Hi friends, welcome to Matthew 4.4. I'm your host, Winifer. Today I want to talk to you about squirrels. Squirrels. A squirrel. A squirrel is like a person that has a squirrel type personality. They have the inability to stay focused on a goal or task that may be at hand. When something enticing comes into view, somebody who is easily distracted by things other than what they're supposed to be focusing on. That's a squirrel. They're always moving around, touching, touching everything, just like always in search of something. So I want to talk about squirrels. And I'm not talking about the little squirrel that you might have in your backyard, you know, or climbing up there on your porch. People that behave with a squirrel-like mentality. The topic is on adultery, an adulterer. The adulterer has this type of mentality, they do like the ability, the inability to stay focused. You already found something great. God gave you a wife, or you might have a significant other. Some even before you take the vows. After the wedding ceremony, a week after the honeymoon, you see someone. And forget about who you vowed to cherish and honor. But I want to talk about the squirrel mentality. We're going to start with Exodus 20, verse 14. Okay. And it says, You shall not commit adultery. Adultery is to me, because I was in a marriage, adultery is when someone, my standpoint of view, is when someone breaks their vow to me. They may not like have that like consummate that relationship with a sexual act. The mere idea that they are sharing emotions with another person that they said that they were going to only share those types of emotions with me and feelings, consummating a relationship outside of what they consummated with me. An outward expression of love where they are sharing their body with someone that they just met. This person has a nice shaped body, even the they like how smart they are, they just something about them, it draws them to that person. It was so enticing. And then the fact is that you know that I'm depending on you to remember that you made vow with me. We agreed that we were only going to yearn for the desires of one another. Sometimes the acts of adultery isn't because that person's not a good person. You know, that's a perfect fit for them. They adore this person, they love on them, but they lack something in their bedroom. This person is just too fabulous. It's like the trophy. The things that they desire to do with that person in the bedroom seems to that individual that's stepping out of the relationship, maybe they don't want to do whatever the sexual act that they desire. If you are in a relationship and you have made a vow to a person and you've chosen to only be with them, and the only way that you guys are yoked together is through your religious faith. Everything that you could desire in whoever you want to be your partner in life, but you are not equally yoked sexually, your sexual health is important as well as theirs. If you want to do acrobacts in the bedroom and your significant other does not desire that, that's something you guys should have talked about before you made that commitment before God. I think the church needs to come out of the bedroom because it's a relationship between two individuals that decided they were gonna commit to one another, but one of them is a squirrel, and they're just not able to do that, commit. Oftentimes, if you are open and you tell whoever that person is that you just love and adore, you know. I have a wondering eye, I want to be married to you, I want you for my wife, I want you for my husband, but I often find myself attracted to someone other than you. These are things that you need to discuss with that person before you make that commitment because the Bible tells us about behaviors such as this, and you don't want to be judged for committing adultery, you do not. Let's turn to Matthew 5, verse 28, and this is Jesus speaking. Let's start with 27. Matthew 5, verse 27. You have heard that it was said, you shall not commit adultery. Verse 28 goes on to say, but I say to you, everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart, even if you have not even touched them. That's Jesus saying that it's in the red letters. If you even think on it. But I think that you should ask. This is me personally, you need to ask in Jesus' name for the type of person that you want. And it's whatever his will is. Because, see, what you're doing is you're confessing how you feel about the person you like to spend the rest of your life with. You don't want to commit to someone, and everybody you know, oh, they come from a good family, he has a great job, she has a great job. It's stability there. They have a faith. You share the same faith. His mom and dad, they are exceptional. I lived around them, I know they raised them well. They may have, but it's an individual, it's a person. The very private thoughts and desires that that person has in their heart. No one knows all of that except for the Lord. Before you make a commitment like that and wind up realizing that you've actually married a squirrel. You should. And I'm not talking about the times when before you get married, you guys are being counseled by the preacher. These are some things that you might want to go outside of the church and have counseling with someone like that, and I'm not putting the church down because God knows, Lord, I love going to the house of worship, fellowshipping. Because the church is, according to biblical scripture, is in your heart. But before you set out to venture and get a husband or a wife, I don't care who you are, make sure they know what your desires are in the bedroom. When you are asking God for someone, ask him to equip you with the desires that you have in the bedroom, because that's going to turn into lust if you are not fully equipped with that in your relationship. And when I say equipped, equally yoked. Things that you want to do in your bedroom, if your wife or your husband, ew, that's nasty. That's disgusting. The Bible don't say you do that, does it really? What he tells you is do not commit adultery. Back in the Old Testament, they had multiple wives. I wonder what that was all about. Because it wasn't revealed to me. It wasn't uncommon. And even if they had one main wife, if the wife had a slave, she'd give permission, the slave could lay with her husband. Now that was an open relationship. And nothing was said about it. But they understood who the wife was. And if it was more than one wife, of course there was jealousy. But they each had their time with their husband. And each one of them understood that. But we're living in a day now where in the mainstream faith-based system, they frown on multiple wives. They I've never seen it in the Bible where they could have multiple husbands. Yeah, I've never seen it. What was that? No, I didn't. A lot of people get upset with me too, because when God created the man and the woman, he actually created the woman for the man. And if you can't be honest and open with your significant other, the love of your life, and let her know the kind of activity you desire in the bedroom. And I'm not talking about calling it it's a freak in the bedroom. That kind of stuff is thumbs down. A double thumbs down. It's not okay. It's called both of you being honest with each other and meeting each other right there at the middle. And if you are equally yoked, whatever you like to do, I don't care if it's just a wham bam, thank you, man. If that's what you and your significant other desire in your bedroom, that's what you prayed for. You asked for that kind of person, you okay with that? That's fine. But if you want to go forever and ever, you want to ask God for someone that's gonna be able to sustain that kind of behavior. Other than that, you're gonna be arguing over that. You know, people's marriages break up over their sex life, financial stability, any kind of finances, and religion. Sometimes it could be children, but usually the children is something that they both wanted, but it can be overwhelming.
SPEAKER_00But finances with not enough money, not equally yoked in that bedroom.
SPEAKER_01I got you cheating. Okay, and faith. Who we're gonna serve. Most times, nine times out of ten, they've come to grips. Okay, we're gonna serve and praise God over here. Okay, that's where they're gonna they come together with the faith. And sometimes parents are upset, but it's who I'm talking about. Y'all better quit because faith, a lot of them, these are denominations, especially when you're talking about Jesus Christ. I want to tell you something. I was listening to a prominent preacher, a minister. My mom used to love to hear him. And I watched him on live, online, and this man, he broke it down. I mean, seriously, he broke it down, where I was just like, I got it joked. Like, oh, I heard you, Lord. He said, You may be Baptist, whatever it is, you may be church of God in Christ, whatever your faith is, the God that you are expecting to come back here with heaven's army, the one that we're trying to serve and trying to go to heaven to be with. When he gets back here, you gotta understand this that is a Jewish rabbi.
SPEAKER_00That is fact, and he still made a way for his Jewish bloodline to go into heaven.
SPEAKER_01And when I say this, that's why I say people can come to terms as to what faith they're gonna raise their kids under. Money, they're either decide somebody's gonna stay home, whoever is gonna make the most money, the other person's gonna have to let the ego go and let that person be the mainstream money maker. And it's our money, not yours or mine. But then when it comes to that sex life, you want to go over here and be counseled by the preacher? You might. I don't know. His sex life might not be too good in there with him and his woman. Just because they look like everything is okay, he might not be doing that, and he might come and assist whoever it is coming to him in your relationship. He might come and knock on the door and help her him out. I don't know. That's why I suggest whenever you are counseling, you reach out for counseling, go to the professionals outside of the ministry and let Dr.
SPEAKER_00So and so help you.
SPEAKER_01One of my favorite authors, and this was a fictional, but in the book, one of the characters, she knew she had married a man. It was her best friend when she was growing up. She knew she married a man that did not desire a woman. And that was okay because this was way back in the day. Before they were able to come out, everybody was, whenever whoever they want to be with. And they used to marry you. You would marry them, but that was your best friend. They would take good care of them. Anyhow, she married a man like that, and she was so entangled in her desire. He wouldn't, he didn't desire, he wouldn't touch her at all because he didn't desire that. But he didn't mind if she were to have a friend, and he would also go with her out of town just to make sure she was safe so that she could have a little time alone to snuggle up against someone, and then they would come back home, okay? Well, he was gone during a particular time when the heat was on, but the preacher came and she was able to tell him what was going on. He came in and he helped her out with that, okay? So be careful whenever you're inviting the preachers and the deacons to help you counsel you, make sure your husband is on board too. And if it's just you being counseled, my personal opinion is take that to the secular world and invite Jesus in there and sit down and have counseling like that. They used to have a woman, Dr. Ruth, she's not with us anymore. And this doesn't have anything to do with her. I don't know, Dr. Ruth, and I don't have any affiliation with anything of her, but I'm gonna tell you, she used to tell you about that sex life. Yes, she did too. And she was a little tiny somebody. Look her up. But if you are not equally yoked in that sexual department, man, you may as well hang it up. Because either you're gonna be blind and thinking he's not tipping around, or you're gonna he's gonna be blind thinking she's not. In order for them to feel whole, to be you like you look out for your mental health, your actual physical health inside your body, whatever it may be, preventive medications. You also need to make sure that you have a healthy sexual life as well, even if you are saved. Okay. Seriously. There was a few years back, I'm not sure, I think it was maybe 10 years ago. STDs were breaking out in the church community because they were having sexual intercourse with one another, the younger ones. And I was watching online where one of the minister's wives got up and she talked about and told them to wear condos. She just got tired, I guess, hearing about such and such had this and that. And they're arguing about it because they're sneaking and doing that. So, long story short, sexual health between you and your significant other. You want to find out that you're married to a squirrel. You don't want him to bring nothing to you because the first thing you're going to do is try to say you gave it to them. Okay. And plus, you don't want that. You want to be able to love your person all together. You just want to be able to share that part of you with that person. Okay. Because it's a beautiful outward expression of I love you. I'm serious. You can say, you can do things, but when the body is created like that, well, when you make that connection with one another, and that man and that woman's body comes together, you actually are forming one. And what better than that? And that means you are joined together. And that is the height, the most heightened moment of your relationship where you are able to express what you feel towards one another. Versus if you're just like a one-night stand, you're not going to experience that. What you're doing is getting rid of a little bit of actual energy that it's it's different. Okay. All right, now let's move on past that because the Bible tells us that our husbands are to love their wives. Let's go over here to Ephesians. Ephesians 5, verse 25. And that tells us, husbands love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed himself over for her. Did you hear that? That was definitely something. And he did. He put himself on there. He died for all of our sins. Don't have it where he got up there on that cross for your adultery. There's no reason for that. No, it isn't. All right. And let's remember that the body is also a temple of God. Let's turn to First Corinthians chapter 6, verse 19. It says, Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? So recognize when you're married to a squirrel, before it even gets that, before you even say I do, if you're dating them and you just could not wait, okay? And you're in this close, intimate relationship with this person, make sure you guys have had that awkward conversation. For some strange reason, it's awkward to talk about what you desire whenever you are sharing your body in that most intimate moment. You don't want to talk about that because everybody feels uncomfortable, but you don't feel uncomfortable when you're having that intercourse. I think that you should go through the most intimate moment should be when you are sitting there discussing what it is that you desire from one another. And if you feel adamant that what you are desiring in your relationship with whoever it is you're with, then pray to God and ask him to remove that, and he will do it. Yes, he will. It tells us what God will do for us if we put on the whole armor of God. He says, Ephesians 6, verse 10 says, Finally, draw your strength from the Lord and from his mighty power. Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil. For our struggle is not with flesh and blood, but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens. Therefore, put on the armor of God that you may be able to resist on the evil day and having done anything to hold your ground. So stand fast, with your loins girded in truth, clothed with righteousness as a breastplate, and your feet shod in readiness for the gospel of peace. In all circumstances hold faith as a shield, to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one, and take the helmet of salvation in the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. And you heard what he said in verse 16. In all circumstances, hold fast as a shield to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one. That includes your sexual activity with your significant other. Don't be ashamed to have that discussion. It's better that than to burn. Alright, now I want to talk about three types of adulterers. You heard me mention about the one night stand. The Bible makes mention of one. This is a woman and her father-in-law. And I would like for you to go back if you want to get like clarity as to why this occurred. This is about Tamar and her father-in-law, because he she was married to her his son, not just one he married, she married all of them, but they died. And he had promised her that she could have that younger one. And can you imagine that? At her age, however old she was, because I did not go back and do any anything to give you more clarity as to what her age was. But he was a child when her his brothers were dated, and he promised her that last one, and he didn't make do with it. So I want this is one here that's a one-night stand in the Bible. Genesis chapter 38, verse 15 to 19. It says, When Judah saw her, he mistook her for a harlot, since she had covered her face. So he went over to her at the roadside, and not realizing that she was his daughter-in-law, he said, Come, let me have intercourse with you. She replied, What will you pay me for letting me have intercourse with for letting you have intercourse with me? Excuse me, I'm just getting too ahead of myself there. Verse 17 says, He answered, I will send you a kid from the flock. Very well, she said, provided you leave a pledge until you send it. Judah asked, What pledge am I to give you? She answered, Your seal and cord, and the staff you carry. So he gave them to her, and he had intercourse with her, and she conceived by him. When she went away, she took off her shawl and put on her widow's garb again. That was the one night saying in the Bible between a father-in-law and his daughter. She tricked him, and he didn't even recognize his own daughter-in-law.
SPEAKER_00So that means some time had passed.
SPEAKER_01And the very thing he was gonna do with his young son to give her a child, here he is, she done conceived by him. Go on and read the rest of it on your own time and see how it goes. But that's one of the first one night stands that I've ever known of in the Bible. They don't point it out like that, but that's what it was. It was a one-night stand. And not only that, he was with a prostitute, he thought she was, and she was not. She was a grieving widow. So the one night standard, that's one. And let's go on down the Proverbs chapter 12, verse 18, because there is one, an adulterer that is the emotional, he might get into an emotional entanglement. And when that happens, most likely he has been deceptive with the person that he is having the relationship with. He's developing a bond with her and for him. And these people are seeing these as like, oh, I met someone, and they've fallen in love with him or her. So you get it, the emotions get all entangled. These are squirrels. The squirrel that does the one-night stand, and then the squirrel that embraces you into the emotional entanglement. He knows how to talk to you. Sweet, soft voice. She knows how to talk to you, sweet, soft voice, kind. Cooking. And they know how to make themselves readily available for you because it just seems like whenever you want to be near them, you want to go somewhere, you want to have time with them, they're always available. Okay. And Proverbs chapter 12. There I go again. I said I wasn't gonna do this anymore. Proverbs chapter 12, verse 18 says, the pratting of some men is like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise is healing. Meaning they'll say stuff to you. Like a smooth operator. He'll say sweet stuff, like tickle your brain. He'll say stuff to you to make you like, oh my gosh, he's so sweet. Always got compliments. Oh my goodness, show up with a bouquet of flowers, just fabulous. It's like this is the one I want. Actually, he belongs to someone else. That's why she fell for him. Now, let's move over to Proverbs 18, verse 14. It says a man's spirit sustains him in infirmity, but a broken spirit, who can bear? Once he finds out that she is in love with him, you've seen movies, you might even know of people where they lose it, they snap. Like, you mean to tell me calling up the wife, letting her know, all kinds of stuff, find out on the internet, posting on the thing, just beginning to bother with the wife when she finds out that he's married. Okay, she's emotionally attached to him because she's in love with him and whatnot. Sometimes it could be the other way around, where he has no other the last result, he has got to tell his wife that he has been in a relationship with someone and got her pregnant and everything, and she meant to do that probably once she found out, okay? And then it might have been an accident, I don't know. That's just me talking, but she's letting him know that she's pregnant. Now what? And he has to tell his wife, I got her pregnant. Can you imagine the emotional turmoil that brings for both women? And then if they know each other, the one that's married to him, instead of her being upset with him, she mad at the woman because she's like, You knew he was with me. So why did you do that with him? Good question. He knew he was with you, he married you. He makes sure you got a roof over your head, he makes sure you eat. You got children with him. You know what it's like to be in a living relationship with him. Okay, did he forget about you? Because he's the one that made the relationship with you, he's the one that committed to you. He was responsible for taking the most, oh my goodness, taking all the measures he could possibly have taken not to pull his pants down. He's sharing that all over the community. You don't want everyone knowing what he or she is like in the bedroom. That's your wife, that's your husband, and you fussing at her about him because she knew about him, maybe you shouldn't have been telling her what it's like to be with him. Because sometimes once you start sharing that, they want to try it out and see how it is. And the same with the guy keep some things private, but if you are in a relationship with a squirrel, a person that has a squirrel-like mentality, they'll move around like that. And they are just that's just something that they'll do until it's able to break that. Right, so Proverbs 18 verse 21 tells us death and life are in the power of the tongue. Those who make it a friend shall eat its fruit. So if you're telling him or her, I love you, I care about you, and all this kind of stuff, they're believing you, and they're feeling the same way about you. And some of them it it it just come becomes like psycho. You gotta be careful with that because people's emotions can really go in rears, it really can't. Sometimes I like to watch these crime shows, these documentaries. Where there was a documentary on the husband and the wife or the significant other, and it's faith-based. You know? I hope and pray that never happens. All right, now, sexual compulsion. The one night stand is something similar to that. However, the sexual compulsion can be where he and she they don't, they really don't want to be have a relationship with one another. They don't want to be entangled with that person, but they desire the sexual intimacy, it's like they're addicted to one another, so they want to do that with each other, and that's one where it doesn't matter. Sometimes it's all open. The husband or the wife, they already know the person that they're with, uh, they're making them aware. I'm not leaving my wife, I'm not leaving my husband, I ain't leaving my family. You know, this is what I desire. And sometimes this person that they are in this relationship with, they're kept. They take good care of that, they make sure all their needs are met, you know, financial, whatever it is, that they take care of all of that. That's something that is in that relationship, financial compulsion. Matthew chapter 5. Once again, let's hear what Jesus has to say in verses 27 and 28. You have heard that it was said, you shall not commit adultery. But I say to you, everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery in his heart. Now he goes on to say in verse 29, if your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. Forgive me. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body thrown into Gihana. I'm sorry for laughing, guys. But that squirrel is always checking things out. That attention span is a mess. He sees somebody come through. Oh my goodness. He his radar zones in on her, or her radar zooms in on him. But you heard what Jesus said. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body thrown into Gihana. I'm pretty sure he doesn't really want you to do that, snatching your eyeball out and whatnot because you're seeing this. But and I don't mean to make light of it. Yes, I do. Forgive me, but just think of it. When you are in these relationships with these squirrels, quit fooling yourself. Invite Christ into your heart and talk to him about it and let him know you would like to see changes in your relationship because prayer, like I said, equally yoked, including sex as well. So when you're praying and asking for a husband, oh, I want him to be fine, I want him to do this, that, and the other. Make sure whatever you desire, make certain that you both desire the same thing in the bedroom. Okay? Other than that, there's gonna be a problem. It really is. And if he doesn't have that kind of money that you want to spend, but you're able to make it, make sure he's not the type of man that has that male ego where I'm the breadwinner in here. Make sure you understand what's going on as far as that goes, because you're setting yourselves up for failure. And make sure that person wants to have kids. Because if they don't want to have children, also that's a failure. Just think about it, okay? And make sure you pray. Invite God into everything that you have, even the things that you think are uncomfortable. Let him know. Okay, what are a husband and wife allowed to do in their bedroom? That's private. All right. What's going on in their bedroom? That ain't none of your business. Let's go over here to 1 Corinthians chapter 7, verse 2. And it says, but because of cases of immorality, every man should have his own wife and every woman her own husband. Okay. Verse 1 says, now, in regard to the matters about which you wrote, it is a good thing for a man not to touch a woman. Because Paul didn't desire anything like that. He did not. Verse 3 says, A husband should fulfill his duty. Toward his wife, and likewise the wife toward her husband. A wife does not have authority over her own body, but rather her husband. And similarly, a husband does not have authority over his own body, but rather his wife. That doesn't mean rap the wife, raping the husband. If you guys he doesn't feel like being intimate with you, you don't feel like being intimate with him like that. You guys need to be able to talk about it. Not just like grab the covers and just wrap them around you. I said no. You know, learn how to handle whatever that situation is. I'm not no counselor, I don't even have a husband, but y'all might suggest a date night. Maybe two or three date nights out of the week. Okay. So it could be nice and healthy. All right. Now keep the church community out of your bedroom because that's between you and your husband, you and your wife, as well as your friends. Like I said, just my personal opinion. Seek outside counseling outside of the church. Okay. You pray and whatnot and ask God. If you want to put that prayer petition up there, I wouldn't be telling them what it is. Just ask me to continue to pray for the family. Pray for our marriage. Okay. But I wouldn't ask them to pray for our sex life. A lot of times, these some of these churches don't even want to talk about sex. And it's important. It really is in the relationship. It most certainly is. All right. And just remember, 1 Corinthians chapter 6, verse 19, once again tells us, do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own. So be cautious. You don't want to be committing adultery. You don't want to invite anyone inside your body except for who you are betrothed to, okay? Or you said I do. I don't know. Whatever it is, but don't have everybody touching on you any kind of way. All right, because this is for real. This isn't a game. Let's turn to Ephesians 5, verse 25. It says. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed himself over for her. To sanctify her, cleansing her by the bath of water with the word, that he might present to himself the church in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. So also husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one hates his own flesh, but rather nourishes and cherishes it, even as Christ does to church, because we are members of his body. Remember that. So if you find out that you're entangled up with a squirrel, remember, squirrels, I those are adulterers to me. And an adulterer, Exodus chapter 20, verse 14 tells us do not commit adultery. It does. So remember, say goodbye to the squirrel mentality. And let's do a recap on that. That's the inability to stay focused on the goal or task at hand when something enticing comes into view. Remember that. Stay blessed in Jesus. Lord, I ask in this in your mighty name, Lord Jesus. I ask God to continue to be with those who desire his will. And Father, those who are suffering in their marriages, in their relationships, their committed relationships to one another, I pray that you will heal whatever needs to be mended and fix it. Bring it together like you predestined it. Those who are ashamed to speak about what is going on in their sexual bedroom activity, I pray that you will remove that and allow them to speak with each other in a way that is kind, nurturing, and for them to always remember to invite you into their private, intimate relationship. They invite you into their financial aspects, their jobs, the way they make their money. They invite you into their parenting, their children, their outside relationships. They invite you into everything. I pray that you will make it, make them know it is not shameful or taboo for them to seek you during the times when they need you to redirect and guide them in the area of their sexual desire and their relationships and keep these families bonded together. In Jesus' name. Amen.
