SPEAKER_02

Welcome back to this week's episode of Still Figuring It Out. I'm Josh. I'm with my co-host Brett. Well, the Thunderspurs series has come to an end. It's come and gone. You know, we're in the finals now, and I would like to say I told you so on the on Game 7.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I guess you were right. Of course, your team's down 2-0, so it doesn't make me feel as bad. And you're you guys getting a lot of scrutiny. So I guess it's a consolation prize.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's been it's been pretty rough this finals, man. But you know, like I was thinking about it uh yesterday, and I was talking to somebody about it yesterday as well. But like playing game seven games, you know, against two really good teams back and forth, like those games were, like, they get tired. And you know, with the Spurs being as young as they are and never being there, like nobody's on that on that team has ever played this much basketball, you know, which Harrison Barnes has, but I mean, not like to an extent like that.

SPEAKER_00

And I mean the the T Wolves weren't just uh a cupcake. No, I mean that that went six games.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you know, I mean and we lost the first game.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You know, so like it's it's it's uh unfamiliar territory for those guys, but you know, I wouldn't I wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs went in there, Tomatic Square Garden and won two in a row and made it tied up 2-2, but also wouldn't be surprised if they go in there and lose two straight and go 0-4. Yeah. You know, I mean, it's it's tough. Like it's it's hard, you know. I'm a I'm a fan. But you know, so speaking of the finals, you know, after after the Western Conference finals, I uh I'm sure you've seen that I made made a a Facebook post about, you know, helping a fan go to a finals game. I uh, you know, I got to go to game one. So that was really cool. I mean, that Facebook post it started out as just a a joke. You know, I just I was just kind of being honored and I don't want to say rubbing in the the Thunder fans face, but you know, I was just joking around like I usually do. And I went to sleep that night, I woke up the next morning and I had tons of Cash App notifications. I was like, what is going on? And I completely blank on the me making that post. You know, I completely wasn't even thinking about it because I just woke up and I get on there and I have $480. And I'm like, what is going on? And I click on who it's from, and I mean there was just I could just grab my finger and just scroll up on my phone. I mean, it would just keep going and keep going. Just tons of people send me one dollar and two dollars, and you know, there were a few that sent like $20, and I had a I had two people send me $50 a piece. And so yeah, I mean, people people really really got invested in it and helped me out. Did they send you messages or leave you a note, dude? Yeah. So every every message almost said something along the lines of thunder up, you know, or or taking the jab at the spurs, you know. But I mean, and that but again, that's what we talked about last week was that's what makes you know being a fan so great. And it gives you that friendly rivalry, you know, that's that banner back and forth, you know. I mean, and then of course I've got a few of those friends that are all of a sudden die hard Knicks fans just because the the Thunder lost to the Spurs, you know. But you see, but my my logic behind that is whoever beats my team, I disagree.

SPEAKER_00

I know where you're going. You're gonna you're gonna say that the Thunder are third, but the Thunder only struggled against the Spurs. Yeah, well, they well they struggled against the Spurs. I mean, they might have struggled against the Knicks if if they made the finals, we'll never know. Knicks were arrested, but man, I I I don't I don't see them struggling really with any other team other than the Spurs.

SPEAKER_02

Well, and and I I agree with that just because they have Hartenstein and he's he's a big, he's a true big, you know. So with Robinson and and Kat, he can, you know, he can bang with those guys a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

And Chet Chet would play good against any uh any other big man.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe I but I don't know about Kat. Cat's just Kat's just as big, but he's quick. His feet are so quick. Yeah, you know, and that's and that's what we're seeing with Wimby struggling.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, he can't get off that first step. Yeah, that's the thing. There's not many guys that Wimby Wimby's gonna be taller than every other guy, but he's not gonna be bigger than many, but but he's I think he's still bigger than Chet. Yeah, he he's he's taller than Chet, but I mean I mean, obviously taller, but I think he's bigger too.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe, man. Chet, man, he's skinny. I mean Chet's dominant though. Like he's he's playing well. But like I said, and you know, I think with having with Chet and Hartenstein, they have a better chance, you know, because Knicks have two bigs and they're they're rotating them in while Wimby's in there by himself, basically, because Cornette, I mean, I love the guy, but he's just not, you know, not capable. But it like I said, it was fun. You know, I got the I got to go down and I I pulled the trigger and you know, thanks to a lot of the people that listened to us and you know, follow me on Facebook and stuff like that. They they really helped me out. And I mean it was it was cool, you know. I mean, I got to, you know, mark something off the bucket list. I mean, yeah, going to the finals is is something that a lot of basketball fans would love to do, you know. And this was this was my only chance to do it because, you know, those tickets at Madison Square Garden right now for game four are just off the chart. I mean, like, like let's see, we you know, I'm looking at it right now, and one ticket for court sign for game four, two hundred and twenty-eight thousand eight hundred dollars. One ticket. One ticket, you know, one ticket. And then the the cheapest, the cheapest ticket at Madison Square Garden right now is let's go look at my price. The cheapest ticket at Madison Square Garden right now is $13,440 for one ticket. You know, and it's crazy because I was sitting by Nick's fan on game one, and him and I, we got to cutting it up, you know, and he was talking, he was like, man, it was it was cheaper for me to fly out Wednesday on the day of the game, fly Wednesday, go to game one, stay the night Wednesday night, stay the night Thursday night, go to game two on Friday, and stay the night Friday night, fly back Saturday, all cheaper than what it was gonna cost him to go one game at Madison Square Garden.

SPEAKER_00

That's crazy. That's wild. I've I've heard I've heard people say stuff like that, like like Ranger games. Yeah. Uh sit by someone that's like a Red Sox fan. Like, man, I could come here and go the whole series cheaper than a mile from the from Fenway.

SPEAKER_02

And that's just crazy, man. People, I mean, well, one, I can't fathom having that kind of money where you can that's why you only see celebrities down there because you got to you gotta be rich to afford those games. That was so aggravating because like, you know, I'm I had pretty good seats, you know. I I did, I spent a couple a hundred of my own dollars and and kind of upgraded my seats a little bit where I could sit lower level, you know. I was still behind the goal, but I was in that lower ring. But I'm looking down courtside and stuff, and you know, there's five, six, seven-year-old kids not even paying attention, just on their phones or like their mom's phone, your dad's phones, your iPads, just watching something. But even realizing there's a an NBA finals game going on right in front of them, you know, and I'm just like, you gotta be kidding me. Like, those kids have no idea how good they have it. Like, you'd be better off, you know, bringing your your grandma or your grandpa to watch, or I guess your mom or dad, to watch, you know, your kids at the hotel and let them sit in the pool or something. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And you go to the game and you save, you know, I mean a thousand dollars. I mean, I I guess it's kind of trying to cross something off their bucket list, but in the end, you know, they might if if there's someone that's a kid that's really into basketball and watching it, they might have, you know, vague memories of it.

SPEAKER_02

But someone that was on their phone, they're not even gonna there was like a maybe nine, ten-year-old boy down there. He was a Knicks fan, you know, but he had the the big nickels with the big old 3D printed Knicks logo, and you know, he was wearing a jersey, I mean a Brunson jersey, and he was in the whole game. So like I understand him. Like that kid was standing up on the court, jumping up and down, hollering and screaming. But some of those kids, like I said, they were sitting down in their chair looking at the iPad, and we're just like, Man, you could come look in your iPad up here in my seat, and I could sit right there. You know, so did uh did did you eat at the stadium? Yeah, I you know, I did.

SPEAKER_00

What were prices like?

SPEAKER_02

Oh prices, prices there aren't aren't crazy at all.

SPEAKER_00

Even during finals.

SPEAKER_02

I got a I got a big, you know, a big thing of like fajita nachos with you know steak and chicken and and I it was eight bucks. Like it wasn't expensive at all. It wasn't expensive at all. And then I have a a cup, a finals, you know, NBA finals cup that says go spurs go on it. And it's you know, it's like one of those little 32-ounce cups that you get, the plastic cups. Free refills.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I bought it for I bought it eight bucks. So I spent $16 on food and I got I was able to get free refills with my drink, you know. Yeah, that's right. But I mean it was cool. Like I said, you know, I got there early that day, so I drove, I left Tuesday night, and I drove overnight because I wanted to be there for first take at 8 a.m. at Alamo, so you know I could go watch Stephen A and and all those guys, you know, and and listen to them talk. And I stand back in the background, you know, waving to the camera and everything, you know. So that was cool. Um a few people text me and call me. We were like, Are you on TV? I'm like, I'm here, you know. So that was that was pretty cool because people did see me. And but um I did that, so I checked into the hotel. I went to the hotel a little bit before, and I was like, listen, I drove overnight. What's the chances of you know, me getting a room? I'm I have a room tonight, but like, what's the chance of me getting in early so I can you know shower and change before, you know, and they was like, I was like, well, let me look and see. And they was like, well, we actually have one on the 15th floor, because I think I was standing on the 17th floor of my room, but they're like, if you want to go ahead and go to the 15th floor, we can get you in. I was like, that's perfect. So I got to go up there and change and all that stuff. Sorry, I'm tired. You can't be yawning, man. I don't know what you'd be tired from. Well, I'll tell you that in a minute. But but you know, so like I said, I I did that and and I took a little nap during the day, but I went, I went to the stadium. I was like, you know what, I'm gonna beat the crowd, I'm gonna go ahead and go to the pro shop and get all my stuff so I ain't gotta walk around with bags and stuff like that. I go to the pro shop and I mean it's almost cleared out, you know. It's like the season's almost over with. You got a few games left. I mean, I guess the max games you have left at at home is four, so they're not, you know, ordering new jerseys, there's no kids, anything. Like anything, you know, 5T and down, count it out because you're not gonna find nothing. Right. Um, had a few Western Conference Finals stuff, but I mean, there was nothing out, like nothing. And so I'm kind of walking around looking, and I said, I said, you know, where's all the final stuff? Like, I'm I was wanting to get a finals jersey, an NBA NBA finals jersey. I'm like, oh, we don't put that out until after we close the pro shop. So it'll be out from we put it out from one to six, and then the fans can come in at six. I'm like, why would y'all put it out now so people can start getting stuff now and I have to worry about standing line? Well, they they you know, I my ideas are dumb and logic is out the window for these people. And and so I waited till six to go back and get stuff, and dude, the lines were terrible. Like, I mean, they were wrapped around places, they were, you know, you know the size that says the line starts here. Like that's I mean, you had to go all the way back, and I mean, I guarantee if you if you straighten out the line, it was probably 300 yards worth of lines. Like it was just it was ridiculous. And and usually it's not bad because I'll stand in line right at the get-go, and my wife will go around and shop what she wants or whatever, and then she'll get in line, then I'll go do my stuff and while we're moving up in line, but how about myself? So I'm like, well, crap. So I go and they they had zero fine NBA finals jerseys there. Zero. So but what they did, they had a ton of the finals patches, and you could buy, you know, if you had a jersey or you bought a jersey that year, you could you could get the patch put on it. It wouldn't, they wouldn't do from from the past. And but you had to show that you bought the patch. So I bought an authentic Wimby jersey and bought a patch, but the problem was I bought those, then I had to go somewhere else and stand in line and wait and turn it in for them to do it, and then I got I picked it up at halftime, you know. So like I said, it was just they I I I think they missed out on a lot of money from what do doing it like that because people I'm sure people got tired of waiting.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it's not very efficient.

SPEAKER_02

If if I lived closer or anything, I would not have stood in line. And and I that's what I did literally from 5 30 to 720-ish. I stood in line. Like it was ridiculous, you know. It's crazy. I mean, I collected little pins, you know. So when I went to the Western Western Conference Finals game, I got a Western Conference Finals pin. Well, this last game, I got a Western Conference Champions pin, and then I got an NBA finals pin. And so, like I said, I'm but waiting in those lines were just it it killed the experience a lot. But but man, going to the game was just awesome. Like it was it was cool, man. Like it was, I bet. It was it was awesome. Especially, you know, being a true fan of the game. Like, I love basketball, I love baseball, you know, but like being able to actually go watch your team play in the finals when we weren't supposed to be there anyway, you know, we were supposed to be three years out, but it was uh it was good. I mean, like I said, I had a lot of fun, and then you know what sucked is losing. That was the worst part, right? You know, I mean we were up 14 and we got beat in game one, and and you know, I was expecting to have a good ride home, and you know, but it sucks because I went to the Western Conference Finals, we lost. Right. I went to the NBA finals, we lost. So I'm I'm I'm not going back. I'm just gonna I'm just gonna go regular season games, I guess. I don't know. But you know, so this year I was I was three and three and two in in basketball games for that. I went to the Spurs games, and so I I finished the record with the winning record. But it sucked because the two games I wanted us to really win, we lost. Right. You know, the Western Covers finals and the NBA finals. But then I drove home, you know, overnight. But I mean that I mean that was fine. But being able to go and say I was there was yeah, that's cool. It was cool. That's wild. It was cool, and uh, and I couldn't have done that without the people that shared the the Facebook post. It was again a joke. They shared it like 70 times, you know, like had tons of likes and like it got so bad that Cash App turned my Cash App off.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I thought you was like scamming.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like like I because I was getting so many one and two dollar transactions. Like literally, they said that they turned it off at 175. So I mean, 175 transactions in the day, I guess it does look fishy. They're like, well, you have an unlimited amount of like a dollar amount, but you have a limited amount of transactions. I'm like, I'd rather you give me an a limited amount of dollars than an a limited amount of transactions, you know? Yeah, but so I ended up adding Infinity and her Cash App and her Venmo. And I mean, I just pulled it out of my account if she put it in or whatever, but but yeah, it was good, you know. I mean, I was it was a really cool experience. I was I was really blessed that I got to do it. Yeah, that sounds like a fun time, man. It really was. It was it was a good time. I mean, like I said, I would have enjoyed winning, but you know, and then last night's game, golly, man. Up 14 game one, they come back and beat us, then and then we're up, they're up 14, and then we come back and throw it away at the end. You're just like, uh. But again, that's that experience, man. That just, you know, I don't know, man. It's just it's aggravating. But people are like, well, that's over. And I'm like, shoot, we still got we still got five games left. Like there's a lot of there's a lot of basketball left, you know. I still think we could do it. I mean, call me crazy, but I mean, we were supposed to be a we're supposed to be a play-in team this year, and here we are playing in the finals. I'll take it, you know. Right.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I bet most of the people that were able to send you money to go aren't too upset with the outcome.

SPEAKER_02

I'm sure they really enjoyed watching me go to the game and losing. Like that was I gotta say, I don't mind it. That was that was worth a dollar to them, you know? That's worth a dollar. But you know, and and it's funny because like I even made a few bucks on Facebook, you know, from my post getting so and now uh, you know, so now I'm making I make a couple dollars here and there off of Facebook because of post, and and now basically I'm just rage baiting Thunder fans because it's it's so easy, you know. Uh here we go. I just rage bait them. I just I'll share something that one of the Thunder fans will say and they get mad. I'm just like, hey man, it is what it is. You know, I mean, I mean I didn't say it. I mean they said I just shared it. Like you didn't have to comment, you know. That's true. So but each each comment and like, you know, gives me a couple pennies here and there, so it's funny. I mean, I'm just rage baiting at this point, you know. But but no, it's it's it's good. I mean, like I said, that's what makes that's what makes it so fun is is you get those fans that do enjoy it. And right now, I won't ever get my feelings hurt because again, I'd I have no say so on what happens or the outcome of the game. So like, you know, like somebody will be like, oh, y'all lost. I'm like, yeah, we we lost, that sucks, but I'm not gonna get mad about it, you know? Yeah. Um so but yeah, and then you know, this week's sandbass week. Have you have you gone to the sandbass yet?

SPEAKER_00

No, I haven't. I'll be going tonight, I guess. We'll see how that goes.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's that's us. We went we went the first night. I went to eat, you know, because I'm I like food. So I went, we went and ate, and we rode a couple rides, nothing much. And then what you're gonna have to quit yawning now. Man, I'm telling you, I'm tired, man. It's hard. We went Wednesday, I thought we went Tuesday night because I left to the game after we went. It was just me and the kids. I threw the kids on myself because Infinity was working in Durant.

SPEAKER_00

So we were all talking by yourself.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was it wasn't hard. I mean, they for the most part, they listen. I mean, I'm like, hey, stay close by, you know, and I'm walking from ride to ride, but a few of their friends were riding, so we just kind of bounced around and rode rides. I told them we could ride, we rode five rides. I got an 06 rides. I got 18 tickets for each each kid. So I was like, you know what? That's six rides, three tickets a ride for those little rides. I was like, we'll ride them, and once we ride them, we're done. And I was like, we'll get something to eat, we'll leave. So that's what we yeah. We uh it was really easy. I mean, my wife got home a little bit after that, and then I that's when I jumped in the truck and I left overnight to go to the game. But tonight I told him I was like, all right, if we don't go tomorrow, like talking about Friday, I was like, if we don't go tonight, because Infinity was out of town, she went to a baseball game last night. She went with a couple of friends and she went to a Rangers game and she stayed at her friend's house and she came back today. That's that's why I'm so tired. I see. I mean, I stayed up. I mean, we you know, we played, we bought some pizza, we went and bought some toys from Walmart, you know, and then this morning we got up at 6.30 this morning because Jersey was wide awake and got through off the wall, so I got up and so yeah, that's why that's why I'm tired. I hadn't had a nap yet. You know, Jersey's in there asleep right now. The girls in Infinity ran into Ardmore, so I'm sure I guarantee it, Indian Ivy's asleep right now in the car on the way over there, you know. But but uh so we're gonna go tonight and I told them they can ride as many rides as they possibly can, you know, because we'll get banned, wristbands tonight, let them just do whatever. I'm just gonna be there. I'm not I told them we're not gonna play any games because those games got me Tuesday night. They kept wanting little toys, and here I am $20 here, $20 there, $20 there, trying to win a little toy that I could have bought from Walmart for $2. I know it. But no, it's um it was good though, you know. And then like I said, we just kind of hung out at the house and played last night, so I'm I'm tired. I mean, I I played with him as soon as the game was over because I I wanted to get my mind off the game because I was I was like, dang, man, we're down to 0-2, can't get swept, you know. I just said it doesn't bother you. Oh well, I mean, it don't bother me. Like I don't get mad, you know what I mean? It still it still bothers me. It still bothers me when we lose, but like I don't get mad. Like, I'm not gonna sit there and fight somebody or argue with somebody about getting all defensive about those guys. I know what you're saying. I mean, I'm not gonna do that, but but I mean I'm still like, oh man, we still won. And then and then, you know, of course, shortly after I'm like, Spurs and six, you know. So, but no, it's uh it's good though, man. I mean, it's been fun. Well, that's good.

SPEAKER_00

What do you think about it? That cornhole tournament we played in today.

SPEAKER_02

Well, wasn't a great start. You know, we uh we got a forfeit that first game and then that's a good start.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but I mean burn no energy.

SPEAKER_02

We was also up 20 to 5 in the second game and got beat. Yeah, that hurt. That hurt a lot, you know. And honestly, I pretty sure we got beat by a couple kids.

SPEAKER_00

Even if they weren't kids, they were kids.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, they were. Yeah, I mean, they if you're if you're under 23, 24, you're a kid. That's how I look at it. But but yeah, we we were up 20 to 5. My kids run around everywhere, they they really stressed me out, honestly. And you know, I don't know. It's been a while. My my shoulder was tired. Like, I gotta throw bags more, you know, because like I shouldn't have been that tired. Like, I felt like I was trying to put a lot on it just to get it there, you know. And yeah, I was and I just have to warm-ups. I'm drenched in sweat. Yeah, yeah, I mean, and the thing is, it was inside. Imagine if it was outside. I'd have been soaked. Oh, I know it. I'd have been soaked, especially with the rain.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the humidity. But we won a couple games. Yeah, we won.

SPEAKER_02

We won. I guess technically it was three and two.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, you know, but it's all right. We should have won the last game. I mean, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Missed opportunities. Yeah. I started playing. I was I was playing pretty aggressive. I probably shouldn't have been, but no, it's alright. I mean, it's for fun. I mean kind of like the NBA, you get a little lead and they start shooting threes to dagger them, and that's kind of where I went and ended up biting us.

SPEAKER_02

It's uh like I said, it was fun though. Yes, those guys play all the time. Yeah, all the time. Like a kid we was playing that last game. I was like, you play a lot, and he goes, twice at least twice a day. Like, come on. Yeah, like you're playing twice a day.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I was looking at the the guy I threw against, he he had moved to like Mississippi or Kentucky, and he was pretty good then. And I was looking at his numbers, and like he's his numbers are high enough to be a pro. Really? He didn't play that well. Of course, you know, on those boards and all that, it could be tough, and yeah, the distance was probably off. But yeah, he's good enough to he's borderline pro. That's I mean, so we did pretty good for that.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I'm glad you was up against him and not me, because I was struggling. Like I said, I you know, I left my glasses to it, and and you know, it's not an excuse. I mean, I could still see the hole. I mean, I had no doubt I could see the board and stuff, but just it being a little fuzzy, I just don't I just didn't like it. I was it was uncomfortable, but it is what it is, you know. I mean, got any plans for this week? I mean, what do you got going on?

SPEAKER_00

We might be staying down in Medill, actually. Yeah, parents are gonna be going to Alaska this week, so we're thinking about they want a cruise or I I'm not actually sure. I've got a a great uncle, so my mom's uncle lives out there. I think they're gonna stay with him. Oh yeah. So dude, Alaska's awesome, man. Have you ever been to Alaska? Yeah, I was eight.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's been a long time.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, we went on an Alaskan cruise the last two years, and dude, it's it's amazing, man. Like it is, like it is like a different world, you know. Like it'll be four in the morning and it's daylight. Right. I mean, but the stuff you see is just unreal, man. You know, we were we were there last June. Actually, matter of fact, well, the seventh, what is the day? The sixth, the fifth?

SPEAKER_00

I think it's the sixth.

SPEAKER_02

I think, yeah. Well, we was I we were there. Yeah. Yeah, we we were there uh the seventh. That was our first day last year. It's like the seventh or the fifteenth or something like that. But yeah, it was it was amazing, man. We we really enjoy it. I I want to take the kids when they're a little older. Steven, Stephen wants to go, but he he just loves the outdoors and you know the wilderness and all that stuff. And me, I'm not much into that, but just being able to go in Alaska, it's got the perfect balance of relaxation and being able to go see stuff. You know, like you get a couple, you get a couple days at sea where you don't get off the boat, you can relax and hang out, like like that European cruise we went on, we went we went on last year or this October, this past October, dude, that was brutal. I mean, it was a blast. Don't get me wrong, we had a blast. I mean, we got to go to we went to Ireland, and then we went we flew into Spain, we went from Spain to Italy to France, and then them back, and we went to London on the way back on our flight back. But every day, there was no days at sea, like it was every single day we got off the boat, and dude, I was war smooth out, man. Like, you know, I have I have arthritis really bad in my knees, man. They was acting up, and I could barely walk. But I was I was also, you know, 370 pounds, too. Which is now I'm 280, so it's I mean, big difference. Yeah. But like I said, it was it was really, it was really nice, but dude, it was just go, go, go. And I'm like, I will never, I will never book an a seven-day, eight night or eight-day cruise and have seven spots we get off the boat. Like, never again. Like I said, it was brutal, man. Like, it was constantly go, go, go. But I, you know, we got to see a lot of cool things. We got to go to the Coliseum, Tien Links, Leaning Tower piece of like, I mean, so we got to see those cool things, you know. But but Spain is now is my top moving destination.

SPEAKER_00

Like, that is what I've heard a lot of people say that.

SPEAKER_02

Dude, I absolutely loved it, man. Like, Mallorca, man, it was just, it was just beautiful, dude. Like old rock, you know, homes, like just it was it was amazing. Like, like I said, that that is the place that I would want to move. Like, I want to move there, you know. Like, if I was to move out of the country, I I love the Spanish culture, you know. I just I loved everything about it. Like I would live there in a heartbeat, you know. So that's cool. Yeah, it was it was uh really nice. And but like I said, just the the constant getting off the boat every day was miserable, you know. Like I said, with the Alaskan cruise, you would you got on the boat, then you was on the boat for a day, and then the following day you get off, and then you get off the next day, but then the next day you was at sea for a day, and then you know, so it kind of broke it up. So it was like kind of give you some time to give you that relaxation time, but but that that European cruise, bro, it was brutal, man. I bet you know, we're going on that 11-day cruise in October in Asia. We're going to Japan, Vietnam, or Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Singapore.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, wow.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Five, we're going to five countries. And I could pretty easily guess what your favorite one would be of those. Yeah, yeah. No.

SPEAKER_00

I mean I've heard China was.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I'm I'm look I'm looking forward, I'm looking forward to Japan mostly. That's what I would probably guess. Just because, you know, the tradition and the culture and the food. I mean, I love sushi. Yeah. You know, so I'm looking forward to that. And plus, you know, I get to go to Disneyland, Tokyo, so I'm really excited about that because I am a Disney guy. And we're probably gonna go to Disneyland, Hong Kong while we're there in China. But but like, you know, that that cruise is the same exact way. You're gonna go and then you're gonna get be on the boat for a day, and then you'll go somewhere, then you'll be on the boat for two days, so it's it's really spread out and you've relaxed. But this time, it isn't just me and Infinity, it's gonna be the kids too. Oh. Yeah. So it's gonna be it's gonna be like herding cats. Right. It's gonna be fun though. Like, I'm I'm really looking forward to it because I really enjoy taking my kids to get memories and not just you know, personal or just presents all the time. Like we wanna we wanna give them experiences because like those are something you'll remember forever. Sure. And you know, like people are like, but why do you take your kids to Disney at that age? Like, they ain't gonna remember it's not for them, man. It's for me. Like, well, that's true, you know, just have fun too. And they do have fun, you know, and and that's what I try to tell people all the time, you know, because I I do own a travel agency, a travel company, and and they're always like, Well, why would you take your kids to Disney? It's so expensive. But I'm like, dude, when you see your three-year-old kid's face when they see Mickey Mouse, like they truly believe that's the real Mickey Mouse. Right. You know, they don't they don't understand it's a it's somebody in a suit.

SPEAKER_00

And something like that, man, you know, how how long are you would did you say you'd be gone 11 days?

SPEAKER_02

11.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that well, actually, the cruise is 11 days. We're gonna be gone like 16 days total. I mean, I feel like after like day three, it it's not gonna be as fun if your kids aren't there, you're gonna be missing them. No, they're gonna be missing you, you know. I mean, why not?

SPEAKER_02

You know, and it's funny you say that because me and Infinity, we're always like excited to go places, and and luckily we have a great support staff, man. Like Gaga, which is Infinity's mom, Tamil, you know, my mom, Infinity's sister, Jazz, dude, they are they are great. Like, we'll go places because Infinity and I truly believe that you've gotta you've got to go do stuff with each other. You know, you've I mean you've you've gotta be able to you know rekindle or grow closer to one another, you know. Like we try to do, we say we want to do the 777 rule, you know, every seven days have a date night, every seven weeks you have a a weekend trip together, and then every seven months you go on a vacation together. You know, so we we try we try to do that because you need it. I mean, you know, you you do need it, and luckily the Lord's blessed us enough that we're able to do these things, you know, and and again, he's giving us family that that helps us. Like Jazz, dude, she's a freaking rock star, man. You know, like I'll say, hey, I need I need help. You know, Tam was gonna watch the kids this weekend, but we're trying to leave Thursday night. Is there any way they, you know, like you can take them to daycare or something, or whatever, maybe on Friday? And she's like, oh yeah, sure. And you know, we always I always try to encourage her to go do something with her husband. I'm like, hey, go go do something, you know, like let us have let us have the kids. Like, we'll take the kids. Like, if you want to go somewhere for a week, go, we'll take the kids, you know. If you want to go, which her kids are, you know, like 10 and 15 or 11 and 15, they're old, a little older. But I mean, for how much they do it for us, like, yeah, dude, go enjoy it, you know. So which she never she never holds us to it, but we I mean we we try to offer it because like I said, I I think everybody should be able to spend time because I mean our kids are someday gonna be out of the house, you know. And if we focus on our kids so much all the time, I mean it's it's very easy. You're not gonna know what to do when they're right. I mean, your lives revolving around. You can grow you can grow apart from one another because you're focusing on your kids, and that's and you know, and and I mean the Bible even it says it's plain as day is you know, I married, I married my wife. I didn't marry my kids. Like your kids are gonna leave the house one day, you know. So my wife stuck with me. I mean, sure. If she gets mad. I mean, if she gets mad, she can go take a nap, because I'm I'm here, you know, like we're in it together, baby. You know what I mean? So, but uh, but no, like I said, so we we try to do those things, and again, we have we have Tamla, you know, like two years ago we we all went to Disney and Infinity and I we took we took Tamla with us and and you know just because Tamla's dude, she calls them her grandloves, and I mean that woman loves her grandbabies. All of them. She's got a ton. I couldn't tell you how many she's got. Let's see, she's probably got probably got every bit of double. I mean, I know she's got double digits. I mean, crap, I got five of them, you know, so I know she's got double digits. She's got, let's see, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, I think, maybe, thirteen, maybe four. That's how many my grandma has. Yeah. So, but I mean, her kids her her kids are still in their 30s. You know, they got chances to have more, you know. So, and then, you know, which Steven, I mean, Tamil's gonna be a a great grandma by the time she's 50, probably, you know, because she's still in her 40s, late 40s. Yeah. So I mean, she might be in her 50s. I think she's in her 50s, actually. Yeah, I think she is. But but yeah, like I said, but she's younger though. But like I said, we took her to Disney two years ago, and and it was nice because when the kids started getting tired, she would just hang out at the resort with them and take them to the little pool and and hang out with them and watch them, and you know, and then Infinity and I could actually go do our thing at Disney and you could have your own blow down. Well, and Steven and Riley, I mean, they just go do their own thing anyway. You know, because I I trust, I trust Steven with Riley, you know. So, I mean, he's he's not gonna let nothing happen. I mean Steven's a nice kid and all, but I if something ever goes down, I trust him in a fight. I mean, the kid grew up fighting, you know, so I'm not I'm not worried about him not being on a fight or anything. So, you know, but there's that, and then the year before that, or the year, yeah, the year before that, we took my mom to Mexico with us, you know. So, so we we enjoy taking, you know, one of them on a trip with us because it's it's nice because I want I want them to be able to experience things too. Right, you know, but it's nice having that extra pair of hands to watch it. And they and I mean and that that they enjoy, they truly enjoy watching the kids. Like they truly enjoy being with the kids. And it's dude, it's it's nice. Yeah, you know, and that's that's the only thing that's that's scary about you know, they ever talk about moving somewhere, you know. Are they gonna come with us? You know what I mean? Like, are they coming with us? Because that's gonna be kind of hard. Because like I said, I I'm a go go go type guy, man. I I enjoy I enjoy seeing the world, you know. Um I mean, cram, I went to 11 countries last year. Jeez. You know, like so like I I just enjoy traveling, man. It's it's a it's a huge passion of mine. I just if I could if I could just make it famous on social media where I could just travel, that's what I do. But problem is I gotta take pictures and post stuff, and that's I'm something I suck at. If I if I'm out rage baiting and I'm I'm terrible posting. Maybe you need to beg for more money, man. Yeah, I'm I mean, maybe get a travel phone going. People would probably get mad at me and block me though. But uh, but no, like I said, if I could ever figure out how those people, you know, those influence get paid so much money traveling, I'd be it. But again, I gotta that means I'd have to take pictures and everything else. I I suck at pictures. Dude, I suck at pictures, man.

SPEAKER_00

I can take some. I don't I definitely don't like being in them. I don't mind taking a picture of my family.

SPEAKER_02

No, I I ain't got no choice. If my wife's there, I've got to be in the picture. I ain't got no choice. I don't want to be in the picture, but guess what? Yeah, I'm in the picture.

SPEAKER_00

I'll end up being in them.

SPEAKER_02

I'm in the picture. I ain't got like I said, I don't have much to say so. And and like, and that's the thing, is she's she loves taking pictures. Like, truly loves taking pictures. Right. And and she's one of those girls that will, you know, she sees somebody trying to take a picture of themselves. Can I take that picture for you? Would you like for me to take a picture for you? Like, she stays asking people, can I take their picture? You know, and I'm just like, oh my gosh. But no, uh, she really does help me out a lot because, you know, I I gotta post pictures, you know, for travel stuff sometimes. And and again, I'm terrible at social media. I actually have a lady that does my social media for my travel stuff. She makes all my posts for me and does everything, but usually the pictures are from Infinity. I mean, because she does take so many pictures. And she knows she knows my good side, you know. Sometimes I'm like, hey, I don't look bad in that picture, and that don't really look like me because I look a lot smaller in that picture than I am in person.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe she just takes a bunch of them and finds one where you're standing sideways or something.

SPEAKER_02

No, yeah. Oh, don't want to be sideways. No, but uh, but yeah, it's it's it's good.

SPEAKER_00

So what you what you looking up over there?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I just got uh I I got a text message from Infinity, and I was trying to see what she was saying, because she knows what we're doing. But you might be in trouble, man. Yeah, I thought I would. That's why I was like, what do I do now? But we're good. I'm alright. She was just showing me a picture of the sky in Ardmore. It's pretty pretty dark. She went over there to go see her mom so the girls could see her mom. And I got a I got one of those TVs a few weeks ago with a VHS, you know, the VCR on the TV. Somebody was giving them away, and I was I got it. I was like, dude, how cool is that? Like, you know, my kid gets to watch some cassettes. They gotta rewind them, you know. But but they they got one. So Tamma found uh uh another movie for them, so they're going over there to pick it up while we do this. And like I said, I got Jersey in the room. You got a thousand movies on those, don't you?

SPEAKER_00

You got a bunch of people.

SPEAKER_02

Well, dude, I don't know where they are. Oh, we lost them. I have no idea where they are. Like we we had a ton of them. Um my mom and I, like, you know, from when I was a kid, my mom was like, I have no idea what they are. Like, I don't know what I did with them. And so we're looking. But we're we're vote, you know, we've slowly kind of got a couple here and there. The people give them to us. Got the the Flintstone the movie the other day a couple weeks ago. A guy came up to me and gave me a VHS. I was like, what's this? And I was like, oh yeah, I forgot about this. So he gave me a couple movies. But like I said, we we we got we got that. And it's it's been fun. I mean, it kind of takes you back down memory line.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the nostalgia.

SPEAKER_02

You know, I get the guy Space Jam the movie. You know, that's those fun, those fun ones that that uh Shiloh one and two. I think we only have Shiloh 2 right now, though.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, one of them one of our friends there for a little while we had a one of Danetta's friends was living with us and she had like an old Xbox or PlayStation, I don't remember. Yeah. Had some of those old games. It was kind of fun to well, you know.

SPEAKER_02

I I've got one of those little Nintendo, the old Nintendo, like not the note, no, no, I don't have I have that little box that comes with the with the controller that's attached to it. You plug it to the TV. Oh, it's got like 8,000 games on it. I have one of those. Oh, that's cool. So Jersey has recently became a huge fan of Mario. Like the original original? Yeah, like Mario and Luigi. Like he he loves the Mario movies, like he watches it probably once a day. You know, he loves Bowser, he loves Yoshi. So like we I'm gonna pull that out so he can kind of play it because he has no idea. And I thought about for his birthday coming up, getting him like Mario Kart, you know, just so he could, because he he doesn't play games, you know, like he watches videos on phones and he plays with Snapchat filters on his mom's phone, but like but games he don't know anything about yet. So I kind of want to introduce him to those games. I don't want to do it too much because I mean get him hooked on it. Yeah, I don't want to be hooked on it because he he loves going outside. I mean, he'll go outside and play for hours, you know. So it's it's good. But like I said, man, we we enjoy travel. I mean, I don't I I don't know how we're going with this podcast. We just kind of talking. Yeah, like it's just rolling, man.

SPEAKER_00

We're both tired from that tournament, man. I thought I was tired and I walked in here and saw you. I was like, man, you look like you just sleeping.

SPEAKER_02

I had I had those kids by myself last night, man. I don't know how women do it.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know how women do it. That was enough for me. And like, man, you had three of them.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was like I said, I don't I don't know, man. It was I don't know how women do it. I just God gave them the special sauce, I guess. I don't know, because I can't I I'll be tired. Like I'm I need a nap. I need this forget a nap, I need to sleep. Like I just need to have to take a whole sleep, you know, but but like I said, I mean it was it was a good little week. I mean, I got to go to San Antonio on back, you know, just got back from Vegas last week. Um, that was fun. Got to spend time with my kids. You know, I think next year though, I I think I'm gonna try to find us a something to do. A little week of Sand Bass, because that's smart. As much as my my kids love it, and you know, there's nothing wrong with Sandbass. I mean, I mean, my son's working, he's been there all week long working, you know. I just man, it just cost me so much money. You know, like each kid wants something different. You know, one of the kids will want a hot dog.

SPEAKER_00

You're talking about traveling the world and you're worried about spending a couple hundred bucks at Sand Bass.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but I but I can but but I feel more justified on traveling because well, I can find a deal. There ain't no deals at the Sandbass. Right. Ain't no I ain't found a deal yet.

SPEAKER_00

I mean anytime I feel like if you're local somewhere and there's People coming from other towns to an event or something. Usually the locals don't like that event as much.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Imagine, imagine living somewhere like Orlando where there's always new people coming in.

SPEAKER_00

Just to go on vacation. Or I mean I lived at I've lived at Padre for a while, and man, they hated like a lot of people. Dude, I forgot about that. Yeah. I forgot. They did, man. They hated holidays out there. You see all these people and they just did you act like you were one of those people just hated, hated like, oh man, I've been here for 20 years.

SPEAKER_01

You're a local nomad. Oh, I can't stand all these tourists, man.

SPEAKER_02

Can't stand them. No, but yeah, I I mean I would love to move off, man, and just sell the house, you know. Sell the house.

SPEAKER_00

Until like you said, till you you don't got any uh any support system anymore. Yeah. Well, I just gotta make sure one of them comes with me.

SPEAKER_02

You know, I just I gotta make sure one of them comes. So uh buy them a house too. Well, they'd probably live with us, honestly. And you know, I don't like so I don't mind if if a grandparent lived with me, honestly. I really don't like that doesn't bother me at all.

SPEAKER_00

You know, like I could probably do better with honestly some of her family than I could having my own family and move in with me, man. That'd drive me wild. Yeah, no, I uh oh speaking, speaking of your family.

SPEAKER_02

So you know, your sister-in-law, she uh I seen her at Brahms the other day. Oh, Leslie? Yeah, and she was like, she was like, Are you the Josh Sisko? The she's like, you know, the guy that does the podcast, and I was like, Yep, that's me, you know. Probably pulled out your pin and a lot of people. And we're we're literally messing around. And we talk for a second, we go off, and I look at Steven and I said, I told you, I'm famous. Like, and and and the funny thing was is like surely to God, he could tell we were joking around. He was like, Pappy, I think she was, I think she was just playing. I was like, She was playing?

SPEAKER_01

Like, like, I'm like, Steven, come on, like, obviously, dude. Like, we literally get like a hundred people listening to our podcast. Like, of course she's playing. Like, what are you talking about? He was like, But I mean, he was so serious, he's like, Pappy, I think she was just playing.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, I mean, like he got jealous that they didn't recognize Steven Sisko sitting there, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe he's like, he, you know, he's trying to keep you down, like, okay, calm down, dude.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, dude, she's clearly, you know, being sarcastic, Steven.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, he just went right over the top of his head. I'm just like, oh my gosh, dude. So no, that gets a blonde, you know, because he does.

SPEAKER_00

Like most kids, and I say kid, like you said earlier, you know, anyone under 24, 25, but most kids are like that, man. Tell them a joke or something, or it'd just go right over their head.

SPEAKER_02

Like, he is so literal about stuff sometimes. I'm like, Steven, it's a like obviously we're joking, you know, like like where's the common sense, son? Right, you know, just the stuff he says sometimes. I'm just like, oh gosh. And but yeah, I don't know. He's just he's just um a different cat. But I mean, he means well. He's he's a he's a good kid, you know. I always tell him all the time, like, dude, if you mess up what you have with with your girlfriend, like I'm I'm getting rid of you. Like, we like her more than we like him. And then he takes it literal, huh? Yeah, yeah. He's like, Wow. I'm like, oh my gosh, Steven, dude, just just go color a book or something. I don't I don't know. Go go do something, just get away from it. Or like he'll call me, like just randomly call me. Like, what are you doing? Nothing. Oh. What are you doing? I'm just sitting here. I'm like, why you calling me? Like, yeah, like like let's get the conversation going. Like, I'm not I'm when I had a boss like that, man.

SPEAKER_00

It was like we would text all the time, and then it would just be like Hey, can you call me? And I'm thinking, oh, it's an emergency, and then he would ask for something that's like, and you could you couldn't send a five-word text, like where it's the paper glyphs. Yeah, no, something something like that.

SPEAKER_02

Like, you know, that's no, but he does, and Steven will call me at work. Like, what are you doing? And he can literally tell that I'm sitting at my desk in my office on the computer. I'm like, I'm working.

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just like, dude, you all right, I'm over. It's crazy how times change on stuff. You know, when cell phones were kind of new, it was it was kind of considered rude to like if you're calling someone and you're out and about, like, you know, you couldn't give them the the courtesy of being somewhere. And now it's gotten to where, you know, with texting, it's almost like text me, and then if it's an emergency, you know, then call me.

SPEAKER_02

Well, you know, it's funny because you remember remember when we were younger, like you didn't call after nine. Right. Like you did not call somebody after nine o'clock. Like you just waited the next day. You couldn't call them. But now you can be like, hey, call me when you get a chance. And they call you and it'd be 10 o'clock at night, you know? Yeah. But like I remember like it was a big deal not to call somebody after 9 p.m. Like you just didn't do it. You did not do it. And now, like I said, it's it's normal, you know. So it's times do change a lot. I mean, it's it's it's kind of weird how things work. You know, so well, Brent. I don't know what else.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, what else we got? I I don't know, man. I I think you're probably about to pass out on me.

SPEAKER_02

We well, you know, I could go in there and take me a quick nap. I mean, the kids are gone. Well, two of them's gone, one of them's sleeping, so you probably need to, man. You know, wouldn't be wouldn't be a bad deal. I mean, I wouldn't be mad at it. Only problem is if I fall asleep, I might not want to get up for the sandbass, and they're gonna be mad at me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

The next 30 minutes can can really help.

SPEAKER_02

You know, earlier for some reason I was thinking today was Sunday, and I was kind of upset because I gotta go work tomorrow, but we're good. It's Sunday. I mean, there you go. I meant Monday, but it's only Sunday, so we're good. We good. Well, I guess that is all we have for this week. So, guys, my name is Josh, and you know, my co host Britt, and we're just still trying to figure it out. Y'all have a good one.
