Warmth As A Sacred Feminine Practice
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
004 - Your body knows when you’re living from pressure instead of presence, and it usually shows up in the smallest moments: rushing your breath, bracing your shoulders, speed-washing your face like it’s another task to finish. We’re slowing all the way down and coming back to a forgotten skill that can change your nervous system and your relationships: warmth.
We start by grounding the conversation in the inner polarities we all carry, feminine and masculine, yin and yang, receptive and active. I share how the divine feminine speaks through intuition, gut feelings, emotions, dreams, and the body, while the sacred masculine gives us the ability to act, speak, move, and bring ideas into form. When those energies work together, creativity becomes a clear channel: receive the impulse, feel it fully, then express it with aligned action.
Then we make it practical. Warmth is not weakness or “being nice.” Warmth is heart-led embodiment, a sense of belonging to yourself, and a shift from urgency into tenderness. I walk you through simple, everyday practices like a warm cup of tea, a soft blanket, gentle face washing, and intentional lotion application, plus a guided invocation meditation to call in the quality of warmth and let it radiate outward. If you’ve been craving divine feminine healing, better energy balance, and self-care rituals that actually land, this is a beautiful place to begin.

SPEAKER_01I'm Marnae Bocett, and I am super excited to be here and share this time with you and share some exciting things that I have learned and I'm still learning, and just create an environment where we can discuss and talk about different aspects of the divine sacred feminine.
Balancing Inner Polarities
SPEAKER_01So we're going to start out today by just acknowledging and talking a little bit about both the male and the female within us because we we have both energies or polarities within us. And I believe that one of the most important challenges that we have in this world is to be able to develop these energies in a way that they can interact with balance and harmony with each other. So in Eastern philosophies, they have always included this concept of the yin or the feminine or receptive and yang, masculine, or active, and have said that everything in the universe is made up of these two forces or polarities. In the West, Carl Jung did some pioneering and exciting work with his concept of the enema and the enemas. He explained that men have a feminine side, an enema, and women have a masculine side, anemas, that most of us have strongly repressed these different aspects of ourselves, and that we do get to learn to come to terms with them. Now, there's a philosophy out there now that perhaps the reason some of these polarities within this, within us, are repressed or out of balance is because we have what we call wounded masculine or wounded feminine. And so there's a there's some things that we could within ourselves find repressed or underdeveloped within us if we have some trauma specifically associated with feminine energy like a mother or masculine energy like perhaps a father. So that's something that we'll talk about more in detail in a future podcast. But for right now, we just know that some people have a resistance to the words female and male because in our culture we have so many preconceived ideas about those what those words mean. Sometimes if it's more comfortable for you to substitute those words with yin and yang, active and receptive, dynamic and magnetic, or any other words that appeal to you, that's fine. We just want to acknowledge that there are those different polarities that can be acknowledged within the both of us. And you know, we can see it throughout nature, we can see it throughout the stars and the moon and the solar system. There's masculine polarities and feminine polarities wherever we look. I like to study and learn a lot about the more the Native American ways, um, and they call it grandmother moon. They call her grand the moon grandmother, they give her a feminine uh relativity and father sky. So they give different parts of the solar system a representation of being either feminine or masculine.
Intuition And Action Explained
SPEAKER_01So I like to think of the feminine aspect as our more intuitive self, and this is the deepest, wisest part of ourselves. This is the feminine energy for both men and women. It is the receptive aspect, the open door through which the higher intelligence of the universe can flow. The receiving end of that channel. Our female communicates to us through our intuition, those inner promptings, gut feelings, images that come from a deep place within us. If we don't pay conscious attention to her in our waking life, she attempts to reach us sometimes through our dreams, our emotions, or our physical body. The divine feminine is the source of higher wisdom within us, and if we learn to listen carefully, moment by moment, we will have a guide that will guide us perfectly. The male aspect is action, our ability to do things in the physical world, to think, to speak, to move our bodies. Again, whether you are a man or a woman, your masculine energy is your ability to act. It is that outflowing end of the channel. The feminine receives the universal creativity energy, and the masculine expresses it in the world through action. Thus we have the creative process. Our female or feminine is inspired by a creative impulse and communicates it, communicates to us through feeling. Our more masculine acts on it by speaking, moving, or doing whatever is appropriate. So let's just take a moment and recognize that we all have these different parts of us. Sometimes some are more overdeveloped than others. Some of them are can be very out of balance. Some of them can have weakness or um maybe an inability to come into balance and harmony. But that's it that's all part of our learning and our growth here while we're experiencing this mortal world. And it's it's just an exciting process to get to know and understand these different aspects of ourself.
Why Warmth Changes Everything
SPEAKER_01Now, as a woman, primarily as your lead polarity expression, we want to know and understand that the way that we can really step into the divine sacred feminine, it's again it's about feeling. It is the way we as women inhabit our body and inhabit it without shame. The way our breath can slow, slow down, and become more rhythmic when we feel safe, and the way our skin can remember tenderness instead of urgency. And when we as women can learn to soften over and above that urgent need to please, and notice when we step into enduring instead of melting. So the word melt would probably lead you into the thought of warmth, right? Oh, warm. Warm is what melts, right? So we're gonna talk about this value and characteristic and the ability to be able to embody the warmth of the divine sacred feminine. When we are able to feel as if we belong to ourselves, that we have a sense of belonging to who we are, to our identity, our purpose, and our mission, our plan. We can feel uh, we can flow into a sense of warmth. So this looks like that we live in awareness, that we stop to listen to our own pulse, and how to honor our own boundaries, and how to be very present in slowness, tenderness, flow, and allowing ourselves to feel who we are first. I associate a lot of times the value and characteristic and the ability to be able to offer a sense of warmth in the sacred divine feminine to look perhaps more soft, more gentle, but not weak. So, first of all, we feel warmth for ourselves, and that comes as we drop into our heart, and we truly imagine and embrace and see ourselves as a warm person. Warmth does come from the heart, and to feel warmth and to receive warmth and to give warmth, you get to drop out of your head and into your heart. Take that journey from your head and to your heart space. Because our heart is what generates that feeling, because warmth is really a feeling that you feel and that you can extend to others, but we do get to start by feeling warmth towards ourselves, and how do we do that? Where do we get that experiential, that point of reference to have a warmth, to have warmth towards ourselves?
Everyday Rituals To Practice Warmth
SPEAKER_01Well, there's literal ways of experiencing warmth. You know, a nice warm cup of tea, uh, cuddling up in a nice warm, very soft blanket, and experiencing the warmth of the blanket, experiencing the warmth of the tea or hot chocolate, and getting in tune with the literal temperature that you would describe as warmth. When you accompany the characteristic and the value that we want to embrace in the Divine Sacred Feminine is what do you think about when someone says oh, they are such a warm person? What words do you think of that would accompany that um definition or that explanation of that person? Usually I think of very welcoming, very inviting. They create a sense of acceptance. And that gets to all start with us, like with ourselves. Do we accept ourselves? Do we welcome who we are and feel a sense of belonging with ourselves? Are we inviting to ourselves and to what we find interesting, what we find fun, what we find intriguing, what we're curious about. Are we able to invite that part of us into a sense of curiosity within ourselves instead of having judgment towards something maybe that we did or that we felt, we can go, hmm, that's interesting. I'm gonna invite myself into some curiosity about that. I'm gonna be welcoming about this and interested and intrigued with what's happening within me. Because that is what you feel from someone else when you describe them as a very warm person. The other things that might describe them again would be that inviting that soft genuine feeling of acceptance. So warmth. When I think of ways that I want to embrace warmth in addition to like a warm cup of tea or a nice warm blanket, is how do I even wash my face with a nice warm washcloth? It used to be when before I really became aware of these characteristics, principles, values, ideas for the divine feminine, was when I noticed I'd wash my face. I'd get the wash rag wet, I'd squeeze it out, and then I'd rub the the wash on my face really quickly and fast and almost erratic, and then take the washcloth and rub and stretch and pull, and you know, just not be very gentle or notice stop and notice the intention of washing my face with warmth, gentleness. And um there's another word with softness, warmth, gentle, softness, and so to even have the experience of washing my own face was very enlightening because it took time, it took uh intention, it took um a desire to experience warmth first with myself. And then there was the experiment that I did with applying lotion, like to my legs. So, first of all, I'd just grab the bottle of lotion, squeeze it in my hands, rub it around, and then just rub it all over my legs really quickly, just to get it done, get it done, get it done. And then when I took the invitation and got curious about experiencing warmth to myself with some lotion, first of all, I warmed the lotion and then put it in my hands and very gently, with intention, with warmth, with softness, I would put the lotion on my legs. And I thought, wow, this is a whole new experience, because I got to be really present. I got to be present with the lotion, with the temperature, with my body, with how I was putting the lotion on my legs, and it was such an awareness, like, okay, this is warmth. And then I did an activity where I thought of different women or men in my life that I would have described them as being a very warm person, warm, inviting, accepting, gentle, soft, maybe even compassionate. And I would think, okay, so if I want to embrace this principle, value, and characteristic of warmth, which is goes very hand in hand with receiving, uh, I was like, okay, I really want to embrace this and learn how to do it first for myself and then extend it to others. And it does really go right along with being very aware, listening, checking into my own pulse, honoring where I'm at, how present am I? Am I slowing things down that could perhaps be seen as more flowing instead of pressure and pushing, and the word that we actually even defined as being the masculine, which is the whole active feminine is receptive, masculine active, or to activate, and so. I got to be very aware of receiving what I was going to choose to receive from this experience of washing my face gently, intentionally, with softness and warmth, and then how I was going to put lotion on my legs from that same intention, practicing warmth. Because I know for a fact, before I started to learn these concepts around the divine sacred feminine and sacred masculine as well, that warmth was something that I really got to practice. But once I figured it out, I loved it. I love to feel it for myself, and I love to express warmth to others. In fact, even still to this day, I have uh one of those minky couture blankets that's so soft, and I will go and warm up my flaxseed bag and the microwave, and then I will just lay it on my bed and I'll let it just fit right into the curvature of my spine, like right down my spine, and then I'll lay with that soft, and it feels warm because that it I'm I'm feeling warmth from my flaxseed bag, and just sink into that, and it's just it's so amazing to be able to just feel that in a lot of different layers and levels, and so when we think about warmth, it is super fun to play with and get curious about, and I would invite you to try some of the things that I was invited to try when I was learning about these ideas and concepts because it was really eye-opening to me and very intriguing to go, wow, this is how you experience warmth. And I have I have a better point of reference that when with intention I can walk into a room and I can say to myself, Marnay, warmth, practice, be, embrace, and embody warmth. And it's so fun to watch how other people respond to that. It's I would just invite you to get curious about it and really try that and see the different responses to people, to you to people, and people to you when you are really present and intentional about experiencing, embracing, embodying the concept of warmth.
Guided Warmth Invocation Meditation
SPEAKER_01And here's some other words again, and we're gonna end this podcast with a what we call an invocation. And to invoke means to call in or to call upon. And when used in a meditation, invocation is a technique with which you can summon any type of energy or quality to come to you. So we're gonna we're gonna practice this. So close your eyes and relax deeply. Doing this type of preparatory meditation, you can add some grounding or running energy or opening energy centers, or simply going to a very beautiful, sacred, sacred sanctuary that feels relaxing to you. And begin breathing deeply for a while. As you breathe in, notice the temperature of the air as you breathe in. And as you breathe out, notice what you hear in your ears. As you begin to feel more and more relaxed, say to yourself silently, yet firmly and clearly, I now call forth the quality of warmth. Feel the energy of warmth coming to you, feel warmth coming out from someplace inside of you, filling you up and radiating out from you. Remain there for a few minutes. Totally experiencing the feeling of warmth. Then if you wish, direct it toward any particular goal through visualization and affirmation. You may want to add the words of softness, serenity. Or creativity to your word, warmth. Simply create a strong, clear statement to yourself that is this quality coming to towards you now. Another wonderful way to use the power of invocation is to summon the essence of a particular person who has that quality of warmth, that you that person that you know, and you have been in their presence and you have felt of their warmth, you can invoke that learning from that person. Perhaps it's Buddha or Christ or Mary. You're calling the essence of their warmth to flow in and around and among you. Take a big deep breath in. Relax into it, embrace it. Notice how you would treat yourself in the principle, the characteristic, the value, the quality of warmth.
SPEAKER_02How would you talk to yourself? How would you talk to others? How would you treat yourself? How would you treat others?
SPEAKER_01This specific kind of meditation works so beautifully when there's a special quality, skill, or talent that you wish to cultivate, to embody, to embrace. Taking a big deep breath in again one more time and really letting that experience land. And then put your hands up to your heart and say the word warmth three times. Literally imagining that this whole experience has been able to originate in your heart center and offers a complete experience for you that comes from the heart. Well, this has been really fun, and I hope that you found this podcast really interesting, somewhat exciting and intriguing, and has given you something to think about and ponder, and then perhaps get curious about that meditation and practice it and see what you experience, especially when you embrace that quality and that characteristic, and then you uh get very curious and experiment with what happens, with you showing warmth to yourself, and then you allowing warmth to come from you to someone else.
