to Navanya, which is basically heaven on earth, and your spiritual change and your spiritual enlightenment. So the first noble truth of the four noble truths is the truth of suffering, dukkha. So it says that life contains suffering, which includes physical pain, mental unhappiness, and general sense of unsatisfaction or impermanence. So for millions and billions of people, they are basically living within suffering. The pain, the anxiety, the distress, um the feelings, the emotions, the difficulties, the challenges, and basically their own suffering, pain, adversity which they're experiencing within life. The second of the four noble truths, the truth of the cause of suffering, some uh dukkha ducla, sorry. So it says that suffering is caused by a craving, desire, attachment, and ignorance of the true nature of reality. So this explains a lot of why people are going through suffering, pain, and adversity, because they haven't understood the true nature of reality, of what life is really all about, you know. Why do we suffer? Why are we going through pain? Why are we going through adversity? Why is this happening to us? Why do we experience this? How do we overcome this? What can we learn from this? How do we process this? What can we do to resolve this? How can we change this? Um, what's our spiritual future gonna be? How are we gonna become the person we want to be? So basically for um for millions and billions of people, the second uh four noble truths becomes very important. The true of the truth of the cause of suffering, some uh you do you are so like I said the suffering is caused by craving. That's that means your attachments, the desires, the attachments, the ignorance of the truth of natural of nature of reality. So you can understand why people are going through suffering, pain, adversity because they don't understand the truth of reality or of life. So the third of the fourth noble truths, the truth of sensation of suffering, no no no no no norma. So it says it's possible to end suffering by overcoming the cravings and attachments that leads to the state of liberation known as nirvana. So the truth the truth of the sensations of suffering, nirvona can be learned once we understand our cravings and our attachments, which basically means different things for different people. Some people have a craving and attachment to their family, some have a craving and attachment to their career, some have a craving and attachment to their business, some have a craving and attachment to their volunteer, some have a craving and attachment to material things, some have a craving and attachment to socializing and friendships and relationships, so there's no necessarily right or wrong way of viewing the craving to attachment. I think for all human beings it'll be a different thing, but if we want to get on the path of what the Buddha was teaching us in the Buddhist tradition, which is overcoming the cravings of attachment that leads to this state of liberation known as nirvanya, we have to understand how desires are craven and attachments, which basically, if we're not very uh mindful of them, can lead to ignorance of the true nature of reality. So it's so important within life that we overcome, and I normally say within the Buddhist tradition, it's the self that causes the suffering pain and adversity. So, what do I mean by the self of human beings? Now, I'm gonna explain this within this four noble truths. Now, the self, people have gone through life experiences, difficulties, challenges based on the self because of their self-actions and either what they've learned from the actions or what they didn't learn from the actions. Now, your self is where the suffering, pain, and adversity comes from. If you don't overcome the self, which is the hardest thing to do within reality, especially with the four noble truths, then you're always gonna have cravings and you're always gonna have attachments. So that doesn't lead to liberation because you're attached to your cravings and attachments, so that has to change. If your cravings and attachments don't change, then you're always gonna be focused on. I don't want to get rude in the podcast and the audio, I just want to share this as simple and brief as I can. Sometimes the craving and attachments can be financial things, so money, materialistic things like cars, houses, possessions, or holidays, or travel, or food, or drinks. So to get to the path of what the Buddha is trying to say in his teachings, the craving and attachments, we need to overcome those cravings, desires, and attachments, which is very, very difficult. But once you've understood that the self is what causes the suffering, pain and adversity, then I've always said we can find ways to overcome it. Then we get to the fourth noble truth, the truth of the path of sensation, MAGA. So it says the way to end suffering is to follow the the noble eight full path, the middle way between indentation, um, which includes right understanding for speech, action, livelihood, effort, mindfulness, concentration. So with the four noble truths, there's a noble eightfold path that leads to liberation. The liberation is basically the spiritual freedom. So spiritual freedom and spiritual liberation is what we call the middle way. So first we have to understand the self of who we are, which always takes to learn and understand them. So the self of who we are is our suffering pain adversities, so our life experiences, what we've been through, um, the challenges of our life, the situations we've faced, um, disappointments, um suffering pain adversities we've gone through, any challenges, any hardships. Um, basically anything that the self provides, which is a lot of different things to different people, right? So the path to overcoming that is when we find MAGA, which is basically the ending of suffering. The ending of suffering doesn't mean you're free necessarily from the self because as a human being, we still have to live within a body and a mind and a soul and a spirit. But what it does mean is when you've transcended the self, so the self has been transcended. What what does it mean to for the self to be transcended? It comes to this, which is part of the Buddhist tradition as well, which I shared previously in other audios already. It's called the no-self, selflessness, and know thyself. So the question is how do you get to the no-self, selflessness, and know thyself? Now, just to include within the four noble truths, I want to just share two more things just to help the listeners and the people that are listening to this new series of podcasts and audios. So, with the four noble truths, how do we get to MAGA and how do we find Nirvana in on earth as we're living? We go through the process of the four noble truths, we go through the process of the noble eight full pass. So, I'm just gonna explain the noble eight full pass before I continue with what I want to share as well. So the eight uh full pass, so let's just find it. So um okay so the noble eightfold path is first wisdom, right view, right understanding, right intention, right solution, and then ethical conduct, right speech, right action, right conduct, right livelihood, and then uh mental discipline, right effort, right mindfulness, right concentration. So that's the noble eightfold path, which is which is part of the four noble truths. Now, just to add to how important this is for your liberation and spiritual freedom, I want to share the six spiritual practices and the seven levels of helping other people, which does become very important when you connect it to the four noble truths and the and the noble eight full path. So there's six spiritual practices that can help you to find your spiritual freedom and spiritual liberation, which is part of the four noble truths and the and the noble eight full path. So, what are the six spiritual practices? Prayer, meditation, mindfulness, walking, journaling, silence, and then what are the seven levels of helping other people? Just before I explain the seven levels of helping other people. Um, this has evolved as I've been learning and been on my own spiritual change and spiritual journey. But the seven levels of helping other people once we find spiritual freedom and spiritual liberation, which is Navanya in earth, so it means you live the no-self, selflessness, and know that self in daily living. So, what are the seven levels of helping other people? So there's actually seven levels which all help you to basically become spiritually enlightened, spiritually free, spiritually liberated. So level one, volunteering, the good level in helping other people, level two, jobs, careers, employments, the great level in helping other people, level three, business and entrepreneurship, the highest level in helping other people, level four, faith and spiritual, the spiritual levels and helping other people, level five, spiritually helping other people who helping other people, the teaching levels and helping other people, level six, spiritually helping other people to spiritually change, the spiritual change levels and helping other people, and level seven, spiritually helping other people and spiritual truth, the spiritual enlightenment levels and helping other people. Now, just to go back to what we're discussing, so with the four noble truths, um, and I want to just get this again in the podcast and audio for today. So, with the four noble truths, um, the truth of suffering, dukkha, the truth of cause of suffering, some Yodaia, and then the truth of the ending of suffering, Navonia, and then the truth of the path MAGA. When we understand that the four noble truths are there to basically help us find spiritual freedom and spiritual liberation, with the noble eightfold past are there to guide us to that point within the Buddhist tradition. I only added the six spiritual practices and the seven levels of helping other people within it to inspire those people to go on this path, right? Now, just before we finish, there's no right or wrong path to get there, right? So I'm only showing this within the Buddhist tradition, but as a human being, you can find what works for you. So find what path works for you, find what um faith and spirituality, fate and religion works for you. If you do want to become spiritually free and spiritually liberated, then you need to overcome the self. The self is what has to be overcome first before you discover the no-self, selflessness, and know that self. For example, if you don't overcome the self, you get attached to the cravings of attachments, which happens to people in life. They're attached to their relationship, they're attached to their money, they're attached to their business, they're attached to their career, they're attached to their volunteering, they're attached to their livelihood, they're attached to their friends, they're attached attached to their relationships, they have a craving for family, they're attached to their families, and they're attached to their money and their income and materialistic things. So automatically all of that has to change, and what I try to share in my not just in my podcast, but in my books, my videos as well, is that spiritual change that spiritual change changes everything else. So my encouragement within the audio of this specific message, the four noble truths, if you go on the path of the Buddhist tradition to find the four noble truths for yourself, because each human being has to find it for themselves. I would recommend to do the eight full paths, and I would recommend to do the six spiritual practices and the seven levels of helping other people. Only when you go on this journey of spiritual freedom, spiritual liberation. Slowly, it takes a long time to get there, but the enlightenment comes, you become more free, more spiritual. When the enlightenment comes, your life changes because you're no longer attached or craving or desiring the self. That gets changed into the know self, selflessness, and know thyself. So the know thyself, selflessness and know thyself is what Buddha Jesus Christ Jehovah wants us to attain. They want us to find it in life and find who we really are. If we don't go on this journey, we don't find spiritual alignment or spiritual change, and then if we don't find spiritual alignment or spiritual change, we don't find spiritual truth. So, majority of the time within um, you know, faith, spirituality, fate, and religion is to find that truth for yourself. All human beings are on a path in life, whether they've acknowledged it or not. The only difference is there's a few people, I'm not gonna say everybody has found this because it takes quite a lot to to find them. There's a few people that have transcended the self, the I, the me, the my, and then with those people that have transcended it, they've discovered the no-self, the helping others, the giving back, the making a difference, the making a contribution, others, people, humanity, the animals in the universe. So without transcending the self, you can't achieve or obtain the no-self. And if you can't achieve and obtain the no-self, selflessness and know thyself, and basically in faith, spirituality, fate, and religion, it's the know thyself that becomes everything because you know who you are, you know your life experiences, even down to your own suffering, pain, and adversity you've been through as a human being, you you actually know it. But it's hard to accept what you know when you know that self. It's hard to accept the no self, but it is it can be obtained, it is a is achievable. First, you have to overcome the self to obtain the no-self, and then when you obtain the no-self and achieve the no-self, then you become spiritually free and spiritually liberated. And basically, when you become spiritually free and spiritually liberated, you're just spiritual and your life becomes different. It's very unique. Um, it's hard to see in other people because they've always got a craving and some sort of attachment to something, it could be a religious thing, it could be a family thing, it could be a career or business, it could be volunteering or money or something materialistic, but they've always got an attachment or craving to that, so they never overcome it in their own life. So, for those people that are listening to this new series, go on the journey, discover it for yourself. And if you go on the journey and discover it for yourself, then spiritual freedom and spiritual liberation is what you'll find. When you find spiritual freedom and spiritual liberation, that's basically learning and understanding the no self, selflessness, and know that self. So I think I'll finish there. So I've explained the four noble truths, and um hopefully this will inspire those. listeners that listen to the podcasts. Okay, thank you now for listening this evening. Have a good Easter. Take care now.
