We walk you through the initial Love Island Season 8 Cast, some background about each person that we've been introduced to, and then we cover all the drama from Episode 1. Welcome to Recapped Reality, where we keep your favorite reality TV shows alive after the credits roll. I'm Ashley, your host, and today we're going to be talking about Love Island season eight, episode one. Plus, we're going to be going over the cast reviews. So all the new people that have come in initially in the first episode. Couple housekeeping items before we get into the actual show. First, I swear a lot. I don't filter myself. And so if you have kids around, maybe listen to this later, watch it later. If you're okay with that, just forewarning you. Second, is I'm going to be recording one episode for every episode that there's a show. So I'm not going to be grouping them together. So you won't see, you know, a podcast episode for episodes one through five or this past week. It's going to be literally one for every episode that's out. And I'm doing this to prevent spoilers. So you can kind of listen as you watch the show. So don't ever feel like, oh, I don't want to listen to it right now because I'm going to hear something that I haven't watched yet. It's going to be literally episode by episode. So that's how I roll, uh how I roll. So hopefully you started watching Love Island season eight. I know I'm very excited about it. I've been waiting and waiting and waiting. Uh it's one of my favorite shows. Uh I love that it's daily, pretty much every day. It's like five or six days a week. I love that. It's just you get a little bit of something every day. Um and so I'm really looking forward to the new season. So if you have started watching it, let's let's get into it. All right. So, first of all, I'm going to start over uh going over the cast, and we're going to start with the women because they are shown first. So we have Anaya, who's 23 from Georgia. She is, uh she does marketing for her family's nonprofit. She said uh later in the episode, episode one, that her dad was an NBA player. And so now they started this nonprofit, and so she works with them. She works for their family, she's around them all the time. Uh, she claims to be a girl's girl. I don't think she used the exact words, but the way she said it, she was like, I stick up for my girls type of a vibe. Uh she says she's single for six months, wants to be a wife, and start a family. She is open to anyone. Doesn't matter like how tall they are, what skin color they are, what race they are, what hair color they have. It's literally more of uh certain like characteristics that she's looking for, not so much physical attributes. Um and I don't have this for everyone, but she did say she's a Virgo. And then we have Kenzie, 24 from Georgia. She just graduated nursing school. She's a past competitive dancer. Um, she says she's a lover girl, single for a year and a half. And to me, the vibe I get is uh an airhead blonde vibe, but like funny and energetic. I'm like, I really like her. She seems like super silly and like like she's just gonna be fun, but she's also kind of like a little ditzy as well. Um, and then she says she's a Sagittarius. We have Melanie 24 from Philadelphia. Um, she says she's from Philly, but she lives in LA now. She's a Dominican woman. Um, she says something that I really liked. She said, you don't need to say you're a girl's girl if you do. That's a red flag. You show it. The way you prove that you are is you show it through your action. So I thought that was really cool. She is a manager at a bikini store. Uh, she says she picks the wrong guys always and cannot find love in LA, which is not surprising. We have Beatrice, uh 25 from San Diego, California. She likes the tall, dark, and handsome. Uh, and she says with a mouth mullet. I assume that's a combination of a beard and a goatee or something. I have no idea. I I don't know. But uh, very specific. Um, she said she was born with a birth defect where something about her fibular bone did not develop, and at 10 months old they have to amputate part of her leg. So she has a prosthetic leg. Um, and then she has a two-time Paralympian in the long jump and has received a bronze medal, which is extremely impressive. Uh, she looks super fit. Um, and so you go girl. Like awesome. We have Trinity, which is the last woman uh for our initial uh group of women. She's 22. I did not catch where she's from. I missed it, or they didn't specify. Um, she says she likes tall men with tattoos. Uh she likes guys who are more in the driver's seat and they're gonna take the wheel and like lead. You know, that's the type stuff she likes. She did quit her job uh to come to Love Island. She said she worked at a hardware store. She said she worked there, but she's like, I don't know about I don't know how to help you find what you're looking for. I don't know what you're talking about. I don't know how to do any of that. She just works there. Um, so she says she loves fall uh loves love, falls fast, wants someone who will give her butterflies and is looking for her husband. Okay, so those are the women, um, all in their 20s. And then we have the men. So the men, the first man is sincere. Uh he's 25 from New Jersey, he's a track and field coach, uh, retired from athletics. He said he's an all-10 champ. I personally don't even know what that means, but sounds like a champion of something, uh, which is amazing. Um, claims he's cheesy about his name, was raised by two women, his mom and grandma, and he's just looking for his wife. We got Bryce29 from LA. Uh well, he lives in LA, he's from Hawaii. He's been modeling the past 10 years, he also DJs, and he he claims that um he does anything to be able to pay his bills, basically, because of his modeling and DJing being very like sporadic or seasonal, you know, they come in and out here and there. It's not super reliable income every month. So he does like handyman electrical work. And then he said uh a couple times he fixes garbage trucks, which I'm like, I can appreciate someone who just is willing to do literally anything to take care of what he needs to take care of. So I appreciate that about him a lot. Um, he says he gets judged as a fuckboy often, which he definitely looks like he would be one, and just LA model DJ, you kind of get the vibe, like you probably are. But um, for whatever reason, I really like him. He says while he does get judged as a fuckboy, he's a sensitive, emotional person, and a lover boy. I'm like, we'll see. Um, I really like him for some reason. I don't know why, but I I do. So we'll see how that turns out. Uh we have Zach, who is from England, so not the U.S. He is Charlie's younger brother, so Charlie from last season. Um, he's known as Charlie's younger brother. Um, he says he must uh have a girl who loves his cat, and he's been single for three years, um, and has it has had his heart broken in the past. There wasn't a lot about him uh other than you might know my brother Charlie. Sean is the next guy. He's 29. He says he's been around many, many states, but he's currently in Pennsylvania. He's a police officer, and after his last relationship, he was just out dating a bunch of bunch of women, and he ended up getting a woman pregnant, having a baby unplanned. So now he's a single dad. Um, he's looking for a girl who is has curves and is nice to people just out in general public. So someone who's like kind to strangers, basically. Um, and then our final guy is Casey, who's 23 from California. Uh he's a nursing assistant, wants to be a nurse practitioner. He in his day-to-day job, he takes care of older people. Claims he's never left a woman unsatisfied, which is funny to say. Um, we'll see if these women come out and speak up on it. Um, but he says he prefers to be a lover boy, which tells me he's not always a lover boy, but he would rather be one than be a fuckboy. So it's pretty funny. So those are the men. So there's five men, five women, again, all in their 20s. You got a couple men who are 29, they're almost in their 30s, Bryce and Sean, which is great. Again, Zach, I don't know how old he is. I didn't I didn't catch it, but he looks like he's in the middle 20s, or maybe, I don't know. He looks young. So okay, so that's the cast. Um, into episode one, the first women who show up are Anaya and Kenzie. They show up and they bond over both being from Georgia. They kind of freak out, like, oh my god, we're from the same state. And then you have Melanie coming in, and these three women agree to a pact. They're gonna tell each other if they become delusional over the men, because they always do. So they all pinky promise each other. And then uh Beatrice and Trinity, the final two women, come in as well. You have Ariana Maddox slow walking in. She's got this really awesome black dress on, and it's kind of like covers the one side, and then it wraps around and then just covers her left boob. Um, I thought that was a really cool dress, but they're all in all of each other's beauty, obviously, and then all the men come in. Um, so they all kind of meet, and the first activity is the girls and boys are on opposite sides of the wall. So you got a wall, you got the boys over here, the girls over here, and they're all supposed to go up to a door to answer questions. So there's gonna be four questions, and basically the door is the answer that they pick. So they get to pick which door or answer they they pick, they get to go up to that door. And then what's gonna happen is after every question you answer, you go to the door, they're gonna open the door, and whoever is on the other side, you're gonna kiss. So the girls are gonna kiss the boys, they're gonna kiss everybody, basically. So it's just a way to get them to start making out. So the first question is what's your favorite sex position, missionary, doggy style, or cowgirl? Um, so it was a it was a good variety of what they picked there. Um, and then they kind of talk about like, oh, why is that why is that one your favorite? So they kind of chat amongst the group afterwards, after they're all making out with each other. Um, the second question is what type of person are you, dog, cat, or plant? Most people pick the dog. There's some people that pick the cat, and then there's this one guy who picked plant, and that was Casey, I believe. And he was like, I was being honest, I don't really like pets, but I have a plant. But that was stupid because no one was there, and you know, he missed out on making out. So um he thought that was like an off awful choice, but uh at least you're being honest about what you like. So the third question is is it okay to check your partner's phone? And the choices are always, sometimes, or never. It's very interesting on this one because uh most of the people picked sometimes. There was three men, three women on on sometimes, and then the always it was just one guy, and that was um uh that was sincere. He picked always, and then there was uh two women and one men on never. So it's very interesting because I'm thinking, isn't it a red flag to say never? Like you you're never allowed to look at your phone or my phone or whatever. I think that if it's never, like obviously we all like to have our privacy and we all should have privacy, but at some point if you're in a relationship and you're you're saying you can never look at my phone, it's like what are you hiding? It's like you're definitely hiding something if you could never look at their phone. Like that's just to me, it's just like super shady and red flag. Obviously, you know, at the same time, it's like if you have to look, do you even trust them? Should you be with them? Probably not, but you know. Um, so most of the people picked sometimes. Um, the guy that picked always, they're like, Why do you think you should always? And he says, I've got nothing to hide. I mean, like, it's always available if you want to look. Not necessarily like you always need to look through it, but if you want to, it's there and available. And I have got nothing to hide, so I don't care. Which I'm like, I think that's the best way to look at it is if they want to look through it and you're not doing anything, what they're not gonna find maybe they find something that they, you know, misinterpret, but to me it's fucking common sense. Just you should be able to just look. Um open door. Um, okay, so then the fourth question was really pointless. They just want to have everyone make out with everyone. Are you here to find love and have the summer of a lifetime? And it was uh the the option everyone went to was hell yeah, and then they all make out. So then it's ending with everyone making out with everybody. Um, there were a couple uh couples who kissed. I think there was one couple that kissed all three times. I can't remember who exactly, but it was interesting to see who was feeling who, basically, and it's it's nice that they have the same answers and we're able to make out every single time. Okay, so after this, um the second activity was who are you going to couple up with, basically? So each guy goes to a door with their name on it, and then all the girls have to stand in front of the door of the guy that they want to couple up with. So Bryce uh was the first guy. Trinity was the one girl there, so if there's only one girl, they automatically couple up. Um, to me, they seemed happy and thought they had some chemistry, but I don't know what other people think. Um, and then Sean was the next guy, and he had one girl, Beatrice, who she was the only one, so they automatically coupled up. Casey was the third guy, his door was empty, so basically she's like, There's no women here for you, which is sad. Um but she basically said, Ariana said, you have to wait until the end, because there's gonna be someone else, and then you're just gonna couple up with them, basically. Sincere, he had two women, he had Anaya and then he had Melanie. He honestly did not seem excited about either of them for some reason. I couldn't figure out why, but he picked Melanie, which I'm like, I think he's gonna pick Melanie. He didn't seem excited about any of them at all. Um and his re when he was asked, Why did you pick Melanie? you know, he said she has kind eyes and a nice smile. I'm like, okay. Seems like he was wanting someone else personally. The last person was Zach, and Kenzie was behind his door. Um, she seemed really excited about him. They end up coupling up. I don't know that he was super excited, but she was like really excited about Zach, you know, because she's just like that bubbly, energetic person already, and so she's like super excited. Um, and then we had Anaya and KC. Those were the two left. So they end up coupling up. Um yeah, and KC said I was expecting her to be at my door, or hoping, or or hoping. I think he said I was expecting you to be at my door. Probably because when they're making out they had some chemistry and he was feeling it. He was really excited about her. He wanted her, and she was kind of like, oh, really? Like surprised. So it's kind of interesting. But she seemed open to it, and uh I think maybe they'll work out. They seem like they would work out. Um, so after the activity, now they're coupled up, so they're just kind of exploring the villa, chatting, spending one-on-one time together. Bryce and Trinity end up making out in that the new say less room. I don't know if it's a new room. I think that they just changed it to say less and they made it more like a more darker, intimate room. It looks really cool. Um, Beatrice and Sean, they get into a conversation about music. I guess Sean uh loves country music, and she's like, oh god, I hate country music. Like, I would rather, she says I would rather have another disability than have to listen to that music, which I that's really funny. Um so the first night comes to a close. We got a nine on KC, Beatrice and Sean, Trinity and Bryce, Kenzie and Zach, Melanie and Sincere. My favorite so far, I like Bryce. I don't know why. Again, he's probably a fuckboy, and I'm probably gonna get let down later, but I really like him. I like Beatrice. I think she is funny. She's obviously very um very driven person, very motivated. Um, she's doing shit despite her, you know, her physical disability or whatever you whatever, however she would explain it. Um that's the word she used. Um, so I really like I like her. Um, she seems like she's gonna probably play the field a little bit, which is like you go, you go, girl. So that's okay. Um okay, so the night ends, and then the same, still the same episode. We're on day two. The girls are getting ready in their little makeup room, which is all uh if you've seen the preview video where they walked you through here's the changes for Love Island for the villa, the um girls' powder room or or like getting ready room was updated just with more uh like display of their outfits and all the things that they use to get ready. So um it sounds like they're gonna be having more cameras in there, more conversations in there, because that that is when a lot of the girls are talking about their relationships is they're getting ready, getting ready, you know, and then the guys bring them breakfast, they're you know, they're talking about their situation. So the girls get ready, and the men obviously are tasked with making breakfast. That is the staple of Love Island, is the guys make the breakfast, bring it up to the women every single time. And um uh so they do that, and then uh they just spend the day mingling and chatting for a while. Ariana Maddox shows up at night, so later that night, and tells everyone to meet her at the bonfire. Okay, so we're getting towards the end of the episode. Um, basically the whole day, that it doesn't show us much of the day except they get ready, they have breakfast, they chat, and then Ariana Maddox shows up at night. Okay, so now it's nighttime. Me at the bonfire, they bring the doors back. So the five doors are back. She tells them that they get to decide if you want to stay in the couple that you're in or if you want to explore a new connection. Okay, so if you stay on the so each person, all the women are on one side, all the men are on one side, and you got the doors. So they can't see what each other's picking. But basically, I have to decide, do I want to stay with my current person or do I want to change? So if you want to stay with the current person, you're going on the green dot, you're gonna stay. If you want to change, you want to explore a new connection, you're gonna go on the red, the red dot. So uh they're both gonna make their decision, and then apparently the doors are supposed to open so they can see, you know, did we both pick each other or not? Okay, so Beatrice picks the red, which I was very surprised about, um, a little bit. Sean picks the green. Okay, so Sean says, I want to stay. She says, I want to go. Um, Kenzie picks green. We know she's obsessed with Zach. Zach picks red. Not surprised at all. It was very expected. Trinity and Bryce both picked red, so they both decided we don't, which I'm like, I thought you could they've been making out all day, all night. So I was surprised. But I'm like, whatever. As long as they're both um, they're both wanting to change, that's fine. Maybe they decided they're not compatible or who knows what. It didn't really show much except the making out and seeming like they're getting along, so I was actually surprised to see that. Anaya and KC, those are the couple at the at uh that ended up basically default coupling because they both didn't get who they picked. Uh he didn't have a pick, and then she picked another guy and didn't get chosen by him because he picked the other girl. So they were the default couple, and they both picked green and they want to stay together. So I'm like, I think maybe they will actually work out. So um Melanie and Sincere both pick green. I was I was surprised that he picked to stay. I thought he was gonna bounce for some reason. Um he didn't seem excited, right? So I'm like, he's gonna go. But he they both picked green, we're gonna stay. So Zach, again, I was not shocked by Zach. I was sh I was surprised by everyone else. Um, everyone else's choice. But it's like we didn't see pretty much a whole day of what actually happened, like all the conversations, all the time of them talking to other people. Um, we didn't see a ton of it. So they're both standing on their circle, their red or green circle, and Harriana basically says the new bombshells are coming in, and um, you know, you may be tempted by them. So we have two new bombshells that come in at the very end of the episode. We have Kaida, she's 22 from New Hampshire. She says, I'm in player mode, she's ready to go. And then we got Gabriel, who's a Brazil bad boy. I don't know how old he is. Both of these, these two, they come out, and Gabriel goes on the girl's side, Kaida goes on the guy's side, they kiss everyone that's on the red circle. So not just like a little kiss, like they're literally making out like hardcore, passionate make out. So they're making out. Um, so there's two girls on red, two guys on red. So the bombshell kisses, makes out with both of them, one and then to the next. The girl does the first and then the next, so they both are making out with everyone. And then it shows them taking both people and walking away. So they're basically, excuse me, they're both they're both leaving everyone else there. And everyone that's standing on the green, whether their other partners there or not, they're left not knowing what the fuck is going on. They're like, what the fuck is happening? You know, they're seeing the bombshell make out with these people on there in their gender group that are on the red, and um they just don't know what's going on. So in the next episode, we're gonna find out who's there, who's not, and that's pretty much it. So um we'll look forward to seeing the next episode.
