SPEAKER_022 Corinthians chapter 1. Verse 11. Says you also helping together by prayer for us. Helping together by prayer for us. That for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons, thanks may be given by many on our behalf. Notice he said that through the prayers of someone else. There was going to be a change effected. A breakthrough. A deliverance. It's God's deliverance. Verse 10 is talking about how God delivers. He's delivered us in the past. He's delivering us now.
SPEAKER_00And he will yet in the future deliver us as we need his help.
SPEAKER_02But this he says in verse 11 helps us to understand how that help of God. And you know that was the hand of God. Did God just do that? Or did something open the door for his power to flow? Is it just at God's whim? Whatever is seems good to him at the moment. Or is it that someone has positioned the power of God? Activated the power of God. There are so many things in our lives in nuestra vida that are easier when prayer is involved. When we not only personally know how to pray, and bring a prayer supply to our situation.
SPEAKER_00A church family who believe the same way.
SPEAKER_02Walk in the same light.
SPEAKER_00Live in the same power.
SPEAKER_02Exercise the same authority. And so not only can one put a thousand to flight. But two can get together. Join their faith together. And put ten thousand to flight. Seeing the effectiveness that God designed.
SPEAKER_00The Apostle Paul Pablo Testament inspired by the Holy Spirit.
SPEAKER_02In every word that he wrote depended on the prayers of other people. Recognized how effective his ministry was because of their praying. It's not the only time we see it in the New Testament. Can you search one for me from back there on your computer? Search strive together with me. Just that phrase. Technology's gonna work on our our behalf tonight. When you write down the wrong scripture note notes, you can always just bounce over there and search it. Strive together with me. 30. I was so I had a three in there. Romans 15, 30, not 13. I was in the right chapter. Praise God. Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake and for the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me. Strive together with me. The center column reference says uh laboring. When we see this word striving, we would think of a wrestling match. But in prayer, we're resisting, aren't we? Ephesians chapter six talks about face to face. It talks about the fact that we are against principalities. Against, and he uses it five times in one verse, against.
SPEAKER_00And we're not intimidated because we're well dressed.
SPEAKER_02We're dressed in the armor of God.
SPEAKER_00We stand against and we stand against victorious.
SPEAKER_02We are never trying to get victory.
SPEAKER_00We are the triumphant church.
SPEAKER_02Stripped him of his authority.
SPEAKER_00He has no authority over me.
SPEAKER_02If I don't yield it to him, if I don't give him place, he doesn't have one. You are the one who is authorized. You are the one who is already crowned the conquering one.
SPEAKER_00In Christ.
SPEAKER_02You've already won. The enemy has no power over you.
SPEAKER_00You can resist him.
SPEAKER_02You can exercise authority in Jesus' name. So we're not intimidated. But we need to take this authority. And stand against. And that's what Paul's referring to. And notice he says, I beseech you. The word beseech is a word that describes such a serious petition. That it's as if the petitioner is down on their knees. Looking that person, taking that person's hand. And saying, please listen to me. This is from my heart.
SPEAKER_00I beseech you.
SPEAKER_02What is he beseeching them about?
SPEAKER_00That they would strive together with him in prayers to God for him.
SPEAKER_02Paul. This great man of God. This great man of power and revelation. He knew it's not dependent upon my power. Or my revelation. It's the power of God. And God's power is made effective.
SPEAKER_00Brought on the scene in prayer.
SPEAKER_02Hallelujah. Colossians 4.
SPEAKER_00Colosenses 4.
SPEAKER_02Verse 12. We're still in the New Testament. This belongs to you. And it also works for you.
SPEAKER_00Verse 12 of Colossians 4.
SPEAKER_02Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you, always laboring or striving fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. How many of those believers in Colossae? And came to know how successful their Christian walk was. Because of the prayers of Epaphras. That because of his prayers. They made it through some things. They didn't know he was praying. Every time that he prayed.
SPEAKER_00If Paul hadn't have told them, they might have been clueless.
SPEAKER_02But I'm sure that when they reached glory. And it came, it came to their understanding. The bigger picture. Of what they made it through. How they got the victory. How they discovered the complete and perfect will of God. When they saw how many times this man had prayed for them. Because this should not be a singular event in the body of Christ timeline. This should be a daily occurrence. You and I praying for each other. Making supply available. One time I went into a grocery store. I was gonna hurry up. Because I thought they're about to close the store. I'm sure all these people want to go home. They're wanting to turn the lights out and lock the doors. But I walked in, and there were workers clocking in.
SPEAKER_00They were pulling carts out into the aisles.
SPEAKER_02And I recognized what they were doing. They were restocking. They were pulling out supply to put it out on the shelf. So that when all the morning shoppers came in in the next day. They had a full supply.
SPEAKER_00That's what your prayers do for other people.
SPEAKER_02When those other people come to a place where they need wisdom. They need strength. They don't have to go get it off the back stock shelves themselves. Somebody's already stocked the shelves. You can stock the shelves for your children. Especially those who aren't interested in the things of God.
SPEAKER_00There will come a time when they turn to him when we don't want empty shelves.
SPEAKER_02We want answers on the shelves. We want comfort on the shelves. How's it going to get there? We've been putting it there. We've been keeping a supply available. We don't want our pastor to have to stock his own shelves. When we can bring a prayer supply to his life. When people are going through difficult seasons in their life. In that prayer closet. Father, be with them today. Help them to know that you are their ever-present help in time of time. That heavy burden. There are things that we can recognize the enemy wants to do through that difficult situation. And we can step in in prayer. And we can pray against that deception. We can pray against that bitterness. And we can ask God to send laborers across their path. It says that this man was laboring fervently in prayer. Notice what he was praying for them. That they would stand complete in the will of God. Perfect.
SPEAKER_00Perfect in the will of God.
SPEAKER_02Hallelujah. What a thing you could pray for your fellow believer. For your family members. These are our scriptural prayers. Like an eternal screwdriver that always gets the job done. What if all of us got up every day and prayed that one for another? How much easier would some things be? Philippians chapter one.
SPEAKER_00Philippenses capitolo uno.
SPEAKER_02Let's look at verse 19. For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ. What was going to turn it? Their prayers. Their prayers turn things. Prayers change situations.
SPEAKER_00Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_02He said I know this is gonna turn. I know that victory will come.
SPEAKER_00Why? Because you're praying.
SPEAKER_02This is the confidence that we have.
SPEAKER_00If we ask anything, according to
SPEAKER_02To his will.
SPEAKER_00He hears us. And if he hears us, we know we have it. If he hears us, we know we have it. If he hears us, we know. We have it. Hallelujah. So if you're praying, things are changing. Lights are coming on. Powers made available. James chapter 5.
SPEAKER_02He said the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available. Stocking the shelves. Making sure that all of the outlets are connected. How is power made available? When God's people pray. He gave an example in James chapter 5, didn't he? He said, The prophet. He prayed. And the heavens were shut up for three and a half years. And it was because he was such a great man of God.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_02It says he was a man with like passions. It wasn't his office that he stood in. It wasn't the anointing that he had been anointed with for that office. It was the fact that he asked God. He invited God into the scene. He provided an invitation. It was the will of God. Because God told him he wanted it to happen. And he still prayed.
SPEAKER_00And when God came to him, you go tell Ahab that it's going to rain now.
SPEAKER_02And what did the man of God do?
SPEAKER_00He went and prayed.
SPEAKER_02Why? Because the prayer makes power available. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Glory to God.
SPEAKER_00Gloria Dios.
SPEAKER_02He said, I know this is going to turn. It's going to turn because you're praying. Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_00Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_02Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_00When you look at examples in the word of God, when God responded.
SPEAKER_02According to their faith. When in Acts chapter 4. They were threatened. Don't preach anymore. In that name. They went to their own company. And they lifted up their voices. And it says in verse 24. They lifted up their voice to God with one accord. So they're lifting up their voice. And they're not praying a repeated prayer necessarily. But it says they're praying in one accord. They're in agreement. That's what I referred to earlier. We believe the same. We know God. We know God is good. We know God's faithful. We know the authority we have in Jesus' name. So we can come together and we can agree.
SPEAKER_00And so they came back and they said we've been threatened.
SPEAKER_02Not to preach anymore. In that name of Jesus. So this is what we're going to ask God for. Give us boldness. And stretch forth your hand to heal. Okay, everybody got it? That's what we're going to pray. Now, three, two, one, go.
SPEAKER_00And they all lifted up their voice. And in their own words, in their own way.
SPEAKER_02But they're all in agreement for the same thing. And Jesus said wherever two or more shall agree is touching anything.
SPEAKER_00Whatever they ask.
SPEAKER_02So for us to be in agreement with Matthew 18. We both need to be asking. But he says that agreement. You know the Old Testament. I love the Old Testament examples of lone prayers. Daniel. Daniel. I love the example. Of how he prayed for the will of God that time. It was behind time. It was off track. This which is God's will should be in manifestation. But nobody had been praying for the will. So he lifted up his voice.
SPEAKER_00And God said the moment that you started praying. The answer came.
SPEAKER_02An angel showed up. And said, God heard you the moment you started praying. We have so many examples of singular people praying and producing power. Fire on the altar. And soaked up all the water. But the New Testament emphasizes the group coming together and praying. Glory to God. That's praying for one another. How many times in the New Testament are we told, pray ye one for another? That you may be healed. So in other words, you pray for somebody else. And you get a harvest back off your own faith. Glory to God.
SPEAKER_00If we'll discipline ourselves to pray for others.
SPEAKER_02Not just ourselves.
SPEAKER_00Not just our family.
SPEAKER_02But let's start praying outside of that four and no more. Let's pray for others. And watch how God brings that back. It says in verse 31. When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost. And they spoke the word of God with boldness. Immediately, God responded to their petition. And it continued in the next chapter. As God did signs and wonders. Exactly what they asked for. That's what they got. Glory to God.
SPEAKER_00The more we know, the more we'll pray.
SPEAKER_02The more we know belongs to us. The more we have confidence in this ability, the more we'll put it into practice. Hallelujah. Acts chapter 12. In Etchos capitulous, we see that Herod, King Herod, he killed James, the brother of John. A leader in the church.
SPEAKER_00One of the disciples lost his life.
SPEAKER_02And when this king saw that it pleased certain of the religious Jews.
SPEAKER_00He said, Well, let's do that again.
SPEAKER_02I got some points with that. We'll do that again. Go get Peter. And they brought Peter into prison and prepared to kill him. But there was a difference. That took place. Something different happened. It says that prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. Verse 5. The only difference we see between what happened to James and what happens to Peter is that the church didn't gather together and make prayer for James. Maybe it happened before they could think of that. Maybe they just thought, well, if God wants God got it. There's something we've got to understand. There is a religious deception. That the devil has propagated. And it's this. God is in control. If you can look at this world, and by that lie, there's a lot more light needed in your life. If God was in control, nothing would be acting the way they're acting. And people doing what they're doing. That's a lie. God delegated authority to man. Mankind submitted his authority to Satan. Satan is referred to in the Bible. 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verse 4. As the God of this world. Little G.
SPEAKER_00Con G minúscula.
SPEAKER_02He is the one who is overseeing. Things that are happening.
SPEAKER_00In this world system.
SPEAKER_02You and I are here. But our citizenship is from heaven. We are seated together at the right hand of the Father. But we're positioned here on the earth. Our seat refers to our authority. We are in Christ.
SPEAKER_00He's the head of the church.
SPEAKER_02We're the body. And he left us in charge. But we've got to exercise that authority. For whatever reason. The church didn't pray for James. But they got it together. In time to pray for Peter.
SPEAKER_00And supernatural. Intervention. The shelves were stocked for Peter.
SPEAKER_02He had angelic help.
SPEAKER_00Supernatural help.
SPEAKER_02God opened the gate. The gate opened all by itself, they said. That was God.
SPEAKER_00Hallelujah. What brought the angelic help? The church prayed.
SPEAKER_02I'm going to hit fast forward because I'm only on my first point and I had five. And my hour of power. So here's what I want us to do. I want us to ask two questions. What should I pray? Because you know, when you're learning how to pray. You learn how to pray for your needs. What should I pray for other people? Like brother Charles Caps used a phrase. He said, I prayed around the world. Lord bless all the missionaries in China. Bless all the missionaries in India. He said, I would just do these blanket prayers. They weren't really any any prayers that had a target.
SPEAKER_00If you shoot with a shotgun, it's got a scatterload.
SPEAKER_02No, with a a shotgun? You could get a scatterload. Yeah. But there's it's not gonna hit the target. We don't want to pray those prayers that just scatter out. We've got to learn how to pray on target.
SPEAKER_00So I'm gonna give you some notes.
SPEAKER_02Ephesians 1.
SPEAKER_00Ephesians 1.
SPEAKER_0217 through 20. That's a prayer. That the apostle Paul said the Holy Spirit, well, we know the Holy Spirit authored it. Because it's scripture. But Paul said, this is what I pray for you. You can pray this for yourself. Pray this for your spouse. Pray this for your whole church family. Let me tell you what benefits. If as your church family matures in the spirit, God can say things in the service. At a whole nother level. Do you remember in 1 Corinthians 3? He said, I couldn't talk to you. As as adults, I had to talk to you as children. There were things I wanted to tell you about the order of Melchizedek.
SPEAKER_00Don't you wish they'd been at a place to know?
SPEAKER_02We might have more insight. About the order of Melchizedek. Which is the order we're ordained in. The kings and priests. He said, I want I would tell you more. But you can't bear it. Jesus told his disciples. There's revelation you need. But you can't bear it. So the Holy Spirit's going to have to reveal to you. So as you pray for your church family. And they grow and mature. The whole church family receives at a greater capacity. All of us will benefit. Ephesians 3. 16 through 19. Philippians 1.
SPEAKER_00Philippenses 1.
SPEAKER_029 through 11. Colossians 1. 9 through 11. I've taught on these before. But I want you to write them down because I want you to take them out and pray them. And I'm going to show you an example. Because I pray these for you. These are the scriptures that you've been getting. In your life. Whether you know it or not. So let me read the Ephesians chapter 1. So you could say, Father. I pray for myself and for all the people in my church family. That you, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory would give unto us the spirit of wisdom and revelation. In the knowledge of you, the eyes of our understanding.
SPEAKER_00Be enlightened.
SPEAKER_02That we may know what's the hope of your calling. The riches of the glory of your inheritance in the saints. And what is the exceeding greatness of your power towards us who believe? And then you've released it not only for yourself, but for all of your brothers and sisters in the church family. So what should I pray? This is an example. Ephesians 1, Ephesians 3, Philippians 1, Colossians 1.
SPEAKER_00Take those prayers and use them like tools.
SPEAKER_02You know, when I wrote the book Intervention Prayers. If I had to put anything a screw, I could do it with the butter knife. But it took a longer time. And one time I'm trying to hang curtains. And I'm trying to, you know, put the curtain hanger thing up there. And my husband walked in. With this look on his face.
SPEAKER_00What are you doing? And I got my butter knife. And I'm trying to screw the screwing.
SPEAKER_02Stop. And he went to the toolbox.
SPEAKER_00And he got a drill.
SPEAKER_02And in a matter of moments, he had done what was taking me a lot of work. You need your tools. If you're praying without the word, you're missing your moment. Take God's word in your prayer closet. You pray the word, or in lap. Oh my goodness. Question number two. Who should I pray for? Well, we know that the Bible tells us to pray for our leaders. First Timothy chapter two. I'm not going to read it all. But he says in verses one through four. That if we'll pray for those who are in authority, we will lead a quiet and peaceable life. That doesn't just mean the people who are currently in authority. Asking God to raise up people who will honor his word in the laws that are being made. Stir up people who will honor you. Who will make laws that honor you. That's who I want in the governor's office. That's who I want in the president's office. I want the laws in my state to honor God. I want people in leadership who are going to honor the nation of Israel.
SPEAKER_00If we don't ask for that, we're not stuck in the shelf.
SPEAKER_02So there are prayers that we are responsible to pray. The cries of the righteous.
SPEAKER_00That's what I'm talking about. And so I'm there praying with Brother Hagen.
SPEAKER_02And he's praying. And I'm listening. And I and you can, he talked about this. But you'll hear him pray it too. He began to pray for all the fivefold ministry offices. That all the people who are called to stand in the fivefold ministry. That they would develop in their potential in that office. That's not automatic.
SPEAKER_00Just because someone's called to pastor past doesn't mean they ever develop in that office. But when they do, what a difference.
SPEAKER_02They can say the same thing. As someone else. But it lands with power. Because they're speaking out of that supernaturally equipped office. When Pastor Calwell says something. He has 35 plus years of pastoring more than that in ministry. He developed in that office. I can say the same thing. And it has some effect. But when it comes from his depth, it lands different.
SPEAKER_00What if we were praying for every prophetist?
SPEAKER_02What if every evangelist was operating at 100% potential of their office?
SPEAKER_00Hey! Hey!
SPEAKER_02That's power! What if every prophet? Every pastor, every teacher, was operating at the full potential of the office that was available to them. Brother Hagen prayed that. It was something that he prayed often. Praise God. So we need to pray not only for government leaders. But pray for those who are leading in the body of Christ. That was an hour of power plus ten.
unknownPlease stand up.
