00:07:39.600 Yeah. 00:07:39.839 --> 00:07:45.199 Their horns were locked, and there was one antelope that was dragging around another one. 00:07:45.439 --> 00:07:49.439 It had died, it had succumbed to the fight. 00:07:50.160 --> 00:07:54.639 And the hunter saw and looked and was like, oh, obviously, this other one's not gonna make it either. 00:07:54.720 --> 00:08:00.000 It can't defend itself, it can't run, it can't get food, it's just hanging onto this thing. 00:08:00.319 --> 00:08:15.120 And so he went back and got help, and uh somehow they had a bone saw, and he was able to get up there when the other one was kind of resting and cut that thing loose, cut one of those horns loose, and then the that live antelope jumped up and ran off. 00:08:17.199 --> 00:08:33.120 That article got me thinking about that passage in the book of Romans in chapter 7, verse 24, where Paul talks about the body of death that he was attached to. 00:08:34.480 --> 00:08:55.120 In that passage, Paul was lamenting his flesh or his sin nature, or his body of death that was continuing to drag him down, and it was it was dogging his days, even as he lived a life of a committed, born-again Christian. 00:08:56.240 --> 00:08:58.879 Let me read to you a passage starting in verse 15. 00:08:58.960 --> 00:09:07.279 It says, For I do not understand my own actions, for I do not do what I want, but the very thing I hate. 00:09:07.600 --> 00:09:17.600 Now, if I do not do what I want, I agree with the law that it is good, so it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. 00:09:18.080 --> 00:09:28.399 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh, for I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. 00:09:29.200 --> 00:09:36.159 For I do not and want one thing while the body of death holds you down and keeps you from fully and completely functioning as the redeemed new creation God says you are in Christ. 00:11:33.519 --> 00:11:37.840 I would say this is the struggle of every believer. 00:11:40.720 --> 00:11:43.519 All Christians struggle with sin in the body. 00:11:43.759 --> 00:11:50.879 Though we are saved and indwelt by the Holy listening to this, and you don't struggle against sin in your life, if it is not a burden to you, if you can happily come to church and shake hands and smile and visit with your friends on Sunday and the same way that Paul and us need to humbly rely on Christ to save us from the ever-present reality of our sin nature. 00:23:17.279 --> 00:23:23.680 So it is for Noah and his family, and the animals in the ark in our passage in Genesis 8 and 9. 00:23:24.000 --> 00:23:25.200 Think about it. 00:23:26.480 --> 00:23:37.440 Back in Genesis 6, when God decided to cleanse the earth of sin with a flood, it says that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. 00:23:37.839 --> 00:23:40.880 It does not say Noah was sinless. 00:23:42.799 --> 00:23:49.279 In fact, Noah knew he was a sinner, and Noah desired righteousness. 00:23:49.680 --> 00:23:54.880 That was the difference between him and the rest of the people in the world at that time. 00:23:55.440 --> 00:23:59.519 Remember the condemning words that God said of mankind at that time. 00:23:59.839 --> 00:24:06.240 Every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 00:24:06.799 --> 00:24:10.400 There was no struggling found grace in the eyes of the Lord. 00:24:42.000 --> 00:24:52.720 Noah, a sinner, in a world about to be judged for its rampant sin, humbled himself and recognized he needed a savior. 00:24:53.039
