This week, Josh and Britt talk about surviving while their wives are away, emergency room visits, sick kids, Falls Creek, flooded floors, Germany mission trip memories, and why dads sometimes operate with absolutely no schedule. Plus, a little NBA offseason talk, World Cup discussion, and the usual chaos that comes with trying to figure out life one week at a time.

SPEAKER_01

Welcome back to another week of Still Figuring It Out. I'm Josh with my buddy Britt. Well, we've waited another week. Yep. They still hadn't kicked us off yet. So I'm just waiting on the sorry you no longer can upload your podcast. And but we're still good. So banned or have the FBI knocking on our door.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So how was your week, man? Man, pretty good. Just really just the same old stuff working and trying to get through this summer heat.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, man. It's it's been a brutal couple weeks. You know, I I went to I helped out with Falls Creek two weeks ago. And last week my wife was gone doing her little trip with her work. All week long? Yeah, so you know, so like I said, I got a whole week off from the kids two weeks ago, you know, so I didn't have to be uh a responsible adult. I got to be a fun adult, you know, with as a as a sponsor for Falls Creek. And then the last week I had to I had to grow up and and buckle up pretty quick because like I said, I was called by myself last week.

SPEAKER_02

Well that Falls Creek week's not really a probably a week off. I mean you're getting a lot more kids and they're they're not your kids, uh you know, probably a little older, but uh right, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And and you know, they're not bad. I mean, they have free time. While they go to free time, I'm you know, I'm working, but whenever from you know after I guess dinner per se, whenever you're there, I'm it's really not bad, honestly, at False Creek. The only thing the only downfall to False Creek is you don't get much sleep. Yeah, that's for sure. Kids they they like to be goofy and stay up and all that, but you know, it's it's it's fun, you know. I mean, you get to see the Lord work and you get to see kids, you know, grow closer to God, and then you just get to see kids that discover God for the first time. And man, it's it's a pretty magical place. If you've Did you have any people get saved that week? Yeah, we uh we had a few uh get saved, you know, a few rededications. Man, we had one one kid that just I mean, he knocked it out of the park, you know. He's he's been saved, but you know, he just was growing up, but man, he was a leader this week. It was it was just impressive to watch, man. Just uh how many kids did oh go ahead. Just to see him grow. You know, it was it was cool. How many kids went? Do you think that's a good one? Oh geez, be lying. Uh probably 75 to 85. You know, so a lot more than we ever had. How many sponsors went with you? I think there was four girls and three guys. That's not too bad. Which I guess I guess it was it'd be four guys counting Quinn, the youth minister.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But he's kind of in charge of the whole thing, you know. I don't think he had he didn't have a small group or anything like that. So there was four small groups for girls and then three small groups for guys. But like I said, Quinn, he he runs the show. So but and then last week, man, Infinity and Steven both they went to this little trip, this talent search trip with seventh grade. They took seventh graders to OSU, you know, for a week, and they got to, you know, do some campus tours and play some games and stuff like that, which obviously Infinity is in charge of it. And then Steven was the one of the sponsors for that. So it was just me, Riley, Indy Ivy, and Jersey. And it was it was brutal, man. Like it was it was brutal. You know, Jersey, I I I had to take two days of sick, sick leave because Jersey, man, he just he had a high fever, and man, it just went up and down, up and down all week long. And I just I could not get it, you know, to stop. I mean, I I just motrin, motrin, motrin. And I probably should have been doing motrin talinol, motrin, talent all, but I I didn't. But you know, like I said, we even went took a trip to the ER because you know, one time he was sitting at 102.8, you know, and you're just like, holy smokes. But but like he'd be real, real sick and not want to do nothing, then all of a sudden, like flip a switch and be off the wall running around, jumping off things, and you're just like, I thought you were sick, you know. So like, but but yeah, so you know, it was a it was a long week. Luckily, I had Riley, man. Riley's Riley's clutch, you know. Like she'd volunteer to make grilled cheeses or breakfast, and you know, she'd do that, and she'd make them lunch. I mean, she asked to make them lunch. I mean, I didn't make her do any of it, you know, but she would ask if she could. I'm like, 100%, you know, like yeah, that's a big hit. Yeah, that's so and you know, she's really good with her siblings, man. The the girls, not so much Jersey, but the girls are all about Riley, you know, that they they love hanging out with Riley and being around Riley, so that helps a lot, you know. I like I said, I don't I don't make her, I'm not like, hey Riley, you're gonna stay home today and do this, you know, or anything like that. But but she was supposed to go to to the centric kids, it's it's a children's church camp, you know, to be a helper. But you know, she was supposed to go to that, and she told me they they were supposed to call her about doing something. I don't know, but they never called her, so I don't know. So she didn't go. So, but man, I mean, I think God knew how much I needed help. Yeah. And uh, you know, he had other plans, but but yeah, so she she was here this week, but like I said, she was supposed to go there and and do that, but for some reason, I don't know what happened. I mean, she might know and she might have just said no or she might just mean I don't know. I have no idea, honestly. So, but yeah, so that was my my week. Oh, then that does oh go ahead. No, no, you're fine, go ahead.

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna say that does remind me we did have to make an ER trip last week. I totally forgot. Yeah, so well I was working, but you know, like I said, we're staying at my parents there off at Alaska and they got back from church and I guess Gabby was changing. I don't really know what happened, but something about the dresser being pointed and it just cut her leg and it was kind of like, eh. I don't know if she needs stitches or you know, kind of on that fringe and and went up there to to my aunt's Rachel's house and had her look at it, and she was kind of the same way, like I you know, maybe you do, maybe you don't. So we just played it safe and went up to Ada at the Chickasaw's and ended up being nothing too major, but yeah. But yeah, when you said that, I was like, Oh, I I guess we did.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So we made a couple both of us made some drips to e hear this week. That's always exciting.

SPEAKER_02

It's funny because you know, I don't know how they they did it with you, but with Gabby, they they wanted her to tell them what happened. I guess they they want to make sure there's no abuse or anything. And so when we first walk in, she tells the head person there, and then they take us to the back and she tells them two of them. So she's told that story three times. Well then the doctor comes in the fourth time and she just rolls her eyes at him like you points at at my wife, Danetta. He you tell him. I'm tired of telling that story.

SPEAKER_01

Kids say the darnest thing. Hey, you know, speaking of kids saying the darnest thing, so check this out. Thursday night, we go out and we eat, and we're at El Tapatillo in Ardmore. And we're sitting there eating, you know, Mexico's playing, so you know, the Hispanics are all watching the game and cheering, and and you know, so anyway, we're eating and I get full, man. You know, because I have had that surgery, so I get full pretty fast. And I'm like, oh, I can't breathe, I can't move, you know, I'm just gonna sit here. And man, Indy. She said, she looks at me and she says, Dad, she said, Did you just eat one big giant hamburger while you're round like that? I was like, Well, I ate a whole bunch of giant hamburgers to get around like this, but but yeah, she did. I mean, and and it was you know what made it funny was she was just so like she was serious.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she wasn't like making a fat joke.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like the look on her face, like I mean, she was serious, you know, because round like a hamburger.

SPEAKER_02

So I've she thought I might have ate just one giant hamburger, and well, and she's probably eaten a lot of hamburgers and she's not nearly your size. Like, like how the heck do you that big?

SPEAKER_01

It was just it was just hilarious because she said it, and I mean, like the look on her face, like you could tell she was dancing. But uh, but yeah, it was it was good though, you know. Um, we had a we had a pretty fun week, you know. We we went to the park six times during those four days that Infinity was gone. I was parked out, man.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we we go to the park a lot, and she likes to go, go, go. And sometimes I'll walk around the track or something, but I I get parked out pretty easy. Yeah, dude.

SPEAKER_01

I you know, I got to a point where I was like, hey, y'all just go play in the park and I'm just gonna sit in the truck. You know, like I'm just gonna sit here because I I mean what do what does a you know a guy my size do at the park, you know, other than push your kids. I get tired of pushing, man. I stay pushing. I know I taught her how to how to do the swings I could. And that's the thing is the girls can push themselves or swing themselves, but man, if I'm there, they just they don't want to do it. They want me to push them. I'm like, no, like I'm tired of pushing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but you got a good on that part of it because they can at least play with each other. And Gabby, every time we go, wants me to play with her. Unless we get lucky and there's a kid there that she knows.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well, they they either play with each other well or they team up on one of the other ones, you know, and there's a lot of that, man. It's it's either Jersey and Indy or Jersey and Ivy. They don't ever team up on Jersey, really. You know, I'm just like, why would you not pick on Jersey? Like, y'all are y'all are twins, like y'all should be together, you know. Right. But that never, it's never that case. But but you know, and then and then Jersey gets mad at both of them because he wants something they have, you know. But he he is the you would think with having three of that same age, they'd be pretty good with sharing. No, no, no. Only one No, I wouldn't think that they'd be good at sharing at that point. Only one of them, only one of them's decent at sharing, that's Ivy. Jersey, Jersey and Indy, no, dude. If there's something laying on the floor and I ask Indy whose it is, if it's not makeup and she has to go put it up, it's obvious. They don't matter if it's hers or not, it's obvious. You know, and and Jersey's just gonna get you like you're dumb. Like you're like, I ain't picking that up, you know. Right. But uh, but yeah, everything, everything is Ivy's unless it's makeup. And then she's like, oh yeah, that's mine. I'll take it. Then I'm like, no, it's mine. I'm just like, oh my gosh, can y'all please just chill out, you know? But it's it was it was a good week, it was a long week. Oh, and then so I get home Saturday, right, from Falls Creek. Well, my floor's wet. Or Jersey's floor's wet. I'm like, what is going on? Why is this floor wet? So like how wet was it? Like it was soaked all throughout the whole room. Yeah, it was soaked. Like so, you know, I call and make a claim on Monday because I didn't know what it was. I didn't know if Jersey spilled something or what. Like I wasn't sure. But come Monday, like, it was wet in the hallway, like you could step on the tile and you could hear it like squishing in the bottom underneath, and I was like, what is going on? Well, I had uh Rio come over, Rio's amor. And he came and they ripped up the floor, and you know, he was like, Yeah, you need to make a claim on your home insurance because it's it's bad. So, but you know, Rio got got the leak to stop. He got an HVAC guy out here or plumber or something, and got it stopped, but they they ripped up the hall floor because you know it was all the way over here, man, and ripped it up on the front side and the back side of the hallway and Jersey's room, and then four foot into my room, you know, it was it was getting wet into my room. And and so we're doing that process now. So now we have a concrete floor in half of our house, and it's that sucks, you know. So it's just if it's one thing, it's the other. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it I mean that all happens when your wife's gone.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, just yeah, yeah, it can't happen while I'm gone, you know. It's gotta happen when whenever she's gone, and it's my fault, you know, which which she knew that that wasn't my fault, you know. So that's a plus. But but like I said, I mean, it's just been it's been a long week, man. Yeah. It's been a long week. I was I tell my kids yesterday, I was like, man, I just need a vacation. It was like, and I it was either Riley or Steve, and he was like, You just went to Vegas two weeks ago. I'm like, yeah, that wasn't long enough. That's only three days, man. I I need I need to be away from y'all for at least five or six, you know. But and then my wife reminded me that I'm going to Germany next month. So there you go. Yeah. Which that's not really a vacation either. I mean, you know, it's a I'm doing a mission trip and I'm you know, I'm there to serve, and you know, it's it's literally from sun up to sundown. I mean, we're going all day, which but it's baseball, so it's yeah, it's funny it's fun. You know, it is a vacation, yeah. It's it's fun. You know, you're you're playing baseball, you're teaching these kids how to play baseball, and you know, you're talking about the Lord, and you know, so it's it's good. It's it's a lot of fun. I I really enjoy my my German friends, man. They're they're they're good people. That's cool. Yeah, they're good people. So, and you know, and food, holy cow, like it's never ending. You know, because so the the baseball camp, the Texans, we're considered Texans because I go with a church out of Texas, and you know, they the Germans they call us the Texans. Well, we get we get free brats, you know. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, so we get free brat worst. Good down there? Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I imagine that's what the one thing is.

SPEAKER_01

That's what they're known for, yeah. So you know, you get cor curry worst. It's like you, you know, it's a brat worst, they cut it up, like chop it up into slices, and they put like this curry sauce on it, you know, or you know, that and it's it's good, man. It's really good, but it's kind of like a barbecue sauce type thing, but and then you can get french fries and mayonnaise, and that's a thing over there, you know. It's not french fries and ketchup, they do mayonnaise. Yeah, I've heard that. But but yeah, so but the the Texans get all the free food. Oh nice. Yeah, so it's it's it is nice, and but it it's it'll get you. You know, you walk around stuffed all day long. But but no, it's it's a lot of fun, man, seeing these kids, you know, and it it's cool because you know, my very first camp seven years ago, I believe. Maybe eight now. Yeah, I think it's eight years ago. Wow. There was a little boy named Carl, you know, and he was he was a teenager that time, you know. You know, he's like 12 turned 13 because he turns his birthday is during the week of camp every year. And and so he turned 13 that year. But last year, you know, he was he was 20 and or he turned 21, one of the two, something like that. He I think he was 20, turning 21, or 19 turned 20. I don't remember what it is. But last year, I baptized him. You know, so I mean it was it was really cool because see this turd kid that was just you know, uh I love the kid after death, but he is a turd, you know, he is hilarious, but he's just an honorary kid. But watching him grow and mature in his faith and and seeing him, you know, constantly get closer and closer to God. And then from last year, you know, he he asked me with tears in his eyes, you know, asking me if he was like, I'm saved, I believe, I'm a hundred percent, you know, I'm a hundred percent all in. He was like, but I haven't been baptized, and I was wondering if you had baptized before you left. Like, how cool is that? Yeah, you know, so like we had like a little special baptism the night before we left. And I I mean, I baptized him right there at that church that we we partner with, and I mean it was awesome, you know.

SPEAKER_02

That's cool. You must have had a real impact on it.

SPEAKER_01

No, it was yeah, so it was it was a super cool thing, you know, just kind of a full circle moment, you know, just seeing this kid just like I said didn't know who God even was, and then you know, seven years down the road, he asked me to baptize him. Like that's that's pretty cool. So, so it's like you ever have a job and you don't feel like you're doing your job, and then something happens and you're like, man, like I my job it is, it is nice. You kind of see the rewards. Yeah, I do have a purpose. Like, I'm not I mean, I'm seeing it, you know, because because the job that I have now, it's it's kind of like that where you just you're constantly working and you're doing these things and you're going out in the community doing all these events and seeing all these people, but they don't call you to schedule trainings and stuff, they call you know somebody else in my department to schedule everything, so I don't see what they're doing. Oh, so you don't get to see the end result of it or not, I don't know what they're doing, you know. So, but sometimes I'll be there at work and I'll see them in a classroom and I'm like, oh, that's you know, they're here. So you're like, okay, so my job is actually paying off, you know. Yeah, because like I said, you can go out and do all these things. Yeah, I'm yawning all of a sudden. Yeah, you're gonna have to quit that. You're gonna make me start asleep. But but you know, you you see you do all these things all the time from you know, because there'll be sometimes I have to go somewhere, my my job is actually from eight to four, but I'm gonna have to be somewhere at 7:30 in the morning, or I have to go somewhere at six o'clock in the afternoon, you know. So, but and that's just part of my job is going to these events and these these certain you know things that are after hours and stuff, just kind of being out in the community and just being a face for Southern Tech and you know, just building those relationships, but you don't see them getting the trainings they might need or or what they've asked for, or you know, you don't you don't see those things, but sometimes when you do, you're like, ah, that's good. My my job actually is working. I'm not just you know spinning my wheels, you know. So that's always that's always nice to to see, but but uh yeah, sorry, we kind of we went off on the road. We don't really have a track. Yeah, we don't, yeah, we meet it. You know, we went from talking about kids and stuff like that. But you know, I was I was thinking this week, you know, being by myself, would you say it's easier to have your kid by yourself or have your kid with your wife? And I don't mean just obviously overall, it's obviously easier with your wife, right?

SPEAKER_02

I mean I mean we can't do a lot of things without our wives, but is it easier for for you to handle your kid by yourself or with your so if I was in your shoes where you have like 12 kids, I would probably say with my wife because you're just having to juggle it all. But with just having one, probably myself, you know, I I think being able to, you know, I don't have to run anything by her and you know, being able to have the lead on that. And I mean, you know, we we like to play games and do some goofy stuff that maybe my wife doesn't like to do as much, and it's you know, I'm not having to worry about any of that. Now, as far as teaching, you know, schoolwork, I do think it's better when she's there. Yeah if we're if it's something we're learning. I think I think she gets more out of Daneta. Her way of teaching. I my my way of teaching doesn't are you impatient?

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, yeah. We all are. Yeah, you're just like you should know this. I know this, why don't you know this kind of thing? Yeah, I mean I was at first.

SPEAKER_02

I think I've gotten better about that, but it's just like if I can tell she's not focusing like I think she should be, that's I get real impatient with that part of it. Because you know, she has no focus unless she really if she really wants to do it, she'll be zoned in and that's all she's doing. But if she doesn't want to, you can just tell she's not trying.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, I would say for the most part, you know, it's probably easier just me and her.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, you know, for me, without my there's no structure when my wife's not around. Like we have no same, no structure whatsoever. Like bath time happens when it happens, eating time happens when it's time to eat, you know, like we're just all over the place. Well, I mean, structure is a lot better, but no structure is a lot easier. It's a lot easier, right? No, but yeah, so like like you know, Infinity, man, she has I mean, we have a schedule and she goes by that schedule and bed times at a certain time, bath times at a certain time, eating times at a certain time, me dude, we we'll do all three of them out of out of the out of loop and just out of order. And you know, the oh, they took a they took a nap at 4 30 today and slept till 7 o'clock. Yeah, they're gonna stay up in bed and just I'm gonna go to sleep, but they're gonna just lay in bed and watch watch TV until like that's me.

SPEAKER_02

We'll have times if especially if if my wife's gone and we don't have anything going the next day, man, we'll stay up till 10 in the morning and watch TV, sleep till noon.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you know, and and so that's you know, that's us, man. And I'm just like I said, I'm just yeah, sure, let's do it. You know, house will be a mess, and I won't I won't mess with nothing. I won't tell them to clean up nothing. I'm just like, ah, we'll get it before she comes home, you know. Yeah, I'll wait till about 20 minutes. And I'm like, all right, let's try to and then by that time I'm I'm too late, I'm up over my head and junk or to-do list and and it doesn't get done. Then she comes home and I'm like, you know, so for I think for me it is it is easier by myself to To do things because I don't have I don't I don't have a schedule. But I think it's easier and better whenever she's around because she takes care of all like she makes it look easy. You know that's that's the thing about my wife is she makes everything looks easy. And and I know she gets overstimulated and and mad because I don't do enough like cleaning and and then the kids obviously they just go grab something and set it down, they go get something else and set it down somewhere else, and it's not like they're not even playing with it, they'll just grab it and move it and set it down somewhere, like that sword that's sitting right there on the floor. Like, like I guarantee you, Jersey didn't even play with it. He probably walked in here this morning, threw it on the floor, ate a bowl of cereal, and just left it, you know, like like so. It's just things like that where they just constantly do things, and then you know, like today, dude. I told Steven to do the dishes yesterday, and he's like, I'll get them tomorrow. I was like, Steven, I need you to do the dishes. Like, it's tomorrow. I'm gonna work out. Okay, he goes and works out, he comes back home. Dude, I need you to do the why are you always hounding me to do the dishes? And he's just like I'm never hounding you to you know pay the electric bill that you use, or the you know what I mean, or the phone bill that you use. Like, just do the dishes, man. I thought you said a few episodes ago that that was his uh that was his thing, right? But now, so I get in here and I do the dishes and he's like, yeah, I'll do them. I'm like, no, I'm already I've already started. I've already started them. Like, no, I got them. Like, but yeah, because he knew he was like, oh crap, you know, like he's telling he told me, he told what he what did he say? He said something like that's not two days. I'm like, what did I tell you? Yesterday. And I was like, yesterday, that's one. I held up one. I said, what is today? Today, that's two, yesterday and today, that's two days. It might not be full 48 hours, but yesterday and today is two days that I've told you. You know, so but for the most part, he's all right. I mean, uh, he but I think man, I don't know. I just I think our house, which you know, our house is 2,300 square feet. I mean, it's still good size, but when you have seven people, dude, it's hard, man. It just gets overwhelming, and just we have so much stuff that we have probably enough stuff in this house for a six-bedroom house, you know, and a three thousand square foot home. So it's just like, you know, I mean, this this right here, our podcast area takes up a ton of ton of space, you know, and it's it's been sitting here for what, going on three months now. I mean, we're all I mean, yeah, technically we are going, this is what is it, episode 12, I believe. So this is like our three-month yeah episode, you know. Like, so I mean, so this, like I said, this has been sitting right here for three months. So it's you know, this takes up some room, you know. So, I mean, but hey, next week we'll be out there in that building. It comes Monday. So that'll be good. That'll be cool. Yeah, I'm excited. I am, I'm excited for it. It's gonna be gonna be fun, man. You know, we're gonna have AC, right? A hundred percent. Yeah, yep. It has AC. I mean, I mean, uh, you know, we we could uh I ain't doing no weight loss program. We could, yeah, we could uh you know just call it a couple dudes in a sauna, you know, and change the name and microphone be sauna talk or something, but but no, it does. It's it's insulated, it's got AC. I mean, it's that's a done building, you know. So it'll be it'll be cool. That's good. Yeah, that's cool. I'm excited about it. But it'll be again, we'll get some of this house back. But like I said, man, it's just it gets so hard, man, with with all these people in it. And you know, my wife's over here making Facebook posts about having more, and you're just like, oh Lord help us, you know. So you gotta have a couple more, man. But where are we gonna put them? Get you a bigger house? They cost money. You know, find a way to make it. But you know, I will say, my wife, we've decided that she's gonna be done after this, you know, after this transition for her job. She's gonna be a stay-at-home mom. So I think she's excited. Our house will be in order, dude. It'll be great because she can clean all day that she wants, get all the stuff that she wants to be done, done while the kids are at work, or kids are at school and I'm at work, and so like it'll be good.

SPEAKER_02

You know, yeah, that's good. I don't I don't want my wife cleaning while I'm there, that's for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, my son just woke up from a nap, so just to show you how kind of real this podcast is, you know, he was he was taking a nap back there. But no, but like I said, so so it'll be good, man. I'm I'm really excited about it, you know, because he'll start he'll start school this year. Indy and Ivy, there they'll be five, they'll be in kindergarten, you know, Riley will be a junior, which is crazy to think. Steven will be a senior in college, like, but you know, so he won't be around much more. I mean, obviously he'll come home and stuff, but the like the nice thing is we'll have that building out there. So, you know, at some point whenever him and Violet get married, like they won't have to worry about you know, staying in here, they'll have their own spot. You know what I mean? It'll be nice to have that own spot where they can go out and you know, have a bed, TV, you know, stuff like that.

SPEAKER_02

So they won't get your house, miss. Right, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And I mean, like I said, I that'll just be a great thing. And then Riley, she'll be, you know, she'll be getting going to college and everything else. And and that's that's even if we're here in two years, you know, man. I'm I stay trying to go, man. I'm trying to move to Spain, you know, like I I'm set on it, man. And I think I might be the only one set on it, you know. You know, so so Indy and Ivy will tell you they they want to move to Spain, but they don't even know what Spain is, you know. So, but uh but yeah, so like I said, we uh we just have a lot going on at this house, but I'm excited. I'm I'm excited for Infinity because she's excited, you know, like she wants to be a stay-at-home mom and be able to go to I mean, which luckily she has a job where she could go to the kids' stuff now, but she wants to be able to drop the kids off. She wants to be able to pick the kids up, and you know, she wants to be able to do all those things, and so with this, she'll be able to, you know.

SPEAKER_02

So that's what when we first got married, that's what my wife kept hassling me about. I'm gonna be a stay-at-home mom, I'm gonna be a stay-at-home mom, and then she did it, and she didn't want to be a stay-at-home mom anymore, man.

SPEAKER_01

She and and I could and I could see that with infinity because Infinity is she's a she's a social butterfly. I mean, she's a busybody. That that woman will not set, like she can't set. Like, literally, like I told you before we started, we was cleaning the house today, you know, and and she got done cleaning the girls' bedroom and getting rid of a ton of junk and stuff like that. Dude, she went straight from there, straight to outside picking weeds. Dang. I'm just like, man, like you gotta chill, girl. Like, you know, which granted, she is you know, 30 years old, so she's a lot younger than me. So but uh but no, like I said, she just she stays going, man. And she's but and but it'll be good. I mean, you know, obviously at some point she'll probably want to go back to work. Oh, yeah. But but I truly believe we're not in a hurry of for her to find a job, you know, like we're not in no big hurry where she's gotta just get in a job that she don't want or something like that. Like it can be something that it's perfect for her where she can do some stuff online, be done with it, and and have the rest of her day, you know. Yeah, that's a good thing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no. You get a job, especially if it's like high paying that you hate, yeah, you you feel kind of stuck there.

SPEAKER_01

Right. And and you know, the Lord's blessed us enough to where we can we can take this opportunity to allow her to be off work and get our house in order how she wants it. And because it don't matter what I want when it comes to house. Like, I mean, you know, she told me we're gonna do that white backsplash on that kitchen over there with with this countertop and everything was gonna be white. I was like, dude, that's gonna look terrible. Well, as you can see, it's it's pretty nice, you know. So so uh she was she was right, you know, and and that's how it's been with everything that we've we've done. I'm like, man, I don't know about that. And then we get done with it. I'm like, oh yeah, this is actually just pretty nice, you know. So but it'll be good though. Jersey, what you doing, dude?

SPEAKER_03

Floody.

SPEAKER_01

Huh?

SPEAKER_03

Flood.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah? Whatever he said. But but yeah, so you know, it's um life's been life in this week, you know. Like I said, with the flood, then or the f I say I say a flood like it's was standing water. It wasn't like but it still messed up enough stuff where I had to we had to rip floor up and everything else, you know, and it and the worst part is it got on Infinity's wedding dress. Yeah, so it's brown and stinky. Dang, you know, yeah. Yeah, that hurts. So, but you know, like I said, it's good, man. I mean, we we made it, we made it through a week without mom, so mom's home now, and we ain't gotta worry about her leaving, huh? So, but then you know, I'll go to Germany next month and I'm ready to go. I bet. How long you stay out there? So I think I'm leaving early. I think I'll be out there either 11 or 13 days total. Yeah. Yeah, it's a pretty it's a pretty pretty lengthy trip. But I think I'm gonna go out there early with the like the early and kind of train the translators and stuff on what we're doing and the rules and stuff, because that that needs to be done. Like last year it wasn't done. We we was playing with two separate rules, and I'm like, you know, and I was like, the game of baseball is the game of baseball. Like there isn't if it crosses this line, it's it's a dead ball. No, it's the live ball just crossed the line, you know, like like an overthrow. They're trying to call it a dead ball, even though it just hits the fence. The fence is still Oh, really? Yeah, so I mean, just little rules like that that they don't know about. I mean, we're just gonna have to kind of teach them, you know. So how many teams are there? So we actually it's a ton. We usually have five teams of the lower division, so from like first grade to third grade. So there's five or six teams, and then from fourth grade to seventh grade will be five or six teams, and then from eighth grade or eighth and ninth grade or nine eighth and tenth grade will be five or six teams, and then from eleventh to twelfth grade will be another five or six teams. Oh, okay. But you know, we do we do the younger kids in the morning and then the older kids in the afternoon. So Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So you're not running like a specific team, you're running the whole thing.

SPEAKER_01

No, yeah, yeah. Yeah. It's it's it's it's a lot of moving parts, but man, they they do a really good job. Steve, man, he's a he's a cool dude. He's in his 80s, but he's been he's been going to this German on this mission trip for over 20 years, man. And he's you know, he's but it's cool because like he's um had kids from when they were little kids, and now they're you know our age. Like they're they're married and they're have families of their own. So like, you know, he's seen them from little kids to have families, and and you know, they'll they'll come and they'll stay with him, you know, in McKinney, and you know, he'll take them to eat, or they'll come and see him at camp. And I mean, they're people our age, you know. You know, that's pretty cool to see that that he's been around that long to see these kids a long time to do it. You know, he's he's helped kids find jobs, he's helped kids go to school, like, but he's he's very, you know, the Lord blessed him, you know, to be able to help do those things. So it's been it's been good. You know, it's been good. But yeah, so so now, you know, now that basketball's over with, man. I mean, that's I guess it's all in the football season now, huh? Yeah, on the football. Who who's your team? Oh, the Cowboys, baby. Cowboys. Oh, he's here. Nope, Mom's not here. But but yeah, so so we uh should win it all this year.

SPEAKER_02

What?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, I think we're gonna win it all this year. I mean, it is.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Well, you know what?

SPEAKER_01

At some point it's gotta happen, right? I mean, at some point we gotta be able to say it's our year. You say it every year, yeah. Well, you know, I don't know, man. I don't think they But hey, if the Knicks won it after 52 years, there's a chance. Uh I mean we we got 19 more years left, but yeah, but you know, it'll be okay.

SPEAKER_02

I bet they could break that 53 before they get it, but I guess we'll see. I think I think we'll get who's your who's your team? The Raiders. Oh, oh yeah, I knew that. I I knew that. So I'm I'm not saying we're gonna be better. I'm just saying the Cowboys aren't gonna do it.

SPEAKER_01

You're like you're like me at the beginning of the season whenever the Thunder fans were talking about they were gonna win it all, and I'm like, no, they're not. And they're like, yeah. Yeah, they are, and I'm like, no, I'll take the field. Like, hadn't been a back-to-back champion in a while. Yeah, eight years. Yeah, last eight years.

SPEAKER_02

But uh I still I still I still don't think Wimby's the best player in the league, though. But I I guess we'll Do you think he will be? Oh, he will be at some point, yeah. Some point soon. But I mean I almost feel like you can- You think it's next year? No. No? No, I don't think so. I hope not. For my sake. Well, not just you, just I just don't want to I don't want to see any team other than my team that dominate, you know, next seven, eight years.

SPEAKER_01

You know, it it's it's fun whenever whenever your team has been bad for, you know, five or six years like our had ours has.

SPEAKER_02

I don't feel sorry for you, man. The Spurs went on a long run of winning 50 plus games.

SPEAKER_01

It was a great, it was a great taking a few years off. It it makes it makes it that much sweeter when we're gonna do it. I'll give you that though. You know, we got back a lot quicker than I thought we were gonna be. You know, yeah, that was I really thought it was gonna be another two years before we made the finals. I really I thought it was gonna be a play-in team this year, a playoff team next year, a Western Conference final team the year after, and then a finals team. But we just said, nah, forget about that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I will give Wimby some credit. He definitely jumped through some hoops of being maybe you know a fringe top 10 player to arguably the best player in the in the league.

SPEAKER_01

I I I just I truly think that he's which Dylan Harper is incredible. You know, he's incredible. Like Harper, Castle, like Castle's good. I mean, obviously he was good, he's rookie of the year. Wimby's good, he was rookie of the year.

SPEAKER_02

At least they still got Fox's contract, so maybe. Which I I think he'll be, I think he'll be gone. He probably will be.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I I really wish we would have traded him at the trade deadline whenever he was worth something. Right. But but then again, here's the thing though, as I say that, but he but he would we have been in the final.

SPEAKER_02

That's what I'm saying, because he he played really well against the Thunder. He had a bad series against the Knicks, but Wimby had a bad series too. Yeah, which I mean by his standards. Yeah, which I mean, you know, he did have so people beating him down. If you look at the numbers, he wasn't that much worse than than Castle. Yeah. That one for ten to to end the series.

SPEAKER_01

I think I think the problem was him staying in the game when Dylan Harper was playing how he was. Like you've you know, that's kind of a good thing. But it's but then again, it's it's hard to put it on a rookie like you know, but Dylan Harper's different. I I truly believe if he was on any other team, he'd have been rookie of the year. I truly believe it. I dude, he's he's just he probably should have been.

SPEAKER_02

He's he's that they gave it to Flag because of that 50-point game. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, otherwise it would have been Conn. I think Conn should have won it anyway. I do too. I think Collin, well I think Flag should have been third. But here's my thing with Flag, though, is he I mean, dude, he was shooting 30 plus times a game. Yeah. What what player or or rookie is ever shooting SGA don't average 30 shots a game. Right. And he's the best shooter in the world. I'll tell you.

SPEAKER_02

Mostly because a lot of those fouls doesn't get right counted as an over one. That is true.

SPEAKER_01

That is true. But I mean, you know, like I just I just think it's crazy that he's shooting that much, you know.

SPEAKER_02

But I didn't he got a lot of hype, maybe not like Wimby or LeBron or some of those guys when they're maybe more like uh who's that other guy from Zion? Zion. He's probably got about the hype of Zion. But I I don't know. I just never felt like he was that good, just from what I saw. I I would take him though. Or yeah, take him.

SPEAKER_01

But he's he's six eleven. I didn't know he was calling him a once-in-a-generation player. I don't know. I didn't know I didn't know he was that big. Yeah, he's a big guy. So I don't know. I'd I'd take him. But basketball's over with now. I'm just excited to see what happens with the whole Giannis deal. And you know, Boston for some reason wanting to move Jalen Brown, which is crazy to me. Like, why you'd want to get rid of that guy?

SPEAKER_02

Well, does he want out though? That's the thing, is I I think I mean it's rare to get a Clay Thompson that's fine being the number two guy, and everyone knows Orde Three, you know, and gonna stick around. I I think he believes he may be better than Tatum and wants to go out and prove it.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you know, I did see there were a few guys, bigs, they came out and said they wanted to play in San Antonio. So I'm I'm hoping those bigs uh are Isaiah Hartenstein. I want Isaiah Hartenstein so bad, dude. He better not. Well, they're talking about re redoing his deal because they can't afford him.

SPEAKER_00

$28 million? How do you pay how do you pay SGA, J Dub, Chet, and Isaiah Hartenstein? That kind of money.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I think if they if they could get rid of maybe like Dort and I don't know, they may have to let someone else may have to let Wallace go.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I I think they either have to let AJ Mitchell go. Or I but I think AJ Mitchell might leave next next year anyway, because he's a star. Yeah. That kid's good. Like he is being out. I mean, he is being covered up because of Jalen Williams. Right. Like, and you know, that's what my buddy was saying. He was like, oh, dude, if we if we would have had J Dub, we would have beat y'all. Actually, every game we won in that series, J Dub played. You know, he was clearly still hurt. Right. But my thing is, when Jay when J Dub's playing, Jaron McCain and AJ Mitchell's having to sit on the bench because he's taking their minutes. And I honestly, I I love J Dub. Like he's my favorite player on the Thunder. You know, because I'm not a Thunder hater like everybody's like. Everybody assumes I'm a Thunder hater because I'm a Spurs fan. I I don't mind the Thunder. I mean, my trim lights, I have Thunder lights, you know, going on. You know, I mean, you got kids that are Thunder fans. Yeah, so I mean, and I'm in Oklahoma. I I live in Oklahoma. Like, I don't hate, I hate the fact SJA falls every time he look gets looked at. But other than that, I don't mind, like, I don't mind saying it. He's the best shooter in the world. Um so I mean, I'm I'm perfectly fine saying that. I don't feel guilty saying it, but but like I said, I just I just think you get rid of J Dub because you've got to keep AJ Mitchell and and and McCain. Like you've got to have those two. Like those two are too good to let go.

SPEAKER_02

That's tough. I don't it's tough to get rid of him, but man, if he can't stay healthy, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I don't I don't know, but like I said, I'm really hoping that Hartenstein just decides, hey, I'm just gonna see what everybody else has to offer because if he does that up, they have to trade up and get that center. They have to, yeah, I agree. But they've got they've got picks to do.

SPEAKER_02

A day Mara.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But they got they got picks to do it. But like I said, I'm I'm just curious to see what happens because the Spurs have a ton of picks. The Thunder have a ton of picks.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

And and honestly, if you ask me, those are the two best teams in the NBA. I think so. And and it's I don't think it's close. I mean, I'll obviously the Knicks won, I get that, but like you're not gonna sit there and tell me that the Knicks are better than the Thunder or the Spurs.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I just I think they're better than the Spurs. I think what they beat them six out of seven games this year. I mean, the the one the one regular season game was the the cup. So that's the most important regular season game you would play. Yeah, but it's seven out of eight.

SPEAKER_01

Or six out of seven, six out of seven.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if I'm being honest, I would probably say it's a three-way tie. I would say the thunder better than the Knicks. It's row, paper, scissors. It's a roll, paper, scissors game. That's the way of playing it.

SPEAKER_01

And and I think the reason why is because we have the guard play to play with the thunder.

SPEAKER_02

The thunder and the thunder have a lot of depth, and that's good in the regular season, and that gets you a lot of wins. But man, when you get to playoffs and your starters are playing more, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That depth doesn't do you anything. But like, you know, like I said, I I think the the the Spurs have great guard play. I mean, they're all they're all as big as SGA. And so that that really hurt them because the Thunder are known as to drive the lane, kick it out to an open guy because that guy has to crash down. But when you have Wemby down there, you don't have to come down and help. So when they'd kick it out, they'd throw it to a Spurs player right in the passing lane. You know, so that I think that killed them, which they have Chet and Hartenstein against the Knicks. So they have Biggs to go against Robinson and Kat. So they can beat the Knicks, whereas we don't have Biggs. So that's why the Knicks beat us. I think we're a power forward away from being the best team in the NBA. Probably. Depending on who it is. And that that's why I really want Isaiah Hartenstein. Because if we have Isaiah Hartenstein, man, Wimby can play the four. Cornet can back up. Him and Hartenstein can come in for big minutes. And then I just I man, Hartenstein is my dream pick. And Thunder fans are like, oh, they need to get rid of he's not very good. You know, I'm like, dude, y'all don't know. I'm not saying that at all. As a guy that watches a whole lot of not just the Spurs or not just the Thunder, I watch a whole lot of NBA, period. I'm telling you, Hartenstein is a gold mine if you if you have him. You know, he really is. Now, obviously, he's not like a joker or anything like that, but he's I I bet he's a top five center. Maybe. I I think he's a top five center. Okay, so yeah, so who do you think is be better? I mean, honestly, I mean we we have we have Jokic, obviously. That's a guarantee. Are you counting are you counting Wimby as a five or a few?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, you're a Spurs fan.

SPEAKER_01

You I mean tell me what positions we can I mean, as of right now, he's a center, but he's really a power forward. I I would put Wimby above him just because, well, we've seen, I mean, Hardenstein just can't keep up with Wimby. He's too quick for him. A cat. Yeah. He he he proved himself again this year. I mean, who else? Dern for the Pistons. Yeah. But other than that, I don't I don't think there's a better big.

SPEAKER_02

It may not be. I mean I mean throughout the season, I would would disregard the the Spurs series, would you take him or Chet? Well, I mean, you you think about Chet was number two on two or three on Defensive Player of the Year, two or three.

SPEAKER_01

Two. But yeah, but I mean, you you think you think about that, think about the the year they won it against against the Pacers. Chet was on the bench the entire game. Mr. Hartenstein was the re the war was in the game. But Chet was on the bench. You know, like every fourth quarter, you found Chet on the bench. That's a good point. So I mean, I'm I'm I'm honestly if I'm looking at as as a true five big man with when it comes to rebounding offensively and defensively, I'm probably gonna take Hartenstein over Chet. I mean, Chet's Chet's long and moves fairly decent, and he can shoot a three-ball a little bit. Yeah. But other than that, I mean, think think about think about the rebounds this year. Y'all don't have Hartenstein, y'all don't, y'all don't win 60 games. No. No, there's no way. You know what I mean? I mean, and and and Hartenstein only played 40-something games. Yeah. But I I he's just he's so valuable because dude, you find a big man that can that can crash a board and and get boards like he does, but Hartenstein can dish the ball pretty well. I mean, he had to cover it. I would take him over Gobert just because of the age, the age difference. Oh, that's yeah, that's big. You know, I mean, Gobert's what, 36, 35, 36 now? I mean, which uh still younger than we are, but but in the NBA, that's old. I mean, he's all he's an old head. You know, he's old. He's considered unk now, you know, like so I I don't know, man. I just uh I I just I'm a huge Isaiah Hartenstein fan. I and it's uh again, like I said, I I don't think a lot of Thunder fans realize how great having a guy like there's probably gonna be several players they lose that they don't realize till they're gone how good they were.

SPEAKER_02

What do you consider Giannis? I mean, he's a power forward.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't consider him a five, but but for his team, he really is because he plays at some Bobby Bobby Porters Jr. is the four, he's the power forward for him.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's the thing. Another thing though about the NBA is a lot of times there's really no position, it's a high it's a hybrid type thing. And that's what would you call LeBron? You he I've seen him play a lot of all five positions.

SPEAKER_01

I call LeBron the GOAT, but I'm not gonna get in that debate with you. But uh, but I mean, you know, he he played that's the only player that can play all five positions and be effective, honestly. Magic. Magic ain't the league. Oh, right now. Yeah, I'm talking about right now. I thought you'd been there. I'm talking about right now. Okay, yeah, yeah. But and but what's crazy is he's doing it in his 40s. Like, that's impressive, man. Like, you know, the like longevity of the game just for LeBron and what he does is just incredible. He is.

SPEAKER_02

I just I don't know that his peak was MJ's peak, but that can be a debate another day.

SPEAKER_01

I would that's just me though, which I I just think MJ's competitiveness can't be matched. Well, I mean, other than Kobe, I think Kobe's competitiveness, dude. When who who Christy? Uh who wasn't that wasn't Christy. Who looked like he was gonna throw the ball in Kobe's face and he just wasn't phased? Like I don't remember it wasn't Doug Christie, I don't think. I don't think it was Doug Christie. I don't remember who it was, but but yeah, I had the ball and act like he was gonna hit Kobe in the face, dude. Kobe just he didn't move. Like he like like, man, come on, man. Like, you give me a Kobe Bryant, dude. We win it, we win it all. Like, I wish Castle Castle was a Kobe Bryant type guy. I mean, he's a wild man. That's what scares me about Castle is he's just so so quick before we go, who's the top three players in the league right now? Oh, that's that's that's easy. That's it's Wimby, S G A, and Jokic. There's no question. It's really it's those three. Who who else?

SPEAKER_02

Man, that because the this is. Here's the thing about Jokic, though. Here's the thing about Jokic, what is this three out of the last four years that they have been MVP have folded in the playoffs when they were favored?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Jokic is still the best player. I mean, I mean, he has no help other than him. I mean, Jamal Murray is so he's just such a roller coaster, dude. Like he's a roller coaster. Like that dude will be an all-star and then be a G-League type player. Like, he is so just But I I just don't know how you can take.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I'm not one of those guys that's gonna say the NBA finals MVP. Um you know, Chauncey Bills was never the best player. Jalen Brown was never the best player in the league. But after seeing what Jalen Brunson did, how does he not make a case?

SPEAKER_01

I'm not putting it in the body. He doesn't make a case, no, not at all. Ah, his defense isn't there. I mean, he's a defensive liability. You can't be the best player in the league and and be a defensive liability like he is and not have anything other than scoring. What he doesn't, he doesn't get assists, he doesn't get rebounds, he he's all he does is score, but he shoots 30 plus times a game. Like and and and here's the thing if he doesn't have that 40-point game in game five, does he win MVP or is it OG?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I don't know because I think it's OG because I I I because what I don't know. I don't know. He had too big too many big big but towards the end he he wasn't nearly as effective, I don't think, man.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, I I don't know. I just I wish there were more more basketball guys, you know, because like basketball is fun to watch, and people are like, oh, I hate watching the NBA because dude, they're so athletic, man. They're freak athletes. I mean, they are freak athletes being able to watch guys that fly through the air like they do. And you know, like people were talking about, well, I wish we had 90s basketball. No, you don't. 90s basketball was boring. 90s basketball was it was man defense. They didn't they didn't move the ball like they do now. They don't, you know, they they wasn't shooting the ball like that. But I know what they mean by it was a tougher game.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was more tough.

SPEAKER_01

It was tough for the Bigs. Yeah, it was tougher for the Shaqs, it was tougher for the David Robinsons, it was tougher for the Tim Duncan's. I mean, it was tough for those guys, Tony Kukoch. Like it was tough for those guys. But it wasn't tough, it wasn't tough for MJ. It wasn't tough for you know, Bird or Magic.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, if you're driving in the lane, you know, you're gonna get popped pretty good by a lot of things.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I I just like I said, man, these these people that talk about the NBA of how it's soft, it is not soft. Have you ever looked at have you ever looked at Ched or or Wemby, like their shoulders when they're shooting free throws? Those dudes are so cut up and bruised up on their arms and shoulders, you know, like they they get they get hacked down there, they get pulled on, beat up, and it just doesn't get called. But like if but then again, if they called every single foul, dude, the games would last six hours. Right. You know, so I just I like I said, I think as as me, somebody that loves watching basketball, I just I I think the new the new game would destroy the MJ Air type game.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I mean I agree, but but sports evolve, and I don't think I don't think an MJ team would be ready for like the Curry Warriors.

SPEAKER_01

No, they would they nobody was shooting from 40 feet. They would get destroyed. Like how do you they would know how to know how to cover it? They you know, I mean, I mean, I guess maybe Steph Kerr.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, but if he was able to adapt. Adapt and you know, see the game how this team was playing, I I do think he would have been able to at least make a case.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I I don't know. Like I said, I just those arguments are tough to I think I think the three best players are SGA, Jokic, and Wimby. And not in that order. I just think it's those three. I think it's uh but I will say the reason why I do think Wimby is the best is because SGA can't rebound like Jokic, right? Okay. Wimby can rebound just like Jokic. Jokic can't run the court like SGA. Wimby can run the court just like SGA. You know, so like there are so many things that Wimby can do that everybody else can do, but there isn't anybody else that can do everything that Wimby can do. Does that make sense?

SPEAKER_02

It makes sense, but I'm still gonna t I'm still gonna take the guy that was better than him throughout the series and beat him four out of five games. And that's and that's and that's fine. I mean but but here's what I mean I mean, whenever it came down to crunch time and it was like you need a bucket, Brunson was because I think that's the most important attribute in the NBA. Go give me a bucket when I need a bucket.

SPEAKER_01

But if you think about it, Brunson wasn't the ones that took those shots, it was OG. He scored, he went on a 10-0 run, just Brunson. Oh, yeah, in in that one game, but the rest of the series, it was OG. OG's the one that ran down that De'Aaron Fox block.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and OG was really good in that series.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just saying all I'm saying is if I mean he was the clutch player of the year for Brunson. If Brunson didn't shoot 30 times a game, I don't think he would have done as much. I mean, he now don't get me wrong, he does a great job getting, he probably does the best job of getting separation. He does a great job getting separation. Yeah, that shot he got off where Wemmy couldn't get. Yeah, that whole that whole like step into the player and then the other leg you step out, and you I mean, like, like SGA does a good job, but SGA does a lot of the the elbow flip. Brunson doesn't do the elbow flip at all. Like he he does that step into the player, like steps between their legs, makes some kind of move back, and then steps out the other way. Like I will say Brunson is phenomenal at getting separation, but I'm still I'm still not putting him top three.

SPEAKER_02

Shoot, I'm I'm not putting him top five. I mean, I I don't know. I I think we'll see, we'll have to see how next season plays out, but I think as of right now, man, I think it's a good one.

SPEAKER_01

So what is your what is your top what is your top five players? It ain't gotta be no order, just what are your top five players?

SPEAKER_02

Right now, I'm probably going SGA go SGA, Brunson, Wimby, Jokic, Luca.

SPEAKER_01

It's not a bad top five.

SPEAKER_02

But I mean, you know, once you get into the the top 10, 15 players, you know, there's a lot of them that make an argument.

SPEAKER_01

Like I said, I just Brunson's not in my top five. I mean and the only person the only person that was different out of my top five is Jalen Brown.

SPEAKER_02

You think he's better than Tatum?

SPEAKER_01

I think so. Or are you putting them both up there? I think I think he's better than Tatum. I mean Tatum. I mean, it makes a case. It's Tatum's big, it's just Jalen Brown's so freakishly athletic. Yeah. I mean, like the athleticism is just unreal, you know? Yeah. Now I does he score as good as Tatum? No, I don't think he scores as as well as Tatum.

SPEAKER_02

But I think that's another reason that maybe they want to look at trading him for Giannis is because man, they've blown so many series just off of shooting three after three.

SPEAKER_01

You got Pritcher sitting there jacking threes up. I mean, dude, now when he when he's on, Pritcher's good. But when he's off, I mean he's off and they they just keep letting him jack him. Yeah you know, and I think I think they need that guy. But the problem with getting Giannis, man, you're giving one, you're giving up so much for an older guy. Two, he's gotta have the ball in his hands. The Spurs, I don't I don't want the Spurs to go after him because we've got we've got Wimby, he's gotta have the ball in his hands. Yeah, they wouldn't make sense. We got Fox, got to have the ball in his hands. Castle gotta have the ball in his hands. Harper needs the ball in his hands.

SPEAKER_02

Like well, to make the money work, if they were getting Giannis, Fox would probably have to be a big thing. He's got to.

SPEAKER_01

And you know, I've seen a lot of stuff saying that, you know, Trey Young, did you see Trey Young opt it out of his player options?

SPEAKER_02

I saw a lot of people thinking Trey Young.

SPEAKER_01

But because Trey Young has said for the last three years that he wants to play in San Antonio. I mean, he's verbally said I want to play in San Antonio.

SPEAKER_02

See, I don't know if that makes sense either.

SPEAKER_01

No, to me it doesn't, unless, unless he's gonna come on a on a veteran's minimum because he's already got all the money in the world. And he's like, hey man, like I just want to help, I just want to help Dylan Harper. Right. I just don't see that being I mean possible. Right. I mean how old is he, 26, 27? No, he's well, he probably is about that. I mean, I don't think he's in his 30s, is he? No, he's not in his 30s.

SPEAKER_02

So I mean, I guess you could Spurs are another team, man. One of those games against the Knicks, they they had like they were up and had like what eight straight possessions.

SPEAKER_01

You mean the game we was up 29 points? Oh, that's and just gave it up. Yeah, I remember that game. I remember that game very well. So I don't know that you'd want to add a Trey Young to that 27. I don't I don't think you do. I don't I I just don't think that's an option. You know, I I just think I think primary number one is a big, you know. So I don't know. But well, you know, we just kind of talked this week, which is nice. I mean, close out basketball, so we won't talk about basketball anymore. You know, we'll probably talk probably talk some World Cup next week. You know, it's starting to get good. Got pool play going. USA's Mexico's Mexico's unbeaten, you know, USA's unbeaten. So that's that's pretty good. I mean, I'll take it, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so it's you've been watching some of the World Cup. Yeah, oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No, yeah. Me too. I've I've got to watch the World Cup. That's pretty fun. You know, I seen uh I seen a deal that you know Americans were talking about what is the World Cup. I thought, oh, I didn't know we had a team, man. I thought we just hosted it, and you know, you're just like, what? Like, what are y'all talking about? You know? So but people in America just don't pay attention to the World Cup as much as the world does.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it is the biggest, it is the Olympics for the whole world.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, my wife was asking me, she's like, how much do the like these I know these guys don't make as much as football players, but how much do they make? I was like, I'm pretty sure it's more. And I looked it up like Ronaldo, 300 million a year. Yeah, is that not crazy?

SPEAKER_01

No, yeah, it's it's it's just uh it's it's out outstanding how much money those guys make, you know, and uh they they like I couldn't imagine making that kind of money. Even just a fraction of that.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, we're we're getting up over an hour on it.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, so but but yeah, so like I said, you know, we'll we'll talk more about the World Cup next week and stuff like that, and then we'll, you know, we'll reel it back in on dad still trying to figure it out, you know. And you know, so if you have something, you know, a dad fail or tips and dad's tips and tricks, man, share it with us, you know, on our Facebook page.

SPEAKER_02

Any funny stories or anything you could come up with.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, just give us give us something, you know, and and we can we can talk about it and you know, we might even might even like it so much, we might even call you to come to come get on the show, you know, because I mean we got we got time, we'll have our own building starting next week. Oh yeah, we need to get Ron on. Sure. And you know, like I like I told you earlier, I've I've got my buddy in LA, he's the uh project manager for the Olympics. Oh yeah, that's we'll get him on pretty soon, you know, kind of talk about you know the 2028 Olympic Games and kind of what he's been working on and you know tips and tricks that he could probably give us Americans to go maybe catch a game or two. I know I'll be there for sure. Yeah, that'd be fun. So I'm I'm excited to do that and you know, maybe get him on now and then get him on when it's closer to the Olympics kind of kind of what you know what they might need. I mean, who knows? If he's got time by then, oh yeah. Um no Trevor, he's he's my buddy, he'll he'll always find some time for us, even if it has to be super late, he'll he'll squeeze us in. That's cool, you know. So, but yeah, so uh man, Britt, I mean, another week down. So, guys, I'm I'm Josh, and this is Britt, and we're just trying to figure it out.
