Conversations with myself sometimes other people conversations with myself conversations with myself Hosted by Caleb Connery come on and stay wild conversations with myself Sometimes other people too Boys and girls today is the day today is draft day the day college football players have been waiting for their whole lives to be picked by a professional NFL team to play with the elite of the elite in their sport. Most kids who play football never make it to this point or get drafted. Years and years of practice and games and watching film. Many try their best but fall short of that final goal. Not everyone gets to make it. God has a draft day too. Will you get picked? Will you have what it takes to be a true follower? Are you ready to give it your all if you get selected to be on God's team? It's not all fun and games when you are on God's team. Sure you'll win games, but you'll also lose a lot of games. You might even get injured in the process. You may have to lean on your teammates to help you to the sideline when you can't do it on your own. You might miss part of the season, but that's why there's a whole roster, so the rest of the team can pick up the slack when you're not in the game. You may feel like giving up, like quitting. You might think to yourself, Pastor Jeff, maybe my time is over and I need to retire. God doesn't want you to ever retire. He wants you back in the game. He wants you studied, practiced, and ready for whatever the other team, Satan's team, throws at you. You might get sacked a couple times. But when you fall, you get back up. And if you fall again, you get back up again. The devil ain't no pushover. You might get scared, start to panic, like CJ Stroud. But no matter how hard it gets, don't let the devil intercept your salvation. It'd be better to take a sack than let the devil intercept your soul. It'd be better to take two, three, or even four sacks and stumble, than to give up altogether and give the ball to the devil. God won't give up on you that easily. He scouted you out long before you ever considered being eligible for the draft. He knows your strengths and weaknesses, both on and off the field. You may never feel completely ready, but draft day is coming. And when that day comes, you need to be ready. Because God just might draft you. What if that day is today? What if your draft day could be today? Right here. Right now. God's got a jersey with your name on it. With the number one on it. You just need to be ready to take that call. And when that call comes, you answer. And then you make your way down the aisle. And you hug the commissioner. And you take that jersey with your name on it. And you can't help but smile because of how good it feels that God wanted you on his team. Then you celebrate with your loved ones. But the real work begins tomorrow and the next day. And the next day, and the next. Eventually the season comes and you have your hardest challenges yet. But you put in the work, you watch the film, practice hard with your teammates all off season long, and now you're ready to go. Put me in, coach. Ready.
