REACH OUT ON THE HAUNTLINE!

We're back at the gorgeously haunted Kate Shepard House for Part 2, and this time, it's go time. You've already walked the halls with me in Part 1 and heard Damian drop some serious history tea. Now, we're taking you along for the actual investigation—yes, the real ghost hunt. No reenactments. No dramatic voiceovers. Just us, our gear, our questions, and a whole lot of strange activity we did not expect.

In this episode, we're peeling back the veil in real-time. We set up multiple mics overnight, left them rolling in different parts of the house, and let's just say... we caught some things.

Weird things.

But don't worry, it's not all bumps in the night and weird whispers. There are laughs, there are theories, there are moments where one of us may or may not yell "nope!" and leave a room entirely. (Hurricane 👀🤣)

Think of this episode as if we rented a haunted B&B and actually brought you with us. It's haunted hospitality at its finest, with ghosts, giggles, and just the right amount of existential dread. Let's dive back in, ghoulies!!

SPEAKER_08

Oh, is that him?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

That was weird, Santa.

SPEAKER_01

Welcome to the Real Ghosts of Podcast, where we explore haunted locations in and around Austin, Texas. We're your hosts Nicole Ricardo and Damien Shelacey.

SPEAKER_10

Listen along as we couple in-depth historical research and paranormal investigative techniques with a sixth sense of the unknown.

SPEAKER_01

So this goddamn cabinet behind me keeps opening.

SPEAKER_10

Yes, it has kept opening. If people have followed along, they know what do they know yet on RGO, or we just talked about it on Parapeculior?

SPEAKER_01

I think we talked about it on there too. Because it happened, we recorded the Haunted Hush Puppies episode, and then we recorded an RGO episode back to back, and the fucking cabinet kept opening.

SPEAKER_10

Yes, and there's a reason. There's a certain item in there that we think's doing it. It has not opened like this ever, ever. Literally. Just recently.

SPEAKER_01

So that's weird, I guess.

SPEAKER_10

That's weird. That's weird. And there is more of those adventures, so you know, follow along on our Patreon, I guess.

SPEAKER_00

Uh yeah, if you wanna, I don't know, get fucking haunted too, I guess.

SPEAKER_10

That's a great way to get people to join us, right? You too can be haunted. And I well, I guess actually the people that would want to hang out with us are they're the type that would see that as a well, yeah, they're wanting to fuck around and find out.

SPEAKER_01

That's why they are in the Patreon fucking around and finding out and coming over for family fucking seance night.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, gotta love family fucking seance night. Speaking of fucking around and finding out, um we're gonna dive into the the investigation part of this.

SPEAKER_01

Um the Kate Shepherd House.

SPEAKER_10

But let's um, you know, something I was thinking about literally just seconds ago, is while you could consider this uh an investigation, right? It uh we went about this in a different way. And we've actually started going about investigations in kind of a new way, um, an evolved way, I guess I should say. So a lot of this was Nicole's walk and taking some time to sit down with some of the devices that we used, excuse me, into a session.

SPEAKER_03

But there isn't a bunch of the Godfall.

SPEAKER_10

We we were using the Godfog, but there wasn't, you know, a bunch of um I don't know, it it felt a little bit different, and maybe it will for you too. Um, but a lot and a lot of really interesting stuff happened.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I mean to your point of of the investigation, I feel like it was just more of an us investigation. Like it's how we typically investigate. Like one of the things that I don't know we necessarily say often enough is this is not just alright, we need to go somewhere haunted because we need to record a podcast episode and let's go do this investigation. Like we live in a house that is haunted. Uh, the entire haunted museum is currently in said house. We often will come sit up here and do investigations. Sometimes we live stream them, sometimes we don't. But when we are investigating, just you and I, you know, I I think we've really gotten back to a place of I mean, we've always said we're not those people that are going in, dragging in, you know, uh, like five cases of equipment and gear, you know, we are very much more using our own bodies as the devices, you know, but when we're not, typically really what we're using is, you know, spirit box headphones, radio, some sort of combination of these.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, and we do come in with gear, obviously. It's always uh it's weird stuff, and it's always kind of adding and subtracting different things that we use or whatever, but it always revolves around these weird sort of uh ideas that we have on this. But you know, it we do, it's it's funny that you mentioned that. People that listen to this and they hear these investigations, those are not like yeah, we do those and we do episode investigations, but I would say we investigate what you would call investigators all the time. I mean, we're all the time doing experiments.

SPEAKER_01

Well, yeah, and I mean we have shit happen all the time. Like we have a paranormal log book downstairs, but so much shit happens. First of all, we end up forgetting about half of it, but we definitely forget to record all of it. Like it is, I mean, it's literally just our normal lives. So, anyway, all of that to say is this, you know, investigation in quotes, which I mean it was, but it it definitely felt more like how we used to do it.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, and interestingly enough, um, some of the things that are gonna happen during this, uh, you know, you're not gonna get the big loud bangs on the walls, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Um, nobody's getting scratched, nobody's getting slapped in the face.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, I mean, but you what you are gonna get is something that we always encounter in these investigations, which is uh a problem with electronics. Usually, and anyone that does this knows that uh batteries die.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_10

Right. Um lights flicker, lights flicker and everything else. The batteries dying thing is is always interesting, and and we have our own thoughts on that, but uh I think our thoughts and theories were solidified on this time because the batteries were not dying on our devices.

SPEAKER_01

Well, there was they were turning off it took it don't don't let the cat have a bat yet. Let's let them experience it. Yes. Um yeah, there were there was manipulation of electronic devices in a way that I mean we have never experienced before. And obviously we'll talk about this more deeply after y'all hear it. But I think the thing to note is I mean, you hear it kind of happen in the investigation, it's something that occurs, whatever. I think it would be something that would be very easy to gloss over, you know, and just be like, oh, that happened. But when you sit there and you actually think about what just happened and how it even could have occurred, I mean, honestly, I think it's probably one of the most mind-fucky things that we've ever experienced.

SPEAKER_10

I think so too. And we will uh we won't be left the cat of the bag. We'll we'll we'll play uh some of that uh investigation, and then we're gonna talk about what's interesting that hopefully you pick up on before we even talk about it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and so this investigation, you know, like we kind of mentioned last time, we're road tripping to Florida, okay? Because I have rehearsals to get to. And so we had left super early in the morning, and we didn't want to be up, you know, all night. So this was not a we are literally up all night investigating, right? That would have been unsafe. Um, so what you are about to hear honestly is the majority of the investigation. You know, I splaced a couple things out here and there just for the sake of brevity, but primarily what you are about to hear pretty much is the entire investigation. And when we get into it, you'll hear us using the Echo Vox app. We have that on, among some other things, you know, the white noise. I think you had the detuned radio, I don't know. Um, the God phone, which we're calling it, which do you want to? I I don't remember if you fully explained it.

SPEAKER_10

Well, we can do that. Let's let's get into this, they'll hear it. It's not, it's you know, and then we'll talk about everything because there's something that I want to point out in this that make this really profound. And and one quick cliffhanger before we do it is to your point, Nicole, about how this is pretty much the entire investigation. Well, yes and and sort of no, because the way that we end the investigation is well, we go to bed and we leave recorders on all night. Oh yes, we'll get to that. We're gonna get to that. That's wild. So um let's do this.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and the the echo box I do also want to point out though. So the reason I'm leaving this mostly intact is because I also want to present this information for y'all to listen to and see what you hear. Because with the the echo box and the radio and the white noise and all of these things going, you know, you're getting um, so the echo box we're talking about, it's an app, you're getting these little speech fragments of like ah it yeah, you know, and it the theory is it can put together words, form words. So you'll hear us throughout kind of call out some of the things we're hearing or think we're hearing. But dude, when this stuff is happening, like there's so many things coming through, we're absolutely not able to hear everything. And even when we go back and listen back, there's always gonna be things that we don't capture because we're kind of like desensitized to a level, you know what I'm saying? Because we're there, we're listening, we're re-listening, right? And the amount of times that we've gotten emails from people and DMs being like, oh my god, if you listen to this episode at this time mark, we hear blah blah blah, you know? And I'm like, oh shit, I didn't even fucking hear that.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, and it is worth noting too, because you mentioned that we're using the Echo Box. There's one thing in there that we were using, or I guess attempting to use this time around, which was of course SPI, which is something we've talked a lot about, and you're gonna hear an interesting sort of interaction with that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, with those two apps specifically.

SPEAKER_10

Okay, so yeah. Uh so we'll talk more about this, but um let's let's dive into it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let's just let's just listen. Let's get investigating, kids.

SPEAKER_08

Tentatively called the uh the God phone. We're gonna see if this will be helpful. It's um got a few things that we use. It's got two uh detuned radio receivers, which are just essentially letting in random RF frequencies. It's got a rotovate diode, which is essentially a crystal radio set just letting in frequencies. Um it's using this hidden frequencies device, which is just picking up any electromagnetic energy in the environment and converting that to sound. Um all of that is plugged into this speaker, and I also have this telephone that is a microphone that sits on top of the box. Beyond that, I'm using what's called an echo box. It is an app that just spits out gibberish noises that are human speech like. Um so that's what you're hearing. If you hear any kind of words come through that, that's compelling because there are no words. It does not have a word bank, it just spits out these random speech patterns to hopefully let these things um make contact, a way for them to communicate. Alright, here we are. First off, I just want to say this is a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful home. And we are really appreciative that you or let us hang out with you tonight. Was that you that has been doing those taps down here? Can you do that tap again? You've done it a couple of times tonight. Look up You're not gonna do the water apportation for us, are you?

SPEAKER_01

Do not do that, it's too late.

SPEAKER_08

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

No. I don't want to be calling the owner. Waking them up.

SPEAKER_08

I'm scratching around. Well, you also have this phone here if you want to talk into this and communicate.

SPEAKER_09

Did we hear you upstairs walking around? Did Nicole hear you?

SPEAKER_02

Sure, yes. Can you say it again? Did you wanna ask?

SPEAKER_01

Did I hear you scratching around upstairs? Yes.

SPEAKER_08

Yep. Well, thank you for answering that.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Did you like Hurricane coming and saying hello to you?

SPEAKER_04

I did.

SPEAKER_02

You did?

SPEAKER_01

Definitely. He's Hurricane's sitting right here with us. You wanna say hi right now? Do you want to say hi to him?

SPEAKER_02

I think it's yeah, you can say hi right now all you want.

SPEAKER_08

Can you I think you did say hi? It seemed like you made him very happy upstairs.

SPEAKER_01

Well it seemed like we might have made him a little scared, which I'm sure you weren't trying to do. But he's a very sensitive boy.

SPEAKER_02

Did you try to say accident just now though?

SPEAKER_03

Like you didn't mean to wonder.

SPEAKER_05

You can try to use it.

SPEAKER_07

Do you like this device?

SPEAKER_08

Then do a session just letting the house sort of ambient noise talk. I think it just said talk, yes. So I think I just heard you say talk when I was communicating what I was gonna do.

SPEAKER_01

I did.

SPEAKER_08

You did? W would you be able to make that tap again that you've done now twice in the by the stairs?

SPEAKER_06

We really, really love the energy of your home and would love to communicate with you.

SPEAKER_08

Is that you messing with the hidden frequencies?

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

I think one says C thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Are you showing us that you can speak different languages? Did you learn that here in school?

SPEAKER_08

Did you attend school here in this home? I think you said yes.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't this is Hurricane.

SPEAKER_09

You remember Hurricane? You can also talk under this phone. We can hear you through the speaker. I'm hearing Stephen a lot again. Is our friend Stephen with us? Did you hit a ride with us, Stephen, all the way to Alabama? Well, if you're here, I hope you're nice to the residents at home. Would you like Nicole to briefly play that beautiful piano that you have here?

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_09

I think I thought it said I love it. Or uh-huh.

SPEAKER_01

I heard uh-huh.

SPEAKER_09

You like that? And now that's well. Do you do you like music? Do you want Nicole to play for you?

SPEAKER_02

What is are you doing that?

SPEAKER_01

Everything's popping off.

SPEAKER_09

Okay, she's gonna go sit at that piano.

SPEAKER_06

If you want her to play, just let us know, and she'll she'll be happy to do that for you. But she she is a a great musician, so you have to give her a request. You can just tap, you can say yes, let her know that you want her to play, if you like that too.

SPEAKER_07

Is that what it said? Will you go play?

SPEAKER_03

Please keep in mind I'm a flute player, okay? Not a pianist.

SPEAKER_06

She's a wonderful piano player.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_08

Is there anyone online with me here that can talk to me? I'd really love to communicate with all the beautiful energy in this house.

SPEAKER_10

Well, Nicole's gonna start playing piano for you.

SPEAKER_08

Hopefully you let us know that you like it.

SPEAKER_09

You like that vibration?

SPEAKER_01

Dang it, the D doesn't play.

SPEAKER_08

I thought I heard who is that? That's Nicole playing the piano. What do you think? We are so excited to have this entire house with you tonight by ourselves.

SPEAKER_06

And I hope I get to meet you.

SPEAKER_09

Did you like that music that Nicole played?

SPEAKER_02

Did did you like that? I think she's pretty good.

SPEAKER_01

Could be better. Sure fucking could be.

SPEAKER_08

Uh Nicole, if you'd like to speak into the uh the god phone here and ask a question, I think that would be you want to hear Nicole's wonderful voice come through the phone? Are you on the line?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I saw some papers around here that are having to do with a music school. Was there was somebody taking music lessons here?

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_01

Not did you take music lessons somewhere else?

SPEAKER_08

Would you prefer if we did a session with you without the echo box and just try to talk to you? Yeah, okay. We're gonna try that. Um we'll do a last session to wrap up and we'll just use none of this actually.

SPEAKER_10

And we'll see if we can talk to you.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, bye. I think yeah. I'm just gonna throw this teabag out.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, good boy. Good boy, yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, that's a good boy. Follow me. Good boy.

SPEAKER_08

Alright, this is now just a session without the um echo box. But we do, I'm gonna use this because this is something that we've not used on the podcast before. And we've just started using it. This is a new app that's come out called SPI, Spirit Phone Innovations.

SPEAKER_01

I actually I thought of this when we first started this session. I was like, shit, we should have had that running when I was doing my walk.

SPEAKER_10

Fair enough. Fair enough. So I'm gonna start.

SPEAKER_02

Hello, is there anyone that can hear me and would like to communicate.

SPEAKER_05

That was hurricane.

SPEAKER_01

I'm seeing the like, and I you know I pretty rarely see things like physically with my eyes. I'm seeing the fucking the energy. You know, the like the wavy lines that looks like you know, heat off paintment.

SPEAKER_09

It's worth noting it's like 55 degrees in here.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, it's not that. But the interesting thing is here you're gonna get a kick out of this. It's literally like on the carpet, like right behind your chair.

SPEAKER_09

Is that you? Are you behind me?

SPEAKER_02

Are you behind me right now?

SPEAKER_03

And it went away.

SPEAKER_09

Were you shy? That was not Hurricane that that did that shuffling, just is that did you hear that?

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm. He's laying here.

SPEAKER_09

Was that what you the way that you described the sound upstairs? You said it was like shuffling paper?

SPEAKER_04

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_02

Also, is this you that's not allowing the uh my app to pick me up?

SPEAKER_08

That's not so I have to it just turned the echo box on without me doing anything. I'm in this app.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I hit it. I literally see it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Did you do that? Did you turn that app on?

unknown

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_09

I've I've never I've never seen anything like that happen ever.

SPEAKER_01

I don't even know that that's possible. Like technologically, like how like you're in another app right now.

SPEAKER_08

Yes, and you heard that it was not going before it had stopped.

SPEAKER_01

It was off.

SPEAKER_08

And then just started, like right here.

SPEAKER_02

You stopped it or you started it. Were you were you behind me just now and Nicole could see you?

SPEAKER_07

Certainly?

SPEAKER_02

Well, we appreciate that. What is your name? If what should we call you? Like L?

SPEAKER_01

Well, that almost sounded like you'll have to listen back, but right after you asked it sounded like two different voices, but saying Catherine.

SPEAKER_02

Really?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Cat. Yeah. Catherine, is that a name I should call you?

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_07

That was a really profound yes.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, I'm gonna stop. Well, I don't want I'm not gonna stop this because you did turn this app on.

SPEAKER_04

Turn it.

SPEAKER_02

Pet?

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_09

You want a pet hurricane or he's the pet?

SPEAKER_04

He's the pet.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna have to listen back to that, but I think he's the pet.

SPEAKER_01

I think there's a lot in here that we're not even catching. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

You you turn this app back on for us. So I know you have something to say. Can you try to let us know?

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_01

I know there's probably a little bit of a learning curve with this, but did you turn that app on because Yeah.

SPEAKER_08

Okay, Catherine. Was it Catherine that turned it on?

SPEAKER_06

Catherine, are you who we heard upstairs?

SPEAKER_08

Are you a little shy to come around if we're up there? Or are you waiting for us to go to sleep?

SPEAKER_07

What are those give me a what? Was it all right?

SPEAKER_10

This is what we're gonna do. I'm gonna stop this. We're doing one last session for the evening because we do want to take some time just sort of listening?

SPEAKER_01

I was literally about to say live here with you, and it said with you. Like as I was thinking it.

SPEAKER_08

You want yep. Yeah, you want us to stay here with you?

SPEAKER_03

Please, please, please.

SPEAKER_02

Can you okay?

SPEAKER_01

Well, listen, bros, we're happy to stay here with you. But here's the thing. What? I know that you're apparently adept at apporting things. We have to pay to be able to stay here. So if you would like us to stay here with you, you can outport some money to us. Yes, I'd like it. It was about $150, I think.

SPEAKER_05

Cash, not water. We'll stay with you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, if you can outport $150.

SPEAKER_09

And no crypto.

SPEAKER_01

No. In our room, though. It has to be in the bedroom that we're staying in, so that way we know it's for us. Who?

SPEAKER_02

I think it said who? Her. Can you say one thing?

SPEAKER_01

We'll come back through here on our own.

SPEAKER_02

If you pay for our stay, we're here as many times as you want. Stay. Can you say one of our names? One of our three's names?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Hurricane? Nicole.

SPEAKER_02

Did you say those names just now?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And when you were talking, when you were saying that, like the end of it, it sounded like it said Damien.

SPEAKER_09

It was like a fragmented. I know my name's harder to say. If you could say my last name, that would be very impressive.

SPEAKER_07

I heard parler vous. We're going to be.

SPEAKER_03

We wee and God, you haven't done that in a while.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

What did you think of Nicole's piano playing?

SPEAKER_01

Bad.

SPEAKER_02

Did you say hurricane again?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I imagine not a lot of people bring their dogs here like this. Do you like how friendly he is?

SPEAKER_08

Oh. Maybe when he was in the hallway. Is that why you kind of ran away and he was looking in the room?

unknown

Hi.

SPEAKER_10

Okay. I know that you like this app.

SPEAKER_08

I am going to turn it off though. And listen, if you end up turning it back on, I will never not use it again. But I want to give this a shot without the echo box to give you a different avenue to come through.

SPEAKER_07

Is that going to be okay? Okay, I'm stopping it now. It's done.

SPEAKER_01

You've stopped it, you've closed out of the app.

SPEAKER_07

It stopped, closed out of the app. And again, if you turn that back on, I will never not use it again.

SPEAKER_08

But right now I just have some white noise going for you. Can you let us know that you can hear us trying to communicate with you?

SPEAKER_10

Open up?

SPEAKER_03

I heard that too.

SPEAKER_08

That sounded like you were really trying to come through. Was that you? Should we be worried about this weird phenomenon that's been happening around our Bellwitch episodes of the podcast? Alright, last round, we're going for three minutes. You have been so super responsive down here. You turning on that other Echo Box app was pretty wild. So thank you. Can you just let us know if you're here? I'm gonna let this run and let this microphone record and give you time to just come through if you'd like.

SPEAKER_05

That was music outside.

SPEAKER_08

If I design a method around the three six nine theory, yes or no?

SPEAKER_05

Would that be a viable thing to try? What about binary or Morse code? Will that help me connect with you? Sounds like you're messing with the detuned a little bit.

SPEAKER_06

Is that you?

SPEAKER_05

Thirty seconds and we will end this session for the evening. Okay. Thank you for putting up with us doing this.

SPEAKER_08

Thank you for allowing us into your beautiful home. And thank you for communicating. And we certainly hope. Huh?

SPEAKER_03

There was a tap.

SPEAKER_08

That was not you on the table?

SPEAKER_03

I'm not touching the table.

SPEAKER_08

Hopefully that was you saying you're welcome to me saying thank you. Were you hopefully you communic I mentioned Morse code, didn't I?

SPEAKER_04

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_05

That was me. You want to try back?

SPEAKER_10

Actually, you've tapped a lot tonight. Can you understand when we're trying to communicate with you? Tap once for yes, twice for no.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. Well, that will end our session tonight.

SPEAKER_10

Again, thank you. Um we hope that you've enjoyed uh talking with us. We hope to see you tonight when we're sleeping. Or hear you, I should say.

SPEAKER_09

Everything is good. I would brave the ghouls. I'm gonna brave right there. I would brave the ghouls to go get you a crystal burger.

SPEAKER_03

So that was some shit, huh?

SPEAKER_10

Well, that was and I'm hoping that for any of the listeners, you know, while you were listening to that, maybe even go back and listen um and tell us if you hear anything come through. But there's some very obvious points where w the thing that we were using, the echo box, seemingly was giving us some interesting responses.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and there were, you know, we listened to it again prior to, you know, spewing more words at you. And there were quite a few times where, you know, you hear us say on the thing, like, uh-huh, or yep, and you know, before we said it on the recording, we both look at each other and we're like, uh-huh. You know, so definitely I mean, whether or not you want to call it paradolia, as you point it out, you know, it's like, okay, well, we heard it now, we heard it then, so right.

SPEAKER_10

So that was good. So you can hear those things. Um, I really enjoyed the part where you're playing the piano.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because I just have to note, uh, for any other musicians that are listening, the uh D key, I believe, was not working, so I was not skipping a note. The key would not work.

SPEAKER_10

I believe that piano was it original in the house?

SPEAKER_01

Uh no, the well, you'll uh we asked the owner about it. I think I cut it out actually because it's not directly relevant. Um, but the prior owner, it was in her family, and somebody in their family had purchased it. I want to say she said like early 1900s, okay, but they just never had a place for it. Um, and somebody in their family, which I you hear me mention there, the music lessons, that was somebody in the previous owner's family. They just never had a home for it. But when they bought the Kate Shepherd house, um, she told us that they put it right there in that front window, and that is where it has stayed it. Seems like it was just made for it.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, well, regardless, it's a beautiful piano.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, it's an old Steinway.

SPEAKER_10

Old Steinway, and it's sitting in this this living room that's undescribable. Okay, so all the pictures are in our Patreon, so you can check that out. But uh if you could imagine like that beautiful piano playing going while we're trying to talk to these beings in this just gorgeous house, it was quite a quite a thing to be doing.

SPEAKER_01

It's a vibe. That's a vibe, sets a mood.

SPEAKER_10

Also, I'm jazzed right now. I just had a some more.

SPEAKER_01

A some more?

SPEAKER_10

Some more. S'more, some more, some more. S'mores. S'more. I had a well, not s'mores, I had a a s'more.

SPEAKER_01

A some more s apostrophe more.

SPEAKER_10

Us yeah. Well, it was great. I'm very, very happy. I just wanted to shout that out.

SPEAKER_01

I'm very happy for you. Congratulations. Warmest regards. XOXO. That's it, girl.

SPEAKER_10

What are your thoughts um on that? And then we are gonna do a down the rabbit hole and and and dive deeper, but just listening back to it, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Well, let's talk about the thing that we mentioned before, which, you know, on the down the rabbit hole, we can go a bit more in depth, but I just want to make sure that we fully paint this picture of when whatever the fuck this was switched the goddamn app so let's yeah on your iPad. I just want to paint this picture so people understand.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, because you couldn't really, when you're listening to it, you hear it happen, but if you it you probably wouldn't know what was going on unless you were there. All right. So paint that for us.

SPEAKER_01

So we were in what was it, the SPIP work? We're trying to get the SPI app to work, which shout out to our Sean Austin, and who created it. If you want to hear more about that, head over to Parapeculiar Podcasts. We did an interview with him talking about the whole thing, super interesting. Um, but anyway, so we're in that app trying to communicate. And I think before I think we had EchoVox on, then we put on SPI uh because you would ask, like, oh, do you want us to switch and try the other app, whatever? Uh, and we got a yes, so we're trying SPI. But then in the middle of trying SPI app, your iPad, mind you, the SPI app is still open. Okay, it's open on the screen of the iPad. Yeah. And then we start hearing the Echo Vox, the, you know, correct playing in the background. So while we are in an app, another app in the background of the iPad turns on and starts working.

SPEAKER_10

Well, and then right there in front of us, the SPI app goes away off the screen and the Echo Box comes up. And I'm like, whoa, it's on. And what's I want to be very apparent about this. So the way that this works, like if I have the SPI app up, I if I close it and then I hit the the button on the iPad, then I go to my app for Echo Box, then I have to do all these different settings, and then I have to hit start.

SPEAKER_01

Before it will even turn on.

SPEAKER_10

Correct. And then I have to hit start. So that was very interesting to me because what happened there is it didn't just open the app randomly. Okay, it started it as well.

SPEAKER_01

In the background, which is weird while another app was open. And yes, especially when you know, and this is you can even go check it out for yourself. If you get the EchoVox app, you have to, there's like a little notification that pops up when you even the open the app that asks whatever you have to click on. You have to title it.

SPEAKER_10

You have to title it, right?

SPEAKER_01

And then you have to like click the settings that you want, and then you have to hit start. So there's multiple steps that you have to take before the Echo Vox app will even begin working.

SPEAKER_10

Correct. And it is worth noting that when we switched to the SPI app, uh, which is something that has been very interesting for us uh this time around, it was doing absolutely nothing. Just nothing was coming through.

SPEAKER_01

Which I do think is also worth noting because I think that that is something that lends a bit to the validity of it. I would say so. You know, because you're not just there have been many times where we've opened it and you just don't get anything.

SPEAKER_10

Right. And I think most apps that that you know Cole and I would not like, you know, they're always gonna be get responses. Like it's it's designed to do so.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Well, they're literally designed with sound banks. Right. Uh word banks.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, so that was wild. So for those that listened, that is what happened. It it literally, we started with the Echo Box, asked if we could try this. It said yes. We tried it, seemingly, for whatever reason, it was not working.

SPEAKER_01

They said, nah, I want that other app back.

SPEAKER_10

So they put it back for us. Now I want to hearken back again. I've been using that word a lot, hearken, but I want to go back to the fact and remember this. We told you to note it down that the iPad that we were using with these apps on it had been turned off. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

And this is also something that I had forgotten about until we were re-listening back to this is so yes, it started with your iPad being turned off.

SPEAKER_10

Which hold on, so an iPad to turn off. It wasn't like it was just on the black screen. I mean, no, but it was turned off. Like you have to hold the button down and slide the fucking thing. Yeah, it's turned off. It was turned off. I could understand that the battery died, but when I turned it right back on, the battery was not dead.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So that happened. And then the other thing that I re-heard listening back to this that we had forgotten about is you're trying to use that infrared body cam camera thing.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And that drained as well. And this is something.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, that's wild. That thing has such a battery life, it would make your head stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because it's literally something that like cops. Yeah, cops you. And so it's designed to have what I think you said, like a 24-hour battery life, or I don't know, something ridiculous, but it was fully charged. You go to turn it on before we even started investigating, and that completely drained as well.

SPEAKER_10

That battery was done. That's never happened with that.

SPEAKER_01

And then we have this wild manipulation of the electronics with these apps.

SPEAKER_10

Does get wilder.

SPEAKER_01

And then the Osmo turns off.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. So the Osmo uh is the video camera that we use.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we have a DJI Osmo Pocket 3.

SPEAKER_10

Which honestly, I they don't sponsor us or anything that they should. But um it's great. One of the greatest fucking things I've ever seen. I literally skeet all over the place when I'm using it. I just love it. I just love it.

SPEAKER_01

Hopefully, you will take all of the videos from this trip and turn it into a little vlog so we can post it for people.

SPEAKER_10

And this is gonna be in the Patreon. They can go check it out. But um so we love it. So yeah, it turned off uh as well. Like, not again, not the battery draining, but the it would just turn off.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it just turned off. And it was at the end of the investigation too. Like you even hear me say, like, you hear it, you hear this, like some electronic clicks. It's literally like the camera turning itself off. That's what you hear it doing, and then I'm like, well, like the ghost said you're done.

SPEAKER_10

And in case you're thinking that it's just an Osmo thing, we also uh at one point in the night, well, when we went to bed, we left one of our GoPros going, which was fully charged, in the hallway, and it the battery did not die, but it turned off. I left it recording and it just turned off.

SPEAKER_01

All right, that's a lot of weird electronic things.

SPEAKER_10

So back to the iPad, but because I I don't know if I'm jumping ahead, but we do need to say this as well because this happened. It was part of what I would call the investigation. When we went up to go to bed, the first thing is after the session that you just heard, we were done, we were going to bed. We leave a recorder, a digital recorder with an omnidirectional microphone, uh, a nice road omnidirectional microphone plugged into it. We leave it on the table there and we go upstairs.

SPEAKER_01

The dining room table that we had just been sitting up.

SPEAKER_10

Correct. And then when we go upstairs, the same thing happened with my iPad again. Do you remember? It turned off again.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, I don't remember.

SPEAKER_10

Yes, that's the thing. It happened multiple times while we were there, and then when the app switched. So look, me trying to be skeptical, right? I wanna I don't I know that we s always were like, oh, all this shit happens, but we try to be pragmatic.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, sure, but it's also at this point, it's like, dude, like I looked at the amount of times that this happened is just the turning off thing, uh, is not something that I found too many people.

SPEAKER_10

Now I did find people talking about other apps opening on their iPad, and interestingly enough, it's called iPad Ghost Touches, which apparently happens when uh your screen is is messed up, or but that happens in my car.

SPEAKER_01

But you've you've seen it happen in my car. But that's when that's happening, it's gonna happen on a more regular Well, that's the thing.

SPEAKER_10

So with this iPad specifically, it has not happened before or since.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that literally one-time occurrence. That's not those ghost touch like that happens in my car.

SPEAKER_10

Ghost touches would have opened the app, maybe, but it wouldn't then start the fucking thing when it opened Echo Box, it wouldn't just start it as well.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because that that requires multiple things. Other ghost touches, multiple things to occur.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, yeah. I don't know. I just especially with where we're at in terms of thinking about this stuff, and even, you know, we've talked before about like EVPs and how we think that that has more to do with, you know, whatever this is manipulating the actual electronic device to produce that sound versus I'm a ghost and I'm whispering into your microphone. Right? Like I it's just interesting. You know, we know across the field of paranormal, everybody knows that these things are known to like interfere with electronics, drain batteries, you know, flicker lights, turn things on and off, whatever.

SPEAKER_10

To be manipulating them like you're a person sitting there doing it is a bit different.

SPEAKER_01

Well, even well, that's the thing. We would not even be able to do that if you and I tried to do that and have the Echo Vox app turn on in the background while we are in another app. You cannot do that. That's not how iPads work.

SPEAKER_10

I don't know how any of this works. All I know is that, you know, it would be different for me, and I wouldn't make it a big deal if the app just opened up by itself. Um, but I start really making it a thing when it actually starts the app after opening it, after having been turned off randomly, right? And then also then seeing how it was turned off again in this house. So that's interest that's just so intricate. And that has never happened before or since.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I just think it's I don't know. I mean, I know we can say wild, profound, whatever, insert all the other cliche words here, right? But I mean it is. I just like when you actually sit there and think about it, like if you are a technology girly, you know what I'm saying. Like if you are in an iPad, and the thing is, like, the app started playing in the background before it even opened up. And you had the video camera running, so you can clearly see, you know, if you are like questioning, it is on video, neither one of us was touching the iPad. Yeah, that whole thing is video in the background of one app running, the Echo Vox starts playing.

SPEAKER_10

That's that's right.

SPEAKER_01

Like that literally, like iPads do not work that way. You cannot start another app without going into the app.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. And for those that were listening back to that and kind of wondering again, you know, feel free to listen back to it. See if you hear anything. Because what we're doing essentially with this Echo Vox, you've all heard us do the Estes method, right? With spirit boxes and whatnot. This is essentially kind of the same thing, right? It it's it's using this random noise and you're finding patterns. Now, there is the skeptic that's gonna say, well, that's what you're doing is finding patterns.

SPEAKER_01

But then we get to my favorite Harry Potter quote.

SPEAKER_10

Oh boy.

SPEAKER_01

Dumbledore.

SPEAKER_10

I I don't know the word.

SPEAKER_01

The one where he says, you know, well, just because it's happening all inside your head, Harry, doesn't mean it isn't real.

SPEAKER_10

I just know the quote when he was like, Oh fuck, I just got killed.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um Direct quote verbatim from the movie script.

SPEAKER_10

Oh fuck. Um no, so it is interesting, and and we like that app because of the fact that if you're hearing words in there, especially ones that you hear us react to on the recording, okay, and but you hear it before we react. I would dare say that's not necessarily a paradolia because it is uh there's no word banks in this app. You're just it's just this speech fragments. So you listen to it, you be the judge. We would love it if you would shoot us a a message uh or whatever and let us know if you heard something.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let us know what you hear. And there were a few times um when we were listening back too, I remembered that you know, there are times where we hear things come through and like you can tell, like it's it's more extended, right? You can tell it's trying to say something, but I can't quite make out what it says, you know? So yeah, any of those things that you hear. And that is why I wanted to leave that clip in a bit more fully intact, you know? And we did go back and forth a little bit even before we started recording this. Like, should we take some of this out, whatever? And you know, of course, sure, I can go through and splice out some of the uh, you know, spaces and whatever. But I also just for me personally, I'm like, I value transparency and I would rather it you you guys be able to hear like the full thing. And again, kind of going back to the like, I just want you to feel like you're there hanging out with us, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, versus it being, you know, every few seconds like splicing and splicing out spaces, and you know, I don't know, who fucking knows? Maybe y'all will hear something in one of those spaces that I'm splicing. Like that literally happened in um the Eden episode. There's a freaking EVP at the end of our seance of some bruv in the background saying, you know, we say bye, and then you hear him go, bye. I didn't fucking hear that. I could have spliced it out, and multiple people ended up catching it and sent it in. And I'm like, oh shit.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, and I think it's also worth noting that, you know, uh the only reason to splice it would be like for the content, for the gram, to make sure that it sounds like a good product. We're not product girlies, I guess, at the end of the day.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, this is we're just presenting our lives. We're just, I don't know. We are presenting the weird shit that we do. We are smart enough to know that we do not know everything. And I mean, we have neuro spicy brains, okay? Like more brains are better than one. So y'all catch shit that we don't catch all the time. So I we are presenting this research uh for you to also research alongside with us.

SPEAKER_10

Correct.

SPEAKER_01

Join the crew.

SPEAKER_10

The next part of the investigation, in my opinion, uh, is uh while we were asleep. Um honestly.

SPEAKER_01

Let's talk about it.

SPEAKER_10

Well, let's yeah, because I guess we have to talk about it first before playing it, don't we?

SPEAKER_01

Well, yeah. So you already said so you left a microphone and a recorder downstairs.

SPEAKER_10

So I personally, and I want to just give this out so people that are interested in this stuff, um for things like EVP work or for just recording the natural environment where, you know, uh during these things, I I like to use an omnidirectional microphone. This is uh a microphone that's going to be picking up from all around, not just like in the front, you know, like like these that we're talking into.

SPEAKER_01

Right. The podcast mics that we're talking into.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. So we left that downstairs, plugged it into a recorder, hit record.

SPEAKER_01

And this is just, you know, your standard run-of-the-mill handheld digital recorder, yeah, not the fucking Sony whatever that people are paying five thousand dollars for.

SPEAKER_10

Like just no, it's a handheld recorder, and I ran the XLR from the microphone. Uh, I have an XLR to 3.5 uh plug and and put that right into the the recorder. So then I hit record and we just went upstairs. And it's worth noting this recorder's got a hell of a battery dive because it does it all night.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and then we went upstairs and uh you set your GoPro in the hallway, which we know turns. Turned itself off. Very exciting. Um, but then in the bedroom, I kept our road mics, the little uh road go microphones. That's what we use when we're recording the investigations. I clipped mine onto uh the lamp on my nightstand. I clipped yours onto the lamp on your nightstand, and we went to bed.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. So I think I don't know what what should we play first? Uh audio from the downstairs mic?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I let's just talk about it because they're I'm just gonna play a few of the clips back to back um so they can get the kind of gist. But I mean the the gist is we were here and shit all fucking night on all of these microphones.

SPEAKER_10

Well, listen.

SPEAKER_01

So do you want to talk about yours since you listened to the downstairs one?

SPEAKER_10

Yes, I'm gonna s I'm going we're gonna play a few of those, okay, because uh the the entire recording is something like eight hours, right? Because you know, we we we went to sleep. Um and you can listen to the whole thing, and I think once this episode airs, I will just post the raw eight-hour recording in the Patreon so anyone that can hear it because it won't be all night. I'm not talking about small things, I'm talking about massive taps and footsteps and knocks that sound like they're happening right next to the microphone and and voices. Okay. Voices.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, it sounds like you hear people in the background, it sounds like somebody's like talking. And this is, I do also want to note because you made it a point to say, sounds like it's happening right next to the microphone now. Uh when we post this full thing, you will hear very quickly when you are going through and listening to audio. It's very easy to identify when a car is driving by. It's very easy to identify when there's, you know, I don't know, a little creak or a knock or something that might be at the house settling, but it sounds far away, right? Versus when you hear a knock or a tap or something that is like the footsteps though next to the microphone. Like you, there's a very clear difference when you are going through this audio, and you just you can tell, you can tell.

SPEAKER_10

But the footsteps that you'll hear, okay, those that sound literally like somebody walking or opening or shutting a drawer.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, which we did not in the same room. So what you're also gonna hear We went to bed and we did not get up.

SPEAKER_10

And I want to point this out for anyone that does ever get to listening to the complete raw audio of it. The raw audio, uh, I hit record and you hear us say, Okay, we're leaving this and we're going. So you hear us walking away and talking the whole time as we go up the stairs to the room, and then you hear us fade away, right? So I went back and forth and thought, could these things have been from us, blah, blah, blah. But you see at the beginning it's not.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I even compared it, you know, because I had the audio from the road mics. When we got up into the bedroom, there's I want to say 10 or 15 minutes of audio of us like talking, whatever, getting in bed. That's it.

SPEAKER_10

Really?

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_10

Really?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. And then we got in bed and we went to sleep.

SPEAKER_10

Because that was one thing that I did when I first listened back to this uh audio that was being recorded downstairs. I told Nicole, I said, we gotta listen to the road mic stuff because I need to know when we were scratching around. I need to know when we were talking. Yeah. Because I wanted to make sure that it somehow wasn't us, even if I didn't know how it was. But when you hear the audio from the downstairs, it sounds like other people were in the house, which we know that that that they weren't.

SPEAKER_01

So, okay, so we will play some of the clips now that the recorder that was downstairs captured.

SPEAKER_10

Okay, so we just played two little pieces there, and it's worth noting that we only played two of them because those sounds that you hear, those knocking sounds, uh will happen frequently throughout the night. But they're the same kind of thing. So we didn't want to play a bunch of that, right?

SPEAKER_01

Don't need to play, you know, 30 minutes of little knocks and taps and bangs for you.

SPEAKER_10

But you get the idea. And what I want you to pay attention to is when you listen to those, um, it sounds like it's happening either in the room where the microphone is, or maybe like in the next room, if that. Because this house was very open, right? Like into the rooms. Every room was just it was kind of open. So that was happening all night. It was these w kind of footsteps or bangs, or not bang, not bangs. They were like taps, knocks, or like opening and closing a dresser or drawer.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know.

SPEAKER_10

You don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Anomalous anomalous knocks and taps.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, so we played a couple clips on that, so you get the idea. That was happening literally all throughout the night. If you want to listen to the raw audio and hear how much it happened, uh, it'll be in our Patreon. Now the next clip is just to warn you is gonna be a little bit loud because as I was going through this audio, I picked up something that was sounding to me like a voice or a hum of some kind.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and there there was another clip too where you can kind of hear it almost sounds like some people talking in the background, but with the amplification, and you'll hear when we play this clip, like, uh, it's real, it's real loud. It does not sound good. And so it's like, I didn't want to play the other one because it's a bit longer. I'm not trying to like, you know, blow anybody's eardrums here, but you know, in order to hear it clearly, we had to turn the volume up.

SPEAKER_10

Well, we had to amp it up a little bit. Well, no, just the white noise in general. So you're gonna hear a lot of static, it's going to be very loud, okay. And I'm hoping that after the compression of everything when this episode comes out, you'll still hear it. But what you're gonna hear sounds very much Well, you know what? I won't front load you and then we'll say it when we play. So here it is. Okay, so if you listen to that, it is going to be very faint, even though we had sort of amplified it. And it took me listening through headphones for eight hours of audio to kind of hear this weird thing, and so I I dialed in on it, and there it was. And to me, it sounds like a hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. It's what it sounds like. It sounds like a woman's kind of like I don't know, hum voice, whatever you want to call it, but it sounds like a woman's voice to me.

SPEAKER_10

Yes, yes, and it's um it's worth noting that little anomalies like that are happening throughout the night, uh on this audio, but it'll all be kind of similar to that. So that was the most out of eight hours of audio for me, as far as voices go, that was the kind of the crazy one because it sounds like it's in the same room and it's this weird humming of a very female sounding tone. And I I went to you, didn't I? I said, Was this you and me talking upstairs?

SPEAKER_01

And and I I tried, I tried which is always a bit silly to me, to be honest, when you ask me those questions. Well, no, don't like uh fucking asleep upstairs. How was that me?

SPEAKER_10

You also would have heard me like walk down the stairs because I I I tried to be very pragmatic and I wanted to ask myself before I went to this is something interesting and weird, I wanted to go to could this have been us talking upstairs, right? But it no, that wouldn't have made sense. So what you're hearing there seemingly was happening right in that room, and when we talk about EVPs in general, any researcher of this stuff will tell you that oftentimes they are so faint that you have to know how to listen for them, right? And that's exactly what we have here because I know how to listen for them. That's a very clear hum from a woman. I think that's wild.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Uh so those were some downstairs noises. So upstairs with the road mics, and you want to note, uh, they did end up dying.

SPEAKER_10

That's right, they did, didn't they?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, both of the microphones, they did end up dying.

SPEAKER_10

The only other time that something weird's happened with the road mics was Hill House, wasn't it?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, when we tried leaving them on uh all night and it did record, it was on my phone, and then all of the files got deleted.

SPEAKER_09

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So anyway, um, so upstairs it was kind of similar, you know, where pretty much all throughout the entire night you're hearing little kind of anomalous noises, whatever you want to call them. So um I'm just gonna put a bunch of the clips kind of back to back for you. You can hear them. But the one that gets me, okay, is it sounds like a fucking zipper.

SPEAKER_10

Oh, you didn't.

SPEAKER_01

And I I even asked you because if you listen to it, you'll hear it, and it kind of sounds like something's like unzippering, like it sounds almost like as if you had gotten out of bed, like unzipped your backpack. And if you listen for a second, you know, it almost hears like somebody's kind of like, you know, like moving things around, or like it literally to me, like when I was listening to it, it sounded like you had unzipped your backpack and were looking around for something and trying to be very quiet so you didn't wake me up. You know, that's what it sounded like. However, yes, of course, I still asked you, but I also know logically, okay, if that had happened, you also would hear you get out of bed, you'd hear you, you know, kind of the footsteps going towards the backpack, you'd hear you getting back in bed. You don't hear any of that.

SPEAKER_10

You'd probably hear me then doing something like leaving the room if I was doing that. Plus, you would have waken up. Like I'm gonna say this right now on the podcast. It's impossible for me to get away with anything because I will get out of bed sometimes to go out and get a midnight snack. And literally, I'm getting like, what are you doing?

SPEAKER_01

It it wakes me up every time. Even if I even the times when I don't say anything, it wakes me up. And even though, yes, I do snore, um, I I am a very light sleeper.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, and that's another reason that we have to listen so closely to our audio recordings of this shit because PvP could be a Nicole snore.

SPEAKER_01

Well, a lot of it I did just splice out because I'm like, you know, I can't definitively say if this was or was not, you know, somebody snoring, which by the way, not somebody, but I do need to note you you snore too. It's not as bad as I mainly talk in my sleep. You do have snores, you do talk in your sleep. Sometimes Hurricane snores too.

SPEAKER_10

Okay, so we have When you both do it, it's it's it's atrocious. And speaking of what, did you say I was talking about using binary code to talk to ghosts in my dreams the other night?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the other the other night you were talking about laser guns and cheat codes and look at the code and yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, in my sleep?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

That's hot.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I guess that's what you want to call that. I'm like, okay, shut the fuck up.

SPEAKER_10

Let's check out the road mics because uh well, let's paint the picture. Where were the where were they?

SPEAKER_01

So we I are well, I already did.

SPEAKER_10

You did, okay. I forgot. All right.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, this is why we're recording all of these in one day, because otherwise you're gonna get four episodes of us saying the same shit for an hour.

SPEAKER_10

We're doing this for you. Okay. Dive on in the middle of the way. Yeah, and I want to point out that when you're listening to those clips, we there's so many different weird sort of sounds happening, okay?

SPEAKER_01

Uh there's there's little weird things, and it's I mean, the first one that you hear, you can kind of hear the little spaces in between. And you know, feel free to go back, listen to it with headphones on. You know, when I think both of us, when we're listening to these, I use headphones because it's just easier to hear. Like they tend to be very faint, but the first one that you hear, it just kind of sounds like somebody's scratching around, right? But then the second little one moving around the room is yeah, yes, which no one wants to know. Um the second one sounds like there's a zipper, and then there's a little break because again it was I don't know, maybe like ten seconds or so, and then you hear again the next clip, it sounds like somebody's scratching around the room. You even hear like a tap, you know. Yeah. Um, so I don't know what that is.

SPEAKER_10

Well, the big one is there at the end, you can hear what sounds to me like an elevator ding.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like chords or I don't know, some sort of musical thing.

SPEAKER_10

We don't have that full clip here for you because the full clip is a barrage of Nicole snoring.

SPEAKER_01

It's me snoring.

SPEAKER_10

But with that noise happening, it happens three times. In the background.

SPEAKER_01

In the background, and you kind of hear the first, the first two, yes, I'm snoring over her.

SPEAKER_10

Nicole was so embarrassed about her snoring because it is actually pretty fucking wild, like on that clip.

SPEAKER_01

It's pretty bad. Um but you hear it happen three times, but yeah, let's just talk about it because it happens three times. My initial thought when I'm going through and listening was like, okay, like it sounds like maybe a clock or something, you know, how sometimes a clock will like chime or ding or whatever. However, it would have happened throughout the entire night, then, right? Because it's plausible that, okay, well, if it was a clock, does that three times signifying three 3 a.m.? Well, right, it did not happen the entire rest of the night.

SPEAKER_10

Well, it wouldn't be a clock signifying anything because it's not doing it in a um oh, what's the word I'm looking for? A cadence.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it it kind of did. The three. It's like ding.

SPEAKER_10

Well, I wish we could hear that, but you're just so worried about your snoring.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I can put it in. I asked you if I should put it in because then they'd be able to clearly hear, you know, to differentiate with the other sound clips of like, well, that's definitely not a cool snoring.

SPEAKER_10

You know what? Fuck it. We're putting it in. Let's do it now. God damn. Look, the drawer that it's opening right now. No uh it's opening right now.

SPEAKER_01

Stop it, you stupid fucking bruv.

SPEAKER_10

Isn't that wild?

SPEAKER_01

This fucking door of this goddamn and you heard you just heard me close it. Doing it again to make sure it is heard, and it keeps fucking opening. Stop it!

SPEAKER_10

Do the listeners know about this yet?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because remember the last time we sat down to record, we recorded both uh Haunted Hush Puppies for Parapeculier, and we recorded an RGO back to back, and it was fucking opening.

SPEAKER_10

Okay, so I was about to literally say Holy shit, that was some scary noises you were making. But as I started, I fucking look over and the door is moving open slowly.

unknown

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Um, so anyway, yes, I do have sleep apples.

SPEAKER_10

It didn't like your it didn't like your snoring.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, but there you go. So you can hear it. It happened three times.

SPEAKER_10

Well, and to me, again, it doesn't sound like a clock. In my what I the way I'm registering it is it sounds like when the the elevator comes and is hits your floor, it goes ding like that. I don't know what kind of clock would be in that house that would make that kind of a ding, also I'm saying I don't remember.

SPEAKER_01

Well, there there was nothing in there because if there was, we would have been hearing it.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

First of all, the entire night, but the entire time that we were there, you know, I would have captured it in other places on the recordings.

SPEAKER_10

Well, those tones and and and vibrations and frequencies are interesting to think about. That seems to be what was happening there. But I want to point out, and people listen uh and let us know what you think. Uh there's times where I hear weird voices in those clips. Okay, that's me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, there's a couple of things.

SPEAKER_10

But I've also spent thousands of hours listening to white noise to pull voices out. So that could be me and being crazy. But for the listeners, did you hear those voices? If you did, please let us know. Like, I hear very clear sometimes voices in that in those clips.

SPEAKER_01

Like in the background, yeah. Yeah. Um, I don't know. It's just all fucking weird. The one that gets me is when it sounds like a zipper and then it sounds like somebody scratching around the room. And like it was it was not one of us because you would have heard getting out of the bed. Bro, can you stop shuffling cards right now?

SPEAKER_10

Am I shuffling cards? Yes. And you can hear it? Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_10

Um, but you would have heard the bed squeak because the beds they had on there were not, you know, they're you get in and out of bed, you hear it.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, you're gonna hear it very clearly. Like you can, I mean, you can hear, and I didn't, you know, obviously you can hear from my snoring, like some of the other parts. Like, that's not my snoring. You just heard my snoring. Um, but you know, as you're listening, like you can hear when when somebody's rolling around or moving around, you can hear when Hurricane gets up and is moving around, like you can hear all of these things. It's very clear, and it's also very clear because it's right next to the microphone.

SPEAKER_10

Correct. So let's uh I know you talked about it, the microphones were in the room.

SPEAKER_01

They were literally clipped onto the lamp that was on the nightstand, so it is directly next to like where our face would have been.

SPEAKER_10

Okay, yeah. So yeah. But but what is weird about that? So also in those clips, you're gonna hear a couple of times where I don't even want to call it a tap, but it's a very clear physical noise that's happening, seemingly in the room. Because the way the audio sounds, it's not muffled by being outside of the door that was closed, it's in the room. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Um sounds like somebody's in there scratching around.

SPEAKER_10

When you combine that with the stuff from downstairs, which was happening in that room by itself. To me, that is um I I'm not even gonna call these EVPs.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think those were sounds that were actually happening. Correct. Um, that we happened to capture because we had recorders going. I don't think any of those were EVPs. I don't think any of them I think those were audible phenomena.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah, they they absolutely were. And it's a lot of them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's a lot.

SPEAKER_10

So that is, I think, the important thing here is we've been to some of the most wild places in the world and we've captured things as not but that's a lot to be happening.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. While literally nothing else was going on. So and we do, I guess this is a good segue into the next episode, uh, because we do finally, you know, we go on our trip, we get back, and we are able to sit down virtually uh with the former owner of the home. And we have her tell us about, you know, the history of the home, the family, but also about some of her experiences, and we do finally have the opportunity to ask her about some of these things that we experienced. And um the noises and these things happening. That that was one of the things that we talked to her about.

SPEAKER_10

So there's one last thing that I want to talk about as far as experiences go. Hurricane. Do you want to tell us what he did?

SPEAKER_01

What do you do?

SPEAKER_10

You know what he did.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, the when he could poopin'? Well, we talked about that on I think the parapecular episode.

SPEAKER_10

Yeah. Or was it one of these? I don't know, but as part of this investigation. It was a big thing. He shit all over the porch.

SPEAKER_01

He did shit all over the porch.

SPEAKER_10

He haunted.

SPEAKER_01

I mean like he was trying to be a gentleman and he gets anxiety when we're traveling and he likes to hold it. But the next morning when we were trying to leave, you know, we were I was putting something in the car and we're going back inside and he's walking up the steps and then you know poop is coming out and he's trying to go into the position, but he's fighting it so hard, and he just he couldn't he couldn't stop. He was trying for bat and holding it and he couldn't stop. Well, you know, I'm glad you came out when you gotta go, you gotta go.

SPEAKER_10

Well, I'm I'm glad that I brought up excrement because um we have actually forgot to talk about one part of the investigation that is actually pretty damn compelling, and that is the way the hurricane was acting when we were upstairs and you and I were looking through the books.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

And we had him, well, this is when we put the hurricane on him.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

And he was going room to room, and he was looking in rooms and certain rooms. We had the REM pod going.

SPEAKER_01

It w the REM pod kept going off. It was in our room. Isabel's room.

SPEAKER_10

So the REM pod would go off. And and I don't know if you've said it on RGO, but our our REM pod, we are not huge REM pod grillies, but Nicole had us one built that was.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was it was custom built by an electrical engineer to not have false positives. And I actually did even send over um like the the microphones and everything that we use so that way he could double check the frequencies to make sure that it was not picking up frequencies that would be set off by the other equipment that we're using. Okay, so this is not like majority of the time when we use this REM pod, it's not doing anything. I will say it is motion sensitive.

SPEAKER_10

Well, vibrate vibration, really. So we gotta be careful with it.

SPEAKER_01

So we have to be careful where we set it because if it's you know like an old rickety house and you step and it moves something, like it'll be set off by that, unfortunately. But um, yeah, we set it on the mantle because there was a fireplace in the room. Um, so we set it on the mantle on there, so like there's not gonna be any vibrations or anything like that, and it kept going off.

SPEAKER_10

Well, we left the room. We were looking at old books that over part of the house history and the hallway. Hurricanes with us, and we had strapped the hurricane on him, and we do got to go back and look at that footage actually. But he that the REM pod would go off, but in an interesting way, okay? Like, if it's gonna give a false positive at uh with our REM pod specifically, it goes nuts, right? Like brrrrrrrrr.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it'll do it when the battery's dying.

SPEAKER_10

Right. But this one was like it was respon we were trying to interact with it, and so Hurricane though goes, he's looking in that room, and you can see his little tail go up.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm. And he's going real slow.

SPEAKER_10

So he there was two stairways in the house. One stairway he'd go up and down, no issues. The other stairway, I can't explain it, wouldn't go up or down it. Yeah, the back when he would go between his legs, and he wouldn't do it.

SPEAKER_01

Well, he was shaking, and that's something. Um you'll hear this more when when I upload the full walk because it was a whole ordeal. We were trying to get him to go up and down, and I was picking up some weird things with the the back stairway. Uh, we weren't able to validate any of it. I was just feeling weird shit, but anyway, we'll put all of that on Patreon so you can hear it. But yes, he was acting really, really weird.

SPEAKER_10

I just thought it was important to mention all that because he this was his debut of It was. This was his first This was his debut.

SPEAKER_01

It was his first paranormal investigation. Um, but the thing that we're also not mentioning is, you know, when this was going off and we're trying to interact and ask questions and the REM pod's going off, you know, with intelligent timing, um the thing that we're trying to train him on is by saying, go say hi. Yeah. And so we've been saying that, you know, when people come over to visit or even just around the house or like with the cats, we're trying to say, oh, go say hi, right? And so that way we know when we're in these scenarios, uh, the theory being that animals can see things we aren't able to, right? That we're ever s if we're ever saying, go say hi.

SPEAKER_10

If our theory is that we say go say hi, he sees a human or an animal or whatever, and then reacts in a certain way, uh, versus we say go say hi and then he doesn't see anything, he'll keep looking. But if he if we say that and he goes into that room and he's reacting as if there's a what he's seeing, that's what we're trying to do.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and that that's what happened. We said go say hi, and he goes right in that room where the REM pod is going off.

SPEAKER_10

He wouldn't go in. I'm sorry though, I want to say this, he wouldn't go in the room. He he literally went to the door opening and was looking in it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he was kind of creeping real slowly.

SPEAKER_10

Real slow like. So I just thought we should mention that because we did forget our third member a lot on this podcast, and there was that element of it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. He went he went to go say hi to the ghost. So uh there's that. So yeah, now you've you've heard my walk. Uh you heard Damien fill me in on what he was able to find out. You heard our investigation. So next up, we are going to sit down with the former owner, um, the one who actually was the one to find all of these old Civil War relics and records and letters and all of these things, and really was the one who dove down the rabbit hole and, you know, did the research, found out about this home and the family that lived in here.

SPEAKER_10

So And also the one that experienced the water abortation.

SPEAKER_01

She's the one that experienced that.

SPEAKER_10

So we are going to Did you just hear what sounded like the goddamn like the the elevator bell?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. We're we're just gonna we're gonna carry on. If y'all heard that on the episode, I don't know, let us know so we're not fucking crazy. Am I fucking it no, I mean I heard something. I don't know what I heard, but it sounded I was gonna say almost like a like a woman's voice or something. I don't know. It sounded like something. Yes, I heard it. Okay. Well, that's what we fucking get. We're recording this in the goddamn haunted museum right now. What do you want? What do you want? We got fucking noises, we got doors opening.

SPEAKER_10

Alright, listeners. We'll see you when we talk about the history.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10

Jesus fucking Christ.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, bye.
