Welcome back to another week of Still Figuring It Out. I'm Josh. I'm with my co-host Britt, and we are still trying to figure it out. This week we're gonna talk just about what we've been up to this past couple weeks. You know, we had a two-week series that did uh great. A lot of people enjoyed it, a lot of people related to it, you know, so that was nice to see. But what have you been up to, Britt?
SPEAKER_00Well, if you remember last week, I had to give you a call to come help me with the flat I had on the bridge, man. I I really do appreciate you coming out there. I I know you say that it's nothing, but it was a lot to me. I had my family with me and people flying on that bridge.
SPEAKER_01Hey, that was that was kind of scary. It was pitch black, you know. So one one side where like our feet are hanging in the road, the other side of the road is water that you cannot see because it's so black. It was it was wild.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I had my daughter with me too, like I said, and you know, it's like you know, do I leave her in the car where I know she's safe or get her out?
SPEAKER_01And I don't know, it's just yeah, it was it was a it was a weird thing, but you know, luckily we had that guy with uh I I guess he was like a a service guy of some sort. I don't know, yeah, some type of emergency because he had a he had a vest, he had the it was spotlight, the lights on the top.
SPEAKER_00It was funny because you know, yeah I I had the flat, whatever, and and I turned my hazard lights on, and I'm not sitting there 30 seconds and I just see lights. It's not you know, it's just like the the white lights, and it's just sitting there glaring. And my wife's like trying to get out, and I'm like, no, no, no, you know, if that's a cop, you don't ever want to get out, just just wait, and she's getting mad and all that. And then finally he blares over the speaker. You can get out if you want to. It's like, oh, okay. And then I realized it wasn't a cop.
SPEAKER_01No, yeah, but it was it was really nice because you know, he he stood out there the whole time we was changing that tire and he he directed traffic, you know, made him slow down. Like though that was that was a huge plus. That was because man, if if it wasn't for him, like it'd have been it'd have been even scarier.
SPEAKER_00Man, if it wasn't for him, I may have just driven that half mile or a quarter mile and just got off the bridge. Because, you know, you hate to hate to lose a rim, but man, uh I'd definitely rather do that than lose a lose a life.
SPEAKER_01Risk dying. So no, but it was I mean, you was right in the middle of that bridge, you know. Luckily, that bridge is new and they made that shoulder because if it was three years ago, yeah, there'd have been you would you would have had to drive up because there was nowhere to go. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, yeah, but uh, like I say, yeah, appreciate you doing that, man. That that was super helpful. Uh other than that, you know, just same old been working, been keeping up with the NBA, all that good stuff. Not too much else changed. Uh sounds like you had a pretty big week, though.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, I I did. Uh speaking of going back to your tire deal while I was cranking, man. I ran my knuckles on the road and like, oh, dude, it hurts so bad. I didn't realize it at the time, but when I was driving home, I was like, man, my knuckles hurt. Turned my light on in my truck, like I had like gravel on my knuckle and a little bit of blood. I was like, God, what happened?
SPEAKER_00Had some adrenaline going on.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, dude. It was it hurt. No, but uh, yeah, I had a I had a good week, man. You know, like, you know, we've been, we obviously do these, you know, a week or two before, but this one is this one comes out tomorrow. You know, we've kind of taken a couple weeks off and and we just kind of did our own thing, spent time with our family during Memorial Day weekend, you know. But yeah, I've had a crazy couple weeks. So I went to game, I went to game one, you know, double overtime. Well, you gotta explain game one of what? Game one of the Western Conference Finals. So I went to that and playing, where was it? Oh, I think everybody knows where it was. If my wife's listening, she's not gonna have a clue what she's talking about. No, yeah. So I, you know, I went to Oklahoma City, got to watch the Spurs, go in Oklahoma City and steal a game, which was so cool, man. Like, you know, there was probably maybe a hundred Spurs fans out of the 17,000.
SPEAKER_00I think a lot of people are saying that that might be the best game they've ever seen.
SPEAKER_01Dude, I that was an instant classic, man. Like, I sit there and I said after that game, I can't do seven games of that because, dude, my I I thought I was gonna die of a stroke. Like, I mean, I was my blood pressure was high, it was going up and down, you know, because we've winning the whole game, and then all of a sudden, with two minutes left, we they the Thunder take the lead, and then we come back and we we tie it, you know, and then we go into first overtime. And then first over hey, first overtime, yeah. The first first overtime, they get up seven, and I'm like, oh my gosh, what are we doing? The Wimby comes across and hits that three feet from half court three, you know, and I'm okay, there's a chance. And then, you know, it just all falls into order. And then, man, and like I said, we get the wind, dude, and I'm I'm going crazy. I'm sitting in a sea of a sea of blue with all these thunder people, and I'm just yelling, go Spurs, go, you know, because they've been they've been screaming, you know, OKC the whole time, or defense, and and I'm just like, oh my gosh, dude, if I lose this game, I might not only just lose, I might get beat up. You know, like and then after we won, I start going crazy. Me and me and the other three Spurs fans I can see in a a 50 feet radius of me, you know, and and it was it was just it was a fun game, man. Like the winner of that game deserved it, the loser of that game didn't deserve to lose. You know what I mean? Like, it was just one of those games. It was just a great game. And I I think this series has gone down to maybe one of the better series of the NBA. Like, I mean, it's been Yeah, I would say it probably the best one. It's the best series I've seen in a long time. Yeah, for sure. A long time. And then, you know, we um we watched game two, game three, my wife and I drove to San Antonio. We yeah, we drove down to San Antonio and watched the game.
SPEAKER_00So you saw the visitors win both games.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, yeah. So so maybe I need to go tonight, you know, because maybe not. The visitors been winning when I'm there. No, but uh, but yeah, like I said, I mean, so we drove straight down there on Friday, man. I had a great time. How long? How long a drive was that? It was about a five-hour and 40-minute drive. So about six hours, you know. But we drove down there, we we did that whole thing, and had a blast. I mean, like I said, we lost the game, which sucked, you know, but it was it was still a fun experience, be able to go to a a Western Conference Finals game in San Antonio with the people that I cheer for, you know what I mean? So I had a ton of Spurs fans, and and you know, we got to sit with the Fiesta colored shirts, so we got the shirts that were like the blue and the orange and the the pink. We sit in the like the teal blue section, and my wife wearing a pink shirt. So after the game, you know, I told a guy pay him 20 bucks for his shirt, and he was like, Oh, sure, here you go. And he just gave me the shirt, so it worked out good, and so she got the pink shirt and the and the blue shirt. Like he was wearing it and just wearing it, no, he yeah, he just had it tossed over his shoulder because he wasn't gonna wear the pink shirt, I guess. I I don't know. But yeah, so we we got both those shirts, so she was happy. I was happy because I got to watch the Spurs in person again, and I got to get another jersey. You know, I've I've wanted the gray Dylan Harper jerseys for a long time. And any, and like I go on NBA shop, they don't have two XL, they never have my size, you know, and obviously they're not gonna sell them in any stores around here because it's either Wimby, the only Spurs jersey you'll find anywhere is a Wimby jersey. And which is fine, you know. I mean, I have all the Wimby jerseys, but I wanted Dylan Harper jersey. He's like my second favorite player right now, you know. So I was able to get that jersey that I wanted. I got to get my daughter, Ivy. She she's a diehard Spurs fan of herself. Indy, Indy is a thunder lover, like she loves OKC. But my daughter Ivy, she is a hardcore Ghostburst go. She wouldn't even call San Jonio Spurs. She's the Ghostburge Go. Ghostburst goes. And and and Indy, and Indy is the OKC. Like, so it's it's OKC against the Ghostburst Go. So that's what they call themselves, you know. But it's cute, like they they love it, you know. And I was able to get her a couple shirts down there.
SPEAKER_00So, all right, I want you to give me a an honest, unbiased answer. If you think I don't know the thing. Is there such a thing with me though? No, there's not.
SPEAKER_01But uh let's try it. Let's try it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so which building was louder?
SPEAKER_01Okay, so yeah, that that that's honestly an easier question. I think the louder building would be the thunder because I feel like it's smaller, and like you're more you're thinking, you're thinking you're one of the smaller buildings. You're more you're more closer to like I was you know, I'm a big guy. I'm sitting here. Yeah, I'd had to get two seasons. Yeah, I mean, I'm yeah, no, I'm sitting here kind of packed. But I think the the energy of San Antonio is better.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I'll and obviously for you it's gonna be better because it's it's well not just that, so you know the Spurs had the the Jackals.
SPEAKER_01The the Jackals are like like that's Wimby's thing. He brings like the soccer feel to it, you know. He's a big soccer fan. But I mean, they just do chants. Matter of fact, I got a paper up there, and it shows, you know, just like they had like eight different chants that they do, and the jackals lead it, and the whole stadium does it, you know, like like it's like ole, ole, ole, ole, ghostburs, ghost. That's just one of them, you know. And then they have like a Wimby chant, they have a castle chant, they have a a Harper chant, they have a Vassell chant, like they have all these chants for all these different players, and and you know, they it's it's like a Hispanic culture, so it's fun, you know, it's a party, it's a fiesta, like it's just cool, man. You know, so it's I do think the Thunder Stadium is louder. Like at because they do this little get loud thing where they just scream all at once. And but but the energy level, the whole game is probably San Antonio. Yeah. Like, I mean, like I said, they and I do think the loudest stadium in the NBA is is probably is probably the Thunder. But again, overall, just the constant loudness is is probably louder than like Staples Center or Madison or yeah, yeah, MSG, I'm sure, and which you know that was one thing that speaking of MSG, like Infinity, you know, she was a Thunder fan. This series has kind of led her the other way because she doesn't really like how the Thunder play, you know. And then the fans really they they were they were vulgar. They were they were pretty they were pretty pretty bad, honestly. Like they would just cry over every call. You know, it was just it is what it is, man, you know. But Infinity, she's like, if you ever played basketball a day in your life, you know that's a foul. Why are we screaming and crying about it being the not being a foul? Like, they've showed on the replay, it's clearly a foul. They reviewed it, it's the foul, and they're still boo, you know. So Infinity hates those kind of fans, and but but then I was like, hey, you know, if the Spurs happen to win this series, we're going to Madison Square Garden, you know, because that's me and Infinity City. We love New York City. Yeah. I was like, we're gonna go to Madison Square Garden, we're gonna watch a game. Have you ever been there? To New York City? No, well, we've walked around it, yeah, but we've never been inside. But uh, we've never really gone during basketball season either, you know. So I was like, you know what, we're gonna we're gonna do it. We're gonna do it. If if if the Spurs make it to the NBA finals and it's the Knicks, we're gonna go. I mean, I've got my hotel booked, but now after have you seen how much those tickets are? The nosb the cheapest tickets for the for the for the finals in in New York City are $3,500 a ticket. There ain't no way. That's that's crazy, man. Like oh, they can already sell them because they don't know when they're right. Yeah, they because the I mean either way, either way, the Western Conference has a home home court because they have the better record.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I got one. Do you know how much do you think season tickets would cost at Madison Square Garden?
SPEAKER_01Oh, it's it's it's crazy. Because here's the thing. So I tried to get the weekend tickets for the Spurs this this year, and I've tried I've tried for next year, but I live in Oklahoma, so they won't sell them to me. They're like, well, you gotta live, you gotta live in a hundred mile radius of San Antonio because so many, so many bookies are trying to get are trying to get tons of tickets so they can sell them and make money off of them. I'm like, dude, I'm a fan. I'm I I really literally want to go to the game on the weekends. Like, I will do that. I will drive that distance and go to the games. Like, right. They're like, we we can't we can't sell them to you because you are in Oklahoma and you're so far away. And they're like, well, what about I was like, what about Dallas? And they're like, eh, maybe Dallas, I can get it approved. So I used my cousin's, my cousin's address. I called and asked her if I could use her address. She's like, of course. Well, they still like no, it's still too far. And I'm like, Golly, man. Like, so but so those tickets, and I they were decent seats. I mean, you know, they were not lower level, but they were like the mid-level 100 areas. Those were $12,000 for two seats for 15 games. So if it's if if it's if it's that much for 15 games, dude, there's no telling what it is for Madison Square Garden.
SPEAKER_00So I know, so this has been 15 years ago, but at that time to get season tickets, it was a million dollars. Now, what's cool though, that is your seat for that entire calendar year. So if there's a Miley Cyrus concert, now that is pretty cool. If they're having construction even, you can just you can still go there and and sit in your seat just any time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that that is that is pretty cool. Yeah, because but because then you could sell a lot of like exactly you could sell your seats and make some money back, but a million dollars is just astronomical. Like that's that's crazy. But you know, there's people out there that can do that, man. They can they can spend that kind of money. And I obviously I can't, I don't have a million dollars in my name. I don't have that's probably what a quarter million for us down here in Oklahoma. Yeah, you know. Yeah, probably probably because I mean, you know, they get paid so much more there. They you know it's just yeah, yeah, it's it's crazy, you know. Like, we'll go eat, dude. Like, when you go to New York and you go to breakfast, breakfast is probably one of your most expensive meals of the day in New York. So, dude, like Infinity and I will go eat and it'll probably be about $70 just for the two of us. Is it worse than Vegas? Oh, 100% worse than Vegas. You know, and I was in Vegas just this past week, like you know, but I was talking to you about before the show. It really wasn't bad, man. Like that was my first time to be in Vegas for in a long time. And you know, the Ubers there, like we got the premium Ubers every time because the premium Ubers were cheaper, which were like the the Infinities, the the Cadillacs, the um the Lincolns, you know, like the nicer Uber.
SPEAKER_00So not like the Uber Black, but the right, yeah. But I mean, right.
SPEAKER_01Well, they didn't have Uber Black as a list, it was just Uber Premium. Oh, and but it was cheaper than the the standard Uber that you know, like the normal Toyota Corollas or the the Hyundai's or the Honda.
SPEAKER_00Like I guess most people wouldn't think to go to the premium.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't know. It was just so weird, but it was five or six dollars cheaper every every ride with the premium. And I told him, she was like, Why do we keep getting these crazy nice cars? I was like, look, I was like, because they're cheap. Like, I don't know why. Like, but they they were they were cheaper. That is so I saved so much money by getting getting the nice the premiums over the the normal the normal rides, you know. So like so it didn't make any sense, but you know, like I said, but backtrack, you know, going coming home from San Antonio was kind of rough. I bet because we so if it wasn't for our daughter's birthday party on Saturday. Oh, so you had to drive back that night. Oh, dude. We drove straight down there Friday, went to the game and drove straight back. We got back at five in the morning on on Saturday morning because our our twins they had their fifth birthday party that day.
SPEAKER_00So that's probably a seven-hour drive back, probably an hour and a half to get out of the stadium.
SPEAKER_01Well, so no, so what we did, we got to the car, and I just hit the seat back and I took a small nap. And and by the time I woke up, it was like 11:15, 11:30, and the state and the parking lot was clear, and I just was able to drive out, you know. So, so that was that was nice. I and I got a little nap in, but we drove straight through, man. I mean, I got a little tired, so Infinity, she woke up from her her nap and she drove a couple hours, and then I switched back and I drove the rest away. But I mean, it was it was a long drive home, especially after a loss, you know. I mean, that kind of sucked. But if if if it wasn't for the girls' birthday party, we we might have stayed and went to game four, which game four would have been fun because you know that was one of the games we won by 20 in. So that would have been that would have been a fun game.
SPEAKER_00It wouldn't have been you wouldn't have had, I mean, it was basically over by halftime, though. But yeah, but it was still.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I win's a lot better anyway. Driving home want to win it anyway, you know. But but I definitely, like I said, I definitely had a good time. It's been a fun series, though man. You know, a lot of people complaining about the officiating, and I that that wears me out. Like I that's one thing I I won't complain about is the officiating, you know. Right either way, the only thing I've complained about this whole series is you know SGA flopping. You know, that and but they they all flop. But he hasn't done it that much. And he hasn't, and he has but he hasn't done the last two games, struggled, but you know, but like the the the flopping man just wears me out. And you know, Wimby does it too. I mean he does, but I don't know if you've seen that stat with the with the flopping percentage or whatever, the the falling down percentage. Have you seen that? Yeah, he just doesn't have good balance after he shoots. Well, yeah, come on. Like, I just yeah, it's it's it's it's getting out of hand, you know. Like, but Jalen Brunson was second, and I mean he was like 30% lower than what SGA was. You know, like you're you're an elite athlete, dude. You know what I mean? Like, there's no way you're gonna sit there and fall. Like Chet, but MB, I can see them because it you know, they're eight foot tall and they're this big around, but hold up. If it works, why not? Yeah, right. And that's and that's what SGA's excuse is. Is it well if I mean I'm just gonna do what what you know the grades of men there is?
SPEAKER_00There's an art to selling it, but here's the thing. Let me ask you this. If the NBA came up, instead of having their flop rule that they don't even enforce, anyways, about fines that 10,000, 15,000, what if when you flopped the other team got a free throw?
SPEAKER_01But but here's the problem is how can you really tell it's a flop? How do you know they really didn't fall? Now, I mean, obviously, some of the time, you know, when SGA fall, like the one with with De'Aaron Fox, like when he went, you know what I mean? Like you could tell that was a few.
SPEAKER_00Just like a foul, they're not gonna catch all of them, but but if if I I would feel like you would catch a pretty high percentage. I do feel like that would make you stay up on your feet a lot better. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and and I can and I could see that. I but but then are we but we're changing the game of basketball. We're making we're making up rules, you know. I just don't know if there's a other way around it. But I I don't know. I I think that would help. I I I do too. I I think it would help. I I I really do. But I don't know. It's just uh it's a hard situation, you know.
SPEAKER_00Like the they grab the jerseys, they because I mean you look at other sports like NFL with hitting hitting the quarterbacks, they change that. Baseball's changed a lot of you know, you you can only pick off so many times, and you got timers and and I think Grandma Baseball has has gotten great with all those new new rules. I mean and it's gotten a lot faster too. Oh, some of the okay, you're right. Some of the rules I do like. I don't I'm not a fan of them getting rid of the shift. Yeah, I think you should be able to get it. Yeah, I agree.
SPEAKER_01I do agree with that.
SPEAKER_00But I don't like how the games evolved in in terms of how they play. Yeah, I don't like how there's so many hitters that are it's either a strikeout or a home run. Yeah. But the rules some of the rules, yeah. I I do like.
SPEAKER_01I do, I do like the fact that, you know, if you pick off so many times and that third time you pick off, they if you try to pick them off, it's an automatic pace. Like that dude, that takes away so much time because you know, games used to be like four hours.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but here's the thing it are people that didn't like baseball before that didn't like going to the four-hour games and now they're two and a half, three. Are they really watching that many more games?
SPEAKER_01Like, I'm fine with go to the game, I'm fine with the baseball. We're baseball guys, we're baseball guys, we don't mind watching games. Like we we enjoy watching the game. It it I don't know. Maybe I do feel like they've they've trying to target those people that don't watch baseball.
SPEAKER_00But I but how many of them are they actually gonna pull in to watch it? Right, yeah, is my thing.
SPEAKER_01Um, I don't I don't know. I just each sport has their flaw, you know. And and you know, Chris Paul's one of the greatest ones about you know manipulating the rules, you know. I mean, crap, him and Wimby got disqualified two years ago in the in the All-Star.
SPEAKER_00See I don't know if your Wimby guy is has has all the integrity that they that they talk about, man, with that elbow he threw. I mean the elbow. I didn't you see I didn't mind the elbow. Like, I mean him throwing a random elbow to a guy's eye.
SPEAKER_01But but you but you want 90s basketball.
SPEAKER_00What do you mean I didn't say that?
SPEAKER_01But but but everybody else does.
SPEAKER_00They it wasn't it wasn't even it was just like he's just right behind me and just no, and and and again, I mean, how many times can you beat people on your back? Even if I did, even if I do want 90s basketball, I'm just saying, I just don't know if he's like, you know, the the he got labeled as like this guy that's just full of integrity, and and and I think for the most part, in terms of an NBA player, he's probably better than 70, 80 percent. I don't know if it's integrity, but I don't know if he's I think he wants to win.
SPEAKER_01I and I don't think there's any discussion about that. Yeah. I mean Oh, he's a competitor for sure.
SPEAKER_00People people got mad because he didn't want to talk after a loss. Yeah, see, I don't care.
SPEAKER_02Do you want to talk after a loss? You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00The the media's gonna hype it because it hurts the Them. Yeah, I don't care.
SPEAKER_01I don't care about but like uh I I I truly think he's bringing the old school game back. Like, I mean, he tried the MB, you know, the NBA All-Star game. Like, he, I mean, the dude, like, and that's what I like about him. Like, he's he's not afraid to hurt somebody's feelings. You know, we are so worried about everybody's a winner, or let's not make him mad. Like, he don't care about that, you know. That's another thing I like about Anthony Edwards, dude. I would love to have Anthony Edwards on my team. Oh, yeah. Dude, he's a dog, man. Like that dude just wants to play and he wants to win. Like, yeah, dude, I would trade Fox and man, I want to say Castle, but I don't know. I'd I'd I'd trade a couple players for for Anthony Edwards. Well, I'm sure you would. You know, and some first round picks.
SPEAKER_00Top 10 player in the league.
SPEAKER_01You know, but I like I just love how he plays. Just like Alex Caruso, dude. I can't stand Alex Caruso, but he's a player that I would love if he was on my team. He's like Draymond Green. Like, I can't stand Draymond Green.
SPEAKER_00It may not be that bad, but I know what you mean.
SPEAKER_01But I mean, you know, he's just one of those players that you can't stand. But if he's on your team, you're like, dude, I like this guy. Like, he's a dog, you know, like he wants to, he's he's a fighter, like he don't care.
SPEAKER_00And and he he's good about not like taking recognition and kind of staying low-key. Yeah. And you kind of forget about him until you don't.
SPEAKER_01But what I like, but I mean, watch watch after tonight's game when because you know Caruso's gonna do something big. He always does. Well, watch what he does after he does something big. He ain't afraid to turn around to the crowd and mouth the crowd, or turn to a player and put it, put his finger in somebody's in somebody's face and say, This is what you got. You know, like yeah, he's doing it to LeBron. I mean people do it to LeBron. I mean, that's what I'm saying, man. Like guys like that, dude. You gotta have those guys. You can't have dude. Chet, he's been terrified this whole series. He looks like a warp pup.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, it's it's been bad. Yeah, I I think I don't know. That's it everyone's saying how much Wimby hates him. And I don't I don't think they care about each other at all. I don't I don't think but I don't think Chet has that same feeling towards him.
SPEAKER_01But I don't think Wimby has that feeling either. He may not. I don't I don't think they I think they just want to win, but they're on the offset team.
SPEAKER_00But I heard but he clearly likes, I mean, he clearly, you know, when he feels like he's deserving of an award like the MVP, you know, and then they had that whole 19 and underleague that Chet won the MVP. I I think there's a little animosity there from that.
SPEAKER_01And well, and you know, they like people people didn't complain when Kobe came out and said, I think I should be the MVP in the Defensive Player of the Year. You know what I mean? He did the same thing. Yeah. I mean, but that's that's Oh, did a lot of people complain about Wimby saying Oh, that that they complained, oh, he shouldn't, he shouldn't say that. Why? SPEAKER_01No, and and like I said, I that I see people complain about, and the thing is they tag me in stuff, dude. After we lose a game, Brit, it's so bad. You know, I'll get people messaging me and texting me, and you know, matter of fact, I'll I'll say it because I know I know one of them listens to the podcast regularly. Sean. Yeah, I know you're listening, Sean Stovall. Okay. Hey, this guy will let me have it. You know, but but he he honestly really is a a pretty I mean he's he's a he's a huge Thunder fan, but he's a realist as well. Right now, Scott, boy, Scott, man, he's he's he don't understand. Like that dude, anything, anything Wimby does is bad, it's negative, it's wrong. If SJ does it, dude, it's perfectly fine. It's legal. So he's just your opposite. Oh, dude, he is me. He's me in the thunder jersey, and he's even bald, you know. So but but yeah, you know, and then I got guys like Taryn Reems, he's he's all over the place with the thunder.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I mean I'll I'll hit you up after a win or a loss and say something, but I'm not taking it.
SPEAKER_01These these guys are bad, boy. They let me have it. But but uh, you know, it it's fun, it's fun. And that's what I like about it, you know. I mean, we're fans and it's fun, you know. Like, I don't get mad. I I I think it's fun, I think it's funny, you know, but like it's um most people are age dump, but man, there's still a lot of there are there are people out there that seriously get upset. You know, like and but my thing is is like if if the Spurs happen to lose tonight, I'm gonna go to sleep tonight and I'm gonna wake up and and I'm still gonna be the same person I am. Like it that this game doesn't affect me. I have no I have no skin in the game. I have no I'm not playing, I don't work for the organization, like it does nothing to me. You know what I mean? Like I'm not gonna lose sleep over the Spurs losing or winning. Like, yeah. Now you best believe tomorrow if if we do win, I'm gonna I'm probably gonna wear a Wimby jersey to church or or something crazy just to kind of poke fun at the Thunder fans. But but like I said, I I mean it is what it is. It doesn't, it doesn't affect now. When I was younger, dude, when when like Oklahoma State lost, dude, I was upset. You know, like or if the Spurs lost, I'd be upset. But right, yeah. I got to a point where I realized that it didn't have anything to do with my life, it didn't affect my life in any way, shape, or form. So so it is what it is. Right.
SPEAKER_00You know, I I probably hit I probably hit that point a little earlier, but also a little later when whenever I quit, you know, taking out a loan to bet on it. Yeah, then it does affect you. Yeah, then it does affect you.
SPEAKER_01No, but yeah, like I said, I just I it is what it is. If we if we lose, we lose. And you know, if if the thunder does win, I'm gonna, you know, I I don't know if you've seen my lights that I have on my house that change colors and all that stuff. Yeah. Well, right now, all ever since the playoffs started, the the Spurs lights have stayed on, the Fiesta colors have stayed on. But you know, if if we lose, my daughter's a Thunder fan. Both, I mean, Indy and Riley and Steven. I mean, so some of my kids are Thunder fans. So, you know, if we go, I'm I will turn the Thunder lights on, and and it has like a little lightning effect where the lights are flash. And and I I have one set up for Oklahoma City Thunder because I am in Oklahoma. You know, my family, my some of my kids are Thunder fans. Like, that don't bother me. It doesn't, you know, like people think it it makes me mad, but I I don't it doesn't bother me, you know. Like, and and I will root for the thunder, you know, if they play, if they play the Knicks, I'll root for the Thunder. I want I want the team to come out the West. Because if if if the Thunder does win and we get and they get beat in the finals, that means we're the third best team, not the second best team. You know what I mean? So like so now I'm I'm rooting for them, you know. So at least I can say we're gonna be by the champions, you know. So it is what it is. Again, if you ask me, I think the Spurs win or not. Um but I mean I it's gonna be it's gonna be a it's gonna be a dog fight.
SPEAKER_00It is. And man, but a week ago, I would have told you that this was the finals, but man, the now I don't know, man. The Knicks Knicks are looking good. And I know I know it's you know, the East is a lot weaker, but man, how much rest are they gonna have?
SPEAKER_01Well, you know, but the thing is is you you think about you think about the uh the previous games that we've had was a rest. I mean, this is really the first time we've had competition. I mean, you think about you think about the first the first playoff series, y'all played the Suns and we played the Portland Trailblazers. One game we lost was when Wimby knocked himself out. You know? So T Wolves played some played some close games. I think they're they played close games, but what I'm what I'm what I'm getting at though is we had all those rest days, and then we get to the game, we're kind of sluggers with all those rest days. Yeah, you know that can happen too. At least with this, I mean you're you're staying and you're playing, you're you know, you're going. I mean, even that first game with the Lakers after the Suns series, I went to that, I went to the Thunder Lakers game, you know. I went there and and the the Thunder, the Thunder didn't have the the best game in the in the first couple quarters. I mean, it was pretty close. It was, you know, it wasn't it wasn't a blowout win like it was for game three and four of the Thunder Lakers series, you know. Like it was pretty close until they started getting back in their groove. So I don't think the long rest is sometimes, especially for a young team. You don't want a young team resting.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but you might want a guy that's seven foot five to get a little rest that doesn't normally play 40 minutes a game.
SPEAKER_01Well, you know, I mean he had a he had a pretty bad game five, and he got out came out early in the game, and he looked pretty good in game six, and he came out early in game six. So I'm hoping coming out that's not playing that fourth quarter.
SPEAKER_00I know that's all I was hoping for with game six. I I didn't figure the Thunder would win. I was hoping that it would be close to the game. A close game, yeah. That he would have to place.
SPEAKER_01Well, really, it comes down to the bench, man. You know, each each game that the Thunders lost, the their bench hadn't played great. You know, in the games they win, their their bench dominates. Yeah, but their bench is scoring 15. It's crazy. Well, and and you gotta you gotta realize that the the bench for the the Spurs, Dylan Harper started two games. That that is our that is our guy off the bench. Like he is our guy. Like he's and what what's scary is Carter Bryant's only 19 years old and Dylan Harper's 20. Yeah, I know. You know, and and Stefan Castle's 21. And Wimby's 22. Like the their time's coming. Whether they win this year or not, their time's coming. They're gonna be a tough team for a long time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01A long time. You know, the whole team, the whole team coming back next year except Harrison Barnes. Harrison Barnes is the only one that's not coming back next year. But I mean, well, I say that. We just we just gotta re-sign him, but I think we get I think we give him a lot less money this year. I mean, he started the season as a starter, and then Barnes did? Yeah, and now he's like 40 by 10. No, I don't think he's even I don't think he's even 35 yet. But it seems like that because he's been around for a long time. But like I said, you know, I think we give him a lot less money this year, and I think he I think he comes back, especially if we win it all. Why would you not want to come back? You know what I mean? Unless you still think you're a starter. But I mean, Kawhi didn't want to come back, which they're saying that he does want to come back now. You know, which it's I mean, I wouldn't mind having him back, but I don't I don't want to spend any all that money, you know. Like, I'm fine with what we have. Like, we're we're three years ahead of schedule. And we were supposed to be a play-in team this year, a playoff team next year, and then a a make-a-run the following year, you know.
SPEAKER_00So we'll see. I mean if if they keep them together, they'll definitely be in the run for the next decade. But hopefully those guys start wanting that max contract and can't afford them all.
SPEAKER_01And that's and and you know, and that's the thing is we don't really have we got Julian Champigny, who has been a huge steal. We just signed him last year for a four-year, twelve million dollar deal. I mean, he's only making four million a year. That's crazy. That's three million a year. Oh, yeah, three, yeah, yeah. I think I think he got paid two million this year and then it goes to four of the next two. Oh, yeah. But yeah, but like like I said, I just I mean, we we've gotten great great deals and great contracts with the Spurs. I I'm curious to see what's gonna happen. I I do think, I do think that this is the start of a a huge franchise run. You know, I mean they're they're young, they're athletic. I mean, all thinking no injuries happen, you know, but injury can end something like that, you know. So it's just like I said, it's it's been fun, though. It's it's been a long week. I do think in this area, I think a majority of the people think the the Thunder's gonna win, and and you know, that's fine. I do know Trey Vick, who is another another pretty dedicated listener. He's he commented earlier, Spurs by 50. You know, so like so I hope Trey's right because it'd be great, because that means we get to take our guys out early and get a nice rest. And well, you're already looking past it into the final. Tonight, tonight, I mean, tonight's gotta happen, you know. I I do think tonight's gotta happen, but I do think that it's gonna be fun no matter what, you know, and I and I'm just glad that we're we're we're here, you know, because I didn't expect us to be here, right? You know, and I I told I told uh group that I thought it would be Thundern Six. And I and I did. I thought, I mean, I just didn't think the Spurs could could make it again. I mean, I just didn't think we'd be this far into it, you know. I I mean I knew we were good, but but they just keep proving me wrong, and I hope they prove me wrong tonight and pull it out. I I really do, you know. Yeah, I mean realistic me. It's gonna be close. Realistic me, I'm like, nah, not a chance.
SPEAKER_00But like fan me, I'm like, dude, we're gonna win this game. I mean, if every if the home team had won every game, I would probably give them less odds. But you know, like you said, they dominated most of game one. And it it's gonna, you know, I'm may go 55% Thunder is probably be if I was guessing. I mean, it's basically a coin flip.
SPEAKER_01Well, it's it's a minus it's minus three spread. You know, it's minus three spread. Which is nothing. Yeah, and and you know, we're plus one thirty. It's pretty plus one thirty, so that's pretty good. I mean, usually if you're if you're an underdog, it's gonna be a plus two hundred, you know. Yeah, it's it's a plus one thirty. So like for the non-betters out there, a plus one thirty means if you if you bet a hundred dollars, you win a hundred and thirty dollars. So you're getting two hundred and thirty dollars back. That's what a plus one thirty means. So, but so I I don't know. Like it's it's gonna be it's gonna be fun, you know. And then a minus one thirty, which what the thunder would be, it's you bet $130 to win a hundred. So if anybody's out there like, what does that even mean? Right. You know, so probably I know I know what I mean. I know what it means, because yeah, you know, so but like I said, it's it's gonna be a fun series. I'm I'm looking forward to it. I'm probably gonna be uh on Facebook before the game, you know, talking to us. It's fun to me. I and just know when I do it, just it I'm not being serious. I just enjoy getting a good laugh out of people, you know. I mean, it's fun. But yeah, so I'm looking forward to it. I I hope I do wake up and get ready for church tomorrow wearing Spurs stuff, but I know if if they don't win, I'm gonna go to church tomorrow wearing black for a funeral. You know, it's the death of our season. But hey, so good news is matter of fact, Dylan, Dylan Martin, he texted me and he said, no matter, no matter the outcome of game six, this before game six, no matter the outcome, if we win or lose, the Spurs still win the season series against the Thunder. So no matter what happens, the Spurs still beat the Thunder more times than the Thunder beat us. So I was like, hey, you know what? That's kind of a win. Yeah. You know, so so I will still be able to say that. Yeah, you can say that. I mean, I'll still be able to say that.
SPEAKER_00Of course, you know, you can always bounce back with, well, we won when it matters.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right. And and that's what they'll say. And you and you know, because it's funny because when we was four and one during the season against the against the thunder, that's all people would say was, well, you gotta win when it matters, you gotta win when it counts, you gotta do this. But right now, they're kind of doing that.
SPEAKER_00I mean, they're holding their own. Yeah. But it like uh I remember talking to you about that, but it's like, you know, it's not like they weren't trying for those five games. Right, right. Yeah, I mean, and that's the thing is especially after they beat you once, they beat you twice. It's like, okay, you know, we're we're gonna be zoned in on it this time to try to beat them and still.
SPEAKER_01You know, and I seen a deal that this this is the Spurs have only lost back-to-back games this year. They never lost three in a row. Only time that only other time that's ever happened was with the Golden State Warriors. Golden State Warriors, the the year they won it all when they was like what 73 and 9 or whatever it was, that they never lost back-to-back games. Or that three three games in a roll. So I was like, dude, that's a pretty cool stat. And you know, another one was they were talking about, well, they gotta win, they gotta win at home, and then two days later they gotta win on the road against the Thunder. Well, they've already done that once this year. They did it in December. Yeah. You know, they did it on December 22nd and then turned around in in San Antonio and then went Christmas Eve and did it again, or was it Christmas Day? It was the 23rd, I think it was Christmas Day. And then they they did it again on Christmas Day in Oklahoma City. So I'm like, there's I mean, that's we've done it before. Let's do it again. You know, let's do it again. One more time. One more time. So it'll be fun, though. I'm I'm excited about it. I'm looking forward to it. I mean, whatever happens, I'm fine with. I mean, we made it this far, you know. Uh so I'm on I'm on cloud nine no matter what. You're on house money. Dude, hey, I've been I've been sitting in the 20 win seasons for the last five years, dude. This this is great, you know. This is great. So when's the last time they made a made a decent row? 2017, baby. 2011. That was the last year we had Lamarcus Aldridge and all those guys that were oh yeah, yeah. We should have won it, but Kawhi basically snapped his ankle, you know, went on the on the three-point shot when he came down on oh yeah, I can't remember his name, the paragraph or whatever his name is. So who's your favorite Spurs player all time? Tim Duncan, out of doubt. No question, not even close. If my wife would allow it, I'd have a Duncan jersey tattooed on me. I love Tim Duncan. He's he's he's my goat. Tim Duncan's my goat. Only guy that never missed the playoffs. 18 years in the seat in the in the league and 18 years making the playoffs.
SPEAKER_00My favorite's probably James Anderson. Really? Yeah, I like James Anderson. Why? OSU guy? Yeah, that makes sense. I just never really keep up with the Spurs.
SPEAKER_01You know, Lynn Lindy Waters. Lindy Waters is an OSU guy. He's on the team now, you know, representing the Indians. Yeah, that's pretty cool, you know. I mean He said, why? Yeah, I just I mean that's just a weird, a weird uh who's your favorite player of all time?

SPEAKER_01Hakim Olajuan. Good choice. You know, we was talking about that earlier about the greatest seasons of all time, you know, and I never thought I never thought about Hakim Lajwan, you know, and then and then and you know, first player to ever NBA champion, NBA finals MVP, regular season MVP, defensive player of the year. I mean, people talk about MJ or LeBron or you know, Russ, he was up there with the greatest season ever with the triple-double MVP, all that good stuff. Jokic, same thing, but I mean, the Kimelaja one, and and on top of that, he almost averaged four blocks a game.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's another thing that people don't realize.
SPEAKER_00He's widely considered him or I mean, I know Wimby's gonna be up there now, the the best defensive player of all time. Him or Bill Russell.
SPEAKER_01And and and I think I think it when it's all said and done, I mean, Wimby has a chance to be the best player of all time. Yeah. I mean, because you know, Michael Jordan could do things that others couldn't. Sure. But he couldn't do things that others could. You know what I mean? Yeah. Like he couldn't go out and block shots like a chemical one. Yeah. You know, yeah, there's stuff that a 7-5 guy can do. Yeah, well, and that's what I'm saying. But there isn't anything really that Wimby can't do. As long as he can stay healthy. And that's that's the kicker. If he stays healthy. I mean, with a Kemelajwan, you know, you you got the blocks and the rebounds and the points, but he couldn't dribble, he couldn't do all, you know, all that stuff. The outside shot, the outside jumper, the mid-range jumper. He didn't have that stuff. And and you know, that's why I think that's why I think if Wimby stays healthy and continues to progress like he is, he will be the best player ever. Because I mean, he's he's getting he's learning the attitude game by Kevin Garnett. He's learning the low, the low postwork, footwork from a key mulajwan. Like he's do-I mean, he's getting these, he's reaching out to these guys, and these guys are teaching him certain things that other players would have too big of an ego to learn or do. You know, that's the thing I like that another thing I like about Wimby is is he's not afraid to go train four weeks or six weeks with the monks, you know, and on your mindset. And he'll he's not afraid to reach out to equemological one and go work with the chemical one for a month on footwork, you know, like or or Jalen Williams with or Jay Williams with, you know, how to handle a ball, you know, stuff just stuff like that that he does that others don't do. And plus he's got he's got Tim Duncan and David Robinson and Greg Popovich and Manu Ginobli and Tony Parker that are there at the gym every day talking to him and picking those guys' ears.
SPEAKER_00And so, but I I don't under I didn't really understand his mindset in game five when when he's sitting there pulling up. I mean, dude, I I get it. If a big man can hit threes, like I get it to shoot him.
SPEAKER_01But man, when you're 7'5, my my that's my thing, man. When you're out when you're sitting outside and Isaiah Hartenstein's been guarding him and he gets him outside that three-point line, dude, I don't know why he ain't throwing the jab step and then just driving, you know, because Hartenstein can't keep up with him. I mean, Hartenstein's proved that, you know, game six, how many times did Hartenstein foul him because he couldn't keep up with him? Right. Like, why are we not attacking the hole? Chet Chet is non existent, like he's backing up. Like, even that, even that play where Chet drove drove the lane and Wimby was right there, instead of going up and trying to draw that contact, he stops and fakes a fakes a shoot, fakes a ball fake and then kicks it out because he don't want to try to shoot it. Like, you are almost the same size as Wimby. Like Go go draw some contact.
SPEAKER_00I I mean not really though. I mean, what is he, seven foot even?
SPEAKER_01I think he's bigger. I think he's bigger than that, honestly. I really do.
SPEAKER_00But man, three or four inches you're talking about. That's like saying a 6'6 guy and a 6'2 guy are the same. Yeah. But I will say the good thing about someone like Wimby, if he does, if if he ever develops a great three-point shot, he he would never have to change his shot to worry about it being blocked.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.

SPEAKER_01And you know, and and that's another thing I like about Wimby. He's not afraid to get down low and get get his shot blocked. He's not afraid to get dunked on. Like, he don't let his ego get in his way.
SPEAKER_00It's always when people just let him have it so they don't get dunked on.
SPEAKER_01It's like yeah, like he's not afraid to jump in there and try to block it. He doesn't care if he gets dunked on. He really doesn't. He's in the NBA. Like most of those guys can touch a roof anyway. Like he's gonna go for it. You know, now maybe if he's getting dunked on more and he's getting blocked, that's when you gotta kind of start worrying about it. But right now, the dude's averaging almost four blocks a game. Like, no, ain't people dunking on him four times a game. Right. You know what I mean? So like keep going, doing your thing, big man, you know. Like, so no, but is there anything else you want to hit on or talk about?

SPEAKER_01It was kind of nice to just have a free flow and talk about whatever. And yeah, no. I mean, we talked about basketball, you know, and that's cool. Like, I mean, we're both into it. You know, it's you're a Thunder guy, I'm a Spurs guy. It's game seven of the NBA Western Conference Finals. Some people say it's the game seven of the NBA finals, you know. Yeah. I guess we'll just have to see. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I I think it's gonna be a close game. I think it's you know, I think one team will pull away late just because of free throws and trying to foul and taking dumb threes at the end to try to get back in it. You know, I I I think that I I don't think it's gonna be a one or two-point game final. I think it'll be a seven or more final, honestly. So what what's your what's your final prediction on the score?
SPEAKER_00Final predictions 115 to 107 Spurs. I'm gonna say 114 111 Thunder.
