00:04:04.960 --> 00:04:08.000 Job lost everything in a period of nine months. 00:04:08.240 --> 00:04:12.479 I mean, his health, his family, his wealth, everything, his house. 00:04:12.879 --> 00:04:32.879 And but he makes this statement, and you can't just pluck this statement out of its setting without explaining it, because the what he said leaves a lot of room for interpretation. 00:04:33.360 --> 00:04:42.480 But he makes this statement because you gotta understand you're dealing with a man that's weary of life. 00:04:42.879 --> 00:04:43.439 All right. 00:04:43.600 --> 00:04:52.240 He's he's he's gone through more grief than most people in a matter of days than most people will experience in their entire life. 00:04:52.480 --> 00:04:58.160 And he he's just basically, when you read the book of Job, he gets to the place where he's like, I don't want to live no more. 00:04:58.319 --> 00:05:00.879 I'm just pretty much done with life, right? 00:05:01.439 --> 00:05:13.120 And he gets here and he's talking about the Lord, and he says, Notice, though he slay me, yet will I trust him. 00:05:13.920 --> 00:05:17.680 I will maintain my own ways before him. 00:05:18.639 --> 00:05:29.120 So he says, Though he slay me, now let's take time to unpack this, because remember, he thought God did this to him. 00:05:29.360 --> 00:05:29.680 Right? 00:05:29.920 --> 00:05:35.439 He had no indication, no idea of a devil, right, of the adversary. 00:05:35.920 --> 00:05:39.680 And so if it happened, then God had to do it. 00:05:39.839 --> 00:05:44.800 And that's why he told his wife, you know, the Lord is given and the Lord's taken away. 00:05:45.040 --> 00:05:48.319 Well, the Lord did give, but the Lord didn't take away. 00:05:48.560 --> 00:05:51.279 What I want you to focus in on is this. 00:05:51.680 --> 00:06:00.720 He said, even though, notice Job, even though I don't understand, even though I think God did all this, I'm still going to trust him. 00:06:01.439 --> 00:06:02.959 Now, why is this important? 00:06:03.199 --> 00:06:14.480 How many times have you seen somebody that was a Christian that said they were trusting God and something didn't go the way they thought it should have gone, and they quit serving God? 00:06:15.839 --> 00:06:17.680 They just threw it all away. 00:06:18.240 --> 00:06:18.560 Right? 00:06:18.720 --> 00:06:21.040 I know preachers that have done that. 00:06:21.279 --> 00:06:26.720 I I know a minister that was a good friend of mine and pastored a phenomenal church. 00:06:26.800 --> 00:06:30.240 It was the third fastest growing church in America, a good friend of mine. 00:06:30.560 --> 00:06:37.279 And uh uh he was uh in a process of standing, he said standing with his daughter. 00:06:37.439 --> 00:06:43.040 His daughter had uh gotten brain cancer, and now that's horrible. 00:06:43.199 --> 00:06:44.639 It's a horrible diagnosis. 00:06:44.879 --> 00:06:47.600 She died, she didn't get healed, she died. 00:06:47.839 --> 00:06:52.720 He quit everything, he threw the ministry away, quit everything, got mad at God. 00:06:52.879 --> 00:06:55.040 Well, God didn't bring the cancer. 00:06:56.000 --> 00:06:58.480 God was not the author of that cancer. 00:06:58.800 --> 00:07:05.680 If you trust God, then no matter what you're dealing with, you put God in his rightful place. 00:07:06.319 --> 00:07:14.480 God is my healer, God is my deliverer, God is my savior, God is my right provider, right? 00:07:14.639 --> 00:07:16.480 God's never the problem. 00:07:17.199 --> 00:07:23.120 Job, even though he thinks God is the issue, he says, still going to trust him. 00:07:24.000 --> 00:07:24.639 Right? 00:07:25.439 --> 00:07:39.519 Very often where healing is concerned, all the questions come, and the questions come, very often they're not just coming from you, they they come from the enemy, and they come to try to erode your trust in God. 00:07:40.000 --> 00:07:45.439 Well, if it was always God's will to heal, why am I not filling the blank? 00:07:45.600 --> 00:07:50.000 If it's always God's will to do this, then why is this not happening? 00:07:50.160 --> 00:07:52.639 That's coming to erode your trust. 00:07:53.120 --> 00:07:53.680 Right? 00:15:54.240 --> 00:15:56.159 And you'll have a religious trust. 00:15:56.320 --> 00:16:08.320 Well, even though he I I saw I saw a young man, and I don't watch a lot of social media, but I saw a young man, and when I say young man, I mean like eight years old. 00:16:08.559 --> 00:16:10.639 That had been diagnosed with cancer. 00:16:10.799 --> 00:16:14.720 And his dad had him sat down and it was like an interview format. 00:16:14.799 --> 00:16:18.879 And he said, he asked his son, he said, now what are you thankful for? 00:16:19.039 --> 00:16:23.600 And he said, I'm thankful that God thought I was strong enough to handle this cancer. 00:16:26.879 --> 00:16:29.279 Well, that's what his parents had taught him. 00:16:29.519 --> 00:16:36.000 And the dad said, Yeah, we're we're thankful that God thinks you're so strong that you can deal with this. 00:16:38.080 --> 00:16:41.519 So, so what was he taught to trust? 00:16:42.000 --> 00:16:44.320 Not that God will heal me. 00:16:46.399 --> 00:16:53.840 What he was believing was that God was using that to strengthen him, to give him a testimony. 00:16:54.080 --> 00:16:57.919 Well, then what happens if the young man dies at eight or nine years of age? 00:16:58.159 --> 00:17:00.000 What testimony do we have? 00:17:00.240 --> 00:17:04.720 That our good God gave cancer to an eight-year-old and killed him. 00:17:05.759 --> 00:17:08.000 Now, how is anybody gonna trust now? 00:18:11.599 --> 00:18:25.759 But if I know you, if I've seen you keep your word, if I've seen you do what you said you would do, if I've watched you over and over again, and in every situation you're the same, now I can trust you. 00:18:26.319 --> 00:18:35.759 And so religious trust is, well, we don't know what God might do, but we're just gonna trust him that he'll do what's right. 00:18:39.599 --> 00:18:44.720 But the word tells us what is right and what he will do. 00:18:45.200 --> 00:18:55.519 And so Bible trust is based on God and his word and what he said in his word. 00:18:56.000 --> 00:19:01.839 If I believe that by his stripes I'm healed, then I trust him to complete the process. 00:19:02.880 --> 00:19:08.400 We talked last week about uh Psalm 107, he sent his word and healed them. 00:19:08.559 --> 00:19:09.680 How do I know I'm healed?
