A Mom’s 90-Minute Plan For Real Business Momentum
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
You’re not failing at business because you “can’t stay consistent” you’re trying to build a dream inside a life that already demands everything. I’m talking to the mom who’s juggling drop-offs, laundry, meal prep, big feelings, and maybe five quiet minutes if the stars align, yet still feels pulled toward a mission she can’t shake. The guilt is real: guilty when you work, guilty when you don’t, and exhausted from believing you have to choose.
I share a simple, practical time management framework for moms that I use myself and teach in coaching: the 90-minute daily business builder. We break it into three focused 30-minute blocks you can stack together or spread across your day: visibility and lead generation (so new people actually find you), value and connection (so trust grows through email, live answers, and real-life storytelling), and monetization (so you make the offer and create cash flow with follow-ups, sales emails, and a simple funnel or checkout page).
You’ll also hear a real story of a busy mom who thought she had zero time, then found 45 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes during screen time, and 15 minutes after bedtime. With focused effort, she signed paying clients in weeks and replaced part-time income in months. I close with a “margin map” challenge so you can spot your own pockets of time and build a business in the margins of motherhood without late-night hustle.

Welcome And Why It Feels Impossible
SPEAKER_00Welcome to today's episode, How to Build a Business in the Margins of Motherhood. Let's be honest, being a mom is already a full-time job, and trying to build a business on top of that, it feels impossible on some days. You've got laundry, school drop-offs, meal prep, meetings, meltdowns, and maybe even maybe, maybe five minutes to yourself if you are lucky. So when you hear somebody say, just work a little harder or be more consistent in your business, it's laughable, right? But here's what I want to tell you today. You don't need eight hours a day to build a business. You don't need to hustle until midnight. You just need 90 minutes, focus every day, and a smart plan that fits your season. In this episode, I'm going to give you every time smart strategy that will help you to build real momentum in your business without sacrificing your family or your sanity. So let's dive in. Here's what I know about you. You have a dream. You have a business idea, a mission, a message. You want to do something that matters, but life is loud. Your kids need you. Your job pulls at you. Your home requires constant attention. And somewhere in there, you're also supposed to eat, sleep, and maybe see your husband every now and then. So your dream, it gets pushed to the bottom of the to-do list. And again, that hurts because you care deeply about it. You don't want to just give up on your business, but you also don't want to be a ghost in your own life. That's where burnout comes in. You feel guilty working on the business when your kids want attention. You feel guilty being with your kids when your business needs attention. And you start to believe the lie that maybe you just can't do both. But friend, I'm here to tell you that you can. You just need a new rhythm.
Time Is Fixed, Focus Is Not
SPEAKER_00Let me break a myth real quick. You do not need more time. And the fact of the matter is, you're not going to get more time. We all just have 24. But you do need better focus during the time that you already have. Most moms aren't wasting time, they're just fragmented. Their energy is being pulled in a hundred directions at one time. So even when they sit down to do work, they don't know where to start. We end up scrolling, we get distracted, we open 17 different tabs and we finish none of the things that we're working on. And then at the end, we feel like a failure. And trust me, it's not about discipline or hustle, it's about clarity and intention. Here's a truth that I have found in my life. You can move your business forward in just as little as 90 minutes a day if you focus on the right things in the right order. I'm going to give you the 90-minute daily business builder framework that I've used in my businesses, and it's helped countless moms that I coach as well.
The 90-Minute Daily Rhythm
SPEAKER_00Here's a framework I give my coaching clients who are moms in full-on busy seasons. I call it the 90-minute daily business builder. You're going to divide your time into three 30-minute blocks. You're going to do one block at a time, or you can break it up across your day, whatever works for you. Maybe your kids are taking a morning nap, you do one block. If your kids are watching a movie, do another block. In your evening window, you can do the last one. However, it works for you, but 90 minutes is all you
Block One: Be Seen
SPEAKER_00need. The first block is all about visibility and lead generation. I want you to spend 30 minutes on this. Why? Because your business doesn't grow if new people don't see it. In this block, I want you to focus on one thing that gets you in front of some new eyes. You can post a reel or a short. You can comment in a Facebook group that you belong to. You can send a DM to a potential collaborator or share value in your Instagram stories. It's not about being everywhere. It's just about being seen and being consistent in the places where it counts. Now I know this may feel intimidating or uncomfortable or sometimes overwhelming, but trust me, you're strong and you've got grit and you are a master of multitasking. You can find time to do one of these things in a 30-minute time frame. I'm confident.
Block Two: Build Trust
SPEAKER_00In block number two, this is about value and connection. Most people buy from people that they trust. It's why recommendations from friends carry so much weight. So your goal in this 30-minute block is to develop trust with people. So take some time and write an email to a list that you've been building. Or go live and answer a question that you know your customers might have. Record a podcast or a short YouTube video. You can even share a real moment from your life that is relatable to others. Remember, you're not selling all the time. You're actually serving. And for people to believe that you're actually there to serve them, it starts by showing them who you are and showing them that you get them.
Block Three: Create Cash Flow
SPEAKER_00Block number three is where you actually are doing some of the money-making activities. And that is making your offer and beginning to monetize. So you've built visibility because you've done the other two things, right? Your trust is starting to increase as well. But if you don't give people an opportunity to buy your product or service or offer them a way to pay you, actually all you've done is just make some really great content. So in this final block, I want you to focus on actions that lead directly to income. So take a moment to follow up with a potential client or send an offer or sales email, maybe promote your product, or build a simple funnel or a checkout page that people could actually do a transaction. Again, the goal here is to create cash flow. Even if it's small, if it's repeatable, it will add up to a lot over time. So let's recap your 90 minutes. Block number one, be seen. Block number two, build trust. Block number three, make the ask. If you do this five days a week, that's only seven and a half hours. And I promise it's more effective than someone spinning their wheels for 20 hours with no focus and no plan.
A Client Proves The Framework
SPEAKER_00Let me tell you a story about a coaching client. She's a mom of three, a homeschooler, and has a part-time job. She thought she had zero time to actually build her dream business, but we worked together to find her daily margins. It turned out she had 45 minutes in the morning before her kids woke up, 30 minutes while they had screen time, and 15 minutes after the kids went to bed. We applied this 90-minute rhythm, and within six weeks, she had two paying clients. Within four months, she had replaced her part-time income. The magic wasn't in her schedule, it was in her focus. She worked the margins, and those margins added up to momentum. You can do the exact same thing.
Your Margin Map And Next Steps
SPEAKER_00So here's your challenge this week. Create your own margin map. Pull out your calendar, look at your day, not with shame, but with the mindset of strategy. Ask yourself, when are my quiet hours? When can I be productive? What can I remove in my calendar to make space? Where can I do the focus work, even if it's only in 30-minute bursts? Don't wait for perfect conditions because I'm telling you, those never happen. Work in the pockets of time that you have and make doing this for yourself a priority that you don't trade off for less important things. You matter, your dreams matter, and your business matters. It's time to make the investment, even if it's just in the margins of motherhood. So listen, mama, this is not about hustling harder. It's about building smarter. You can build the business in the margins of motherhood. Trust me, I've done it, and so can you. You can do meaningful work while raising your kids well. You can grow something beautiful one focused day at a time. So drop me a comment and tell me what's one margin of time in your day that you can use intentionally starting today. I'm here to support you and cheer you on. And don't forget to subscribe and grab your free worksheet down at the bottom. I've put something special there for you. And if this was helpful, share this with another person who needs the reminder that they don't need more time in the day, they just need a plan that fits in the margins. Thank you so much for tuning in to the Mom Ball Circle. I'll see you in the next episode.
