Shout out the New York Knicks. Been 20, was it 27 years since you've been in a championship and even longer since we won it? 1973 was the last time we won an NBA championship. We haven't done it yet. The job's not done, but it's gonna happen.

I seen an elderly black man with a Tim Duncan jersey. Yeah. And he was stranded. Okay. I seen um a bunch of white boys getting a snot beat out of them for wearing Spurs jerseys. They're from Jersey? Uh they wearing Spurs jerseys. Oh, they're from Jersey. I don't know. There was one guy from Jersey. I was like. Um, I seen a black kid, again, I I don't remember what jersey he was wearing, like uh player-wise. We had a Spurs jersey. And he was like, he kind of gave up. He was like, hey, yeah, yo, hold on, guy. Y'all could go ahead, rip it, rip it. He tried to take it off. Then he did the, you know, as black men, we don't I'm already letting you like, bro, let me take the jersey off myself. And they had a problem with that. They were like, no, no, no, we want to take it off for you. And he was like, nah, bro, all right, relax.

So, first of all, just based off the first example you gave with the elderly black man, the elder, um, that alone tells me this is younger, a younger crowd. This is guys who are teenagers, probably up until I'm gonna be gracious and say like 28, 29. People over a certain age know you're not gonna do that to an older person. Yeah. That's respect. This newer generation has that YN energy. Would we be talking about um what are these young rappers' names? Oh, yeah. Lil Dur, NBA Youngboy. They have that type of energy. They don't care. They're not necessarily Knicks fans. They're just looking, they're just ex um, they're just basically taking advantage of an opportunity to be violent and chaotic. So I don't really like the generalization of Knicks fans. Gotcha. Which everyone's been saying, Oh, these Knicks fans, we thought you guys were this. That's not Knicks fans. Grown adult Knicks fans who actually have been with the Knicks in, you know, terri terrible years, are in the bars, are at the watch parties, upset, drinking, and then they just go home. Okay. I'm telling you, someone who works for the city in the city, when uh uh the game's going on last night, I was working. And in my area, there's more, you know, of a higher class, better echelon, or higher echelonage of people who uh who are just older people. You have to, you know, certain demographics in terms of age. I live here. There was no rabid beatings going on. Okay. So clearly you have a bunch of kids or young people from all over the city gathering in areas in mass and taking advantage of that. This kind of like, you know, brings us back to 2020 with the riots. It's people taking advantage of the chaos. So I'm not justifying it, and I'm also not gonna, you know, say that it's Knicks fans, it's just young people being wild. This happens in small cities all the time when they win championships. The Philadelphia Eagle fans are fine.

They had a project screen it was on a block. Um that didn't look like the safest area in the world. Okay, but they were chilling. They had a uh uh a laptop with a projection screen, and it had a projection screen coming down on a brownstone.

Bunch of dudes watching the game. No harm, no foul. White lady walks by, puts a gigantic hole in their uh their their screen. How'd she do it? Wait, wait, wait. She punched it. Like it's a you know one of those screens that you project on, like a projector screen, so it's very and she proceeded to get I mean, violence against women is you know never a good thing. Yeah. But play stupid games with stupid prizes. So she was probably the only video that I saw personally that deserved it. Yeah. Um What happened to her? They took care of her, packed her up. That's the term I was waiting for. That's my favorite term. It packed up. It packed her up, they got her up out of there, but she ruined it for them, obviously. Yeah, like that was Yeah. Now, this is where I think sports and the multiverse that we live in, that we report on, that we bring to you people across. I wanna hear I heard Cardi B, great New Yorker, by the way, said that there was a dark aura because she performed at halftime in the arena because of El Trump. Um, any hijinks, any hocus pocus, any we need a conspiracy button. I'm just gonna make one up right now. That can't be it. Um yeah, dude. Mountain Dew. Well, yeah, um any um mysticism you think was going on or you felt was affecting the game. I definitely think uh Donald Trump's uh his presence, forget about the game itself, but because the city had to quarantine MSG, the the Spurs players got to kind of you know just walk through kind of freely like that whole comfortable. Yeah, get into the arena and having to go through those rabid fans, not the ones that are violent, just the ones that are very passionate about their team. That I I always felt that um the Knicks' home court advantage was gonna be too much for this young Spurs team, but I feel like Donald Trump's boneheaded decision to show up to this game kind of removed part of the home court advantage. And then the pricing of the game that was disgusting. Like there was um the I don't know if you're familiar with these uh streamers, but there's a young streamer, uh some Dominican kid, his name is Fanum, and he was at the game because he can afford to be. And he was with uh some like Jewish jeweler kid, you know, hip hop. Uh so they the both of them were like, hey, the prices are too expensive because if we were the only ones really standing up and cheering, and while we were doing it, they told us to sit down. Like relax. That's crazy. Because, you know, but that's the hope. Spike, come on, spike is there. Like we should everybody should be acting like Spike. This is the this is the moment.

Any uh Well, I think that um the for me, not really hocus pocus, but it's just more of a uh hidden signal, not really hidden, it was very obvious that being a Knicks fan, a real Knicks fan, doesn't mean as much as you know being a fan of any other team. Because that arena was filled with clearly, you know, wealthy, privileged to call it. And it became a class thing. Like if you want to be at the actual game and witness it, you have to be a certain, you know, tax bracket. Trump being there, he's amongst other people like him. We all rich. And it wasn't his decision, just I'm gonna be here. Dolan, who's a good friend of his, I guess, invited him. And Trump's decision to go was bad, but at the same time, it was an opportunity for him to show up there while Mam Dani's there.

Exactly. It was a lot of performative you know actions. And to be fair, it was Trump City first, and he was going to get Knicks games way back in the day. Adam Silver did say that.

You can find the footage, he's he's always been there, you know. But um, I think that Trump being there in these times, knowing like what where New York is, definitely would have affected it. Okay. Obviously, you know, people are not fans of Trump right now. They booed him when they when they showed him on the big screen. My man with the salute. Yeah, and I was crazy. You know, like he's still a president. Yeah, yeah. But the point is that that didn't help, and then on top of that, sending away the actual fans who've been there from all the playoff games and say y'all can't be around here showed like this is a class thing. Y'all just can't be here. Yeah, this is a rich people's event. And for Wemby and them to have to walk through that crowd or just be in the the energy, the energy's real. And those people being there, like all of the Knicks fans, that energy would have definitely made.

Knicks fans leaving, those are not Knicks fans. Yeah. When I say, oh, people heading for the X, I was like, what in a playoff game? Yeah, not a playoff game. In a finals game? No. Yeah, come on. Real Knicks fans would have been there. Come on, they would have been, and that alone would have made like guys like OG Ed and Obi, Brunson, whoever, cat, all of them would have just still been trying. And they did, you know, but it's like it's not the same as having your real fans there. So no real hocus pocus, just the obvious.

So this is just interesting that the the face of the league, or one of the faces of the league that they're trying to promote, his whole thing is gonna be extraterrestrial. Very interesting.

So it's like a ushering in of something. Furthermore, the two players on the Spurs of the time were Tim Duncan and David Robinson, known as the Twin Towers. Ooh. Now we have Wemby, and in the place of the Twin Towers, we have one tower, Wemby, a bigger tower, taller tower. So it's all connected in a way. And then on top of that, you gotta understand in 1998, who won an NBA championship? Uh, I believe it was the Bulls with Michael Jordan. So at that point, we're like, all right, so how do we go from Michael Jordan to know Michael Jordan? So what they did is they say, we're gonna highlight New York. We're gonna let New York, well, I'm not saying let, but New York made it and they capitalized on that. Oh, they cheated to get Ewing, too.

But they went from the Knicks, you know, not making it to the Knicks making it to the championship as an eighth seed to go against the Spurs while ushering a new star, a la Tim Duncan. This year, we're about to, you know, LeBron's on his last leg, so you know it's like we gotta usher into a new star, Wemby, and we have to use the biggest city to divert attention from a boring finals to make it's New York versus the new face, so that we can easily transition from LeBron to a new era. So it's like a repeating of the same thing.

The the two biggest uh movies are um Obsession, which uh we spoke about last episode, a horror movie, and um this new kind of thriller called Backrooms. I haven't seen Backrooms yet. Pause. Uh you looked at me weird. No, I just I just never heard that name. Yeah. Yeah, it's a movie. Look at that. So back rooms. Yeah, both um both directors are like first-time directors, fresh out the womb of directing, and one of the guys, uh, I think the director from Backrooms, uh, are you familiar with the term? This is like some deep cut internet lore that uh definitely the casting crew are gonna know what I'm talking about. Are you familiar with the phrase creepypasta? No, so a creepypasta is like an internet story that it's it's it's in the name is creepy, but it's like a copy and pasted thing. Okay, so it's like if I made a story, I can't I can't Slender Man was a creepypasta. A creepy pasta. So it started online as a story, uh-huh, and then it people just keep reposting the same story to my tweet a little bit, and then it's just it becomes like internet lore. Okay. So there's a bunch of creepy pastas, there's a bunch of them, and the the creepy part is what makes it fun. It's like, oh yeah, I saw Slender Man too, and then she he was out my window, whatever. Why pasta? I think it's it's uh copy and paste, it's like a play on paste. I think I'm just I'm assuming these things. Oh yeah. Oh, clever, man. It's internet, it's in internet, yeah. So so yeah, and there's a bunch of them, it's it's a ton of them. There's like there's like there's funny ones too, but I I think they all still fall under creepypasta. Okay, yeah, so it's just a thing that you can just copy and paste, tweak a little bit, and then oh, it's yours. We all we're all in on it. We're all in on it. So apparently, Backrooms was a creepypasta that he made a YouTube video of. Then I believe it's A24. Don't uh correct me, I'm not good at this journalism thing yet. Um, I think A24 picked him up and funded him, and now it's like the number one movie or number two movie right now. And it has um it has pretty decent actors in there, but it doesn't have any of the you know the A-listers, and it's killing uh, I believe the Mandalorian and Grogu, which is like Star Wars and um Pascal and Baby Yoda, and it's it's smoking that. They didn't capitalize when it was supposed to. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're definitely right now. Can I give him some defense though? Go ahead. We had a writer's strike, and we have the rise of AI. Okay. It's so much easier to make things with AI now. Sure. So the regular average Joe can make things easier. This is true. And the writer's strike really it's a lot of things in Hollywood that got packed up that secretly like were like, hey, what was supposed to happen with this? That just the writer's strike.

Like, you know, there's writers who are still willing to write if you just pay him on the side. They can make it happen if they really want to. Let's come on. No, teach us. Um The Mandalorian is, or Mandalorians in general are a warrior class. They're usually going to be um mercenaries. Some of them have killed, you know, Jedi. So they're dangerous. My guy is rolling on the floor with whoever this girl is, um, I forget her name, something Toronto. Great, great actress, great person in general, um, as far as I can see. But like, she's punching him in the face while he has on a the mask. I'm like, this is what are we talking about? She should have broken her hand on that.

So it started off good, just like everything Star Wars does now, and then they just took you downhill in the spiral. So for me, the excitement was way gone.

Because I'm hearing that these two directors, these two young guns, Mr. Creepy Pasta, and I I don't know the other guy's name. Obsession is a great movie, though. Go and watch it. They they put their names on the project, but it's actually some real director that directed these movies just to get these kids in the door. Because one of them is like 20.

I went to a Comic Con, Brooklyn Comic Con at that, full of black people, which I love. And um I'm like an OG nerd blurred, that's how we call it. So for me coming up, you know, this was at least where I was the area. It wasn't available. And you would have gotten made fun of. 100%. But I just me in general, I wasn't the type of person to want to dress up as my favorite character. I wanted to like translate it to real life. So that's a part of why like I used to like working out and sports were competitive. It was the closest, and I used to like fighting to play fighting and stuff like that. So I used to like translate to that. So to see people have the availability, especially like it was amount of the amount of black people there, which is beautiful to see us be able to be amongst ourselves or not be amongst our tribe, regardless of race. And to be able to do these things. Um to they had a uh arena where they were wrestling live. Oh word, like the whole like jumping off the side, and these are like regular people who practice this, and the crowd was electric over that. Obviously, you had the vendors, then you had an area where it was just comics you could buy, then there was a food court, a game, a game room where they had like every every uh console across the street was another spot. It was just it was beautiful to see. It was on Meadow Street in Brooklyn, 23 23 Meadow Street in Brooklyn. Um, I had a great time. They had a lot of apparel they were selling. And um, all overall, I would say that we need to like highlight Brooklyn's um Comic-Con. We need to add more. People need to start going through.

Like, it was like too much, and then they didn't know what to do with the love triangle of Sasuke soccer or Naruto. So they just like like where did Hanata's affection for like they they they showed it eventually, but to me it was kind of like forced at the end, and then they didn't know how to end the show. Like Madara should have just been the bad guy, but they were just like, nah, we're gonna make uh perfect, right? The the Naruto Sasuke thing was hard work versus innate talent, and then we come to find out that no Naruto was innate talent because he's a descendant of Ashira or whatever. It's like nah that Naruto should have just been the example of I'm just ill because I worked hard, not because I was not I was reincarnated from this ancient because that's what kind of ruined it for me is like we don't know Naruto's um his clan, they could have kept the clan thing, like his clan was still very you know powerful in the sense that they have a lot of chakra and seals, like they could have added that. He didn't even he don't even got that in his bag really. But the fact that he was just a reincarnation of this powerful person would kind of beat kind of beat the whole idea of this guy just worked really hard versus Sasuke, who was super talented, because we see that all the time in real life and other anime and stuff like that. You can make the argument it's like Goku Vegeta. Yeah, so yeah, that was my only thing.
