Welcome to Living Vegas with Chris and Ginger. Now let's shuffle up and talk.
SPEAKER_01Hi everyone. Welcome to Chris and Ginger Living Vegas. We have two segments to this podcast. We have a personal segment and a Vegas segment. And today, for our personal segment, but not too personal, we have our stagation.
SPEAKER_00Why do you have to put me on the spot?
SPEAKER_01All right, let me do this again, guys. Hi, everyone. Welcome to Chris and Ginger's Living Vegas podcast. We are Las Vegas locals and we uh love living in Las Vegas, and our podcasts have two segments. The segments are a personal segment, but not too personal, and a Vegas segment. And today for our personal segment, we are gonna talk about class reunion, a class reunion that we're going to attend. Yeah, a lot of people are like, oh, a class reunion, so those are so stupid. I would never go to my class reunion or oh yay, a class reunion. So everybody has a different feeling about their class reunion.
SPEAKER_00Is it your reunion or is it mine?
SPEAKER_01We are going to your class reunion.
SPEAKER_00Look at that.
SPEAKER_01And folks, we went to high school in San Diego area. We live in Las Vegas. I've lived here almost 40 years. But we went to high school and we grew up in San Diego area.
SPEAKER_00We're in the same geometry class. I was the top of my class. Maybe not. Um Ginger was like a sophomore. I was a senior and she ran circles around me. So you know, I should have bugged you for like doing my homework for me. Would you have done that? Because I was a big senior. You would have done whatever I told you, right?
SPEAKER_01No, I wouldn't have. But my son got off got off. We're getting off topic. The topic is class reunion.
SPEAKER_00Oh, well, that's still high school and it's related to the topic.
SPEAKER_01And you know what was really fun is on our live stream recently we were talking about the class reunion, and there were people that were like, I would have nothing to do with my class reunion. How do you feel about your class reunion?
SPEAKER_00No, I I had a great experience in high school. I had lots of great friends, and uh excuse me, were they male or female? Well, both. You were one of my friends. You're a female.
SPEAKER_01All right. My husband here dated quite a few women in his class. So the class reunion, I expect to meet many women that dated my husband when he they were in high school. But it was a little while ago, so I'm okay with that.
SPEAKER_00I have uh no recollection of that happening, so you can't prove it. Okay. Just kidding. Apparently, I dated a few ladies, and yeah, it's okay.
SPEAKER_01I only know what you tell me, babe.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Well, I told you the truth. But yeah, I'm looking forward.
SPEAKER_01So you did not date.
SPEAKER_00No, I dated a lot, so yeah, it was great.
SPEAKER_01He wants to he wants okay. I'm gonna tell you guys, we do not have a script.
SPEAKER_00We no kidding.
SPEAKER_01We do I do not what's know what's coming out of his mouth.
SPEAKER_00I don't know what's coming out of my mouth.
SPEAKER_01So right. So we will not stop this so that we can hash it out. We will hash it out right here with y'all. Oh, I love it. So give me a story or something. Tell me, because we only know me and everybody listening only know what you tell us. This is your class reunion, it is not mine.
SPEAKER_00So I don't I don't want to divulge what year reunion this is.
SPEAKER_01Okay, no, I don't care.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's many, many years ago.
SPEAKER_01They can figure it out. It's our hundredth class reunion.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's not quite that bad, but it's uh it's close. Um but yeah, I'm I'm looking forward to seeing friends of old. Um, we were a big class, so it's kind of I'm a little bit anxious because there's so many different people that I don't even I wouldn't I mean you have the issue at a reunion of what the person looked like when they were in high school versus what they look like today. That's if you knew them. So then there's the whole group of people I never even knew in high school that look completely different than what they look like back then. So I'm doubly clueless as to who these people are, what so the good thing is they'll have their class picture on their ID badge. And so the first thing I'm doing is look, I'm not looking them in the eye and going, hi, Bill. I'm gonna be looking hi. Oh, your name is Steve. Hi, Steve. I don't remember you at all, you know, many years ago, but nice to see you here. And then I'm gonna move on to the next person that hopefully somebody I can find that.
SPEAKER_01Okay, we're taking a lot of time and spending money, and we're gonna go down and we're gonna say hi to a whole bunch of people that we don't know and we don't recognize. All right, let me say this, guys. Um, I did go to my 25th class reunion. That is the only class reunion reunion that I have attended thus far. I would like to attend another class reunion, which hopefully we will. Um, so when I attended my 25th class reunion, and I don't know, maybe some of you guys like care about this topic, maybe you don't, but let me just share this with you. I met some really cool people that I am still friends with now at the 25th class reunion that I did not hang out with in high school, but but they were really nice. Um like Dwayne Parker, Karen, like I have a whole bunch of people that are my friend now.
SPEAKER_00I'm sorry, I thought we were talking about my reunion.
SPEAKER_01So I so what I'm saying, babe, is yes, you're saying that you didn't know them and this and that. There are a lot of people that I well, we're talking about class reunions, baby.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01It's not all about you. I thought it was all about you?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Because it always is all about me.
SPEAKER_01All right, so so yes. Um, the funny thing though, when I went to my class reunion is I didn't know, but um I got an award for most changed. And I thought that was weird. I was like, how have I changed? And I guess maybe I changed because I moved and was affected by Vegas or something. I don't know. How about you? When you went, you how many of your class reunions have you gone to before now, babe?
SPEAKER_00Uh just two. The 20th and the one after that.
SPEAKER_0120th and the 21st?
SPEAKER_00No, 20th and the 40th.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Um, so how were those?
SPEAKER_00Uh 20th was weird. It was more about uh what have you accomplished, what what's your job, how much have you achieved, you know. Oh, so it was a big competition of I've done this, I've done that. I don't like that.
SPEAKER_01That's that's that's not good.
SPEAKER_00That wasn't fun. It was a lot of measuring up of each other. And uh by the 40th, it was a lot more people just comfortable being who they were, and their accomplishments were already, you know, they've moved past all of that. They're just happy to see people that they haven't seen for many, many years. So that was more of a casual, more, far more enjoyable reunion. Um, and I expect this one will be that way as well. It um because it's really not about who you are or don't you know who I am? That that's not the bottom. Okay, a lot of your nobody cares who I am.
SPEAKER_01I know, I know. Um, but it should be about just uh enjoying seeing people that you share roots with, you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and that's why I've kind of organized a uh separate reunion, the pre-reunion, and this is uh breaking news for those who are the reunion planners. Last year, I last reunion of the 40th, anyway, that I went to, the 40th reunion, I did this same thing. I got my buddies all together, and we went to a separate venue hours before the real reunion. And my buddies, most of them don't want to set foot in an actual reunion. They don't really like the people that they went to high school with, they don't care to see them, they don't want to talk to them, but they will, you know, climb a mountain to get to hang out with the rest of his uh us buddies. So um we created a reunion before the reunion, and boy, the reunion committee, I heard, was not happy about that. So this is breaking news. And if any of those ladies who are working so hard to do the reunion um find out about this, they might be ticked to me, but that's okay. We're doing a reunion again two hours before the reunion. I I sense you want to say something, baby. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and you know what? The reunion ladies should embrace you and thank you because you are getting people out of their homes to come to the reunion that wouldn't normally come to the reunion. They will probably I'm hoping that the ones come to your reunion, your pre-reunion, whatever we're calling it, that they will go to the reunion as well.
SPEAKER_00Um, no, most of them won't. Uh a few of them will. A few of them have told me they're gonna go to both, but most of them will will not.
SPEAKER_01But you encourage them.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, yeah, of course. And they they looked at me and said, you know, are you kidding? You know, I will never go there. So most of them will not, but uh a few of them will be going for sure. Well and as far as the ladies of the committee embracing me, yeah, yeah, they're gonna embrace me. Most of them I dated. Boom! There's the drum hit. There we go.
SPEAKER_01Okay, and you know what? The women that are putting, and it's women, it's not the I don't I haven't seen any men involved in it. The women that are putting this reunion together are doing an incredible job. There will be well over a hundred people attending, correct?
SPEAKER_00Yes, at this point it's like 107, and then they're probably more now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I and that's really good because you know, um some of the Yeah, it's because we're not dead.
SPEAKER_00That's good. That's good because you're alive, yeah. And they're coming, so that's good.
SPEAKER_01That's good. Alive is good. And honestly, guys, folks out there listening, I really think that you should give it, you know, maybe a just a chance. Um uh because you know, we only live once and we're still alive. And because I I kind of felt that way too. I was kind of anti um uh anti-uh class reunion. I kind of had that vibe going on because I was so much into living my life and getting everything done. And I had moved away from this city that I went to high school in, and I was like, yeah, I actually was, you know, very involved in the school and activities. I was uh captain of a couple things and president of a couple things and all that good stuff because I was very involved in my in the school that we went to. I loved it, but I'm not one of those people that really likes to compete, like say, yeah, I'm the like you said, the measuring up. Well, I've done this, well, I've done that. Well, you know what? I I I don't really want to go there and do that with you all, but I want to go there and really enjoy you guys and and and have some fun. And and it really was. So my point was, I'm sorry I went the long way on that, was it was a nice time, and I made lifelong friends, and um, they come and visit now in Vegas. Um, but I would say the majority stayed around that area. What do you think, babe?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think so. Um seems like a lot of the classes uh from um our our high school in San Diego, most of them stayed in the area, it seems like. So yeah, I don't know what that's all about. They must really love San Diego, but yeah, I mean, as cities go, that's I think that's normal.
SPEAKER_01I think most people stay where they grow up. A lot of people don't move away. Um, but uh in our case, both uh Chris and I, we did, and we we are here, and we are Chris in Ginger Vegas, and thank you for listening to this. Is there anything else you want to talk about in this personal segment?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there was one um so uh we were reading in the uh the flyer for the event about the dress code. It was kind of interesting that they chose so the origin the original dress code was just simply California casual. So whatever that is, that to me again is you know, some guy wearing some shorts and a Tommy Bahama shirt or whatever, and they feel like they're dressed up. Um, but they what did they say? It was like uh California Casual with a touch of glam. I'm like, what?
SPEAKER_01Um well you know, thank you for giving me permission.
SPEAKER_00Appreciate that, but yeah, we're gonna be who we are.
SPEAKER_01We are gonna be who we are. Everyone should be who they are. It doesn't matter what you do, what your vibe is. Rock your vibe. Rock your vibe. Don't don't be something that you're gonna be. Give them something to talk about.
SPEAKER_00We're just gonna be who we are.
SPEAKER_01All right. So um uh looking forward to it though.
SPEAKER_00It should be a blast.
SPEAKER_01It will be a blast. I look forward to meeting the many women that you dated in high school. And babe, even though you were two years ahead of me, I can tell you I did not date anybody from your class.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's good. I'd hate to have to hurt one of those guys. So, you know, why I would have to, I have no idea.
SPEAKER_01No, it doesn't super excited.
SPEAKER_00I think it's gonna be uh it's gonna be interesting. It'll be fun to see how uh hopefully there's no drama, no no uh chaos. There shouldn't be. It's just just be a bunch of people who are glad to see each other.
SPEAKER_01And all right, folks, I'm gonna tell you there's probably gonna be some drama, and um we're gonna probably address that in a future podcast. Um because uh there's a lot of stories behind the scene, and even though we're trying to be up close and personal and share this stuff with you, we can't share everything right now, but we will probably share more with you. There's kind of like some long stories.
SPEAKER_00If that one lady who in the 40th reunion said to me, give us a kiss, when I first saw her, I'm like, who, wait, who's us, number one? It's just you, and number two, I don't kiss anybody else but my wife. And so I don't know what this give us a kiss thing is about. I hope that doesn't happen again.
SPEAKER_01Right. But guys, okay, so I was two classes behind Chris, and there might be some crossovers with me and your class and some people in your class, even though I didn't date any of the guys. I did not date any of the ladies either.
SPEAKER_00That's good.
SPEAKER_01But um, there's just gonna be hopefully it'll be very nice, and we'll have positive things to say. And um uh, you know what? For no other reason, go to your class reunions to to, you know, they won't recognize you. The uh and it'll be just a fun to give you something to talk about, you know? Give them something to talk about and make some new friends because they're they're and if I'm still alive after this event, then I will recommend the same.
SPEAKER_00So it should be a good thing.
SPEAKER_01Well, you've got a lot to worry about because you have a lot of history, but you know what? Let's move on because we are Chris and Ginger of Vegas and we love living in Las Vegas, and I want to get to our second segment, babe.
SPEAKER_00All right, let's go.
SPEAKER_01Whew.
SPEAKER_00Do you want me to introduce it? Is that what that means?
SPEAKER_01If you want.
SPEAKER_00Well, our Vegas segment is talking about our recent and more favorite stacations. We do a lot of staycations. Um, we've mentioned this before, about 90 to 100 days a year. We are in a casino, uh, staying in some of the nicer suites, uh, courtesy of our hosts and primarily MGM properties, but we love others as well. Um and sometimes those are surrounding activities like a slot tournament, right, babe?
SPEAKER_01Right. Um uh quite often um our hosts will uh hook us up with with a slot tournament, and we will stay at, for example, we will stay at the the Luxor, and then we will play a slot tournament at New York, New York. Slot tournaments are very fun. If you don't know what a slot tournament tournament is, check out one of our videos because we've done videos on slot tournaments.
SPEAKER_00And we've done live streams too, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And we don't we like we love to live stream them. They are the fun and funniest thing you've ever seen if you've never seen one. But favorite staycations, because remember, they're like 30 minutes for us from home. 30 minutes, and um, and we just get to have a wonderful vacation. Some of my faves are um, of course, the the MGM properties like Bellaggio, um, Aria Cosmo, Mandalay Bay, those are all winners. But we also love the Venetian and Palazzo. Those are so right up there, and then we also um Resorts World is a fun place too. Also, Resorts World is fun. But even like off strip, we like Red Raw, Green Valley Ranch, the rampart, which is also known as The Inn at Summerlin. The Inn at Summerlin. I have they changed the name. It's kind of hard to keep up with that. It's in the Summerlin area.
SPEAKER_00Do I have that right? Is that the inn or is it the resort at Summerlin area? It's the resort at Summerlin. It's like that's what you said before. Why do I keep getting that wrong?
SPEAKER_01It's tough. It's a tough one.
SPEAKER_00The resort at Summerlin. Right.
SPEAKER_01So, what do we like about our staycation? So there are a lot of locals that live here in Las Vegas and they don't do staycations. Like our neighbors, we love our neighbors. We live in a very nice neighborhood with very nice neighbors and quiet neighbors. And they our neighbors across the street are wonderful, and they take care of and feed our tortoise babies when we are gone. Best neighbors ever. And I I think sometimes they think that we're probably, you know, crazy or something because we're constantly on the go.
SPEAKER_00I think there's a lot of people who think we're crazy, but that's okay.
SPEAKER_01And we we don't care, it's fine. We probably are.
SPEAKER_00We have a crazy, we have a crazy fun life. So haters gonna hate. That's fine.
SPEAKER_01Right. And and we're we we just have so much fun. So, what is it that we do when we're at a state case show? We do the slot tournaments, but also guys, it's so funny because a lot of the time, and when I look in our our phone calendar, uh, you know, I'm booking uh appointments, whether they're hair, skin, you know, with aesthetician, facial, nails, um, doctor's appointments, all of those things get booked. And then we start put layering big the staycations over it. And the most of the time the staycations run about three nights on the average. Every once in a while we'll have a two-nighter or a four nighter. Or a four nighter. But the typical ones are four days and three nights, or five days and three nights, um, the the two half days. Um, but we love them and we don't we don't always plan. We only we kind of go by the seat of our pants because we just have fun with it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, to illustrate that point about the seat of the pants thing, we uh we had plans originally to be in Colorado for Memorial Day, and it turned out that we ended up um not going there. So at the very last minute, literally the day before the Memorial Day weekend, we reached out to our MGM host and said, Hey, can you hook us up with a room somewhere? We'd love to enjoy the vibe on the strip with everybody who's out for Memorial Day. And he got us a wonderful um executive king suite at MGM Grand, and it was wonderful.
SPEAKER_01Nice, and he says one lap done, I'm gonna get it for you.
SPEAKER_00So that is the value, besides just the personal connection with our host, and he's like a family member, but that's the value of that relationship is being able to, in a pinch when you really need something, reaching out to him and having him deliver. It's really a special thing. And he doesn't he can't do that for everyone, but he you definitely did it for us.
SPEAKER_01Right. He and you know, I think he probably does his best for all of his clients. And honestly, guys, when we we the reason, how do I say it? The reason that we get what we get from our hosts is because we play a lot. And we play, we a lot of the time we play a lot, and we say we and and we we say that we're playing for our hosts, we're playing for Nick. Yeah, we're playing for our host, and um, and I guess that's kind of like uh what's the the right word? Um we ra we rationalize why we're playing. We we say, well, I'm playing. It's okay, I can drop some more money because uh because we're doing it for for our hosts. Yeah, you know. Just saying.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, um yeah, I don't know. I had a point I was gonna make. So yeah, we we end up um playing um probably more than maybe we I don't know, that's not really true. We we play what we want to play and we keep our host in mind and we do the best we can, but it's really all about just having that connection and he takes care of us, we take care of him. Oh, I I knew what I was gonna say. It was I knew if I just kept babbling, it would come to me. Um we give MGM properties and a lot of other properties free advertising. We we do room reviews, we do restaurant reviews, we do lots of um, you know, just advertising of their strengths as a property, and and I think that's that's worth something too.
SPEAKER_01And you know what's fun, guys? Before we go, we have a staging rack in our bedroom. We have a huge closet, and we want to share all of this with you guys sometime because it's just really, you know, fire. It's really lit.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01It's really fun. I don't know how to say it's just like a rocks, it's really cool. Whatever, whatever adjective you want to use there. We have a staging area, so we'll be um the staging rack in our bedroom is is a permanent structure, and it is there because we are constantly on the go. So we pull the suitcases in every not permanent, it's on wheels. It's on wheels, okay.
SPEAKER_00It's not permanent, but it feels like it's permanent because it's Always there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because it's always there. So we it's just to say it's kind of funny. So let me just give you a story of how it goes down. All right. The morning of the staycation is a lot of people when they're going to go on a vacation, they pack like, you know, they start packing away in advance. We don't really, we kind of we kind of like Chris will have his part of the rack that is his clothes. He says, these are the shirts that I'd like to bring. So then I coordinate and I grab, you know, and I align all my dresses that will coordinate with his shirts because we always coordinate when we dress, but we also want to have options. We want to have casual. We want to have up and casual for Chris and I, I have learned because I have told friends, oh, we're gonna dress casual. And we show up and we are dressed when what we think is casual, kind of like what we are right now. This is casual. And they are extremely casual, like shorts and a t-shirt, yeah, shorts and a t-shirt type type of thing. Like they look like they're like, yeah, I don't want to say too much. Okay, so um uh so everything is different. But anyway, so what happens is in the morning before we are going to go do a one o'clock check-in, Chris wheels the suitcases in, opens them up, sets them on the bed. We immediately start throwing all of our things that we always throw in the suitcases, get our matching outfits, put them in the suitcases, and um we kind of like or do we have any any special events? Like, are we going to a special dinner or a concert or anything special? So we we we align all of that, and then we really we pack really quick. Then we have our extra suitcase, extra bags. They're not suitcases, extra bags. We'll have a pool bag during the summertime because we enjoy the pools. The pools are so fun, guys. Whether it's a lazy river or a wave pool, it's just a beautiful pool environment. Um, and then we also have a bag that is our fun bag.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So we put drink glasses in there because a lot of the places we stay in, for some reason, don't have nice wine glasses. So we'll throw a couple beautiful wine glasses in there. We'll put in uh a couple bottles of wine, some sambuka or whatever we want to drink, and some snacks.
SPEAKER_01Yes. So we load up our snacks, we load up our alcohol, and my husband is so bougie, he doesn't want to use their glasses, he wants to use ours. I love it, baby. I love that you're bougie. I love it.
SPEAKER_00If it's if we're staying at the Venetian or the wind, they always have nice wine glasses. Everyone else, yeah, not so much.
SPEAKER_01Because we don't want to drink wine out of a glass that's not a white noodle.
SPEAKER_00It's the same glass that's sitting in next to your sink that they give you. I don't like that. It's a drink that you're gonna wash out your mouth after brushing your teeth. That's just not the same.
SPEAKER_01I know that a couple of places had plastic glasses. Whoa.
SPEAKER_00That was not good.
SPEAKER_01What kind of snacks do we bring, babe? What do we like for snacks?
SPEAKER_00Well, my recent obsession is popcorners. I love popcorners, the what is it, white cheddar, and I also love now the car the uh caramel corn version. It is the the texture of of popcorners is just insane, and they're very addictive. It's so appropriate that uh Walter White and Jesse were the commercial guys promoting popcorners uh from the Breaking Bad era because it is it is very addictive. It feels like crack or whatever.
SPEAKER_01And um, and this is not a commercial, it's just what we put on our fun bag. Yeah, but you like that beef jerky stuff too. What is that?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's uh Waigu uh beef jerky at Costco that I love. It's teriyaki and it is and it's pretty pricey, but it is worth every penny because it is insanely good.
SPEAKER_01And a couple of notes on um that. I don't care for the popcorners and I don't care for the beef jerky, so it works out fantastic because I don't he does not have to worry about me eating his sneaky snacks. But I have my own sneaky snacks, which are normally mixed nuts. And um, what else do I like, babe?
SPEAKER_00Uh ruffles potato chips.
SPEAKER_01I like potato chips. I love the ruffles potato chips.
SPEAKER_00That's your jam.
SPEAKER_01A little salt with my wine, yep. And sambuka.
SPEAKER_00So we we have, to your point, I mean, we have the whole packing process down. Oh, it's fast.
SPEAKER_01Fast, fast.
SPEAKER_00We have exactly what we always bring. And the unpacking is probably more impressive because once we get to the room, everything is laid out on the bed. We unpack in a matter of minutes, and before you know it, we're pouring a glass of wine and enjoying some snacks and then just chilling out and recovering from the rush to get it checked in and get it into the room. Yeah. And then we're ready to go down to the floor and play some slots.
SPEAKER_01And one of my hints, if you're a traveler, uh, one thing that that we and and you picked it up from me, is I will take the clothes on the rack on the hangers, and I smoosh, I just smoosh the hangers together, and then I roll it over. Like I fold them and then I stick them in the suitcase. So without I just take them out, I unfold them and I hang them up. And uh, we love to hang up our clothes and put things in the drawers. A lot of people that travel and do the stacations or vacations or whatnot, they don't put their things in drawers in the in the hangers.
SPEAKER_00I never used to do that. I I always hung stuff, but I never would stick stuff in the drawers. I would leave everything in the suitcase and pull it out as I needed it.
SPEAKER_01Right. And we don't, we do the other way. We we move in in less than five minutes. Seriously, it takes about three minutes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And then we take the suitcases, put them out of the way so we're not looking at them, and then we pour a drink. So we always what we call pre-board. We pre-board and then we celebrate, we go down to the casino and have a good time.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_01All right, so yes, go ahead.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, uh, some of the other best uh or most fun things to do on a vacation, right? Um, one of my favorites, of course, is the next morning.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00After we've played all night and had a great time. Breakfast with my wife.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. And that is something that I think, you know, a lot of time people like I've told I've gone with friends, and in the morning I said, Well, I want to really go have breakfast. Oh, they've got a good cheap coffee at the gas station. I'm like, what? I'm like, no, I want the experience.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, um, so like whether we're at the Venetian or wherever we're we're at, uh, Venetian was our most uh we were at the Plaza most recently, and we love the uh oh crap, what's it called?
SPEAKER_01Grand Cafe?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Grand Lux Cafe, thank you.
SPEAKER_01Grand Lux Cafe.
SPEAKER_00So you had half of it.
SPEAKER_01We like the Grand Lux Cafe, but I even more than that, like Aria has their um um oh we didn't have the names of these places. What's the name of that breakfast place that that we go outside?
SPEAKER_00Oh the oh yeah, I don't know the name of that place.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's uh it's a beautiful outdoor place. It's right upstairs by the it's right upstairs by the um um the food court right, but it's outdoors. So it's like a uh anyway, so that's at Aria. I love that. We have our favorite places everywhere we go.
SPEAKER_00Sadell's at uh Bellagio.
SPEAKER_01Sadell's, oh my gosh. Sadell's at Bellaggio is so great. And a lot of the the interesting thing about a lot of these casinos, they have the breakfast places that they have are even at MGM Graham, they're they're open from like seven to like two or three. Yeah, like they're only open for breakfast and lunch, and they're really nice a lot of the time. They have the outdoor area. Um Cosmo, what do we like to do for breakfast at the Cosmo, baby?
SPEAKER_00Um, we have that one little place that is the coffee place and the um, I mean, they have Starbucks that we use sometimes. Starbucks will get a uh double smoked bacon and uh and our drinks.
SPEAKER_01If we do that, but there's that other thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, both of us, both of us do not function well prior to coffee, but there is a literal time clock that is going off in my brain from the moment Ginger wakes up to the moment she has her first sip of coffee. I'm on a clock. I know there's only so much time before she's uh something could go sideways if I'm not, if I don't get her some caffeine quickly. Yeah, you're an angel in the morning, yes. So we try to get to a breakfast venue as quick as possible. So where are we going next? We're going to Luxor.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Luxor, Luxor. We have a nice cafe there. Like it's called Paradise Cafe. Or is that what it's called?
SPEAKER_00I think so.
SPEAKER_01Something like that. And it's just right down there, has little lights all around it. It's so good. I love their food. That's a great service, it's good. It's a really great little place. Luxor, we go to in a few days because we have a tournament, right?
SPEAKER_00Right. We're gonna stay at that uh same uh Luxor King suite. What is that tower suite?
SPEAKER_01Oh, that was really nice. Check out that room review if you if you get a chance, guys. I want to say it's what what what's really strange because we we as I said, we have all of our appointments, life appointments that we all make in life. We have those set, and then we layer on top of those the staycations as we want to do them. And personally, I, you know, I mean, we have a beautiful home. I love our home. Right now, we're in our home, we're in our living room right now. Um I feel like this time of year, I want to say spring and summer and fall. Three seasons, uh, not so much during the winter, but still during the winter. Um uh right now we are having an extra heavy flow of staycations. So if we're home for a week or 10 days, I feel that's a long time at home. And boom, we're out again and we're staying somewhere. And um, and it's wonderful because if we need to come home, it's a 30-minute drive, sometimes 20, 20 minutes, and we drive home, take care of business, and then we go back. Or I might have a doctor's appointment, and I I have done this before, whether it's a facial hair appointment, doctor's appointment from the Cosmo or Bellagio, I go to my appointment and I come right back because it's part of our life.
SPEAKER_00Right. So, in the order of things we love to do, you know, slots, probably going and playing together, slots or blackjack time out, time on the casino.
SPEAKER_01Time out, yeah, slots, yes. However, currently, because I normally Ginger loves her poker and normally plays once a week is my poker schedule now. But right now, right now, it's World Series of Poker is going on. So I am playing World Series of Poker like four days a week. And so right now, it's a little bigger, even though if we're if I'm gonna drive from our staycation to we're uh horseshoe to play WSOP, horseshoe or pairs.
SPEAKER_00So whether we're out of staycation or not, poker is the deal. Uh if poker's not in the picture, so it's slots and blackjack and all of that, and then there is our breakfast and our dinner times. We love those. Followed closely behind by shopping. Ah, shopping, and I would play shopping ahead of pool time because we we like our pool time, but um we like, I mean, if we're at the Palazzo Venetian, we love the canal shops and going checking all that stuff out um before we'll go to the pool. In fact, this last staycation, we didn't even make it to the pool. We just we went shopping a lot, we never made it to the pools.
SPEAKER_01Wandering through the canal shops is like a walk in Italy.
SPEAKER_00Italy, yeah, Philadelphia.
SPEAKER_01In Venice. You're walking down the streets and you hear the gondola singers sing and bellowing, and you see the beautiful sky and the water, and the beautiful shops and beautiful places to eat at.
SPEAKER_00And all the dollar bills in the water. And the coins that the people coin we even saw a credit card in the water. There, yeah, that's people just throwing dollar bills and coins and credit cards in the water. I guess that gives them good luck.
SPEAKER_01You know, and it's really nice. Um, I was um the the the gondola shops and all of the shops, Miracle Miles shops. Um, and and if if we're staying at one place, oh oh oh guys, okay, we have a birthday stay coming up, and we're gonna stay at Cosmo. So just like in this one month, I feel like we've got Venetian, Luxor, Cosmo, uh, I don't even know what else. Palazzo, it's like so much just in one little, one little like one month stay. But um, we are super excited and we're gonna check it out. I'd love to do a live stream. There's a brand new mall on the strip called Boulevard Mall. Just opening. Okay, what is our most we are so excited about this new mall. They have everything HM, Lululemon. They have all these really cool stores that I like in on a Boulevard mall. It's B L V in highlights for Las Vegas and then D Boulevard shops. Um, it's right across the street from the Cosmo. But what are you? Right across from the Aria, which is right next door to the Cosmo. It's all right there together. And what is it that we're most excited about, baby?
SPEAKER_00In N Out Burger, baby. The biggest one in the on the planet.
SPEAKER_01Yes!
SPEAKER_00With an overarching view of the entire strip. It's way up at the top. So it's gonna be a beautiful view of the strip, and it's gonna be great food, and we're gonna eat there. I think that might be my birthday dinner. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I thought there was a restaurant we were gonna go to for your birthday. There was somewhere we're gonna.
SPEAKER_00You know what? Last time I checked, it's my birthday. So I get to choose.
SPEAKER_01But I thought that there was one that you said you'd have to do it. Yeah, I know, but I might choose. In and out. We'll do in and out for your birthday.
SPEAKER_00Maybe we'll do that in the daytime and we'll do regular dinner somewhere else. I don't know where we we didn't choose a birthday dinner last time.
SPEAKER_01I thought we did. I thought we we were like, oh yeah, that's good.
SPEAKER_00John George's?
SPEAKER_01Uh no, I don't think that's what we said.
SPEAKER_00I don't oh spago at uh SPO at the Loggio.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we have to see if our host can get us a good reservation. There's spago's. The reason that we prefer our host to get our reservations because he gets us really like a really great table on the water. He gets he does a really good job because he has a lot of clout.
SPEAKER_00Yep. And um we should reach out to him soon if we're gonna do that. Right. I'm just not 100% sure that's what I want to do. We'll see.
SPEAKER_01Well, you've got to be make sure that's what you want to do because it's your birthday, baby.
SPEAKER_00That's right, babe. But anyway, so um, after the Luxor, we're gonna follow that up with uh, like we said, the uh Palazzo, then we're gonna go to Mandalay Bay in July for another slot tournament.
SPEAKER_01Uh lots of slot tournaments here, guys. Okay, now that let's just talk about slot tournament for a minute because the slot tournaments, people are like, oh, those are such a ripoff slots. You don't pay anything when you enter a slot tournament.
SPEAKER_00At least we don't. Our host sets us up and we don't pay for it.
SPEAKER_01So you don't buy most people do not buy into the slot tournament. Check with the um rewards desk or any hosts and see about getting set up for the slot tournament. And what you receive from the slot tournament is free slot play. Yeah. So it's a win-win. It's fun and fun.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_01Fun and funner.
SPEAKER_00More funner than fun. So yeah, we like the slot tournaments. We uh we think there's a real level of excitement that we do. We do some live streams when we do them, and it is a blast. And sometimes we, I mean, the biggest free play I ever got was $4,500 at the Resorts World. Resorts World, yeah. We finished 11th out of I don't know how many people. That's a lot of people. I haven't been anywhere close since. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01How much?
SPEAKER_00$4,500.
SPEAKER_01$4,500. Woo-hoo. That's a lot.
SPEAKER_00Typically, it's a couple hundred bucks.
SPEAKER_01Baby, I'm just gonna ask you this question: what is your very favorite place for a staycation? It's very hard, guys.
SPEAKER_00It's the Cosmo.
SPEAKER_01Okay, why?
SPEAKER_00Because of the terrace. We get to sit out on the terrace overlooking the Bellagio fountains, have a nice glass of wine, and just feel the pulse of the city and see the beauty of it all.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I think what a lot of people don't realize is that the Cosmo rooms, not only are they very trendy and very hip and fun, they're beautiful, but you walk out onto the patio, the veranda, the terrace, there is a couch, and then there is also a chair. Um, so you've got tables and chairs, and there's um it always throws me off because I'm like, this is kind of weird because like somebody could like jump if they wanted to, you know. So a lot of most of the time the casinos have their windows, so you can't open them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, but but they have it, then they have the big metal bar and the glass, so you can sit there on the couch and look out through the glass and see, and then they have the partitions between the rooms, so you don't see and you don't really hear what's going on. We we smell a lot of weed and we get a contact tie when we're out. I literally get quite often.
SPEAKER_00You get the sights, the sounds, and the smells, yeah, unfortunately. Um, but yeah, it's a good good place to go. Love it. Um, looking forward to my birthday there and going to the the uh chandelier bar. That's one of our favorite places.
SPEAKER_01Oh, we love noose, our bartender noose. We love noose chandelier bar. If you haven't checked out the Cosmo Chandelier bar, it's three floors. It's like having a cocktail inside a ginormous chandelier. Super cool.
SPEAKER_00And we'll see if I can uh deliver another major on my birthday like I did last year.
SPEAKER_01I wish you a grand favorite.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that would even be better. But yeah, we've won more majors at the Cosmo than any other place in Vegas. So not even close.
SPEAKER_01If you were to ask me what my favorite is, I what is your favorite, babe? Uh I it's very, very hard because we love these rooms so very, very much and the different locations. Um I am partial to Aria, the MGM properties. So I kind of feel like it's between, you know, it's really a con I just can't even pick. So between Aria and Bellaggio. But uh the reason that Mandalay Bay is one of my faves is because we were married there.
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_01Bellaggio is one of my faves because you proposed to me at Prime.
SPEAKER_00So many memories.
SPEAKER_01So many. And guess what, guys? If you if you're interested in seeing what the actual visual is on it, we have videos on it, so just go to our channel, check out the our our YouTube channel, and check out the uh videos because we have over 2,000.
SPEAKER_00The proposal's a short, but the rest of the video.
SPEAKER_01Uh there's a short and a video on the proposal. Oh, is there? Yeah, I did both. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We only did a short.
SPEAKER_01No, there's also a video on it, and um, as well as our wedding.
SPEAKER_00Oh, the wedding, I definitely knew it was a video.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So we really enjoy you guys um uh listening and hanging out, and really wish we could do live um live uh when we might do a couple of live uh live streams, uh not podcasts, because it's kind of like there's different things, different ways you go about all this stuff. But it'd be nice to be able to have questions and answers. So you know what? Just drop them. Drop those questions for us. Tell us topics you want to hear us talk about, the um upcoming uh topics we have. We have personal topics like talking to your AI. We have an Alexa and a Google. Um, and we have a lot of really interesting things we'd like to share with you on conversations we have with that. We also have fast food, fast food in Vegas. All right, we touched on that because we are gonna eat it in and out on the top of the new boulevard strip mall on this Las Vegas Strip. Yep, yummy, yummy. And then we have um other things. We have other things like desert animals, desert wildlife. That's fun. We have a backyard full of wildlife, baby.
SPEAKER_00We could talk a whole nother uh baby.
SPEAKER_01Your wildlife.
SPEAKER_00Your yeah, your wildlife.
SPEAKER_01Go ahead, it just calms down. I don't know, just let it let it loose, baby. Come on. No, you're gonna behave caveman.
SPEAKER_00That's my nickname in high school. Should be hearing that a lot this uh coming reunion, and hopefully, guys, I come back alive. It'll be great.
SPEAKER_01Hopefully, um, hopefully I make new friends at your class reunion. All right, guys. And thank you to all the ladies that are putting it together. And hope you guys, if you have questions, try uh, you know, and I get it at the World Series of Poker. I've been playing a lot of poker, and once somebody knows that um that we're Chris and Ginger Vegas, because I use our chip as a chip cover and I pass them out at the table, they uh start asking me questions about well, where where's the best place for Italian food? What do you think about this casino, that one? And it's really fun. So if you have questions, you can ask us. We're out on a strip a lot, and we love Las Vegas and love sharing it with y'all.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. Until next time. Living Vegas and Christmas.
SPEAKER_01All right. Thanks for listening, guys. Baby, I love you.
SPEAKER_00Love you too. Let's go.
SPEAKER_01Let's go.
SPEAKER_00We gotta get down to the strip. Let's go.
SPEAKER_01We gotta get down to the strip. We're going to a resorts world to watch some fireworks. Fireworks. He ran off with his headphones on. All right. See you guys next time. Thanks for listening.
SPEAKER_00Adios.
