Through the Novena to St. Josemaria, we hope to be reminded of the meaning and importance that God’s will for us is that we be saints. And, we turn to the intercession of St. Josemaria to help us renew and strengthen our personal goal of holiness.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Lead a life worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory. Saint Jose Maria writes in Friends of God. I wish to continue this conversation with our Lord with an observation I made use of years ago, but which is just as relevant today. I had no remarks of St. Teresa of Avila. All that passes away and is not pleasing to God is worth nothing and less than nothing. Now, do you understand why a soul loses all sense of peace and serenity when it turns away from its goal and forgets that it was created by God to be a saint? Strive never to lose this supernatural outlook, not even at times of rest or recreation, which are as important in our daily lives as its work itself. You can climb to the top of your profession, you can gain the highest acclaim as a reward for your freely chosen endeavors in temporal affairs. But if you abandon the supernatural outlook that should inspire all our human activities, you will have gone sadly astray. Take a few moments now to quietly reflect on this message. O God, through the intermediation of Mary, our mother, you granted your priest, Saint Josemaria, countless graces, choosing him as a most faithful instrument to found Opus Dei, a way of sanctification in daily work and in the fulfillment of the Christians' ordinary duties. Grant that I too may learn to turn all the circumstances and events of my life into occasions of loving you and serving the Church, the Pope, and all souls with joy and simplicity, lighting up the pathways of this earth with faith and love. Then to grant me through the intercession of Saint Josemaria the favor of take a moment to share your intentions with our Lord. Amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. World without end. Amen. Saint Jose Maria, pray for us.
