Man, we got a lot to uh we got a lot of fun discussions tonight. So everybody, let's go ahead and uh let's not bury the lead and let's get right down into this. Tonight, everybody, for episode 12, we have the first ever runner running out of breath runner shell tier list. Uh batted I, we've put a little thought into this behind the scenes, and uh we've had some little discussions about it, and we are more than thrilled to share with you all tonight our runner shell tier list, and uh that'll we'll we'll have a good time with that. We're gonna treat it as uh Batman, we we'll we're gonna go to Texas Roadhouse for a minute. You you ready to go to Texas Roadhouse with me? Yes, sir. Here's what I mean by that. We're gonna start out with the rolls, those good cinnamon butter, but extra buttery rolls that they bring out to you with the fan mail. And then we're gonna come in with the salad. And the salad is some war stories. We're gonna talk a little war stories because we've had a lot going on this weekend. We've had a lot going on, and then the steak, baby, the pork chop, the meat, the poultry, the beef, whatever you get down with, the that the main course is gonna be the tier list. So without further ado, let's get into those nice, sweet, savory, buttery rolls, baby, with some fan mail. And here we go. We got some fan mail from our boy Yellow Optimus. He says, Howdy, fellas. Hey, hey, that my guy right there is starting off with that. Just binged your episodes while working on the farm these past few days. I'm a teacher, a farmer, a and a dad of a dad of two, and a lover of bungee. Would love to try to link up sometime on Marathon. Could definitely use help out with outpost contracts. He provided his um, he provided his PSN. Um yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's see, let me skip forward. Looking forward to catching up with you, Old Town South. And he had a few questions for us, Bat. A couple of questions. Which runner shell is your personal favorite? Bat, we'll both, we'll both take this one. And I by the way, everybody, we uh I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna take us further into the future. We have since we have since this fan mail, not only have we talked we and we linked up with Yellow Optimus, but we have also ran some games with him. So we've got to know him a little bit. So at the time, he said, which Halo combat evolved map would best fit the vibe of Marathon, in your opinion. Thanks for the great podcast. Looking forward to more. Sincerely, Yellow Optimus. First things first, Matt, let's clap it up for Yellow Optimus. Ws, thank you. Appreciate the fan mail. We seriously appreciate you. We appreciate you, we appreciate that fan mail. Um, okay, so yikes. Uh this is a great fan mail question to the theme of what we're gonna be talking about tonight. I I I don't know. This is you you you putting the spotlight on me here, yellow. I I don't know at this time if I have a favorite runner shell. I have a main this season. If you knit for those, if you know you know, if you know you know, I got a main in season two, and I had a main in season one. I have actually not come to this decision yet of who is my all-around favorite runner. Back do you have an all-around favorite runner shell?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I wanna say yes, and it has changed since season one, but I don't know if I have an answer for season one.

SPEAKER_05

If that makes sense. Right.

SPEAKER_01

It's definitively in season two, like I know who it is, but I played a lot of different shells in season one, so it's kind of like uh I'm I might have to think about it before we get to the actual like.

SPEAKER_04

I know you're listening to us working on that farm right now. Be safe and stay hydrated, buddy. As you are listening to this podcast, look at me talk, look at me talking ahead in the future here. Look at me, I got my crystal ball. I got my crystal ball right here. Um, I will do so. So we'll I'm gonna leave a lot of meat on the bone with that question, and we will get into that as we get into the tier lists. As far as your Halo Combat Evolved question, this was kind of fun. And I'm gonna be honest, I I this mail was sent a little bit while ago. I've slept since then. We've played so many games, we've interacted with so many people. I have forgotten about this question, so I took time and I took a quick look at some old, I reminisced on some old Halo Combat Evolved maps. Man, there was like Battle Creek, Blood Gulch, Chill Out, Hang Em High, Ice Fields, Rat Race, dude. There was so many great Halo Combat Evolved maps. For me, I'm gonna say uh Blood Gulch, that on that map almost looks like perimeter in some ways. That that that looks like that could definitely be uh a marathon map. And I think one that would be that would be interesting for marathon would be ice fields. You know, they've already monkeyed around a little bit with with cryo and ice and cold cold hint cryo archive, but you know, a full-blown ice map. Hey, I'm I'm here for it. I'm pretty much at this point down for any new content, and I'm gonna be excited for any new content that Bungie gives us. Sorry, yellow, that was not the best answer. I'm thinking from that question, Blood Gulch would probably be the best one, but that's to be continued when we have our own private conversations or we record the next episode. I may have I may have a different opinion by then. So, all right, that was the fan mail from Yellow Optimus, and we actually have some more. Here we go. Let me scroll down, scroll down, scroll down. No, that's not it. Let's see here. I might have to call in Batman to be some filler. No, Batman does not have to be filler. I found it. I was trying, I was trying to pre I was trying by dang this to prevent awkward silence. Okay, so we have okay, so this gentleman here that sent us some fan mail has made appearances in our live streams. He was Atlas Forged was the first fan mail and the first guy to appear in stream. But this gentleman right here was number two. When we're always telling y'all, get y'all's butt over to our streams. This man, way back when, answered the call and he got his butt over to our stream. He was the second one, and that is from Wesley Pez. And also, spoiler alert, everybody. We have also linked up with Wesley and played and ran games with Wesley. So, dude, it's just the the the cult is coming together. The family, the running out of breath family, it's coming together, dude. Here is what he had to say. Now, this one's a little bit of a long one. Hey, old town, Wesley Pez here. Hope you guys are doing good. I sent this to my friend and figured I'd send it to your way as well. He said, It's no pressure to read it on the podcast. Hey, we're live right now. Hot lol. Sometimes I wake up early and get a few runs in before the kids wake up. And this morning had a lot of ups and downs during which I lost so much freaking stuff. Come on our condolences. Our way, our condolences, Wesle. Rip to the loot, rip to the loot. I hope you enjoy. Uh keep up the good work, he says. I so he goes, he's what he said. I had a Traxxas contract I was attempting as a thief that took me to complex on Nightmarsh. And all these runs were Nightmarsh on Thief. My first run I had a I had blue and purple gear after looting blue and purple gear slash loot after a runner stumbled into my path who had crazy loot and a key into the locked upper complex room. I stupidly tried to do it myself and got swarmed by the UESC and died. My second run, I was running alongside the back of quarantine. Oh god, quarantine. I was running on the back side of quarantine. I loaded up with all blue again, he says in parentheses. I saw a destroyer immediately, and I was like, eh, I don't want to mess up his run immediately. Uh-oh, he showed mercy, Vat. He showed mercy. Let's see what this story turns in. Let's see how this ends. And then after, oh, there's my eBay going off. And then after I let him pass, I started running towards bio. And this the same guy shot me in the back. LOL. Oh no. Oh. Okay. Hate to see it. Hate to see it, man. I got we got one last paragraph. And then I spawned in the same spot. I'm assuming this is the third run. By this point, I was irritated and loaded up with my fancy gun, figuring I just wanted a good run. Been there, Wesley. But then got killed by an assassin. As as an assassin, I was hunting in bio after using a tad to spot him. I just wasn't playing smart enough. And he was more patient than me. And then I spawned again in complex with okay-ish gear now and used a tad and spotted a guy who I swapped fire with. We downed each other at the same time and held hands as we bled out. What a travesty. What a tragedy. Oh man, that's a lot to unpack. Thank you, uh, Bat. Let's clap it over, Wesley. Thank you, Wesley. Thank you. Let's go. W's. Thank you, Wesley, for the fan mail, brother. Um I I can unpack a few things from this. So, as far as the you know, disclaimer, um, everybody play how you want to play. You know, some people, you know, have fun with trying to show mercy. Some people enjoy social interaction. Some people, like me, sometimes just see red and gun everybody down on site. Um, I will I will say, Wesley, you know, I feel like Marathon is a shoot first, ask questions later kind of game. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I don't know. You got you all listening right now, you you uh you you come up, you you be the you be the judge, jury, executioner of that question. But I do feel like marathon is a shoot first, ask questions later game right now. So Wesley, if you ever, uh I would say maybe this would sort of help if you were it to prevent maybe people from getting back at you later, but you don't want to, if you see somebody and you don't want to take them out right off the rip, maybe you could try potentially having a social interaction, getting on the mic and seeing if they do want to team up. And that also is no guarantee that they won't double cross you at the finish line. But um, if if there's no interaction or whatever, most of the time they're gonna turn around and they're gonna shoot you. But again, man, um you play ex you play how you want to, brother. But um I I thought I would throw that out there maybe to prevent a situation like that from happening again. A lot of what I read here has been me and Bats nights, dude. The just the frustration building up, and I and I'll tell you something else that I pulled from from this fan mail. Tilt, you know, if you ever heard of that, have you ever heard of tilt cue? Yeah. Me and you have uh partaken in that before in other games. Marathon punishes you for tilt cue tilt cueing even more than other games. And I don't know if you've ever thought about this before. Overwatch, you know, you may lose some rank and ranked. You may lose your you may lose your uh your platinum rank and go back to gold one, but at the end of the day, you're not losing loot or anything like that, you know, whatever. Um tilt cueing and call of duty, you know, you're you may lose you you may lose some uh a kill-death ratio or whatever it is. I haven't played Call of Duty forever, you know. You know, uh tilt cueing a lot of these games, but I feel like if there was a game out there that you want to avoid tilt queuing at all cost, it's marathon. Because if you're tilted, you're not focused. If you're tilted, you're not always locked in and you're playing more emotional. And it and playing emotional and tilted can sometimes make you make decisions that you wouldn't normally. Um, that is something I tilt cueing is actually something I have improved on in season two. I I personally feel like I do a better job. Marathon season two versus season one is and I feel like we bat do a better job of this. We don't bang our head, we we don't bang our heads against the wall as bad in season two if something is not going right. We don't just to a fault load into Dire Marsh and to try to do contracts, or we don't try to just it's like if contra if something is not going right, we switch gears. We ch we try to get momentum back. Does that make sense? We change it up, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I think it's a little bit easier this season with them having obviously uh Nightmarsh and then the sponsored kit, so you have a little bit of reprieve instead of just the same four maps over and over and over again, running the same as over.

SPEAKER_04

Agreed, agreed. Great, great feedback. And I would urge all of our people that listen, uh, this is a skill in and of itself. If you're catching yourself kind of tilt cueing, getting fed up, getting frustrated. This is a game where unless you're playing the free kit mode, you lose things. If you're finding yourself in a just all worked up and it's just one of those nights where things are not going right, I would encourage you to do a couple of things. Number one, take a moment, breathe, try to get the momentum back, change it up. As bad as you're as determined as you are to do that contract, if it's been four or five runs and you've failed and you're you're getting worked up, you know, try to change the momentum, change the pace, maybe try a different mode. Uh maybe you need to take a break from the game. You know, do whatever it is you need to do to not continue to to spiral, to snowball. And next thing you know, you've lost 30 to 50 grand worth of worth of credits of loot. It can happen, especially if you farm, if you play a lot of cryo archive. Um, it can happen really, really fast. So, yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, I I got a little bit on a little bit of on a tangent there, but again, thank you, Wesley, for the fan mail and everything. Okay, bat. Uh, let's see here. Next thing, we're gonna go to war stories. Now, this part is we will try the with these war stories that we have, dude. We could honestly talk for the remainder of the night. We will do our best to kind of hit the high points of these war stories. We're gonna start off with one of the the premiere ones, the feature ones. The perimeter tunnel key room slaughter. Let me tell you all something. This was on stream. This video is not currently uploaded to YouTube, but it's coming, and I will let everybody know when it when it is on YouTube. But we had a game, it was me fallen and Batman, and it was just pure cinema, dude. We had a key on perimeter and we went down into the tunnels. We've got some history with these tunnels. Me fallen and me, Atlas, and fallen in that same key room had a you know, what was that was that very tragic story where we had a good game, we wiped almost the whole map, but the final team caught us off guard and they gunned us down. It was that spot again. But this time was different, and I think this is growth that and this is good to reminisce about this. This is growth in the flesh. We intentionally was ready for runners, we were intentionally anticipating multiple scenarios. We I set up frost mines by the door, I set on claymores on each side, and we were just we had guards set up. I think one of y'all was watching, we were just ready for people this time, and boy did our defenses pay off. We opened that key room, and I kid you not, everybody, about 20 seconds later, after we opened maybe not even 20 seconds after we opened that key room, we were immediately pushed by another team, and then I'll be dang, we had to start fighting them off, and one of them ran into my flop frost mine in Claymore, which it was absolutely hilarious, and it stopped their momentum where they could not fully commit to the push. Then that we start. If you remember, we had to fight another team that was coming from another direction. So I would go to say statistically, our odds of winning that fight being the meat between two bread slices was pretty grim. It's quite amazing that we fought off two teams. I remember at one point I saw you fighting on the other end, you made the call out, or no, it was fought because you were I think you were muted.

SPEAKER_01

It was, and I'm still mad about it.

SPEAKER_04

I was about to say, I think you were muted. Fallen made the call out, somebody else is another team is pushing on the other side. I remember in that moment thinking, I have got to hold this door with everything I got. If I don't hold this door, they're gonna get angle on you two. And buddy, I held that door. I peppered them with my bully, and I pet I threw everything I had at them, and I kept them son of a guns at bay, and I got a down. I think I might even have got two downs, and it was so chaotic, Bat. I can't really even put that fight into words. I went in, I went absolute ape crazy after we lost, after we won that fight, dude. I was I was on a uh such a high dopamine hit winning that fight because statistically, being sandwiched between two separate teams, we should not have won that fight. We should not have survived that fight. But you know what? The stars aligned, the brakes went our way, we came out on top, and we put six bodies in the dirt, claimed their loot, and met and retained our key room loot. Bat, any thoughts on that fight alone?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, um, so like immediately going into it, I had remembered that it was the key room in particular from your previous story. So unfortunately, I was muted this entire game until after we had won our fight. Um, but as soon as we got down there, I posted up behind a thing and I was like, Okay, guys, I'm gonna watch it. You go ahead and loot. You're bringing the key, I'll keep watch. It was 10. Seconds. I maybe not even 10. Literally, you guys opened the door, the buzzer went off, the doors opened, you stepped foot in, and I heard footsteps. Jesus, dude. Yeah. And so I'm calling it out, and I'm I'm I'm waiting, I'm waiting, I'm waiting. I hear a door, I hear your claymore. So I peek out and I shoot, and then I I hear the other team coming. And I'm giving call-outs this entire time. Nobody's hearing. I'm so mad. But uh Old Town went to the one door, held it down, and fallen was on the other door, and I just kept going back and forth, just peppering anything that I saw move through those doors. Yes. And I think that just the combined effort of everybody in that moment is why we triumphed. Even though I wasn't giving call-outs so you guys could hear, everything was playing perfectly because we have the center.

SPEAKER_04

I agree. The center, I think the three things that saved us, number one, what you said, we have that chemistry. We had the synergy, we played off each other in a high, we've we've been in these high tense scenarios before. Number two, we were ready. We we took our own advice, we were ready for these fools. We knew as soon as we opened that door, they will come. Lord of the Rings reference. They are coming. We knew they would. And and three, going back and watching the tape, if both of these teams would have been a team of purples, we probably would have been cooked. Luckily, it was a mix of blue shields, green shields, and gray. It was a mix that one team had greens and grays, the other team had blues. It was just, it was a blend. Had these been purple shielded teams, this would have been a doozy, and that we probably don't serve if both teams, especially if both of them would have been purples, I don't think we could have fended them off. Um, but the stars aligned, and we did. We fended these guys off. The objective numbers from that game, Batman 44, two kills, three downs, 419 damage. Old Town South, two kills, one down, 773 damage. Fallen 31, one kill, one down, 472 damage. Based off these numbers, one of them did get away. So that's actually interesting looking back on these numbers. One of them fools got away. And they better run, baby. They don't want none of this. They better run. So that was a very iconic moment. I cannot wait to post that video to YouTube. Everybody, all of our listeners, be be looking out for notify if you haven't turned um, come on over and subscribe to me on YouTube. And if you haven't hit that bell for notifications, definitely hit that bell because I will be uh if you enjoy, by the way, disclaimer, if you enjoy keeping up with me and my content, um, I will be posting that video. And I'll probably condense it down to just that fight alone. So be looking out for that, everybody, so you can see it for yourself. Uh, I got a third war story here. The me I that's called the Mizzy Wake Up Call. Bat. All I'm gonna say about this game is we act this was me, you, and Atlas Forged. We did not survive this match, but Jesus, I brought the Miz Rayah, this game, and I was, and this is on TikTok. This was my last TikTok short that I uploaded. Um, I uploaded all four of those kills from that game. Dude, the Miz Rayah is just oh my gosh, dude. I was reminded that game how good that gun is. It is a dean, it is a demon. I know they put the um they they put the KKV to try to combat the shotgun meta, but dude, I I don't think if you if you got some movement and you get close enough to him, you're the KKV's not gonna fend off a Mizrah, dude. That might be a hot take, but like it the god dude, the the Mizraya is so good. It almost at times felt a little effortlessly. Because like I went back and watched the table, dude. I was like 20 health. All the guy had to do was shoot me one time and I would have gone down, but that's how strong the Mizraya is. I one-tapped him. It's such a good gun, man. So um I would tell everybody, um, don't be surprised. July 20. Now I don't I don't know. I don't know. I'm just a guy, but I've got this feeling in my gut. Another Mizzy nerf is coming. So I would encourage everybody, since the Mizraya has a schema in the battle pass this season, use them, use them while you got them, use it before it gets nerfed. I don't know. Don't don't kill me, guys. If it I I I have no sources, I have no information. This is just old town's intuition. I think the misreah might catch another nerf. Use it now. If you've got one, kit it and uh go into Outpost or Cryo Archive and have some fun with it. Um, okay. So Batman, this next story I'm gonna tell is uh Z Tangler in Atlas, especially Atlas in particular, when he as he's listening to this, he's gonna get a chuckle out of this one. You weren't in this game. This one's called the 1245 a.m. Bluff Disaster on Penwheel. So we were we had a game. It was me, Tangler, and I and Atlas. It was going pretty good. It was a pretty solid game. We had three green keys and we were getting ready to go into Penwheel. Interestingly enough, I made the call out hey guys, be careful. When that barricade comes down, I've been gunned down before by the team up in Penwheel, waiting for that barrier to come down. When that barrier came down, I walked over to climb the ladder. I started getting peppered by the team above in Penwheel. I got out, I didn't go down, and I remember saying that that's what they do. Um, so then it turned into a very interesting standoff. They had a recon, they were trying to throw spider drones at us, if memory serves me right. There was a few bullets exchanged, but it really turned into a to a Cold War standoff. They were waiting for us to come up, we were waiting for them to come down. It became apparent after about three minutes of guns pointed forward. Both of these teams are smart enough not to compromise their positioning. Even so, like actually, we would have had advantage if they would have jumped down, but obviously it'd have been a death sentence if we would have tried to have gone up. So we we we we understood the situation. So I told Atlas, I made a call out, hey Atlas, be thinking of a plan. We gotta do something. We we can't push them like this. So then Atlas came up with a plan. Looking at it back on hindsight, it was a really good plan. Unfortunately, I fumbled it. Here we go. We're gonna get into that. So Atlas came up with this idea of we're gonna do a huge, massive rotation. And he was like, I'm gonna call down, well, he he said it in a different way, but what he was meaning was I'm gonna call down the drone elevator, the drone wing elevator, you know, like the conveyance request thing. He's like, I'm gonna call that down, we're gonna bluff them, and then we're gonna enter pinwheels somewhere else. That was the actual plan. I missed now. A beautiful moment came out of this. I don't gotta take a drink. I'm losing my voice. A beautiful moment came out. It's gonna get interesting, I swear. So what happened was I misunderstood the call out, and it's ultimately on me for not making for not vocalizing. I don't understand the plan. I won't make that mistake again, but again, we're all more people are starting to come into the fold. We gotta learn each other. We gotta, we gotta, we gotta learn it, we gotta build that chemistry. That we hey, challenge to me and you. It ain't just about me and you no more and fallen. We gotta start building chemistry with our new people that's coming in. We gotta start learning how they play and their call-outs and everything. So it was a moment of it's ultimately on me for not saying I don't understand the plan. What old town did was I thought Atlas was saying, like, hey, old town, go up the conveyance request and I'll flank around. Looking back at it, that makes absolutely no sense at all. But that's how I took it at the time. So what do I do? He called in the conveyance request, the elevator, and me and Tangler went up it, and we started getting peppered by this same team again. Ironically, we survived that. Should have been a situation they had us dead rights, we should have died there. I used my smoke and we got out, and then it turned into attrition. They gave up Pinwheel to jump down and fight us, and it was just all out warfare. We ended up that it turned into a 2v1 with me and Atlas versus one. We got two of them homies down, and me and Atlas was still up. But this story has a sad ending. It was an assassin. I saw him and I heard him go invisible below us. It's kind of hard to describe where we was. I pushed too aggressively, and I caught bad RNG with the bot. I took a bunch of shots from the robots. I was forced to have to duck down and heal. The assassin came over, one tap me. It turned into a very unnecessary 1v1. Then, but nevertheless, it turned into a 1v1 Atlas versus the assassin. The guy got hot, he hit all of his Magnum shots, and he downed Atlas. Atlas almost had him, dude. He had to have not had hardly any health, but he hit but Atlas said he hit all of his Magnum shots, and he won. He won the 2v1 against us. So it was a very hard, and that was one of the you ever notice that we have those moments where the the air just kind of leaves the room when you have like a game like that. That was our game where the air just kind of left the room. I'm normally the one putting off the energy. That was the moment and let me make something very clear. There was no ill will, there was no words and not like that at all. You could just tell that was kind of the moment where we were all like, ah, so we were so close. Dang it. But we learned something very important from that. Atlas pointed out, he said, Old town, next time you if there's if we have numbers advantage and you see the moment, just say, I'm pushing ruthlessly, and I will drop everything I'm doing, and I will come with you. And I said, Got it. And the very next game that we had a situation that presented itself. It was a 2v1, me and Atlas versus one guy left, and I called out, I'm pushing ruthlessly. And he came with me, and we utilized our numbers. The moral of the story is for all of our listeners, if you've got numbers, don't do what I did in that scenario. I'm really bad to see a vision, see somebody. This is a skill I'm still working on. I see somebody run, I blindly chase, not knowing what's around me as I'm blindly chasing. I did it again in that moment. Had I just chose patience and had we had just taken that guy 2v1, we would have won that fight. Um, but obviously that's not what happened. Utilize your numbers. Don't turn, don't, don't turn a 3v1 into a 1v1, 1v1, 1v1. Don't turn a 2v1 into a 1v1, 1v1. Use your numbers. Somebody make the call out. Let's push this guy. We have numbers. Everybody go now. Whatever the call out is, whatever works for you and your team, communicate it. Say, go, everybody, drop what you're let's go, let's go, let's finish this guy. Let's use our combined health pull and let's take this guy down. I get it though, man. I I get impatient, and sometimes the moment almost becomes too big for me, and I find a way to fumble it still. It's just something I'm working on. It's just something I'm working on. But that was the beautiful moment. We have not made that mistake since then. Me and Atlas, we went Tangler, we built some chemistry from that moment right there. And I promise you, if it if when we're when us through, when we're a team again, we won't make that mistake again. If somebody's pushing, that call out will be made and we will all converge as a team. Okay, let's talk about bat before we get into the we're setting at 36 minutes. So let's get into let's talk about one or two more war stories and let's get in it. It's time to get into the stake, the tier list. We don't want we don't want to bury the lead too long. So that um the 4th of July this weekend, dude, my brother, what a great weekend it has been on Marathon. Me and you, we were just on fire, man, this weekend. Um yesterday, July 4th, was uh to my knowledge, the very first night we've had possibly ever playing marathon where we ran consecutive games and we went flawless. I think we played like five games with Atlas, and we never died, we never wiped, we X-filled every single time. It was amazing. We got so many priority contracts done. I got like three Sekagucci contracts done. You got like two or you fin you finished Sekagucchi. We literally and and Nucalore. Like it was, I mean, it just oh my gosh, dude. That might never happen again. That might actually never happen. We might order to I wish I'd have been streaming. I wish one of us would be streaming because that might never happen again, dude. Everything was just working. It felt so good, bat, the breaks for once. Everything going right. Just everything went right that night, man. And it felt so dang good, man. Um, I want to give some specific call-outs for one of the matches we had. There was a game, dude, where basically we had uh we had 10 runner kills, man. Um I don't really remember I don't remember the game, and I don't remember like specifically which one it was or whatever, but I know there was one match, dude, where I just basically laid back in my chair and you and Atlas just did all the work. You guys were the heroes, man. Like there was I I wrote this down, dude. One game, Atlas had seven kills, runner kill, runner elims in over 1,000 runner damage, and you bat had three runner elims in over 900 runner damage. Every time there was a fight, there was a call out made, and next thing I know, bodies are just hitting the floor. I'm like, oh, okay, they're they're dead. Like, okay, no, I mean my boys just took care. Okay, hey, I'm just gonna grab this unstable biomass. Um that man just took care of him. Um, you were on fire, dude. I mean, that very first team, I think you killed like everybody at Bio Research. I mean, I think you you won V3, dude. No, nope, nope. Atlas killed two of them. Atlas did kill two. Okay, okay. But I you guys, I I remember not doing diddly squat. I was just there. And you guys put in all the work, bro. Um Atlas, man, he had some really good, he got to flex his snipe skills a little bit, and then he's been holding back. He's been holding. I I'm watching you, Atlas. I see you mowing that grass right now. You you you I'm watching you. You holding out on me on those sniping skills. Can you keep you uh bring some of that back next time we play, dude? Bring some of that back. But no, he had some uh he had some really good snipes, man. And a lot of times in these engagements, we led off of his snipes. Yep. Like that's what we led with. And uh it was just God, it was good, dude. We got in that very the one moment I really remember is where I kind of where I contributed was we got into that very interesting standoff where we was at we was on top of algae ponds, we was on that building, and the other team was how in the world do I describe this bat? Were they at intersection? Okay, they were in some they were on top of a building at intersection that I had no clue you could even get on top of. Yeah, and it it was it it was a poke fight for a while. But go ahead, hey, you you go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

Well, what yeah, go ahead and talk talk about your so like the intersection, they had one person posted in a building with a sniper, they had one person on top of the long building, and then there was a third person in between on the lower building, um where you can close the shutters. So they were spread out in that little section there, and anytime you peeked out, it was just um it was horrifying, but it it played out so well, and I I want to say that it was probably one of the cleanest fights that we've ever done as a team. Yes, um, and I do want to mention that this is the first marathon video that I have posted on my YouTube.

SPEAKER_04

Woo right now. You'll have to flex that at the end, dude. Unless you want to flex it right now.

SPEAKER_01

It's just the same name, true Batman4444. There's a whole bunch of other old videos because I don't post on there anymore. But this one was so good I I had to edit it a little throw it up there so that maybe my boys could watch it and kind of see what my perspective looked like. And then they can get a glimpse into the mind of Batman.

SPEAKER_04

Love it, dude. Everybody go over to True Batman 4444 on YouTube and you can watch this video. I will definitely be going over to True Batman 4444 on YouTube because I can't wait to watch that from your per from your perspective. Um the only really thing that I did that that whole game beside be present, I was able to get around them, guys. I did, yeah, I did the contract.

SPEAKER_00

He stood in a room that was blocked and just stood there. I got a gun, I got a gun.

SPEAKER_04

I got a gun. I think there was only one bot that made it in and let me tell you something, Bat. If you and Atlas can do that for the rest of our marathon cook journey, I'll just sit back. I'll have me I'll have me a Sprite. I'll be butt naked, not on stream. Off stream. I'll just sit here butt naked and just be like, hey, you guys just take go take care. Do it. We got this. I'll just write, I'll just follow us. I'll just follow along, baby. Oh my God, dude. But y'all done so well. I was able to in that fight. I was able, and I don't know if it'll be caught from your POV. I was able to get a flank on them, and I threw two flushettes at them, and it did some damage. And I actually did down the van the vandal, and that allowed Atlas to go up. And when he did charge them on top of that roof, I think they were all three just crawling around down. Yeah. And I think he just one by one ganked them. Yeah, it's like as soon as he got on the roof, he's like, good, good, good fight, boys. I'm like, oh, they're Yeah, yeah. So that was uh that was uh that was a really that was an attrition fight there. That was I cannot wait to go back and rewatch that one. Okay, we've got uh real quick, we're gonna go through these real quick. Batman now, war story number six on your notes. So this one, this may not seem like a big moment, but it meant a lot to me. Do you remember that same night where we were playing Daymars? We was doing a contract, something was wanting us to go. We had come from complex, we were on top of the building at BioResearch, and we saw the purple shielded guy guarding the door. At the time, we did not know what he was doing right there. I was trying to get it, it was, it was, it was a very like cat and mouse type cold war type of fight because no bullets were fired, but I'm pretty sure he saw us, and I of course I obviously saw him. What we now know is they were hitting a key room. And do you remember me earlier saying, guys, I think I heard a key room, but nobody else heard it?

SPEAKER_01

No, I I had called out it was probably in bioresearch, but we never moved on.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we never really moved. We we never, yeah, yeah, we didn't really move on, but I was thinking I'd heard it. What we didn't know then that we know now is they were hitting a key room at bioresearch. Um, so anyways, fast forwarding the story, we were on top of the building across from the main one, kind of like the the the the perpendicular one or the linear perpendicular one to the main bioresearch building where you do all your contracts and you there they're the key room is we were I was I had my sniper, I was watching them. Well, then I heard shooting at complex. And I sit there and I said to myself, we do not need to be the team that is sandwiched between these two teams. We do not need, we need to be the bread. We need to be the buns, baby, not the burger, not the meat. We need to be the bread. So I was thinking to myself, this might be a controversial call, and this could, this might, if this doesn't go right, this might kill some of y'all's trust in me. But I made a I made a little bit of a risky call out. I said, let's go back to complex and let's deal with those guys so we are not caught between these two fools. I am so happy to sit here and announce my intuition served me correct. We went back, there was a team there at complex, we took care of business, we defeated them, and then by the time we got back around to bioresearch, the purple shielded team was gone, and we never saw them again when we completed our contract. Looking back on it, what could have went very south with that moment the bioresearch team could have heard us fighting and then they could have third partied. We got we caught some luck. We did catch some luck that they chose to not push on that audio. But I I I I I it made me feel good to make the correct call out. Like I did to say, hey guys, let's try this. And it actually worked, it paid off. It it would have felt really like and that would have shattered me a little bit if that would have gone haywire. I know y'all would still trust me, but you but do you get what I mean? Like it it felt good to be like, I see a vision, I think I I I've seen how this story ends if we're caught between these teams. Let's take the initiative, let's go back and let's deal with those guys. And we did. And it works.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it always sucks when like you make a call out and it's the thing that run. I've done it multiple times. Um but yeah, it it is it's almost euphoric when when you make a call and it's it's the thing that saves your run. And I kind of felt that today when we were running Xanim. Um and we the very last one that we did, like, can we go to maintenance or greenhouse? I'm like, we're gonna greenhouse. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I think just because we went the opposite direction, I think that's the reason that we're able to finally make it out and get that done for him. Yes, do I know that for certain? No. But it it felt good that it was like, I'm just gonna make this one suggestion, and it just snowballed from there.

SPEAKER_05

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah, I get what you're saying. It's a good feeling.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it's a really good feeling. Hey, Bat, I'm gonna give you a really quick I'm gonna read this final war story. I'm gonna give you a little bit of heads up. Some of your words are kind of cutting in and out. I don't know if it's the fan, because I noticed a couple of parts, like there was like a one to two second pause in between with what you were saying. So uh I will get into overall, I can still hear you okay. I thought I'd just give you a little bit of a heads up before we get into the tier list section. Sometimes when you talk, there's about a one to two second like mute, like it's like where we can't hear you. So I thought I'd give you a little bit of a heads up on that.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, everybody. I will say that sometimes it happens, but when I go back and look at the recording Spotify, it's looking so like basic Discord.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. So, like right now, like there was a couple of gaps in like what you said right there. Those couple of gaps. So you're good, you're good. All right, everybody, I will leave the charge right here for this final war story while he makes a couple little halftime adjustments. So our final war story happened today, actually. And this was a very this was cool, this was a fun team because this was the running out of breath listeners, everybody coming together. We had a run that we have coined the Ocean 11 Red Key Room Heist, and I was with Xanam and Yellow Optimus for this run. And what was crazy about this run is we it was all a like a big mistake. We were intending to load into sponsored PvP sponsored dire marsh, and we were gonna call it a day on that one. I don't know what went wrong. Matchmaking, matchmaking today uh was weird. Like I would select a playlist, but that would not be the same set playlist if I cued us again. It happened three times, and it was honestly really frustrating. But, anyways, so we were never intending on going to outpost, but that's where the game took us. And long story short, this was such a fun run, man. We was a free kit, we stumbled across a graveyard of bodies where two teams had just been absolutely duking it out with each other, and there was one lone survivor healing his teammate, and I gunned him down like a dog.

SPEAKER_03

I gunned him down like a dog.

SPEAKER_04

No mercy, nobody lives, everybody dies, and gunned him down, all the loot was ours for the taking. Now, these body bags, some of them had some decent stuff, some it was kind of a blend between mild geared runners and free kit runners, but there was body bags all over the place. We had found two red keys amongst these six body bags. We went on the catwalk, we grabbed the third red key, and I was like, guys, I was like, let's pull off a bank heist, let's freaking go hit the red room in pinwheel off these free kits. And dude, it was so fun, man. We it was it was hell trying to get into pinwheel with free kits. It was rough. Some some situations were a lot more intense than they normally are when you're geared, but we got in there, dude. We hit the red, we hit the we hit the red room. Shout out to my boys, shout out to my boys Yellow Optimus and Xanim. They hit the first like container, the or like the pill, whatever everybody calls it, different things. I went around. They were kind enough to allow me to have the gold slash prestige um assassin core that they found in there. And there was also a purple superior assassin core in there. Them guys are freaking awesome. They were kind enough to know that I've been playing Assassin and they wanted me to have that. It was awesome, dude. They got some good gear. I found a cryo vault five key in there. So I got out with like that. Dude, it was so awesome. They got out with good, I got out with good stuff. They got out with good stuff. It was honestly, I wish I would have been streaming so bad. But shout out to you, Xanam and Yellow Optimists, when you listen to this. Thank you guys for that fun run. Thank y'all for letting me have that gold assassin core that really means a lot to me. And I hope you guys got some great gear from that as well. True Batman 4444, the time has come. We have we have stuffed our bellies with sweet cinnamon butter rolls. We have indulged in a Caesar or a cob salad, whatever rocks your boat, and it is time for the ribeye steak. Are you ready? Well, just like at Texas Roadhouse, I'm already full.

SPEAKER_00

But I'll stuff it in.

SPEAKER_04

Let's stuff that in, babe. By the way, you sound ten times better now. Yeah, yeah, it was the fan. Yeah, you sound better. It's so hot in my room, and I apologize. Trust me, I I feel you, brother. This this July heat, man. This July heat. Okay, everybody. The format will be exactly the same as when we did the weapon tier list. D, dukey tier, C, it's I eight. It's I8, B tier, solid. Not great, not bad, but it's solid. It's fine. B tier, A tier, it's very good. Would highly recommend it. And S tier, it's it's it's meta. It's it's really good. It's S tier. We will be really the last thing for me to throw in. We are gonna have two tier lists. We're gonna have one tier list for trios, and we're gonna have a completely separate tier list for solos. It is time without further ado. Let us let us get into this. I think we will start with Destroyer as our very first runner shell. I am going to fire out the gates. I have destroyer in the S tier. In trio, by the way, oh, trios. This is trios, everybody. We're we're talking trios. I have destroyer in the S tier. Um, I'm a big fan of this shell. I think search and destroy his prime is such a good ultimate. Uh sorry, I call them ult, but they're primes, but I call it ult. I think search and destroy is such a good ult, dude. It's so good against ads, it's so good against bosses, it can even help you out in your PvP. They can whiff out assassins in smoke with search and destroy. They are so much more versatile than meets the eye. Though that that thrust, dude, that can save you from from fall damage. It can put you in positions that that normal runners may not can get to, except for like a vandal. Um, you can use those thrusters to bob and weave through gunfights. I see the fragfather do this all the time. Fragfather is always posting these insane videos of him bobbing and weaving with the destroyer's thrusts. He is the destroyer dude, is just such a well-rounded versatile enforcer. Um, I he's the hardest to learn, in my opinion, because he has a high skill set on it. He also has a riot barricade. To me, that's the hardest part of his kit to use, and it's interesting because you would think that would be the easiest thing to use. But to me, I have the most difficulty using his riot barricade at the right times. But if you can use that well, it's so clutch, dude. It can save you from PvE, it can save you from PvP. The destroyer even has he can even sprint faster than the other runners. Now, it's at the cost of extra generated heat, but you're literally boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. You're running faster than anybody else. Um, except for maybe outside. I don't even know about Vandal. Well, Vandal and Herald, that I guess I I don't know. I I've never tested that, but I've got the I've got the destroyer in S tier. I think this is such this. He's I've got there's three runner shells that I get excited about when I see one of these three runner shells are on my team. One of them's the destroyer bat. What you think?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, full on uh disclaimer right off the bat. This is Batman's tier list. This is my personal feelings toward the shells. And I I went into it thinking what I would pick to play. Um, I I I don't know if I really went the same like thought process as old town as far as like just being in the group, like what they can bring to the table. So I apologize if it's a little different.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, everybody. Hey, and at the end of the day, I should have said that. Everybody listening, at the end of the day, regardless of what you're about to hear coming out of our mouths, is subjective.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's it's my personal opinion. Uh so for the trio tier list, I have the destroyer actually B tier.

SPEAKER_03

Um Did you say D? Sorry, I'm losing my voice. D tier! B. Oh, B, okay. I was like, whoa, we're on Polaropno.

SPEAKER_02

No. Um for starters, Atlas would probably shank me if you ever saw me in real life.

SPEAKER_01

Um, um, the reason I have him in in uh the B tier is because for me, he's such a mechanic heavy character to utilize him the way he should be. I personally struggle with mechanics when it comes to shells, so it it's just something that I struggle with a lot. Um but in the right hands, the the destroyer is very, very good. I've seen Atlas pull off some stuff that I know I could never do. Um, so I don't think it's like a terrible shell. I just know that I'm not good with it. So I would I I wouldn't put it in an A because there are other shells that would come.

SPEAKER_04

Even with you saying he's in B tier, you're still acknowledging you're still acknowledging this is a good runner shell. Yes, yes, absolutely. I mean, I I've said it before when we did the weapon one. B is good. If we put something in B, we recommend it. Like it's it's it's still really rock solid.

SPEAKER_01

And a lot of this, I think the the subjectiveness is a lot of playstyle per person. You know, somebody's gonna put the destroyer higher if they're gonna be somebody that is aggressive versus somebody that wants to sit back and like help. So that's also a a clear viewpoint with this. Okay. So tier list, but it's not 100% this is what you need to do.

SPEAKER_04

So, hey, this is the first time we're ever gonna do this. I am tremendously losing my voice really bad right now. I'm going to get me some water, Bat, take over the podcast, and talk to everybody about as I will still be listening to you as I'm walking off to get water. Lead with assassin. Um, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Do you just want to finish the trio or do you wanna do the solos? Trio. We'll finish we'll finish trio. Okay, we'll just do trio. Okay, so uh for the trio tier list, I have the assassin not written down because I suck. Um I'm gonna say that I would probably put the assassin in B tier with the destroyer. Um, I know that's gonna be a hot take. A lot of people are gonna hate me. A lot of people are gonna say, okay, no, that makes sense. And some people are gonna be like, Yes. Um again, believe it or not, I I know his kit is simple. I struggle a lot with knowing like when to put down smoke, when to jump off of a building. You know, I the invisible invisibility is easy. Um to know like okay, I have a team coming, I need to go invisible and kind of shimmy this way. Um but I am not somebody that likes to hide around corners or be invisible to get to a different height. I would rather have somebody shoot me because I was in a stupid spot out in the open than be invisible. That's just a personal thing for me. Um a lot of other people play him aggressively, which is good, which is why I put him in B tier. Um, I've seen so many fights be won because there is an assassin on a team. Just because they were able to slip away and then come back in, and you never knew they were there. So it's still a good show. I don't like playing assassin just because I don't like that playstyle. So that's kind of where I have it.

SPEAKER_04

Great feedback, man. You made an interesting point. You say, I think people's gonna hate me for putting him in the B tier. I beg to differ, and I think people are going to rejoice you putting him in the B tier because spoiler alert, Assassin is universally hated. Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_01

He but some people are like, no, that's my favorite show. Yeah, I'm I'm that guy. That's people who hate me.

SPEAKER_04

Right, yeah. Again, you said B tier, you didn't say dookie, you didn't say C. It's aight. You said B. B's fine, B's good. Yeah. Um, and people are gonna rejoice that you put him in B because he is the the the mo if if there was the one runner shell that I would say most people have the most distaste towards, it's Assassin.

SPEAKER_03

So I was screaming it the other day with Alice everywhere.

SPEAKER_04

I hate him. Interestingly enough, and by the way, everybody, if you don't know, you're gonna know now. Me and Bat yet again did not come together for this tier list. I have no idea what he's about to say, he has no idea what I'm about to say, and that's what makes these fun. Uh, I have Assassin in the A tier in trios. Um, this this is Is who I have maimed in season two. And it has come out of nowhere. At the end of last the the the tail end of season one and the all of season two. I have maimed Assassin. This came out of nowhere for me. I just he was the one. He was also the shell that I hated. I hated the ratty gameplay and solos. It drove me crazy. Um and he was that I I didn't like smoke. I've never been that type of player in other shooters, and he actually is the one guy I stayed away from. He's the one shell I just did not play. I I I just decided one day to just start trying him out. And because I had saw somebody else where I was watching some content kind of play as him. I'm like, I'm gonna try assassin. I don't know what came over me. It first this just was the guy that's been missing from my my my lineup. I just started noticing I'm playing good with this guy, I'm doing good. Like I like the assassin, and it the rest is history from there. His prime ability is a smoke screen, his tactical is active camo, and his trait is shadow dive. Assassin preys off of catching people at angles when chaos is going on. Assassin preys on using active attack camo to in a 1v1 to prey upon that half a second delay in your brain it takes to process. Oh god, there he is. There he's a he's a he's he he's in viz. By that time, Assassin has already put a couple of shots in you when he's doing the job right, he preys on that millisecond, half a second, sometimes a full second time it takes the opposition for their brain to see the camo. Does that make sense? That's what he preys on, he preys on angles and that. So I have been playing a lot of assassin and I have discovered something about him. Assassin is a low-key healer on the team, let me explain. I have been finding interesting playstyles with him where if somebody goes down, I throw smoke. I get I give my ally smoke. So often, unless the the the person that downed my my ally or my friend commits fully to the to the down, I can I'm noticing I can sometimes it's a 50-50 shot. I can save my teammate from from getting shot and actually going fully down. Um, I have found a lot of value in throwing smoke screen and using the smokescreen to heal an ally. I'm really interested in changing around some of my cradle system stats and start investing in revive because this is a play style. I and I like being the guy that kind of likes to revive the team if I can. So I have discovered this. Assassin is actually also low-key and indirect second support on the team. He can utilize that smoke to cover his allies. Now, it can be a burden, it can be a double-edged sword. Sometimes you throw that smoke and it hinders your ally. So you gotta kind of just play with them and you gotta learn when to smoke, when it benefits your team, and when it don't. I've also the number one reason I use the the two main reasons I use smoke screen is a oh crap button, I'm taking a lot of damage. Almost every time I do it, they don't down me, bat. They may it may be overwhelming odds, and I wasn't gonna get out of the situation anyway, and it it just delays the inevitable. But so often, bat, if I'm taking damage and I smoke down with with his ult, they don't kill me. I get away because assassin has an inherent trait while he's in smoke, he's invisible, and that goes from any source of smoke. He goes invisible. Something else, and I know I'm talking a lot about it, it's just because I'm not gonna go this deep with the others. I'm only going this deep with him because he has been my main this season. I'm gonna tell you something else that's really slept on with Assassin is Shadow Dive. Shadow Dive is another ability that gets me out of so many scenarios. Do you remember when we were playing today, bat, and you you were like, crap, the fall damage. Do you remember that? You would be surprised how nice it is to have an ability every time you jump off a building, you can press circle and you'll shadow dive. Not only will you not take any fall damage, but you fall faster. You hit the ground quicker, and when you hit the ground, you cause more smoke and you go invisible just for a little while. You can actually build into that and you could probably run some cores to make that invisibility last longer. But shadow dive is honestly as crazy as this is, it might be my favorite ability about Assassin. The idea that I never take fall damage, no matter how high up I jump, is really nice, man. So I have been I get it, man. Um I was in that boat to offer people that hate Assassin, you don't hurt my feelings, not so whatever. I promise. It's fine. I get it. He is the universally hated character, especially in solos. He can be really rough to deal with, um, because invisibility is really strong in 1v1s. My last thing I'll say about Assassin, and we're gonna move on. If you're finding yourself in positions, man, I can't stand assassins. I die by them all the time. I'm about to throw you a curveball. If you're having trouble fighting assassins, I would encourage you to play Assassin. Not to join the dark side like I have, but to understand him. I can play against assassins so much better now that I main him because I know what they're thinking, and I learned the sound cues. I think that's the biggest thing. I learned, I know what invisibility sounds like now. It actually gives off a little hump, a little hum. If you listen real close, you can actually hear an assassin in Cloak, but you don't really know the sound. It's only if you know, you know. So I would encourage my my advice is I know that's a hot take. If you're having trouble against assassins, play assassin. Not to become him, but just to learn him, so to help you in your fights against other people. Cool, cool, cool. Alright. Let's go back uh because my voice is is I'm out I'm struggling tonight. Hit us off with recon. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Uh recon's S tier. Ooh, alright. That is my main for season two. Um I love recon. That little bug that you throw has been so good to me. Um, I know a lot of people have trouble with it tracking, and I do run into it all the time, but I've actually had that little bug come in clutch multiple times and be the reason that I've won a fight. Um, but just knowing that I can be in a heavy area with bots making all this noise, having a team push us, say maintenance, I can hit that and I'll know exactly where the the actual runners are is delicious. Um I want to say that I've helped my team by being recon on an ungodly amount of runs. Just because they're like, I don't know where they are, and then I pop in, oh, I see them. And then we win the fight. Yep, you're exactly right about that. Um I I kinda wish that it uh the footsteps sounded different. But overall, I I love Recon. Um and I have a skin that turns uh that's all black, which matches Batman, so it's also delicious. Let's go, man. Yeah, that that is my main character. I love it. I wish because and I could be wrong, but I feel like Recon is one of the only ones that doesn't have a trait. I don't think I have a circle button.

SPEAKER_04

Do I?

SPEAKER_01

But do I never use it?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, um if you yeah, uh it's new news to me as well. I think her other thing is she uh is is the ping thing, her passive, like she can tell if she's being pinged by somebody. That's it. Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

There's no circle button to like activate something. Yes, sh yeah, I being able to know that I'm being has also saved us in fights. Because I know that somebody's coming, whether it be somebody visibly like looking at me through a ravine, like hitting the ping button on the controller or on the on the keyboard and saying I see this person, or if it's activated by a recon pulse. Uh for the longest time I didn't know that somebody pinging me also alerted with the button. So that was a little learning curve, but it's just the the ability to gather as much information as possible is is detrimental in a fight, and I feel like just doesn't work very well. And this is after the buff, season one, didn't touch recon, didn't play it at all.

SPEAKER_04

So big difference. Great feedback, man. Great feedback. Uh we are now, we have our first, we have our first score together. We have our first, we have our first hit together. I also have recon in the S tier. This is the of the three runners that I mentioned earlier that I get excited about when they're on my team. Recon is the second one. I always get excited when I see somebody on my team is playing recon. Um, that information sometimes is priceless. Uh so often we kill, we fight an enemy team. We down, we we take out two of them, but we don't know where the third went. And Batman utilizing recon, sending that echo pulse out, and we get that confirmed information where the third is hiding is absolutely priceless. Especially when we go to dealing with rooks. Uh, if we think there's a rook in our area, it's just such a safety net, it's such a safety blanket. Send it Batman sending out that echo pulse, and we get that confirmed information. Yeah, there is a rookie. Ha ha hey. Um, the only counter, the the only counter to echo pulse is a signal jammer, which high-tier players have caught on to this, and I've noticed in a lot of high-tier gameplay that I watch sometimes on YouTube, they're almost always, especially in cryo, they're running signal jammers. Makes sense because it's so easy to be to be detected by a recon in cryo archive. But um, I will say the one thing, the one downside to recon is sometimes if you're not careful, you can get a little addicted to that information and rely on it too much. And sometimes you make decisions just based off of like waiting on the ult, or um, or even when the ult is actively and you see somebody, you kind of almost go away from your initial atlas has talked about this before, kind of going away from your gamer instincts and just kind of tunnel visioning on what you see. I have noticed be sometimes you do gotta be a little careful and not to get too addicted to that, because sometimes it can lead you astray a little bit. Because, like, say you start like looking at one person real close, but you you don't really notice like what else is what what nothing is going on around you. That can be the downside to Echo Pulse, but not but more so than not, the Echo Pulse is S tier, and it gives you that confirmed information that you're looking for, and it's so nice to have. They buffed the crap out of the spider drone. The spider drone is actually a legit threat now. I have lost 1v1s, I have lost fights because of the stupid spider drone. It's really strong, it's really useful. The buffs Bungie did to it in season one are very noticeable. Um, I actually have the opposite experience of you. I maimed Recon in the beta test and the very beginning of season one, no pun intended, the shell of her former self. That's when I played Recon, was her weaker version. So sometime I I might, for kicks and giggles, sometime in season two, might, now that she's got the buffs, get back into recon a little bit more. But yeah, dude, uh ultimately at the end of the day, that information is very nice. It's a safety blanket, too. It's even if you don't see anything, that's information. That's still information if you don't see anything. So recon S tier. Okay, the next one is might be might be a little uh might be a little spicy. We got the Vandal. I poked around and saw where what other people was putting, and I didn't allow it to dictate my thoughts. Uh matter of fact, uh, there was some I went against the grain a little bit. From what I saw, a lot of people have Vandal in the B tier. I have watched the tape on Fallen 31, and I've seen what he can do with Vandal, the positioning he can utilize with her double jump. I have Vandal in the A tier. I think she's a lot better than what people. I think that's probably gonna be my big hot take for trio runner shells, because a lot of people got Vandal in the B, some in the C tier, and they think she needs a buff. I uh I I I beg to differ. Um, sure, if they maybe want to buff that hand cannon a little bit, probably wouldn't be the end of the world because that's not the strongest thing. It can disorient, disorient your um, your your your opposition a little bit, but I'm telling you, man, I've watched the tape on Fallen 31. The the posit the way he utilizes her double jump to get high to get high ground quickly and to set up quickly in fights when me and you have to scramble around and we have to figure out how to get on top of things, he can do it just a couple of seconds with that double jump. Her slide is a good old crap. It's it can be defense, it can be offense, you can slide in to play aggressive, you can slide out to play defense. Um, I think her ult it at face value, it might seem underwhelming, but an ult where you can run around with almost no penalties without it without overheating is huge. Mobility is huge. I think people are sleeping on Vandal. I think she's good. I've got her in the A tier. If somebody wants to say, no, old town, she's B tier, that's fine. I get it. That's what most people put her in, but I've watched the tape on Fallen 31. I've seen what he can do with Vandal, and that was enough for me to see the light. And uh I've got Vandal in the A tier.

SPEAKER_00

Four, two for two.

SPEAKER_03

Oh boy, alright.

SPEAKER_01

I've got her in the uh in um I was playing Vandal there for quite a while, kind of in the beginning. Um, mainly because I was playing sponsored survival. There were a lot of times where I couldn't get to the X-Fill at the end of a run. So I just wanted to be able to sprint there without the overheating. Um but the more that I play with uh Fallen, it can be uh it can be a little bit harder for me to play that character, which is fine. Um he does a beautiful job. Um I do know that it was like rated as one of the harder shells to learn um back in the beta. I don't know how much that's changed, but I don't see vandals as often as I did in the beginning of the season. So I I'm not gonna say that it's meta, but it is a extremely good chill, especially if you can master the way that it's meant to be used. Um yeah, there's sometimes that I see him just take off and he'll be in a place that I'm like, I wish I could exactly because I could help out so much more.

SPEAKER_04

I don't and I see clips of him all the time clutching up because he has that high ground, that that weird positioning that vandals can get to quickly because and so convenient. I think that's the better word, conveniently because of that double jump. Soup people are sleeping on her, man.

SPEAKER_01

People are sleeping on her than a mod triple jump, which is nuts.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that is absolutely nuts. All right, so we linked up again. Well, that's awesome. So we are we are two for two, two two discrepancies, two agreements. For the next runner shell, we have the thief. This is one of the ones I had a little had to do a little thinking on thief a little bit. I had a little bit of a hard time on. Um, I ultimately landed at A tier. I landed at A tier for the thief because um her grapple, very versatile, much like the Vandal, can can get to that high ground, can can be so convenient to give yourself better positioning quick, fast, can also save yourself, same thing with Vandal, save yourself fall damage with her ability. Van uh Thief, same thing. You can save yourself from fall damage if you use that ability again. But her bread and butter, man, is that grapple. It's it's so good, it's it's so nice. And her goggles, man. Um, the goggles, they they can highlight enemy runners in areas where your naked eye maybe wouldn't normally see them as fast. Sometimes. It can even help your reaction speed. Uh, I've heard Vandal, I've heard I I've never got it to work for me, but I've heard Thieves Goggles can see an invisible assassin in smoke. Every time I tried it, it didn't work. But I think it's a thing in the right circumstances. But uh even you know, the the goggles being able to loot, dude, to to find the resources that you're looking for to see what's good, no pun intended, priceless, priceless. Uh I think the guy, and you get the goggles very often, too. That's another thing. Like you get the goggles often. Um she that even the drone, man. Now, I think people would a lot of people maybe would put the vandal in B tier because of the drone. However, I maimed crypto in Apex Legends back in the day. So I kind of was used to that play style a little bit. Because I also mained back in season one thief for for about a month. And you gotta be careful that don't get don't use the drones at at the wrong time. Like if you're if you're in a team fight, like obviously, like get out, get off the drone, get out of the drone. But sometimes, but dude, like that guaranteed information, like nothing can counter it unless you shoot it down. That that live information, I see where they are, here's where they are, here's the building they're in. This is the thing they're doing right now, and that drone can go several meters away, in my opinion. I don't feel comfortable almost putting, I don't, I don't feel comfortable putting thief in the B tier. I gotta I landed at A tier. She's not meta, she's not meta, she's not she's not game breaking, must have, you know. But but dude, that that drone, dude, people sleep on that drone, man. That gave, I mean, me and you back back in the day, we had a war story where we linked up with that random dude and we were fighting at Outpost, and we beat that team of purple shielded guys because my drone gave us the information we needed. That drone is guaranteed live information, exactly what they're doing. It can be very dangerous, man, in the wrong hands. Um, if somebody were to tell me uh thief can be S tier, I could subscribe to that. If people were to tell me that thief is B tier, I could subscribe to that. But I wholeheartedly can't get down with anything. Uh that's gonna be funny if you fall in this boat, by the way. But I I I totally uh don't think she's anything below a B tier. Uh, I think this is another really good runner shell. I maimed her for a little while in season one. I really like Thief. That were yet.

SPEAKER_00

Gonna make me test our friendship.

SPEAKER_03

Uh-oh.

SPEAKER_04

What's going on here?

SPEAKER_00

Bro, I hate the thief shell. She's in C.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. Many, many reasons.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, let's get into it.

SPEAKER_01

Now C. My soul my heart. Never. You'll never see me put this shell on. I hate it. Yeah. Um. There are a lot of good points that you made. But I'll tell you why. I still think it's in C tier, because it's not dookie. It's not dookie. But for Batman, it's real bad. Um every time I use that grapple dude, it don't go where I want it to. It'll put me into a fight that I don't want to be in. Um greedy, greedy person when it comes to looting. I don't need to enable myself anymore by giving myself goggles that season all the good stuff. Fair, fair point. It's just not right. I feel like it's a cheat code. And I don't want to play that way.

SPEAKER_04

It it is a cheat code, dude. Like those goggles, those goggles, they're nice, dude.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Anybody that plays it, more power to you. Um I've been killed by a thief so many times. It's probably why I'm a little biased. But the fact that they it can close in such a great distance so quickly, faster than a vandal, faster than a than a destroyer. Oh, she's gonna zip. Oh.

SPEAKER_04

See what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

Um that's why I hate it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Because tracking them is a nightmare. It's hard to go against. Yeah. Um I respect the scene. We we obviously this is one we're on opposite fences of each other, but yeah, you you you you you I think you can see at least where I came in with the A tier, you described some of the very scenarios why I put her in A tier.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's just not one that I would play, which is again. This is my tier list. Subjective. Yes, it's not one that I would click. Yes, I don't like playing the shell. I just I don't. Mainly because I don't want to enable myself to screw over my team even further by stealing everything. That that is my biggest thing. I will take everything that I see if somebody doesn't take it from me first. But if you find that gold thing before I do, it's yours. I ain't gonna fight you over it. You know, I'm cool like that. I'll hand you something if I know you need it. I feel like a lot of thief players are not that way. And I don't want to be that way. I'm picking up what you're throwing down. Honestly, it's probably very, very low B, high C, but I have her in C tier.

SPEAKER_04

Great feedback, man. Great feedback. No sorry to be needed. This is your tier list, and I wouldn't want it any other way. Alright. That was fun. That one was that one was interesting there. Let us now move on to the triage. So I'll give a little disclaimer. This is one I went a little bit back and forth. It really, it doesn't what I was going back and forth with ultimately doesn't really matter because they're both good. I got the triage in S tier. That is also that is the third and final runner shell when I see on my team, I get really excited. What I was between was an S tier and an A tier. I was nothing below an A tier. I wasn't even considering B tier. I was bottom at bottom an A tier with triage. I love triage, dude. He was my main, like it was like it was recon for a little bit for in the beta in the beginning, then it was thief for about a month, and then I finished the basically the remainder of the season on triage, and at the very tail end, like the last two weeks of season one, that's when I discovered wow, I'm I'm low-key kind of good with Assassin. But for the bulk of season one, I mean triage. Truly the unsung hero of the team doesn't get enough credit, man, doesn't get enough pats on the back for those for those for those healing drones that save you from having to use your very precious shield charges and healing patches. Um triage is just the goat, dude. Um no, he doesn't have any mobility. No, he doesn't really honestly do anything else fancy. I really do like his ult, his prime, where he um it's called uh I actually do not know off the top of my head what what what it's like static shock or I don't know, but but we all know what what now. It's something like that. It's something like that.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not 100% sure on the name. Similar.

SPEAKER_04

And if the stars aligned, you can literally heal both of your teammates at the same time if they're close together. In some dire situations, you can use it as a last ditch effort, you can use it to knock so many damage off. Like it can hurt if anybody listening didn't know triage's ult, you can use it to attack, it can hurt people, it can hurt enemy runners. I it does a decent amount of damage. Um, like if you're half health or it it'll down you, you're going down if you get hit by the triage ult. I don't know the numbers on it exactly. I I I some I would be a little scared to lead with it, especially if it's a blue team shield or above. But if you know somebody's low and you have to reload both of your weapons, by God, use that, send it power that thing up and send it, dude. But uh yeah, man, you can be you using the cradle system, you can invest in in freaking um, you can invest in, I forget what it's called off the top of my head, where you get your abilities faster, where you can constantly keep those heal. I mean, the triage is the GOAT, dude. Constant a triage, especially if you don't have to say anything, a triage constantly keeping a healing bot on you is just a 10 out of 10, man. Again, triage, he doesn't have no fancy abilities, he doesn't have no fancy movement, but he is the anchor of the team that keeps everybody alive. If the triage is doing well, everybody else is honestly probably doing well. Um, and the idea that he saves you all those precious resources is absolutely huge. I love the triage S tier.

SPEAKER_01

Um I don't think this is gonna come as a surprise. Um, I've got my boy in S tier. Let's go. Um, you kind of touched on the the damage ability. Um I will wholeheartedly agree. I've tried to down somebody with a blue shield, and it will not work. I would say green or below. Um, but there might be a situation where you can even do a trade with the enemy team where your teammate goes down and you can see the enemy and they're trying to kill your friend, you pop that, you can get your teammate up and then do damage on the enemy, potentially downing. So even trade. Um, and that's instantaneous. Now, if they're in a bad position, they could get downed again, but then again, that enemy teammate is down. So um I will say that keeping bots on people can be difficult. Um if you are on a team that's constantly getting into fights, those those drones go very quickly. Yeah, they do. They don't come back very fast if you don't have it built hit for that. So keep that in mind. Um, I know that when I play trios, uh, can I get a bot? Can I get a bot? Yes. Yes, old town. Yes. No, I don't have one, it's still charging. Um but yeah, I I love the fact that like and it even even if you're being like super selfish, like I know that I don't have to bring in as much heals and shield charges myself when I play triage, that also frees up space in my backpack, which allows me to bring more out of a run. Good point, which is fantastic. Very good, very very good point. Um so that's that's something that I've always loved about triage. Um and I'll I'll talk a little bit more about that in solos. But um yeah, triage is just such a strong character. The one thing that you didn't mention that I wanted to point out is that he does have a trait, and I know you've talked about it in the past, and I know you like it. Um running any volt weapon with triage is a godsend. He can hold circle, it will overcharge the damage output on volt weapons, and you can break shields like that. And I think it emps them. And it emps them. So that that takes time away from them equipment, their passive, their traits on their end. Um another utilization would be like facing wardens. That triage runs up, old circle, breaks that shield, that warden's gonna die quicker. Great. Yes. Um so I I think that just all in all, triage is such a well-rounded character. Minus his agility. Yes. Which you're that's the trade-off, is you're not gonna move the way that the other shells are gonna move, but you have those other perks, which is why I love marathon, because each of them are so.

SPEAKER_04

Hey man, well said, man. Great um, great feedback. Yeah, that uh and thank you for covering the basis with the MP, because I actually was blatantly gonna forget about that. Um, yeah, for anybody main and I know we got some people that main triage. Don't be afraid. Use scar, use v75 scars, use v use v66, uh um. Use v use v66s, use circuit breakers, bolt punch, bolt punches, bolt throwers, bolt throwers. They're all delicious. They're all delicious.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I mean, uh triage. And it's ammo that you can recharge just by running, which is amazing. Oh man, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so if you're if you main triage and you've not been using a lot of volt weapons, you're actually you you're you're you're selling yourself short a little bit because when you use that power that he was describing where you overcharge and you have a volt weapon, so good. And you notice it, you notice it's working. So awesome. Very good, very good. Okay, last we got we got two runner shells left. And we're coming up on next the Sentinel. This is another one I had a little hard time putting him somewhere because I just don't have a lot of experience on him, man. So I think this is the if I miss the mark with a runner, I think it's gonna be Sentinel where I miss the mark. I he is I I went with the B tier with Sentinel, and I was trying to channel my inner, you know, I was trying to really think about some things Fallen has said about him, what he does good at, what he doesn't do good at. And I landed at a B because he's good on some, he's great on some maps, but he's not good on some maps. Like Fallen's like, he's not good on perimeter. He was like, he's okay on Dire Marsh if you're in a building, but even then, if you're if you're caught out in the open, he's not really doing anybody any favors. He's really good in outpost, and he's obviously really good in cryo. Um, it's sounding like to me the best part about his kit is probably the pulse or like the little heartbeat sensor that he has. Uh, that information he said also paired with a recon is really nice. Um, the little the mines he throws out that can stick to a wall, I feel like that's something that takes a lot of patience and time to get used to on when to do that and when to not do that. Um he for me, and again, I feel like he he's gonna be. If I miss the mark with somebody, I think it's gonna be him. He's one of the ones right now that seems maybe a little just a little slightly underwhelming, but he but B's not bad. B is still solid. Uh, I've seen what Fallen can do with those snare mines and how it can stop somebody's momentum. I've seen that uh old what's it called, his ult, um the defenders. I think it's called the defender system. I've seen what how that literally defends us from grenades, especially in cryo grenade spamming is still a thing in there. Not as bad, but it's still a lot of grenades are thrown in cryo. He he I okay, he's weird, dude. He, in my opinion, is he is A tier, S tier in cryo archive, but he's not in perimeter. I think he's the one of the weakest shell, if not the weakest shell in perimeter. And I I I'm almost tempted to throw in dire marsh in there too. I struggled, I struggled with him the most. I got him at B tier, but I know, but B's not bad. B is still solid. There is a place, there is a time and a place for him where he can be really effective. Let's hear it.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I really didn't want Thief to be alone. So I I've got him in C tier. Okay, got him in C also. Gotcha. A lot of it is just the fact that I I haven't played him much. Um But I think that one of the things about every other shell is you can take them into every single map. And that is one of the big things that holds Sentinel back, is that he's he's only gonna shine in two of them. Um now, if you're going in and you're playing with him that way, that'd be tier. Yeah. Um but if you're gonna attempt to play him in any other fashion, it's gonna be a s it's just it's bad if you're gonna try on perimeter um or diamonds, to be honest.

SPEAKER_04

Fallen, I feel like, will be one of the first to tell you he's he just feels naked almost on perimeter, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And then you know, especially him coming from like a mobility character, he's gonna be in the same boat as triage. There's just no mobility at all. You get caught out in the open and it's just it's done. Yeah, right. Yeah. So um, it it's one of those it it's a shell that I'm probably gonna and I need to start hitting it harder, but I'll get the skins for him, and then he's probably just gonna sit in that little little selection screen. I don't think I'll ever pick him, to be honest. That is definitely not my play style. I am not a defender in any shape or form. Yeah. He do not like playing that way.

SPEAKER_04

He's probably on the bottom of my totem poll right now. Um I I'm yeah, I'm not really uh so far. I haven't I haven't, I don't even know if I've really played maybe outside of Overwatch where I play tank and I'm kind of like a defender of the team. I I actually really do like being a support player and a defender. But Sentinel, the way he's kitted, I don't know if I could. Executed at this time. He was the only one of the main runner shills I felt was lacking a little bit. Time will tell. I am open to my mind being changed about that. And it's a little interesting, though, where I've got him in the solo queue tier list. But in trios, I think he's middle of the pack. If not for me, a little bit creeping towards the bottom. But not bad though. Not like, okay, this guy needs a lot of help. He's got a lot of things wrong with him. He's he's fine. He's really good in outposing. He's even better in cryo archive. So yeah. So we were for the we were close to even we didn't give him the same grade, but me and you both were kind of along the same wavelengths. He was kind of on the bottom of both of our totem poles. Still not bad, though. For me, still not bad. Last but not least, we have Rook Baby John Rook. Rook is honestly in a league of his own. I've got Rook in the B tier. Um Rook is Rook, right? Like you um Trios? Well, okay. Not really in well, okay, not really in trios. Uh more just I'm throwing him in there. I can't find the words because you are going against trios as Rook. So that's why I sort of like threw him in there. Yeah, okay. Because you don't play Rook against other solos. So like when you're Rook, you gotta play against trios. So that's why I sort of threw him in this one. Um Rook, yeah. Rook is B tier. Um you gotta treat Rook. You you gotta play you gotta totally change how you play Marathon when you play Rook. You have to you have to really you gotta play chess with Rook. You you're you're 1v3 in people. You gotta wait, you gotta do a lot of waiting and a lot of watching, which can be fun. I I've play I like Rook. Um it it's fun having that rare moment where you can capitalize on a team, you can kick them when they're down. Um, Rook is the scavenger, he can kind of blend in with the UESC. I did Rook is Rook, and I I dig Rook. I do like him, but uh I I don't I didn't feel comfortable going any higher than a B tier on him. So Bat, did you I know I it sounds like you didn't have him in your notes anywhere, but you got any thoughts on that? No, I did. Oh, you did? Okay, go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

I just yeah. Um I have him in D tier because I was thinking you can't play him in trios. Right. Um but no, I forgot that you you face them. Um but one of the biggest things is the moment that a rook is seen, that's a target. Regardless. Yeah. If you see a rook, I'm gonna kill you. And I'm not gonna be sorry about in the slightest.

SPEAKER_04

I was bouncing between almost putting rook in C tier because I just feel like if you were to put out a the if Bungie were to ever release the numbers, the statistics on how often do rooks live, I bet it's not very good. No, no. So I I was I I I'll tell you where I'm really at with Rook. I'm at a very low B in a really high in a C tier. That that's where I'm at with Rook.

SPEAKER_01

Um I have played very, very little as Rook, and I can confidently tell you I have never once X-filled as a Rook. I hate being a Rook. For me, it is the worst thing in the world. I hate playing ratty. My skills are not good enough to go against a 1v3, let alone a 1v2. I'm not even confident enough to go in a 1v1. I hate being a rook. I hate seeing them. I hate the fact that they were in my survival-sponsored playlist. I hate rooks. They are a D tier. The worst shell in the game, hands down, Batman's opinion.

SPEAKER_04

D tier screw you, John Rook. Screw yeah, hey, it's definitely screw the John Rook. I know you're out there somewhere, John Brooke. I know you're out there, and I will find you again, and we will cross paths, and I will get my revenge next time we cross past John Rook. I'm coming for you. I know you're out there somewhere still. Anyways, he still lives rent-free in my head. I wasn't even there and he lived rent-free in my head. Jesus, he still lives rent-free in my head. Um, yeah, so you know, you gotta think like last thing I'll say on Rook is Rook is the by design scavenger class. And if you play him as a scavenger, get some rook run, you play really passively, ratty, quiet, kind of in an in and out kind of mentality, like grab some resources. Rook is great, honestly. Great rook is fine, and he he's almost kind of like a class if you want to challenge yourself, or if you don't like have a lot of time, you got a time for like a quick game, get a quick rook run in, you know. There's a place for him. There is, I know we've we've we've we've had a lot, we've goofed around and we've dunked on Rook a lot, but there is I I'll I'll clear the emotions for a second. There is a place for Rook, but and it's by design, like he is the weakest runner shell by design. He's the scavenger class, but uh Rook has gotten the best of us on a time or two, so we have feelings on Rook. So you put him in the hey, where'd you what'd you say, Bat? You had him in the C tier? No, he dookie, dude. Oh, he's dookie. Oh, my bad, my bad. Dookie. Okay, dookie. All right, all the emotion in it. I hate him. He put all the emotion. We are at an hour and 56 minutes. We're in overtime, bat. Oh the god. They're gonna bid, they're gonna bill me. They're gonna I knew they would. They're gonna bill me. It's fine. It's really all fine. We will go, we're gonna go faster with solo queue. And here's how we can do it. Everything you've give me, we'll we'll go by like the whole tiers. Like, give me everything you got S tier, give me out, give me every shell on A tier, and you know, etc. etc. I'll go ahead and give all I will go fast. I'm gonna give all of mine, and then I'll let you go and just go ahead and give all yours. So I'm gonna I'm gonna go bottom to up. So for all my B tier runner shells in Solo Q, I only have one, and it's actually Triage. I do think Solos is a totally different beast than Trios. You think about what triage is supposed to do, support the team. His ult is literally can can can revive your your your friend, your teammate instantly. You don't get that in Solo Q. The drone is nice, the drone in Solo Q is still really nice, but Solos is a lot radtier than um, and it plays almost totally different. It's it's a lot more audio based, and sometimes those drones can give your position away. He's still fine, you can still make triage work in solo queue, but I do think of what hit by design it's kind of taken away from him, and I think he goes down a couple of tiers for me in solo queue. So I got him, he he I got him in B tier for the A tier in solo queue. I have Destroyer Vandal also stayed in the A tier, like trios. Destroyer, I brought him down, I brought him down one from S tier um to A tier. Still good though, still good. Okay, so this is really where it gets interesting. I got Sentinel in the A tier in solos, and I still got Thief in A tier. So I know I said a lot right there, and I know Atlas wants to know right now. Now hold on, old town. You got Destroyer in um you've got you got Destroyer in S tier on trios, but you got him in A tier in solos. He's still great. I noticed A tier A is awesome. A is A is great. I still think Destroyer is is um it's fine, is good, uh, because you can still use that movement to outflank and outmaneuver your opposition. He's still a very uh dangerous shell to be reckoned with into 1v1, especially because he's got I think he's got that little bit like more resistance, or he's got like a little bit more, he can take maybe I think bullets the most of the others. So he he can still be a 1v1 god. And if somebody wants to say no, no, like he's also S tier in solos. I'm not gonna argue that. I'm not gonna argue that for for a second. Just for me, for Old Town, I bumped him down to A tier in solos. He's still fine, he's great. So Sentinel for me took a this is gonna sound weird. Sentinel's the way solos plays, it plays a lot slower, it plays a lot radtier, and the idea that Sentinel has that heartbeat sensor is interesting, and I think it kind of changes the dynamic a little bit. He can kind of, you know, in in real slow pace situations, he can use that to give himself information, like, oh, like I've I'm I'm picking up a pay. And Fallen even said you can tell the difference between a runner and a bite, and that's a big deal. Now, again, Sentinel is so gosh darn hard to grade because a lot of it talked about what map are we talking about? You know, Sentinel is just he's still the hardest one for me to grade, but I'd still, because of that heartbeat, nothing else, not the defender system, the snare mines. Yeah, it can be. It can help if some if you've taken damage and you've backed up, you can put it and it might it can hinder, you know, it can work, but uh, I I did bump him up. I did bump him up. Uh, I that might be too generous. He's really the really the only the I that I have mixed feelings with. I don't really know where I stand with him, but I I landed at somewhere at an A tier or a B tier because of the difference in how 1v1 how solos play, and he's got a heartbeat sensor. And Thief is still thief. Uh thief is fine. I I got thief also in the A tier. Um, you can use that drone, that that guaranteed information. I see you. I see exactly where you are, I see exactly what you're doing. They can zip line up to get you, they can zip line down to run, they can zip line here, they can zip line there. Uh thief can the thief can zip line up to a strategic height advantage and snipe on perimeter, snipe on dire marsh. It's you know, it's that she can be good. Vandal, same thing. I have not I have not come off of my A tier for Vandal for not trip trios or solos. Vandal has that double jump, same thing, can get height advantage for sniping, um, can slide in, can slide out in 1v1s in intense situations. I'm not coming off an A tier for Vandal. Um, finally, for me, in S tier in solos. I have the Assassin and I have Recon. Hear me out, everybody. There's a reason why that because of these two is why I bumped down the destroyer from S to A. Like I can't I had him in S tier in uh in trios. I think Assassin and Recon does it a little bit better in in solos. Assassin, let's keep it real. This is why he's got a bad reputation. He's strong, man. Uh I don't agree with the super duper ratty play style. I don't like it. Um, I do not partake in it. Like obviously, when I play solos and I play assassin, yes, I I yes, I use the cloak. Do I camp out in a corner and sit there for 20 minutes waiting on or 10 to 20 minutes waiting on somebody to run by? Absolutely no, I do not. Are there players that do that? Yes, and that's why Assassin gets a bad name. And you know, in almost any multiplayer game, invisibility just doesn't like I can acknowledge this, right? Like uh, like think of bat, think about Sombra on on Overwatch. Like, invisibility is just not good to go against. Sombra's even worse because she's completely invisible. At least with an assassin, you can see him, you can see like uh premonitions, uh silhouettes, whatever word you want to use. You you can see there's something there. He still preys upon your brain, taking time to process that's what you see, but you know, at least you can kind of see it now versus sombra over on Overwatch. Um, I've got Assassin in the S tier. He's really good, man, in solos. He can smoke out in 1v1s, he preys upon your brain in 1v1s, he makes you second guess yourself, he's strong. And then last but definitely not least, also in S tier, I have the recon, the counter to assassin. If you hate assassins and solos, I have the runner shell for you. Use recon. Use echo if you're going into a building, you think you hear something, or you just got that hunch, send it, dude. Send out Echo Pulse. Most likely, unless you get really unlucky and they're using a signal jammer. Now I I feel confident saying nine times out of ten that you will get the ping, you will get that guaranteed information that you are looking for. The downside is Echo Pulse is a very long cooldown. It's one of the longest cooldowns, it's one of the longest primes in the game. Why? Because it's strong. It's really, really strong. Uh, also, you can be, you know, uh, you know, if somebody pings you, you have that information as Echo that you've been pinged. But ultimately, her bread and butter is you're being pursued by somebody, or you you you hear footsteps, send out that pulse, dude. Boom. You know where they are. Guess what? If there's somebody else around, you know where they are too. Uh they are the cream of the crop, and that is ultimately like I had to have them to an S tier. I think they do it the best in solos. However, there's been a theme. If any, if y'all, this is the last thing I'll put a little cherry on my tier list. If anybody has noticed, there really isn't no losers in my tier list. Um I've got like I I really didn't give a C to I thought maybe I toyed around with it with Sentinel, but really I ultimately still landed at a B with him. There are no losers on my tier list. I think Bungie did an amazing job at balancing the runner shells and and making them all have a place, a time, and a purpose. They all have weaknesses. There's not one like the like there's I've played so many games where there's just a hard meta. If you're not doing, if you're not playing as this character, or if you're not using this gun, you're doing yourself a dissertation. Dead by Daylight is awful about metas. Honestly, Destiny has been really bad about hard metas. Like, hey, if you're not using this certain gun, you're at a disadvantage. Marathon has done such a great job with gun balance. All the guns have a place for the most part as a purpose and a place. And I say that to the runner shells. I've been asked the question, Old Town, I'm about to go into a match. What runner shell do you think I should play? My answer is usually always play the runner shell that you think you can come that you can compete the best with, because there are no losers in Old Town's book. Great job, Bungie, on the runner shells. I think they all are awesome, cool, and unique in their own way. Bat end it for us, buddy. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I do have losers on my list.

SPEAKER_04

You literally just made me spit my water out.

SPEAKER_03

My nose, it burns!

SPEAKER_00

Um for starters, Rook. I don't think I have to go back over this. Rook's D tier. Okay, we're moving on.

SPEAKER_01

Um, Sentinel. Honest to God, the same same stuff as in the trios. The only thing that would make him better in solos would be the Heartbeat Center. Again, I don't use this character, never will. Besides getting the skins. So I've got him in C. Um, B tier. Atlas, don't don't hate me. Uh I've got him in in B tier. Solely for the fact because Solos is so ratty, the destroyer is the loudest shell by far. And I have killed so many solos just because I heard them coming a mile away. And they're both and I will never put myself in a situation of being that loud. So that's why I have him in. There are situations that he would be great for, but ultimately just the mobility of his noise is for me atrocious. I don't like it. Still a good good shell though. Um, A tier thief is actually going to be the opposite reason for trios. I'm solo. I want everything. Um I'm really bad about not using the grapple, and I I don't use her very often. But if you're going in specifically to loot, that would be the shell that I would choose. Uh Vandal A tier. Um just being able to get in out in and out of a pinch in a fight is detrimental in solos because you have one life unless you find a self-red. So that's one of the reasons that I have heard A tier assassin. Again, I do not like playing Raddy, but I do have to acknowledge that his play style is perfect for solos. I will never play him in there, but it is the best for that situation, I think. So I have him in A. The two that I will pick any day of the week is gonna be Recon. Because I love sending out that Echo Pulse and knowing exactly where that other person is. I've won so many fights just because I know where they are or which direction they're coming from. Um but for me personally, um SS tier is triage. Okay. I love taking triage in solos. If there's a big enemy, I'm gonna use my ultimate on it because it's gonna damage it, it's gonna take down its shield, it's gonna make It's easy for me to kill. A lot of the enemies in solos are gonna have shields, so I'm gonna bring volt cell weapons, pop that circle, break their shields real quick, make it easier for me to kill. The having health at any given time is amazing. I love it. It's my favorite thing in the world. It is nice. It is really nice in solos having those drones. And again, kind of the same thing as in trios, that eliminates me having to have as many heels in my backpack. In solos, I'm trying to get out with the most amount of stuff that I can. So that's another reason that trios isn't it.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, awesome dude. Let's go. We get oh yeah, yeah, more than that is everything.

SPEAKER_01

I think I might have had one more thing, but I cannot remember it. Just the the big thing that uh to take away from is that if solo's uh survival sponsor comes back around, I would highly recommend taking a triage because you're gonna be going in with three shields. That robot will keep you alive in those matches so much it's not funny. I do agree, yes.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, dumb dumb dun. I do agree. Yeah, triage and and sponsored survival PVE. Uh the like the sponsored one. Yeah, triage is um he would also fall priest tier with with with me as well, in that he's really, really good. So all right, bad, we did it, dude. Let's go, man. Woo! I know that was a lot. That that took a lot out of me, too. That was uh that was that was actually a little bit longer than uh, but you know, me and you, we like to be detailed and we really like to you know take our time and talk about it. So we did it, man.
