this episode shares my take on how we affect our own health through manifestation, fears and placebo effect. This episode is strictly my opinion based on a feeling and my own personal life experience.
Good morning and welcome back to the Beauty and Positivity Podcast. My name is Alyssa Skinner. I became a six-figure entrepreneur in my first year of opening my business in a brand new state where I knew nobody. I moved across the country to reinvent myself, to see what it felt like to be out of my comfort zone, to leave everything I knew. And yes, I didn't leave my country, but I did go from California to Tennessee. So that's a pretty big culture shock for a San Diegan. And I came here for my husband to pursue his education. This was never meant to be a long-term destination for me. I think subconsciously I had decided that. I considered it to be, of course, but I do think in the end I will move back to San Diego to be with my family, to raise my kids on the beach where I was. And I've been studying the law of attraction for about a decade, and I've been mastering the practices and the exercises that created my dream life. I've been mastering and embodying the identity of the wealthy version of myself, of the successful version of myself. And I became this version of me where I was embodying the identity before I was the person, before any of my dream life was even true. I started vlogging my day when I had four followers. And I started talking to the camera as if thousands of people were watching me. I started posting videos of my work in the salon as if my schedule was booked out for months when I only had two clients that week. The law of attraction, learning manifestation, in fact, learning all 12 laws of the universe, helped me dive so deep within myself. It helped me literally create my dream life, my dream finances, my dream relationships, my dream morning routine, my schedule, the autonomy and freedom over myself and my life. All of it I achieved, and 2018 Alyssa thought this would never happen. If I could sit in a room with her, she would be like, shut the F up. What? So that could if you are just in step one, think of embod feel who you are today. Just feel that for a second. And like imagine telling yourself, girl, we did it. It's done. Like you fucking did it. You got me here. So I never thought I would even have a podcast or teach anything remotely around spirituality, around manifestation, around the law of attraction. I never had the urge to educate at all. In fact, I had an affirmation for many years in my life that I am not a good teacher. When I would try to explain something to someone, I would constantly apologize. Sorry, I'm not the best teacher. Like what? I heard myself say it like 30 times to where I finally thought, why do I keep affirming this to myself? I want to be someone who can articulate themselves. I want to be someone who can inspire or educate or help in general. I want to be the person who can explain exactly what I'm thinking and feeling. So I changed my identity. I literally started pretending to be the version of myself I wanted to be. And some people call it delusion, some people call it the placebo effect, some people call it manifestation. And so, with that being said, whatever you believe is true is true for you only and no one else. You cannot manifest for someone else, you cannot cause harm on someone else, not internally, not spiritually, you know, physically, sure, but let's not do that to anybody because you cannot manifest for someone else. If you wish harm on someone out loud and they receive that and they match your vibration, thinking you wish this harm on me, you jinxed it. I don't believe jinx is real. I believe in vibrational matches. Same with healing. You put your hand on someone and you have the intention of healing them, they match your vibration. They heal because they matched your vibration, they chose healing with you. You co-created that and it happened twice as fast. We all have control over our own vibration, we're just not completely aware of it, and we aren't deliberate with our energy all the time at least. So now that you understand, we can only manifest for ourselves if we want healing, we have to believe we are healing. I want to talk about believing something that's harmful for you because it's a very big topic right now. People are talking about seed oils and dyes and vaccines and sugar and gluten and dairy, etc. If you feel called to remove these things because they are unhealthy for you, absolutely do that. That will improve your health because you believe it will. That is your body speaking to you, that is your soul speaking to you, that's your intuition materializing in a feeling, in an emotion. But if someone else tells you that something is bad for you, you get to decide if that is true or not. These there are very specific scientific studies done for a reason, group A and group B. And there is a definitive reason why only one group is ever affected, in most studies, of course. One group usually remains completely unaffected. The reason being because only one group is aware of what's happening. The other group remains completely unaware and therefore completely unaffected. That is not a coincidence. They don't have something in their mind to think about, to focus on, to worry about, worry if it's gonna come true. The other group is aware. They are focused on it, they are wondering, they are worried, they are checking in to see if it's gonna happen because they were told it would happen. aka the placebo effect. It could be negative or positive, it doesn't matter. It's about the belief. There's a pattern here, and it has to do with what you believe, it has to do with what you expect, most importantly. What you expect manifests, what you assume manifests. I talk about this all the time in previous episodes. So if you grow up, or I'm sorry, if you end up in a group completely unaffected, the the group that remains unaffected and unaware, you are not expecting anything to come of it, nothing comes of it. And there's so much fear out there these days, so much fear-mongering. Don't do this, this will harm you, this will cause cancer, this will cause disease. Your disease is coming from the fact that you are not in ease and flow and peace and homeostasis. Let me tell you something because when I eat sugar, I like sugar. I love a donut, I love a cookie. I'm gonna eat my sugar sometimes. I don't go as far as to drink juices and drink Kool-Aid all day. I don't eat donuts for breakfast every day. Of course, I love whole foods, I enjoy whole foods, I feel good when I eat good food. However, if ice cream sounds delicious, I'm gonna eat the fucking ice cream because guess what? It makes me happy, and I visualize all my little cells giggling and being happy, like thanks for the sugar. That's just what I do, that's my relationship with myself. I speak to myself. You should try it. But because it makes me feel good and I'm visualizing that my body's feeling good, I remain healthy. I believe that. I am not thinking or feeling guilty or punishing myself constantly thinking, oh, why did I eat that? I shouldn't have eaten that. I'm not gonna punish myself a thousand times for something I did one time that day. Punishing yourself is much more harmful than eating the fucking ice cream, okay? That's what I believe. I have shared this before because it's not a secret. I did lose weight over the last couple years, and I didn't even know I lost weight. I didn't mean to. I truly had no idea. It was not something I had set out a goal for, it wasn't something I was even aware of. But one day I was watching an old video back, and I thought, wow, I'm like half of that girl now. What happened? So I started looking back on my journey and like, did how did this happen? It's very interesting. Is it just age? And so I'm 31, but you know, when you're 25, you do carry a little bit more body fat. I did for sure. So I'm like, I started loving myself. I started the fuck it diet. I used to work in plastic surgery, and I remember talking to one of the doctors and him saying, I'm doing the fuck it diet. And I'm like, tell me about that. So what it is, is it's basically like, I'm not punishing myself around food, I'm not overthinking food, I'm not gonna worry, stress, I'm not gonna track anything, I'm not gonna plan, prep, or limit or portion out. I am just going to intuitively eat. I will eat when I'm hungry, I will stop when I'm full, I will eat what sounds good, and I will listen to my intuition. The fuck it diet isn't, well, fuck it, let's just go to McDonald's every morning, that's the most convenient. That is not what it is. It's only surrounded around the stress and the overthinking around food. It is releasing that completely. And I did that subconsciously. And what do you know? The stress left my body. I stopped craving shitty food. Imagine that. I wonder what cortisol does to our body. I wonder if it makes us crave comfort food. I mean, come on. So suddenly I began eating cottage cheese, and I loved eating fruit throughout my day, you know, like bigger portions of it, um, vegetables. I started loving chicken salad, and I became obsessed with air frying the chicken with a different seasoning every night. I started eating fast food on a Friday or a Saturday because I didn't crave it anymore. It was something that was fun on the weekend. But I want to go to a steakhouse and get Brussels sprouts on the side. Sometimes I want a mac and cheese on the side. It doesn't matter. It is literally just honoring whatever I feel that day. And I will say, removing the stress removed the harm, and it removed the cravings around shitty food. So my point is, I teach this in my Enlightened Babe Academy. When you embody the identity first, and I teach you how to do this as well. It's not just like, oh, just think about it and it'll come true. I teach you step by step exactly how to do it because you have to embody the identity first, not make the decision first, not try to change first, and then become the identity. No. I did an um episode on this this week. Go back and listen to it. The identity does not come after the decision or after the choice. You are the identity first. You act as if, and everything else shifts right by itself. You do not have to shift anything. I did not try to lose 30 pounds, I only tried to find peace and acceptance and love in the mirror. And suddenly my body reflected that love. So whether you're thinking about food ingredients or medical prescriptions or procedures or treatments, or the conspiracies of the clouds in the sky, okay? It doesn't matter. If you have fear around that thing, around it affecting you, you your body will take on the vibration of disease. Disease. Disease. Because you are not in ease. And that will manifest into physical symptoms within the body. I am not a doctor, I have no qualifications to speak on health, I am simply a nutritionist, and that is it. I'm sharing based off of my feelings, my emotions, and what worked for me, what makes me happy. You should always consult with your own intuition. And if you feel the need for medical attention, please seek it. But there is a book I want to recommend before we end this. It is from Luise Hayes. You can get it on Amazon. It's in my Amazon storefront, it's in my books link. But there are many books from her you should read. One of them is You Can Heal Your Body. The second one is You Can Heal Your Life. They changed my life because it connected the brain and the body for me. It connected the body and the emotions for me. So let me know if you read it and if you love it as much as I did. I hope you're feeling inspired to love yourself today, to look for all the good, to stop looking for the bad, stop looking for the harm, stop worrying, stop stressing, and stop listening to other people. Your experience is yours, no one else's, no one else's experience will affect yours unless you match their vibration, unless you believe it will, unless you let it. That is my belief. I am sending you so much love and success. Bye.
