THE HOTTEST PODCAST ON THE PLANET
Boy, I just I was listening on my podcast, uh, What You Thought, and um niggas said that the nigga Trump said, Open up the straight, you crazy bastards. Allahu Akbar. That nigga is wild, man. Yeah, he said He didn't say Allah Hu Akba, but he said uh what? Uh guy or Allah.
SPEAKER_03Allah, I forgot what he said. Praise to Allah. That's something he said.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, praise to the Allah. He just said it in English.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he's he he, I'm telling you, man, like he be wildin', bro. Not I don't know. Yeah, he does. I I I don't I don't um I I say this all the time, and I and um and I try to be cool because I don't like getting into politics as much because when you get into politics, it's almost like religion. And it's just like when people support something that goes against humanity, it makes me question them as a person. And that's why I never really ask family members who they voted for, because I because then I look at them sideways. Whether whether that's whether that's um right or not, that's just on me. But I admit to that, right? Like if you vote for Trump, I'm gonna look at you sideways. Because you may see me as your homeboy or your cousin or whatever, but like how you feel about people that are not your homeboy or cousin, and I and I have a problem with that. So people who vote for Trump, bro, when he does things like that, and and he be saying he's gonna wipe stuff off the map, and then when he be talking about Iran, like bruh, man.
SPEAKER_02I think it's I think it's a lot that goes with it. I think it's like um like not being funny or nothing, you know what I'm saying? But I think it's just like having your fucking your your favorite rapper or favorite artist or something like that, you know, like I can be a person that and I'm not like defending him or anything, because you know, I'm definitely anti-Trump. I don't I'm anti-government, period, which is, you know, you already know this. But um, you know, I'm I'm I look at it like, first off, I look at it like it's it's teams, right? It's blue team versus red team. You know what I mean? And there's always gonna be a divide in the two. I think when you get into situations like, say, if it's like, well, I like Jay-Z or Rockefeller more than I like DMX uh Rough Riders, then when you look into the things that, you know, maybe DMX DMX says or he does or his his uh his motions, you may be like, I don't I don't align with that, I align with Jay-Z more, and then it's like, well, you know, this nigga stabs a nigga, or you know, he talks about skeeting in a baby seat. Now it's it's vast difference from um just being a um a promoter of um that nigga, yo, that nigga barks like that just 24-7.
SPEAKER_03Bro, he's about to go in a room in a minute, so it's I'm I'm just I thought he was in the room.
SPEAKER_02I was about to say, like, he I never heard him not bark. Like he always just barks throughout the day.
SPEAKER_03So like he does, bro. It's so like, and then because there's probably someone in the hallway, or maybe he heard someone get off the elevator, and it's just non-stop, bro. Like when he be in a room, it's just like he's fine. But when he's out here in the living room, any little sound, it's so annoying, bro. Like, you have no idea. I'm so over this dog. But guys.
SPEAKER_02I was about to say, I don't even get like what is it, you know, it is what it is. I I because like it's like he's an emotional companion, but then at the same time, that nigga is the emotional one. So I don't get how there's any Who's the emotional companion? Who's the emotional companion for him? Hey, for me. Well, one of y'all, because obviously y'all keep a dog that bites people and barks all day. So he serves no purpose. He's more of a nuisance than he is a well um a need. You get what I mean? Look, get rid of the defendant. Hold on.
SPEAKER_03Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Hold on. He's very annoying. I'm not even disputed. That was actually Talia's dog. Talia left and the dog stayed here, which I have a which I have another problem with, but that's something in itself. You can't just get rid of a dog. You know what I'm saying? Who's gonna take the nigga? I just gotta wait him his ass out till he dies, unfortunately, right?
SPEAKER_02No, you literally can give them to places, but I I give you.
SPEAKER_03Nah, yeah, I'm not gonna do that.
SPEAKER_02And then, I mean, you have options, you just don't want to take it.
SPEAKER_03And then the other thing is it's like like half of the time Jayla's here by herself, right? So um when you live in an apartment building like that, he's actually a plus, meaning the ring camera on top of someone coming to the hallway. At least we can hear it. It's just non-stop. I think that's more of my issue, right? It's not like Benji, where he's an alert dog. Benji is an alert dog. I'm good with Benji's quite you don't even hear Benji bar. But York is little dogs, little dogs, man. Uh never again. Never again, bro. Never again. No, I get it. Never again, bro. Like little dogs, I can't do it. And I'll be trying to take him out. He be acting like a fool. Like, I'm not. I'm like, you just you're gonna die in solitude, brother.
SPEAKER_02That's that's that's my point. Like, that's the point that makes it, you know, like, but you know, it is what it is.
SPEAKER_03Nah, I mean, I can't let he's been here, he's been here that long. Like the dog is 12 now. Like, I can't, it's too late. I've always said when Talia left, she should have taken him. And I've always been on the side of if he was a bigger dog, we would have been got rid of him. But because he's little, people put up with his bullshit. I've always said that. I've always I've always been clear on that. I'm not the biggest little dog fan, so but it's I don't live by myself. If I live by myself, yeah. But I live before other people, so uh you know can't do nothing about that. Now, if I had a house, I wouldn't care. I'd be like, let that nigga go outside. You know what I mean? No, I get it. But um Yeah, man. But anyway, so go ahead. Back back to the the politics of it all.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I mean, I just you know, it's just two sides. People took pick two sides. I just think both sides are working with each other at the end, and at the end of the day, one one side is you know more more abrasive than the other. So it's like sometimes people lean to the other side and you know, uh and I don't agree. I don't agree with nothing what what uh what he does, what he says, or how he moves at all, any way, shape, or form. I just feel like a lot of times when people um like for like say if you're a black guy and you choose the side of um you choose the side of Trump, I think people a lot of the people that choose the side of Trump, nine times out of ten, they're choosing a side of Trump because they have an attachment to capitalism or money. I don't you know, and then what it's like when it's like capitalism and money, then they put things by the wayside because it's like, eh, yeah, I'm not really gonna stress out. Well, I mean that's that's but that's but black people don't use the race, you get I'm saying so. When it's black people that are voting for Trump, or it's black people that are going for Trump, or they're um not opposed to Trump, the only reason why they're not opposed to Trump is because of the financial part. You get what I'm saying? Like where it's like, oh, well, you know, because you know, they'll bring up whatever bullshit stat or whatever one-sided stat that's like, well, you know, this thing changed recently and when Obama was around, it wasn't, you get what I'm saying? And it's gonna be that situation. And for them, it's not gonna be a black or a white thing, it's gonna be a green thing. You get what I'm saying? And I think that's the problem.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and and this is when we get back into the whole cultural toxicity thing. There's people who didn't vote for Kamala because she put people in jail for smoking weed. Like, what? Like, yo, I swear.
SPEAKER_02And I get that, I get that as well. You know what I'm saying? It's just one of those situations where, like I said, you you're at the yo, bro, at the end of the day, politics is picking your poison. That is it. That's how I feel personally. You get what I'm saying? Of course. And if that's the case, then why are we even like you get what I'm saying? Like, it makes no sense. Because in the literal sense of the term, if I was to say, here, you could take this poison or this poison. I'm positive, conscious minds would say, I just don't want to take a poison at all. But because we're we're put into a situation where it's like back against the wall, you gotta choose, you know, you gotta vote because people died for this, or you know what I'm saying? Whatever fucking bullshit it is, it's like you're still picking a poison. So are you literally about to tell me, yeah, I'm gonna take this poison because my I have people that die in over 400 years and this no, I'm gonna just be like, no, nigga. Unfortunately, they died. God bless them, rest up, but I'm not drinking either one of those. I'm walking over here, and then when I do that, or someone does that, it's like, how could you? And then and then both sides attack you. It'll be it'll be a re it'll be a black Republican and it'll be a black Democrat, and they'll be arguing over whatever they're arguing over. Oh, you should have voted for Trump. Oh, you should have voted for Kamala, oh, you should blah, blah, blah, and this right, this. And then when the one guy comes in, it's like, what are y'all talking about? Oh, we're talking about politics. Yeah, because I voted for Kamala. I voted for Trump. Who did you vote for? And then I'm like, nah, I didn't vote for anybody. They both gonna jump me. Like, what do you mean you didn't vote for anybody? See, that's what I'm talking about. That's the reason why we lost. Then the other side can be like, that's the reason why we lost. It's like, what are y'all talking about, bro? Like, nigga, the reason why y'all lost is because of Electoral College. Don't blame that shit on me.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03But fuck fuck politics, long story short.
SPEAKER_00I got you.
SPEAKER_03What else is happening, man?
SPEAKER_02Nothing, man. Um, this nigga Aries Spears, that's about it. That was random. Um, you know, the uh Al Pacino debate and stuff like that. I don't know why he he's so um that's like another that's why I was like, I'm not gonna go, I wasn't gonna go back and forth with him because I'm not gonna go back and forth for him over who's I'm not like long story short, I'm not gonna go back and forth for him over two black guys arguing over a white man and who's better, right? Because I feel like uh I've done way more posts about the Denzel thing, and I know that those posts have gotten more views, but for him to inbox me off of a off of a small, you know, 30-second video about. And that's what I'm saying. Like, I don't get it, and then he was like, he put up videos like Serpico and all this stuff, and I'm like, bro, okay. Like, I'm not saying like he hasn't. That's just like Denzel. That's why I think like when people when I say about Denzel, like, oh, he doesn't have range, people look at it like it's so blasphemous, and it's like, well, he got nothing but hit. I can go through his IMBD right now. I'm not disagreeing with you. Every single one of the movies, if it'd be movies that I see that Denzel have, they'll be like, yo, I forgot, yo, I'll I want to watch that tonight. Like John Q or fucking like uh remember the Titans, nigga, the great debaters, like it's mad movies, and I'm like, hell yeah, that nigga, like when we talk about level of acting and just being nice, bro, I'm not saying he's not nice, but when we're talking about, you know, the range, and I always just give Samuel L. Jackson, it's like, okay, that's where it's at. Like, I why are y'all looking at me like I'm wrong? You get what I mean? And then when I say something like Al Pacino, and then I bring up Scarface, you can ask any fucking Cuban. They will probably be like, Oh, yeah, I love that movie because it represented Cuba and what we went through, so they there's an emotional attachment behind it. But when you ask them specifically, like, was that accent? They're like, nigga, that accent was terrible. You get what I'm saying? So it's like, what are we talking about? That's that's all I'm fucking saying, is that he has a terrible accent, and a lot of movies he just plays Al Pacino in different roles. That's all right. Right.
SPEAKER_03No, I got you.
SPEAKER_02I got you, bro. You know what I mean? So besides that, you know what I mean? The pod is moving. We got I gotta start, I gotta get the RSS file so I can start getting us um on um getting us on Spotify and everything else. I got the the uh I already got the stand store hooked up, so you know what I'm saying, motherfuckers trying to get the development of, you know, like if you really wanna be able to take your storytelling, your, you know, the whole bundle content, like I got it for $27.99 right now. You know what I'm saying? So it's right in the stand store, but I don't promote it enough. You get what I'm saying? So the fact that I don't promote it enough, you know, that's just a part of it. I just have to every day, like I can't necessarily post it on a page. I'm gonna start putting it on my story because each one of my pages, they've been growing. Like the Black History one, that shit is up to like 8,000 right now. My good news one is up to like 16, or it's probably 17,000 now. We about to hit like 6,000 as far as our podcast. You know what I'm saying? So this is a this is what like almost 30,000, 30,000 followers, you get what I mean? Across across three different platforms, where it's like I have to utilize those 30,000 eyes every day to show them, which I which I was thinking about doing. Um I got this uh this one this one book that's uh um how to start like a trucking company and stuff like that, which a lot of black people are really invested in, you know what I'm saying? So having that, you know, how to start a trucking company for 1999 with the link in the bio right now, you know, check it out. You get what I'm saying? Um but then uh with the movie to I gotta run down the movie real quick. So the so the movie yesterday, it was called uh Damn. Mild Mild and Kicks, I wanna say it was. I gotta double check to see what the hell kicks. Oh wait, I gotta look right here. Mild and kicks. Yeah, but um Mild and Yeah, Mild and Kicks. Alright, yeah, so there you go. So it's Mile Mild and Kicks. It's basically Mild and Kicks follows this girl, Gracie, who's 20 something years old. She's a movie critic. She moves to Montreal in 2011 to write a book about Alanis Moore set, Jagged Little Pill, but instead she gets swept into a city's indie rock scene and becomes a band's publicist and navigating through a whole bunch of basically bullshit. So this this it's a it's it's a coming of age, it's a rom-com. You know, it offers like little funny performances and stuff like that. The main girl who is in it is uh Barbie Frieri. I'm about to say you do that. Yo, you do yo, you always make me feel like you fucking shutting me up, bro. You're always like, mm-hmm. If you do that with your wife when you talk no, if you do that when your wife argues, I know she probably be pissed. Like, nigga, you're not listening to me.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so I'm I'm not gonna say nothing. I'm not sure. I think it's because I got my headphones on.
SPEAKER_03Oh, no, no, no, you go, you go, bro.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. So no, so it's um so did you watch um we could do more back and forth. Did you watch uh what? Damn, what the fuck is it? Uh Euphoria. You ever watch Euphoria? Uh yeah, I watched it last night. Oh, so you did? So you watched it recently. You watched it, so it's it is it the new season?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the new season came out yesterday.
SPEAKER_02Oh, see, okay, so we can talk about that next. That's a perfect segue. So let me know about that. So the girl, I don't, is she still in it? Or you do you remember like the first um all in it? Oh, so the so the big girl, she's back. The the girl that was doing OnlyFans?
SPEAKER_03She's supposed to be in there, but uh, she wasn't on last night's episode.
SPEAKER_02Okay, because she's the main star of this. You get what I'm saying? So that's that's all I'm trying to do in a segue. So it's it's uh Barbie Fieria, Jay Bruce, Jay Baruchel, uh Devin Bostik, Juliet Gareppe, Stanley Simons, and then Isaiah Littonin, whoever these people are, right? But the main girl, she's basically like she goes to um Montreal because she's trying to be like a movie critic. And she it's it's um a music, like an indie music critic. And you know, she's writing while she's in the crowd and stuff like that, and it's one guy picks her up and he's like, yo, you know, you should write about our band. But she's there to be writing about Alanis Morissette. So what happens is she gets caught up in just being googly-eyed, right, over this main band guy, and then when she's googly-eyed over him, it turns into him just being a piece of shit, and then her not paying her rent and going through a whole bunch of stuff that she just basically is stressing. But she's in an environment where everybody speaks French and she can't necessarily navigate like how she should. So between uh being in a French environment and just chasing a guy who she doesn't necessarily have to be with, she basically just gets done dirty. And the the um the main lead singer of the band, he's he's the piece of shit. The girl literally tells him, like, yeah, he's the he's the worst piece of shit in Montreal, but then she still fucks with this nigga, right? Now it's another dude that's on the side who's like, you know, we have a little connection, everything is good. And then she ends up um basically finding out that the guy that she wanted to be with, he's such a piece of shit. But then it's this guy right here that's standing for you. He's waiting for you. He's he's doing everything in his power to try to make you know, like, hey, baby, I'm here for you. You get what I'm saying? And so when she dubbed the dude, she she ended up fucking with him, but then you know, how do you get that little goobie lag while y'all staring at each other and y'all about to kiss? This nigga fucking tell her straight up, I got mouth herpes, bro. So she's like, What? And then it like, bro, the movie, I sent you the what you call the movie. Literally ends with fucking her staring at this nigga, and then them like sloppy kissing with the and he was he was breaking out at the time, like literally, like bumps bubbling on his lips. Bro, that's what I said. I'm like, yo, what the fuck? I text the girl back. I'm like, yo, I you know what I mean. And she was good, it was a good movie. It definitely makes me feel like I'm a dad and I want to keep my daughters, you know what I mean, away from niggas like that. But yo, come on. Like, you know what I'm saying? I'm a 40-year-old dude. That wasn't the movie for me. But she said she said something else. And um, I I think the other thing is like some movie with Charlie XCX, and you know, we we gonna we get a lot of independent films right now, but right um the last movie that I watched, two two movies that I watched that was good was um Fight or Flight, which you recommended, which was you know, it was it wasn't top-notch, but it was definitely like action packed, right?
SPEAKER_03Right, not supposed to be top notch, but yes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and Sin Help. Synth Help was excellent. I thought Sin Help was a great fucking movie. I love the whole back and forth. My man um was Daniel O'Brien or whatever. I think he's he's he's a great actor. I I don't want to say S tier, A tier. I give him like a B plus because I've seen him go and go from maze runner to being a piece of shit like in that movie. But then I've also seen him in other movies where you know he was had a little bit of comedy and stuff like that with rom com.
SPEAKER_03So he's a good one. He was definitely a dick in Send Help.
SPEAKER_02Definitely, yo, a pure, pure dick.
SPEAKER_03Like, yeah. I mean, she was a little off too. I mean, but he he did not make it any better, like the whole tuna fish thing. Um it was just yeah, that was funny. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He he he yeah, so I saw both Sin Help and what was the one you said before?
SPEAKER_02Um uh Sin Help and Fight or Flight.
SPEAKER_03Fight or flight, yes, yes. Um, and fight or flight I definitely enjoy because I went in not expecting anything from Fight or Flight because I never even heard of it. It just popped up on my feed, and I was like, Josh Hardman. And I was like, whatever. And I put it on, and as it was going, I was like, this movie is very uh entertaining, very enjoyable, um um, nice um comedic breaks, right? Nothing too over the top, nice subtle jokes, action scenes were good. Um, yeah, and you know, I I definitely enjoyed it. So um absolutely. Now I I gotta see the movies or the stuff that they send. I can't get into that um thing, but listen, once the movies come out and you give me a list of all the movies. I'll just watch them on Prime because I'm sure those movies that come out on Prime that they send, some of them are not of the 1999 variety. Some of them are probably like $5.99 or $8.99. And that's easy for me. Like that's that's I'd rather spend that than go to the movies and spend fifty, sixty dollars. So definitely.
SPEAKER_02No, definitely. That's that's well um send help was like twenty twenty something.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Oh, you you ordered that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I had to. No, actually, you know what? I didn't. Uh my boy told me that he was gonna order it. He was like, it's 24, but um Bug was here and she had uh some like something on your phone. You know what I'm saying? You know what, you know, you know what? So this is uh we're gonna talk about this movie because I just was looking at it.
SPEAKER_03Um the um now remember what I told you about earlier. Remember what I told you about earlier when we talked about yesterday about company, you be careful, you stick to your guns, but go ahead. Oh, yeah, of course.
SPEAKER_02But you know, the good good.
SPEAKER_03That's how it starts. That's how it starts. Nigga, I already know. That's how it always starts.
SPEAKER_02That's that's a whole different subject. Yeah, I know, yeah, I know. But uh good day, let me see.
SPEAKER_03That's that's a non that's a non-pod conversation.
SPEAKER_02Of course. That's why I'm skipping over it. You know what I'm saying? I'm not about to you know what I'm saying? I'm not about to be like you, nigga. Fuck out of here.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, please.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's all I ain't about to get caught up. No, I ain't even posting this shit.
SPEAKER_03I cannot, I cannot, um, what's the word? Because we talked about this before. I cannot control what people think what you and I say. And it had and it may not have no reference. Definitely. You know what I'm saying? Because we could talk about people's cooking and then people see it and be like, Well, you got a problem with my mac and cheese, and you'd be like, I didn't even mention mac and cheese. But go ahead.
SPEAKER_02And that's that's the and that's the whole point of why I was saying, like, I completely get what you're saying. Like, I just, you know, it's just one of those situations.
SPEAKER_03You know, I know.
SPEAKER_02But what was you gonna say? Good luck, have fun, don't die. That movie was fucking terrible. I didn't even know that, bro. I niggas had the best reviews about it. Like, everybody was talking about it to the point where I'm like, yo, I have to see it. I'm talking about like I looked it up in the movie theaters. I was like, damn, it's only playing in Auburn. I'm like, yo, I'm ready to drive to Auburn to see it. Cause it's like it got yo, bro, it got put on the list of movies to be like the best movie. So I'm like, I gotta see it, I gotta see it. So then I I think I watched it, I think Bug had it on their phone too. And like I watched, I watched it after I watched Sin Hell. And I'm like, bro, this shit is just dumb, bro. Like, don't get me wrong. Like, like, this is another part of where I'm saying, like, good actors bunched together in a movie, so then you like, it has to be good. And then when you watch it, it's like, bro, the nigga, and don't get me wrong, and it's funny, it's more of a comedy than anything. You know what I'm saying? It's like he he gets to a um uh restaurant, obviously, and when he gets to the restaurant, he's trying to tell the people, like, look, I've been through this day a million times. I need to let y'all know what's going on. And he knows it's a little funny parts where he's like, shut the fuck up, Bob. I'm not talking to you. You know, little dumb shit like that. We like, it's hilarious. But then it goes into like um the side story of like uh like my man Michael Pinha. He's a not he's a great actor. Uh I get I give him maybe an A plus, because that Spanish nigga, he be playing in a lot of roles. But you know what I'm saying? So he um he's a great actor, bro. You don't think so? Michael Pinha? I've seen him so the reason why I say great is because of range, bro. When you can do a movie like Ant-Man, right, and you look like you goddamn damn near slow. Like he was hilarious in Ant-Man. You would think he's really off his rocker. But then he could go and do a sinister role where you like kind of like, I don't know what the fuck is up with him. It was um, what's the shit? The uh Is it Pierre?
SPEAKER_03He was also in the thing with Jay Gyllenhaal, end of watch. I like I know who he is. Like, I don't know. I get it. Great is great, is a bit much, but I don't know. I don't think it's a bit much. Why I don't why do you think it's a bit much? I I'm just I because great is so his this is the same thing when we talk about um when people talk about Hall of Fame athletes, right? And this is and I don't yeah, I don't want to say this manual.
SPEAKER_02This is a worse analogy, but go ahead.
SPEAKER_03No, I'm not bringing it up. I'm I'm not trying, I'm trying to explain it in a sense that when I say great, I'm not trying to throw that around loosely, right? I Michael Pena has range, and I'm with you on that. But I don't see him as a great actor. I think he's a very good actor, and he has range, but when I say great, I can't say that he belongs on the Mount Rushmore of great actors. That's just me for me. For you, yes, because you base your stuff on range. That like your acting powers, power system, however you say it, is based on range. If you can play character A and play at character Z at the top of the list, then you are a great actor. And just because you could play character A and just because you could play character Z doesn't always make you be a great actor. Now that you can provide variety and you may be good at it, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're a great actor. That's all I'm saying. And I can't say that he's great. You can say he's great, but I'm not gonna take that away from you. I just don't see him as being great. That's all.
SPEAKER_02And that's fine. So this is this is where we come into the play of one the race card, where I feel like there's a lot of I'm not even talking about race. No, no, I'm no, I'm just saying, no, I'm not saying you're talking about race. I feel that there it's a diminished, it's a diminished because when you look at how many how many Spanish actors are out there that could pull off this many roles? Now, let's be real. So when you when when we look at Michael B. Jordan and you look at fucking Samuel or um Denzel and you use the excuse of them being like, oh, well, maybe just they don't get that role because it's not for a black guy, or there's not a there's not a black Willy Walker. So that's why, all right, cool, whatever. But what I'm saying is, is I guarantee you, my nigga, if you was to make a fucking uh a Spanish Willy Juca or some shit like that, that nigga will pull that shit the fuck off, bro. And it's just because of the simple fact, bro, his yo, his range, like, and I get it, you don't have to agree with me with being great, but when I'm saying great, I will always put people as great actors. If I can see you in like there's a difference, like you say, oh, um, you know, you could play character A and you could play character Z. It's different from playing character A and playing character Z than fucking pulling both of those roles off. And pulling those roles off so much that you'll be like, oh shit, I forgot that was him. He killed that shit. And it's mad roles. Like, I like I'm I'm gonna have to go through his, you know what I'm saying, IBD. But this this is just the fact of what I'm saying when I when I feel like now when we talk, I got it up now.
SPEAKER_03I got to go.
SPEAKER_02So there's there's a there's a level of, I'm not gonna say hatred, but there's a level of, like, I'm gonna give you an example. Do you think Keanu Reeves is a great actor?
SPEAKER_03No, I don't.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Because I was about to say, if that that's one nigga that you was gonna be like, yes, he's my nigga.
SPEAKER_03This is like there's damn my my greatness and your greatness are are judged differently. That's that's the only reason why. But I don't think you're gonna be.
SPEAKER_02So what do you what do you level your greatness at? Like if you're acting, I'm talking about you kidding not like you've had a whole bunch of good roles. Certain niggas get good roles. That's bullshit. I got you.
SPEAKER_03I got you. Okay, that's fine. So what would you rate? What is your I I I I can take your scale and apply that so my greatness is taking your metrics of playing tons of roles, and then I apply that to my standards of A, were you excellent at it, and was the movie good, right? Or or was the movie somewhat half-decent. Now, I don't rate the movie being good or not as the end or be all, but I like to I like to remember you in that, right? So I think that Michael Pena, and I hate to stay on, but like and I and I pulled up his thing, tons of roles all over the place, right? That shows that he has skills to do it. But at the same time, I also feel like could someone else have played that role, possibly, right? Um, I thought he was excellent in one of my favorite, favorite movies of all time is um Fury, right? I thought he was excellent in Fury. Very good movie for me.
SPEAKER_02I didn't mean to cut you off, but that's other movies. I like that movie. And I get so again, and I'm with you. I'm with you. So this is what this is why I'm trying to say, right? When let's let's take it out workout terms, right?
SPEAKER_03Sure.
SPEAKER_02You can you can look at somebody and be like, oh, that nigga ain't that strong, or oh, that nigga doesn't do this, he doesn't do whatever. Sure. But if you see that nigga in the gym with C T Fletcher and he's not giving up, and he he's giving the same amount of work as him, the same greatness that you gotta give C.T. Fletcher is the same you gotta give him. Now, just because he doesn't have as many fucking YouTube channels and he doesn't have as many people that are motivated, and they're like, I want to work out like Michael Pina. I get it. You get what I'm saying? Now, at the same time, I I can't always um I can't, I'll give it to you. Like, like, have you seen the if there's one white dude that's a comedian that well, I think his name like Mike Matt Rife or something like that, Matt Rafe. And he was just in the gym with with unking him. You get what I'm saying? I saw it. Putting him pain. You get what I'm saying? Like nonstop. There's a different level of respect that I have for him just because that, because I see you hold it down with the heavyweights. Just like if you're in the boxing gym, just like if you fucking if you are nobody and you come off the bench and I see you holding down against LeBron. You got your hand to his head, you checking him. He gets his points, you got your points. I'm not gonna say you're a fucking Hall of Famer, but I have to give you the greatness status because you went against greatness. I saw you on the stage with greatness and you held your own. So when I see him and I look at his roles, no matter if it's something simple as like, nay no, this, I'm gonna be completely dumb, observe and report, right? With him and fucking Seth Rogan. The dumbest fucking role in the world, smallest role in the world, but we're talking about you and Seth Rogan, which some people would say Seth Rogan's not funny, whatever, and that's fine. Okay, cool. So then you could go to other things where it's like, all right, where else would you see him in a different role where he's he stood his own? And it's plenty of movies where you can be like, yo, like you, like your man and watch against Jake Gyllenhaal. Him and Jake Gyllenhaal holding it down on a screen.
SPEAKER_03That's my guy. Yes, my guy. Okay, so this is what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So this is this is the status of where I'm like, I can see you playing a role. Like, that's why I would never say Jake Gyllenhaal is not great, because I've seen him do his thing on his own. Great actor. And I see him, and I see him when he's across from someone else, that he holds it down.
SPEAKER_03Now, if if he's you know, maybe like which I'm not saying Michael Pinya cannot hold it down against other. I'm that's not what I'm saying. I all I'm saying is I've reserved the title great for a select few people. That's all I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02And I feel that's and I feel that's the bullshit. No disrespect, right? I feel that's because it's like it's it's it's a it's a pedestal. It's a pedophile that you are putting people up that it's like you gotta prove to do more. And it's like, what else this nigga gotta do when it's like is he with the other than John Liguazamo? Yeah, I think so. I've seen I've seen him, I've seen him do more, and uh so this is the reason why. And you see, you see, look, look, the I'm like yo, bro. This is this is this is why this is this is this.
SPEAKER_03Two weeks ago, we literally just had a whole conversation on John Liguizamo. And you grew up for him. So him and Michael Pena are great actors.
SPEAKER_02That's so him and Michael Pena are great actors, but Michael Pena is a better actor. I yo put it like this, bro. I can see John Lig John Legguizamo. Let's go to his fucking movies and what he plays in. He plays in good movies. He his his main go-to though is like you gotta have some funniness with you all the time. He like when he does a completely, I'm just serious role, name one completely serious role that he pulled off that you was like, yo, he did that. You get what I'm saying? And a lot of people. A small ounce in time with another shitty act. We was already talking about who was the actor. Al Pacino is the worst actor in the come on. But we already talked about this. Oh my god. He has a terrible accent, he's a thespian and all this other shit, but he does not go out of the role of Al Pacino. It is always Al Pacino. And all right, so take that away. He's not a terrible actor. He's a great you want to give him a great find. He has great movies. I could give you, he has iconic movies, but he's not a fucking good actor where I could take this nigga and put him in a role. When you take, when you take Al Pacino and you put him in a comedy, bro, it is terrible. Terrible. Name one comedy that you've seen Al Pacino in where you was like, he did his thing. He's always cringy, bro. Cringy as fuck. Like, so it's like you don't have range, my nigga. You just have seniority and you got niggas that have been watching you since Serpico, and now it's like you're at this pedestal that you hold these fucking old ass actors up to, which is bullshit. It's okay if you watch them in movies and it's okay if they have classics, but there are people that are out here right now that have been acting for less than 20 years, which he's been acting for 40 or more, and they could do if a person that comes into the game that's only been in the game for 15 or 20 years and he could pull off more range and it's believable, then these old yo, bro, y'all gotta stop holding these old niggas up to fucking pedestals, like they just the end all be all because they're despians and because they have uh a good IMB, whatever. You get what I'm saying? That's that's I I feel like it's like the like I feel like it's like the Jordan shit. You know what I'm saying? It's like the Jordan shit, or even like if it's people like LeBron, the LeBron stuff. You know what I'm saying? Like if you're a Jordan and you're LeBron, all you're doing is like, yeah, his accolades and he could do this and he could do that. But it's like, bro, put him up against another dog, and when it when they go back against each other and they bump heads, you can't just not, like, you know what I'm saying? You can't just not be like, oh, I gotta see more out of this dude. Like, I'll give you an example. Um, and it's a lot of young niggas, you know what I'm saying? But I was just gonna say my two, like Austin Reeves, a dog, fucking Cooper Flag, a dog, but just because they haven't been in a game long enough, or because they haven't had that star role that LeBron has, or because Jordan has, people are always gonna be like, oh, well, they have to show me more. Okay, give them time. But if you if you be in an actuality of what they've done in a small capsule of time, bruh, just give that man respect. Okay. All right. I'm just saying, bro. That's it. That's it. I'm John, if I was if you were to be like, John Leguzamo is coming out with a movie, or Michael Pena is coming out with a movie, I'm watching a Michael Pena movie first. Because I know I'm gonna get a laugh, I know I'm gonna get some action, I know I'm gonna get some seriousness. I don't know what I'm gonna get for him, but I know with John Leguzamo, it's like either I'm gonna get stone faced, what like he just played Pablo Escobar. That shit was terrible. I just watched that the other day. Like, it was like, okay, you speak Spanish and you got a mustache, my nigga. Good job. Kudos. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_02You and I still you still ain't you still ain't giving me one movie that he played in besides you gave me because you were all.
SPEAKER_03You gave me Biddy Blanco for that. No, we focusing on two Spanish. I I my my whole thing, and this is where this is where sometimes we disagree on things. I have no problem putting people up there high. And your thing is you you're like either you're up here or you're down here. Like, no, there's no listen to what I'm saying. When you literally, you lit, we were literally, you brought up Jordan and LeBron, and then in the same sentence, you said Austin Reeves, like are like two completely different tiers of talent-wise, right? You're right. I'm not saying it's wrong. If he did not have LeBron on LeBron, he would not be Austin. Listen to what I'm trying to tell you. I'm listening, but I don't agree with that. I need you, I need, I, I need sometimes I need people, not even you. Sometimes I just need common sense on things sometimes. Okay. Some people, forget all that. Some people are good in their roles because they have other people carrying the water. That doesn't mean that that person who's good is not as good. But when you don't have people focusing on you to do certain things and you can just freely play, it's an easier play for you. But when someone is focusing their attention on you, and they know you probably you might go right, you might go left, or don't stand that spot because that's where he likes to shoot. This is when your greatness comes into play. And all I'm saying is, Arson Reeves is good, my nigga. He's good. But a lot of his goodness comes from being on a loaded team. If certain people are not playing, the Lakers are not loaded, but of a season. I'm not saying loaded, but you know what I'm saying. You got LeBron, you got Luca, you got Ruyo or whatever. And when LeBron and them born of time, I get it, I get it. If LeBron and Luca are out and Austin Reeves drops 30, people are gonna be like, see what I'm saying, but that was one game. You do it over three, four weeks, people can't say nothing. And I hate using the whole Austin Reeves, LeBron James thing, but two different skill sets. That's all I'm saying. You can use someone else, but like, stop. I get it. Austin Reeves can hoop, I get it. Two different tiers. Scale Godlike tears are two different. Back to Michael Pena and John Liguzamo.
SPEAKER_02Wait, hold on, hold on. Before you go on. Yeah. No, uh, no, so and that's why I'm respect that. But I respect that. And this is we talking about like I can agree with you on that. And you can look at the nigga's stats itself when LeBron is not there or when he's, you know what I'm saying? Like, if you, yo, bro, this nigga be putting up 31, 7, and 8, 36, 8, and 5, 33, 5, and 8, 26, 8, and 10, 31, 7, like, bro, and it's not no situation where you could be like, oh, it's just one game. And I'm not trying to, I am not trying to say LeBron is, or I'm not trying to say Austin Reeves is in a LeBron or Jordan status. I'm giving you the example of how you put people on pedestals and you don't even look at the talent that be there outside of who's there around them. If a person can go out there and constantly and fuck it, fuck Austin Reeves, fuck Cooper Flag. If a person could go out there and be able to hold his own with heavyweights in acting, like your favorite movie you said, Fury or whatever else, you get what I'm saying? You have to understand there's a difference. So when when we go through the IMBD of fucking uh um uh uh Michael Pina, and then you go from the IMBD of John Legguizamo, bro, there the amount we don't even talk about the amount of movies, just the movies that he in, that he they are in that they kill their role, opposed to you just being a nigga who's just a funny guy for three to five seconds. Like John Legguzzamo has been getting those roles for a long time. It doesn't matter if he was in Chef, it doesn't matter if he was in Encanto, it doesn't matter if he was in Violent Night as the evil guy. The only big role that he had like in a long time was fucking what? Critical thinking, Empire, and Mario Brothers. Empire was trash, but a lot of people would be like, it was okay, right? I think one of his one of my favorite movies he's ever was in was Spawn and Mulan Rouge, which he's he played, you know, characters that you would probably be like, oh, I didn't know that was him. So that's why I still give him a status to be like, yo, he kills a role so much that it's like, or even like one of my favorite, I'll just be real, Too Wong Fu. Thanks for everything. You're next to fucking Leonardo, I mean, um Wesley Snipes and Patrick Swayze in their heyday, and you hold it down, and you the fucking the senorita of the show, right? So he was very romantical in that movie.
SPEAKER_03That's fine. And I get it.
SPEAKER_02You get what I'm saying? I love that. But let's be real, bro. He don't have a lot of other, he don't have a lot of shit where it's like that.
SPEAKER_03I wasn't even arguing over John Legazo Leg Guizamo, Michael. I agree with you on Michael Pena.
SPEAKER_02No, you was you was this you were disagreeing when I when he was like, what would you prefer, John Leg Guizamo or Michael Pinya? And I was like, Michael Panama.
SPEAKER_03Think about it. I think you were right. But I also think about it in the sense that John Leg Guizamo is a little older. So naturally people are gonna go like Michael Pena over John Liguizamo. But I'm I'm just saying, like, you know, he he's a good actor. I I have no issues. I probably choose Michael Pena as well. I mean, I I don't know. They're just both very good actors. I my whole thing.
SPEAKER_02But the one has more range.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02It's not an okay. It's evident. It's on. Listen, okay.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_02It's the okay, like, ah, whatever. I ain't trying to argue with you. No, it's a truth. You can go through their IMBD. Like this nigga, and even if you want to be like he's old, that's fine. He's old, okay. But this nigga just dropped fucking the shit where he's um Pablo Escobar, and it's like, ah, perfect example, like you say, could there be a whole bunch of other people that could play that role? Yes. Opposed to when you're looking at a situation where it's like Michael Pinha being in a small, like I said, a small role like Ant-Man. Bro, he held that shit down for his small ass role. To be like, who else? Who else could you put in that role that you would that literally, and you know, I you know I love niggas that could play the spectrum. That nigga, he was slow in that role. He was he was an inch away from radio in that role, my nigga.
SPEAKER_03So it's it's time to say I got you, I got you. All I'm saying to you is, or I'm I got you. You you have your opinion, and you may it's an opinion, it's not necessarily a fact. You have your opinion, and I would love for us one day over time to do a group study and put up Michael Peña and put up John Liguizamo and just randomly who's the more memorable actor. And I'm I for roles that they kill and people remember. And I'm just curious to see how many dings Michael Pena gets and how many dings John Liguizamo gets. And I'm not saying that I'm not gonna say whatever. I'm just curious. That's all. That's it. Name three, name, name three roles that John Leguzamo killed. I'm just asking. It's between me and you. I'm with you on Michael Pena. We're not having this conversation because I can't argue with you.
SPEAKER_02I'm not I'm not arguing with you either. I'm just asking. Name three roles that John Leglizamo killed.
SPEAKER_03Uh um he ice age, people. I don't know. Like, what are you talking about? Niggas don't remember that nigga from Ice Age. What? But niggas don't remember him as Sid. All right, fine. Bro, all I said was you put up Michael Pena, put up John Liguazemo. I'm just curious to see what people say. I'm not arguing that point. All I said is the reason why John Liguizamo came up is because you brought him up last week or two weeks ago. You brought him up. I didn't, because we were talking about great actors. And you said that nigga John Liguzimbo is a great actor. And I was like, what are you talking about? And you had to remind me. That's the same thing.
SPEAKER_02But when we doing a comparison, when we doing a comparison of the Latin brothers.
SPEAKER_03Oh boy. You bringing up the race thing. I I never talk about the brother. What do you mean?
SPEAKER_02I'm just saying that it doesn't matter. They're both Latin and they don't give a fuck. When we bring up the roles of what they are, there's only reason why, and I'm gonna just be honest. I think the only reason why a lot of people may be like they wouldn't know is because John Leguuzamo is a household name. He's been around so long, and that name Leguizamo is more understandable or not understandable. But it's more like, oh, John Leguzama, you think of him. You get what I'm saying? Opposed to you be like Michael Pinha, it's such a simple name. People are gonna be like, who? But when you show his face, they are gonna be like, that's my nigga.
SPEAKER_03Of course. I'm not I'm just saying, I'm just curious to know. That's all. Okay. That's all. That's all I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02That's what I'm just saying. Yeah, he has a lot of small fucking roles, like, like uh American Ultra, even. You know what I'm saying? Like he did great. I was it was hilarious in American Ultra. You get what I'm saying? But it's like my nigga.
SPEAKER_03Okay. And like, once again, we we this goes back to the whole Denzel thing. Like, I just I agree with you when it comes to range when it comes to Denzel, but I'm just saying the movies that he was in, limited range or not, he was fucking great in. And that has to account for something. What? I have no idea, but that has to account for something. That's all. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I know I'm I don't think he's a bad actor. I just think there's a level of when you like, it's like because we have seen him in so many roles for so long and we saw him kill it, it's like, oh my god, he can never do wrong. And then it's like, cut it out because there's people that are out here that have range that is crazy, that it's like, yo, bro, if if if just just somebody, a simple right of his counterpart, fucking Samuel L. Jackson. People know it's a lot of people that never even saw them show Ptolemy Gray, right? There's people that haven't even seen Caveman's Valentine. There's people that don't even know the extensive role that he played, whether it be like the DJ and fucking uh do the right thing, or you get what I'm saying? So it's like people don't know a lot of that. People just know my uh people just know Samuel L. Jackson and Pulp Fiction or something else saying motherfucker, motherfucker. So they they associate him with just being a hood nigga that screams, they got a bald head, and they're gonna be like, oh, he's not a great actor. But then when you look into like his roles of like what was the one fucking movie he had where um where the nigga was uh torturing the dude in the room and it was like it was like it what the fuck was it? That was a good movie too.
SPEAKER_00Pulp fiction? Like I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Nah, nah, nah. He's always torturing somebody. It was it was uh I think the negotiator, I want to say it. No, the negotiator, he had the red wig. It was it was one movie where it was like like he he was he was he was like basically the dude that when he came in the room. That's and that's like even shit like that. When this nigga could play across from Bernie Mac and hold his own, but then he could go and do something like I think it was unthinkable. Yeah, I think it was that. It was unthinkable. That was a movie. You know what I'm saying? Or then he could play in some shit where it's like uh um unbreakable, you know what I'm saying? And it's like, yo, bro, this nigga's in a wheelchair, or then he could go and do something where it's like Lakeview Terrace, and you're gonna be like, yo, I hate that nigga. Or then he could do something that's like Django, where you like, yo, I hate that nigga. But then he could come back and do something as simple as like 187, where you like, oh shit, this nigga. Or then he could go and do something like the banker, and this nigga got so much motherfucking swag, you like, that nigga got money for real. You get what I'm saying? Or then he could go and put on a fucking kilt dress and play in Formula 51, or then he could go and play, he could do just like John Q did a parent that's in distress. He could play fucking um a parent that his his mom is, I mean, his daughter is, you know, uh raped, you know, scraped by the people and it's fucked up. And now it's like, okay, it's a time to kill. Then he could do Hitman Bodyguard, he could do a country movie like uh The Hateful Eight, or a country movie like The Unholy Trinity. You get what I'm saying? Or he could play a movie like Changing Leg like, bro, that is range. That's range. So I don't get why when I'm saying Denzel doesn't have range, and I need to see more of him over time, people would just go to his movies and be like, oh, well, he got nothing but hit. But they don't put Samuel L. Jackson in a higher tier because of the simple fact you can look at his movies. He could go from a fucking crazy nigga that's in the army to a fucking dad that's inspiring to like, bro, like no, bro. I'm just keep going twisted, diehard, the great white hope, Amos and Andrew, bro. This yo like incredible, bro. It's like that deep blue scene, yeah, he's bio, like, bro, fresh. Yep. This nigga played a crackhead and walking in that bitch, like, you know what I'm saying? When the nigga played Gator, like, bro.
SPEAKER_03That was the that that was the the Wesley Snyder's movie. I forgot what it was. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02The black or white shit. What the fuck is that? You know what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02But I'm just saying, bro, that's that's what I'm talking about. Range, that's the like I want to say this. And I when I talk about range, I put Samuel L. Jackson up here in this stratosphere that I don't even fucking know. I'm gonna be real. I don't even know. But if you are not in that category, then you guess where it's dropped down. Samuel L. Jackson is the top of top tier of actors to where he can go and play with a white actor, he could go and play with a Spanish actor, he could go and play with a woman, he could go and play, he could go and play with uh I can see Samuel L. Jackson right now get in a movie with I would like try to think of like um like any new up-and-coming actor, a new young up-and-coming actor. And I could see him hold his own. Now, I'm not saying Denzel won't hold his own. We've seen him with Mark Wahlberg, but whatever. I I'm positive Denzel will capture the the um you know your eye like anyone else. But I'm talking about the range of these young actors, these niggas got range, bro. These young niggas got range, and that's the reason why, you know, I we we I'm gonna piss you off right now, but that's the reason why when we were talking about the Timothy Chalamet and the Michael B. Jordan situation, is you know what I'm saying? But you know, that's that's that's for another day. And then not saying not saying Michael B. Jordan is a bad actor. I'm just saying, nigga, you got you gotta get yourself up to the Samuel L. Jackson status and give me more of a range. Give me more of a range. Of course. Because it's like, what are we talking about? I I I got you. No, go ahead. No, I want you to see. I just want to see more. No, no, I that's it. I was just saying, I just I just gotta see more. Like, that's it. Every movie is just Michael B. Jordan in another movie.
SPEAKER_03Let me think. Yeah, you might be right. I mean he's like the cool black guy, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Like the cool black guy that's on the screen, and it's not that he's a bad actor, because I like you saw well, we talked about a chronicle.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. No, I got you. I got you. I mean, listen, you know how I feel about Samuel Jackson. Like, I think he is I think he him and um my guy, um oh god, from Blackish. Oh my god. Um Morpheus? Yeah, he's got range too, bro. He's got listen, you can't.
SPEAKER_02He doesn't have Samuel L. Rains.
SPEAKER_03I'm not saying he see, see, here we go. I'm not saying he's Samuel L. Jackson, but he has range too. He's been in a plethora of movies from A to Z, bro. I you may not like him.
SPEAKER_02But he has It's not that I don't, it's this but it's not that I don't. I just feel like he's the same person. No, he's no he's not. No, stop.
SPEAKER_03Okay, bro. That's all right. You gotta you gotta don't do that.
SPEAKER_02Bro, name one, name one movie. So we're talking about some new.
SPEAKER_03What's his name again? Lawrence Fishburg. There you go. Name like it's the same. Sometimes my sometimes my um my my uh onset dementia gets to me.
SPEAKER_02It's okay. That's what I'm here for. But I I need you to understand and I need you to look to these movies and understand what I'm saying is he plays the same fucking. He plays the same role, and not only just that, and not the same role, but he plays it's just him. Like, it's just him. He's no different. It's like he he either turns up his Samuel L. Jackson, or he turns up his um Lawrence Fishburne, or he turns it down. There's never a point in time where it's like, like, like he could be Morpheus, where it's like, choose the red pill or the blue pill. Okay, fine, right? Great, you're a great actor. I'm not saying you're not a great actor. What I'm saying is it doesn't matter if you're in fucking contagion, or if you're in 21, or if you're in fucking uh uh what's what's the other shit? Why the fuck is Kia? Or this I didn't even know this nigga played Thurgood Marshall. Oh, you didn't know that? Uh no, it's terrible. Like I'm looking at the mustache, I can't. Fucking just um just cause with Sean Connery. You he yo, bro. And and this is what I'm trying, this is what I'm trying to say. And I'll give you yo, your boy, your boy, we're gonna talk about Nicholas Cage, bumass next. Um but you know what I'm saying? Like, bro, it's like he's the same dude, bro. He's the same dude. He's the same dude from Fled. He's the same dude from fucking Tuskegee Airmen, he's the same dude from school days, he's the same dude from the astronaut, the same dude from Biker Boys, same dude from Othello, same, like all it is is you're you're changing it to extent, like bro, even another terrible the accent, yo, accent was terrible in higher learning. Was that nigga Jamaican? Guyanese? What the fuck was he, bro? So what are we talking about? This is bro. Okay. This is the when we speak of Samuel L. Jackson, let's not talk about anybody that's in his category unless they are in his category. Okay. And I don't want to, you know, give drop the race card, but the only person that I right now that I think pops in my mind is Leonardo DiCaprio. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That is up there with you can do plenty of roles, and it's like you're a different person in every single role. You are not the same person in every single role. Now you may have a little twist to it where it's like you're putting a splash of yourself into it, but I can see you like lose yourself in the character. That don't happen with him, bro. What what you think, uh, what you think Lawrence Fishburg's best movie is?
SPEAKER_03What's love got to do with it?
SPEAKER_02Okay. That was just Lawrence Fitzburg on COVID.
SPEAKER_03That was it to my head. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I agree with you though. I agree, I agree with you. I would so I I was gonna say hoodlum, school days, and indefinitely. I would do that. But even with though, it's like hoodlum, you just the 1920s Lawrence Fishburne. School days, you just Lawrence Fishburn going to college, and fucking uh the one, the one you just said, uh just Lawrence Fishburn on cocaine. Like, bro, like hands down, bro.
SPEAKER_03Like, I mean, but I'm but I'm just saying, I I mean, you're right, though. Like, I'm not like, you know, no one has it like Samuel Jackson, right? Samuel Jackson is the is the titan in the industry, right? He's he's done them all. Like he's you know, he's been in them all. I I I sometimes I just wish to like, I felt like Don Cheeto was on that that projection, but then I don't see him all as much in stuff anymore. I mean, you know what I mean? I felt like he was on that trajectory, but then after you did the Iron Man stuff and the TV series joint that was on Showtime, Black Friday is just like, damn, you know?
SPEAKER_02So I think I think I so I don't want to take nothing from him. I feel um I feel he's a great actor, but not being funny or nothing, I I put him pretty much in the same category. Like, and so I'm gonna give you an example, right? Fucking Wesley Snipes. Great actor. But every movie he plays in, he's he's basically Wesley. You know what I'm saying? Like, he's always doing some type of kung fu. You know what I'm saying? He's always breaking somebody down like he blade or some shit. It always has to happen in every movie. You get what I'm saying? Um, like when I look at his movies, like, it's like he's Don Cheadle is a great actor. Yo, and you know what I'm about to click? This is another reason why I said this to my man. Back to back to my man Michael Pena, you know what I'm saying? Crash, bro. That nigga did his thing in crash, and it was mad niggas in that shit. Mad niggas in that shit. He did it. I didn't like that movie though, but I got you. But you don't like it because of the I just thought it was boring.
SPEAKER_03It was just a boring, long, and yeah, I didn't like Crash. It was boring, it was long. I I wasn't a big fan of it. But I got it. I thought it was good.
SPEAKER_02It was good. It was good. He was good in it. I thought it was good. It was, I thought it was good, it was well written. But I'm just I'm just going through Don Cheadle's shit right here. You know what I'm saying? Like I just feel like he's it's unfortunately, you know, he plays the same role in a lot of his movies.
SPEAKER_03Okay. What was you about to say, because I know we've been on in an hour. What were you about to bring up? Um, you was about to bring up somebody.
SPEAKER_02No, I did Michael Pinya. That's it. It was just Michael Pinha and fucking uh and because I just looked at Don Cheadle in this movie. Uh I just looked up Don Cheadle in what the fuck is this movie? And Crash. And as soon as as soon as you see it's the when you look at the cover of Crash, is that it's my man Michael Pinya grabbing his daughter, crying out like mouth wide open, screaming hands here. So now I get what you're saying when it's like, you know, he's not memorable. You know what I mean? Like it's something I get, I understand that. I'm not saying like he's end all be all at the top. I'm saying like when you go with if if you were to go back through his movies and watch them, you'll be like, hey, sorry that I don't know why he doesn't get roles like that, though.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't know why either. Um I don't know why either. I think he's a very good actor. I I my whole thing was great, and you know, that's all. But but you are right with the Leonardo DiCaprio and the Samuel L. Jackson comparisons based on range of characters and movies. And I think that when now that people are watching series more, um watching things on Prime and Hulu and Apple TV and stuff like that, I think that a lot of actors can pick up um more diverse roles and work on their craft when they do series, right? Because Samuel Jackson was to me, Samuel L. Jackson was always great, but when he did Ptolemy Gray, I was like, he's done it for me. And I just feel like maybe Denzel should try to go that route. Maybe he should be in, like right now, Samuel Jackson's gonna be in Tulsa King, right? He's gonna have his own spin-off. Um, I didn't know that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because you know, he was in he was the character in the last season of Tulsa King, and now he's gonna be Frisco King. And it's just like I feel like I feel like sometimes I feel like he he like sometimes I just think that he, but like, I'll do anything as long as it's good. Whereas Denzel, I feel like is like I don't even know, but Denzel should he should expand his his his range, basically. And that's all I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02That's all I'm saying.
SPEAKER_03But you're right on that. Yeah, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, um, I'm not disagreeing on that at all. Trust me, I'm not. But um, yeah, man. But I think you have to sometimes when you when you argue the whole Denzel thing, I think sometimes you just have to clarify it sometimes, right? Um it's even with Robert De Niro, like when we talk about Robert De Niro, it's just like he's only dirt, he's great in those gangster type roles. And then you would think, like, he's not gonna, but then next thing you know, he'll be in some comedy, whether he's good or not. But at least he's in it. Right? Like, at least he's trying other avenues. And I just think that certain actors should go for it. Um and then like with the
SPEAKER_02I agree with that completely, and I feel like that's where you can find your comfortability. Like I I like for me personally, I haven't seen uh uh um a Robert De Niro role in a comedy that I was like, he did terrible. I feel like he brings that gangster, whoever he is, to it. There's never there's never a point in time where he's like chucking and jiving, or he's like, oh, that's cringy. I don't think he you get what I'm saying? Like, I think maybe the closest he came to cringy was when he did um Me and My Grandpa was that Efron. Yeah, I want to say like maybe that was the closest because he was like a little bit over the top and he was talking about like fucking bitches and shit like that. You get what I'm saying? So that was a little different. But besides that, man, everything he played in from meet the fuckers to fucking um like what was the last one I just seen him in where it was like uh like even if it's even simple roles, like when he did the shit where he was the family and it was him, Michelle Pfeiffer and the two kids, and it was like a little bit of comedy. You get what I'm saying? Like, hey, he pulled it off. You're not you're not losing who you are, you're not losing your uh uh um good fellow or your your uh casino type of vibe. You're still that same person, and that's that's how I can attribute to that. Like, if if if I know hey, Lawrence Fitchburn is the same in every movie, or like perfect example, like when you said uh blackish, he do his thing in blackish. I ain't even off front. Lawrence Fitchburn is hilarious because he be on some shit like, yup, I'm up out of here. I ain't got time for this shit. You get what I'm saying all the time. Typical. Do that, do be that, be who you are. Don't go outside of, you know, you don't have to wear paint and or face paint and everything else. You could do it. But if I'm not seeing you do it, I can't give you the credit. And I feel like that's what people do with Denzel. It's like, oh well, if he wanted to, he could pull the roll off. He just doesn't do it. You don't fucking know that. So stop holding up up to this pedestal. Okay. Niggas, niggas be offended when you talk about Denzel. Like, you know what's like the one girl was in the comments and she was like, uh with the with the uh radio thing, she was like, Well, I'm just saying, I don't give a fuck what movie it is. I'm going to see it. It don't matter just because it's Denzel. And that's that wasn't that wasn't what we was talking about. It was just a simple fact of being like, does he have as much range as this person? It's like, no, I don't care. It was Will Smith. That's what it was. It was Will Smith versus Denzel. And she was like, I'm not rushing to see no Will Smith movie, I'm rushing to see a Denzel movie. And if I think I think it's because of the status and a lot of the bullshit that has happened over the years with Denzel.
SPEAKER_03I think it's because of the status and also of the seriousness. Like, Denzel doesn't play in non-serious movies. Like, you know what I'm saying? You go see a Denzel movie, you're expecting uh Academy Award, be up for this, be up for that, serious movie. Right? So if someone says, you you won't even hear the title. Someone says, Let's go see a Denzel Washington movie, you kind of know what you're getting. Like, you know he's the main role, and it's going to be something serious, and it will be on one of his greatest roles ever played. You don't know what you're gonna get. You don't know what you're gonna get when you go to a Samuel Jackson movie. Like, you don't know if you're going into a comedy, like, is he gonna play somebody that has dementia? You don't know if he's gonna have a supporting role in it. You don't know if he's gonna be a screen stealer in it. You don't know, like, is he someone's angry grandfather or someone's comedic grandfather? I mean, the same thing with Will Smith. Mind you, Will Smith. You don't know what which Will Smith you're gonna get. Are you gonna get the goofy one where it's just like, yo, bro, you're putting in way too much emotion, or you're gonna get the somber Will Smith where he's a goddamn slave. You know what I'm saying? Like, you just don't, you, you just don't know. And um, yeah, I I'm I'm with you. Like, Samuel Jackson is my, that's my guy. Like, you know, there'd be movies CBN, I'd be like, oh shit, I didn't even realize he was in it. But once again, when you could go from someone that has dementia to goddamn Nick Fury to being goddamn Deep Blue Sea with LLQJ, to, you know, like you said, being wearing a kilt, right? Um he was also in what was the Vin Diesel shit? The Triple X? He was in the old Triple X. You know what I'm saying? So it's King Kong. King Kong, you know what I mean? So um, yeah, I got you. I I I'm not, you know, you go sit Denzel watching, you know the nigga gonna die then. Right? Like I mean, not always. I mean shit. The only movies I've seen him die in was uh This nigga didn't die in the five movies I've seen.
SPEAKER_02So so this is so this is I'm gonna give you this example, right? Yeah. I feel that and this is like when you was like, when you see a Denzel movie, you know it's gonna be on the list of one of his greatest movies or whatever. That that's the biasness, I feel.
SPEAKER_03Nah, no, no, no. I don't mean it. Not listen to what I'm saying. I don't mean one of his greatest movies. What I'm saying is people are going to look to see that was one of his greatest roles because a lot of his movies are serious movies. I'm not saying, I'm me personally, I'm not saying that if I expect to see his greatest role. But you're already in that mindset, like this is going to be a serious movie. So I need to pay attention to every single word and thing he does because this movie may be up for an award because it's Denzel. Right? That's why people start bringing up highest to lowest, because it's like, oh, it's highest to lowest. It's on Apple TV. Oh, terrible movie. It's Apple TV, it's Denzel, it's gotta be excellent. So you already turn the movie on and be like, I expect this to be one of his greatest draws. And when you see the movie, it's just like, bro, this shit is garbage. Like, garbage.
SPEAKER_02You know what else? You know what else was overrated? Fucking Equalizer 3. Everybody went out their way to be like, oh, let's go watch Equalizer. Bro, he didn't every single, like, he's he's this nigga's doing magic tricks, bro. He's showing us his face and being like, yeah, come and see us. And he didn't do no come forward, and nothing he had to do. He didn't do nothing in that movie. It was like every scene, he's sitting down, and then it's like boop, boop, boop, boop, boop, and then he gets up, puts on his weapon, and walks away. This nigga didn't do nothing. He just got this walk, then he walked off with his same old walk, then he got his same little face. Yeah, yeah. Like, bro, yo, bro. The fact, yeah, I and he knows it. He's like, he's like, he's like Jay-Z of acting or like LeBron of that. Like, it doesn't matter what he does. The fans are gonna be like, oh my god, he's the greatest ever.
SPEAKER_03And it's like, uh listen, what I I know people not in, I know people, but like I re like I a lot of Denzel movies I've seen, I think I've seen them all. I've really enjoyed Man on Fire. Um the take on the world.
SPEAKER_02You don't think any huh? You don't think anybody else could have done? So let's talk about how you you'd be like, other people could do these roles.
SPEAKER_03Of course. I think other people could have done a lot of his roles, but but once again, I think what what Denzel brings is the whether it's right or wrong, he brings that cool factor, right? That people look for those roles. They look for that that confident role, and that's what he brings. I mean, uh whether it's right or wrong, it is what it is. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I'm not even like every time, every single time, I always feel like I'm I'll put my mouth about the whole argument, right? Because I'm not even up for it. You know what it is, bro. And I'm gonna say this right now. I know what it is. Going through his movies, I know what it is. It's because he first off, bro, you can't take nothing away from him. This nigga since I want to say from what, let's say queen and country, like whoever watched that, right? From queen and country on, we talking about hits. We're talking about Antoine Fisher, Virtuosity, Helican Brie, John Q, fucking Preacher's White, Mo Bed of Blue, Mississippi, the Siege, Courage Under Fire. Yes, Devil in the Blue Dress, my nigga. Like, come on, man. Bro, I'm I'm not taking nothing away from it. But what I'm what I am saying though, is even when you go through these movies, yeah, these are movies that all of these movies are star-studded as well, bro. Ricochet? These are Ricochet Prime, I mean, whatever. But these are movies that are star-studded. We talk about Bone Collector with Angelina Jolie. We talk Fallen, Fallen, he did his thing on his own. I'll give him that. Glory was nigga, he wasn't the only nigga in Glory.
SPEAKER_03And Pelican Brief with homegirl, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, fucking um Mel Mel Mel what Meg Ryan and fucking courage under fire. Not saying she out acted him or nothing. You get what I'm saying? Fucking Preacher's wife with uh uh I'm about to say whoopy Goldberg, Whitney Houston.
SPEAKER_03He got game with the great Rosario Dawson, you know what I mean? Yeah, like you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02So I'm not taking nothing away from him. Pellem 1, 2, 3 with fucking John uh John Travolta across the good not good John Travolta.
SPEAKER_03Let's let's slow down. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's he's not always good. I'll give you that. Roman J. Israel, he did that by himself.
SPEAKER_03American gangster went fucking risks.
SPEAKER_02But who else was in that? Cuba. My boy Cuba.
SPEAKER_03And uh my man, the white guy, what's his name? Who's who's a excellent actor right there? Um excellent actor. He he be doing his thing too.
SPEAKER_02But but he ain't got he ain't got range like my boy Ryan Reynolds, though.
SPEAKER_03Um, we gotta that's for another pod. We gotta go on the because I think he does, because I think he does got range. I I have to really not like Ryan Reynolds. Not like Ryan Reynolds. I feel like Ryan Reynolds does have range, but I feel like when he plays a very serious role, I don't know if people take him as serious as they should in his serious role. Not saying not saying, not saying he's not good enough, but I just feel like some of his serious roles may get overlooked because he's Ryan Reynolds. But but I got you. I'll give you a little bit of a little bit of a little bit.
SPEAKER_02But I'm saying, like, shit like that, bro. Safe house. This nigga held it down in safe house. Him and Denzel, that's it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. I got you. You held it down in flight, um, um, Denzel. Like, come on, Lomb. Yeah, no, I'm not.
SPEAKER_02That's what I said. He has, I think that's what it is. It's just it's like it's like LeBron. It's like when you see him and it's like he has all of this stat, or Jordan, right? When you see he has all of these accolades, how can you be so blasphemous and say he doesn't deserve it? You get what I'm saying? And that's what it is. Like people look at it like that. But what I'm saying, like, when my man, my fucking uh uh Ryan Reynolds, bro, he can go and play a child movie, or he can go and play an old school white kid movie like waiting, where he's like the worst waiter in the world. He could do a fucking rom-com where he's fat like just friends, or even less, where he's right across from fucking uh Sandra Bullock in the proposal. He could do the movie, um, the changeup that's right across from my man, uh I forgot the one nigga name. He's he's fucking hilarious. But then he could go and do a movie like fucking safe house right across from from Denzel. Or he could play fucking Deadpool and make you be like, yo, I want to see that shit again. Or when he did, you seen when he was in Barry, like, yo, bro, my man got range, range, bro. I just think the the the amount of movies like people look at him in the same aspect like he's band wilder all the time. You get what I mean? And I feel like that's the reason. Yeah. But my nigga, when you doing shit like RIPD and you holding it down with Jeff Bridges, and you could do Safe House right after that and hold it down with Denzel, these are great. How could you like bro? You like bro, I'll be I'll be ready to fight for Ryan Reynolds. I ain't gonna I'll be ready to wrestle.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So I he's he's a good actor.
SPEAKER_02So the reason why I'm gonna I'm gonna say I don't and I don't know. I I'm gonna say the reason why I feel personally, like maybe he just needs to.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he could be dumb. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02He because I I was just watching the movie with um with I was just watching a shit. Let me see what's the name of it. Uh the un The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent with him and Nicolas Cage. I think both of them did good in that, right? Um, but I I feel like there's points in times and not being funny. Like I said, that when when you get roles that it's like it's not as memorable of a role, like I'm looking at him on Equalizer 2. I don't even remember him in that. I'm looking at Gladiator, I don't even remember him in that. I don't even remember him in the Great Wall with fucking Wachikov. I don't even remember him in Triple Frontier, but he was in it. If you would have told me that he was in Triple Frontier, I'd have been like, fuck no, and had to Google it. You get what I'm saying? Like, but opposed to Yeah, he was with Ben Affleck in him. You get what I'm saying? Now, opposed to my boy uh John, what's his name? Barenthal? The nigga, my man. You know what I'm saying? Now him when he played his role, he stand out. You get what I'm saying? It don't matter if he got a small role or a big role, he stands the fuck out. That's that's the difference with me. Like, I I just I just need him to because sometimes, like that nigga, I don't know, but I'm not disagreeing. Your man Pascal is he's definitely nice. He's definitely nice. And I don't know what the fuck this nigga Barenthal is. I think he's just a white guy. You know what I mean? But um no, I know, but I'm saying I don't think he's a like what like he's not a, you know what I'm saying? Like, what's his nationality? That's what I'm saying. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? But like him, him, he could, he could be in a small role. I'll give you an example. He could be in a small role, like uh uh um Wolf of Wall Street, and everybody remembers him because of that small role that he had. He held it down, opposed to like somebody else. So I'm like, ah, I don't know. Is he in that movie?
SPEAKER_00Hold on, let me look it up. You get what I'm saying? Like, I didn't even know this nigga. Yeah, yeah, no, definitely. I mean, but nobody remembers him like that.
SPEAKER_02You get what I'm saying? But I get it. So but I wasn't dancing in fucking bad bunny Super Bowl party, like that nobody's you get what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00Like it's okay. Okay. But so and the just to end it off, Fury, John Barrenthal was in fury.
SPEAKER_02Michael Pena was in fury. Brat Brat all Michael Bro, all of them, bro, all of them are fucking great. Every single from even from the little young boy that survived at the end, but we don't even know who where the fuck he at. But like my my man um who has range too, that we gonna get off the subject. Uh uh uh my boy from Even Stevens. What the fuck his name?
SPEAKER_00Shia LaBuck. That nigga nice. That's a good little argument. Yo, hold on, hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_02You know how I just said it with that. Hold on, hold on. I yo, bro, niggas gonna give I'm I'm saying it right now when I was saying it last year, bro. I was telling niggas about Arthur Reeves when he before he was really getting burnt. I was putting money on this nigga for double doubles when he was coming off the bench. Putting money on him for double doubles off the bench. And then this year, now because you know Luca fell back in it, bro. If he was, if he had his own team, he doesn't, he like the only reason why his points and his numbers are limited is because of them, bro.
SPEAKER_00Yes. No, depending on who he got around him, if you put it like this, bro.
SPEAKER_02If you were to put Austin Reeves on the fucking Orlando Magic with Pablo Banchero and fucking uh uh my man, no, Pablo Banchero, no, he is not, bro. Pablo Banchero and fucking uh what's France Wagner? Nigga, fucking take Pablo off. Put France Wagner and fucking uh Austin Reeves on the same team, my nigga, they gonna fucking tap, bro. That's a fact. Yo, them white boys is dog. And then you take Cooper Flag, I'll take all three of them white boys on the team. They will nigga.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I don't think it's three. If you could name three niggas in a league right now, then I think it'd be a problem. They ain't on that level. They're not on that level. He's not on that level.
