REPENTANCE IN BUDDHISM
In Buddhism, repentance can be considered as a continual process of sincere self-reflection and diligent self-discipline (through upholding the precepts), with the goal of purification and the unveiling of our innate and pristine Buddha Nature.

Hello everyone, my name is Christopher Liam Rose. I'm an author, mentor, life coach, motivational speaker, evangelist, musician, and activist. In the Christopher Liam Rose Monastery podcast, we're going to be sharing a sermon and a message for the Buddhist podcast. So I've created the Christopher Lee and Rose Monastery Podcast to basically talk about Buddhism and the teachings of the Buddha and share the importance of Buddhism, Jesus Christ, Jehovah and Buddha through our faith, spirituality, faith, and religion. So in this podcast today, we're going to be talking about repentance and what repentance is in Buddhism. So repentance in Buddhism can be considered as a continuing process of sincerity, self-reflection, and diggling self-discipline through upholding the precepts with the goal of purifying and unveiling of intent and prestige of Buddha's nature. So within the Buddhist tradition and within the Buddhist religion, when you come to Buddhism, you have to repent for your past life and what you did within the past, whether they were right things or wrong things. So coming into Buddhism and Sahata Ganama's uh tradition is basically purifying yourself from any unrighteousness, any dharma of like um a sinful life or a negative life or things that you've done wrong, and basically creating a positive dharma, spiritual dharma, where your past deeds and your past actions and your karma gets forgiven by the Lord Jesus Christ Jehovah and Buddha and you live a spiritual, faithful, truthful life. Now, in Buddhism, it's very important to realize that we all must repent for what we've done in the past. No human beings are perfect, we've all done wrong, we've all made mistakes. But if we want to connect to Jehovah, Jesus Christ, and Buddha in faith, spirituality, faith, and religion, we must repent for our past life and create a new life within the future. So nothing in your life has gone away because it's part of your karma and part of how your life is now. So your life is always moving forward into the spiritual future. So it's important to realize as well and learn that if you don't repent from your past life of what you've done before, you can't basically find that spiritual enlightenment and that spiritual change. Spiritual change and spiritual enlightenment comes to those people that have repented, that have turned their life into a new way, that want to live for Jesus Christ, your hover and Buddha, and do the work of faith, spirituality, faith, and religion in ministries and monasteries. So it's important that we repent and basically free ourselves from the suffering pair adversity of what we've experienced. And remember, in the Buddhist tradition, suffering pair adversity comes from our own selves, it comes from our self-ignorance and basically delusions of ourselves because we're not aware of our actions and we're not aware of our deeds and we're not aware of our consequences and choices and decisions. So it's important in Buddhism to repent. All human beings must repent, make the effort to repent. You can do it in a temple, you can do it with a um Buddhist leader, um, with a monk, with a nun. You can do it within your own temple, your own community of a Buddhist tradition or Buddhist community, but you must repent for your past sins and your actions, and then the spiritual dharma comes into your life where you live spiritual truth. So if we want to end suffering, pain, adversity, we must basically change ourselves, and changing ourselves is the hardest thing to do. No one wants to admit when they've done wrong, no one wants to admit when life has been unfair to them, or they've got past actions that are coming into the present or past karma. So it's important to rechange your life, rebuild your life, and find that spiritual essence within life. So remember with Buddhist Buddhism, repentance is very important. Um we need to repent, we need to clear our lives from past sins and past actions and bad karma and move into good karma, positive karma, and spiritual karma, and that takes time and that takes pa patience. And also within the Buddhist tradition as well, the Buddha was talking about the path to end suffering. So we're going to just quickly look at the um four noble truths. So four noble truths and Buddhism. So the four noble truths and Buddhism. So there's four noble truths, and the four noble truths are um just gonna find it. So dukkha, which is basically suffering, all human beings are gonna go through suffering due to dukkha. Then the fourth noble truth is some daily, which is the attachment, the craving. So um suffering, pain, and adversity comes from the craving of certain things, which causes the duca within our lives and makes us basically go through suffering, pain, and adversity. Navonia is basically um freeing yourself from the attachments of the craving, so letting go of the craving and letting go of your feelings and emotions and your desires, and then MAGA is the path to end um suffering pain and adversity. So the noble eightfold path that leads to spiritual enlightenment, spiritual truth, and spiritual change. So those are the four noble truths, and then we're just gonna quickly explain um the noble eightfold path, and this is what the Buddha was teaching us. But obviously, in order to do this, we must repent. We can only repent from our past if we're willing to go on a new journey and find who we really are. So it's very important that we we do repent from our past. So I'm just gonna read now the um eightfold path. So the eightfold path comes in eight different ways. So, right action, right speech, right livelihood with this ethical type of the eightfold path, the right mindfulness, right effort, right concentration. That's the meditation side, and then the third is the wisdom, right view, right intention. So these are the basically the noble eightfold path of Buddhism, and if we do the noble eightfold path in Buddhism, we actually connect to who we really are as a human being, our essence, our life, and who we are. And also, when it comes to repentance, it's very important to repent because if you don't repent from your past, you can't move into your spiritual future and your spiritual dharma. So it's very important to repent, and also just to add to what I've been discussing so far, it's also as well important to do the six spiritual practices prayer, meditation, mindfulness, walking, journaling, and silence is very important. Once you have repented, you've gone on the journey to purify yourself, forgive yourself for your past sins, asking God to purify you and help you in your walk in faith, spirituality, fate, and religion. Then you can do the seven levels of helping other people, which is part of your journey. So the seven levels of helping other people, level one, um, which is volunteering, the good level and helping other people, level two, jobs, careers, employment, the great level and helping other people, level three, business entrepreneurship, the highest level and helping other people, level four, faith and spiritual, the spiritual levels and helping other people, level five, spiritually helping other people who helping other people, the teacher levels and helping other people, level six, spiritually helping other people to spiritually change, the spiritual change levels and helping other people, and level seven, spiritually helping other people and spiritual truth, the spiritual enlightenment levels and helping other people. So by going on the journey of repentance, which is basically a journey of purifying yourself in Buddhism. You know the four noble four noble truths, you learn about the eightfold, the noble eightfold path, and then you do the six spiritual practices and the seven levels of helping other people, and that's the path of Buddhism, that's the path of your spirituality and your faith. When you go on this journey, it's going to be a very important journey to go on. Takes time, takes patience, takes commitment. Jehovah, Jesus Christ, and Buddha will change you in time, and you'll become a new human being. Once you become a new human being, then you discover the no-self, selflessness, and know thyself, which is a spiritual transformation of the psyche and the psychological mind. So the no-self, selflessness, know thyself is a spiritual transformation of the psyche and the psychological mind, which is so important in Buddhism and so important in life. So the spiritual change and the spiritual enlightenment comes from repentance. You have to repent before you become spiritually enlightened. So I hope this podcast has helped. I hope I hope that I've explained it uh carefully. And remember, repentance is your own personal journey. You have to make that commitment for yourself if you want to repent for your past sins or your past karma or your negative karma and move into the future of spiritual karma, positive karma, and good karma. So it's very important. Okay, thank you for listening now. Have a good day, take care, bye bye. Thanks.
