All Wizards Talk is your go-to podcast for everything regarding the Washington Wizards. This show is hosted by beat writers Bryson Akins and Henry Brown of Wizards on SI, and Joshua Valdez of ClutchPoints. They bring inside knowledge of the team, along with in-depth topics from press conferences and games.
Welcome back to All Wizards Talk. I am one of your co-hosts, Henry J. Brown, joined by Josh Valdez here. Bretton Akins, our our our favorite recordee of these podcasts, is not in action today. But rest assured he has some thoughts because today was a big day. This was the day that Anthony Davis was eligible to sign an extension with the Wizards, but the team decided to table their thoughts on any negotiations, at least through the rest of the summer. And uh that news was broken by a different Josh, Josh Robbins of The Athletic. But we have our Josh here. Any thoughts initially to give on this big news today?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You know, I I it's what I expected, honestly. I didn't I didn't think they would do anything rash uh, you know, before the season even started. But, you know, I I didn't want to like eliminate any possibility, especially after they gave Trey Young uh four years to 12 million, right? You know, I didn't I didn't expect them to go high. I didn't expect them to go that high on him either. So, you know, I I didn't want to assume anything, you know, but uh this this this is a great development because this is the right move. You know, you gotta make uh Davis you know earn anything that he wants because he he doesn't, you know, we we all know this story. You know, he he doesn't play enough, and we need to see him play before not just the Wizards, before anyone in the league can offer him anything close to the four years, 275 that he's eligible for. Um, on top of that, I don't think it makes sense for the Wizards to sign him under any circumstances. That's you know a bit more of a debatable point, I suppose. But um I think that he's just too old uh to make sense for their timeline. You know, signing Trey made sense. He's only 27, uh, but I think AD needs to be on a team that can win the championship every year. The Wizards aren't there yet. Uh but uh my my last my last point on my rant here is that you know Will Dawkins again told me in April that um he views getting Trey Young and AD the similar in a similar light as getting you know Tyus Jones or Kyle Kuzma or Chris Middleton. It's just that they're better players, but they're there to you know be good vets and to help the young guys learn how to win and how to form good habits. You know, now Trey Young and AD will really get the young guys into really competitive games, um, just on a higher level than what was being done before. But it's in the same light. Like the vets are there to serve the young guys, not the other way around. So, so so don't give two nine-figure maxes to vets after saying that, right? So I think they're on the right track.
SPEAKER_00They're doing what smart teams do. You don't get married to these guys who are sort of passing through, aren't on the same developmental timeline, aren't their own draft picks. Yeah. And that's what makes it funny, is that I think if you go back and listen to our last couple podcasts, we've all been pretty scared for this. It's like it was this big day. It was, to me, the biggest question remaining for the offseason. What are they gonna do with AD? Um, especially after the draft, the trailing resolution. This was like the big last domino that was left to fall. And we were, I I don't think any of us thought this was gonna happen, but I think like we're 25% of our minds was like, but what if? We were just trying to be ready because this is a team that doesn't like to let anyone know what they're thinking. They like to surprise the AD thing, certainly surprised all of us, more so than the Trey Young uh signing. Not signing, sorry, the Trey Young acquisition over over trade. And the Trey Young extension, sort of the pseudo-extension out of free agency. I think that really shook people from the Wizards as as this team who likes to likes to build through the sneaky trades and drafting. They handed a pretty big contract to someone who'd played five games with the Wizards, was sort of at a low point asset-wise. And it was honestly about as much yearly as he was making before he was a wizard. So people saw that and wondered if they were gonna do the same thing for AD. But I think that would have completely been been a stick in their bicycle spokes as this kind of albatross that really could have hindered the extension maxing of the rest of the young guys. The Trey Young deal, you can you can deal with. That's 212 over four years, and it's already going to infect next year. So it won't really overlap with all of the big deals that are coming for all the young guys. Age hasn't played a game. The first time he'll be extended is after Trey Young's contract is over, after the player options are already out of the way. And the AD thing would have made that even harder because while Trey was on already on the hook for four years 212, the AD number is gonna be four years 275. And those together just would have been brutal. I I don't I don't know how they could have gotten any of their draft-based accomplishments done over the next couple years. And it's the kind of thing that I think we're all gonna be like, of course it's gonna happen, but I think we were all you know a little bit worried about what was gonna happen as soon as he became eligible. Like the clutch factor was probably in play.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so the Yeah, so the thing with Trey's deal, right, is that I think they pay too much, but like you said, it doesn't stop them from from signing their young guys. Um, you know, it just gives a little bit less space to do so, but they can still do it. Like Sarkey, those guys will probably sign next summer. Um and then from there, you know, then after that, you got Trey Johnson and Will Riley, maybe the year after that. Um Trey's deal alone isn't gonna mess with that too much. But if you add Trey's deal with AD, it's like then it's like two-thirds of the or over two-thirds of the cap between those two guys. It's like almost $500 million or whatever it would have been, you know, tied up between them, uh at least $400 million, you know, over the next few years. So um, you know, with this current CBA, you just you just can't have that, especially when you're trying to invest in a in a you know, it's in a deep young core, it would have made no sense, um, especially with someone as old as Davis. So, you know, I I think that this is the right move, and we expected it, but we just wanted to make sure, you know. So this is us making sure. And that's a great thing.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. And just by the numbers, now that we know he's going to be going to this next season with the last guaranteed year of his contract, which was always in play as a matter of what came after that. He's gonna be looking at uh over $58 million this this next season. So the extension on an average annual basis would have been even more than that. It's because 275 divided by four. That's that's more than 58. And the player option that's to come in the 28th season is worth almost 63 million dollars. So these are the numbers that Wizards fans have to um get used to with AD now that we know he's gonna be here, at least through the trade guideline, because that's the that's the date we're gonna be looking at now that this August 6th uh opening has has come and gone. Is that's now what we're gonna see. Now that you know they're gonna make AD play his way into reproving his value and show that I am a wizard. That's now now it's a matter of are they gonna trade him while his value's high.
SPEAKER_01Right. And then and that's just the key. He's just he's just gotta play basketball, you know. Um you say it like that. Right. I mean he had he just he's gotta hoop like consistently. He's just gotta be on the court. Because when he's on the court, I'm not not worried about him being good. He's he's still an amazing player, but and and the good thing is that he's never had like a catastrophic injury through all this.
SPEAKER_00It's funny, it's just this legendarily long list of injuries. It's not like he blew out two ACLs in three years.
SPEAKER_01I mean, the worst thing was his eye thing, but that could happen to anybody. Yeah, you know, um, you know, now he just has to wear goggles. But um, you know, I mean, yeah, if he does pick up that option next season, it's still okay. Uh, because again, you know, sorry, Sar and Key's extensions won't start until after that, so that's fine. Um, but it's just it's just after that season, it's just where the that's where it gets really funky.
SPEAKER_00So and you and I have said this on Path Podcast with Bryce, and we've all been it's the rare time all three of us have been lockstep on something. Is that player option? It sounds tough to swallow, the 62.7 mil. Um, but if you're talking about that or four more years after next year, we should we should be better at math than this. What's two chance 275 divided by four? That's gonna be doing some quick math. It's it's almost 69 mil a year. A year when he's entering, he's and he's gonna end that when he's like a 36-year-old man. He's like 32 right now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you can't you can't have that.
SPEAKER_00You know, it's just that's such a low chance of working out.
SPEAKER_01And I don't, I don't, I don't think, you know, they're gonna I don't think they would sign him to a max anyway. If they did sign him, it would be less than the max, but but he but even signing him at all, I still think it wouldn't be worth it, just because again, it's like the timeline. You know, you can't you just can't get around that, the timeline. You know, it's like everyone knows that the Wizards are not gonna win the championship this season, probably the one after that, too. Although they could make a deep run in in 2028, but I don't think they're gonna win the championship that year either. I think after those two years, you could look at it. We could talk. But but but you know, by then 80's 35, going on 36 or whatever, it's not it doesn't make a ton of sense, right? So yeah, um, I think that yeah, they can talk. Uh, but he just if he does play consistently, if he only misses a couple games by the time December, January rolls around. Um thank you. I think that then it could be like, all right. Now other teams are gonna start looking at him like, all right, well, AD's looking good, he's looking healthy. You know, we're trying to win a chip this season. Let's try to let's try to get him and sign him. Then the Wizards are okay, then we can help you with that. We can we can help every party, all the parties with that, the team and AD, you know, they'll sign you to the deal you want. You can go win a chip, go try to win a chip over there, but that it only works after he plays like, you know, 30 games or whatever it is, you know, in the first half of the season.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, all eyes were already on AD before, uh even during the end of the season, because unlike Trey Young, who bought in almost immediately, there were reports that the Wizards were one of his preferred trade destinations in the event of a move. AD wasn't needed more time. He basically told us himself. He was like, I'm gonna have extensive conversations at the front office this summer to find out what their long-term plan is, how they plan to approach that through the draft, free agency, um, how they're managing their assets. He he had to sort of see it to believe it. And now the wizards are just sort of returning that exact same favor. They're saying, You got to show us that you're a wizard and you can actually benefit us on the court. And it's funny, for all of the the strangeness that is AD and Trey Young on the Wizards, which just would have been impossible to imagine, like last year. I mean, um now AD actually is in a pretty fortunate situation. If you think about his now his his goal now being, let me prove my worth that I'm I'm still a max caliber player financially. This is this is pretty well set up for him. He's always been someone who said, I don't want to play center. I'd rather not, you know, he gets if you if you rebound like that that aggressively and you're in the paint that much, you're gonna get banged up. It's just gonna happen. And now you have Sarr next to him, a true seven-footer, who isn't the same career career rebounder, but he can also get his hands dirty. He's also a switch heavy rim protector. He can do honestly a lot of the same things AD can or could at his at his uh athletic apex. So now that's someone to share that sort of burden with. Saar was someone last year who had a lot on his defensive plate. AD won't have to do as much. Um, and he also is gonna have the space to create offense on his own. He's gonna have Trey Young to pass on the ball if AD doesn't want to do everything on his own. And it's it's a deep situation in which he won't have to expend too much energy. There's there's you know a lot of guys who could start on this team. They're not a contender, but there's a lot of guys worth playing, and I think that helps if the idea for AD is let me not wear myself out trying to get more money.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, as you know, it's funny about the the playing the five thing. Like I and I know I don't think SAR is a pure five either.
SPEAKER_00I mean it's not really, not really.
SPEAKER_01They can just sort of both like cosplay as these four-five combos. Right. It's cut they're kind of like the same in that respect where it's like they're both kind of better at the four, to be honest.
SPEAKER_00But like, you know, yeah, SAR's not really physical like AD is, but AD isn't like as tall as SAR is, so it's they do in a weird way complement each other.
SPEAKER_01It's yeah, it's this it's this weird thing where either one could be the four or the five, you know. Um, but yeah, I think they'll they'll probably let AD chill a little bit, not like not play the five too much. Um again, for that, you know, because SAR is younger and can just handle his body a little a little bit more, you know. Um but yeah, I mean, again, it like you said, I I and I think that's why AD has has chilled recently. You know, he he hasn't been as aggressive about like, you know, hey, you know, uh this team's like not that good, to be honest. You know, we gotta see what happens. And you know, and then and that was reasonable when he did that too. I mean, he wasn't wrong, yeah. He wasn't wrong. It was just that, you know, he was like, Yeah, the teams don't you know go worse to worse to best right away, so we gotta see. And he kept saying it, which the fans were like, we already know. Yeah, and it's so it's like now it's like now he's not he's kind of off that now, he's chilling, he seems happy to be there and everything. So I think you know, he it's it's probably like you said, it's like this is a really good spot just to reset, you know, he's been through a lot in his career recently with the the Luca trade and then getting traded to DC, like not like within a year of each other, right? So um, you know, now this is the time to reset. Okay, let me prove myself, let me stay healthy. Because a healthy Anthony Davis is gonna be a coveted asset, you know, for the entire league once that actually happens. It's just everyone has to see it, and that's it. That that's kind of what the whole conversation always comes down to. Just stay on the court and good things will happen. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00I think our favorite reference point for what to expect um is going to be that first game he had is a Dallas Maverick. Um, unfortunately, he got hurt midway through that game, which really just showed the AD story that he was awesome in this game. He had like 26 points in the first half or whatever, um, like a few blocks, but then he couldn't finish the game, which is a real shame. But even in Dallas, he had more to do than he than he would in Washington. Like the fact that Trey Young is going to just have the ball a lot and he's going to be dictating the offense, and it's gonna be other young guys who the coaches are going to prioritize to a level. Um, you know that he has a lot to give. They don't have to run him up on the minutes, they don't have to play him on every back-to-back, even though he did say I want to play all 82. We all know eight 82 is a tough number to meet. Like, that's like the bub special. Not everyone, yeah, most coveted assets aren't aren't even asked to do that because there's just gonna be so much more tread wiped off your tires that we'd rather you not do that. Even though it's a great thought, we're super thankful that he he knows I have to be available to prove myself, but you don't need to play every game. And to me, that's a good thing for all parties involved. Like the Wizards don't need an injured Anthony Davis, they already didn't, they haven't gotten to see him yet after getting him in February, and they also just, you know, if he's trying to get some more money, here's the way don't tire myself out too much.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um yeah, and that's the thing, right? It's like, okay, um, this is a team, yes, they're not ready to win a chip, but you got DeBonsa, Trey Young, Sar, like defenses aren't even gonna be like keyed in on AD like that heavy. If you I mean, they'll they'll of course will key on at him somewhat, but they're not gonna be able to like double him and then hack him all the time because they got to pay attention to all these other guys, right? You haven't even gotten to like Keyshawn yet and trade Johnson off the bench. Like, they got a lot of threats that defenses have to have to take account for, you know, at least when he's on the offensive side. And then when he's on defense, that's where I think he'll do the bulk of his work. But you know, offensively, he's not gonna have to create anything. He he'll he can just you know be able to finish stuff and get some good looks, you know what I mean? And and and get some get some boards, you know, on the glass. But yeah, he's he's gonna be able to showcase himself without like you know killing his body too much, without being asked to carry everything, because that's where the that's where it starts to get funky, you know. You know, I mean with the Lakers, he had to do a ton of work, right? And he had no center depth. Right. And you know, with Dallas, he still had to do work, like you were saying. Um the but the Wizards will be, I think, he'll it'll be the most complimentary role he's had, you know, in a really, really long time. Probably since his like, you know, he was early on in his career, maybe, you know. I mean, he was always like the guy coming in, but you know, I he didn't reach like that apex until later on in his New Orleans tenure, you know. So um, and I'm not saying he's gonna be like a role player, I'm just saying that he will be able to just not be the focal point of the the the opposing team all the time, and that's gonna be just huge for him, both for his production and his health.
SPEAKER_00You're right, and that's just another reason why the max contract is sort of unnecessarily risky because he's not being used as a focal point. It sort of doesn't make sense if you're paying someone of that age with that kind of mileage to be a max player that he's not even being utilized as on the court. You're paying him for the name at that point and not exactly what he's gonna be giving you as a wizard.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So now, like now that we have this report, like we have some clarity that, all right, you know, there's not gonna be any crazy business happening with AD before this season. Uh we're we're kind of off the AD to you know warriors trade thing now, right? That from earlier in the off-season. Uh, you know, so now what are you what's your overall just thoughts now with because this AD thing was kind of one of the defining stories for the Wizards offseason. Now that we have some clarity, just what are your overall thoughts?
SPEAKER_00To me, this just sort of bumps him a little bit higher on our list of um upcoming season-long storylines as someone who now has a bit more to prove than he were. I mean, if he already has the contract, then it's a matter of like, can you back up the contract? But yeah, now now it's like you he's still in the advertising. Um audition. Yeah, yeah. It's still like he's auditioning for the Wizards' long-term fancy. So I think he's gonna attract even more eyes and potentially even more scrutiny from the media now. As can you fit what this team needs you to be? Because that's that's what it is. That's that's why they signed Trey Young. It was Will Dawkins told the media like we're not just paying him because we think he's worth 56 million annually or whatever it is. It's that we know that he provides value as a flowraiser, that he just by having him, you get to just take more of the uh priority off of the young guys from a ball handling standpoint. They're not paying you just for your box score stats. It's it's what can we give you from how can you help our long-term vision? And that that is again, that's the one thing where AD had a bit of a holdup. He's not in the in the situ in the position of not throwing years away, but he wants to make sure every year of his counts in the pursuit of a second ring. So it's a it's a matter of what can he do to impress the organization, what can the organization do to impress AD? Because again, if he has a player option, that might also, if if they decide to wait on that. And that could be a factor next upcoming season. But to me, in in short, I rambled a bit there. It's that I I just believe that this this he may be a it's gonna be AJ number one on the on the list of like protagonists for that season. But now this just puts AD above Trey Young, like decisively. And then you can argue after that, it'll be Bilal three if he does not get the extension that he that that he could get this summer.
SPEAKER_01That's interesting. Oh, but because Bilal would also have something to prove if he doesn't get the extra.
SPEAKER_00That's two guys who were who are gunning for an extension like at the same time, funny, funny enough. Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, um, two guys, completely different situations, but they they have that in common. They're both uh, you know, gonna be looking at new deals. Yeah. Um that that's interesting that you put A D decisively above Trey Young.
SPEAKER_00Because I think it was already like they were around the same, and they're both I think Trey Young has more to prove than AD does, because AD is already a Hall of Famer. He's a made man, he has twice as many all-star appearances as Trey Young does, 10 to 4. Right. And Trey Young, it's it's still a matter of like, can you win with this group? So I think it was Trey Young, I think I had ahead of him, but now that AD the ramifications of extension are just so much more vast than Trey Young's was. Trey's contract, he hit the player option a full year ahead of AD. So he already had to get this big decision determined about him this summer. And we already talked about if you stack the Trey Young and the AD extensions, those are those are two, that's a completely different situation than it was before. Like they're they're extensions on their own are one thing, but together they're this massive obstacle for paying all the guys that they're gonna want to pay down the road. And so now that it's a matter of like there's still a question. We we don't know for certain for certain if he's not gonna get it or not. And now that question is still in the air, as opposed to it already being settled today.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, it makes sense. I mean, you know, Trey's kind of settled from that perspective with the contract, like you said. Um, I I still think that Trey has to show, like, okay, that five-game sample, like, give me more of that. Because now that you've already got this money, they they kind of I think jumping on a little bit with giving him that much that early. He like, if you could just really cook and prove that it's fine, then it'll be cool. Just from a value standpoint, even if Trey doesn't really get in the way of you know the young guys on his own getting their money. But you know, I still think Trey has to prove that it's just it's just the reverse of AD.
SPEAKER_00You know, he just he has to prove that he he was worth it, whereas AD has to prove he is worth it. Yeah. Yeah, it's a different, it's a different kind of uh expectation, is Little Danya. I'm gonna speak for um our sweet Bryson, um, who he I think liked the Trey Young deal more than you were. I didn't I didn't dislike it. I I was sort of neutral on it because it was just a matter of like the the details at the end, like the the rising annual thing and the player option. Um and we did see it as a bit of an overpay, but it again the the front office did say like we're we're we're not they they can't afford it right now. The money had to go somewhere. Um, but if you're looking at it in a vacuum, yeah, it's a lot. And I I think that that he's right there at the top. Like Trey Young, I think it's funny that Sar and Keyshawn were like the stars of this last season, and now they're like in a funny way down here, just because these guys, the new guys, just have have so many more financial incentives already attached to them. Now there's a question of are these guys going to be worth what we've already committed to them, as opposed to are Saar and Keyshawn worthy of max contracts as far as rookie extensions go.
SPEAKER_01Right. It's you know, I agree. I I still view Trey and AD similarly. It's just that Trey, we know he's he's in DC for a while. Um, but yeah, AJ1, I agree. Yeah, Sar and Key, you know, and that's the thing is we just have no concept of what this looks like. It's so weird.
SPEAKER_00Like no, and that's the thing. Usually there's these these first seasons of a team taking the step forward. You can feel like when the Pistons two years ago had that first step, it's really fun. Usually These kind of seasons don't have a ton of fans like ripping out their hair trying to watch it because they're so stressed. Um and yet there's still a lot riding on this season. There's a bunch of guys who have a lot of money to be made, whether it's Sarah Keyshawn who are up for their first year of rookie extension eligibility this upcoming summer after this. Um, who's to know what's going to happen with AD? Bilal is still sort of hanging in the air. And they're funny enough, like for as free as it's being sort of painted as this team that finally has the luxury of not being handcuffed to uh draft odds. Yeah. I mean, everyone has a lot to gain from what they can accomplish individually beyond just as a team.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and like, you know, my man uh Isaac Harris said, you know, like he was talking about source, like it's gonna be a war in training camp. It's not just for playing time, it also it's going goes to that money aspect, like more playing time, more production, more money, right? Not everyone's gonna get everything, right? It's like I mean, we knew that before the train 80 stuff happened, but now it's just like extra emphasized. I mean, if Bilal doesn't sign this offseason, it's like he's you know, he's gonna be going into his contract yeah. So without without a new deal. So it's like, and he's not that high in the peck and order anymore in comparison to before, you know.
SPEAKER_00So he's gonna have to really full-time bench roll since he was working.
SPEAKER_01He's gonna have to really make the most of his minutes. Um, you know, so yeah, it's just like now A D is in the same boat as those young guys. It's just that he his next deal just might not be in DC, whereas the the young guys are trying to look to stay in DC, most likely.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, we're all gonna drum up drum up some trade rumors over the next couple months just in the back of our minds in case anything does happen. But yeah, as we said, I think Bilal is now from now on, the rest of the offseason, the protagonist of what's left. Right. We've already seen the video of him shooting in training camp. It looks really good. I gotta make sure we don't make this our version of Ben Simmons knocking down threes in an opening.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, no, don't don't don't disrespect Ballal like that. I mean, he's got a he's got to work on his three, but it's not Ben Simmons.
SPEAKER_00No, no, that's my way of saying it's just training camp. It's not real. Right, but that would be really big. And if there's one way to impress the offseason um management team, it's to show that I can be this guy who can hit threes. Because right now his avenue to make money is just be this AJ DeBonta understudy, finish plays as it's above the rim kind of threat, um, play good defense, uh, and just be a really good role player who can cosplay as a starter sometimes. So now we're gonna, I think, keep the most tabs on him of anyone left, besides, of course, AJ, who's always gonna have the spotlight on him as the number one pick. Um, and last offseason, or I should say, entering last training camp, you and I were both there. We heard Will Dawkins tell us even then that he wants this meritocracy of the building to be more solid than ever. He wants nothing to be given, everything should be taken. And even last year, there was already this we were they were already stacking up on first round picks. Um and like now there's gonna be even more guys who are in the rotation. So that the the the the thing about taken, not given is gonna be even more of a factor. And we it wasn't it was enforced sometimes, but not all the time last season. And now I think I think the pressure's gonna be on way more than it was last time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, I think I think that's a good place to cap this one. You know, we we pretty much it's like now we just have more clarity, right? Now we know that they're not gonna jump to make AD, you know, a big part of the future, just like we thought that was gonna be the case, just because it would have been so extreme. Um, but now we just have that clarity, uh courtesy of Josh Robbins. Um, and now we can just look at, like you said, Balal, what happens with him, because that is a huge question mark. We have no idea about that. Um, and then from there, it's just like, let's see what happens in training camp. It's a it's a very exciting time um, you know, in this space because this team has not been this exciting for many years. And that is the bottom line through all of this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we know that the team that usually takes their time and usually operates in the shadows uh is deciding to take their time with AD and they're not telling us anything. So we we learned their plan here, but this is just confirmation bias of what we already thought about the team. Um they don't like to make rash moves. The Trey Young move wasn't rash, it was just them reading what he thought his value was. And the AD thing is the same thing. They're gonna take their time, they're gonna figure it out, and we're gonna be following along for the whole thing. Um, anything else left to add personally or anything, or just or just you just all AD right now?
SPEAKER_01No, I'm good. I I think you know, this is this is a big item that we needed to check for the offseason. Now we're we're coming, you know, towards like the kind of home stretch here where uh media days in less than two months, I guess. Uh so uh, you know, so yeah, it's it's it's dry, it's gonna get really dry. Yeah, right. So it's good to get this checked off because this was a massive thing that was a little bit up in the air, and now we can chill a little bit. Balal is not as high stakes. So we could, it's it's it's less like you know, this it's not gonna ruin the franchise either way, right?
SPEAKER_00So no, like we were talking about 10% of the cap. That's nothing compared to whatever the AD thing would have been. But um, yeah, I guess I guess we got what we wanted, and we got our podcast episode out of it. So thanks for joining me today, Josh. Um that's all we got for the day. Um, and as Bryson would say, uh, peace. Thanks for watching with us. Peace out.
