Melinda’s story is anything but typical. From owning an interior design business in Scottsdale to running restaurants in Seattle, her path eventually led her back to senior living in a powerful full circle moment. What started in the 1980s with a desire to find better housing for her grandmother turned into developing four independent living communities across Phoenix and Sun City. Her mission was simple create spaces that felt vibrant welcoming and truly like home.
Years later, that same passion was reignited when helping her own mother transition into a senior living community. What she witnessed was transformational. Moving in at 88, her mother not only adjusted she thrived. With access to social opportunities fitness programs and a supportive environment, her health improved her confidence grew and her world expanded in ways that reshaped what aging can look like.
In this episode, Melinda shares the powerful differences between outdated perceptions of senior living and what is possible today. She brings insight into what truly matters when choosing a community and why environment connection and design play such a critical role in quality of life.
