Come on the set. Come on, get on the set. Listen, this is it. We are finally on our own. This is the first episode of the Real Talk Podcast. On our own. Our first episode ever. Um, before we start, want you to follow us on socials. All we got right now is Instagram. For now. For now. It's um the RealTalk.podcast on IG. Of course, we're on YouTube at The Real Talk Podcast. And we're gonna be all over social media. We're gonna be everywhere. You can see us, hear us, feel us if you really have to. But um, of course, quiet on the set. GR, talk to me, man.
SPEAKER_00Good afternoon, good evening, good morning, whatever you want to go with. It is an honor for us to finally be off the first level to the second level. Can we get a round of applause for that, actually? Oh, absolutely. Like I'm excited for this. It's been a long time coming. I mean, we've had so many conversations over the years, and here we are finally manifesting something that's been in our minds for a long time. So I'm I'm excited.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, yes, of course. Um how was you know your time off? What you been up to? What you been getting around to? What books are you reading? What uh what shows have you been to?
SPEAKER_00Alright. Work, obviously. Um I've started my um I had this sci-fi fantasy uh type of series I want to write for Pocket FM it is. I've started that, so that's all that's a good thing. Pocket FM was that? Pocket FM. It's a app where they have these um stories. It's like basically writing um a series. Okay. They have like weekly episodes that drop from a specific author. Oh you can find uh instead of you having to read it, it actually reads it out to you. Oh and in some cases they actually have an AI um animation made for it, so you can actually watch it kind of, but it's really better if you just kind of set down your phone and listen to it. Cool, cool, which is cool because you know a lot of people don't really pick up books anymore, so it's still a good way for authors and creative writers to get there. So you're producing content on there? I'm starting to. I haven't even put anything out. Okay, but that's the next step.
SPEAKER_01Okay, cool, cool. So I started started with that.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's dope, that's dope.
SPEAKER_00Oh, well in terms of what I'm watching though, I mean we're gonna get to it, but invincible right now. Um a new episode of The Boys dropped. I did not finish it. But I'm a big fan of the boys.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna chop it up about all of that stuff. Um I didn't know that you were a fan of the boys, so I thought I was gonna have to convince you to watch two shows, which is The Boys and Euphoria. How about how do you feel about Euphoria? Um, I haven't gotten into it, to be honest. I get to convince you to watch that. Alright. Um, as for myself, you see how you didn't ask me anything. You didn't let me let me finish. So I guess, yeah. So what have you been up to? How's life? Oh, yeah. You know what's going on? I'm I'm good, man. Um, I have a new baby. I've you know, that's why I have applause, can you? I mean more life, new life. There's a crying one, um I heard that. Yeah, and then um just you know, continuing to build, I'm I'm doing a lot of um research on the director stuff because I really like I really want to. I think that's what I'm gonna do as like my sage when I enter my old man years. They don't gotta go. No, I just think that I want to give it its proper do. I want to do a you know, a good five year. I'm still debating on whether or not I want to go to like school school for it. I don't know if that's necessary in this day and age, you know, but I don't want to cheat the process. It's just like how we were talking about with the actors, like yeah, you want the guy that has gone through all the stuff to build himself, but then I also don't want to delay my progress by getting in front of some professor who's gonna tell me you're not good enough.
SPEAKER_00Well, I would say this. I would say this. Um I would say this. Now we live in a day and age where there's so much information available that you can get caught up real quick, whether it's you, whether it's uh humidity or skill share. There's so many little courses you can take. And if you have the gifts and proclivity, I think I do. I think I do.
SPEAKER_01Um it's just that you know the I'm used long in the tooth. So I gotta hurry up. Alright. Long in the tooth. I gotta get it together. Nah, man. Nah, it's it's all good. But yeah, that's pretty much it. Um, no sleep. Oh pot the pods, you know, both pods, you know. I'm having fun. I'm not gonna lie to you. I feel like a rebirth, because I'm not gonna I wanna be, you know, truthful with you know our listeners. Yeah. Um, we also have to come up with a a name for our listeners. For our listeners? Yeah, like so uh in at Gas Money, we call our listeners gas attendants.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01So, you know, we gotta brainstorm something. The studio audience. Okay. Or uh the viewers. It pretty much kind of wrote itself. Oh, come on. I think we can be a little bit more quick. Yeah, we could, for sure. The staff, the production team, the production team. Casting crew. The casting crew. Ooh, yeah. I like that. In it with us. Yeah, exactly. Because that's the whole point. Like give us suggestions what you want to talk about. Of course, you're part of the cast and the crew.
SPEAKER_00And you make this both things. There you go.
SPEAKER_01See, look how easy that was. Cast and crew. Listen. Let me see how it feels. Cast and crew. Next week on Yeah, I like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like that. And I feel like I'm like a boss or something.
SPEAKER_00That's what I'm talking about. These are the beginning stages of being in the director, man.
SPEAKER_01Got you, man. Got you. Got it. Alright, man. Enough of the small talk. I think we should start off. Let's just get into it, man. Invincible, new episode. I'll let you go first. Let's dissect this. I kind of want you to go first, but I'm gonna go first. No, I can go first. Go first. And then I'll tell you because it's gonna segue in another conversation. So, um my first takeaway, I love the oliverness of this episode. All right, yeah, I love the oliverness of this episode. I like that you said that as a dad, watching Oliver go from my dad it's the reverse, right? Because for most for most parents, you go for, especially dads, you go from being, yo, my dad is the coolest dude ever to my dad does not know what he's talking about, to my dad is the greatest man ever. I think that depends on the circumstance. But I hate it. No, but like in the perfect world, right? So with Oliver, it's I hate this dude. Like, that's how the episode starts. I don't want nothing to do with this guy. He sucks. And then slowly, like, my favorite part was when um Mark was just waking up and he was he was tight. He was like, Damn, leave. I want to see forever. I think I think he wasn't telling the truth because he made it about leaving. Right. I think it was more about I gotta shave my dad, I gotta sh shave, I gotta share my dad. Right. Mark, Mark is your son, son, son, son. Like you, you know, you can it's it's it's easy to understand that from Oliver's perspective. So when I seen him disappointed that, yo, once this nigga wakes up, I'm the stepchild again. The purple boy. Yeah. And then um I got spoiled a little bit, so I don't want to spoil the viewers, but then he started talking about this lobster. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He started talking about a lobster. But that's like in his genetic. Is it? Well, his mom is a is a bug, and but then he he hit her with I still hate it though.
SPEAKER_00But notice he was um, he was like, he kind of you know connected with Tech Knight in video games.
SPEAKER_01Yes, uh uh, but did Tech Knight look like she about to break up a happy home with Alan? Nah. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. She's mad young. How old is Alan? Nah, he's a grown man. How do you know that? He's fucking self rogan playing.
SPEAKER_00We talked about this. We're not gonna go no bon mummy. She's a little girl.
SPEAKER_01I don't know how old she is, but um, yeah, so Oliver Twist, that was Oliver was my man this episode.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I I was not high on Oliver uh before the episode. Then um I think what's gonna happen, this is just a prediction. Uh uh, Thrag, right? Oh, another thing before I get to Thrag.
SPEAKER_00Um is fading the universe.
SPEAKER_01Who's who's dude with the with the messed up eye? What's his name? Zorg or some shit like that? He got weird names. Thrag and uh General Creek Cred or Tread. Some shit like that, yeah. So my man, right? To me, he looked like he could be related to um to Oliver. I don't know if it was my TV, but his skin complexion, maybe it's my TV. Nah, it's definitely it's your TV. His skin complexion was kind of different. I was just like, I kind of noticed it. I thought they were trying to foreshadow something. Okay, okay, okay. Just take a look at it again. I'll watch it again. Yeah, and then Frag, right? Yeah, cleanest fade in the universe. Um, he's supposed to be like a light-skinned nigga. He's very he's coming off very light. He's supposed to be like But he's still a dark nigga. Okay, he's carrying around a skull. Um got hands. A little creepy. I I you see, I'm not sold. He got hand. I'm not sold under he got hands. I don't gotta be sold. I already saw. Yeah, you see, like talk to me like we watching at the same time.
SPEAKER_00I'm not sold either, but he got the clean paid in the uniform.
SPEAKER_01I'm not sold. My man Tuck Taylor ran. The smoke was there. The old nigga, the old building that nigga, he got hit. He got to business, he took his skirt off. I see I seen him put a nigga in the fiend and then finished him. Yeah, that was sick. Also, Mortal Kombat shit. My final prediction. That was sick. Is um, yeah, that dude is evil. Dadious? Yeah. He's a bad guy. I can see that. Not in this classic sense of he's a double agent. I think that niggas is gonna get to a point in the war where it's like, all right, we won. He's like, no, no. We have to exterminate these niggas. And then he's gonna try to kill Mark and um Oliver and himself. And himself, yeah. I think that is what's gonna happen. A thousand I get to think. I think this guy's evil. Like, he just we all gotta go. Yeah, we all we're we are the problem. Right. And that's such a dope character.
SPEAKER_00Sometimes it's like that.
SPEAKER_01I can't think of another one besides uh Aaron Yeager. That's kind of like very similar. Like, hey, we all we this shit just gotta stop. This whole thing, nah. Um, but yeah, coming from him, I think he's gonna. I think that plan that he came up with at the end of the episode, which let's go to Viltrum and finish it there. Yeah, I think he's bringing that shit with him. The poison. Yeah. And then he's just gonna let it up. All of us. We all just we all die. Nola, let's see you and your kids about this again.
SPEAKER_00He might not be that evil, though. He does have the voice of Optimus Prime. So really, yeah, it's the same voice. Listen again.
SPEAKER_01We must dish. Oh, he definitely sounds like and and like Optimus Prime in the live action movie is a cold nigga.
SPEAKER_00Yo, yeah.
SPEAKER_01He decides to get busy, cold nigga. That's cold nigga. Ripping people's faces off, spines. Now I know he's evil. Thank you. That that's enough for me. Exactly. That's all I needed. Um, what else? What else? Um Yeah, I think um, I think that's that's those are my predictions.
SPEAKER_00Do you want to go over what happened, you know, with well, that was the last episode, actually.
SPEAKER_01No, we did that already.
SPEAKER_00Um okay, all right. That's all you have? I think so. Obviously, jump back in whenever you're gonna do it. Yeah, yeah, no, it's it's your go. I got a lot of things to say. First of all, in the last episode, because I just caught it, you were right. The voice acting by Sandra O was amazing. And it really showed me how much the animations are lacking, because it didn't match her voice. When she punched uh Noel in the chest and hurt her hand, and she started screaming out of pain and just out of emotional pain and frustration, um, she was screaming audibly, but the animation just didn't match it.
SPEAKER_01I was like I think it's because we're spoiled. Yeah, we are spoiled. We watched too much uh Japanese animation and they know how to match. They know how to do everything. They know how to match. I I don't know uh from what the little research I did is that American animation invests in act actors, like voice actors. Yeah, they pay for stuff. And the Japanese and Koreans, they invest in the the animators. So that's the difference.
SPEAKER_05Right.
SPEAKER_01Because Invincible is like probably ten times more expensive than jujitsu kaizen.
SPEAKER_00In terms of actors.
SPEAKER_01No, just in terms of how to produce the show. Right. Because the actors are inflating the budget. And then jujitsu kaizen just looks like they're two like comparisons like that, like the animation there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so it's all the strength of the names of the actors in that show. Like you got the voice Octimus Prime, you got Sandra O, you got um Ewan from uh The Walking Dead. It's just it's it's sick. So maybe they need to dial it back a little bit, give some new actors a chance to get them.
SPEAKER_01I thought that's where careers used to go to die. What? Voice. Nah. Now it seems like you need that.
SPEAKER_00No, yeah, now you need it, but it's never been a place to die. Think about it. Like, um, what's this guy's name? God rest his soul. Um Mark Hamill? No, um James Row Jones. Oh, yeah. Start off as the well, he was been in productions. Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course. But he got he became iconic.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but I thought I thought it was because he got fat.
SPEAKER_00Like I'm I thought it was like That is Mufasi, the original Mufasa. Yeah, I know Darth Vega. Yeah, I thought it was because that's the king of Zumundo, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I hear you, but like I'm that's why I thought that. I was like, all right, come on. He can't do but yeah, the voice, yeah, but like that's that was just my opinion.
SPEAKER_00I hear you.
SPEAKER_01So you're not gonna disrespect the I am not disrespecting him. All right, that's one of the goats. But no, I'm sorry, go ahead. Tell us, tell us how you felt about the episode, gang.
SPEAKER_00But nah, I uh um I also don't like how they're doing Nolan. I guess he's I know he's on his redemption arm, but you still a Viltramite, son. Like maybe because I I really love the Viltramite idea. There to me, they represent what Saiyan's should have been. Not that not what they're into, but like this whole like, yo, we are about that action at all times. And Nolan is he's him, he's one of them. He's one of them ones to the point where conquest said, I've always liked you, I respect you. Yeah, you know, and now he's sitting here letting um what's her name, like scream him, which I get. You you love her, you know. But like, yo, chill out. You saying I'm the worst, I'm this, and alright. Come on, calm down a little bit. And the same thing goes for both of his sons, too. Listen, I understand this the story. Okay, I understand the emotionality of it. I hope you have pain. I don't like this for the character of Nolan. Okay. He is humbling himself. He even went and let the guy who who used to make his his uh costume be like, yo, I only make this for heroes.
SPEAKER_01That dude was like about to shut his pants, though.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I know when he gave started gasping, I was like, you saw you lucky though. But no, the point is that I don't like this for Nolan, but I understand it. Okay. And all men have to go through this when you have been foul. Though the the idea of you know going for redemption and making your wrongs right is huge. I just hate to see him in this position. But um, in the new episode, the first thing I want to say is I have the opposite opinion of Oliver. I thought he was being very bratty, but he is in that phase of his life, obviously. Um he's sitting here talking to his dad, like, I don't need your help training. You were getting smoked that whole thing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, no. He hasn't he hasn't really won a fight.
SPEAKER_00Conquest almost turned you into Red Mist. Yo, he was really going for the kill and you got saved. Um I like how powerful um Mark's characters begin becoming. The fact that his guts was getting ripped out continually in that war of attrition where he just choked him to death was amazing. It also shows you how powerful villager might are and they can recover. Um oh, this is what I was gonna say, and it's gonna lead off into something else. I don't like Tech Knight. I think Tech Knight represents everything wrong with hyper feminism in media. Where it's like, okay, there's this character, everyone's saying so powerful. She uh beat one of the marked variants, one of the invincible variants, right? But we never saw how she beat him. No, we just saw him floating in space. Now, based on what she's been doing against these Viltramites, I'm like I still don't see it. I don't see you just shooting bullets, and they're like, peace shooter out of here. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? And on top of that, Alan has had to safe her over and over and over. So where does this girl come in to be a weapon?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I I definitely forcing her on us. Yeah, yeah. Why do we bring her?
SPEAKER_00You know? Yeah. So with her flying around and smoking regular soldiers while Alan is getting jumped, um Oliver's almost dead, Invincible and Conquest are killing each other, and Nolan is saving everybody one at a time, she was completely unnecessary. And on top of that, she has no power. She has a machine suit that, you know, it's like she's Iron Man basically, but not as powerful.
SPEAKER_01What's the backstory? Because they went to another planet to recruit that those people. Yeah. And then they're not one of us is on Earth, but I expected it to be like one of them. She's like clearly a human. Are they human? She's regular. So I don't I don't get it.
SPEAKER_00Like her father really is a superpower. He I know he's the one building the suit and everything for her and all that, like her headquarters. I ain't gonna lie, I think they found it. Found what? The suit. You think they found it? Yeah. You know, one of those Veltramites, the female said something. What are you gonna do without this something, something on her? So it might be from a she might have found it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think she found it. Because it doesn't make any sense.
SPEAKER_00Listen, and don't get it twisted.
SPEAKER_01I'm never again that's not her dad, nigga. That's how the father. They don't look alike. I think it was blind.
SPEAKER_00She looked like her mom.
SPEAKER_01Nah, he was blonde, though.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but she looked like her mom.
SPEAKER_01It happens. It happens. I don't think that's her dad.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, yeah, that was going on. I'm not a fan of uh this type of character where you just like what are you here for? Yeah, yeah. They just need to throw a female in there, which is I'm saying it, they just gotta throw a female in there. But it's also like mocking her because she can't do anything.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they should have just made her OP.
SPEAKER_00They were gonna make a girl like? Exactly. The only other girl who could have gone there and held her own was Eve, and she's pregnant. She's pregnant, yeah. So she's out to fight, but to send this girl who can't do anything doesn't make any sense.
SPEAKER_01I think she's gonna have a moment, like even when they were showing the montage, like to your point, where they were like everybody's like one of you wanting their own uh Vilchramite. We've seen all of them get crazy. Besides her. She was just shooting regular soldiers. So who killed the Vilchamite on that planet? On which it wasn't her. She had like all of them had their own like individual fights. Yeah. And like we seen Alan punch a nigga's arm off or some crazy shit like that. We seen Battle Beast. Like, he he just licked the blood off his face. He's all he was going to the Vilchamite. Yep. And another thing I didn't like, a lot of the Vilchamites was getting packed up with black. I noticed that too. Packed up what? They were black, the ones that was getting asked. I'm telling you, I saw it. I was like, nah, come on.
SPEAKER_00What's going on? The black Vilchamite's just not. Yeah, like come on. I don't like that. I'm pretty sure Thrag might be a light-skinned.
SPEAKER_01I think he, I think he's Drake.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he does have the cleanest feet. You know, all the youth.
SPEAKER_01He's Drake. I think uh Robert Kirkman, who I believe is the writer.
SPEAKER_00So who's that skull? Lil Wayne? Who's he praying?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's Lil' his babies. Lil Wayne's one of them. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, my last point too. Um, I like what you brought up about um Oliver and um his uh dynamic with his father. Um he never had that one-on-one with his dad. No, he never had that, yeah. He's just known as the bastard child, or the second child, another mom who he only spent so much time with. Stepkid.
SPEAKER_01And then he overheard the BS his pops telling his stepmom I ain't loved, I ain't love that alien.
SPEAKER_00I love what what Nolan said though. I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he kept it. I'm just keeping it.
SPEAKER_00I didn't hurt your other mom. I loved your mom too. Yeah. And that's the realest statement he can make as a man. It's like the truth is, I loved your mom. I loved her too. All right.
SPEAKER_01Ooh, that's gonna get you in trouble, brother.
SPEAKER_00It can get you in trouble, but that's a real thing for men. The point is. So I'm going there today. Oh, let's do it. But um, what I noticed about Oliver is he's more like his father than he's like his mother. Oh, yeah. He is like, even from the beginning, when he first started getting in power, he's like, yo, why can't I kill these people? Yeah, he was killing. He killed the twins that we've been running around with for man long. Yeah, got rid of niggas. Y'all been on a show longer. Yeah, it's over for y'all. Got him out of there. But um, Mark is more like his mother. He's all he wanted to be a superhero, but you saw when he started to grow his beard. It was very Asian. That's the first time he looked Asian to me. I was like, Chinese.
SPEAKER_01The first time he looked Asian to me, the whole thing. I was like, oh yeah, they going, they're doing it. Um I did see some um racism on uh my timeline at least. Uh apparently all these characters are supposed to be white in the comics. Listen, man. Uh this is why I I like inclusion.
SPEAKER_00I like that market. I do too. Um, I like when they make it like make sense, when it does make sense. Yeah. Nolan's a dominant person. And she Oh, hold on.
SPEAKER_01What you about what you about to say?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Let me put it. I'm trying to protect you from your.
SPEAKER_00He's a dominant person. He was a writer on Earth. Yeah. She is more um of a feminine woman and she's real estate, which you have to kind of be more gun-ho. Like you have to be very so their their um characters actually mesh perfectly.
SPEAKER_01Uh I thought you was about to say because she's Asian, she's very good. I wasn't talking about that. That's what I thought you was about to say. But that does make sense too. Yeah, I mean, I I would say they're pretty traditional women.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, just from their um culture. But the point is that like they gave you a good offset of their jobs and their professions and their actual characters. Um the rest of the episode, I thought it was really good, honestly, overall. I liked it. The animation sucked ass. But I like it. The fights even like. Yeah, they were like stop motion. Yeah, I didn't see anyone block. People just going blow for blow. I was like, come on, like, and it made me appreciate Dragon Ball. I was like, I was thinking back to like when guys used to block it. Yeah. The only person who did any blocking was Omni Man or Nolan when he was fighting Oliver and he made Oliver look like super trash. And I was like, You are super trash, Oliver.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I hated him in the episode because of that reason.
SPEAKER_01We're not giving Mark enough credit. Uh, he didn't even know he killed uh Um Conquest. And then they did that little thing at the end. Did you watch? Where they like went to Conquer Conquest Grave with the camera. I was like, they're about to bring this nigga back again? But then they were like, nah, we're joking. I like that. That's that's that's cool. That was funny, but I was like, if y'all bring Conquest back, that would have been the show Jumping the Shark for me. Yeah. I'd have been uh pretty turned off by that. Um shout out to Conquest.
SPEAKER_00That's a great That's a great character. Yeah, great character, great villain, like a great growth villain. Because you know, you have that one that you have to defeat to go to the level where like now. Yeah, now I'm a villager. That was an amazing character.
SPEAKER_01I gotta see Thrag, man. I gotta see hands. I got he has to do something because Conquest has raised the bar. Nolan, what Nolan did on Earth when he held Mark in front of that train and just like didn't even blink when he was killing like thousands of people. I gotta see Thrag do something that's gonna make me be like, oh yeah, I understand why the Viltramites even bow to this guy. I gotta see it.
SPEAKER_00Yo, I I don't think you get it. I don't. If Conquest is coming before him, like, yo, please.
SPEAKER_01That's I he gotta do some crazy shit, bro.
SPEAKER_00Conquest got Conquest.
SPEAKER_01He gotta kill Omni Man.
SPEAKER_00Conquest got slapped by a guy with one eye. Not because that guy's stronger than because.
SPEAKER_01Nah, it's because he gotta he got thrag under the Yeah, like I can't do nothing. Yeah, that guy was getting his ass kicked by the old nigga. But Thaddeus is old. The older they are, the stronger they're gonna be. We talked about this. He was walking my dude with the eye. Oh, he said I'm Moses. Yeah, he was walking him down, bro. He didn't get any hits in his. That's how I know that nigga evil. That's an evil old nigga, man. He's gonna You think so? He's gonna try to kill every Viltermat, bro.
SPEAKER_00All of them. I think he's desperate to get rid of the Viltromites because he realizes how wicked his people are.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but like can I get an episode? Like, I wanna see, like, they could do a five-minute montage, like, you know, when they do like the no no audio, it's just like you know, ambient music of just watching him like go from I'm proud to be a Viltermite to disgust. I gotta see.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Cause like the level of disgust this dude, because I I'm seeing it. They're doing the writing is great. They're doing it where other the other characters kind of looking at him like, okay, we're gonna kill him. Like he's seen all this death and destruction. He's like, not enough. But he never like flinched. Everybody else is like, yo.
SPEAKER_00He said, This is just a small well, he's a he's a Viltromite. Yeah, yeah. He's used to seeing like blood and gore. Same thing with Nolan. Nolan is looking around like, I don't feel bad for these people.
SPEAKER_01Like Yeah, and then his son kind of um outsmarted him with the with the egg thing. I like that too. Because Nolan wanted to kill the mom. Yeah, the creature, he's like, bro, we need eggs, kill her, like no more eggs.
SPEAKER_00But then he told and he saw it in reverse when they went to the planet, I forgot what it's called. But they got there and he told um he told Oliver, don't kill their soldiers because they're just slaves. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna turn them, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So it's a good duality, yeah. I th I really appreciate that dynamic, like you were talking about between um Nolan and Oliver. I really like to see that arc in one episode. It was good. I thought that was wholesome. And um the guidance of a father was portrayed so powerfully in that episode.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think Nolan is a great dad, and we didn't really get to see that with Mark besides the flashbacks. He was good with Mark. No, no, I'm not saying he wasn't, but it was like this is way more in depth. Like, yo, I'm watching him like he if he took any misstep, he could have lost Oliver forever. True. And it just shows like this guy's a really good dad. He is, he really is, and he could be younger. Showing the parents that he came from, I don't know how he did it. Well, no, his dad actually looked out for him, too.
SPEAKER_00His dad was cool. Yeah, yeah. His mom was a she was I'm trying to end you now. Yeah, but also again, one more callback is that Mark had his ascension battle with his father.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, of course.
SPEAKER_00He got smacked, but you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. That's supposed to be. Yeah, I don't think that's gonna really happen with him and Oliver. I don't think they're gonna have a physically violent thing. Oliver almost died to Conquest. That was enough.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Conquest like their grandfather.
SPEAKER_00Is he? No. Oh my god. Did I miss something? I rock with Conquest.
SPEAKER_01That's a great, like, he's like retired Broly. I wanted to see Dude with the messed up eye get busy. I thought he was gonna be, because he looks like Sinestro to me. Yeah, but I really thought he was gonna be nice, man. He seemed like one of them. Like, I'm just cool with the big homie, man. Yeah, that's my guy. Anytime he's saying it'd be like, whatever you say.
SPEAKER_00I thought he was gonna that old nigga. Oh man. I think that just points to how gangster Thaddeus is. Yeah. Remember, this guy backs he backhanded. Conquest. Conquest ate that joint. I was like, yo.
SPEAKER_01Alright, man. Let's let's see what's going on with Drag, man. That's that's what I'm looking forward to next episode. Cleanest fade in the universe. I wanna see what the hype is. You already know something. I don't. So let me see. It's a lot, it's a lot of guys they're putting on this drag, dude. A little spoiler? I don't want to, I don't wanna. You sure? Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure.
SPEAKER_00I kinda wanna spoil it though. Nah, the urge is building in my chest. So don't say nothing. Please. I ain't gonna do that.
SPEAKER_01Thank you.
SPEAKER_00Thank you, thank you, thank you.
SPEAKER_01Um I wanna we we can keep it kind of animation.
SPEAKER_02So like I like uh most of you know, I have um I have children.
SPEAKER_01And my son is getting into um is getting into anime. Because you know, I watch anime. But he chose an anime that I don't give two shits about. He chose one piece. He chose one piece, right?
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna have to agree with you there.
SPEAKER_01And then he flipped it on me. He was like, nah, dad. We don't do anime, we do a live action. And you know, I was already telling you, I was like, because I'm having flashbacks to Dragon Ball Z, probably the worst live action show ever. I mean movie ever. Oh, the movie. Oh my god. Worst live action anything I've ever seen, ever. And that shit didn't come out in the 90s. That came out in like the 2000s when they had the money and resources to make a decent. First of all, they made Goku's white. A white boy with a leather jacket. Yeah, like I don't that yeah, they were doing grease. That's what they was doing. Like that was they messed up the whole thing. Um Piccolo, yeah, he was the he was the villain in there, right? Yeah, he was the bad guy. I didn't I never watched the whole thing. I just no, I I just seen like bits and pieces of it. That's how bad I was. I kind of blanked out. So I'm just like, this is not how you do anime, kid. But you know, as a father, I had to do the Nolan. I was like, I'll show you why this is gonna be bad. I thought you was gonna be Nolan before. I thought you'd be Omni Man. Remember, he was just frowning at Mark out of nowhere. Yeah. He was always mad for me. And that's the neat part. You know, but um, I I was like, all right, we're gonna suffer together. And then I turned on One Piece. I'm kind of familiar with One Piece. I w I tried to watch it. I did. But it's I don't I don't know. It just came out of the time where it's too many better options. Yeah, Naruto was rocking, like peak now, but you to understand is it's a lot. Yo, One Piece probably gonna be the biggest thing ever. What do you mean? People, I didn't realize how big One Piece was. I think One Piece is more popular than everything. Yeah, wow. How many episodes is it again? A thousand? Oh, it's like a gajillion. I I can't do that. Yeah, but I'm telling you, so I can't live that long. But yeah, we turn it on.
SPEAKER_00It's mad episodes.
SPEAKER_01And it's good. It's actually good. The live action? The live action One Piece is good. I'm gonna put it out there, especially if you're like us, who's like are familiar with One Piece. So the the only thing about it that doesn't translate well is how they speak.
SPEAKER_00They speak in English?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, they're speaking English. Uh they casted the people well, because even I think the um the I think they call mangakas, the nigga that writes the mango. I think he's very involved. Okay. So he straight up said, like, yeah, when I envision the character Luffy, I envisioned a Brazilian dude. When I envision the character Zorro, he's he's clearly Asian. Right. Uh Usopp, he thought of an African. Um Usopp. Yeah, he's he's the liar of the crew, by the way. Yeah, yeah. His power is the lie. Um, yeah, so it's very, but the like I'm saying, the only problem is the dialogue is so anime coded that in live action it's kind of goofy. Yeah. Like a human being would not say this this way. Yeah. I'm gonna be the king of the power. He said that shit every three seconds. Like, nigga, we heard you. Like that don't that's not the same thing. It works in the anime because that's just how we're we're accustomed to that in animation. Like every character, Naruto, every fucking episode, that's my ninja way, uh, Dr. Bio, like whatever. Yeah, he got his shit going on. So we we're not, but when you see it live action, you're like, dog. This kid's weird. I get it. King of the pirates, we got it. And then nobody else is like, yo, we heard you like three minutes ago. Like, nobody's saying that. They're all just like pretending it's the first time they heard it, too. So it's like that, but other than that, yo, that the fights are dope. Really? They have like, yo, it's the it, I think it's the technology we have, is just really good. Okay. I mean, it does have is fish man, it's a nigga that's just a shark walking around. Like, of course, like that's way easier to animate than have it in a like normal people as a nigga that's a fish, but it's still it works, it works, and the story's compelling, and like I'm watching as a family, so like my girl is there. She she can't do like I've converted her into like into the nerd stuff, but she cannot do animation. Like, once it's animated, she's like, nah, take the shit off. She cannot do it. Like, Invincible, that's an adult show. Yeah, I made the mistake of watching a couple episodes of my son, and he liked it because you know he's you know, kids like blood and gore, but I'm like, I'm like, yo, this is a I keep forgetting, like, this is an adult show. You can't watch it, yeah. But she, my girl's like, nah. And it's compelling because she be listening to it. I'm like, yo, like, what's going on? Who cheated on who? Because they got everything for everybody in there. But once she looks at the screen, she's like, it's a fucking cartoon, man. Just like whatever, whatever. I'll she I I'll give her a couple more years and then I don't know. We might have to talk about something now, but uh, I'm just playing. But um, yeah, so she she can't do that. But the story in One Piece got her. And I'm trying to tell her, like, nah, this is even better when it's animated because the zaniness of it is easier to translate. So I'm I'm gonna put my AG stamp of approval for the One Piece. I think you should check it out, GR.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna check it out. But I will say this this is there's a reason why the why an anime exists and why things are animated. Um so I appreciate them the attempt to make it live action. Hopefully they'll be able to utilize AI to make it what it needs to be.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But um there's a reason why some of these shows are animated because you can do so much more. You can emphasize the weight of an attack. Yeah. Like the there's been shots in Attack on Titan where you're you're seeing um the commanders scream like my soldiers fight, and the just the lines, you know, emphasize how intense it is. You can't replicate that in live direction.
SPEAKER_01Um I think they do actually have a live action attack on Titan. I never even sniffed it. But you see, there's a reason. One piece might make me I might we'll see. I might have to check all the live action shit. Is it a movie or a series? It's a series. They're doing the series. Yes, but you see, I think what they're doing is ambitious. I like it. I think they're compressing everything. You need to. It's too many episodes. Yeah, I and and I heard because it's so popping, like the the live action is so popping, yeah, that they're gonna do a remake. Even though the anime still, I mean the manga's still going on, they're gonna remake the manga and put it on Netflix. For the the show. Yeah.
unknownAlright.
SPEAKER_01Just uh so they're gonna the the the anime in the manga is still happening, but because they're gonna just make a oh remember when they did Dragon Ball Z Kai, where they did like a just a sped up version of it, like they eliminated all the filler. Yeah. I think they're gonna do the same thing for One Piece, but I think One Piece just needs that in general. So I don't think I'm ever gonna watch One Piece, like the actual, but I think I'll follow this. If this completes the series, like if I can be caught up, like, oh, I know how this thing ends.
SPEAKER_00All I'm gonna say is don't walk into a room of real One Piece fans and say, like, oh, well I watched the.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, no, I would never be silly. They're gonna they're gonna chastise me.
SPEAKER_00Chastise, they might get physical with you.
SPEAKER_01Oh nah, them niggas get beat up. Like, come on. They're One Piece fan. Oh, yeah. They can't beat up. Yeah, okay. Got it. You never been jumped before? Yeah, like One Piece guy. Like when you think of a One Piece guy, like, come on, now you hear what he's saying about One Piece man? Sorry, sorry. All right, good looks. Yeah, but shout out One Piece man. I'm a um I'm gonna check it out. I'm a Jolly Roger. I think that's what their fan base is. I can't be a ninja. I'm a pirate.
SPEAKER_00A Jolly Roger is what y'all call yourselves?
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Don't don't quote me. If that's what y'all call yourselves, no offense.
SPEAKER_01They're pirates, actually.
SPEAKER_00I'm not worried about getting jumped by no Jolly Rogers.
SPEAKER_01That's what I'm trying to tell you. It's it's dope. It's dope, though.
SPEAKER_00Nah, I'm gonna check it out. Um, I've been mean to look into one piece, but again, it's just not I don't think you can watch astronomical anime. And there's too many other good animations out or animes out right now that um I'm invested in.
SPEAKER_01Um, I got a new show for you. I don't know the name of it. I'm so bad at this. It's just the names we uh cooking me. Did you ever start uh Fire Force? Like I did. Oh, it's done now, so it's completed. Okay, I'll watch it. I have to finish it. I didn't finish it. Um, but nah, but um the same guy that made, or girl. I think it might be a girl. I'm not too sure. That made on full uh Metal Alchemist. Uh-huh. They they started uh another show. Yeah. And it's getting pretty good reviews. I have to have to check it out too. I'll get you I'll get you guys a name next week. Gotta renew my crunchy roll. Um, why? Crunchyroll? To watch it. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00Let's talk after.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I got you. You know what's funny? Crunchyroll started off as uh and then they got legit. They went legit. They did the drug dealer thing. That's the problem.
SPEAKER_00They gotta clean their money.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they went legit. Shout out to our crunchy roll. Turned on us. But um, yeah. All right. Um, what else we got on our docket? Um, we want to get back into the No. Actually, I want to go to video games real fast. Sorry, sorry, sorry. So uh I think a couple weeks ago I tried to get you back into Pokemon. It's hard to say. I'm gonna try again. Uh, what type of Pokemon player are you? Are you playing the games for story, you're a collector, you're a breeder, or do you like battling like me? It's about to sound like infomercial.
SPEAKER_00I I do like a good story. That leads to that that's what makes the battles mean more. Okay. When I played Pokemon originally, looking forward to meeting up with your rival, whether it was Gary or um Silver or Gold, whatever his name is, it was like I I know when I turn this corner he's gonna pop up and we going at it. I want to see where his his poke his main Pokemon is at compared to mine. That meant something. Meeting with the boss of the Rockets or whatever team it was at the time was a big deal. Meeting Elite Four, it meant something. So the story means something. I do like to battle though. Um in all really all aspects, because then also the breeding and getting the different moves and putting that on this Pokemon. All of it it kind of works together for me, but battling obviously is the point of it. That's why we do this.
SPEAKER_01Some people disagree with it, but I agree with it. You know, there's some people that just play these games just to collect them. To collect the Pokemon? Yeah, they don't battle at all.
SPEAKER_02If Pokemon was real, I would anyway. So I don't know how nerdy you got.
SPEAKER_01I'm sorry. People are out here just catching Pokemon and put them in a box. Yeah. I have a living deck. Huh? I have a living deck. I just want to keep them in the box. I have every single Pokemon that just sit in the box, but I also battle like release them. For what? It's a living deck.
SPEAKER_00You only need like 15 of them that you're gonna show. There's a thousand Pokemon. Yeah, collect them. I caught that. Alright, get out of here. Oh, you want some ash here?
SPEAKER_01Nah.
SPEAKER_00I'm not saying get rid of the ones that are you use. I'm saying like, oh, I caught uh what a Mareep?
unknownCool.
SPEAKER_00Evolve it. Why you know what a Mareep is?
SPEAKER_01Just pick the random. That's a pretty deep cut right there. Mareep? I caught a ditto. Get out of here. Come on, everybody knows ditto. But, anyways, um, how nerdy did you get though? I was do you know what Eevee training is and IVs and all of that? No. See, there's another level, and this is thank you. Competitive battling is one of the most underrated parts of Pokemon that the casual, and even I wouldn't even consider you a casual. You know who Mareep is. You know what a Marep is. Um, the next level, and I got put on by one of my OGs about the competitive, we call it comp. Comp battling. There's a whole science to this shit. And what this new game, Pokemon Champions, did was they simplified it. So you don't gotta go out and catch no Pokemon. You can transfer Pokemon in if you want, or they have a uh they have a system where you can get new Pokemon every 24 hours and you can build a team, and then you can edit the Eevees, the IVs, the natures, all of that stuff by a click of a button and go battle other like-minded individuals. Okay. So that's like a niche kind of yeah, I would say it's very, very niche, but I think that to me and to like-minded people like this, I think I think we can convert more people because this makes Pokemon not a child's game anymore. It makes it a lot of people. This is like we're playing chess. This is like if chess had a bajillion moves. Right. Which it already has a bajillion moves. It's it's it's like chess with a skin. Like, yo, instead of be a knight, it's a Charizard.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_01Did you ever play a Pokemon game with this thing called Mega Evolving? No. You never heard about it.
SPEAKER_00I'm not a fan of it.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, no, you're not a fan because you don't haven't done it. Well, first of all, have you seen what Mega Charizard looks like?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, this blue demon.
SPEAKER_01You're not a f demon? What's up? I know what it is.
SPEAKER_00I've seen it. And um I just want to preach. You're not a fan of a black Charizard? It's tough. Like, it's cra it's great, but it's just like, oh, we're going. How many evolutions do we have? Now you're a Digimon. You're a Digimon.
SPEAKER_01It is very Digimon like, but listen, you only Mega Evolve in battle, and you can only Mega Evolve once. One Pokemon and then turn back. Yeah. It's not a permanent Digimon. No, it's very Digimon, but I think Pokemon did it better. They got Digimon out the paint and was like, all right, we're gonna steal this. We're gonna make a better version of your thing. Nah, it's not a better version. I I think it is. I mean, don't knock until you try it.
SPEAKER_00We're gonna have to talk about that too, Digimon versus Pokemon, even though I know Digimon ultimately loses, but there's a reason that I can make a case for why Digimon is far. I mean, do it right now just a little bit. Alright, well, uh, first of all, you have one one um partner typically, so you have to work with this one that makes it more personal. Like, this is my Digimon partner. That's gay. That's not gay. How's that gay? Like, oh, I have a bunch of Pokemon. Ash matter of fact, that might as well be Ash. He has Pikachu, and these other Pokemon that are just with us, you know, and I let them go first. You know, and when things get real, like yo, Pikachu is.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm gonna protect the nigga I don't the my only non-slave.
SPEAKER_00See what I'm talking about. Mind you, these guys are collecting them and putting them in a box. They come around. Hold on, might as well be a boat. Exactly, a boat or a field, anyway. Yeah, okay, yeah. And after that, they they digivolve based off of their battle experience, and they will push and evolve or digivolve to the next level when needed. And a lot of times, based on this is all in Pokemon now. I'm hearing this proves your point, my point that they steal a lot from Digimon based on their relationship with their tamer, it's a tamer, not a trainer, and then they will evolve depending on how you raise them. So they can go, like for instance, I'll give you the the the the age-old name Agumon. Agumon turns into Greymon. Graymon, if you train him correctly, it will turn into metal Greymon. If you train him incorrectly, he turns into skull graymon. And if you keep training him the wrong way, it turns into black war Greymon versus war Greymon. So you have these two The Black is evil, huh?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm listening. Regardless, Black Charizard? Demon he Demony threw it. Black War Greymon gets yo, he yo, he gets bombed. He's not beating up uh Charizard, though. And the problem He has a spirit bomb. Why them niggas is talking?
SPEAKER_00That's what makes it better. They're having full conversations with these niggas.
SPEAKER_01I'm not talking at all.
SPEAKER_00Yo, you know how annoyed I'd be the fifth time Pikachu says his name in him?
SPEAKER_01In the games? I'm like, they don't they don't say their names. That's some anime shit. In the game, they just they are animals.
SPEAKER_00All right, but I'm talking about the show, right? The show. This thing is saying its name over and over. Yeah, that's pretty cool. At some point, I'm gonna get annoyed. That shit only works in anime. Anyway.
SPEAKER_01That's my ninja way. It's the same thing. You're right. That's a good point. That shit only works in anime. That shit don't work in live action. But yeah, this is my commercial for Pokemon Champions. I'm not a sponsor. That'll be dope. Nintendo holler at me. I don't know if we're safe enough here. But uh yeah, Pokemon Champions, man. If you're nice at Pokemon, battle me, get smoked. I'm gonna I'm gonna get my man. I'm gonna have to check it out. I'm gonna I'm gonna get you on it. I'll I'll help you out with a team. What's Eevee training and Ivy training? Break that down for me real quick. So basically, you have to start with the nature. Okay. So nature like personality type? No, there's literally nature. So when you look at your Pokemon could be modest, jolly, black, timid. I've seen that. Yeah, yeah. Okay. So every nature, um no, I'm I'm already saying it wrong. So majority of the natures have a a positive and a negative. So let's use Jolly. Jolly will boost your Pokemon's speed stat, but it will lower its special attack. So there's a correlation between weakness and once you find out the correct nature for your specific Pokemon, right? You know, that some Pokemon you can use them in a variety of ways. Some of them are just glass cannons, so you know. Yeah. It's it's a very thing. Uh so then Eevee and Ivy's. So uh uh effort value, which is like just the points you can add, those are Eevees. And Ivies are inherited, so there's the genetic part. It's passed down from the case. Yeah, so that's through the breeding. They they eliminated all of that. You don't gotta worry about that. You just punch in the numbers.
SPEAKER_00Alright. I like that you have to earn it though.
SPEAKER_01No, you can still do that in the main in the mainline games, they're still like that. Yeah. But and then but this just streamlined everything everything, because like the b the bad Area of entry for competitive battling was always the time consumption. Right, right, yeah. It takes too long to just make one team doing it this way, breeding, breeding, breeding, breeding. Finally got it. Damn, I forgot this one don't got this move. And then it's just a lot of work. With this game, it's just plug and play. You can make a hundred teams and you just battle each other all day. Alright. It's really fun. And um, I think this is gonna take uh I think it's gonna make competitive battling mainstream.
SPEAKER_00That's a slave masters used to say.
SPEAKER_05This is really fun.
unknownBreeding. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I'm not denying that.
SPEAKER_01I'm not denying that at all.
SPEAKER_00What's the next topic? Yeah, breeding, breeding, breeding.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. Kind of got me there. Um all right. So I wanted to um I wanted to put you on to a couple of shows. But we we spoke off air. So before I put you on to a show, let's talk about our anticipation of the boys. I think the first episode already came out. Of season four or five. It was five, right? Yeah, final season. The season just came, yeah, the episode just came out. We didn't watch it. Boohoo. But uh next week we'll give you our reviews. But um, what I'm expecting for this season, um I does Homelander die?
SPEAKER_02If Homelander dies, the show's over. Yeah, but this is the last season. So he might die.
SPEAKER_00Um or something that kind of you know incapacitates him to the point where his life is his life, him being alive is worse. I think that would be the perfect ending for that character. Because you kill a character like that often, it's like, oh great, he's gone. But he didn't suffer as much of the suffering that he from episode one.
SPEAKER_01And you know what's funny? The boys is one of the few things that the source material is not as good as the adaptation. Yeah, I read the comic, that shit is mad racist number one. It's crazy racist. Um, but I think it was that was the point. It's supposed to be edgy, but that's what all racists say. Um it was it wasn't bad. Like some people say it's awful. Like, I I couldn't even get through this. Nah, I got through it. It was very homosexual.
SPEAKER_00It was like that translated.
SPEAKER_01It was cra yo, no, no, I'm telling you, it's even worse. Like, give me an example.
SPEAKER_02So there's a part in the in the comic where it's like I forgot what it's called.
SPEAKER_01It was kind of like Freetnik. I forgot what it was called in the comic because I read it so long ago.
SPEAKER_00It's with uh all the the supers, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they all It was in the show, yeah. They all dip, yeah, but it's like all of them. Like all like the I'm a every last one of them. Soldier Boy and Homelander have a relationship. They're supposed to be father and son. And they have a relationship. Like that's like his Yeah.
SPEAKER_05His yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And like I'm good on that. Yeah, no, it was it was crazy.
SPEAKER_00Um But knowing Homelander, I can see him being down for that because he's a weirdo.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, it was it was na like the b the the the comic is way like and in in um in the boys they try to make it funny in in the comic, it was like creepy. Yeah. You know what there's a car Tech Knight. Oh, yeah, I know who Tech Knight. His character in the funny same name, right? Yeah. His character in the comic. He was a freak in the show. No, but he's I'm telling you, it's worse in the comic. You want the example? Sure.
SPEAKER_00So Tech Knight's thing is Wasn't this one with the holes in the trees and stuff that he was doing? It was in um it wasn't in uh the boys, it was in the other one.
SPEAKER_01Oh I like that show too, by the way.
SPEAKER_00That's a really good spinoff.
SPEAKER_01You like it?
SPEAKER_00I like it. I like the main character Marie's bat. I like it. Yeah, I like it. This is a whole other comic.
SPEAKER_02So Tech Knight in the comic is an Iron Man Batman allegory, or yeah, I guess he's allegory. But his thing is he's a pedo and all his like all his robins.
SPEAKER_01Mentee psychic. Yeah, he like keeps having to replace that. Because remember, this is a this is a corporate thing, it's like Disney. Yeah. So uh what's the company? Vault Tech, what's no, I'm um V What's a company called? I'm out to remember it. Yeah, it's it's yeah, that company always has to be like, yo, we Technite, bro, we just got the other guy not to sue. And then we're talking about kids. Vault. Vault, there we go. Stop doing this, yeah. And then it gets so bad, like he's like, he has a problem, but he's not just a a pedo, he just has a sex problem. It gets so bad that I think he like that he has to stop an asteroid. I think he like he does it like with his private. Yeah, like he's like, he he died. I think he dies like what's the name of the writer of this show? I forgot. Of the um original. Yeah, but it's it's it's it's some edgy shit. Uh the whole point of the the boys' uh comic and technically the show is just to show you that superheroes suck. Like if they were real, they could be they would be bad people. And yeah.
SPEAKER_00I love that idea. I've always thought, like, you know, you gotta rem remember, like, if this good person is a hero, then there's gonna be someone out there who has powers who's just really not a good person. Yeah, so the show did a great job with that.
SPEAKER_01Um another thing that's different in the um the comic is that their crew, they're all on V. Because V is different in the comics.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01It doesn't it's not so Mother's Milk, his whole thing in the comics is you know, because Vault is uh experimenting, of course, in the hood, experimenting on kids and stuff like that. So he literally got his powers. Oh, that's me. He literally I don't even have an arms. He literally got his powers from his mom's breast milk because she worked in the factory.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's why his mother's milk.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and then his brother, he was already mentally challenged, and then he used to wear a helmet, and then he was, you know, drinking the mother's milk, and he actually like died by growing into his helmet. It's just crazy. But um, yeah, so his whole thing, he used to have to literally go back to his mom's crib when it was time for him to like get busy, and as a grown man. This is sick. That's yeah, yeah. I'm trying to tell you. That is sick. And it was a it was weird. Wait, she was still producing milk? Yes, because the milk don't stop. Like, that's real. That's actually real. Women don't stop lactating. I didn't know that one. Yeah, that they do not stop lactating if you continue to suck. I'm I just got educated. Yeah, that's why there was wet nurses. Like rich people, that's true, they would just have some little farm girl for her whole life just be wet nurse, all the kids. Yeah. Yeah, so how the how it ends in the comic, spoilers, but you guys should go check it out, is complete so um Black Noor in the comic is actually Homelander.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01He's a Homelander clone.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01That the government can control.
SPEAKER_00Just in case.
SPEAKER_01Just in case. And he kills, he kills Homelander.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like literally, like, rips him in half. So a lot of the things, funny enough, in the comic, a lot of the evil things that Homelander was doing in the comics, he was never privy to them. It was actually Black Nor doing them. Because he was like a psycho. Like, he yo, he's way worse than Homelander. Yeah. So, but eventually they had to like get rid of Homelander.
SPEAKER_00So when he was doing the crazy stuff, the government was making him do that, or was that just him?
SPEAKER_01So the government was sending on a mission, and then like there was a there's like one comet that he eats a baby. Alright, see. I'm trying to explain to you that this is the best adaptation. Like, the comic is like really gnarly, bro. It's nothing compared to this. Like the wild. Yeah, I'm talking about every change they made, but so I do like what I what I did like better in the comic is that the fights were more fair because both teams are souped up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it wasn't so and they couldn't, and uh the boys they had to get souped up. They weren't permanently souped up.
SPEAKER_01No, every yeah, that's the thing. It's like That's good. That makes it yeah. So like when they knew it was go time, yo, get some V. We were about to go, we were about to go.
SPEAKER_00Get some mother's milk.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and yeah, MM, he would just go to his mom's crib.
SPEAKER_00He can't just use regular V.
SPEAKER_01Nigga like the mom's milk.
SPEAKER_00Alright, that's that's where it gets weird.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. Don't quote me on that. I don't know if that's why he had to do it that way, but that V right here. He literally did it that way in the comic.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I got no, I got my own switch.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, she literally got she, she was a black woman working at a factory. A vault factory. So V is like a known thing, it's just that they're the only ones that can produce it. Right. So them niggas they get their V from the CIA. So the boys, they because the CIA is against Disney. So it's like vault is Disney, you know. So whenever it was time, so like it was just more believable the fights between the like, you know, in the in the show, they have to like kind of use wit. And now this last season we see um Butcher on the V, yeah, as like destroying him.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So it's not like that in the in the in the comic. What happens in the comic with Butcher? Another spoiler, is that he's so hellbent on killing Helmander that he he forsakens his whole team. Like, yeah, you see this like him being friends with all these people, like he's not friends with them in the comic. It's more of a you guys are a means to an end. You're talking about the boys. Yeah, like that. Like he did not mend. Yeah, nah, like he don't it's not like that.
SPEAKER_00He's using them.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. Mother's Milk, uh, his daughter in the comic is like a prostitute. I'm telling you, it's it's a it's really edgy, and sometimes it's too, it's just being edgy for the sake of being edgy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's over.
SPEAKER_01But I I enjoyed it though. I'm not gonna lie to you. I was like, yo, like they were pushing the envelope on a lot of the stuff. Like she's straight up like a prostitute. He's like trying to save her, and then she's just like, nah, nigga. I'm tired of hearing that. Yeah, nah. It was it was definitely racist. The whole thing was racist. I'm tired of hearing that. Like they had they had this guy, Homelander, like saying the N-word like a like a lot.
SPEAKER_00I could believe that though.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Just based on, yeah, I could see him.
SPEAKER_01And he's like, I want to do something, but yeah, so this this version of Homelander is more like a MAGA guy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. They said that they tried to like, you know, shape him after Donald Trump.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I can see it.
SPEAKER_00But it's too easy in my opinion.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's low-hanging fruit. But you know. Um, yeah, so back to the show, what I expect for this season. It's the last season. I think uh Butcher dies. And I think Homelander gets permanently disabled. Yeah. And then his character. Well, I don't know what they're gonna do with Soulja Boy, because in the in the in the comic, Soulja Boy was like a nobody. So I don't know what they're gonna do with him. He was just uh having his way with Homelander. Yeah, he literally was no no, Homelander was having his way with him. Really? That was the relationship. I thought it was the other way. No, no, no. Homelander is the guy. He is he's still the guy. Yeah, not as bad.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Yo, this is crazy. Yeah. The one time I the moment I realized that that show was really well, it was a lot of moments, but there was one in particular when they did um MM dirty. When he was at the party, and he opened that door and that's tame.
SPEAKER_01Compared to the That's wild to me.
SPEAKER_00No, no, but compared to the show that on TV, I was like, wow, they went for wild.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they went for it. And he's a black man. Yeah, I was like, that would be We don't even play like that. That's some white boy shit. That would exactly that was a shame tactic. That guy that guy is in the comic, too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah?
SPEAKER_01That's something sausage, something. Yeah, that's yeah, that's his name.
SPEAKER_00Some shit like that. Damn, bro. That check must have been nice, man. That was my guy, too, the actor. He's a good guy.
SPEAKER_01Another thing I don't like, um, oh, Starlight. Starlight. Um, why she look like that now?
SPEAKER_00Her face looks different, no? Yeah. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01I thought I was the only one. People are like, oh, nothing happened.
SPEAKER_00It looks different.
SPEAKER_01So there's this thing sweeping through Hollywood. It's a new trend. Some people don't know Zempic, but the other, the procedure that women are doing is called, and I'm probably gonna mispronounce this, bucko fat removal. So it's like the specific pockets of fat that all people have in their face. Yeah. You can't really lose by just working out or anything like that. It's just a it's just a thing. It actually makes you look youthful.
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_01And they just all take it out.
SPEAKER_00She's tripping, man. She changed her face. She was like, and I'm not gonna sit here like I'm not judging her, but I I wasn't particularly attracted to her in general.
SPEAKER_01But now I remember You can take the Koofy off right now.
SPEAKER_00Alright, cool.
SPEAKER_01Like she wasn't allowed. Now she's whack. Now I'm just like, wow. You want to know about her character in the comic?
SPEAKER_00Actor great. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um so her initiation was she had to blow all of them. And she did it. I'm all laugh, probably. Oh, and the deep is black in the comic.
SPEAKER_00Is he still weird like that? Or?
SPEAKER_01Nah, he's not like that. But he's like, he's weird in a different way. Nah, he's not doing no shit like that. That's that's that's the show. You ain't gonna get no brother doing that. They wouldn't even believe that. But um, nah, yeah. So she blows all of them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, all like the whole seven. A train the whole seven?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the whole team. No, not the female. Oh.
SPEAKER_02And he homelanded me to do it. And she did it. You want to be down, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And like it, so there's a whole tension, the whole series between her and Huey. Like, how did you get on the team? Like, yeah. It was weird.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy, but um, I guess it kind of uh speaks to reality.
SPEAKER_01Oh, really?
SPEAKER_00You want to be famous. We had a whole era of me too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, that's true. That's true. This is not this is not me speculating, this is the facts. Yeah, I think they was just telling on themselves then. That's what I'm saying. That comic is pretty old. It's like early 2000s.
SPEAKER_00Joy Taylor or whoever this old this is a thing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, that sounds like you know, if you if you got the stomach for it, it's not like people say it's trash. I don't think it's trash. I just think the TV show is more nuanced, it does it better, it's not as tacky, but it does tackle a lot of stuff, like how I genuinely think if there was a group of superpowered individuals that a corporation was managing and creating them at random. Look at it like Hollywood. Yeah, like look at how many literally, literal and figurative bodies these executives and producers have to hide for these stars. It's the same thing. It's like these guys are the company has to produce, A24 has to make movies. Yeah, you know. I'm yo, this guy has a scandal. I'm gonna try to take it. Now, imagine if them niggas are superpowered. Yeah. You know, so what they did with the freak nick thing was it happens like I think like maybe every two years or maybe yearly, whatever it is. They just lie to the general public and be like, yo, they have to go fight these aliens off the planet.
SPEAKER_00That's probably the boys is probably more realistic than you know, Marvel Universe. Oh, absolutely. That's what that's probably what you would have more often. Yeah. Like um, my favorite season was actually with the I forgot the girl's name, but it was like Oh, um, the Nazi. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I was like So that character's a dude. Okay. In the in the show. I mean in the book. Is it the same thing? Do they have the same dynamic with uh no okay? That that dynamic was with what was was with Soldier Boy, that's what I'm trying to tell you. He was wearing that dude out, but um, yeah, no, uh, what was Stormfront?
SPEAKER_00Stormfront.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that was a good season.
SPEAKER_00I thought it was a good season because like I was like, this is what would probably happen. Ubermensch. Yeah, kill somebody and like, you know, all right, well, I just how I feel, so what are you gonna do? You know what I'm saying? So yeah, I like that. That's um, that's interesting. I might check it out, but I can see why people would think it's trash because you can overdo edginess.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. It's definitely some white boy over like some of the stuff is hard to get through, but yeah, I did enjoy the it's it's drawn really well too. Yeah, but I did, it's like a graphic novel almost. Um, I did enjoy the man, superheroes would be shitty people. Like we've seen the evil Superman trope so many times. Like they had that movie with the evil Superman kid, I think it was like Brightburn, something like that. There's a there's a bunch of that. Um, and when the boys first came out, I thought it was gonna be all just another evil Superman story, but nah, this is like it oh, it just talks about society at large. Like, yeah. It's it's it's dope.
SPEAKER_00But um I I personally believe the average person is more along the lines of especially today, along the lines of being less moral than uh most.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I don't think it's the I don't think it's hu I mean there's an argument that's that's just human nature, it's human nature, but I do like I say all the time, I just think it's power. Like power just could you imagine, bro? Like, you're you're nothing can harm you, and you can shoot laser beams out your eyes, you can fly. Yep.
SPEAKER_00No one can check you. Why do I have to be a good person? Power doesn't corrupt you, it reveals the corruption in you.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you know who's also really good in the book, too? The character that Gian um Esposito played, the the corporate guy. Yeah. Before they packed him up. I just think they couldn't afford him anymore.
SPEAKER_00No, they couldn't. He was right now he's hot.
SPEAKER_01So his character in the in the um in the comic, he's white though. He's dope. The dynamic with him and um with him and um Homelander is so dope in the comic because it's like Homelander's always like, yo, why does this guy think he can speak to me like this?
SPEAKER_00Oh, he's like Cecil.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and he's just like, what, what's wrong? But he's like, remember, Homelander can hear your heartbeat. Yeah, he can see your sweat, and this guy's not and like the whole thing is like, yo, like, is he like a mutant? Like, why is he not? It's it's it's dope. I can't remember how the dynamic. I think he's the one that made the final call, like, yo, uh, Nor, go kill uh Homelander, because Homelander was like just not listening anymore. But I just don't remember, like, he had a secret because some some like one of his uh like the person that's gonna take over for him, this the same thing happened, like with a girl I had to take over. She like was like, yo, so like what's your secret? What's your secret? And he kind of like I forgot what he said. Like it was something like it was something cold too, like I can't really remember. I read it so long ago. But it's like, yeah, like pretty much like that. These are just these are giant kids or something like that. Like they're just kids. The show is still better. I just want that to be clear.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, but yeah, um, who's your favorite character?
SPEAKER_00Um on the show. Yeah. I really wanted to be MM, but I'd be being biased. Um, my favorite character on the show in terms of superheroes or in general. Anyway, anybody. That's tough. I'm gonna go with A train for now.
SPEAKER_01I like Frenchie.
SPEAKER_00Frenchie? Frenchie's a weirdo.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's a weirdo, bro. Yeah, but he You kill you killed this guy's parents, and then you slept with him? Wow.
SPEAKER_01I like the Frenchman, man. Nah. I think he's exactly what a French guy is. Like when I think of a French dude, it's like they're old in.
SPEAKER_00This guy is ridiculous. Yeah, yeah. He's what you call like an actual whore.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, I rock with Frenchie.
SPEAKER_00Frenchie, what are you doing?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Alright, maybe not Atrein. Let me get me thinking again. That's a good answer. Frenchie is an interesting character.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think he brings a lot of like because like I like how we were introduced to him. Like, he knew straight up how to kill um what's the dude that was invisible? Translucent. Yeah, he just knew immediately how to kill that dude. He's like, yo, just I got you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But of course he knew.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, of course he knew.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was he was a good character. I think that um, in terms of comedic relief, I think the deep is funny. Oh, yeah, yeah. The actor who plays him and how he portrays his brother.
SPEAKER_01Yo, that's a masterclass of character acting right there. 100%. Because I know that guy in real life. You you yeah, of course. Those white boys. Oh, you're talking about the character. Oh no, not him actually. How would I know that nigga?
unknownI don't know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but like you don't know. Yeah, that's an actual person. Yeah, that's a many kinds of human being that's walking around as the deep. You see him when he's around his other like because he the deep always has a homeland in real life.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01That guy that he's like trying to impress.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're Loki Madison. Yeah, like and you might do some foul stuff with nobody looking.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, when nobody's looking, yeah. Like he's that guy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's a fun character.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he's definitely a fun dude, man. Um much better in the in the show than the comic.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, well, I don't know, but not fully. So yeah, I'm gonna go with A-Train, actually. A-Train.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I rock with A Train.
SPEAKER_00I liked his uh his dynamic and you know, him trying to grow and then getting pushed back down. They gave him a little bit of nuance.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I like how this the series started with A-Train. Right, killing Huey's uh girlfriend. That was a whoa.
SPEAKER_00That got me invested instantly.
SPEAKER_01Um yeah, that's one of the greatest pilot episodes of all time.
SPEAKER_00Yes, 100%.
SPEAKER_01Like you could show that I showed that to my mom, and she was like, What's this show? Like, what's happening? Let me figure this out. It's it's it's definitely a really good pilot. Yeah, the boys, man. I think it's gonna um. You see, I have this bias. I feel like the boys would be much bigger if it's on HBO. Like, it's one of those shows that it just It shot like it should be on HBO. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like, there's a lot of like I feel the same way about Fallout. I think Fallout should be huge. Like, it just means it's not as big as a nominated for an Emmy. It's not as big as it should be, bro. So, how many people you know watch that show? Like 100. A lot of people. You don't know a lot of people that watch that show.
SPEAKER_00I know a lot of people. I go to the fire. No, you know a lot of people.
SPEAKER_01You don't know a lot of watching.
SPEAKER_00I don't think I know a lot of people who watch the show. Alright. What show you think that any name an HBO show that has a better, a bigger following than Fallout or The Boys? Oh, like True Detective?
SPEAKER_01That's that show's been around for so long. Yeah, I didn't I didn't realize how dope True Detective was, by the way. That's what different, like every episode is a different every season's a different thing.
SPEAKER_00Right, yeah, but that's been going on for a while. I was like, yo.
SPEAKER_01This is this dope. We got Sopranos, we got the wire, you got Sopranos been since I was in Kenya High School. No, but I'm just saying, like, these are prestige. Game of Thrones is another one that's been along for 10 years. They're prestiged. Now, if you if Harry Potter about to come out.
SPEAKER_00You don't want that. If if Fallout and the boys had 10 seasons, they would be just as big on Amazon Product. I don't think they get 10 seasons. And also understand that HBO has been around since like it was a channel. Of course. It was on regular channel. Yeah. That was people's nightcap. Yeah. Yeah, no, of course. So that's why it has that following, but Amazon is fast approaching being that this generation. It's Amazon.
SPEAKER_01I think uh
SPEAKER_00Netflix is I can name you five shows on Amazon. Amazon got heat, but I think Netflix just corners the market earlier.
unknownNah.
SPEAKER_00You said Netflix? Yeah, corners of the market. Netflix has a lot of trash on it. No, no, it hasn't a lot of throwaway. They're McDonald's. Exactly. But it's not even a real film. It's just nah.
SPEAKER_01Netflix legit has a model, and I once somebody pointed this out to me, it ruined everything for me on Netflix. What's their model? Every net you sure you want to be ruined by this? Sure. Every Netflix this is Netflix originals, though. Like anything that they are producing. Right. Every episode has to end in a cliffhanger.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01They keep you coming back. Yo, once I yo, it ruined it ruined everything. I was like, yo, because it wasn't always like that. Because I went, I was watching Stranger Things. And when I watched the first couple of seasons compared to the later seasons, the first couple of seasons didn't do that weird cliffhanger thing. Some episodes just ended. Like, okay, let's like how shows it supposed to go? Like, oh my god. Like, but with all the newer seasons, everything was cliffhanger, cliffhanger, cliffhanger. So any Netflix produced anything has to have a cliffhanger at the end of the episode.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's I mean, that's their bag. That shit is whack. That's why it can't be what you know. No, but it it got Amazon Prime Heat, though. Netflix? Yeah, bro. Yeah, I'm sure it does. It's been around a while now, but Amazon Prime is again faster pro Amazon don't got a stranger thing. Amazon is like the Miami Heat. It's loaded on the front. Don't do that. No, no, I'm saying like the Miami Heat, the Heatles. It's like loaded on the front and with top-tier star level shoes. Netflix is like the Atlanta Hawks during that. That's disrespectful. Okay. You're talking about the Knicks today? Yeah. Nah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And Stranger Thing is Jalen Brunson.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00HBO is more like the Knicks. But what I'm saying is like, just off the strength of. And the Celtics combined. I mean, they dragon right now. The Bulls. They all of them combined. They got some BSO on that on that screen than if they're the Lakers right now. But that's disrespect. No, it's not. Okay. That's the truth. Um, just off the strength of Invincible, The Boys, and Fallout, Amazon Prime is like, they're front-loaded. People want to see those shows. They can have them shows flowing out the way they do on other um other platforms.
SPEAKER_01I'm with you, but Netflix is just if Game of Thrones wasn't on HBO. It doesn't survive. It doesn't have the budget, so they could only put it on the Amazon got the budget. They had their own.
SPEAKER_00Not Game of Thrones budget.
SPEAKER_01Bro, they have this show, the the um Lord of the Rings budget. Yeah, that's trash.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's trash because I think we- I wanted it to be what Game of Thrones is, and they tried their attempt, was they didn't have the budget because they the world building in Game of Thrones via HBO. Oh, it's nuts.
SPEAKER_01Was that what sells it?
SPEAKER_00It was amazing. They tried it with that Lord of the Rings um spin-off, and it just didn't land.
SPEAKER_01I just think it's too nerdy. Lord of the Rings? Yeah, out the gate. What they should have did, because I'm telling you, what made Game of Thrones so dope, and we're off on a tangent, but this is what we're here for. Right. They ease you into the nerd shit. Yes. They did not start off with elves and shit.
SPEAKER_00They didn't, but they get you invested early.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, with the characters and this guy, yo, what's going on at Winterfell? What's going on?
SPEAKER_00There's a guy who's running away from some ghosts or whatever that is on the wall. And then there's a guy smashing his sister, and then a kid getting thrown up a window.
SPEAKER_01I didn't talk about that white walking shit for mad long. Mad long? Because they were like, yo, we gotta prepare. We hey, this is what the story's about. Right. Let's let's get you intrigued first with the characters and stuff like that. They added the dragons late. Like, I just think the problem with that that um Lord of the Rings anything is you already have a giant hurdle to get a nigga like me to watch anything Lord of the Rings. Why? Because I this that fantasy shit. But Game of Thrones is fantasy. Yeah, but like I just told you how they eased me into it. So that means at some point you should have been like, nah, I'm good on this. No, but I was investing.
SPEAKER_00And you know what you're right? And Khalicia. That's a great point. I can't argue with it. What you want me to do? As soon as she was on the thing, they was like, yo, take your clothes. Yeah, that was elite milk, man. Elite milk. Yeah. No, you're right. Milk mustache. And that's you're not wrong. She looked better than um, what's her name? Her friend?
SPEAKER_01Who?
SPEAKER_00Khaleesi looked better than her friend. Um, what's her name? The slave girl.
SPEAKER_01She looked better than her?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Yes. Elite milk versus milk with a little caramel drizzle in it.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I don't know. That girl's fine too, though. She's fine too. Am I saying that? I'm not saying she's fine. Nah, but Khaleesi was different. Daenerys targeting. Yeah, she was different. But again. You know how many kids like my son goes to school with that. Or named Daenerys? Or Daenerys or Khaleese? Both. Yeah, it's crazy. She's evil. People are hilarious, bro. Khaleesi might work, but it's still like. No, those names are fire. I liked them. Until I run into a nigga named Cal Drogo, then I got a problem. You can't name me Kid Cal. I'm naming my son Drogo.
SPEAKER_00Slay every Khaleesi you see. Ah man. He took it. He took that pussy. He took it. His end was bad though. Yeah. He paid for it, man. Yeah, of course. And mind you, I love that we're on this tangent because he was the one who ended up being a simp in the infer. Like she won him over and he was. He was going against his own culture. That's what led to his death. He was killed that witch on the spot. Exactly. That's what led to his death. Yeah. Then she had the other dude, uh, one of the sons of and he was fiending. She was like, I'm out, I'm out with this.
SPEAKER_01Then they changed the actor, and I was confused for like a couple episodes.
SPEAKER_00Weird. But maybe it was money, I don't know. But then she ran to Jon Snow, and Jon Snow's only got to be like, I don't want it. Nah. That's his whole bag. She tried to get him to bow. He was like, nah. Then by the end of it, he was bound. This is my queen. But anyway, off on a tangent. But um, the reason why um HBO has a bigger budget. It's been around for years. You don't always have that. It still has channels now and it has its own streaming network. They the money's in terms of TV and film, it's HBO's got it.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Alright. So remember, this whole point was for me to push you on to something. Have you seen Euphoria?
SPEAKER_00I started it. Um, I couldn't get invested because uh I don't know, maybe I just forgot to watch it or I just didn't continue. No, it was a pandemic. How many uh uh seasons is it on it? This is gonna be the third and final season. Third? Oh, okay. I can do that. How many episodes per season? Probably about 10. A lot of uh a lot of uh Zendale. Mm-hmm. She does good acting in. I heard the nominated. Yo, yo, yo. I think it fits her face.
SPEAKER_01I was not What did you say? I think it fits her face. The Black Queen, shut up. Don't we talk about this? I hear what she I hear what she said. I'm giving you a chance to say. I said, I think it fits her face. What fits her face? Druggy. A druggy? I don't know what you mean by that, so I'm not gonna co-sign it.
SPEAKER_00She has the she has that little like, you know, frizzy hair that like based on her build, she's very thin, she has the small eyes, and she can play like drowsy easy. I don't know what you're gonna do. And then you have her hair to be natural. I'm not saying it in like a disparaging. I didn't say you was. I'm just saying it fits her.
SPEAKER_01But I don't understand what you're saying, so I'm gonna take that as disrespect. Because I don't understand what you're saying.
SPEAKER_00Listen, take how you want to, but I'm just saying it's okay. Apparently she's killing her.
SPEAKER_01She puts her foot in that show. That's what we want. This is a carry job.
SPEAKER_02Like the first, the first season. Yo, I'm gonna watch it.
SPEAKER_01It's phenomenal TV until it's just not. And I think Oh, it gets bad. I think I think her heart's not in it. She's beefing with Sydney Sweeney because she Sydney Sweeney became a star because of that show.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because of her tits. Yeah. Um, and the MAGA thing. I mean, I I think it's kind of stupid to not talk to your co-host over politics. I think that's stupid. To not talk to you? Yeah, like she's so she don't fuck with Sydney Sweeney no more. So she don't take no pictures with her. Then there's this Latina girl on there. She did the Buco fat thing though. I seen her recently.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah? You got changed up. You gotta see her. Oh my god. I think Eva Mendes did it too, but anyway.
SPEAKER_01There's there's there's a lot of eye candy on that show, but they're playing high schoolers, so it makes you feel weird on the inside. But you remind yourself these adults. Like the the girl, the the Latina girl I'm talking about, she's like 30 in real life. Yeah, she's a grown woman, and she looks amazing. But I I I don't know how she's gonna look in season three because like I said, she did that bookle fat thing. But the show has eye candy, it has drama, it has a lot of this new age shit. So that's what I'm worried about with you. Oh it got a lot. What does that mean? Whatever you whatever it means, dog. No, no, no, no. I want you to tell me what it means. I think you it might rub you the wrong way. It might be too much of the there's a lot of trans, there's a lot of homosexuality. That's the world we live in. So if you can stomach that, I think it's good.
SPEAKER_00It's crazy. I mean, like, I can watch, I've listened we've seen this stuff before. Oh, we were just talking about the boys. Yeah, but this is grounded in reality.
SPEAKER_01You're talking about like they were showing love scenes? All I'm gonna say is, dog, if you can. If you can stomach it, it's good television.
SPEAKER_00Let me say something real quick about sex scenes. Unnecessary, I know. I think I don't think they're all unnecessary. I think if it drives the story forward, it's necessary. But a lot of times we do sex scenes just for the sake of, I think, in order to sell this episode, we have to show some skin. I almost agree with that. For me, it has to drive the story forward. You can imply it and get by without it.
SPEAKER_01It's gonna be a scene that you probably gonna be upset that I told you to watch the show. It's gonna be a couple of them. Put our friendship on the floor. Yeah, it is, it is. But that's how good I think Zendaya is. So it's about Zendaya. No, her acting in the show is about Zend. She's in that scene? No.
SPEAKER_00Alright, so then what's the point?
SPEAKER_01No, but like, it's part of the show.
SPEAKER_00What episode, what season?
SPEAKER_01I don't remember. This is during the pandemic, dog. Sky. So, what I think is gonna happen this season, Zendaya's not in it. Like, her heart's not in it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So I think she's about to do a Leo. She's about to phone this shit in. Let's get through the season and that's it. They already said straight up that they're not making, like, they're not continuing. Drake was like a big deal in the show, too. Like, he was a like a producer, I think. Yeah? Yeah. Like when it first came out. I'm telling you, this show had a chance to be like de grassy, like culturally. Alright, alright. I'll go with you. Nah, it's it's it's way better after that. I keep hearing about you for you all the time. No, but it's already known. I think it's over, though. Like, I think they they had the pandemic ruined the show, and then the cast, like, they had everything, bro.
SPEAKER_00I think the average show can't really last past three or four seasons anyway nowadays, because you have to unless it has pre-written because now you have to create this new dynamic. And sometimes it's just dried out and there's nothing left. So this might be for the best of the show, honestly. Especially with what Zenday is gonna be doing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, now she needs it. Yeah, she don't need this no more. But um, I have I sold you?
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna check it out. But if you know, if I see something crazy, I'm gonna call and text you immediately.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and if you never want to speak to me again, I get it. Because it's that it's that graphic. Why? Really? I don't like we going through that. That's bad, dog. It's bad. You seen Oz?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02It's not real. It's bad. It's bad. It's bad. But it's it's dope. It's a really good show. If it's bad, Toji's gonna pay you a visit.
SPEAKER_01Damn, Toji. I mean, I know how to deal with Toji. We'll have this conversation on another episode. I know how to deal with Toji. Alright, um I think it's sealed. Yeah. But I think this is a good segue into um a question I actually have for you.
unknownAlright.
SPEAKER_01And I've been meaning to ask you this since the release of Sinners. Sinners is what kind of inspired this. Sinners is like the engine for our whole podcast. Like since the since day one, the Sinners is true. Yeah. This is a hard, hot movie.
SPEAKER_02Um you are a very grounded in your faith individual.
SPEAKER_01Probably more than anybody I know, honestly. Try to be here. Um, and that's that's a testament to you as a person spiritually and as a man.
SPEAKER_02How do you navigate content?
SPEAKER_01Like TV, movies, like I know Naruto's one of your favorite shows. The main character literally has a demon box in him that his father and mother sealed into him. Um, Sinners. That movie was very anti-church. Very like if we're being completely honest, yeah. I didn't like that. Um we j we spoke about Invincible, the the episode where they made they tried to make Satan a redeemable god character, and demons exist, but angels in heaven and you know Yahweh doesn't.
SPEAKER_02So Demon Slayer, Jesus guys and a lot of the demon stuff. Yeah. The antithesis of our creator. Right. How do you deal with it?
SPEAKER_01How do you manage?
SPEAKER_02What do you do? How do you spiritually protect yourself?
SPEAKER_01How can we do that? How can we spiritually protect ourselves?
SPEAKER_00So the main thing is like you said, you said grounded, right? So that's my anger, my faith. That's nothing comes before that.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00So once you establish that, let's say it's a relationship, which it is with the most high. Before you go out into the world, before you do anything, you're supposed to solidify your relationship. If you're married, you and your wife, or you and your husband, in the case of a woman, you're locked in. Oh, I thought you were about to go crazy just now.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00You're locked in. So every other relationship is secondary. Now, if you're a person, if you're a disciple of Christ, you're a Christian, that's the first relationship. It's you and the most high. Right? Based on that, you have boundaries in a relationship. You have understanding, you have conversations, and if the relationship builds to a certain point, then there's trust. So me, uh again, I've I grew up in the faith, and then at a certain stage, I had my own understanding and I made my own decisions. Yes, sir. Right? So when I watch content, which I've always been exposed to, my father's into action movies, him and my mom never like, but they would see certain things, but y'all can't watch this, but they were never afraid to let us watch certain things and explain it. Gotcha. Like just so you know, like, this is not real. That's the stuff of the devil, yada, yada. Gotcha.
SPEAKER_01Not to cut you off, because you hear a lot um in Christian households, like, oh no, we weren't allowed to listen to music, we weren't allowed to watch this. And then when they are they're adults now and they're into the world, they kind of get culture shock.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And some of them never make their way back to God because they're like, they get sucked into, they don't know how to navigate that. So it's actually dope what your parents did. Like they gave you the tools to be like how to combat this, we again.
SPEAKER_00Right, 100%. That's I think that's important that you ex-you might, I won't say expose, but you want to allow children to see certain things and then be there to explain and guide them through it. Yeah. Because if you don't, someone in the world would some idiot. Yeah, some fucking this is fun. Yeah, this is the good. This is your parents would trip. Yeah, that's what happens, and they usually fall to peer pressure. So, me, I had that experience growing up, and that that taught me how to compartmentalize things. So I can watch a show like Demon Slay and understand that. In no way can a human being cook a demon without, you know, real power. But at the same time, I can see it for its its uh its entertainment value, and then this is the overarching point is that God creates all. So even in things that are seemingly dark, the most high can speak and still give you a lot of great insight on what he wants or what he's trying to show you. So I'll give you an example in a show like let's go with um Naruto, right? My favorite character is not Naruto for that main reason is that a lot of his power comes from him being uh possessed by or having um or housing a demon called Karama.
SPEAKER_01Who's your favorite character?
SPEAKER_00It's really Neji.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they did him bad though.
SPEAKER_00They did him dirty. Um they had to though, because you can't leave someone like that around. He's too strong. Neji probably would have been the one to unlock the Ten Sing on him, just off rip. You know what I'm saying? But the reason why I liked Neji was because of the overcoming he had to do, the growth. I always like a character that starts in point A and has a redeeming story and goes to a whole different person. Self-sacrifice, too. Self-sacrifice again, that ties into you know the faith, if you know anything about that. So for me, when it comes to content, whether it's a movie like Sinners, I can see what's poison and I can see what there's some positivity there. And um, we call that eating the fish, spitting out the bones. And again, when it comes to content that's created for us to consume, they do have to, and this is one of those third-dimension forms.
SPEAKER_01Oh, can we go there, please? Because I had this theory of of there's a contract that these people make with demonic spirits, the devil, whoever you want to do. We're skipping straight to the fourth dimension. You know, ascribe it to. I think that when they put things in movies and television, it's because the part of the contract is we have to tell the truth. Yes. So if we're gonna eat babies, we have to tell you. I have to tell you somehow. Yep. Let's make a whole industry. Let's do Hollywood, let's do, you know, let's put it in movies. We told y'all, this is what we do, this is how we get down, and y'all chose to let us rule, y'all. Let it rock.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Yeah, yeah. 100%. And Sinners is the perfect example of that because the vampires can't come in unless you invite them in. Yes, sir. And they straight up at a certain point let you know, we're gonna come in here, we're gonna kill all of y'all, we're gonna do this, we're gonna do that. Just invite us in.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So they have to show you. Now, it's obviously a little more subliminal in all these films and stuff, but they'll show you a glimpse of what we do, and they'll show you a glimpse of positivity. They might mock it. Like, even with um Sammy in the film Centers, his father from the jump's like, you'll just put the guitar down and come sing the Lord's music. Had he done that, that whole night.
SPEAKER_01The whole night doesn't happen.
SPEAKER_00It's very simple. The whole night does not happen.
SPEAKER_01Well, it doesn't happen to him.
SPEAKER_00No, they came there for Sammy.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's true, yes, yes. The whole night though.
SPEAKER_00He's attracted there to that same spot for Sammy.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, you're absolutely correct.
SPEAKER_00Yes, they would have went elsewhere, you know? Um, but that that that idea, I forgot the name of it's called, but there's a they have to um present you with the truth. Um and because of that, it's in all of our content. When you can compartmentalize that at a certain level, you understand that when you watch certain things, what I'm looking at. Most people don't know what they're looking at, so the subliminal messages get in. Like um in um what we were just talking about, the boys. When they show you this massive party that all these people are going to, yeah. We just watch we just heard about Epstein Island. Yeah, this is real. These are big party. It's in every film. I was just watching um uh Wolf of Wall Street. No, no, no. It was um X-Men First Class. I love it. And uh That's a great movie. It was it's actually very underrated. And um, I think her name is Emma Frost. She um was she took control of the Russian general, and she was like, you know, controlling his mind and like making it look like she was having sex with him or about to. She was fire. Right. Great scene. It was a great scene, and they're showing you like what happens at high levels. Like there are a lot of stuff is sex-based. You know, it's like people having parties, that's how they build their relationships. They put it in these films, and then when we hear the emails coming out talking about these same things, we're kind of like, uh, this is too unbelievable for me to actually believe it, even though I know in reality they're telling us this is what we do. But I've seen it a million times in movies that that part of my brain it can be right.
SPEAKER_01It can be real. Yeah, because this is a whole but it's them actually telling you and desensitizing you at the same time.
SPEAKER_00So now you agree. So when you don't do anything, when nothing happens, yeah, you're saying I agree with it. So for me, again, back to the original question when it comes to faith and uh content, when you have understanding, the higher your understanding, the way you the better you can compartmentalize things. I could watch a show full through, see all the disgusting things and the crazy things, and go, okay, I know what that is. I know what this is, I know what the overarching message is, I know what they're trying to communicate. But again, that takes number one being locked in with the most high. So you know where your foundation, your anger is, and number two, being willing to do the research that a lot of times is unsettling. You know, they say ignorance is bliss. Most people who don't know anything are happy. But the more you learn, the less uh appealing a lot of things can be. So that's what I would say.
SPEAKER_01Alright, so I love horror movies.
SPEAKER_02It's probably my second favorite genre. And sometimes I'm like, this stuff is just not good. I gotta wash my brain after it. And then I'm like, I struggle with like it's always the demonic ones though.
SPEAKER_01No, that affects me the most. Alright. When it's just like zombies, aliens, I could deal. When it's the demonic. Like, remember um paranormal activity, right? I started off as just ghost. That was the last one. And then that shit started going. No, it's not a ghost, it's a demon, y'all niggas is dealing with. That footprint. And it's yeah, I was like, whoa, too real. This is too real for me. Yeah. But you see, yeah, that that that's when, like, I probably said this on a hundred podcasts. I I don't even know if I said it on this one, but it's like it's people that believe in these things, but then how do you not believe in the most high?
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Like, I don't understand that. That's a deception of it. And then and there's people who do believe, right? Like you said, like who believe in the most high, but they don't want to believe that there's yeah, nah, yeah, yeah, yeah. There's both. But I think a lot of people intrinsically know that stuff is real, and that's why people kind of shy away from it. Yeah, right. Like, I don't really want to talk about demons and stuff. stuff like that even though I'm seeing the steam in all of anime like we talk about comedy. They're just very they beat that into your head like yo curse spirits man.
SPEAKER_01It's cursed bears in this room right now like yo I'm saying they they push that on the hido running around he touched he kind of a balloon. Yeah that was a cruel that was a cool thing to do bro he was wild he that boy's friend from Atlanth like turning into a fat log yeah yeah that's yeah that's it I hated him like that they said that he represents uh humans like his cursed thing is because all of them are supposed to represent something like yeah the nigga with the um the volcano head obviously is on the nose um the other one that looked like a fish like that's like the the depths uh you know the sea he's humans he's humanity that's why he could do that that's sick because he represents that's what we do to what about the flower one though the bulba oh that's um like forest like the fear of like you know forest and stuff like that um yeah have you have you uh tapped into chainsaw man not yet everyone keeps telling me about that chainsaw man does that thing way better like really so in chainsaw man what do they call them in chainsaw man but these entities they manifest in the world people can see them though okay um because of fear so the things that are feared the most are the strongest right so but there's a fear for everything you know what I'm saying yeah so that's why there's so many different things so but the but keep in mind whatever's feared the most is the strongest and like um so they do that they do that really well they do that same concept a lot of these these people borrow from one another the only thing with Chainsaw Man to me this is my opinion the main character he's the opposite of a Mary Sue he's like unlikable untalented people probably making it interesting to me is just not and they got they they got their Sasuke guy in there too every every show got a Sasuke in there you have to have him yeah I just don't like the main character in Chainsaw Man maybe that's how it's supposed to be in the beginning but I don't how many seasons is it two three I think there's only two in a movie okay I think available right now it's dope though the animations and that shit is top tier the the the the power system is is is is simpler than Jujitsu kaizen. The character is more dull check it out I'm gonna check it out check it out it's hearing about it it looks nice but um yeah they do that concept really well too but um yeah so what what you know you already kind of gave the the the the the grounding yourself with you know the most high sorry let me say one more thing too to add to that is that also like I went to school for video and film production and I also was into writing since I could write um so my mind in terms of uh that is a lot of it is I know how it's created I understand how meticulous meticulously um the content is put together meaning that there's not one frame that you're gonna see that's oh that's just a throwaway frame you know everything that the install the director the writer there's no fat yep on this stuff because that shit has already been cut everything the the we get the most lean version of everything exactly so what you're seeing is a hundred and thousand percent intentional right there's no mistaking that from the names the costumes that you every little thing man once I'm gonna teach you or show you something once I turned that on I think maybe that's when I realized I really want to direct though it's because I'm like yo there's a science and a storytelling within like that's why dudes like yeah George R.R. Martin is so magnificent to me because he just made that up like he created this whole these people have history like they're real people like we are learning about their great grandparents and shit like this is like some guy's brain lore yeah and then not to get a little dimensiony I remember I read something one time that um the father of evolution what's that dude's name? Darwin yeah that he spoke to a demon or the devil that's where he got that idea so not to take away anything from these great people that's like are humans that talented?
SPEAKER_00Humans are but you gotta understand we're well again depending on what you believe but the truth of the matter is we are vessels that house a spirit and a soul so you can house other spirits you can be inspired by other spirits you know like what you said about a muse right yeah there's people we you know you say it like jokingly uh but there's people who have muses that are spirits and channeling and channeling actually dude Heath Ledger that's they've seen that's what happened to him like he could not shake the character the spirit of this joker Michael B.
SPEAKER_01Jordan said that about Killmonger oh yeah yeah I remember that he saw that Baba Lau shit yeah and so eagles about that character from Snowfall like they have to tap in something really dark and then they can't shake it you know so Franklin Saint Franklin Saint yeah I like that Franklin Saint interesting I like that character he he was he did a great job with that phenomenal him whatever spirit he was working with yeah bodies bodies bodies yeah yeah I'm telling you man I think TV I mean the cinema is cinema bro like I'm always gonna lean to that but there's something about in our generation there's something about because we just like not to bring him up again but the Jonathan Majors thing I discovered him through TV dancing Idris this guy's T he starts on TV and he's he's you know he's making his way he's making his way he was in uh F1 right next to Brad uh Brad Pitt Damn Sneezers yeah I didn't see that yeah but you see a lot of these movies just be on streaming that's what that's on Apple yeah they they don't get to breathe in the theaters anymore it's not gonna breathe in the theater we forgot about him when we were talking about uh you know actors like Damn Sneezers I think he needs to get some more skin in the game he has a show under his belt uh well he's gonna we'll see what he does because I think he's slated to be um T'Chala Jr. Okay in the next Black Panther what's his name's gonna be in there Denzel in uh Black Panther and they bring him back Killmonger because apparently uh my man can't make a movie without Michael B. Jordan I'm dead serious like they're like yeah Killmonger's coming back again. Yeah we gotta I mean it's comics so I get it yeah but it's like also But what are we doing with him?
SPEAKER_00Like he already shows up in the Astro I don't know they're gonna physically bring that dude back.
SPEAKER_01Alright okay they're trying to build the most win winningest cast ever or something like that? That's what they said?
SPEAKER_00That's the blurb I read I don't know if uh coogler said that out of his mouth who's the um Denzel supposed to be he's not gonna have an accent you're probably right I don't know in Wakani he's like listen I guarantee I guarantee he gotta stop that have a little more of that purple float and so you're supposed to be African I am you know what's funny about that I remember um the first time I heard Angela Bassett's accent in Black Panther I wasn't really impressed I'm not knocking her just I just didn't it's tough I don't think she did as much work as well Lapita doesn't have to do that much work but like to try um Chadwick Bozeman I think he did a lot of work on his oh yeah nah Chadwick was um special the girl who played um the first I can't remember her name but the one who played his first uh his I think her name is Deny Deny something that's a real name she might be African too though she cooked her role with her she had the little clicks and everything it flowed beautifully you know even um um Winston Duke Duke he killed uh being a Mbaku did a great job that was a great movie fire Black Panther I don't care anyone said oh the story was the same recycle no the movie bro the colors it was just it hit different everything I don't think that was lightning in the bottle I haven't seen something like that since centers and that's why you see I want to have this podcast one day and I don't know we keep delaying and saying we're gonna do this we're gonna do that I'm having this internal fight between Ryan Kugler and Jordan Peele in terms of what movies directly but like better who's better?
SPEAKER_01Yeah Jordan Peele I have I I Do you want to know why every tell me about it you just have to use the same guy okay that's fair he does though who Daniel Kaluga was he in um what's it what's the other one the the others us what are they one of us what is it called nah but he had Lupita in there in Winston dude so he used different casts it's like going to a different team winning championships yeah you know but yeah I I think we should do I think we should do it justice though we need to do like a good 40 50 minutes I I'm down for you I already know my answer Jordan Peel I I change every day I I lean peel because I think it's gonna sound sacrilegious I need cougar to stop talking so West Coast nah he can't he has to chill out he can't you're too old for this no he can't chill out you see that they're gonna hate this I have a I have a West Coast anti-biased I'm not anti-West coast I am and I am anti-West coast I'll stand on that and my reasoning for that is I have a reason for all the things I do chill out nah I don't like I don't like what they do to New Yorkers in terms of what they just kill us they killed Biggie Pop Smoke and Tupac all three of them were New Yorkers by the way I would hate on I would hate on me too if I was them if I wasn't from New York I would hate New York oh yeah me too I'm saying when you number one number consistently killing us though yeah because they don't do that to them because there's no reason to yeah I don't I don't like that and then the the Kobe D Wade thing most team I think Kobe Bryant took a lot of D Wade's first team defensive because his name was Kobe Bryant this is a uh film television and anime so I'm not gonna vote with you asked what I will say is this well they're well one of them was on the West Coast one's on the east so there's no way that could he could have taken anything from D Wade not and yeah it's guards period they don't split the conferences with the Kobe first team some of them I would say D Wade did it. No I'm not saying I used to love D Wade I'm not saying that D Wade deserved all of them but the ratio is like nine to one like some of those seasons you should have just get went to D Wade well you gotta be on the court and he used to get injured a lot so but again I'm a D-Wade fan when he was him but yeah D-Wade is like steals blocks like an undersized guard and he was getting more steals and blocks he also had other players in the East Coast who was just really good cards defensively it's not an East West thing that's what I'm trying to tell you it's the whole league.
SPEAKER_00Kobe Bean do you want me to do he played hard on defense I can't believe you're defending this but I'm not defending it I'm just making but I understand what you're saying that's that's my that's why I have a West Coast anti-biased but um all right thank thank you for giving us that revelation um before we get out of here um you wanted to do a quick recast right yeah we should get into that all right so um I was thinking about um Star Wars and New Hope we gotta start doing somebody's recast yeah of course we could do we could do this so the way you do it is it's gonna be recasting a the like maybe the top five headliner names you can go as far as you want with it but we'll go with the top five people and you're gonna keep recast them with really any actors from any but preferably modern if I wanted to be people that y'all know.
SPEAKER_01So the lead in that is um Mark Hamill as star as um as Luke Skywalker you got Harrison Ford as Han Solo uh Leia Organa is played by Carrie Fisher that's that's gonna be the tough we'll go with Darth Vader James O'Jones that's our top four and then our fifth we'll go with uh he's not in a new hope okay we'll pick Lando in general yeah all right so for my Luke Skywalker I'm gonna go with yo I don't know this actor's name but I want to see him in this role give me two seconds to find his name absolutely give me two seconds I already know who I'm going with what movie was he was he in uh he's he's in a he's in a his movie um catalog is kind of trash that's perfect um Will Poulter who's he in he was in Guardians of the Galaxy he plays um Adam Warlock oh okay yeah I like that he he's missing he's actually a really good actor but people don't know because he's most famous from uh playing a kid in one of these like campy white family movies I think it's the the movie when uh this guy's like I think the cartel forces him to traffic drugs or something whatever so he's like known for the like he has like a big glow up like physically like he he got he got jacked the show the bear is what sold me on his acting child yeah he's a great actor yeah I'm gonna go Will Polter as my um Luke Skywalker that's the same dude from uh no it's not from um what was I say from he didn't play Quicksilver right no this is different he looks in the same Will Polter Got oh yeah yeah that's my Luke Skywalker Alright your turn for Luke Skywalker anyone dang he just doesn't I mean I think it's easier if we go one one all right so for Luke Skywalker um he's kind of changed a little bit but I thought you had the same guy as me um I'm I'm gonna write down both of our uh picks he started off as uh what's the name of that movie he did um when he was a superhero with no powers I'm gonna find out superhero no powers live action yeah superhero with no powers he was getting beat up all the time like kick ass or something that's it yeah but at that stage because he was kick he was um quicksilver but at that stage when he was um playing kick ass he was a lot smaller he wasn't as big now he's kind of brolic and uh I think that he's quicksilver in the Fox movies no he's quicksilver in um Marvel in um Ultron oh yeah I don't know the name of that actor I know he was talking about that but I don't know the the name of him yeah I'm gonna find it real quick stars of that were Quicksilver okay alright um yes Aaron oh he also see he got really big when he was smaller he could have fit it Aaron Taylor Johnson he's actually um craven oh that's the same guy yeah he got really brawlic okay um but I thought that he could play it at that stage of his career when he was skinny and lanky yeah he could have gave you a good um version of um Luke Skywalker okay so that's our lukes I wrote down our lukes alright uh who we going next let's go with uh Carrie Fisher or um that's that's the toughest one um let's go to Han Solo Han Solo Han Solo so with Han Solo hard to replace this guy too I'm gonna go because you see the the thing about the character is this I'm gonna go with um my dude um that played um Elvis Alright I I think he has the acting chops to play on solo and you gotta be tall Han is a tall guy charismatic so I'm I'm gonna go with dude let me get his name right now also what vibe are you going?
SPEAKER_00Are you going with the same exact vibe as Star Wars? Like the same epic dun dun dun dungeon yeah yeah of course I don't know this dude's name because he's such a beast all right Austin Butler yeah I know this name Austin Butler yeah yeah okay that's a good one thank you very much he was he was kind of stuck as uh he channeled Elvis too much he was kind of stuck as Elvis for a little while it almost messed him up like in real life like he was walking around like with that accent he couldn't shake it for me telling you some people go really deep with that stuff yeah for me um and this is a tough one because I was thinking of two people and I don't know if they're gonna look good on screen together but um for Han Sol I was thinking Bradley Cooper.
SPEAKER_02Really?
SPEAKER_00I think he can pull off the charm and like you know the wise quirk the wise cracking and also be a little funny but also can play serious okay he can play that role I just oh I don't want to I don't want to go back on it but John what's his name John Kraninsky oh him yeah I think I'm gonna I'm gonna let you change it because I think he's a much better pick.
SPEAKER_01John yeah I was gonna say that was the other option I had too yeah he's a better pick. Yeah he's a better pick. Because he could definitely play the and he got that tall lanky John Crane. I'm gonna just put John Crane because I don't know how to spell Krasinski right now.
SPEAKER_02John Krasinski him from the office as your as your um Han Solo as your Han Solo now let's do uh Leia so Leia I think that is a hard one um but I have the actress who I think she's going to body um she's sh when Dune comes out she's going to body this character okay and it's um Anna Taylor Joy Oh I just saw her see if she can do it I think she is the upper echelon of um women actresses upper echelon Anya Anya Taylor Joy sorry Anya I don't think you can top that brother for the Star Wars universe I don't think you can top that brother hold on I got one for you actually and what's kind of perfect about this is because you played with John Cran before it's not gonna be too hard to watch them on screen together her name is yes Amy Adams Amy Adams okay and leave her with a red hair too okay she was in the man of steel she played Lois Lane she got the chops so we're gonna go with Vader next? Let's do Vader next is the voice.
SPEAKER_04Yeah I'm going with Keith David Keith this guy's going to either I'm going with Keith David I'm going Keith David that's tough he's he's he's one of the premier uh voice actors so who's Keith David again?
SPEAKER_01Oh he's everybody he was um I don't know if those who are familiar with ATL he was uh oh yeah no yeah yeah yeah yeah that's a tough voice oh man iconic voice he has a little bit of too much bop in his voice he didn't be like nah this is a nigga Darth Vader is definitely black yeah had to go black again nah so you're not wrong for that but if I had to do Darth Vader's voice over you're making me want to change my answer and then last we're doing um um Lando Lando right so I'll give you time with that while I find this guy's name I just want to make sure I get it correctly nah do your thing man do your thing what film was he in again I think the recap I'm I'm uh I'm gonna find a way for people to vote on this and see who has the better cast that's why I'm writing it down absolutely see who see who wins um but I I I do like my man uh my man Keith Davis what do you mean ain't no Jedi's here I don't want to mess up look I'm your father I'm your father let me find this guy's name I don't want to mess it up um I was just about to go crazy that's what I say Tyler Perry nah Tyler Perry imagine Medea talking even though and um my my Lando is easy I already got that give me one second yeah now take your time brother and we can we're gonna keep a history of the of these uh please do yeah see who wins these uh these recasts this is gonna be our first recast so what you guys are gonna do is I'm gonna post this on our Instagram at uh real talk dot podcast I'm pretty sure it's our Instagram let me let me let me mess this up now yep got it the real talk.podcast sorry I'm gonna post these up and have our uh editing crew that we don't have oh there we go yeah yeah and you guys are gonna vote and let us know who had the better you know team I'm going with Dennis Hazeburt as the voice of Darth Vader uh what's he was what was what was he in he's known as Zeke McCall from uh Love and Basketball but better known for all state commercials. Oh fake Denzel fake Denzel that's a Kanye caller that's a Kanye caller well Kanye is fake Kanye right now yeah that's a Kanye calling that like during his peak that that might be better than my man though you might got that one I know I got that one you might got that one I just didn't want to mess up his name I want to make sure they get their credit yeah that he's he might Be better than First Vader than uh Keith David. I'm still going with Keith David, goddammit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'll put respect on that. But you got the name?
SPEAKER_01With them damn Jedi. Dennis Haley. I got you. I'm gonna be able to see his gap through this through his mask. I should about to turn into a comedy because of that nigga, too. He changed the whole mission. Alright, so now we got Lando Calistic. This is easy. Lakeith Stanfield.
SPEAKER_00Lake Stanfield? Yes, Lando. Oh, this is you you were doing so well. I thought you had me for the first one.
SPEAKER_01Lake Stanfield. Two. Lake Stanfield. Eccentric. Remember who he was. Supposed to be charming. Yeah, yeah. Remember who he was in what'd you call it?
SPEAKER_02In Atlanta. He might be too eccentric, though. We'll see.
SPEAKER_01I think I think the reason why to me um the new the new Lando. Was it um Donald Glover?
SPEAKER_00No, no, he was. I think he just wasn't believable. No, he was too Donald Glover. And again, I that's what I mean by what I'm saying about this today. When you saturate what you saturate the screen with the same person too much, it's like I don't know. Like I'm looking at Charles Gambino for the sake of Charles Gambino.
SPEAKER_01He wasn't Lando to me. I think Lakeith becomes Lando.
SPEAKER_00But he's also now saturating the market too. He's big. You know what I mean? I haven't seen him in a while. Doesn't he have a show with somebody right now? Maybe I'm missing it. I haven't seen him in a while. He was in the Heart of The Fall, and that was a while ago. But I feel like he's leading something right now. He should be. So for my Lando Cal Rissian. I'm trying to sort through the roller decks. I had a couple names. But I don't want to use uh I was gonna use Adrian's elbow, but then no.
SPEAKER_01It's funny because um with AI, we could probably like literally make it.
SPEAKER_02Um so what I'll go with somebody who has the charm and would be able to be believable as um the best friend to Han Solo or a close friend to Han Solo.
SPEAKER_04I had John Crane, Han Solo. John Crane. John Crane.
SPEAKER_01It's not gonna play well. How you gonna beat that dynamic? Not gonna play well. I'm trying to think perfect dude.
SPEAKER_00What are you gonna do?
SPEAKER_02I think you need to have someone like oh, that's too much. Hold on. Give me a second.
SPEAKER_01Take your time, brother. Like I'm saying, we're gonna post this on socials at the real talk.podcast. That's our Instagram. I'm gonna make a TikTok eventually. Hey, listen, if you want to join in, like, we are building something here. If you if you just wanna, you know, have nothing to do and you you have a specific skill set, we'll take you. We are building something here. We're building a spaceship that's gonna fly us through the multiverse while we discuss all this nerd stuff. Remember, this we you know what cast and crew? Cast and crew.
SPEAKER_00I can use anybody I want.
SPEAKER_01Anybody you want, man. Go ahead. Bring Daniel Day Lewis, bro. Like you you wanna bring uh Seth Rogan? Like, what you what you what are you up to? I'm going Jamie Foxx. Jamie Foxx? Ooh, that's a good one. That's a good one. That's a good one. I'm going Jamie Foxx. That's a good one. That's a good one. I like that. I like that. That was a dagger to the heart.
SPEAKER_00Voters, casting crew, let us know what y'all think when y'all get y'all catch wind of this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, remember, this is our first go-around, you know. You know, this is like really like I like this. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I like my cast a lot. I like mine too. I think you're in trouble, bro.
SPEAKER_01Hey, listen, I think um Amy Adams can't hold a torch to um Anya Taylor right now.
SPEAKER_00You might have it, but I got you with Darth Vader for sure. No, hell no. I mean, yeah, maybe. Maybe. Jamie Foxx is gonna take everything. As soon as he gets on the screen, I don't care what John Cran is doing, we go in here with Austin.
SPEAKER_01I think you I think you lose that that that John Cran Austin Butler matchup, man.
SPEAKER_00You're thinking acting. I'm thinking about it. Remember, this is almost like an ensemble character. Yeah, that's campy. Playing off of each other. Yeah. I think Jamie Foxx is too much star power. No, because of the weight of the character or how much he's on screen, I think it's perfect.
SPEAKER_01I think a new hope. We threw him in there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's a remix, but I got you. Remember, my kept my my my look is when he's young. It's not brolic.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's that's gonna mess you up too.
SPEAKER_00By the end of it, when this is like when it's return to the Jedi, he could be brolic.
SPEAKER_01Nobody wants to see no brolic ass. We will polter, nigga. He got brolic too, by the way. Yeah, but he's not, he got lean brolic.
SPEAKER_00He didn't, he got that's the one when I have to give you. I think you got a better choice. That guy's too big. I almost go with um I was willing to go with Tim, but I'm I knew he was gonna go with Tim.
SPEAKER_01I didn't want to know that.
SPEAKER_00Nah, he's not Luke. He's Atreides, whatever you think.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't even think he's that.
SPEAKER_00And I actually thought of Tom, too, Tom Holland. I don't think he could pull it off, honestly. That's that's that's crazy. I don't I just don't think he's gonna give you the same like bewildered, I'm a lost kid.
SPEAKER_01Well, actually, that might be played yourself. Yeah, he played yourself. He played himself. It's all right. It's the Tom. I'm not gonna believe when he becomes a gentleman. This guy. It's the Tom Holland. Hey, it's all right, Tom. I got your back, bro. I didn't pick you because it's too on the nose, it's too easy. Nah. I think Will Poulter honestly needs some more gas.
SPEAKER_00I think your choice is way better than Tom, but you might be right. I think I think Will Poulter needs some gas. Jamie Foxx and yo, it's gonna be a tough. Yeah, we got that. We got it.
SPEAKER_01But listen, cast and crew, we've done it. Y'all go out there and vote. Um, yeah, this is another great episode. This is our first episode, actually, if you really think about it. And uh, you guys, you're you're here with for this journey. When we get the Oscar, it goes to the whole team, right? That's how Oscar go? When the movie wins it?
SPEAKER_00When the movie wins it, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's what that's what we're going for.
unknownAll right. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01All right. When this wins the first podcast, Oscar, because that's what we're gonna do. Then we win. And the whole casting crew gets it too. Thank you. Absolutely. Um, GR, do what you do best, man. Get these people up out of here, man.
