Hard Reset is my real life journal. Every episode is about the grind nobody sees, the transitions nobody talks about, and the work it actually takes to reach where you’re trying to go.

Unseen Hours: Episode 15 - Accountability
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Before you move forward, check your work. This episode is about accountability — revisiting your intentions, correcting your errors, and maintaining integrity when no one’s watching. Progress means nothing if the foundation isn’t sound.

So for this episode, we're gonna talk about accountability. You wanna do great things? You wanna achieve great things? You wanna push yourself past limits that you and anyone you know has ever reached? You gotta learn accountability. Are you doing everything that you need to do to achieve what you want to achieve? Are there any habits that you have that are keeping you from those things? Um are you being honest with yourself about what you actually want to do and if you're willing to put in the work? If you're honest with yourself and you're like, really I ain't trying to do all that, I'm just trying to chill. That's fine. Do that. If you're telling yourself I should be the best, they should see me as a top performer, they should be giving me all the responsibility and you're not putting in the work, that's a problem. Um You need to make sure that what you're saying aligns with what you're doing. If you don't have the work ethic to do whatever you need to do to make sure that you're doing well and that you should be accounted on, and you shouldn't expect that you'll get those benefits. Uh I've never been the one to talk about what other people are doing. Never been a type to worry about what other people are doing. Uh never been a type to hate on anyone getting awards. It's never been my thing. Never cared. Uh what did Jay-Z say? He said, uh, who would you rather be? Underpaid or overrated? More victories from minor league coaches. Yeah, I already told you we major cockroaches. Uh and I say that meaning you want to go out there and do what you have to do and do your best while not worrying about anybody else. And eventually, if you're doing everything that you need to, volunteering for things that people don't want to do, putting in the actual work, you'll get to where you want to go and you'll get that recognition, whether you want it or not. And in the end, whether you get awards or not, it won't matter because your work will speak for itself. And then at that point, when you do achieve great things, people look at you and be like, Why is he so special? But in the end, it won't matter to you because you did everything you could to get yourself to that position. And it's only because you held yourself accountable and knew you had to do these things in order to achieve this goal. I've always focused on being great at whatever I'm doing and focused on learning everything that I can so I can master whatever I'm doing. And then everything else just came along the way. It wasn't like I set out to be the best at anything or set out to stand out. It literally is just me just wanting to master whatever I'm doing and be the best at it. And then eventually everything else comes with it. You need to focus on just being the best at whatever you're doing. And in the end, everything will come your way, whether it's where you're at, or whether it's going somewhere else. If you have experience doing something and you're not getting promoted where you're at, just go to a different company and they'll see the value in you. Especially if you have the experience. You walk the walk and you talk the talk, somebody will somebody will hit you up and get you where they want you to go. But in order to do all these things, you gotta be accountable. You gotta make sure that you're holding yourself to a higher standard and higher than the typical. Most people don't want to do all the extra work. You gotta be a person that wants to do the extra work. You gotta be the person that's willing to do what others don't want to do. You gotta be the person that's willing to do that favor that most people aren't gonna do. Plain simple. You gotta do all those things. And then be great at all the basic stuff. Take responsibility. Say I volunteer for this. Do all those things. Think about the system, think about the outliers. What are the things that'll put you ahead? What are the things that other people aren't doing that you could do that could put you ahead? Think about all those things. There's always uh there's always a crack in the system where uh most people don't want to do this said thing. But if you're doing that said thing that no one else wants to do, and you're doing everything else that they're doing, that only increases your value and increases what you're doing. So just focus on those things and then make sure you do them well. Hold yourself accountable when you mess up and make a mistake, own up to it, and then move forward and try not to make that mistake again. That's just how I feel. I'm Juice Castone. This is unseen hours.
