In the absence of any significant Arsenal news today I turn my attention to a small club who are in a dark place.

SPEAKER_02

Good morning. Not too much annoying of news out of uh the Arsenal camp. A little bit of news potentially about Marino being three to four weeks away from hitting running and things like that. Probably means we might have him for the last two games off the bench, and for him hopefully that means he gets back in time for the World Cup and is still part of the Spain plans because he has been an excellent professional and you would definitely like to see him do that. So over the episode, I've decided I'm gonna turn my focus on a club that bothers me, and that is that shower up the road from the toilet bowl, um, and their small mindedness and their lovely lovely situation. So let's get on with that, and with that, what do we think of Tottenham? She so yeah, so we're gonna knock knock knock a bit of crack out of their suffering, um and we'll get on on with that now. So around 2011-2013, I was over in London working, and that's when I got to go to a number of the Arsenal games. Didn't get to go to the North London derby, but they mattered a lot at the time because we were struggling and there was a lot of talk of mind the gap. So just prior to this, I did a little bit of research um and wanted to see what came up when you gave AI a bit of stuff about Tottenham. And the what it came up with it it mentioned the gap. And between 1991 and 2026, Tottenham only made a trophy with the League Cup in 2008 and the Europa League in 2025. Arsenal won nine FA Cups and four league titles during that time period. Um in Spurs' entire history, they've only won eight FA Cups and two titles. So with that I would like to remind everybody of the toilet pole. So yeah, they are an absolutely atrocious club with with with even bad banter. But what kind of bothered me an awful lot about Spurs was when they did their their new stadium, their capacity just had to be slightly bigger than Arsenal's, and that absolutely just sort of showed their small mindness of oh, we've gotta have this thing that's better. And you know, that'll make us a bigger club and everything like that. And I just thought, oh, you were small, small, small, small, small people.

SPEAKER_01

When when you changed transformation, then the two two goals came very quickly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but Tottenham, it's the history of the Tottenham. So yeah, their uh their their history is really, really uh limited um in recent times. Uh let's let's talk talk about this season and and what uh the AI sort of suggested that maybe I talk about. Then they literally suggested the spurity factor dropping leads. Tottenham have officially dropped the most points in the from winning positions in the Premier League history with a staggering 551 points. That is absolutely astronomical. They won't even be getting near near uh the 51 points this year, which is funny. Probably not even getting 45, in fairness. Um they're they're the first club past 450 uh points and ahead of clubs like Everton and Chelsea in uh quotes throwing it away. So yeah, that is uh that is really quite good. The the current position obviously here from those is relegation zone, and that reminded me of the scene in The Lion King where Simba asked about the dark place. And that one didn't work, but let's go.

SPEAKER_00

You must never go to the relegation zone, that is where the toilet bowl flushes.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, I'm getting getting better better with the equipment. Um so yeah, the spurs are definitely just atrocious, and the memes are lovely. I honestly don't think they're gonna survive this year. Um and I am absolutely loving it. Um they have lost forty eight point five percent of their games played. Fifteen games are all win, seven losses at home. They've actually lost more at home than at home uh than away. Um it's just historically bad. But in fairness, it has been coming. They they had their couple of years where they were quite um I suppose. Yeah, I can I can I can't even say it. She no way I'm I'm gonna give them a compliment. Where they managed to finish above us. Um we did have the lovely uh lasagna gate um incident, and that couldn't have been funnier. And when there's talk of bottling things, that's literally the biggest bottle I think of in the Premier League. And again, they were challenging in 2016 to Leicester, lost it, and then finished behind Arsenal as well. And we had Royley messed up that season, you know, so um yeah. But uh yeah, back to Spurs in the relegation zone. I'm in danger. So yeah, they're very much in in the bad place, and I don't think we talk about that enough in relation to us. Obviously, we were on on for the Quintopple a few weeks ago, where we would we'd win everything and they'd go down. Not sure we're gonna get there yet, but uh you never know. But I don't think we should l forget just how much we have put over Tottenham over the years. Even when Arson Venger was in charge and we had the invincibles, we still struggled with them because they gave us a they raised our game. But you know, we definitely had had uh done them over many tim many, many times. I s I s I was working in in a hotel at one stage and the Arsenal Tottenham game was on and I walked in to see Tottenham equalise and then Arsenal went two and up and I leapt behind behind the bar and you know uh a customer sort of noticed and laughed and came back, came back to the bar probably six, seven months later and goes, Oh, you lead sign. I was like, No, very far from that. And he was like, Spurs, I was like, Oh, you've gone very badly, you've gone worse. And then he went, Oh yes, you were celebrating when Arsenal Arsenal uh scored past Tottenham, and that was the Tony Adams volley, followed by the Dennis Barrkamp uh artistry, and that was a beautiful 3-1 win, and we had many, many beautiful wins um over them, and I think their wins over us are far more chaotic and forgettable. In general, I just think we're a much more organized club. I I don't you know, I I posed the question on 606 many years ago. Why come like from mid-80s onwards did Arsenal have success and Spurs didn't? You know, you you look at it similar size stadiums, similar fan base, neither team had pr done particularly well, and then Arsenal got George Graham, they went Terry Venables, and you sort of had diverging paths. And we've you know they're rivals by location, not by anything else. And I think you look at the Saul Campbell ad and you see something beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

A time when people start to wonder if the grass might be greener. Why don't they switch sites and change allegiances? Take it from me. Big moves. Payoff. Sure, people will have opinions. Who cares what people think? Of course you can stay with them for another year, but is anything really gonna change? Does it look like it to me? So if you're thinking about transferring this January, I say go for it. It's not like you're doing anything outrageous. You're just switching to something much, much better. The Google Pixel. Gemini, what were we just talking about?

SPEAKER_04

We were talking about separating delicate whites from strong colours like red in your wash cycle.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that was it.

SPEAKER_02

And that was a beautiful, beautiful piece of advertising, and then we uh proceeded to absolutely thrash them. Um, so uh, you know, that's just something beautiful. And because of that, my next phone was uh Google Pixel, and it is much, much, much better. Uh just to be clear, not sponsored by Google, uh, otherwise I'd be doing this from a golden chair. But yes, you know, uh but during the summer, um I think you know the there probably won't be much Arsenal news during the um during the World Cup, so what I may do is do chronicle a Spurs journey through the premier through the championships next season.

SPEAKER_04

What's his name?

SPEAKER_02

What the bloody hell am I doing in how you're going there because you deserve it. She So yeah, uh I think I might cut this one short short today just uh because why not? But um just remember no matter how shit our problems are, we're not spurs. And that's always a good reason to uh to smile.
