Welcome to episode three of My Father's Business Podcast. I'm so excited about the very special guest that I have here with me today, my cousin and my brother in Christ, Jonathan Cope. Jonathan has admirable joy. He's got a contagious laugh, which you will soon find out, and a fate that moves mountains. I am honored to have him here with us today. Welcome, Jonathan. Yes, praise the Lord. I have always been drawn to Jonathan because of his giant heart of gold. He loves big, he is the light of Jesus wherever he goes. And he's such an encourager. He carries the gift of encouragement. And he also has quite a prophetic gift that he carries. Thank you, Lord. So we're gonna start out by talking about your healing journey because the Lord has done a miraculous healing work. If you'll just start from the beginning, Jonathan, as the Lord leads.

Well, it's about November 19, 1984. I lived in Marion, Florida. And after I was born, I almost died about three or four times because the Bible outside my heart would not close properly like it should. So they had to life like me in a helicopter to Gainesville, Florida, to Shannon's Hospital, which is in Gainesville. So my parents, my mom and dad prayed for me, a lot of people prayed for me, and the doctors were the Lord did a miracle, and the doctors were able to fix the valve outside my heart, which I'm very thankful for the Lord for. Then as time went on, as I got older, um, I couldn't hear or speak until I was seven or eight. So the Lord did a miracle and allowed me to hear and speak when I was seven, right? They put two measures. So at that age, I remember going to a children's crusade type uh church, and I remember a pastor giving a salvation invitation, and I closed my eyes and I prayed and I received the Lord Jesus Christ as my first Lord and Savior. And then after with my parents, and then as I got older, about 13, 14, I kind of felt the call to go into some type of ministry, and my mom knew that. So as then we moved from one place to another place, the Panama City Beach, actually. And we got a house, bought a house at Sunwood, and I went to public high school for how many years that was, and people the teachers there didn't think I was gonna graduate. So thank the Lord. He uh but the Lord provided a way for me to go to Christian school, graduate in 22, went to Bible college. I started working with the retreat that we we started, and still going on in 2009. So I started going to Bible college, started interning with the retreats, God opened doors for me to share the gospel with the Wonder Warrior Caregiver, got the Lord on the spot, got the baptizer with the the help of the chaplain, I got a new vows before weddings and whatnot. So all the while that was going on, 2013 actually comes on, and I actually ended back in the hospital, ended up getting sick, and while all that was happening, the doctor didn't give the report that they didn't think I was gonna live or make it. So I prayed against that. I prayed God's word of myself, my mom and dad, too, and a lot of people prayed for me, and God let me live and heal my body and spare my life. Thank you, Jesus. Yeah. And the the after that, the hoppelist neurologist diagnosed me with this neurological condition, and I was dehydrated. So we got answers on that. So thank God. Thank you, Lord, thank you, Jesus. And then after that, I went to a rehab, got better. Then I graduated Bible college with my degree in biblical counseling in 2017, 2017. Then after that, 2021 comes along, COVID comes along, I ended up back in the hospital, end up having a stroke. People pray for me, God spared my life, and here I am.

Praise the Lord. Look at God. I love how He does that.

And that proves that God's not done with me yet, and He has a plan, and that's why He got me here.

The word that I hear from the Lord is triumph. Triumph in the trials. The Lord's word prevails. So even when the report of the teacher, the report of the doctor, the report of man failed because the report of the Lord triumphs. The report of the Lord prevails. His name is above every other name. When the teacher said that you were not going to even finish high school and you matriculate in college, and here I am sitting in front of a biblical scholar.

And I just feel led to share this with all those people. If you have gone through a lot of things in your life and you've been hurt, you've got medical issues, and you feel like you're not enough, look to Jesus. He says you're enough because he created you in his image and his likeness, and he does you and love you and has a plan for you. You've got to realize that and know that. Regardless of what the enemy throws at you in the lives in the world, regardless, God is there. He loves you. He gave us his word to just let you know that you are valuable and you are kids.

Praise the Lord. Nothing can snatch you out of his hand. No height, no depth, no steam of man can take you from the hand of God. Nothing can separate you from his love. That's right. Thank you, Jesus. So we know that the Lord is still in the business of working miracles. And you are a walking, talking, living, breathing miracle.

So let's let's talk about your faith in all of this. Let's talk about the power of faith and maintaining that faith even when it's hard and facing that adversity. How do you hang on and still believe that there's a good God that that will do these good things when all you're seeing is is bad things happening?

SPEAKER_01 8:05

Well, it's counting all joy. Counting all joy.

SPEAKER_03 8:08

Count it all joy.

SPEAKER_01 8:09

When you fall into trial and temptation, they're gonna come, but what do you do with it? How do you do it? And God's gonna walk with you through it, and he's gonna give you the faith and so trusting you know that he's working and molding me, making me all that he wants me to be for his glory.

That's right. You know, no matter how bad it hurts, because he's more concerned with our what character than he is our comfort. Exactly.

Yeah, and get out of that your self-pity, your oh woe is me, just that another, and say, Hey, God's gotten something, there's a bigger picture in this. God's got something better and more beautiful than ever. To glorify him and be can be humble in that.

And hey, the Lord will never take you where his grace cannot sustain you.

He's never gonna give you more than what you can handle. You have to lean into him. You know, oftentimes we're waiting to see something before we believe it. It's easy to lose faith when you are walking through trials and in the face of adversity, in that moment, it's easy to lose faith. So this morning, during our prayer service, Pastor Stephen Winston at Church of the Highlands was speaking about the man Bartimaeus that was healed. He was a blind man outside of the temple when Jesus was ministering, and he said, Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. And he had great faith, knowing that Jesus could heal. And what Pastor Stephen Winston was saying is that he released the sound of faith. And the sound of faith proclaims who Jesus is. Amen. And when we pray with faith-filled prayers, Jesus, you are my healer, Jesus, you are my redeemer, Jesus, you are my provider. Then he delivers because the word says it only takes what? Faith. How much?

Faith as a mustard seed.

As big as a mustard seed. Amen. And then you can move mountains.

That's right. That's right. And there was a woman, issue of blood, yeah, that she has so much faith that only when she and she believed so much faith that only she believed that she can be hundred percent healed when she touched the Him and Jesus' garment, and she was.

Yes, and what did Jesus say to her?

Your faith has made you whole.

SPEAKER_03 10:51

Yes. Praise the Lord. And this was an ostracized woman. This was a woman that was poverty stricken. He doesn't discriminate against who he's gonna heal. It was her faith that made her well.

That's right, amen.

SPEAKER_03 11:06

And then Jesus praised her for her faith. Amen. And said, daughter, called her daughter.

Exactly.

Your faith has made you well.

She believed with all her heart, and she and it uh uh made her she because of her faith in Jesus, he was completely healed by him.

Amen. So we know faith is part of the armor of God, the shield of faith. Jonathan, talk to us a little bit about how they keep that shield of faith held high and what happens when they do or when they don't.

SPEAKER_01 11:41

When the enemy comes at you like a fiery dart, you show hold up the shield of faith. When you put doubt, put pit pit fear, yeah, puts worry, puts uh uh anxiety, yes, thinking you're not good enough, I'm never gonna be enough. You you and those like the Bible says, casting down those imaginations.

Using that every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God cast it down.

Yes, and you use that faith against the enemy, and you say, you know what? I am more than the conqueror.

Yes.

As great as he does, he does in the world. No matter what's going on, God is on my side, he has me. I I got this because I'm not alone. I have Jesus. He I am I He I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Amen. Yes, amen.

SPEAKER_01 12:31

Not only faith, but the full armor of God you put on so you can stand against the wall of the enemy. Sorry, God, because if you don't have that full armor of God, you're gonna be beat down like nobody's fighting itself. Your mind, your emotion, everything. That's why you put on fully full armor every day. You can fight against those uh ungodly demonic thoughts and evil spirits that come against you. But God has given us that shield and armor for a reason to put it on so we can face the enemy head on. Praise God.

SPEAKER_03 13:06

And that can be found in Ephesians 6. Yes. So full armor of God, the helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, belt of truth, shot my feet in the gospel of peace, the sword of the spirit, and the shield of faith. Tells us to put the full armor on. So it's not just faith in which you see breakthrough. It's every piece.

Every, every every part of the armor that needs to be on to protect you from the wild enemy.

Yeah. So now, Jonathan, what I have seen in you throughout your journey, throughout the healing and the transformation that has taken place and the level of anointing that has poured out over your life along this journey has been incredible to witness. So tell me about this anointing and this passion that you carry, this this um this fire that's within you.

SPEAKER_01 14:06

See, here's the thing. I'm about to preach. The word of God says this gifts and callings are irrevocable. And it says, God puts apart people gifts and callings and anointing. We can about to preach. We can the Lord does not want us to compare our callings and our gifts into other people. We're not called to do that. We're called to be obedient to what he calls to do. He uses every person and every to spread the gospel however God wants to. But you have to be surrendered fully. I'm sorry, I'm about to preach right now. Okay, I'm sorry.

Don't run around the room now.

Okay. See, here's the thing. When you hear the voice of the Lord and He tells you to do something, be obedient and do it.

Yes.

SPEAKER_01 15:12

When you don't do it, you're being disobedient.

SPEAKER_03 15:15

Yes. And the Holy Spirit And delayed obedience is still disobedience.

SPEAKER_01 15:19

Amen. And the thing is, God will bless you for your obedience. That can be in every area of your life. You have to give every area of your life over to Him. And let Him have His way, not your way. And the thing is, we have this flesh and the selfishness want to do it at once, but God Jesus says, crucify it. Deny yourself and follow Him. Because He's worth following. That's good. And because the thing is they will know you by your fruit that you bear. And we and that good fruit bear, the fruit of the spirit that the Bible talks about. Talks about love, joy, peace, uh, patience, and uh and self-control. And the thing is, self-control is when you when you have a temptation, you have you have anger, or you're in a situation, you have to allow the Holy Spirit to take work in your life. You have to you have to choose to allow the choose to have self-control, allowing the Holy Spirit to take control, to let Him do to what God wants to do, not what we want to do. Because get rid of pride and let humbleness take place.

Yes, that's so good. Guide to the fleshly nature because your fleshly nature does not want you to be self-controlled, it does not want you to be disciplined in those fruits. In the scripture, you will know them by their fruits. It's not that you will know who they really are, but you will know Jesus by the fruits if they are emulated, if Jesus is emulated in that person, if they're showing the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self-control, if they are revealing those fruits, then you will know Jesus and be drawn to Jesus through those fruits.

Exactly.

And the enemy wants to keep you as far away from those fruits as possible. He wants you to get caught up in yourself or pride gets in the way and pride brings the destruction.

Wow. So, Jonathan, I want you to speak to the person that is walking through an illness in their body, a disease, and they need some faith.

SPEAKER_01 17:51

Trust and have faith that God can completely heal you from that. Because he's done it for me. That's why I'm a Hellakatak miracle. I've been through much, so much health stuff that God healing power is so amazing. So believe that for yourself and know that he's there in your suffering. And he can in it experience his healing power in every health mentally, emotionally, physically, in every way. Press into his presence, press into him because do not doubt, but have faith in the Lord that he is our great physician besides the other doctors. He is Dr. Jesus. He's our God, he can do anything, nothing is impossible with our God. That's what Jesus said. And that's why have faith and believe and trust God that He can heal your body. And it's evident that no matter what, the enemy is a liar, God is good, and God is faithful to his word. And uh, I want to mention the scripture by his stripes, we are healed.

Yes, yes, amen. That's so good, Jonathan. And I know that's encouraging to those that might be walking through their healing journey right now, and just know that he can do it.

Yes, he can. Yes, you know what I mean. I just feel like the Holy Spirit has put this on my heart to tell everyone that isolation is terminal. Meaning the scripture talks about Ecclesiastes that two are better than one. Basically, what that's saying is it is not God's will and not what God wants you to be by yourself struggling. That's why He puts the right people in your life to help you.

Yes, that's so good. Isolation is terminal. Because when we're cut off from the body, we become more vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy who seeks to still kill and destroy.

And it causes us to give into our weakness and not have accountability.

SPEAKER_03 20:04

Yeah, exactly. Accountability is a big part of that, yes, and when we fall away from the sheepfold, we are left as prey. And we're easy, it's an easy target for the enemy, exactly.

And you put and you become a self-absorbed of itself, we don't have accountability, we fall into sin, and we're we yeah, and we're called to share our burdens with one another and to sharpen one another's swords, exactly, and to use our gifts in the church, that's another big part of it.

Yes, because you might be showing up in church every Sunday, but are you really showing up? Or are you really plugging in and serving and becoming a part of the active body?

Life into your encouragement and truth.

That's so good. That's so good. That's such an important part of walking in this faith journey.

Yes, because when you're struggling and you have health problems and this, that, and other, nobody cares. You gotta pray and ask God that you can provide, and He will. You just gotta get out of your comfort zone and you gotta just God provide and just go, and God provide not to go, and you'll put the right people when you need accountability, he absolutely will, he absolutely will.

He will provide exactly what you need who you need, you know, and it's up to us to walk in that free will, exactly. And you see, God created us for relationship, bingo. We were created to be in community with one another, so that's so important. I'm so glad you brought that up because it's so easy to become isolated, exactly, and to be broken off from the body, and and that's where the enemy gets you. And sometimes it's hard. We have to overcome our fear of man.

Fear of man is a snare, exactly.

People pleasing is a snare. Please Christ and do it. He wants you to do, but that is part of putting yourself with people who love you for who you are, but don't want you to stay there. They want you to grow and not be isolated, but be we could keep up with each other because they're connected and like God is alright.

That's so good. Well, Jonathan, before we go, I would like for us to speak some declarations over our listeners and pray for them. And with great faith, where two or more are gathered in his name, there he will be. And we are believing for your healing, for your transformation, new doors to open, whatever it is you are petitioning to God. We're believing and agreeing with you right now. And we know that the anointing breaks every yoke. So we speak the anointing upon you right now. Every burden has to break, every sickness has to flip. Broken bodies will be made whole. Blind eyes will be open. New doors will be open. Crooked places will be made straight. Rivers will pour out in desert places. He will make a way in the wilderness when there seems to be no way. Jehovah Jireh will provide. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you that we are changed by your presence and healed by your name. So we speak the name of Jesus that is above every other name. Jesus. And we touch the hem of your garment with great faith, believing for healing right now on behalf of our listeners. Wherever you need a healing, lay your hand on that part of your body. Or if you're around someone in your family or a friend, lay your hand on that part of their body right now and agree with us. We touch and agree right now. We pour out the balm of Gilead upon this person and we speak the healing that comes from Jesus. We call every blood cell, every vein, every muscle, every tendon, every bone into divine alignment with Christ Jesus. And we speak to every sickness and every ailment and tell it to come out and come off in Jesus' mighty name.

They will not kill themselves because God has a plan for them. The devil's a liar in Jesus' name. Thank you, Lord. Let every person that doesn't know you come to know you by drawing your Holy Spirit. And that the Lord is He reigns and He's on high in heaven above. He knows what you're going through. He knows what's going on in your heart. Come to Him with everything that you have. Place all your worries, place every pain, every tear. Surrender it all to Him. All we need is you, Jesus. You are in us.

Yes, Jesus. We ask that you go in every broken place and heal it up.

And every wounded and empty place, Lord, you go in and you fill it up, Lord, with your spirit. Only you, Father.

Because we are nothing without you, and they're nothing without you, Jesus. I pray, Lord, we will pursue holiness, they will pursue holiness and become back to their first love. If they have any idols they put forth, let them be gone and let them and get out of life and come back to you, Jesus.
