Welcome And The Core Shift

SPEAKER_00

Hello and welcome to Flourishing Femme. I'm Marnae Boca, and I am here to talk to you about the topic that I have chosen for today, which is let's take that journey from the very mental brain activity and drop down into our heart and more into our body. That is where we are able to be more localized and align with our divine feminine because when we're more in our head and more analytical and more of that left brain, you know, dot the I's, cross the T's, all that kind of very attention to details type of thing, we're gonna talk about how taking that journey from our head to our heart can actually help put us more in the divine feminine essence and be in that space that we can move through life with a little bit more grace and flow because our body is where you know there's a book out there called The Body Keeps the Score, and it it does keep the score as far as even our emotions and our trauma and a lot of our um things that can keep us stuck. Uh you've probably seen a lot of articles and perhaps Instagram reels and that kind of thing about how we as women really tend to carry a lot of our stress in our hips and our shoulders and in our stomach, you know, if we've got that extra little tire around our waist. That's from a lot of things that we hold in our body. And so as we can take that journey from that very mental

How Stress Lives In The Body

place and drop down into our hearts and into our body, that's where we're gonna start to really feel a difference in the way we represent ourselves, present ourselves, and walk our walk in the divine feminine. So I was listening to an interview the other day, and it was about it was a gentleman that was talking about how he could actually tell when women were more aligned with their feminine, and that he had a lot of friends that were working to get in their alignment with their feminine. And what he noticed most was how they carried themselves, how they took up space, how they walked, how they their body language was different, how they expressed themselves through um their ability to just walk into a room and present a body language expression that just seemed more in alignment with warmth and flow and playfulness and all of those characteristics that I've talked about a lot in past podcasts. And he also mentioned how that when women are there, it invites men to take that journey from their very mental space, analytical, that kind of thing, down into their bodies and put them into a more reflective place and a responsive instead of a reactive space, and into a place that wanted to be more of a container or a protector provider because the women are softer and more approachable and uh more believable and even authentic and in alignment with who they truly are. I was like, that's really cool that like I heard this even from a man that said, This is what I've noticed about my friends and the women that I surround myself with, which ones have done a lot of their own inner personal work and you know worked on their uh shadow self and their trauma, but primarily what they're doing to in their bodies to activate more of the divine feminine essence. So this is what that can look like.

What Feminine Alignment Looks Like

SPEAKER_00

When we drop down into our heart space or even into our womb space, which is that hip area, first and second chakra, that kind of thing, we actually have um more hip movement when we walk instead of very rigid movement and unable to uh like have a feeling of flow. So I have worked with a couple of ladies that that we've worked on this actual thing, and when they go to walk across the room, their hips are very um tight and they're not moving, and they it seems like they're walking more like a man, and so just working on those types of things to help loosen up the hips and be more aware of what's of what's going on in their body. So I think of how beautiful Hawaiian dancers are and how they move their hips and their hands, and the way that they express themselves through their kind of cultural dancing. It's so beautiful, and there's so much flow and elegance and grace, and that's a really like huge contrast in our culture, where a lot of times, even when we go to exercise, it's kickboxing and steparobics and you know, a lot of that really high energy, more aggressive type of exercise. But you know, as of lately, a lot more women are participating in yoga. There's actually a yin yoga that you can participate in. Breath work is becoming really popular. That's a really good way to get into your body, be aware of your breathing, noticing where you hold the tension. There's a lot of talk out there about um pelvic floor exercises and how out of balance we are in that realm in our in our in our pelvic floor area. And so there's one thing that I like to encourage,

Hip And Shoulder Practices For Flow

SPEAKER_00

and that is definitely that moving of the hips and relaxing into the shoulders and opening up, relaxing those shoulders, and literally imagine opening your heart. Shoulders back, head up, breathing deeply, and then just taking some attention and focus to your hips. That is my invitation for today. Is one thing that I encourage my clients to do is to act like you're standing in a barrel and that you're gonna circle your hips around the barrel, letting the hips touch the inside of the barrel, and then you're behind, like you're trying to draw a circle around the inside of the barrel, and then go the other way, and really get those hips moving, and another one is laying on the floor and putting your knees up, and just do the windshield wiper stuff and loosen up those hips, and I I even do this one with them a lot, is just practice walking, imagining that your hips are flowing from side to side, and with that you feel a sense of flow. In fact, I would encourage like taking some sort of dance lessons in you know, Hawaiian dancing or belly dancing, or there's a lot of uh really great dance classes that you can take that encourage the strengthening and the building of your divine feminine. The one I specifically like to use, I do in the water, and we just do very feminine flowing movements in the water, and then I create the contrast by creating very um very intentional long lever power movements in the water so that they can really feel the difference of how their body is moving in the supportive or resistance of the water. With the masculine, the water is your resistance, so you're pushing against

Dance And Water As Teachers

SPEAKER_00

it, pulling against it, you're using it as your resistance. But when I switch to the feminine movement in the water, the water is the supportive, nurturing element that it can be as you flow and do very circular motions through the water. So when I go out into nature and I'm walking, I will do um like more power walking for a little ways, but then when I really want to settle in and do more feminine even type of walking, I will go much slower and with more of move a movement in my hips and a flow and a sway back and forth. And again, with my my chest open, ready to receive, with a receiving of um allowing your heart to be seen and revealed and acknowledged, and that it's a very powerful part of you, because it's the heart center where we literally want to uh live from more because our heart is that love center, and that's going to actually activate more oxytocin if your heart feels open and receptive. So in nature, it's pretty easy to receive the healing and the guidance that nature naturally does for us. In fact, everything in nature is a healer, a teacher, or a messenger. And I really truly believe that. I'm trained in forest and nature therapy, and I absolutely know that nature can even be our therapist if we are given the correct invitations to go and engage with, with you know, the the waters in a beautiful creek that's flowing down a mountain or trees, rocks, even. I mean, it's a more than human world in nature when we take that time to just allow ourselves to engage in it from a very intentional perspective and goal. Anyway, so sometimes when I walk in nature, I do more of a power

Walking In Nature With Receiving

SPEAKER_00

walk. But then, ooh, when I want to settle in and get very focused with my breathing and my body and my heart, and think the words flow, grace, and sway. And then you just walk a little bit more slowly and you tap into your senses, so you notice the temperatures on your skin while you're walking, and this is tapping into sensuality, which is one of the divine feminine values and characteristics that we want to tap into. So as you're walking and you're swaying and you're moving those hips, you're breathing deeply down into your womb space, opening the heart, and beginning to notice with your senses sight, sound, smell, and taste, temperature and texture. Okay, so you're walking, you're flowing, you're swinging your arms, you know, not not in an aggressive way, but in a flowing way. And it can be slow and very graceful, and at the same time you're listening. What do you hear? What do you hear up close and what do you hear off in the distance? What do you smell? Do you smell the fresh air? Do you smell the pine? Do you smell the dirt? Dirt, by the way, has natural antidepressants uh properties to it. Just an FYI. And then what do you see? What do you see up close to you? What do you see moving? Like do you see the movement of the leaves on the trees? Do you see movement of birds? Do you sometimes see butterflies or caterpillars or movement of grass? So noticing what you hear, noticing what you see, noticing the colors. Okay? So you're tapping into your senses, and that's very much getting you into your body. Your eyes, your ears, your taste, your smell, your textures, your temperatures. That's very mu that is a very good way to bring you into your body, which is definitely acknowledging and aligning you more with the divine feminine. A lot less in your head. You know, thinking about all the have to, need to, ought to, shoulds, and the, you know, to-do list and what am I going to accomplish today?

Senses As A Somatic Anchor

SPEAKER_00

Who do I need to call? Those kinds of things. Okay. So it's about being in about a being in your presence and in the present. Aligned in that divine feminine flow and essence. And then you begin to allow yourself to just take in the temperature. Notice what the temperature is on your skin that is exposed. And what's the temperature of your skin that is covered? And so you're just you're really tapping into those senses and watching the flow of your walk and presence. And this is an invitation I'm I'm offering to help you practice and embody because you want it to begin to just come naturally. You want to develop a neuropathway that has that learning and that embodiment that really literally formed within you. A new neuropathway to be present, to notice what's going on in your body, to drop your shoulders, relax your jaw, breathe deeply, open up your heart center, and notice your walking. Swaying back and forth, arms slightly swinging. And you can just use words. When you use certain words, your body will kind of want to take on the essence and the frequency and vibration of that word, because words really do have their own frequency and vibration and their own description and definition to your body and to your intelligence. And so when you say the word flow, grace, movement, essence, it's like you're nurturing the it's like you're nurturing your body with your movement. And then the word receiving. We've talked about receiving because you what you're doing is you're literally at allowing your body

Words That Train New Pathways

SPEAKER_00

to receive the nurturing and the nourishment from Mother Nature. And there's a lot. Trees give off what we call phonytes, which is a natural cortisol inhibitor. And there's just so much nurturing and nourishing that Mother Nature can do for you as you are in it. And you're allowing it and you're choosing to receive it. And and your intention is to focus on the nurturing of the colors, the nurturing of the fresh air, the nourishment and nurturing of the of the messages that the that the different things in nature have for you. Because they do. Rather you know it consciously or not. There is an element of nourishment and nurturing that you do get from Mother Nature, not to mention the grounding that you experience when you're out in nature. And so this is something I'm just offering as a pretty much the whole podcast is an invit invitation to embrace and embody the ability to be able to drop from the very mental, mental, analytical, crossing the T's, dotting the I's, the to-do lists, thinking about them, thinking about what's next on the agenda, what's next on the project, what all the things you're wanting to accomplish that day. Choose out of that. And you're gonna drop into the body and allow yourself to just experience your walk in nature with your senses and with your movement. Sometimes you can even try to mimic the flow and the sway of the little leaves in some pretty aspen trees or movement of the grass just from a slight breeze. That's what you want your body to move like.

Nature Therapy And Nervous System Relief

SPEAKER_00

Not dopamine, but oxytocin, which is a far better hormone to help us regulate, and to be able to get a body learning, a somatic body learning of the embracing of those divine feminine qualities and characteristics and step into that archetype. So I am done for today. I appreciate you joining me, and I do invite you to check out my website at awakenedacademy.io. Make sure it's io, not.com.
