How to literally regain control when you’re frustrated and things seem to be going wrong.

Hello and welcome back to the Beauty and Positivity Podcast. My name is Alyssa Skinner, and in today's episode, we are going to talk about redirecting your thoughts specifically in the moments of frustration or anger or any low moment you're experiencing. I'm going to give you my top two tips to help you find gratitude in those lower frequency moments. This is a little game that you can play. You can help yourself snap out of being irritable, being mad, angry, upset, frustrated, whatever it is, anything you didn't want to happen that you feel like is now happening. This tip is a simple sentence, an affirmation, if you will, the first one at least. And that sentence is actually this is good because find a reason why this is actually working out in your favor. The longer you do this, the more practice you have, and this will actually become your regular line of thought. You are going to shift your life because reality will have no other option than to shift in your favor because you this is your life and you are writing your movie. When I started looking at my life as a movie, and like I get to decide what's happening, that kind of shifted everything for me, and it really did become a fun game. So that's just a little addition to this episode is you can do that. So saying this is actually good because it helps your logical brain find reasons why this is good. It makes it work for it. But this also helps release the feeling of lying to yourself. A lot of affirmations in the beginning at least can make you feel like you're lying to yourself. We'll start with a new affirmation while we're in the emotion of frustration or anger, and sometimes just feels like a big fat lie, and it can intense intensify those emotions. Because of course you're frustrated, you feel the frustration, but this is good because it allows you to take more control. It allows you to start guiding your thoughts. You're taking control of your reality, you're making it shift into your favor, and you're deciding this is actually good. This is actually good that I got fired from my job because I wanted to leave anyways and I wasn't really happy. Maybe it's a sign I can finally actually start my YouTube channel or whatever it is, your passion. Actually, this is good that this breakup is happening because better now than five years later, and it would have been much harder. And maybe this is my chance to start doing things I love again that I stopped doing in that relationship. Actually, this is good I didn't get hired at that interview because they weren't gonna pay me what I wanted, anyways, and I feel like I would have been settling. Actually, this is good that that client no-showed me because honestly, I really just want to grab a nice coffee and binge watch my show, and maybe this is my day to do that. Obviously, these are silly little examples, but you get the point. You're shifting the focus into why it's in your favor. You're deciding to give this situation no other choice but to benefit you. You are the main character, this is your life, and honestly, what is the other option? Seriously, what is the other option? You just stay frustrated and irritated, and you're just gonna let it snowball into the rest of your day and let it ruin your whole day instead of the 10 minutes it barely deserved in the first place. You're just gonna let it snowball into your drive to work where someone then cuts you off and then you finally explode because everything's going wrong all morning, and the energy just keeps building, and you're just perpetuating miserable shit to happen to you all day. Like, seriously, what is the other option? You just have to decide everything is always working out in your favor, and just say to yourself, I'm a lucky girl, nothing is ever happening to me, it's always happening for me. I am the main character, this is my main, this is my story, and my energy has been decided and it's been declared. I mean, kind of be a brat about it. I feel like when I'm a little bratty about it, it helps me just demand it more, and I'm like, I don't care, this is the way it is, and it really helps. Okay, my second tip to dealing with frustrating situations. Ask yourself, who do I need to be for this situation to not bother me? This is such a good one. What kind of person would this situation not bother? Who could give a shit less? Who could care less? Who would who is this person where it would just roll off their back? What kind of person is she? And who do you need to be for this to not bother you? Step into that badass who's just calm, nothing can take her energy without her permission. She's been through worse, right? She's overcome adversity, absolutely overcome worse situations than this. And so this little thing can't get to her. It's simple. She's strong, she's calm, she's confident. I mean, whatever that person is to you, who do you have to be? This can even be done when you have to work with someone that you don't enjoy working with. I think everyone has had this experience, and so just ask yourself, who do I have to be for this to just be so beneath me? Like it's so not even worth my energy, it's so small. And be that person. Like who you're the person who it doesn't take your energy, you don't spill your energy on these small things anymore. This thing won't even matter in an hour, right? This is someone who knows everything is always working in their favor at all times. This is someone who lets things go because it is not their biggest priority in life, right? The this person's biggest priority is probably peace and happiness, and they have their own shit going on that's actually working out for them that they don't have any energy to give for these little things that don't make them feel good.
