[Day Six] Novena to St. Josemaria Escriva

Through the Novena to St. Josemaria, we hope to be reminded of the meaning and importance that God’s will for us is that we be saints. And, we turn to the intercession of St. Josemaria to help us renew and strengthen our personal goal of holiness.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. A little leaven leavens the whole batch of Dow. Saint Jose Maria writes in Christ is passing by. When we meditate on the words of our Lord, and for them do I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. We clearly perceive our one and only end, sanctification, or rather, that we have to become saints in order to sanctify others. Then, like a subtle temptation, the thought may come that there are very few of us who have really taken to heart this divine invitation. Moreover, we see that those of us who have are instruments of very little worth. It is true. We are few in comparison with the rest of mankind, and of ourselves we are worth nothing. But our master's affirmation resounds with full authority. Christians are the light, the salt, the leaven of the world, and a little leaven leavens the whole patch. That is precisely why I have always thought that we are interested in each and every person. Out of a hundred souls, we are interested in a hundred. We discriminate against no one, for we know for certain that Jesus has redeemed us all, and he wishes to make use of a few of us, despite our personal nothingness, to make his salvation known to all. Take a few moments now to quietly reflect on this message. Grant that I too may learn to turn all the circumstances and events of my life into occasions of loving you and serving the Church, the Pope, and all souls with joy and simplicity, lighting up the pathways of this earth with faith and love. Then to grant me through the intercession of Saint Josemaria the favor of take a few moments to share your intentions with our Lord. Amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. World without end, amen. Saint Jose Maria, pray for us.
