BIG THRAGGA !! By Rotten Apple Productions

SPEAKER_02

First and foremost, quiet in the set, quiet in the set. You guys are too loud, man. You guys are too loud. Welcome to another installment of the Real Talk Podcast. I'm here with the man that has been missing in action for 14 weeks. He has to explain himself to you guys. 14 is crazy. I'll give him the space to do so, but I've always been here. GR, what's going on, bro?

SPEAKER_01

What's going on, Casting Crew? Your boy is back. Let me first start by formally apologizing for my absence. I had some pre-planned trips and situations that I had to attend to, and I didn't plan it out well enough to leave Tom in between to make sure I came and showed up on set to do my part. So I apologize. I will do my best not to let it happen again because I am human, but I will not leave you guys hanging again. Nor will I leave my great co-host, Steve. I'm hanging either. That's not enough for me. Not enough. That's enough for them. But it's not enough for me. But it's fine. So I gotta give you the media trained version.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I want to see your acting chops. Let me see what you would say to you know Christopher Nolan if you missed his set. If I missed it, missed uh if I didn't show up on stuff with Christopher Nolan. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's a little I mean, yeah. This isn't that, but I mean I would probably uh to be honest, I would uh I would definitely embellish on why I wasn't there. It's not gonna be because I had two trips. It's gonna be, listen, I uh I got hurt, but that's no excuse. Um I made an obligation. I had I have an obligation and I gave you my word, and I am a man of my word. I will definitely make sure that doesn't happen again. And I just want you to understand how committed I am to this project, to this vision, to your vision, and what we've done so far and what we plan to do. Um from here on out, you got all of me.

SPEAKER_02

It's professional right there. I respect that. I respect that. Alright, GR, what's been going on, bro? What's been happening? What you've been uh getting yourself into, bro? What's what's going on out there in the world? Traveling, man.

SPEAKER_01

Traveling is is dope. It is dope. I know it's I feel like it's a new trend now, but I think that traveling is in the human nature or in our nature to explore the world and see and experience different things. And I think it's valuable, especially with everything we're talking about.

SPEAKER_02

Sounds like colonizing a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely not. I said discovering new things, not new people and lands and taking over and making them do what you want them to do.

SPEAKER_02

What do they call it? Manifest destiny? Nah, nah, nah. The gold rush?

SPEAKER_01

I ain't about that. Nah, nah. Alright, man. I'm willing. I believe in going to see other cultures, seeing what it's about, exploring, discovering, and then I go back to where I'm from. Where I'm good at.

SPEAKER_02

You don't take anything with you?

SPEAKER_01

I may look at life, I might take perspectives. Perspectives. Perspectives. Gold and gold, no. Jewel. I might take a wife. Okay. Not someone's wife. I might get it.

SPEAKER_02

All right. I gotta watch you now. Nah, nah, but you're not. You know what I mean? Like experience the coast. I dig added. It's like it's everything we're doing right now, you know. Yeah, yeah. We're adding to the multiverse. We're out here. Um, it's been a lot. It's been a lot. We've missed a lot. Yes. But we are gonna catch everybody up, and they've been waiting. They've been anticipating what we had to say. I think um, I think I want to just start with Invincible.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, please.

SPEAKER_02

I think that's the best place to start. Um it's done. It's wrapped. We got the finale. This season's wrapped, yeah. Yeah, and um, I'll let you go first.

SPEAKER_00

Listen, first and foremost.

SPEAKER_01

My man Mark. My man Mark was so traumatized after that experience. And you know, we look at it as a we look at it from the animation, we're just viewers. But if you put yourself in his perspective and you look at the totality of what his experience as a superhero with his father has been, you easily realize I would be just as traumatized, if not more. My man has gotten beat and destroyed by many people and got it up and kept going, kept going. This is the first time he fought someone and was like, yo. And matter of fact, I'll give you context. When his father, one of the greatest episodes ever, when his father is just giving it to him. Pause. Pause. Yes, you're pause. But the point is, when he's beating the brakes off his son, right? And he's talking about, you're gonna outlive everybody. He knew for uh for a fact this person I'm fighting, my father is way stronger than me. I cannot defeat him. Right? And in the moment he fought Thrag, he looked at his father and said, How do we beat him? His his father said, Mark, ain't gonna happen. Not gonna be able to do it. And then immediately after that, yo. So that part let that that's the trauma. Because you know, as kids, we all know our father, we think our father's the strongest man in the world. Yep, and then one there's one day we realize he's human. And that's where your paradigm shifts. So for him to see his father, who's just a super alien, be easily handled, uppercut down or punched down, uppercut back up, and then a hand right through the um the sternum. That traumatized him. Yes. And uh that last meeting in the sky. Oh oh, I just want to roll back for you attacking for the finale of the episode, but um what's this girl's name again? Eve. I don't know if she really had the abortion or not. Maybe she really didn't. Yes, she did. But that's confirmed. She's wild. She's a villager my killer, it's confirmed. She's a villager.

SPEAKER_02

She technically killed Concord. No, she did not. Conquest shut up. That's an L for that whole family. If you conquer Shrugged that off. If she don't have that plot armor Super Saiyan God moment. Don't do that.

SPEAKER_01

Nah, shots are being fine. This is this is what we're not gonna do. I'm not gonna allow you to do it. She went Super Saiyan Blue out of nowhere. Oh, she did. Super Saiyan Pink, my bad.

SPEAKER_02

She had a sense of being. That's what really happened.

unknown

Nah.

SPEAKER_02

She lets you know what it is. My boy Mark was crying.

SPEAKER_01

She let y'all know y'all niggas is weak. He prophesied. He said, Yo, tomorrow you're not gonna be alive. That was tough. But either way, Eve, she uh he was gone for what, a year? No, it was a few months, right?

SPEAKER_02

Funny enough, in the comic, and I'll get to that, he was gone longer, I believe. But it was it was only a couple months.

SPEAKER_01

You read the entire comic?

SPEAKER_02

You told me not to.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, did you or no? And I did. You read the whole thing? Yes, I had to. You see, y'all mad at me for leaving for a couple.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you asked me not to, dude. You said for the casting crew, don't and I I did it was a page turner.

SPEAKER_01

Of course it is, because it's a page turner. But it's a great story. Um, I do know about some of the content in there, though, and I know Eve is trifling at a certain point. But the point is, he was going for a few months.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Eve let herself go, and he didn't that's how you know Mark is real. He went right to it. He said, I don't care about none of that. She said it after the fact. He went right to it. Said less let's work on baby number two. So shout out to Mark for that. But the trauma was the biggest thing for me. Debbie is going, of course. Like this is why I said what I said in the first couple episodes. I was like, watch how you talk to me, Debbie, because the truth of the matter is, you already know you coming, like you're coming back to me. I don't know who Paul is.

SPEAKER_02

Paul is what we're too not too much on Paul, bro.

SPEAKER_01

What do you mean? Why? What's the problem?

SPEAKER_02

Paul Paul got Superman's girl. Paul is a great character.

SPEAKER_01

It gave her back. In no work.

SPEAKER_02

Gave her back.

SPEAKER_01

As soon as he saw that he was still alive, he's like, oh yeah, that's why I didn't work out with him. That's not what happened. Nah, that's exactly what I think. I thought they were still together.

SPEAKER_02

He was like Paul's like, nah, we better as friends.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but you see, you see Omni Man show back on Earth.

SPEAKER_02

You can have your girl back, Omni Man. He thought the only reason he messed with it, because he he thought he was never coming back. You can have your girl back, Omni Man. Superman, have your have Lowe's laying back. All right. I've been there, done that. That's that's what that's what my man Paul. And Thrag don't want to see Paul, honestly.

SPEAKER_01

So um after all the trauma that happened, first of all, we're gonna we're gonna change Thrag's name, but we don't get to that. Um after all the trauma happened, Debbie goes to space to go see her son, her um stepson. Her son? It's not her son. Her son birth him.

SPEAKER_02

So she had him she had him. Listen, you can't listen, you're not her son. So this is how it works, right? That's not her son. If you get a nigga, uh a child young enough. You said a name. I was gonna say little nigga. Yeah, that's your son. That's your child. We can agree. As men, we will we will never see it that way because we don't have that in us. Women have that. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. That's her child. You can't tell that's not a child, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But it's not her child. No, in truth. I'm talking about from a woman's perspective. I'm talking from in truth. I can't I can't talk about women's.

SPEAKER_02

Of course, I can talk about a woman's perspective. Absolutely. You got it, you got it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just saying that that's not her actual son. No, yeah. But I understand why she wins.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'll just point out it's not her son. But side note, this is why men could never do that. Infanticide is a thing in the animal kingdom. Yeah, of course. Lions are. Obviously, we don't do that. Even though people don't play around. None of them do. Historically, we have played it. We have been infanticiders, but the point is, a little fun fact. You know, women or girls who are raised around men who are not their father, they actually reach puberty faster.

SPEAKER_02

That's gangster.

SPEAKER_01

Because they're around a man that's not their violent. I know what you put. You know why. Yeah, of course. So that's another That's the subtext. Okay. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? So, like, this is why again, man.

SPEAKER_02

Oliver's a boy, so.

SPEAKER_01

I know. But he's apparently attracted to lobsters and stuff like that. That's not his fault. Because he's being raised around a lobster that's not his mom. So that's exactly what that was. Do that. You see? Anyway, Debbie went to space. And my boy Nolan's sliding back in there. Nolan's a dog. He's not there yet. Nolan's, he's gonna get back in there.

SPEAKER_02

We know that. Nolan let um Cecil talk to him crazy, though.

SPEAKER_01

Cecil is due to Cecil's my guy. Cecil is due to get his jaw slapped off. He is so due for that, bro. Ain't happening. Because he's he's he's the Batman of that universe. He is not the Batman of that universe.

SPEAKER_02

He is the Batman of the universe is that black dude.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no. I'm not talking about like the talking about in terms of the mentality, but I'm always a step ahead. Like I'm always I'm planning out your week. Like when Mark woke up with that thing in his head, that was Cecil being a genius. I honestly was foul.

SPEAKER_02

Cecil is it's disrespectful to compare him to Batman because he would have had the scourge virus already. He Cecil is is he would have did that same thing to um Batman wouldn't have had the scourge virus either though. What?

SPEAKER_01

Batman's not on that level. I'm talking about Batman as in he likes to. If I'm working with you, oh he has a weakness for all of us. Yeah, no, of course. That's how Cecil moves.

SPEAKER_02

Then why is Cecil let Conquest off the hook?

SPEAKER_01

Because that was his human hubris. That was his Yeah. Batman would have had three of them shits. Why is Joker still alive?

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's a different thing. That's a psychological thing. It's the same thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but he thought he could keep he can keep Conquest Conquest at Big.

SPEAKER_02

But Mark needs one of those things. He should have had three of them. That's the writing stupidness.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but you know, that's you know. Or maybe, maybe that's just the Mark thing. Maybe Conquest is like, this joint don't hurt me at all. Nah. I don't know. We don't know.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I read I read the comics.

SPEAKER_01

Conquest is my guy.

SPEAKER_02

Um, Conquest went out like a chump.

SPEAKER_00

In terms of the fight?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. How do you go out like a chunk? I got choked to death. A little nigga. Come on now.

SPEAKER_01

That's a little nigga?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. He's not. I mean, I got a lot of respect for Mark. Like I said, I'm uh I'm a comic reader now, so I have a little bit of a disrespect. I put up my pinky when I talk about Invincible now. I'm I'm educated, but um what else you got? Um I want to talk too, bro. Oh, yeah. Um, you've been talking the whole time. I know.

SPEAKER_01

Listen, saying foolishness talking about Paul. Nah. He's still working with Debbie close too.

SPEAKER_02

Debbie's talking to him about that nigga looked at Debbie's lots of players. He was like, We better off. We better have his friends. He made that decision. You know he's saying by saying that.

SPEAKER_01

Like, she's not even allowed.

SPEAKER_02

Nah. Oh, see, I don't like when you do this. Do not play with Debbie. Debbie in the comics is whack. Debbie on the show, she's a she's good. The only reason I respect Debbie is because of the voice actress.

SPEAKER_01

Um I love Sandra.

SPEAKER_02

And she's a much okay.

SPEAKER_01

She's a bunch of what?

SPEAKER_02

Nah, let me. I I wanna I'm I'm I wanna slow off.

SPEAKER_01

So lastly, we're not calling Thrag Thrag no more. That's Big Draga. Big Thraga. Big Draga. You don't want to see that man. That was crazy. Mark saw him in the in the sky and was like. I like that scene a lot. I love that scene. I love that scene because again, like I was telling you about what makes Thrag different than a lot of our villains. They're typically either way on the smooth side and I don't want to fight you, and uh or they're way too on the I'm just gonna bash you, the conquest type of style. He is a a very uh well-put together balance of I lose my mind sometimes. Like when you destroyed my planet, I cried, uh I split open a asteroid and I killed that dude. I showed you who I was. But at the same time, in that scene, he gave you the complete opposite and said, you know what? Let's talk it out. We're gonna be here, we're gonna live amongst you, wear your clothes, we're gonna chill out, we're gonna use y'all to breed straight up. Or we can go to hard route and I could decimate your plan, I could enslave y'all. We could do that.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. Um he really there was really no ultimatum. He already he already planned it out, he already knew the answer. He knew Mark couldn't really resist.

SPEAKER_01

Um very gave him they gave um Thrag a very Magneto-esque type of they brought basically brought Magneto and um Charles Xavier together in terms of ideology. I can dig that. Like I don't want I love my people is the core of both of them. I'm about battle, Magneto. But if I can do it the peaceful way, I'll that's an option too. But lastly, just that little quick skirmish just shows you it's just it was amazing. He um he came with another punch, he was punching him in the face, and this time he just like he ate them. Like the power, you got to see the the gap. The gap, yeah, absolutely. And then the fact that he didn't punch Mark, he just mushed him away. And now he came back again, he's like, Stop. And Mark stopped. When you tell a grown adult stop, and they know like I'm gonna stop because like you sound like you're getting a little angry now, that's why he's big Thraga.

SPEAKER_02

All right, big Thraga. Big Thraga. I don't know how I feel about that, but Big Thraga.

SPEAKER_01

I think it's not Jamaican, but he getting a pass. I'm not Jamaican either, but the point is, listen, and then lastly, him telling him, like, yo, in a way, you're a saving. That's some psychological hole. I'm making you feel good about you saved everybody. Very Lex Lutherish. Yeah, I got it. This is why I like the the character build of Thrag. It's not just I'm just a powerful guy, I'm also extremely divisive. Thrag is dope. And lastly, I love the way they played it and the acting of Mark just Yes. He knew like my dad can't beat you, I can't beat you. I watched my brother get his jaw slapped off. We tried everything which we and we can't beat you, that's the problem. Yes. And that's I loved it. The episode was great. Okay, what about the season in totality? How do you feel about the season? Outside of that one uh devil episode or hell episode, which um I saw the uh the rankings, or not the rankings, but the IMDB the rating for each episode, and that episode was abysmal in terms of its rating, which made me feel like good. I'm glad everyone's like, this is stupid, this is dumb filler. Made no sense. But the uh the season overall I thought was phenomenal. I agree. I thought they paced it um w very well because it escalated quickly and then it got to this point where and and I love the way they you know the whole fraud thrags of fraud. No, that was that was perfect. Because everyone was like, he ran off with a skull in his hand and the very next episode he was like, see, I tried the chill route, I'm gonna come attack y'all. But now y'all came to me, which is my plan, but also I'm gonna show you who I am. And it was good. I love I love the season. I uh give me a rating though, out of ten. Eight point six.

SPEAKER_02

That's pretty low.

SPEAKER_01

That's not low, that's really good. The reason why the it's not like a full nine or even a ten is um some of the the cat um tech jacket stuff is like what was season one for you? Season one probably will be a nine because the thing was any season one is you have to get me. This is this is the proverbial uh first date. That first it second date don't even gotta be that good, but the first date lives in your head rent-free. And uh you said you're gonna rewatch it, right? Oh, right? Rewatch the whole thing. And that first episode, I think it's the first two episodes. I think the very first episode is when Omni Ma um Omni Man um he rolls up on the The Justice League, the the Justice Society, Justice Clan, the World League and smokes him, and you're like, I thought this guy was a hero. Yeah. It was amazing. Anyway, but that's why I give it.

SPEAKER_02

So I agree with 99.9% of everything you said. Obviously, the traditional just the um animation was a little wonky. Oh, in terms of that, yeah. Yeah, that's another reason it's not a nine or a ten. I think the season was a nine, though. So it's not far off. For me, you know, it's not, but I was shocked to hear eight. Eight point six.

SPEAKER_01

Still an eight.

SPEAKER_02

Leading with an eight. That's leading more towards a nine, though. Yeah, it's still an eight.

SPEAKER_01

I want it to be a nine, but I'm saying in the book, it's an eight.

SPEAKER_02

You you bring that home that rapport card.

SPEAKER_01

You're not telling your dad you got a ninety in that class. If I tell my dad I got an 86, though, he's gonna be like. You should have got a 90. Should have got a 90. He would have preferred 82. But if I got an 84, then it's like, you couldn't get an 85. 82, he's like, ah, you got an 80. Exactly. 86? Why didn't you just get a 90? 86 is like you have potential for now. Yeah, come on. You could have got exactly that shit. Was a 90. You could have got a 90.

SPEAKER_02

I gave it a 9. Um, the only thing for me was again the animation. Um, yeah. I I loved everything about it. Uh, I was big uh thrag as a fraud. I'm still big Battle Beast is a fraud. Um they're doing the same thing. No, of course. I know, I know, I'm reading. I liked I like to be interested in it. All right, so yeah. But um I'm not gonna spoil anything. I just want to talk about the comics up until this point and some of the changes that they made for the better and for the worse. So I think this is gonna be a problem down the line, but the Thrag in the comics is weaker. Omni Man in the comics is stronger than the show version.

SPEAKER_01

He's stronger than um No, not stronger than Thrag.

SPEAKER_02

He's just stronger. Oh, they made Thrag super strong. They made him too, in my opinion, they made him too strong in the show because when certain events Give me an example. When Mark hits him in the fight, the very first one we hit him. Yeah, he bleeds. Okay, okay. When him and Nolan fight, he bleeds. Okay. Mark can't damage him. So how there's gonna be a power creep. As a Dragon Ball Z fan, I know all about power creeps. It's gonna be a power creep. I don't know how they're gonna justify it though, which in my opinion, that's where they're gonna get themselves into trouble. I do understand why they did it though. So the creator of the show, Robert Kirkman, he is one of us. He's a nerd. He's into this stuff, he hears the chatter. Before the show, even before Thrag was ever invented, like not invented, but before Thrag came out to the masses, he was already talking, oh, Thrag could beat Superman, no problem. So That's what he said, yeah. Like did they they yeah, um in that universe, of course. So it's just Mark Mark also beat Spawn in the comic, like the actual spawn. Didn't he have a crossover with Spider-Man? Yeah. Um That was fire. Like do that. The the liberties that you get in the comic, it allows the the world building to be a little different. One thing that also happened in the comic that uh you're you're gonna hate if you ever read it, because this is one of the very good points that you made about how you know Virtual Mice would just never be enslaved. Omni Man got enslaved. But funny enough, the I think they're called the Thraxons, not the flo the f no, no, the ones who we began. The time niggas, yeah. He got enslaved by them. How he when he went over there, they enslaved them.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that was the difference?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so you see how they enslaved him, like what was the meaning? They they had a way, and this is this is where I think Robert Kirkman had to check certain things because I I like the change better in the show. In the show, he just went over there and dropped them, like he destroyed the civilization. That's it. It's one of Omni Social And mind you, Omni Man is stronger in the comic. And in the comic, he got enslaved because they had a way to nullify his powers.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Now, the reason why I think he made that change was okay. Remember Robot and Monster Girls trapped over there. Why couldn't he get that same technology and use that in the future events? If they have an ability to shut down a Vilchamite, that's a pretty you know, McGuffin that I can have any time. So I guess he wants to remove that out of the universe. So it's not in in the future, it's not like well, I think there's just the same thing with the mark thing we just spoke about. It's like, yeah, if you know that sound affects these guys, you can't capture it. Yeah, why would I not cap exactly? So I think he kind of okay, let's just remove that whole plot because I don't want to have this magical switch to shut off a Vilchaman and we never use it again. True. So yeah, like little changes like that. Oh, also Omni Man, when he fights the Justice Society, I'm just calling them that because I don't remember their names. He doesn't get harmed at all. Like he like the he kills them so fast and so ruthlessly in the comic. They weren't in the show, Omni Man, like he had a couple of moments where he could have lost that fight. You you do that fight ten times, he probably loses two of them out of the ten. In the show, I mean so in the comic.

SPEAKER_01

I hear what you're saying, though, gosh.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, in the comedy, he took no damage, like they were just like fodder, like they they couldn't hurt him.

SPEAKER_01

I I do like the idea of Nolan being strong. No, he's way stronger than the comics, you know, based on what we've we're speculating. Exactly. So you know, he should be really strong.

SPEAKER_02

Um without spoiling, um Also, I like what they did with Mark in the comic. Mark does not take no damage until the fight with his dad. So he thought he was invincible. So it made sense. It made more sense. The first time he takes damage is his dad. And then after that, it's Battle Beast. And Battlebeast it made sense. It's like that showed the comic readers oh, Battlebeast gotta be as strong as Nolan because nobody else can hurt Mark. In the whole thing. So it's like, again, I don't know why that change was made. Maybe for just a oh, I want to see this character become invincible. I want to see the growth. I guess that is it's a better payoff, I guess. I'm assuming just from a writing perspective.

SPEAKER_01

I think. Well, go ahead, Mama. No, no, no, no, no. Go ahead. I think they do that. They want the show more blood and gore for uh one reason because it's gonna make people take this, the make adults take the show on it more than that.

SPEAKER_02

No, but not to cut you off, but the comic has, to me, way more blood and gore, because Mark is dishing out But I mean letting it happen to him. To him, yeah, specifically, yeah. Okay, that's fair enough. But um, yeah, he he was like pretty much invincible until he fought his dad, and then he wasn't challenging in until Battle Beast. And um, yeah, um there's some more spoilers, but it's like post-episodes. So I don't want to, these aren't spoilers to me, these are just differences. We all saw what happened already. But I would say that the three biggest changes that they made, some for the better, some for the worse, uh, is just I want to see how they deal with Thrag. Because it's comics. We know what's gonna happen. Thrag is eventually gonna get dealt with some way, shape, or fashion. I don't want to spoil it, but um, I just don't know how they're gonna get there realistically after showing him so dominant. Yeah, the power and his motivations. Um Mark's uh Nolan lies to Mark about the Vilchamite thing. About what? And Anissa lies to Mark about the Vilchamite thing. About what? They don't tell him the truth that yeah, we're evil. We come here, we dominate, we we by force. They tell him the opposite, and it's very funny how the story ends because they tell him, like, no, we come to planets, like Earth is like barbaric, like these people they need guidance, like they that's what we do all around the world. We are we're we're merciful, like we help people, we don't harm anybody, we don't subjugate people, we we help them out, and it ish like it's easier for show mark to tell his dad, like I'm not doing that, than it was for comic mark because comic mark thinks his dad is doing a good thing, right?

SPEAKER_01

So he's still like Well, you know what I can say? I'll say this. And the show did a good job with the whole multiple multiple universes. Maybe that's what happened in every other universe.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. So another thing the show does, I don't know if the comic is gonna do it. I'm sorry. Another thing the comic does, I don't know if the show's gonna do it, they flesh those guys out way more. So you can see why exactly like one I would love that. One of the one you gotta you know, read it. It's pretty dope. They killed Debbie. Now, one of the marks kills Nolan straight up. Like, nah. And it's crazy to me again, because remember, our mark can't beat Nolan. That's what I'm saying. Like, what's good with this mark? Yeah, now he beats him, he kills him, and he takes over the planet. I think that might be Mohawk Mark. I think he's the one that kills Nolan. Some of them thrag doesn't exist. Some of their university thrag doesn't exist. Some of them, I think uh Conquest does. It's it's a lot. It's a there's a they flesh out the backstories way more because again, it's a comic, you have more time. Yeah, it's a really it's a turse paint uh paste turner. I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Physical copy? No, no, I read it online. Oh, okay. I'm a I'm a um I'm a I'm a pirate. But I would buy it. I would buy it. Alright. Yeah, but it's it's a it's a really good read. The the there's a Spider-Man's in it, Spawn is in it. Um the characters, they don't have to worry about copyright. So one Wonder Lady or whatever her name is, she's pretty much Wonder Woman. War woman, yeah. Yeah, she like you get a lot more and there's something that he did in the comic. I don't know if he's gonna do it in the show. I did not like with Bulletproof, and I did it, I did some research because I'm a nerd now. Oh, I know what Bulletproof did. That's a braids. Yeah, but the thing that he did, I'm gonna just put it like this. When Bulletproof when uh Invincible was coming out, Miles Morales was was coming out. Like he was becoming popping.

SPEAKER_01

In terms of the comic?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the character. Okay. And he remember, Invincible is also kind of like the boys, it's a parody of superheroes. Like it takes a lot of the tropes and it flips it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Robert Kirkman, I he didn't say this, but just going off of how he treated Bulletproof and Mark, he does not like Miles Morales. He doesn't think that the mantle of Spider-Man should pass should be passed or even messed with. He thinks there should be one Spider-Man. And it's nasty. It's very I don't want to be too woke, you know. Like I like I love, I love, I'm a fan of all this stuff, and I don't want to turn this into, oh, if it's not a black creator, I'm not watching or listening to it. But it was just too purposeful how he played with the character. It was unnecessarily targeted. Yeah, I was like, oh, you really didn't like this Miles Morales thing. Like you really wanted Spider-Man to just be Spider-Man. So other than that, it was it was cool. A lot of the characters are a lot more fleshed out. Debbie sucks in the comic compared to the show. Show Debbie is is a is a is a is a more fleshed out character. Um how I'll explain it is Comic Debbie, things happen to her. Uh Show Debbie, she she does things. That's the two biggest differences to characters to me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You gotta when you put on TV, you have to make adjustments.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she's like she's like an alcoholic after the whole thing. She never really recovers until he comes back. That makes sense. And no, it does, but I just prefer the the show version of like, you know, I I can step up. I'm I'm a person. I'm not just a I'm not a pet. I'm gonna prove that I'm not a pet. Yeah. No, no, the the comic Debbie is good writing. I'm not even trying to shit on the writing. No, she's still a she's still a character. No, it probably does make more sense. But I just like the idea of there's a version of this person that doesn't let this defeat them. Like, you know what? I'm not a pet. And I'm gonna show you that I'm not a pet. And I and I and I definitely enjoy that. But Debbie, you are a pet. I I don't I don't agree.

SPEAKER_01

I think Debbie's a pet compared to what this guy is. Like I can throw you anywhere if I want it. But the point is this um with Debbie specifically, just to kind of piggyback off what you're saying, like it makes more sense that she would, you know, be in a destitute situation or mindset because this is you know, we talk about how women are into hypergrammy or whatever. You're talking about Omni men, this is who your husband was. You think you're just gonna go to a regular guy named Paul now? That's what I mean by Paul's of the people. Don't keep don't mess with my man Paul's. I hear what you're saying, but the point is, like, first of all, in real life, Paul is not a real man. You have two kids that are one of them is purple. Let's start there.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I meet a woman, I'm like, oh, you from work? Let me see. You got kids? Oh, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna play.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that would have been. Why is he purple? Why is he purple?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Paul's a high value man, too.

SPEAKER_01

And why is this guy flying around? Yeah, he don't gotta deal with that. Who you say your husband's name is what?

SPEAKER_02

Omni man? Oh, the guy that committed uh genocide on this planet? Massacre? Oh. Yeah, I'm cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm good.

SPEAKER_02

I'm cool.

SPEAKER_01

Actually, I'm gonna resign and I don't want you to talk to me again. That's dangerous waters. He's not a real human. But the Paul.

SPEAKER_02

Paul got something you don't know about, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Paul has a great writer who academic character is down for this. Paul got watched. Or Paul is an idiot.

SPEAKER_02

When Paul and Thrag 1v1, you go see. Nah, I just made that. I was about to say, I'm never watching this show again. Nah, but what if he was a what if he was a secret Vilchemite you didn't know?

SPEAKER_01

That'd be tough. I'll ride. I'll go with it. Okay, okay. Why was his purpose, though? Like, why would you go there and sleep with another Vilchemite's wife?

SPEAKER_02

You go to see.

SPEAKER_01

Let's start with why is your son purple? Yeah, nah.

SPEAKER_02

That alone I'd be like, think of the world they live in though.

SPEAKER_01

You tripping.

SPEAKER_02

It's old Chinese niggas turning into dragons, bro. Like, yeah. The purple kid's not normal. Chinese nigga turn into a dragon.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, so you gotta shorty how to do it. She tells you her grandfather turns into a dragon. You still want to deal with that?

SPEAKER_02

But I've already seen all the shit. The purple kid ain't that jarring at that point. Bro, it's niggas like this is a part of why. What's Shorty's name that Mark used to date? Um sister. Oh, yeah, that's another thing. Thank you for bringing that up. Everybody in the comic is white. Yeah, I heard that. Every this is white people Dragon Ball Z. That's what they called it. That's what he did. Yeah, everybody's white. When you bring these shows to um these. No, but I like the change. I like it too. Because the the panels, I'm like, yo, I couldn't tell that yo, Eve was just the girl we talking about, the original one. Let's just say her name is Crystal. Eve was just Crystal with a pink wig. Like they were the same character.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Just one had a pink wig. Like I like the color spectrum. Yeah. Like, nah, but the art is great, though. It's just that everybody's white. Tech jacket and Mark are the same person. When did this come out? Um early 2000. Yeah. You know what's crazy? Tech Jacket predates Mark.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That was his first character. Tech Jacket.

SPEAKER_02

Trash. And when you see, oh no, Tech Jacket in the comic is trash. First of all, he's a dude, and he just he looks a lot. I see why they changed it. He was just Mark with a suit. He was Iron Man. Like that's it. That's what he was. But um tech jacket, he gets busy in the comics. It makes sense that he kills a man. Yeah, yeah. I think in the comic, he might kill two. Yeah? Now he gets busy. And um, so his whole backstory, he has a backstory that's out. It's a separate comic. I read that too. And it's kind of like you know Blue Beetle?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

It's kind of like that. Like he he finds the armor, and it's like a little bit of um. Yeah, and it's a little bit like what you call it too. The um Star Kid. What you call it? Um Niggas with the rings or uh Green Lanterns, like kind of like that, like a chosen kind of thing. Yeah, he he's he's nice. I hate you with throwback just now. He's uh I don't know if you know that. What? Star Kid? No, I don't know what that is. Um I wasn't born in the 80s. Alright.

SPEAKER_01

I wasn't. I actually was born in the 80s. The point is. Alright, don't worry. Like, tell me I'm on. It's a Disney movie. Okay, what's it about? Look it up, Star Kid.

SPEAKER_02

Why are you ashamed to tell me what's it?

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

If y'all know who Star Kid or what Star Kid is, it's a throwback gray movie. I used to love it at least. I'm gonna watch it again now. It's on Disney? It's a Disney movie, it should be there. Okay. Look it up. It's like superhero? It's uh kid who gets who finds a suit. Star Kid. Okay. White white, yeah. So again Best friend black? I think it's a black kid in there somewhere. Okay. I'll double check. Oh, they always got the sidekick.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. The man, the nigga, he was in the wheelchair, he got a computer. Black. Black. Yeah, yeah. Blue ring. Black black. Yeah. But yeah, he was he was gonna make a point.

SPEAKER_01

Green friend, he's black.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Nah, the point. Oh I lost it.

SPEAKER_02

Damn. But I'm I'm gonna check it out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Debbie, watch how you talk tomorrow.

SPEAKER_02

Um, so what are you looking forward to in um the next season? Season, and let me tell you where you're gonna be wrong. Actually, I'm I don't know what's gonna happen. Because I don't see how okay, I know, okay, let me hear what you got.

SPEAKER_03

I'm not gonna spoil anything though.

SPEAKER_01

Um I looking forward to. Okay, let me give you some storylines. I wanna look up, I want to see more of Nolan. I want to see Nolan's redemption to his power. I don't like seeing him like this.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, what about the village of Mice on Earth? How do you start that? How do you see that play out?

SPEAKER_01

I think that I think they all start breeding. One of them is gonna start breeding. One heavy maybe a few of them are gonna start breeding, but I don't think Anisa is gonna wanna breed. She seems very like, I don't want these guys. I want him. When I say him, I want a guy who's like she seems like she likes the strongest guy. And um, I think it's obviously Mark. You think it's Mark? I think she's gonna press Mark. I think no, but you think Mark is gonna be the strongest person on earth? I think she's going to. After the cold conco, I killed Conquest. You saw how she looked at, they showed you that.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, they should they they're gonna be like, and she already looks like word.

SPEAKER_01

Um so I think she's gonna she's gonna eventually end up looking for Mark. Even in uh that last episode when she was walking past and they were talking about, oh, yeah, we're gonna live up among you. And the guys like were whistling at her dog, um, catcalling her.

SPEAKER_02

She looks better in the show.

SPEAKER_01

She looked back like better than the comics. Oh, you think she looks better in the comics? No, she looks better in the show. Oh, yeah, I've seen the comic version of her and then she was like very tall and stringy. It was weird. Oh yeah, they did a good job in the show. Um, I think that some of the people are going to some of the Vilcher Mitch are going to realize what changed Nolan. They're like, yo, nah. This whole love thing is. I think it's obvious. You don't think like think about it, uh the only per listen, matter of fact, is a callback. Now I'm I'm let's just go here psychologically. Remember when uh Conquest was fighting Mark for the first time, and he's telling him all this stuff. How lonely you are? I'm so lonely. They don't like me. I'm a victim of my own success. Yeah. They're afraid of me, all that stuff, right?

SPEAKER_04

Conquest just needed a good woman.

SPEAKER_01

That's what it changed everything. So I I personally believe because of how hardcore.

SPEAKER_02

You don't think Thula was his woman?

SPEAKER_01

Thula? The old lady with the joint?

SPEAKER_02

You don't think that was his name?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_02

And the scourge, they was they was on team.

SPEAKER_01

She was about to kill him. Nah, they was on team. My man said, yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I thought that was his girl. Magic said stop. He said. Nah, he was gonna kill her. He definitely was gonna pack her. So I don't know if a woman would have changed. Nah. Not a villager my woman. I think you earth woman would have changed him. Because they're earth women. When the South? Houston? Houston? Listen. I can see I can see my man conquerors in Houston going crazy.

SPEAKER_01

He could have went to Atlanta and one of them strippers from from um what are Magic City? Magic City would have changed him. I'm telling you. Just the fact that they're na kind. Nice. We actually prioritize love to a degree in this generation. But the point is, that changes someone.

SPEAKER_02

I agree.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I mean? Like if you if you're around toughness 24-7 and somebody hits you with kindness, first thing you'd be like, what is this? What is this tactic? And we realize that they're really just trying to like love you or take care of you.

SPEAKER_02

Why do you think Drag dance thing?

SPEAKER_01

Thrag? Well, Thrag's This is what makes him an interesting character, number one. His commitment to his people. And to be a leader, you have to have a vision and you have to be dedicated to the vision. Oftentimes, if not every time, your vision is bigger than um the things that kind of affect or influence us.

SPEAKER_02

You are so right, but a comic is gonna break your heart, bro.

SPEAKER_01

In terms of No no, I I I have a feeling because I've I've seen some blurbs. I'm like, I can see it can go one of two ways with him.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, yo.

SPEAKER_01

And option two makes more sense.

SPEAKER_02

It feels like a different character. Base versus the comic? Yeah, like I'm telling you, I'm like I can see that. The thrag in the show is so much He's more like just I don't know what they're gonna do. I really I think they put wrote themselves into a corner, honestly. Unless they have a whole different vision for how the show's gonna end, which Yo, I really Okay. Yeah, I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_01

I think Thrag in the show, the the thing that what makes him different from the comic is the voice actor. Honestly.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Because if you take the sound off of Thrag and just watch how he moves, he's very intimidating. You see moments where it's like this guy is ridiculously dangerous. Yeah. But when you throw the context of the voice and the tone of what he's saying and how he says it, you're like, I don't know. And you look at the comic, if you've seen certain things, you'd be like, I've seen this happening. I can't see him moving like this. But uh if you have a different tone, a different voice, you'd be like, I can see him doing that. Voice acting is is huge. That's what brings the character to life. Yeah. There's so many different takes any actor could have taken on Conquest. Yeah. But the actor they had, you know who he is. I forget his name, but he was not. That's Negan to me. Negan.

SPEAKER_02

He was um the dude from uh You know, Robert Kirkman also wrote The Walking Dead.

SPEAKER_01

That's why. He uses the same guy. He's a good writer. Yeah. No, I think he's a beast. I think he's I don't like how he's acting on the internet right now, though. Like people saying, like, oh, maybe this is why I'm like No. This is why he's being very kind of like It's his baby.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but like He made it. I think you go one of two ways. I I agree with you. There's the way he's doing it, and I've seen the guy from Attack on Titan. I think he did it the exact opposite way. He let he literally changed the ending of his show because of the fans.

SPEAKER_01

No, I would never do that, but I would I rather I'm on the I'm on the No there's a balance. There's a balance. Let them believe what they want, let them come with all their theories. That's how you keep your show alive.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, he's not.

SPEAKER_01

But I'm gonna address it. I if I kill this theory, then I kill a whole thing.

SPEAKER_02

He's he's a nerd. This is his baby.

SPEAKER_01

He's being a certain type of nerd.

SPEAKER_02

Of course, yeah. There's a spectrum. Yeah. He's definitely one of those, like, this is my thing, and I made it this way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. As an artist, when you create something, it's yours in the creation process. Yeah, once you give it out, it doesn't belong to you anymore. Either the spirit you created it with is gonna go with it, or it does not belong to you anymore.

SPEAKER_02

They deal with it how they want to do it. That's why some people keep their shit in house forever, like my man George R. R. Martin. We never get in those books. We might. We wouldn't never. We we destroyed that ending, it was his ending. Quiet as and we killed it, and he's like, oh hell no. I don't, I'm not really. That was Genius. Nah, actually, that has nothing to do with me. Yo, bro, he that's his ending, dog. That's his ending. That was him? Yes. He was just like, oh, y'all don't like this, y'all don't fuck with this. I'm never finishing these books.

SPEAKER_01

That's what happens when you rush a writer, though.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he needs time, but he's also old, dawg. But with AI, if he dies, AI's gonna finish a book. He's gonna be alive for a few years. He might be dead already. Yeah, we don't even know yet. Yeah, but uh shout out Invincible. I'm looking forward to how they're gonna end this. Um, yeah, man, it's it's a phenomenal show, and I hope they keep it up. They have a video game out, it's a fighting game.

unknown

I don't care about that.

SPEAKER_02

What's up?

SPEAKER_01

Well, to have them just fight.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's a fight.

SPEAKER_01

And it has its own story. Put on a story mode. You get to walk around open world.

SPEAKER_02

Now you asking for too much, though. No, I'm not. Yes, you are. Open world has changed everything. Yeah, but you can't make an open world invincible game. Yes, you can. I mean, you can, but it's like gonna cost too much money.

SPEAKER_01

New grand theft auto. It's gonna cost, you know how much money is it? Cyberpunk. Yeah, it costs a lot of money. And whoever got it, will got it.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, nigga.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, that's a lot of people. Whoever got it got it. Alright, shout out Invincible. Alright, I'm gonna um I'm gonna pivot to uh we're gonna keep it uh American comics though. Alright, so Daredevil, born again. Are you up on any of it? I am not. No, that's great, that's great, because you're gonna be the fans. You're gonna be the casting crew. I have to pitch this to you. You don't have to pitch it to me, but I don't listen. I'm gonna pitch it to you. So did you watch the Netflix one? Okay. My man, what's my man's name? That place Daredevil? Something Cox? We said we weren't gonna do this anymore. You find the real name. We said we were gonna his name is Cox. You don't I probably something Cox.

SPEAKER_01

You keep saying that when you can just find the wait for the name. No, I'm I'm dead. His name is Something Cox. Daredevil.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and you know why? He's Daredevil.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he's he is Daredevil. Ben Affleck.

SPEAKER_02

What's his name?

SPEAKER_01

Ben Affleck. No. No, I'm saying you said he's a Daredevil.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, come back. Charlie Cox. Charlie Cox. And he did the Marvel thing. You know how Marvel they always have the same, the PP, Peter Parker. Yep. He did it. CC. Yeah. He's Matt Murdoch. He is Daredevil. Um the net Parker. Who has that? No, I'm just saying. That's what Marvel does with their characters. Peter Parker. Oh, you're saying one with Matt Murdoch. No, no, they've never done it with the actors.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, just Toby McGuire, no.

SPEAKER_02

Huh. Wait, who?

SPEAKER_01

That's the only Spider-Man I don't know. But anyway, Peter Parker. Um Andrew Garfield.

SPEAKER_02

I have no idea. Shout out to AG, man. Oh, yeah, they agree. That's your Spider-Man. Hell no.

SPEAKER_01

That's all I'm saying.

SPEAKER_02

Spider-Man's a kid from Queens, man.

SPEAKER_01

He's really from Queens?

SPEAKER_02

No, he's British. See, this is even worse. What's his name again? Tom Holland Tunnel, New York. You heard? You heard? You heard. Nah, don't do that. That's why I messed up like that. But yeah, so the Netflix one was cool. It was borderline good. It was almost great.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry, just real quick. I just love that the fighting scenes he actually got exhausted and was getting.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you gotta see the dis I thought once it went to Disney it was over. It's fire. It's gruesome. It's it's like a panel out of my dude. Is you know what Disney's playing a dangerous game? They uh he's putting niggas in the hospital. Like when he he fights a bunch of okay, so they do this whole um, they basically turn Kingpin into Mini Trump. So he has his he has ice agents running around. He has yeah, everybody's doing it. Um, but they did it really well though. They did it really well. It felt yo, New York City is the greatest backdrop. It's the greatest city. It's the greatest backdrop. It's the greatest everything. If I felt like if I went outside, like after watching the show, I was gonna see Daredevil and them running around. Like that's how like it was they used um the diner on 21st Street, like right across the street from LIC high school. They used that diner, it went, it went down a bit, too. My son Bullseye, yo, they you gotta watch the show. This show watch it now. This show. Remember how good Luke Cage was? Yes. Now imagine if you gave Luke Cage a hundred million dollar budget.

SPEAKER_01

They didn't need that much for Luke Cage. No, but I mean I said what I said. They needed a better actor. I love that brother too. Yo, nah, brother, nah. That wasn't enough. He's not even a Brit. I know that's the bad. Yo, we gave you a golden ticket. That show was fine. Shout out my harsh art. Nah, he got spanked by him though. Uh absolutely when he entered the scene. Yeah, Cotton Mouth, no power. He wasn't even the main bat. Yeah, he wasn't. We remember, I was like, who's this other guy?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I had to go Google Cotton Mouth. I was like, who the fuck is Cotton Mouth? Oh, some low-grade uh who is this guy? He sat behind the front of the biggie poster and the hat.

SPEAKER_01

Yo, tough with the crown. Anyway, my bad. But you said New York City's the greatest backdrop.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was just it was like watching a comic. Like it was like It was like first phase Marvel. Like Robert Downey Jr. was Tony Stark. I'm watching Matt Murdock. I'm watching their double. That's what it is. And he was. Breaking niggas up. Like on Disney, he was getting cheeks. Because you know, Daredevil gets a lot of cheeks.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, they that's what I'm saying. On Disney Disney's playing a dangerous game because kids are on there too, bro. Nah, it's over.

SPEAKER_02

Because we you know who else we had?

SPEAKER_01

Kids is on there.

SPEAKER_02

But do you know who else we had? We had the Punisher. You know how he got down. He's not shooting to main you. They ODM. He's shooting to kill. I'm with it. I'm with it. I'm a grown man. Niggas is dying on Disney.

unknown

Crazy.

SPEAKER_02

I thought when Disney got Marvel, we was never gonna get this stuff. Actually, tonight, they dropping a one-hour Punisher special. Because he's gonna be in Spider-Man. I need to, I need to start watching this stuff. Yeah, bro. I once I saw Disney, I thought it was over. But Daredevil, come get your flowers, man. How's my pitch? What do you rate it?

SPEAKER_04

Saw the whole season? Yeah, of course. What do you rate it? It had his lows. 6.6. It had his lows. But I'ma go. I'ma go 8.6.

SPEAKER_01

Don't do that.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, deadass like that. I like that 8.6.

SPEAKER_01

That's a real number. Yeah, I like that. It makes sense. Alright, so it has the potential to be a 90 or 9 or 10. And there's certain things that stop it.

SPEAKER_02

I think it has the potential to be an 11. You know what's funny?

SPEAKER_01

Don't do that.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, let me tell you why. If the boys didn't do the Trump thing, I think, and it's unfair. It really is. But you play against who your competition. Whoever's in front of you is who you play against. If I wasn't already exhausted about this, ah, another Trump. It would have been in a 10.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, so we're either gonna stay with a one through ten scale, strictly. No, but 11 is like Or we're gonna do the one through 30 um scale. No, we do one through. We can do one through 30. And I shout out to Patrice O'Neill for the one through 30. No. Because there's levels. And I'm a Patrice guy, I never heard this. He he rates women one through 30. Not that you can rate a lot of things one through 30. So there's tears, obviously. There's if you're with one through ten, that's ugly. Or not that not good, bad. Yes. But ten through twenty is medium, mid. And then we're talking about gorgeous or top tier is twenty through thirty. So if I said to you, I said to you, yo, she the this uh show was actually like a six, that means it was mid of the worst. Yeah, why would I even watch it? But you can have a ten and it'd be like, it was it wasn't a good movie, but uh it was a good slot. Shoulder. That's a 10. Good slot. But if I said it was a good mid-movie, I would say, like, what's that movie you did? A 15. One battle after another? One battle after another is not to me it's not in the 20s here. It's it's more like a nine. If we're doing one through thirty. Now, if you're talking about like the greatest, there's levels to the greatest. There's like, you know, there's right now let's use two hot shows, obviously Invincible and the boys. Invincible to me is a 26, 27. Okay. The boys is like a 22, 23. Okay. It's not, it's not mid. Those shows are not mid. I wouldn't call them. And they're definitely not terrible.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know what I'm saying? So we can use that scale if you're gonna do it.

SPEAKER_02

It's just a tough scale, bro.

SPEAKER_01

It's not, it makes sense. It's a lot of math. It makes it easier because if it's one through ten, it's like, oh now I have to go 6.6, which really is 25 or 26. Daredevil. But let's do one through ten. I like one through ten. You sure? If you want to do one three.

SPEAKER_02

No, I want to try it.

SPEAKER_01

Let's do one through thirty. So go ahead.

SPEAKER_02

So Daredevil. It's not mid. This is 26. It's 26. That's a great number. Yeah. Uh for me, um it has 30 potential, though. I'm looking forward to the next season, especially how it ended. Um, I don't want to spoil it for you or the fans that is not up on it, but it gave me the most realistic ending that could have possibly been in the situation that they were in.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so just real quick, I want to ask you. Yes. Give me the five, or maybe less, but I like five. Five criteria that make a show or a piece of content good to you. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Show or movie. Okay, so I always go back to the source material. I'm one of those guys. Okay. If it's what if there is no none. Oh, if there's none, then I just throw that out the window. That doesn't come into my criteria. So I just assume no source material. So obviously off-rip the acting. Like, if there's if there's one scene that an actor takes me out of a scene, I can't put you in the 20s automatically. I I like that. Yeah. I'll use a movie like Sinners. I did not have one scene that I was just like taken out of the scene by an actor.

SPEAKER_01

I did. It wasn't an act. You're right. I'm an actor. By an actor. The voice actor was. It was mad actors dancing and stuff. I thought I count. But you're right. Yeah, but that wasn't in that. Yeah, yeah. You're right. Everyone held it down.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So like that, that's why those movies to me would be 30, 28, 29. Then my next criteria would be the world. How building? How well am I immersed into the world? Is there anything that breaks me out of the world? Yes. You know? Those are like the two biggest criteria I can think of. And then you have the little tertiary things like, you know, did this movie make me feel anything? Like, did I did I feel like I left this movie with, yo, like, I'll use an example, the the Ryan Gossin thing. Like, it's got to talk about Ryan Gossin. That movie changed my perspective on my I I can take Ryan Gossing as an actor seriously now. I didn't before. Because that movie showed me he can hold down a movie. I'll use Marty Supreme. I think um Timothy Chalamet is great. I didn't think he was a superstar like that until I saw Marty Supreme. I was like, oh, this guy can carry a film.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So things like that.

SPEAKER_01

Um that's one, two.

SPEAKER_02

That's like three criteria. Okay. Um, you know, little little all the smaller things. I'm really into um um the art, the like design of the clothing. If it looks cheesy or like yeah, costume design, or if it doesn't match, like there's this movie, um uh the Nosferatu movie. Okay. Oh my god, I gotta see that. That movie everything from the way the streets sounded, like when they they had the horse and carriage on it, to like he goes to like this tavern. Which movie? It's Nosferatu is the newest vampire movie they got out. Okay. Uh this guy is the lead. Um is he in? He's Lex Luthor. The new Lex Luthor. Okay, I know what you're talking about. He's from um He's a Brit. We're gonna talk about the Brits. We're gonna get to that. But yeah, he he plays um the protagonist, and there's a vampire in the movie, Nosferatu, the OG vampire. And Nosferatu.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I've seen that name and word soulmate.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's it's like it's a it's an old movie that it just remains.

SPEAKER_01

It's in many video games, maybe.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, it's just it just I think it just means vampire.

SPEAKER_01

Is it interesting that that's like oh it means like life suction? Okay, that makes sense. Okay, go ahead.

SPEAKER_02

So the streets, the he oh no, he gets a tavern, and the taverns in Game of Thrones, they're dope, but this felt I could smell the tavern. Like whoever whoever made the tavern, I was like, yo, I can smell that shit through my TV. Like this, this is nasty. Like, this is how niggas live. Like this was this was the Saturday night thing to do. Yeah, we all gonna come in this place that's lit by one candle, the ladies like hawking lugies into your your food to thicken it up, and you gonna eat it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like that get because I felt like I was sitting there, like I'm in the tavern, and they all speaking the different languages. It's so good, bro. It's it's it's probably a top three. Cause you know, vampires like there's a lot of vampire media. So you have a lot to like pull from. It's probably a top three rendition of a vampire for me. That was a yo, there's this one scene, yo. We gotta do a uh rewatch.

SPEAKER_01

Is it how dark does it get? Is it real demonic? I don't want that in my spirit.

SPEAKER_02

You're protected, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but you know, you know, can't keep playing with fire. Yeah, I I think it's is it real demonic like we talking about?

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, it's demonic. He's he possesses somebody. I've seen that before, too. Now, and then the the the possession scene, the girl that the acting in there, I'm telling you, you're gonna feel like he was there. Like you're gonna like wake up and be like, yeah. Blood. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, so I would say that. Yeah, like I like those are like the smallest. Does does music do a lot for me? Probably not as I think that's my next level of becoming a director. Yeah, I gotta, I gotta my bad. You started interviewing yourself, though.

SPEAKER_05

Music.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I gotta music is my next thing. I gotta get into that. Yeah, the scoring is the scoring, yeah, because it's big.

SPEAKER_01

It sets the mood. Like you don't notice it until it's bad. Exactly, exactly. Or there's no music. Yeah, there's no music at all. And it actually helps you in the story because there'll be scenes where the music is and slowly will fade out while two characters are talking. You realize the tension just grows because there's no music.

SPEAKER_02

The music controls the tension a lot.

SPEAKER_01

So for you, it's the acting, the world building, um, you said the costume design, and if we were throwing it, it'd be source material. Yeah. That'd be your four. Yeah.

unknown

Alright.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Alright, I'm gonna keep that in mind when you start to make uh your uh your rankings and ratings. What about you? Um for me, the stories. I'm a writer at heart. It's like a story that has to be compelling. Uh a horrible story to me cannot be fixed. And I'll give you an example of that. There was a show that came out a few years ago called Money and Violent, and the story was phenomenal. On YouTube. On YouTube, the acting wasn't that good. Obviously, there were amateurs, the shooting was wasn't good, it was amateur, but the story kept people coming back. It was fire. So that shows you that a story can bring you back. Can carry something, even though you know obviously you need execution. Secondly, the acting, which is I call it execution of you know the characters. Yeah, because you're a professional. You need that, I need to see that. And then there's the character development. Okay. Because a flat character or one like I'll give you an example of bad character writing, and it's no knock on this particular writer/slash director, but Tyler Perry films oftentimes have a villain with no real motivation. He's just beating a black woman or whatever woman it is and abusing her for there's literally no reason. No reason. You gotta give me a reason, or else I'm like, this guy's just evil. Flat just he's just evil. Doesn't make sense. If you give me a motivation, if you give me a backstory, if you give me context, if you give me they started here, a great great character development. We all talk about Vegeta going from I'm this guy who's here to, you know, save my people and you know take over, and I don't care. It's all about power, and then by the end of it, you know, meeting Bulma and having kids and getting defeated by Kakara over and over you see the character development. That's compelling for me. I need that. I need to see characters grow because we grow as humans. That's realistic. So those are my three criteria's there. Um I'm big on cinematography, how you shoot it. But that comes later. These are on the bottom rings. Because you shoot bad, but the story's good, the acting's good, and the characters are great. I'm with you. And then lastly, like you said, world building or the world that you create. And for me, that encompasses um costume design but on a lower level. But if you can develop a world like Game of Thrones masterfully created a world.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I think that guy's a wizard.

unknown

Who?

SPEAKER_02

Um, George R. R. Martin. Even the guys, um, the the D D brothers, I think they don't get enough credit for the earlier seasons of Game of Thrones. That was fire. I don't know if there's a better world that was built. A better world that was built.

SPEAKER_01

On a smaller scale, you know, they do it with urban shows very well, obviously, because it's a real world.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Out of another dude's brain. That wasn't even your idea. And you helped bring his idea to life. To life. The dire wolves. Just the dire wolves.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We would forget about the direwolves. The dragons is cool and all, but the dire wolves. It's a big wolf. It's under your command.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that, yeah. Which was also, you know, they got nerfed. Oh, yeah, you got yeah. This whole time you've been with you the whole show, and you're like, oh yeah, there goes my dog. How about you while you was out here catching bodies playing zombies? Budget. But yeah, that would be my five, my five-point criteria.

SPEAKER_02

Can I push you a little bit? Sure. Have you seen something with a bad story that you enjoyed? A bad story that I enjoyed.

SPEAKER_01

Wild Wild West, maybe? And the story wasn't. That was not a bad story. It wasn't even that bad. That was a good story. That's the worst thing I can think about. I enjoyed because. You hate that movie, but you love that movie. I love that movie. People oftentimes say it was terrible. I'm like, I love that movie. Nah, that's okay. It was the first one of the first times I can remember of seeing, like, you know, a clean black cowboy smooth. Will Smith at the time was he was 90s Jordan at that time. Everything he did was a chip. And um the way he executed his role, I thought he was hilarious, but he was also the dangerous guy. Salma Hayek in her prime.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my Salma Hayga.

SPEAKER_01

She's a 28 out of 30. Only reason I'm not giving her the other two is because I have my personal reasons, but the point is. First time I seen that lady was What was that movie? Not Dust Till Dawn. Desperado, but then Dust Till Dawn. Either way, the point is, the show, let me get back on track. The show was amazing. The movie was amazing. You are old niggas. How? Desperado? That was called old movies. This is where the core, this is the what do you call it, the backstory of the person you see. Me and my dad and my mom too, my brother and sister. We used to watch a lot of movies, but me and my dad, especially. That was our thing. We watch movies. He was he's older than me. Desperado. Used to watch um Tech Walker Texas Ranger. Watch your mad karate movies.

SPEAKER_02

Old nigga shit, for real.

SPEAKER_01

Listen, bro, he's about that. All the Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, Ramble. I grew up on that. You know what I mean? So when men were men. When men were men, for real.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but yeah, so bad story. Bad story. I just have a more modern example, and like I brought it up earlier, but it's not it's not real. It's um Marty Supreme. The story was bad. To me. I'm not a Jewish American. Maybe that's why it didn't hit me like that. Um, it was super New York. I love the the it had everything I liked.

SPEAKER_01

One battle number. I thought battle one battle another was a horrible story.

SPEAKER_02

You think that was a bad story? Yeah. Okay. Stupid. And you you you scored it out of 30 when you scored it.

SPEAKER_01

I'd scored at like an eight.

SPEAKER_02

Damn, that's pretty bad.

SPEAKER_01

Eight and nine? That's pretty bad. Yeah, it's like it shot well. It has great actors. Had a great team. I saw the world they built. You know, you got you had Texas and whatever.

SPEAKER_02

It's almost too real with that Christmas club. That was scary. That was scary.

SPEAKER_01

Um, that could be another criteria on the side, but that's a whole nother, that's like second, third, fourth dimension stuff. Like what the message they were coming. Oh, the message. I just forgot about them. You know what?

SPEAKER_02

That's my message is kind of part of the story, though. It is. But messages, you know, when you get a good message. I see what y'all saying. Yeah, I think I'm picking up what y'all putting down. That's the sinners had a really they had a lot of them in there.

SPEAKER_01

That's why listen. That's why it had a message you didn't like in there too. It definitely did.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they did. It wasn't with that. Yeah, I didn't like that either.

SPEAKER_01

They was playing in my face.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I didn't like that either. That's why I thought you was gonna watch it.

SPEAKER_01

At first I was like, I'm not gonna watch it, but uh, yeah, I decided to go see it and I enjoyed it overall.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, bad stories. I think bad stories. There's not many. The story is the it all starts with the scripts, yeah. Cause like But you're right, there's there are some. Yeah. I think this is a good segue, though. Um, the Odyssey just dropped a trailer talking about great stories. So we have Christopher Nolan, and um you have some critiques, and you're not the only one. A lot of people saw it and they didn't like um trailer. Yeah, they didn't. This is the second trailer. They didn't like uh The Cyclops. They didn't like it. I liked it because to me it looked like one of those um old paintings. It looked like um, have you there's a famous painting, um, I think it's um Cronus eating his kids?

SPEAKER_00

Kronos, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think that that cyclops kind of gave me that feel, that old school, like this this thing is dangerous.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um, it doesn't look cute. It's not the cyclops that we see in the Hercules animated films. No. Like this is this is what a cyclops probably looks like in real life. This is a Nephilim right here. Yeah. So I liked I liked it. Um, you know, my boy was in there. My boy, you know, Tom Holland, he was there. Um Pattinson was there. Yeah. He they look like they about this is their second spar because they they have a movie on Netflix that they went back and forth. Patterson didn't do well because he the accent killed him. It's too one-dimensional. Yeah. Don't do that. My bad. He he did a southern he did a southern accent. He tried. One point. It was awful though. And you know, Tom Holland had to carry him. But um That's crazy. He did. Watch the movie. What's it called again? It's I forgot the name of it. It's like uh it's like you would very forgettable. You would no, it's just Netflix. Forgettable cast. It's Netflix. You know what Netflix does. I know that you had two forgettable characters. Don't do it. You see? Nah, wow. This is I'm being I want to get those guys on some of my movies, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I thought he was gonna say something else.

SPEAKER_02

I think we're like, what do you think was gonna happen? You gotta act with them. These are gonna be collie. Bring the anger out in the scene. Okay, cool. Let's go there. But yeah, so we had him. They look like those two are gonna clash a lot in the movie. I like that. They already have that character.

SPEAKER_01

What are their characters again? Um Odysseus' son. I forget his name. Temechalus or something like that? Lemekus, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and then uh he plays the guy that wants to take uh Odysseus's spot because he's not there. I forgot the guy's name. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I can't remember the names. I studied all this. I have that book I just tried to get with the mom and everything.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's so they're gonna clash. Yeah, I think I think this is really good casting, too, for that for those class for that clashing. I know you have your problems with them. That's fine.

SPEAKER_01

Um actually tell us your problems, please. Um, Tom Holland, I I I just I just don't think he's the best Spider-Man. Other than that, he's a great actor. Oh, he was about to break my heart just now. Thank you. Yeah, I don't have a problem with acting. I just don't some of the people you put him up against, I just don't think he's where you think he is. But it's a bias, it's a preference. Uh, when it comes to Robert Patterson, right, his name? Robert Patterson. Uh he's a really good actor. Um I just think that he has that a one-dimensional? Yeah, like he's gonna give you that brooding. Brooding, but also like he would have been a good uh what do you call it? Um, Spider-Man who uh in Spider-Man 3. Remember how he was all like with the hair to the side and he's very almost like a goth. Yeah, he has a very because I remember we saw him from first of my song was in Harry Potter 4, Goblet of Fire, and I liked that version because he was a little bit more like lighthearted and more Yeah, he was the man. Yeah, he was the man, but he still didn't even like embody it the way you would think. Yeah. The character in the book was like you p you were mad at him because he was the guy, but also he was a good guy. Yeah, when he entered the room Harry, you'll you'll be fine. Yeah, so but even in the movie, he was kind of still like that character was no darkness at all. Take my body back to my parents. Yeah, you gotta say, like, please just take my phone. Yeah, put some life in there. But and then he saw him in um what's the whole thing with all the vampires? Oh Twilight. Twilight, yeah. You know, he played. I think that's the worst tradition of a vampire. I thought so too. He was very um dangerous.

SPEAKER_02

No, that's not his fault, though.

SPEAKER_01

That's how he played it. That's it. That's it. I don't know. As an actor, you are a creator and you make choices in every scene. He made choices.

SPEAKER_02

The quarterback and the coach thing, this is the Russell Wilson and um not handing the ball off because the call was to throw it. You're right. I don't know if he had enough wiggle, especially at that time. At least the first couple moves. That was 2008. He wasn't eight or not. He wasn't big.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if he was big enough to make those changes that you wanted. I'm gonna tell you like this. All right, so when you get into the audition room, we're assuming that you actually have to audition. Yes. They pick you because they see you as the character with the acting choices you brought to the audition. So oftentimes they're gonna say, we want you to do what you did in the audition. The only thing the director's doing when it comes to your acting is either trying to push you to get more out of you or remind you of what your motivations and what the scene is trying to convey and what our goal is overall. But I'm never gonna be like, yo, you need to change. Well, some act some directors might, but this is why the whole chemistry thing matters. The muse. But to be like, yo, you need to do this whole thing different, is like, I just spent months preparing for the role like this. We did table reads, we did rehearsals. How you gonna tell me to change him? No, that's a Robert Patterson choice, is what I'm getting at. Okay, that's fair. Yeah what I'm saying? Yeah, I got you, I got you. And he does it in every movie when he played Batman, it was good, but his take on Batman was a very I'm like, it was different. This guy has He was not a good Bruce Wayne. He needs He was a good Batman, though. He needs psychotropic medication. Yeah, he was he was wild. This is not well. I did I didn't like the Bruce Wayne. So I'm not gonna judge him based on that. He might be at a different level now. We'll see what he does.

SPEAKER_02

Did you see Mikey 17? I did not. Did you see Oh, you didn't see the Netflix movie? Okay. I got some.

SPEAKER_01

If you got other ones, I've seen a lot of his movies, actually.

SPEAKER_02

I got some required reading for you. I think he's good.

SPEAKER_01

I he he's actually good actor.

SPEAKER_02

He did voice acting uh in um one of those uh I think How's Moving Castle? Is it that one he did the voice acting? He did voice acting. Yeah, yeah. I'll have to check it out. Yeah, no, he's okay. But what other what other problems do you have? We have Oh, with the odd uh the Odyssey? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The trailer. The trailer. We're judging the trailer. Okay, based on the trailer, I'm just tired of seeing the same actors is really my biggest issue. Other than that, I'm uh a trailer is exactly that's a good trailer. It shows you some things. You know the story is because the Odyssey.

SPEAKER_02

Everybody knows the story.

SPEAKER_01

But um, not everybody. Okay. People don't read them.

SPEAKER_02

People don't read them all. Yeah, you're right.

SPEAKER_01

But um, yeah, you're um every you know the story is the the trailer gives you just enough for you to get excited, shows you certain things, doesn't give away too much, doesn't tell you what the full-blown plot is gonna be. Yeah. So I thought the trailer was good. I'm just tired of seeing certain actors over and over. We have a lot of great actors who are either not getting opportunities, stuck at a certain level, or just don't have are not shaking the right hands and going to the right part. Okay. I'm not gonna put you on the spot. I don't think, again, I'm not knocking into actors, I'm just saying that some of those roles can go to other people. Can you just give me one name? Who shouldn't be there? No, no, no. That's that's disrespectful. Who should be there? Who should be there? Which character? Do you mean the character? Um Athena. The guy who plays uh he yeah he actually got a good big brain. I can't be mad at him. But the guy who played um put it out. Well, we're gonna get to that, right? The guy who played uh Rob Stark. Um the guy who played Damon. Okay. He might these guys might even pop up in the film, just so you know. But I like to see these characters, these these actors who are working to get to a certain level be given that shot. We know who Matt Damon is, we know who Ann Hathaway is, we know who um who um Robert Patterson is, we know who these people are. But I'm not mad because this is technically a Greek movie with a bunch of American actors. Now that I said what I said before. I'm okay with that. Yeah, this is our get back. I'm with it. I and just another callback, because Troy touched on the Odyssey because you had Odysseus in it. That was a phenomenal cast. Because you knew those actors. Some of them were big names. You had a couple big names, like uh, you know, uh uh Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt. And maybe maybe Eric Banner, but Eric Banner was not.

SPEAKER_02

No, he wasn't Eric Banner.

SPEAKER_01

He wasn't the big the girl who played his wife, the um you had Orlando Bloom, who was big at the time. Yeah, he was big. Um, but the the other actors were we're talking about thespians who study the craft, and that's why that movie hits so hard, even when you watch it to this day. Yeah. And there was another guy who played um uh Troy's uh not Troy, um Achilles' cousin, I forget his name, Patricklas. But the actor was from four brothers. He played the youngest brother. Okay. He's also a really good actor. Yeah, I remember a lot of stuff. Yeah, yeah. He got killed, but um another another actor who was burgeoning, like he's not a big actor at all, but we know him a little bit. And for them to give him the opportunity, he crushed his role. He brought the the the whole totality of Troy to me, and this is one of my top five movies of all time. Really? Yes, all time. All time Troy. That's heavy. Peter Wolfgang um directed it. Fire. Oh yeah, you like this movie. Fire movie. Go back and watch. One to 30?

SPEAKER_04

That's what we're doing. 28. What's a 30 then? A 30? Well, I can't give Troy a 30. Why not?

SPEAKER_01

Um Brad Pitt is my birth butt brother too, but he he left a little bit to be desired as an actor, and he admitted that himself. I knew it from when I first watched it. And the fact that he said, like, I he said, um, I didn't even try hard on Troy, I was just fucking whatever.

SPEAKER_02

If you go back and watch it, you'll be like, I mean, he was just there to sell the tickets.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he he got in supreme shape and just played the character. He played it really like he played it really just one notice, just chilling. And because again, all the characters around us. Yeah, I think he was flat and everybody else was static. I thought Eric Banner crushed his role as Hector. Oh my goodness. I was like, yo, this guy 28 though. 28 because of you know, they they built a good world. They had the costumes were good for the time because it came out in 04. Um the acting was good outside of the one of the main stars. That's what brought it down those two points, maybe even a 27 because of that. It's Brad Pitt. Matter of fact, 27 is perfect. Um they had the deeper meaning, obviously, if you throw one in that. They have everything for the most part, except the acting is where they can. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So just to bookend this uh topic.

SPEAKER_04

You have one ticket. There's the Odyssey? There's Doom. Three.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

There's Spider-Man.

SPEAKER_02

I might I shouldn't even mention that one, right? If not for you. And there's um Doomsday.

SPEAKER_03

One ticket. Wins it all. Which one to watch? Yeah, you got one ticket. You can only watch one.

SPEAKER_04

Probably Doom. Pattinson's in there too. That's fine.

SPEAKER_03

Just like, you know.

SPEAKER_01

We'll see what he got. Yeah, he got a lot. I'm not against the guy. No, no, I'm not saying you're again. I actually, he's a good bro, one of the most emotional moments. Harry Potter 4. When his it's actually his father who's doing the acting, whoever that guy was. Probably a Brit. This guy came off on the stage. Move, move. My boy. I was like, I don't got a son. I was like, I don't know, I had to be like 15 the time. I'm telling you, man. Why are my eyes burning like this? Yes, sir. But yeah. So Doom gets Doom 3. Because I'm already invested. Um, I need to see where this goes. Yeah. The first two, the first one was great, and the second one to follow up and be better than the first ones. So I gotta see what they did.

SPEAKER_02

I think uh the cinematography in Doom 2. Just the cinematography alone is a 30 for me.

SPEAKER_01

A 30? Yeah, they were A1 with that. I wanted to see what you were gonna say. A1. The world building? When we went to the what's the other groups called? The people don't wear all black, the bald dude, his people? Oh, um, whatever they call. When we went to that world, I saw the contrast difference. I was like Yeah, they have they have a black son. Yeah, I'm like, this is I am in this world right now. I'm invested. It was tough. Yeah. Yeah. You have a strange.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Cinematography. The movie, the whole movie, I don't know if I can give it a 30 though. What part, what part wouldn't hit home for you? Um, I would have to re-watch it again, honestly. But just all just offer the cinematography alone. How was the acting? It was really good. Really good. But what do you give it out of 30? I have to re-watch, honestly. I'll be I'll be just putting numbers out there for the sake of putting numbers. Alright. It's it's one of the in sci-fi, I it's it's gonna rival Star Wars.

SPEAKER_01

In terms of the whole the total product, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. The only thing, the only problem with Doom, which was the problem with the original one and the problem with the novels, is the problem that I thought Game of Thrones was gonna have is that it didn't, is it's just too nerdy. It's too sci-fi for the masses. Like it's not gonna work, and it is working. That's that's why I think the third one, they're gonna have. I don't I really want to see what they're gonna do. Because it gets really, really weird starting with the third based on the book, yeah. Yeah, this is where it gets the weirdest right now. Like it's the start of it. Because you already have the the talking fetus. Like, we're that's happen, that's happening. So so I don't know, but you see, it it it people and I want to let me talk about the boys, but people are not as predictable as we make people seem.

SPEAKER_00

What do you mean?

SPEAKER_02

If you would have asked me, yo, can Dune be this big, this popular amongst the masses? Because it's it's a box office movie now. It's not just oh, the nerds are gonna go watch it. I would have told you no. If you would have asked me, is Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor gonna be box office for 10 years, I would have told you no. Because these are the like the B-list Marvel characters. Spider-Man's easy, Batman's easy, Superman's easy. Iron Man? No. I would have told you you were wrong. But I've been because I thought people were predictable. I don't think so. And the boys uh is touches on this too. Alright, you chose uh Doom. If asking myself the same question, because my co-host like leave me hanging.

SPEAKER_00

What would you rate? Um which one would you pick?

SPEAKER_02

I really it's tough. It's really hard. Say Doom 3, man. Come on. Nah, I'm gonna go Doom's Day, actually. Why? I just love American comics, dog. I love them. And this the X-Men are gonna show up. Alright. The X-Men are probably gonna be in Spider-Man as well. I can watch it on Disney Plus later.

SPEAKER_01

Nah. You're saying I have to pick one and I can never watch the other.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, I didn't say that.

SPEAKER_01

This is that day is what I'm gonna go to to see in theaters. I'm gonna go see Doom 3.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, I think I gotta watch Doomsday.

SPEAKER_01

But I don't think Doomsday at home. Nah, nah, I gotta watch that. I know they're gonna let me down somewhere.

SPEAKER_02

I I don't know. I think this might maybe I'm just uh a bleeding heart for Marvel. I'm actually a DC guy, honestly, comic-wise. But obviously, Marvel's just whooping them in the Oh no, I love DC. DC is cheese and crackers, bro. Nah, you're wild. Cheese and crackers. Y'all don't got you know how many characters y'all hadn't made up to try to like like Superman? Yeah, we won. No. He's the greatest. He's the greatest.

SPEAKER_01

Let it go. Thrag is the greatest. Oh, you wanted all. He said it. Robert Kirkman, right? He said we smoke Superman. Yeah, of course. You seen that punch? I ain't never seen Superman punch the one off the earth.

SPEAKER_02

Superman be moving planets, dog. Thrag can do the same thing. No, Dragon say he can do the same. Superman's moving the whole galaxy with him. Like, hey, let's go. Let's not do this. The comparison is I killed Lex Luther. Show me. Comparison is the forjoy. You don't kill people. Superman is above that. That's why he's not gonna win. He's above that. Thrag will his head off his neck. I can't do that. You need kryptonite to do that. That Thaddeus is Superman. Why do you do it? He was trying to rage bait me. I'm not falling. I'm not trying to rage bait him. I'm not I'm not falling for this. Teaching the truth. I'm not I'm not falling for this. But uh let's get into this, man. Drewski dropped the um a new skit. True.

SPEAKER_04

And he he poked fun, but there's some truth in the in the in the skit about black Brits and their acting and how they are putting these roles.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm pretty sure you have a lot to say about this.

SPEAKER_01

Uh with black Brits Brits? Yeah, talk to me. I'm not the biggest fan of it. I'm a big proponent for well Brits in general, but definitely black Brits. Um but my biggest problem with them is when the with that issue is that they're taking over or they're taking the roles that are tied to American black hist or historically black um events and things that are happening or experiences. That's the word I was looking for, experience. I think that's a fair critique. Like when uh and and don't get it twisted, Idris L was one of my favorite actors, but him playing Stringer Bell and that's uh uh what was it? Where did it take place? Baltimore. That's a real that's a real depiction of a real experience, and we gave such a great role to you know a Brit. And you know, when these guys talk about the accent practice and change, it's I don't really like the way they say it because they they make it sound like oh, you know, it's kind of easy. You know, American the American accent is actually easiest to you know to to mimic, uh allegedly, that's what they say. And then obviously it's easy because America has a multitude of dialects in it. The South, you have Florida versus Yeah, you have South South.

SPEAKER_02

Like you have even dialects in the South. Exactly. Even in New York, borrows, you have boroughs, you have New York, we all talk different.

SPEAKER_01

Then you got people from Baltimore and Boston people from Baltimore, Memphis. I'm like then there's black Boston and white Boston. Exactly. There's so many dialects, so even if you mess up, it's not really like oh, that's not true to New York, New York. Yeah, you know, whereas Britain, British, if you try to do a British accent, there are certain like differences between, you know, those like that. Sounds more like an Australian accent.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, then they the Brits, they have a little, they have like a one that's called a Cockney accent. I think that's more like their slang, like it's a little bit more wild when they speak, and then there's like the tighten up regular British one.

SPEAKER_01

But they say all their T's, yeah. You know, and they also talk from a different part of their mouth. Some people talk on the front, talking back here. Some people talk from their chest, and some people are throat talkers.

SPEAKER_02

You got the Scottish, like you already mentioned Australian.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. So some of these dialects are come from different parts of your body and different areas. So the way they they talk about American uh American dialects, I I don't really they don't make it sound like it's as complicated as it probably could be, and maybe it's just not. Yeah. But at the end of the day, like when you have probably millions of actors, let alone black actors in America. I've been on those audition lines where I'm looking at so many people, I'm like, all these people. If there's a thousand people here, at least six hundred of them are skilled actors. Okay. Maybe not six hundred. We'll go 300. We'll go 300 to be a safe bet. And none of these people can land a role to play an actual historical American.

SPEAKER_02

Why do you think they go British? I've heard theories. I'll give you one. Uh price.

SPEAKER_01

That that's definitely that's probably.

SPEAKER_02

British will take it less money.

SPEAKER_01

Um I think that also there's just a uh I think um uh British blacks specifically don't have a certain American mindset that um not just makes us difficult, but makes us less inclined to just let things kind of happen or I'm trying to put this the right way and I can't find the words. I'm just gonna say outright, like they're just we we're not as uh Caucasian-minded as they are. Okay, that makes sense because Britain is Britain is Britain. I mean America is where I'm not even gonna say black people, they just raise up in America, like you're not just gonna be able to do it. It's an American spirit. It's American American spirit tied to black people, which is a different energy. Um whereas for them they have a British energy. And I think that that's a part of it. They want to put that through the screen, that energy. Um like there's a difference between paid in full and snowfall. Paid in full is three New Yorkers, three black American actors portraying those characters. And then you have Snowfall, where the lead is a British, I don't know about the other characters, but they don't come from that same background. Those actors in paid in full, uh Mackay Pfeiffer, Cameron, Cameron, and Wood Harris are full-blown Americans from New York City. They have had real experiences, and you see it come out on the screen. So um I think that's um one of those things where they're like, we we're trying to kill that depiction on the big screen. But Snowfall was pretty good.

SPEAKER_02

It was a great show. It was pretty.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he did. I'm not taking away from talent by any means. I just feel like, you know, there's someone who could have done it just as good and or better.

SPEAKER_02

So you think it's the pay and the attitude? You would say is the Do you think Mikai Pfeiffer could have played Stringer Bell? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

Done good. The only difference though would be I think he was too big to play Stringer Bell at that time. Which kind of decides to my old point, why you gotta have new faces, but I understand what you think. Yeah, like it just Elba was an unknown guy at that time. Nobody even knew he was British. Like, that's how unknown he was. Do you think Marshall Ali could have played Stringerbow? Yeah. Do you think he's black American?

SPEAKER_01

Marshall, yeah, he's black American.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. And then another layer before, because I know you probably can ring off 500 uh actors, but what about the West Indian uh blacks?

SPEAKER_01

Where do you put them? Where are they getting rules of? I'm just asking, like, um what when I talk about America, I'm talking about the America.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, you mean okay, all right?

SPEAKER_01

Because it's it's uh very tied together.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, I believe that as well, but a lot of people don't.

SPEAKER_01

Also, Caribbean blacks are also tied to the British because that's to run them. They used to run them, yeah. Used to run us. But the point is that Caribbean blacks come to America and they continue to push their Caribbean lifestyle. You know, like you go to any part of New York and it's very Caribbean. Yeah, 100%. Britain, which I've never been to. I don't know. I don't think it's the same thing over there. You go over there and you start talking different.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

That's that's that's that that shows you enough. Yeah. You bring you can bring Jamaica, Antigua, Guyana, Derriz, wherever you from, Barbados, Bahamas over here and find that here. You know what I'm saying? That's why I kind of give them a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

When you go to England, you are an Englishman now. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And those cultures, because of the nature of America, a melting pot mixes into America. So you contributed to America. Yeah, of course. Whereas when it comes to British, we're like, nah, we got away from y'all because y'all are corny. I gotcha, I gotcha.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Um, shout out the the the black Brits. Um, no, no knock on them, but of course, of course. Uh, what about the counter-argument that they're just better? I hear that.

SPEAKER_01

I can see that. Some of the schools of illustrious acting schools are over there for sure. You know, and um those those uh a lot of those programs are very um gratuito uh what's the word there's a word for it? Intensive.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they do a lot of theater.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, whereas over here it's money-based. A lot of Shakespeare. Yes. I almost went to one. I was supposed to go for eight weeks. I really wish I had the money to go out of town. I could still do it, matter of fact. Maybe I should. Anyway, the point is. I'll go. Um huh?

SPEAKER_02

I'll I'll go with you. You go through? You come through? They gotta have a director's school out there too. Oh, they got it. I'm sagging my pants though. Yeah, you go back to America. Cheerio, nigga. Yeah, that's the first thing I'm doing.

SPEAKER_01

They said it you said it right back.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, but the Queen's English, I learned that. Nah, but um I I hear that argument too. You know, I do agree with you though. I think that it's impossible that y'all couldn't have filled these roles with just regular black Americans.

SPEAKER_01

So I'll give you another example of a good movie that has a lot of that in it. Outside of obviously, he's in there again. I can't even give you that movie. But again, you know, one of my favorite movies, The Harder They Fall. We have great actors. Yeah, we just don't, they just don't always get and maybe it's because of that British accent. I don't know, son. When they're in the audition and they start talking, like Yeah. You got it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and it's maybe they look at it as a skill thing. Like, if he can do this, he can trick me into like, oh, this is a Western cowboy. He doesn't, that's not even his thing. Yeah, and he can do anything.

SPEAKER_01

There's an alert to accents. Everyone knows that. You know, like women go crazy over accents. And there's also a uh study that shows that people who either speak two languages or have an accent, accent change, are usually deemed more um intelligent. Intellectually intelligent.

SPEAKER_02

Then there's this thing, it's actually a movie trope that they probably use in real life. The magical negro. The magical negro. They look at these niggas as magical negroes. Morgan uh Freeman. That was like his he was typecasted as that like for a lot of his career. Magical Negro.

SPEAKER_01

Show up and him and whatever old black woman you come with.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's a thousand of them. Yeah, the magical negro trope. Yeah, yeah. Maybe it's not in real life.

SPEAKER_01

I'll play a magical negro. Morpheus is like that too, technically.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, he's definitely a magical negro. Magical Negro. It's a lot of them. It's a trope. It's a real trope.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We should make a list. Top five next next pod.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, top five.

SPEAKER_02

Top five magical negroes.

SPEAKER_01

A lot of favorites.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's a lot. It's a lot. It's a lot of magical Negroes.

SPEAKER_01

They hitting that song. That's another message, too. They're hitting that song. I think so. We're gonna talk about that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, of course. We talk about that next episode. All right. Um Tell me about the smashing machine, man. You gotta convince me now.

SPEAKER_01

I wish I had the I should have said it right. I should have been right after I watched it. But um, no, I got you. Um so it's starring the uh Dwayne Rock Johnson, you know. Dwayne, I was on the plane with Dwayne. Dwayne Rock Johnson, yeah. And I I was at he did a good job, but he was still the. This was his serious film. It's a serious film about a real fighter. Matt, I can't remember his name. I just watched it, but um a real fighter who um this is at the cus, the beginning of what U of C became.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, so this is when niggas was like, there was no weight classes and shit. Some niggas had the ghee, some niggas didn't.

SPEAKER_01

Right. But he was fighting all over the world, like they were pushing it, they were trying to promote it. You get the kick, punch, whatever. It was elbowing people on the floor, the very beginning of this. And um, he had a girlfriend at the time, and he was fighting, he never lost since he was a kid, never lost. Never took it out. His best friend, who was a guy who used to compete against wrestling, he beat him. Or throughout um like college or whatever, whenever the stage was they were fighting. And I was his coach as well.

unknown

Cool.

SPEAKER_01

So now he's traveling around, making money, um, making a good amount of money. Nothing crazy. He goes to Japan, this tournament all the time, and he ends up going, and they start instating instating new rules. And they're like, oh, you know, you can only uh you can't knee someone in the head. Like if you have them down there like on all fours, like in front of you, you can't knee them in their head, which to me is a fair rule. So um he flies his girlfriend out to Japan where he's at, and you can already tell just based on their interactions, like someone ain't right here. She stepped out? Nah, nah, nah, in that way, but like on some like this is there's some toxicity in this relationship. So, like, apparently she lives in his house, you know, he's making all this, he's making this money to, you know, take care of all these things, and she's there. She's good, she's supportive. She showed up and um she was all like, you know, you ready, are you good? But you could tell when he walked, she walked into his training room, his um, his his boy, who's also his trainer, is looking at him like they were talking, and when she came and he got quiet. You know, it's like never a good sign. Never a good sign. So she he's stretching him and he's like, all right, pause. And he's like, he's stretching him to get ready for the fight. He's like, all right, you can leave, and he leaves. And um he's like laying on the floor, just kind of, you know, getting his mind. Getting in the zone weird. Yep. And um she steps out real quick to go talk to his friends. Is he good? Is he alright? You know, and you know, he was partying a lot the other night and stuff like hell he, you know, he shouldn't be doing that before fights and all that stuff. Yeah, he's just you know, he's using the one and then she goes back and starts, you know, consoling him. He's black? His friend's white.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, the rock's character is black, because you know how he's a white man.

SPEAKER_01

The real guy's a white man.

SPEAKER_02

But you know, wait, wait, wait, wait.

SPEAKER_01

Well, he's not he may be Hispanic. No, he's not black.

SPEAKER_02

Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. So the rock. He's he chose uh his first serious film.

SPEAKER_04

Yo Hey, he could he couldn't be a brother? Nah. So the girl's not even black. Nah, she's white. When are we gonna have the rock conversation? Mark Kerr, that's the character's name.

SPEAKER_01

Mark the what?

SPEAKER_02

The rock. When we gonna have the conversation about the rock. What he is? Yeah, when are we gonna have that conversation? Oh, his father's Simone, right? No, his father's black.

SPEAKER_00

100% black?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. He's black. No, no, but we no, we have to have a conversation about him as a person. What about what about his choices?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Listen, man, let me say something. I'm uh no offense to anybody who is um quote unquote biracial. It's uh it's a uh The Rock is not biracial. His mom is black. Nigga, look at him. Forget all of that. Let's just use I see a man who could be Hispanic. No way has no hair now. I can't tell what I think that's on purpose. You think he doesn't want to be black? I I was trying to like get it. When he was in his early stage, he was cool with it, but now maybe he's just and again. I don't that's your choice. Just don't come back when you when things up the floor.

SPEAKER_02

I can't I cannot believe I've seen the previews of this movie. That's a white man. Um is Kerr. Yeah, I'm Kerr. K-E-R.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Mark Kerr. Marker. All right, marker, exactly. Mark Kerr. Let me find a picture of him so you can see. But yeah, that's what he chose. But ultimately, with the film he fights, he takes a loss. He takes a loss and is never quite the same. Oh, actually, wow, he looks nah. The rock was a good casting friend. This is him and his prime. So that makes sense. That's a good casting, bro. But he's white he would have to be an occasion. Yeah, this is a white dude. Yeah, so I'm trying to go with it, but The Rock does fit that, you know.

SPEAKER_02

The Rock is not racially ambiguous to me. To me, he's a black guy. He's The Rock to me. And that's I think I'm not black, I'm OJ. That's just niggas is letting The Rock walk on that. They didn't let OJ walk on it. But we're gonna let The Rock walk on it. Why? You're not you're not wrong, brother.

SPEAKER_01

You're not wrong. But the reason why I'm sold on this movie, though. The mark isn't um, because The Rock is not The Rock is not, you know, he's bigger than what he was now, so it's like you have to make a choice. What you doing? You with us or are you with us? But overall, you know, the the biggest thing I took from that movie was he was trying after he lost, he spiraled into drugs. You know, and he got he eventually got helped to the point where he was I'm watching, I'm watching. There's a scene with his one last scene I want to say is there was a scene with um his girl where like it was just I don't know if you've ever read the book The Alchemist. I haven't. I don't know if you ever read certain um historical accounts in the scripture, but the wrong woman Samson Samson and Delilah, that's her name, David, Solomon, even Delilah, Solomon, um Abraham Adam, the wrong woman in your life, or the wrong people, it's not a little woman, the wrong people in your life that can derail and destroy everything protect yourself. When you saw that movie, you gotta there's this one particular scene where I'm like, you really did that to him? Why would you like some crash out? The man is on the come up, like he's in a tour, he's in a massive tournament that can revitalize his career after, you know, a drug fall. You was you had to go to rehab, all this stuff. And she just why she started to crash out. Anyone who's been in a relationship that's been a little toxic, you like, yo, nah, this is giving you this kind of makes you feel like, you know, trigger PTSD. Like, this is a smashing machine. Smashing machine. Check it out. I'm not gonna say anything else about it. I'm a I'm a white film. Well, great acting by the LaRock. I like the movie. I liked it. It was a good plane ride watch. Oh, you watched that shit on the plane.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's a good movie to watch on the plane.

SPEAKER_02

It's a serious movie. Speaking of uh adaptations and books, are you familiar with the book The Lord of the Fly?

SPEAKER_05

Yes, I am.

SPEAKER_02

How'd you feel about that book? It was great. It's one of my favorite books. Up there with Catcher in the Rye. And The Giver. We went to the same school or something?

SPEAKER_01

No, we went to the same. We grew up in the same city. Oh, yeah, that's great.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we read the same books. Harry Potter, too. Even though it was the 80s for you. Right. So I love I'm sorry. Exactly. See, yes, we get for talking crazy. I love um Lord of the Flies. Um, they're making an adaptation on Netflix. It's a show. Can't help themselves, can they? Um I saw 30 seconds of it. They had my man Piggy off rip. Piggy? He was there off rip. I was like, oh yeah, it's time. But um We're getting after it. They're Brits. I don't I haven't seen the rest of the cast yet, but Piggy's a Brit. They're supposed to be British. Um, I hope they keep it British. I hope they stay close to the source material. That's a big thing for me. It doesn't have to be a one-to-one adaptation. I I do want the director, because I want to be a director one day, to have some liberties. And maybe he has even better, like I'm saying, when I compare the comics of Invincible to the show, I think the show's doing a better job with how they're doing things. Right. Um how much grace are we giving Netflix? Well, Netflix hasn't had a good track record of this. So I'm not giving them any grace.

SPEAKER_01

So we just it was like a first time you messed up. All right. But if this is your track record, then you don't get any grace. I don't expect much from you. I expect you to mess this up. We'll see what you do.

SPEAKER_02

Netflix had Stranger Things, which was original IP. And they drove that shit off a cliff. That's what I'm saying. This is they have source material.

SPEAKER_01

They have a map. They have a map, but you don't have to deviate. If you want to make more money, you gotta understand something about these big companies, especially when it comes to you know media. It's they're drug dealers. We hook you with those first couple seasons and we start sprinkling a little bit of fentanyl in there. That's the propaganda, that's the BS, the stuff that's like, oh, why'd you even put that in there? But you're hooked. So you keep ingesting it. Now you're used to the fentanyl. Now you low-key like the fanol. And now they're cutting it. It's not even the same potency, it's not strong.

SPEAKER_02

They can add it liberal agenda pretty easily to a an island full of boys. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

So easily.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but that wasn't the point of the story.

SPEAKER_01

My thing is this though, like I'm not even saying like it's about the that part. My whole thing is when they once they get you hooked like with Stranger Things, everyone's like, now I kinda have to see it through.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

They had me hooked with Game of Thrones. I knew where it was going, I knew it got bad. I was like, this is going downhill, and I watched to the end just so I could see how it ended, knowing that it ended with an overdose. That's the thing. Yeah, and I was like, this is my fate. Yeah. That's why they do this. They don't really care about giving you a good product. Yeah, yeah. They care more about you. I'm gonna make you watch. I want to make sure the ratings are high. I keep coming back to see if I decide to fix this. But I you don't know. Are you gonna watch it? I'm I'll watch it for the sake of giving it a fair rating. Okay. Um I haven't heard much buzz about it.

SPEAKER_02

Which is weird to me.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Uh you were gonna say something? I forgot. Sorry. You gotta drink some water, bro. Electrolytes. Went to high school in the 80s. We didn't have water back then. It had lead. Yeah, man, I had lead.

SPEAKER_01

Well, yeah, um, I really want to check out I'm gonna check it out. Check it out. We'll see. But uh for me, again, I was at the I was there. I'm talking like you wasn't alive. I was there when Netflix first came around. And that joke was way different. But nah, it was uh I don't expect much from Netflix. This time I have Netflix and I draw, I look through it all the time for good content. Ain't shit on there, bro. Unless it's something that was brought to Netflix.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think I think Netflix stock is dropping in terms of the the arms race of all these uh Oh, yeah. I think um everyone else caught up. I think Amazon Prime is is slowly, slowly taking over.

SPEAKER_01

Amazon Prime is so gangster that they have the two biggest rivaling shows and they have both of them at the same time. Exactly. They like, yo, everyone's like, well, these two out of shows, where are they at? Amazon.

SPEAKER_02

Both of them. Um good segue though. Let's talk about the boys. The boys. We are two episodes away from it being over. Um, I had a question I wanted to propose to the casting crew, but specifically my main man GR. Has the boys jumped the shark?

SPEAKER_01

To me, yes. And can you explain what jumped the shark means?

SPEAKER_02

So in layman's terms, it's usually a specific moment where a show loses its essence and kind of becomes a parody of itself. And it's it's hard and easy to do that with a show that's already a parody of real life, but to me, the boys had a moment that it could have taken itself seriously. What moment was that? No, like I would say like season three on. Like it it it gave us enough shock value. It gave us enough to me when they jumped the shark was when Kimiko spoke. That was it for me. Oh, when that was the moment.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, but that was when I was like, That was it. Bro, that's why I was having a hard time getting through the episode.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I was like, yeah, when you mentioned it, I was like, yo, he's right. Like, I'm I used to like I need more of this, even with all the slapstick, white boy, ha ha he he. Uh it's to me, once she started talking, I was like, oh yeah, this is not this show is a parody of itself.

SPEAKER_01

Even if they if had made her talk like every once in a while, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And they didn't even do a clever, right? What they should have done, because they they gave her this big potty mouth because of the internet. She doesn't even do TikTok speech. She should be using words like unalive. And instead of saying porn, she should be saying corn. Like she should be talking like a person that learned how to speak from the internet from the internet. She's talking like she got on the internet in the early 2000s, where it's just vulgar. Like, no, the internet now is actually pretty sanitized. Yeah, it's really sanitized. Like, you can't say certain things, and like people are starting to do that in real life. Like, you have a conversation with people, they don't want to use the word suicide, it's unalive now. I'm just like, what is what's going on?

SPEAKER_00

They should have had her do that. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That was a writing misstep right there. If they had to make her talk. So I think the boys officially jumped the shark, and I'm gonna tell you the reason why I think they did it, though. I think it's more calculated than we think. Say it. They had, I don't know if we're on the same page. They had a spinoff that I like that canceled that shit. Ah now I like the actress. Oh my god. Now they have a prequel that they gotta get us to sell. They have to sell to us.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, yeah. I see what they're doing with that. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So they are tanking this show. They already got us. We already invested.

SPEAKER_01

It's time for the fentanyl.

SPEAKER_02

I gotta send y'all back into the past. I gotta introduce these characters. That's what they did. Mom's side. I gotta Soldier Boy. Oh, y'all like the Soldier Boy shit? We're gonna make a whole show on that dude. And the actor that played Soldier Boy, he was on a show for like 30 years playing one character. Naturally. Yeah, which you know. And they had his brother pumped. Exactly. So I think that they just send us up, like you said, this is defense and all. They're about to get us hooked on the boys' universe. Because I like the I think that was the better route to go. Make them younger, introduce new soups, and have the mantles change.

SPEAKER_01

You know what they messed up with that? Because I started to watch Gen V um probably two years ago when it first came out. And what they messed up is they went very hard with the propaganda and wokeness.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, they went. There was a character that that was their whole thing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like the main character being in love with uh uh something that's we don't know what I say with them.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, there you go. It was literally a them.

SPEAKER_01

Literally where they were getting slammed by a dude. Yeah, and then the next episode she's smashing or it got kind of crazy. I was like, this is kind of weird for me. I mean, yeah. Y'all went too hard with that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, now they're about to do the other way. Because you know how Soulja Boy gave it up.

SPEAKER_00

So how Soldier Boy gave it up?

SPEAKER_02

He's he calls it what it is. What? He's he's he's a Trump guy. Oh, yeah. He he's he's he's funny, yeah. No, and that whole it's gonna be set in like I guess the 40s. They're gonna be going crazy. They're gonna be dropping. They're gonna be jigabooing up there. They're gonna make a news, new You said a noose? Well, yeah, tattoo. It's gonna be a lot. So I think the culture in America is kind of shifting. We got dudes walking around. I think it's so they they're trying to catch, capitalize on that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's all about money, man.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think they're gonna go back in the past and we're about to see some new slurs.

SPEAKER_01

We already did that though. Like you that's what I'm saying. It's unnecessary. But you're right, they're trying to get more money out of you for gonna go into the prequel.

SPEAKER_02

They're gonna build a whole universe. But I really they should have kept going with the younger cats, man.

SPEAKER_01

Because they were supposed to tie it into this story, and um they could still finish with the younger ones in it, but they could be killing that show also to lead towards the to um put all the focus on the prequel, but still incorporate them in this last couple episodes.

SPEAKER_02

You want to hear my theory? I got a theory first. I don't want to have my theory. No, go ahead. You can go first.

SPEAKER_01

Age before beauty. Alright. Because um we now have um everyone by now, y'all have seen it, so we we are now having a mortal V1 souped up um Homelander. Yes. However, there's a couple of things that we uh we gotta pay attention to. We don't know if Homelander's really souped up. Yeah, he had a reaction. He had a reaction. He had a reaction, he had a reaction. But at the same time, we didn't I forgot that soldier boy could take your powers by hitting you with that nuclear joint from the chess. He also had the V1 in his hand.

SPEAKER_05

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

So maybe he could have affected it. He also shot the nigga that was holding the V1 with the blast. He didn't die. Yeah, so he took his power. So he has a little bit of control over. That's one. But also we know from V Gen V, and I don't know if this is your prediction too, but I had a prediction where the girl um Marie Monroe, she's a bloodbender.

SPEAKER_02

Steal him all shit. That's why you wanted to go first.

SPEAKER_01

Because I knew that was my theory, too, but oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, no, again.

SPEAKER_01

She's a bloodbender, so she can manipulate blood. She's supposed to be it's supposed to be only two people who are that powerful, apparently, on that level of being a super. That's her and Homelander. A little woke for me because I get why they chose that character. Black woman. Yeah, they gotta go. Girl magic. Can't give it to a black man. We gotta let him get stabbed in the neck. Magic will be, bro. By the way, I want to touch on that real quick. Oh, yeah, yeah. But um, yeah, I think she's gonna be able to pull it from his blood or either just pull his blood out of him and kill him. She has the power to do that. But um, side note, I hate how they did Black Noir. I'm like, how did you die to the deep? Now, granted, we don't really know his powers are, and some people say it's the same thing.

SPEAKER_02

We know his fucking power.

SPEAKER_01

He can fly. It's not the same black noir is referring to.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's not, but he's he literally said he can fly. So he should automatically be stronger than the deep off rip. There's not that many superheroes that can fly in this universe. Yeah, that was a dumb fight.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, what do we why did we even flush Black Noir out? For what? Just to kill him?

SPEAKER_02

Just to kill him.

SPEAKER_01

If he if he doesn't come back to life in some kind of way, I'm I think that was this is where we go with jumping the shark and just being borderline, y'all are sprinkling fentanyl and slop and whatever y'all are fighting. Because why did they have that fight?

SPEAKER_02

Remember, he was supposed to be the resurrection. They they mentioned that uh Homelander had to do a miracle, and then they were like, oh, let's let him resurrect Black Noor. And then he could Black Noir could fly. They don't know. That's why he even brought that up, I'm pretty sure.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So maybe that's what they're gonna do. I don't know how. He's dead. Unless they're just gonna recast him in the world. Yeah. And be like, oh, look, you know. The only deviation I have to your theory, I don't think she kills him. I think she just takes out I think she just takes his powers. And because that's the worst fate for a guy like Homeland. He's just gonna be a regular dude. And then it's gonna do like a jump fast forward, and he's gonna be at that old folks' home.

SPEAKER_01

You know what would be dope is if he loses his powers, but he still has uh the immortality. Oh, that'll be even worse. Yeah, as a regular guy, people knowing his face. That's slick. That'd be that's the He can't kill himself. If y'all catch this before, if y'all still writing, yeah, that is the ultimate fate for a character like him. And then someone breaks his legs or something, so he has to walk legic or something. Yeah, you a guy like him needs that experience to live forever like that. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

He can't he can't kill himself, he can't die.

SPEAKER_01

Nah, he was old. The way he killed um yeah, the way he killed uh firecracker. And that's a whole I could go on for 45 minutes about her whole story arc. Amazing. Oh, as soon as she got rid of Jesus. Fire story arc. As soon as she got rid of him. Uh, that's a 30 for the message that that that I don't know. For those of us who know, they conveyed a message in that moment. You fronted on something that you had with you. Let's leave it out of the. I'm gonna leave it, I'm gonna leave the belief factor out. You were this is something that's been a party since you were a small child. A man of the cloth used to protect and take care of you. You smeared his name. You sold him out for 30 pieces of silver like Judas. Shekel. For this guy who used to have you taking drugs so you can, you know, lactate for him.

SPEAKER_02

And then your heart got messed up and he makes fun of you for your heart being bad. Exactly. And then he kills you with the right wing. Was it the right or the left wing? I think it was the left? The left wing. Yeah, the left, yeah, left wing.

SPEAKER_01

Yo, the message was f that was crazy. That let that be a message to everybody. If you've been if you've been walking in something, specifically something positive, and you have to compromise, it's supposed to be Nevermind. No. Never comes. I choose death. Give me the blood diamond. Exactly. Big thrag energy on that. Nah, you gotta kill me, homeland. Sorry. I'm not calling you God. And that's another part where they jumped the shark too, because now they have to do so much. Is that did that happen in the comic? No. Exactly. They have to push the envelope so hard, which also ties to how Donald Trump had that depiction of himself.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, nah. They and they said that Donald Trump was stepping on their rollout because they thought they got beat with the Yeah, they thought it would be more, they thought it would be funnier without it actually happening in real life. It just made it too real. Like, like nah. They're not in Koops. They're on some Simpson stuff. Remember Simpsons and Time Travelers? Yeah, it's all coming to pass. Um, I'm gonna watch it. I'm gonna finish the show. There's only two more episodes.

SPEAKER_01

Isn't it a um IMAX theater release of I think it's like a one-hour episode? That's what I heard.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Thinking of releasing theaters.

SPEAKER_02

I'm I'm gonna finish it. But um and I'm gonna watch the prequel. I'm they got you don't want to see um Stormfront again?

SPEAKER_01

I think, like you said, they jumped a shark. Uh it's been hard for me to get through episodes. Every episode was like, was it you who told me that? Like they're all the same. It's butcher being butcher. Yeah, it's just I'm so dark. I'll kill anyone, uh and now MM is kind of fighting his butcher's becoming butcher. It's just butcher now. Um, Frenchie and Kimiko have their love triangle down there.

SPEAKER_02

That's just about to be over. Yeah, she's good, she's out of there.

SPEAKER_01

She wants to be on some peace with her. She's it's really it's hilarious because it's the ultimate, like, again, after she looks at you and goes, I'm trying to do something else. She already knew what he was, though. This is again, it's kind of bad writing. I would rather him be able to talk to her and really want her, and she's just like, Nah, I only see you as this.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because it was kind of like that before. This whole the the relationship thing, he always wanted her. She was kind of like, nah, I don't look at you that way. And then one season started, they were just together. I was just like, I didn't see it. It didn't even feel right.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't like them as a couple anyway. Nah, it's it was weird. So um and then the whole Huey and Starlight thing, you know. I don't know why they have drama for you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't get it. That seems like forced. Yeah, there's always something with them. Yeah, that's it's a weird subplot of oh, I'm trying to protect him, but I something happened to you. Obviously, you've been doing it. Yeah, for too long. He's almost died a lot. Yeah, you've almost died a lot. Yeah, and she can't beat nobody.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she got beat up by um the preacher, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Who can she beat?

SPEAKER_01

I thought that uh someone made a good point too. I was watching online said, isn't light supposed to be faster than sound? Yeah, it definitely is. This guy said, ah yeah. Man, she's uh she's a walking L. Yeah, man.

SPEAKER_02

But uh, shout out the boys.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's gonna let's I want to see how this ends, but I don't see myself watching it.

SPEAKER_02

Sure, yes, sir. Um, before we get up out of here, though, I have to talk about a show that you refuse. You keep running. Nah, man, I'm out running on a hard watch. Um, it's euphoria. I'm gonna try to pitch it to you again.

SPEAKER_01

Now you gotta pitch it. I'm I'm about I'm gonna watch it. I said I would. Actually, we supposed to put it to a vote. Y'all supposed to vote.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they're not voting on nothing. They haven't voted on our um I gotta go share this.

SPEAKER_01

Stop playing.

SPEAKER_02

Talk about it it's getting a lot of views. They're just not nobody's voting. I'm fucking scared. They're scared to vote. Say something. Yeah, y'all gotta vote. Let us know. We can we we want to recast a lot. I promise you, I won't turn the thrag on you. And we just I thought it was Traga. What happened? He's Dominican or something. What is he? Like he's definitely he might be Dominican. They said he's Freddy Mercury. That shit is mad funny. Um, but yeah, y'all gotta vote. Y'all gotta vote on these things. We want to know, we we want to tally. And at the end, whoever wins gets the ice cream sundae or something. So I think I'm gonna win, obviously. But um, yeah, but let him win. Euphoria. Um It's a hard watch. I'm gonna watch it, though. I want you to catch up to this new season because I want to talk about it, bro. This new season is some really good stuff going on. I've seen the cowboy joint, it was fire. Yeah, it's a lot, it's a lot going on. We got a lot of black, it's a lot, it's black.

SPEAKER_01

I want to be a good story.

SPEAKER_02

It's a great story.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_01

You just gotta get through the high school. I have a question. I want you to break this down. I think I asked you before. Why do people think Zenday is so uh overly beautiful? Actress, amazing. I do think she is a beautiful woman, but a lot I think sometimes what happens when you overhype it. Now I have to go like I don't see what you're talking about.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna tell you what it is. Let's start with the body. Her body type, boy body, white dudes is into that. What? They still into that? And she's right, they are and she's black. Yeah, so she has the body. Start with that. Then she's a light-skinned black woman. Where in history have they ever lost? That's it. And she can act her ass off. I don't think there's a woman in her league. Alright, see, this is the hyperbole brother. Give me one brother. Just give me one. Ant Hathaway. No, Ant Hathaway's 50. I'm talking about. In her league. Yeah, like her age group. Yeah, but talking about like in her age group. How old is she? She's like 30. She's not 30. 29.

SPEAKER_01

Yo, I think that you could find it. I think that in let's let's use Doom, for example. You could have interchanged her.

SPEAKER_02

Don't do that. You chose the wrong movie to do that with too. What? She was a monster in Doom. Alright, let's go Spider-Man series. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she was phoning it in a series. You could have interchanged. Huh? She was phoning it in a Spider-Man. Yeah, she took it like she did a Brad Pitt. She was just playing. I was like. And also, I was watching one of them. I just was like really, because you know, I was getting in on going in on the show. She's 29. I got it on the dot. I told you she's almost there. You don't see her change up. She'll start acting crazy now. 30's that number. Yo. Nah, but um, I just I'm not knocking her because she's an attractive woman. Like, I'm not saying that if I met her, I wouldn't try to talk to her or anything of that nature, but I'm saying that we're pushing this narrative that she's this stunning. I'm like, yo, y'all gotta chill. Let's be realistic. Let's be real. Let's be honest.

SPEAKER_02

They're not gonna like this.

SPEAKER_01

You don't have to like it, but you gotta hear it. And it's okay if you disagree. I disagree with certain things. It's all right. But the body, that's that's the white boy, but people still like that. Yeah. It's not my bag. As a matter of fact, I might even comment on her body. She's a beautiful black woman.

SPEAKER_02

I'll rip. But it's not my bag, though. See you O Dan. That's a compliment.

SPEAKER_01

I hope Tom Holland shows up and does what his little karate is.

SPEAKER_02

That's my man. I'm gonna even fight him, bro.

SPEAKER_01

You're gonna let him get a few. I'll apologize. I'll just apologize.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, he's not. I just apologize. Apology.

SPEAKER_01

So when he punched you one time, you're gonna die. I'll apologize.

SPEAKER_02

He got one, he got one. I disrespect this woman. He got one. He gets one. I disrespected this woman. You're human.

SPEAKER_01

This virtual minor. I said what I said now with you. Yeah, you see. We gotta fight. Nah. We gotta fight, man.

SPEAKER_02

I'm trying to I'm gonna try to get in the act of one of my movies, bro.

SPEAKER_01

I got somebody better for you, son. Who is Marty Supremes?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, what?

SPEAKER_01

He got you.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just saying, man.

SPEAKER_02

Feel that way. That's fine. Big Jew, shout out to Jews. Big Jew? Shout out to Jews. What? I said, shout out the Jews, man. Alright, no, no. You got it. I don't know what I said wrong. I said Zane is fine. Zane is. Shout out the Jews. She's a phenomenal actress as well. You gotta see her in euphoria, bro. Get through, just get through high school. It's a tough watch, especially for a man of your cap character. I understand that, but I'm not a drug person like that either. Oh, if if that's what's bothering you, that's not really it.

SPEAKER_01

It is bad, brother. I'm talking about like I'm I'm not a fan of like, you know, the depression drug stuff. I think sometimes, and this is a hot take, not related to film. I think that a lot of times this generation of humans too are just very weak. Like every I'm so depressed. Like I don't like I don't believe in that stuff too much. I believe that mental health was real. I believe that people need help, but I think that the help is not drug related. Probably 9.5 times out of ten, it's not drug related. It's uh spiritual, it's quality of life, it's purpose, it's how you were treated by uh the people in your environment in your formative years. So when I watch stuff like this, my mind instantly goes to, oh, why are you taking drugs?

SPEAKER_02

Did you get to the part why I know you you couldn't have? Nah, I'm still in episode one. When when you see it, let me know. Because it's not it's not what you think.

SPEAKER_01

It's not molestation or rape.

SPEAKER_02

No.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's actually one of the cooler, not cool, but it's one of the new, the newest uh a twist that I never thought. Never seen that.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

It's actually really dope. I'm gonna check it out, man.

SPEAKER_03

White dad. That's all I'm just saying. That's the name of the episode.

SPEAKER_04

It's called White Dad?

SPEAKER_03

Of this episode, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

This episode. White dad? We're gonna talk about that one one day too.

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_01

The white dad versus black dad comes to like other than quote unquote biracial.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, you're talking like a Hebrew Israelite. Um, let me just Oh no, before we get up out of here, I'm so sorry. We didn't hit no anime corner. We have to Oh. We have to hit anime corner. I'm so sorry, my the anime fans out there. I'm part of a new anime group on um on Twitter, by the way.

SPEAKER_01

You didn't ask me that joined that one?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, I sent it to you. Oh it was in the space, it's going crazy. Send it back, send it again. I'll send it to you. Uh they haven't had a space in a while, though, but that's fine. I'm gonna start saying crazy stuff in there. They black. That's what's up. They're used to crazy stuff.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just gonna start saying crazy stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Like what?

SPEAKER_00

As soon as someone starts all thrag debate and be like, oh, y'all gotta chill out thrags better than everybody.

SPEAKER_02

No, that that'd be fun. They get down in there. Yeah, I'm gonna log out. I'm not gonna do it. So, black clover. I told you I was gonna start it. You like black clover? I started too.

SPEAKER_01

Hold on, hold on. All right, we let's talk about this real quick because everyone people swear by that show.

SPEAKER_02

I'm telling you, give it some time. Maybe I'm an anime snob. That shit's just a whacker version of Naruto thing.

SPEAKER_00

Monica. That's what I thought.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, I was like, what are y'all what is happening here? I'm gonna become the wizard kid. I was like, yo. I said this gray-haired Naruto. This is a whacker, and I know they're about to kill us for this, but uh I'm just I'm how many episodes in are you? I'm like 21 episodes in. I I'm that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_01

Like, I'm not 21. It's hard, bro. I'm gonna get in there though. I'm gonna I'm gonna watch it. I'm gonna give it one season. And I think it's 50 episodes in a season. They I didn't even get I wasn't even mad about the contrast between him and his boys. Uh no, we've seen it a million times. You've seen that million times. I was like, okay, I see where y'all go with this again. Like I said, it's the natural talent versus the guy who seemingly has no talent. Got you. And then obviously something nefarious appears. A black Griamor. What I'm like, yo, y'all, this is Naruto. Y'all gotta chill. Take a different angle. Let this rival not show. Well, let's start the show following that rival, the guy who's cool and naturally good, and he runs into a loser. Whatever you want to do, but just can we get a different take on it? Shonen, bro. That's what I'm saying. All shonen anime. Over and over. We talked about that. They started with Goku. That's their base. At least they didn't start them together. You know what I'm saying? Like, I liked how Dragon Ball started with. Yeah, because Dragon Ball had a prequel. Well, Dragon Ball Z had a prequel. What actually happened though. Yeah, it's before Dragon Ball. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So with this, I'm just like, y'all not they didn't even like flesh out the story. You just got the two of them born together together.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, son. I'm 21 episodes in. And is the combat does it I'm not liking the combat either. I'm not you know what they do have though?

SPEAKER_01

What?

SPEAKER_02

They have a lot of interesting characters. And there's a budding story there. I'm just gonna give it time to develop. But this shit is just a whacker version of Naruto to me.

SPEAKER_04

Honestly.

SPEAKER_02

Naruto's world building was top tier. Yep. Naruto's they had a system. Naruto's thing was kids, kid kids kill kids. Like y'all, y'all are child soldiers. That's what this is about. This show is kind of there's a lot of like, oh, he's dead. Oh, he's not even dead.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't like that. That's that was my problem with Dragon Ball Z for a while. It's like people dying and coming back.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, but they're not even dying, though.

SPEAKER_01

These guys are just always almost done.

SPEAKER_02

These attacks look fatal, and then it's like, oh no, I I don't know how a sword slicing some person is not fatal, but sure.

SPEAKER_01

BC, just a little side note, this is exactly why um Invincible had the success it has, because when you're out the paint outside of the Immortal, which is his name, you're out of the paint. That's it. That Justice League, they're dead.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna give a little pushback on that. Nah, but I'm saying non-Vilcher might yes. The body count versus. Oh no, absolutely. Nah, but I feel like I don't think Mark or his pops or Oliver or like any of those characters are gonna die. Like once I seen Mark survive the conquest, the second conquest fight. Yeah, that was wild. Like, come on now. When I seen Oliver get backslabbed by Thrack, I knew he wasn't dead. I felt like if I didn't see Mark survive the conquest thing, I would have thought Oliver died. Same thing with Nolan. I knew he wasn't dead.

SPEAKER_01

Like they they kind of those are three main characters. No, no, I know. I'm just saying, like, and like if you're watching that show over again, and then we're gonna jump right back into anime because we've already talked about this, but you watch the show over, that first episode where you see the justice uh oh no, yeah. Anybody that's not a villager line, they're pretty much gone. Well, not even that. It's just like you're like, oh, these are the heroes. Yeah, and they're you see the dynamic, they're good. And then that moment where Omni Man crushes them, you're like, where's the show going from this? Because there is there is um what's the word for it? There's ramifications for things. Yeah, yeah. There's no coming back from the state. No, no, no, no, those characters are gone. There's yeah, that you have things to wait. Whereas what you're talking about in Black Clover, like when I constantly see characters almost die and not die, it ruins it. It cheapens things, and when I watch fights, I'm like, well, I know this guy's important. Like, this is Kiba. Yeah he's in team eight or nine, whichever one it is. He's not gonna die. You know what I mean? Like, you're gonna kill him.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, Hanata's sick again.

SPEAKER_02

Like, she's not gonna die. Yeah, no, of course, of course.

SPEAKER_01

That's the problem. And um, unfortunately, for anime um anime, because they do a lot of that, that's what makes the show's nice.

SPEAKER_02

I think it's the shonen thing. And uh it's the right shonen specifically. It's the problem with Titan was killing. Yeah, yeah, that's the that's the thing. When you watch a shonen anime, you have to understand that this is geared towards teenage boys. So it's 13, 14, 15. Can't traumatize me. Yeah, you cannot you can't kill off the characters. That's why to me, Naruto is pretty dope. It was child soldiers. But again, it had it had very similar issues. Like, this is supposed to be fatal. This nigga's about to get hit with a knife. This is a coonite is a sword, this should be fatal, and it's not. And I think Black Clover is even worse at it because it don't even look like this can that sword don't look like it cut anything besides magic. And I'm just like, who's gonna die? His sword? Yeah, I've seen him cut a nigga with the sword. He does the whole anime blood come out of his mouth thing. I'm like, oh yeah, he finally killed somebody. Yeah, and the guy's like, all right, that hurt. I was just like, it's a sword though. If it was just a magical beam, I can understand that. This is a sword, you should be dead, you should be have a gash, you should be bleeding out, and again, that just goes back to um it's shonen. I'm gonna take it for what it is. I'm not gonna be unfair to the show, but you gotta give me a reason to watch this and just not watch Naruto again. Yeah, like that's that's what I'm waiting for. I'm gonna give it one season. And the thing is, people hype this. Like, my hero, that shit is fire. I like it because it's shonen, but it's about superheroes. This is really close to like Marvel DC stuff. Yeah, and it's real stakes appear. Oh, yeah. Yeah, people die, kids die. People get their arms, bro. Yeah, like this. Yeah, I'm telling you. They violated that boy. Yeah, so I just I got I gotta see what the Black Clover hype is. Because they highly I didn't just oh random shit. Nah, I've heard this is recommended.

SPEAKER_01

People are like, God, you have to watch it. Like, grab me by the collar, like yo, chill, son. What are you so Fire Force? Fire Force? Finally finished it. Yeah, you told me about that.

SPEAKER_02

Yo, no, you I watched um a couple episodes. No, no, no, you gotta you gotta get this is your bag, and it's gonna upset you because of how deep they get into the Christianity lore. Really? They make I can't even I can't I don't even know what to tell you.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna watch it tonight. I finished it. I'm gonna watch episode tonight before I go to bed. Have you ever heard of Soul Eater?

SPEAKER_04

I've heard the term before. No, it's a show. The game? So it's an anime. Yes. I don't know if this is a spoiler. I'm not gonna say it.

SPEAKER_02

This this show watch Soul Eater? No, no, no, watch watch Fire Force. Fire Force. Soul Eater is one of my favorite animes of all time. But watch Fire Force first.

SPEAKER_01

Have you ever seen a movie? It's an animated movie. It's not showing though. What's it called? Like Princess Mononoke or something.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, that's um this guy. Uh that's Studio Ghibli. I love that show.

SPEAKER_01

That movie.

SPEAKER_02

No, that's How's Moving Castle, that's all of those.

SPEAKER_01

That's a beautiful movie. I highly recommend that to the casting crew. It's it's so good. There's consequences. There is a well well-written story. There's a phenomenally written protagonist who has a fatal flaw, and it's just a really good movie. Yeah, that's my recommendation for this week.

SPEAKER_02

Um Princess Minoko? Princess Minoko.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't think I've seen that one. You have was it the Wolves? Wolf Girl. I think I've seen that. If you haven't seen it, it's the old school and it's my favorite form of Japanese animation. If you see it, you can be like.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, Studio Ghibli, or Ghibli, whatever. It's um How's Moving Castle, um, The Boy and the Heron, The Boy in the Blue Heron. It's a bunch of them.

SPEAKER_00

It's it's so tough.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's it's like it looked like somebody took their time making it. The food looks amazing. The the way the the like weather, how weather looks, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I fell in love with um animation via that movie for sure. Gotcha, gotcha. That's where it was.

SPEAKER_00

Anyways, uh, segue.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, fire fire force. I need you to watch that. I we have to do a deep dive on that. It's a lot, though. It's a lot of content. How many uh it's three seasons, but they're dense. I think they're like 25 episodes a season. But I it's your bag, but I want to see how you feel about it. Because I know you don't you don't really like when you rather them stay in the demon stuff. This is straight up Catholicism, Christianity. They can go there if they want to. It's very interesting how they do it though. Yeah? Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And they tie it up at the end. You're gonna notice it. It's on the nose, but then when they tell you how they did it, then you're gonna be like, oh, okay. I see. But it's shown. Okay. It's shown in.

SPEAKER_01

It's shown, though. I'm alright with that. It's shown. Yeah, you just gotta start it. I just didn't finish it. I mean, it was again that's another show that's recommended, but um Black Clover right now is.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's it's I'm giving that shit a C minus right now. Out of 30? What you would forgot? Out of 30 right now?

SPEAKER_05

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Say it.

SPEAKER_04

Say it. It's a seven. A seven? Well, all right. I'm like 20.

SPEAKER_02

High quality, bad. 21 episodes in, bro.

SPEAKER_01

21 is that's what I'm saying. That's not good because I'm at episode like five or six. It's a this and I'm struggling.

SPEAKER_02

It's moments, but I'm just like, I can't. The main character's voice, I don't like it either.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. The whining when I like a show, I know I like a show, especially when it's anime. I I'm I'm like, it's it's Godfrey, it's 12:30 at night. You need to go to bed.

SPEAKER_02

And you can't stop one more episode. Nigga, I've been falling asleep in some of these episodes, uh. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like, and they're gonna kill us, but I'm just being honest. When I pause it and go and look at my schedule for work, and that's how no this is not. Yeah, actually, I gotta forget I have to go to work. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah. All right, that's pretty much everything, man. Um, I think you should apologize again. For what?

SPEAKER_01

You know, y'all should wait.

SPEAKER_02

Y'all want me to start potting by myself? Nah. You wild. Yeah, it's the hardest thing in the world, bro. Well, potting by yourself. Oh my god. I don't know how to do it. You potted by yourself? I tried it like a long time ago. I I know my limitations. That shit is impossible. I can pott by myself if it's if I'm talking about like the faith. Oh no, yeah, that's of course. I just I need somebody to Oh, absolutely, yeah. But um take us out, man.

SPEAKER_01

Listen, again, I want to apologize for my absence. But you know, I'm gonna say this real quick. I'm this is a half apology because I'm going away again. Oh, yes. But um I'm gonna make sure that uh we are taking care of before and after so that we can continue to have our beautiful relationship as cast and crew.

SPEAKER_04

Alright, and with that being said, that is a wrap. God bless, Godspeed. Thank you.
