Episode 21 Final Destination Heaven or Hell?

In this Episode, I read to you parables Jesus taught concerning the reality of Heaven and Hell and those who may go there. 

I describe both Heaven and Hell, and share the Greek and Hebrew words used throughout the Bible when talking about Heaven and Hell.

I once again share how you can be saved and go to Heaven. I also share how someone chooses not to go to Heaven. 

God has done all he can do , short of taking away your freedom of choice, aka Free Will. 

The Choice is YOURS to make.

Hello. Welcome to the Never Nothing, Never Nobody Podcast. This is a place for those who have felt unloved, felt like they were nothing and nobody, to learn the truth about who they really are and who God created them to be. This is a place to find hope for healing, to end your search for significance, and to find the truth that you are never nothing and never nobody. This is Episode 21. Final destination Heaven or Hell. We are saved by grace, not by works, so that no person can boast about what they did to get to heaven. It's all about what Jesus did. Jesus is the only way to heaven. He paid the price of our admission to put our names in Lamb's Book of Life, which is a list of those expected to be allowed in. God is not willing for anyone to go to hell, which was designed only for the devil and his demons. Second Peter three nine says, The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but for everyone to come to repentance. John chapter three, verses sixteen through eighteen says, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Jesus might be saved. He who believes in Jesus is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Romans chapter ten, verse thirteen says, For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. If you do not get in heaven, it is because you either rejected what Jesus did for you, denied who he was and is, or you never really meant it, and you called out to him. You never truly believed. You were just giving lip service. Isaiah 29, 13 says, The people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. It's God's grace, mercy, and love for all of us that grants us the opportunity to be right with Him and to go to heaven. God has sent representatives into prisons to witness to serial killers and be told about the love of God and what Jesus did for them, so they can get set free from the demons that possess them and oppress them, so that they can be forgiven for every sin. And there are serial killers who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. There is only one sin that we can never be forgiven for, and that is denying who Jesus is, what he did for us all. We are assured in the Word of God that no one will ever be able to say, But I didn't know. Says in Romans chapter one, for since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power, Godhead, so that they are without excuse. Because although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God, nor were they thankful, but they became futile in their thoughts, foolish in their hearts, or darkened. Second Corinthians chapter 6, verse 2 says, Today is the day of salvation. Do not tarry, do not wait, do not drag your feet. You are not promised tomorrow, you're not even promised the rest of today. But God accepts deathbed confessions. Jesus on the cross between two thieves, one that mocked him and jeered him, and the other that begged for Jesus to remember him when he came into his kingdom. Jesus himself said to this criminal, Today you will be with me in paradise. Jesus taught a parable in Matthew chapter 20 about the kingdom of heaven. For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. Now when he had agreed with the laborers for denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. He went about the third hour of the day, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace. He said to them, You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you. So they went. And again, about the sixth and ninth hour, he did likewise. And about the eleventh hour, he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, Why have you been standing here idle all day? They said to him, Because no one hired us. He said to them, You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive. So when the evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first. And then those who came who had been hired about the eleventh hour, each received a d a denarius. But when it came to the first, they supposed that they would receive more, and they likewise received denarius. And when they had received it, they complained against the landowner, saying, These last men who only worked one hour, and you made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the heat all day? But he answered one of them and said, Friend, I've done you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to those last men the same thing I gave to you. Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good? So the last will be first, and the first will be last. For many are called, a few are chosen. In this parable, Jesus was talking about the kingdom of heaven, those who get to partake in the benefits of heaven. The same benefit of heaven is given to those who've been believers for years, as for those who have only been believers for a few hours, minutes, or seconds. To many that may seem unfair. They gave their life in service to God. These other people never served God, but in the final hours of their lives, they called on Jesus, and their reward also was to enter the kingdom of heaven. There will be people you do not think will be in heaven. You do not think they deserve to be in heaven. But God, in his love, mercy, and grace, offers us every last opportunity to turn to him. Those of you who don't believe there's a real heaven or a real hell, Jesus told a story or a parable about it. It's called the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus. You can find this story in Luke chapter sixteen, verses nineteen through thirty two. There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day. And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who laid at his gate, desiring to be fed even the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. So it was that the beggar died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried, and being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. This thing about being in Abraham's bosom is a reference to being in heaven. Then the rich man cried out and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus, evil things. Now he is comforted, and you are tormented. Besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, though those who from there to here pass to us. Then he said, I beg you, therefore, that you would send someone to my father's house, for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment. Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the prophets, let them hear them. And he said, No, Father Abraham, but if one goes to them from the dead they will repent. But Abraham said to them, If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rises from the dead. Hell is a place of torment, where you are fully aware of where you are at, who you were, and that you are not in paradise. The rich man begged for someone to be sent to his loved ones that they may not suffer the way he The Hebrew word for hell was Sheol, which simply meant place of the dead. This word was used throughout the Old Testament. Hades was the Greek equivalent to Sheol, also meaning place of the dead. In some texts of the New Testament, the word Gehenna was used. Gehenna was a physical place, it was a valley near Jerusalem, where pagan sacrifices took place and where there was fire that continually burned. Jesus referenced that actual place to the people of his time, giving them a visual of what hell would be like. Gehenna is specifically associated with final punishment. The term came from the Hebrew and or Aramaic word for Gehenom or Valley of Hinnum. Jesus warned of the fire of Gehenna. It is described as a fire where the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched. Hell is a place where God is not. There are six places in the book of Matthew and one in the book of Luke that refer to hell as the place where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. This means there's going to be great grief, sorrow, and anguish in hell. Gnashing of teeth represents intense pain. This is the place for the wicked that deny Jesus. The fire and torment are never ending. The souls there are eternally separated from God and his love. There is no escape from hell. For those who have never called upon Jesus and confessed belief in him, there is no peace, only torment and misery for eternity. The word for heaven comes from the Hebrew word shama and the Greek word oranos. They both mean heaven or sky. Heaven is described as a place of paradise or Abraham's bosom or the kingdom of heaven, which Jesus spoke often about in his parables. It is often referred to the place where God lives. Psalm nineteen one says the heavens declare the glory of God. Psalm eleven four says The Lord is in his holy temple, his throne is in heaven. Psalms thirty three, thirteen and fourteen say The Lord looks from heaven, he sees all the sons and daughters of men. From the place of his dwelling he looks on all inhabitants of the earth. Heaven is described by Jesus as a place where our treasures are stored, where the angels are, where his heavenly Father resides, and that heaven is where those who believe in him will live forever with the God that created them and loves them so. Revelation chapter twenty one three through four describes this. Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people. God Himself will be with them and be their God, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Revelation chapter twenty two one through five and he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God, and a lamb, in the middle of the street on the side of the river was a tree of life, which bore twelve fruits. Each tree yields his fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for healing of the nations. There shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and the lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall serve him. They shall see his face, and his name shall be on their foreheads. There shall be no night there, they need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light, and they shall reign forever and ever. There are verses that also speak of the streets being paved with gold, and there being gates adorned with jewels and pearls. It is a beautiful place. Eternal life in heaven is a gift from God through Jesus Christ. Heaven is a place where there's no more death, there's no murder, there's no sexual morality, there's no sin, there's no more separation from God, there's no more sorrow, no more crying. It is a place of peace where we can live in the presence of God. In heaven you will fully know what love is, because God is love and you will be in his presence. Those that you love that believe in Jesus with their hearts will be there. There will be no more worry, no more stress, no more fear, no more anxiety, no more depression, no more sickness, and no more disease. God's word in 1 Corinthians chapter two verse nine says I has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him. God has done everything he can to get you into heaven. He won't force himself on you, he won't break your free will. You have to decide. Are you gonna do things God's way or your own way? And no, not all paths lead to heaven. There is only one way, and that is through Jesus. Jesus is the only one that paid the price of your admission and put your name in the book of expected residence. When you breathe your last breath on earth, you're either in the presence of God or you are not. When Jesus and his sacrifice for us is rejected by someone, they do not go to heaven. They will be tormented in hell. It will have been their choice. Hell is where the fire is never put out. Where the worm does not die, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth, great grief and sorrow and pain for eternity. So my question for you, which is your final destination? Heaven or hell? The choice is yours. Heavenly Father, thank you for those who are listening. I thank you that they are given a chance right now to decide their final destination. I thank you that you are a gentleman and you do not force your will upon us, but you give us the free will to choose. Lord, I pray for each one as they think about whom they are deciding they are going to serve in whatever's left of their life. I hope and pray that each of them will choose you, Jesus. Neither you nor a Father in heaven are willing that any should perish, and you have done everything to prevent that from happening.
