I'm so excited for it because uh well, because of the whole sort of way that it cosmically came together.

It yeah, it you know how I feel about the word synchronicity, and I I hate using it like a million times because I feel like whenever people start talking about synchronicity, it's like dude, every other word that for the next like two hours that they talk is synchronicity, and then I just want to punch them in the face. But there are some weird fucking synchronicities.

Well, we understand the struggle of saying that word a million times a day because when you do start noticing these and you act on them, yeah, it gets more and more and more the universe gets really chatty.

Yeah, and then you're like, okay, heard.

And honestly, I'm going to out myself before we get started to our listeners. Oh boy. Yeah, it is noon, and I've poured myself a glass of wine for this episode because I thought that was wine literally from the last time we were up here. Oh no. Oh no, I've just poured it.

Yeah, and it's it is because this story, this series, isn't gonna start in a way where, you know, Nicole and I thought, okay, let's go investigate somewhere. You know, I find a place, and then we do all these things that you usually hear us kind of do in in our episodes.

This is a weird one.

It is, which has then since led to other weird things that will be coming to RGO, so be on the lookout for those because boy, oh boy, we thought we're we're here and we're only getting weirder. Yeah, and we think that this is the start to what you are calling potentially our coolest episode ever. And I think this is gonna be it.

Well, I think the next few that we have coming up are just it's a it's very much a departure from the typical, like, ooh, old spooky place with tragic murder and history and spooky and scary, you know. It's like this one and the one that we're gonna be doing after, this uh the one in Mississippi, you know, it's more um unconventional.

It's adventurous. Basically, what's changing is how we are being called to the places that we go, starting with this one. So I think for this um episode.

Yeah, I think quit beating around the bush and we start talk about it.

We start at the very beginning. How I found it. We are gonna start with the name of this place. It is the Kate Shepherd House.

The Kate Shepherd House, and I'm not gonna lie, I honestly d do kind of want to gatekeep it a little bit, but like we need content, and it was such a cool thing. Like, we can't gatekeep it. It's amazing, it's beautiful. Don't book it out for the next fucking three years, please, okay? Because I wanna be able to go back and stay there again.

Well, we are gonna talk about this actually, because when we decided that this was gonna be a thing and I was diving in to do a little bit of research that obviously you were not a part of because we we did a walk for you. I did find a minute, maybe two people on YouTube or something that were doing any kind of investigating there. Um it was absolute garbage. I'm gonna say that, sorry. Uh I hope that people maybe don't, like you said, we don't want to gatekeep it, but this is a diamond in the rough if you if you do this kind of thing.

Let them know that we sent you. But anyway, okay, so Kate Shepard House. So yeah, let's talk about how this even came about because the already we're starting off in an unconventional manner because I actually found this location. Yeah. However, comma.

Um you have not done that in so long.

However, comma. So the way that I found this, so we were road tripping back to Florida because I was doing my annual, you know, runaway with the circus. I was performing with um the circus over there. And uh we were driving back, which is even should we talk about how that's gonna be a little bit more. Hold on, hold on.

You you are you gotta let me run this one because you're you're not so yes, we were going to Because I wasn't even supposed to drive. Correct. So Nicole was going to go uh and fly into Florida because yes, every year she goes and plays with uh the orchestra at the circus out there. Um and side note, if you've ever got to see Nicole play her flute, it is one of the most sexy things I've ever seen in my life. I just love it. Anyways, so thanks, Nicole was gonna fly. I wasn't even really gonna go. Um but a lot of you knew uh I'm sure remember that there there was a patch of time where all these uh airline sort of problems were happening and planes falling out of the flo the sky. The planes would have to land because things were going wrong, and I'm not gonna get into on this episode uh how I believe that when one of those things happen, a spiral effects happens because we're all thinking about it.

But yes, well, and so that was just to also add date context. So if you're listening to this in the future, this is like beginning of the year 2025. That's what year it is, right?

So Nicole has booked her flight and everything else, and all it booked, we start seeing all these problems with airlines on the news. And so I remember sitting there and Nicole sees one and she looks at me and she goes, You know, if I see one more of these air airline crashes, um, I'm I'm not flying there. And I said, Alright, and look, I know a lot of people, uh, that's a foreign way to think about things, uh, but it is the way that we live our lives. We're very much we read the universe and see. Anyway, so uh maybe a week goes by, maybe two weeks.

And no, it was literally the next day or the day after.

And a plane crashes really.

It was the one that ended up like upside down.

So a plane crashes, and Nicole looks at me and I said, Well, you said you weren't gonna do this. If that happened, what are you gonna do? And she's like, I'm literally like on the computer now to try to see if I can cancel my my flight.

Yeah. And you did. I did, I canceled my flight.

SPEAKER_02

So So you decided that you were going to drive. Now, the thing is, it's a big long drive, and I knew that I didn't want you going there kind of on your own or anything. So I'm like, fuck it, I'll I'll go. I love hitting the road with you, right? Like, that's that's what we do. So we knew we were gonna drive to Florida, and already in my mind, I'm being like, I don't want to call it selfish, but I'm like, all right, how can we make this more than just going to Florida to like see her do her thing? And how can we do a weird sort of whatever? So synchronicity. I'd been thinking that, but I didn't say anything because I did want to allow this to be about you and your performance, and I was gonna be like, yeah, fuck it. This will be a great trip to stay away from the ghosts, you know. Um, you found a place for us to stay at a halfway mark around uh Mobile, Alabama.

Yeah, and so obviously the drive from Austin over to uh Florida, we're going back to Sarasota. You know, we needed to break it up into two days, and so I'm I get on Google Maps and I'm just kind of scrolling through and I'm clicking some spots and I'm looking for a a bit of a halfway point. Obviously, I wanted to stop in New Orleans, but I'm like, dude, you know, I love New Orleans, but I don't necessarily want to leave my car full of all of my stuff that I'm taking back with, you know, sitting there.

The the stop was gonna be literally for resting because it was a halfway point to Florida.

Oh, new if I stopped in New Orleans, we would have had to add on, you know, at least one extra day. But anyway, so I'm I'm scrolling and you know, clicking different things, and I I find Mobile, which I had never been to Mobile before, so I was like, okay, this seems about you know halfway, this is good, and so then I'm zooming in a little bit more. And you know how when you're doing that on Google Maps, the little pins will pop up with like restaurants and hotels and whatever. And so I'm I'm doing that. I zoom in a little bit, and the Kate Shepherd house pops up, and so I click on it, and you know, you see the photos, and I'm like, oh shit, this looks incredible, this is beautiful, and the prices weren't too bad, so I was like, hell yeah, this is it, great. So I, you know, copy the link, send it to Damien, and I'm like, here, what do you think about this place? Like, how does this look? Um, and he's like, Yeah, that looks great. And so I get it.

Well, that's let's let's I'm sorry, we're gonna post pictures, but looks great. We can Google it. It is a sin to use the word looks great when referring to that house. It's beautiful, it's goddamn divine, it's beautiful.

It's an old Victorian, it's just it's beautiful. Um, and it is a home, it's an an old big like mansion that they've turned into a B and B.

Yeah. So um that's important to note, okay, at first. Uh to start this, because I want to make sure that everyone follows the synchronicities in this story. That's how we found it. It's a B and B with several rooms. So one of these places where when you show up, there's other guests staying there as well.

Yes. And so uh so yeah, we're like, okay, yeah, this looks awesome, we'll do this, great. So I get on my computer, I'm on the website, you know, kind of scratching through the different rooms that they have, picking which one, and you know, of course I click around, I'm seeing the pictures, whatever. Um, and I happen to notice on one of the things, you know, I'll I'll disclose this during my walk too, but um, I saw that it had some ties to civil civil war era, that they had found some things there that they then donated to a Civil War museum. Um, and as I'm looking through the pictures, I see one room and I spy with my little eye a Ouija board. Of course, my eye is drawn directly to that. So I'm like, oh, okay, like, you know, and I text Damien and I'm like, Well, I don't know, maybe, maybe there's something weird here. Like it's really old, and if you look at this picture, you can see there's a Ouija board in here, so I don't know, maybe, you know. So I booked the room and don't really think about it again. And that's when I think you started looking into it.

Well, because at this point I was thinking, you know, again, I was thinking, well, it'd be cool to make this a kind of a thing, and I I always wanted to know about places. So I'm looking at this house, and I noticed there's very little um about it on the internet other than the BB page. But there were a couple of you know haunted related stuff mentioning it. So I'm like, eh, fuck that. So I'll scratch around and look. So I started looking, and I noticed that there was this one website that was like, this is one of the most haunted houses in Mobile. And I thought, huh, that's interesting. Very I've never seen this webpage before, so something that kind of popped up, and I know most of the sites that we go to and look at. This was some off-the-wall one, just came up, and there it was, this house on there. But it didn't say much about it, right? Um, so then I just looked on YouTube to see if any other bruvs were out like investigating this place. I found, I believe it was two uh videos on all of YouTube of people, quote, investigating there. Um, I don't recommend going and watching them. I don't know who they are. Um they were awful. It was really bad.

Listen, we'll give them a for effort because it, you know, it takes something to record these things and edit them and put them out there. So good job for that.

I don't think there was any of that. To them. Anyways, yeah, yeah.

But listen, I'm trying to be positive, okay?

Then I stumbled across the thing that turned this whole trip for me. There was no way after this point that I couldn't go to Nicole and say, baby, we're like, we're making some weirdness out of this on the way to the.

Well, you literally, like, I get this text from you, you're like, okay, this place, I I think you were said you like just did some digging around. You're like, okay, this place might be wild. Do not look anything up. Yeah.

We might use this as an episode. Well, because the things that I found, uh, you weren't gonna find if you were doing a casual search of the place. Anyhow, I basically found this article with one of the with the last owner of the house, um, who, which by the way, you will hear her, I believe, telling these stories in the history park because we talked to her, uh, where she is describing phenomena that has happened at the house. Um, can I say the big one right now? And we'll get to it.

No. No? Okay. No, anyway, so because I want them to go in blind with me.

Specifically, one phenomenon. Now they had all the other ones, you know, kind of the things, and they would say this or that, but then there was this one phenomenon that the owner reported that for me is something I've looked at for a long time, and it is very rare. It is very rare, especially to the magnitude of what I had been reading. So, uh, at that point for me, there was no way that there wasn't gonna be an investigation of this. I was bummed out that it was B and B, and I asked you specifically, are other people booked there? You're like, Yes, there are. I think there was like two other rooms booked. So it was gonna be us and then two other people, you know, couples or whatever, in two other rooms. So I said, uh, alright. And I said, you know, darling, like we should investigate it. We can just sit in our room and see if we come up with anything. Anyways, fast forward a little bit.

To literally, this was the day before we're supposed to leave.

So there's a big storm coming through, I guess that was supposed to hit sort of like Florida, Mississippi, Alabama. I don't know.

Yeah, basically our entire route driving to Sorta.

Nick Nicole was like, we need to leave uh um a day earlier or something, and I remember this Well, I literally was like, We might need to leave today, and you're like, What? So I literally get this like download that's like, no, do not leave today. Do not leave, you need to wait. And I after a back and forth, we had a conversation, and we both concluded that okay, we're just gonna go ahead and wait one more day to leave. So when you called then the Kate Shepherd house and said, Hey, because of storm, we think we are going to wait one day later to go. Is that okay? Is there still room? She says, Oh yeah, and then actually on that day, you'll be the only ones in the house. Okay. So the the that's the first synchronicity I want to touch on, okay, is we could have left a day early to avoid the storm. We could have left on the day where this supposed storm was gonna be there. I don't we who knows what we would have hit. Who knows?

Uh well that was when there were all those tornadoes and stuff.

But because but because I literally just had this feeling like, no, we can't, and we I argued with you about it. Like I was like, no, and I was like throwing a kind of a fit.

Yeah, you got your panties in real bunch.

Yeah, and um, but we we decided then that's what we're gonna do. And then when when she said, Yeah, it looks like we're gonna be the only ones there, I was like, hot dog, synchronicity. So now we get a proper investigation of this house.

All worked out, yeah.

So then immediately, you know, we're putting other pieces of this together uh to hit along the way, which we are gonna talk about in the episode, I think, because getting there, you know, there was a first stop. All right, which was also so the first stop was a year.

Well, you can talk about it.

Yeah, well, because it is also the uh the first time, and we'll post this video because uh this footage found some amazing stuff. Found a cryptid sitting on a park bench. But uh it was the first time that we uh utilized what we're calling the hurricane. You'll know a lot more about that if you follow our stuff, basically, because we have added a third member to our team. You only sometimes hear them on the podcast episode when they're scratching around scratching around, and that is of course Hurricane the uh Paraput.

Um Here he is, he's laying on the ground snoozing.

So we like mapped this out. We found out that on the way to Mobile, you could stop in um Pascagoula, uh, Mississippi. Mississippi. And there was the the Pascagoula UFO abduction site that you can you can visit. So we wanted to do that. That was where we first started, and that was a lot of fun. Like we get there and you can tell, because it's on uh this in this park, like right by the water. So most of the people that are there are there for like fun and sun and boats.

Yeah, we pull up and you see all these people, and my first thought is like, oh, maybe all these bruvs are here to see this abduction site, but no, they're all doing like normal shit.

Like moms playing with their kids.

Yeah, and we walk up and we're looking around and like trying to find where the site was, and people are just looking at us, uh, which they tend to do in Mississippi for some reason.

Yeah. So we find the site, there's a nice marker there, everything else. We use the hurricane for the first time, and we found Mothman sitting on a park bench.

Um so we did that, and that was great. We did the the the Pascagoula UFO site. As we left there, we then stopped at Crystal Burger because I had not done Crystal Burger.

If there is one thing about me, is if there is a Crystal Burger or a White Castle, we are stopping.

It was good. We did fight most of the way on what was better, Crystal or White Castle. Anyway, so that was that. Saw the UFO abduction site, it was really great. It's good to see that. And we make our way to Mobile, Alabama. Now, I'm just gonna say something flat out right now on the podcast that um this was my first time in Mobile. And Mobile, you have one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen in my life. Now, granted, we were just in the what they call the historic area. It is beautiful.

Yeah, that was we both breath away. And I feel like, and this is the best way I know how to describe it because I feel like most people have been to New Orleans or at least know what New Orleans looks like. It's that same kind of architecture, and you have those, you know, the old oaks with the Spanish moss hanging, you know, it's that kind of feel. Um, but it's more, I don't know, it's like that like like southern hospitality. You know, everything's very like clean and it just feels like I don't know, it feels like you should be sitting on a front porch in a rocking chair with like some sweet tea or something.

In a mobile home. No, anyways, uh so the only way I can describe it for me is if you've ever seen the movie Top Gun, there's that scene where Tom Cruise and his lady friend bang, and they have the song playing Take My Breath Away, and when you watch it, you just feel like, oh, and that's how I felt with Mobile Is That Beautiful.

Um I would not give the same description at all, but okay.

Uh well it's funny because I've each their own. Yeah, well, that's how my brain works. I said it took our breath away, and then that song came into my mind, and then I just saw that scene where Tom Cruise and his lady are banging, and then it's just their shadows, and you just like see their tongues going. It's weird. Anyways, that's gross. I don't want to talk about tongues. Tom Cruise's that's gross. A dream boat. Um, anyhow, so but but before we stopped at the house, we had found on our trip um a haunted tree.

Yeah, well, here's another synchronicity. Um, because I had looked up, I literally Googled like what are some of the haunted spots in Mobile? So that way we could just go stop there. I wanted to get a a few quick like little b-roll um clips of each spot to be able to post them and just share, you know, like, hey, here's this place, here's the lore, whatever, um, on social media, as one does, you know. But here's the thing. And I clicked on, I think maybe three or four sites, you know, and just made some notes of each of them. Um, so I had a little list going in there. Not one of them was the Kate Shepherd house on there. So I do think that that's just another interesting thing to note.

So diamond in the rough, and you fuckers listening, stay away from it. I'm I'm kidding. I'm kidding.

Um, but yeah, I mean, you know, for me to click on a few sites and you know, I obviously looked at it, and it wasn't the Kate Shepherd House was not on any of them.

But yeah, so we stopped at this old haunted tree, and and I love this because when you think haunted tree, like it sounds kind of ridiculous, but what was the name? Why it's escaping me. Uh look it up. Well, because the story behind this thing is interesting. There's this dude, you know, this bruv who was accused of murdering uh an associate of his.

Oh, the Boeington Oak.

The Boyington Oak Tree. Okay. So there was this guy, he was executed for murder, um, which he was apparently innocent of, and before they hung him, he said something to the effect of uh That an oak would grow from his heart to prove his innocence. Correct. And then it did. It did. The oak tree literally grew in that spot. Still there. Still there, and people report hearing no no Did you hear that? Yeah. The tap on the wall?

Um, anyways, that was actually interesting. So, anyways, um, people report hearing screams from the tree, moans, weird sounds, weird feelings. We showed up, and uh, so let's talk about it with you. I did by my grandpa because I have tattoos. And then he looked at your arms and was like, oh, you have them too.

No, uh, you kept saying he was gonna pee on the tree. He didn't pee on the tree, he peed in a normal place.

Damn it. I should have peed on the tree. Uh it is worth noting that uh I actually have a recording of that walk. We may or may not post that in the Patreon. Um there was a bunch of weird random shit. Bunch of weird random shit.

No, we we will get to the key lime pie. That's literally the biggest evidence we found on the whole trip. Okay, is literally evidence of the world's greatest key lime pie. Um so we saw the haunted tree, I peed on the tree, we leave. And um we get to the Kate Shepherd house. I don't know how to kind of paint the picture of It's just beautiful. Well, but the the thing is, it's this beautiful thing amongst a bunch of other beautiful things. So we get to the neighborhood, and Nicole and I are just looking around like, oh, yeah, like two kids in a candy store.

You know, we're looking at every house, like, oh my god, let's live there. Let's live there. Oh my god, let's live there. And we're immediately, of course, because you know, we are who we are, we're like pulling up Zillow listings and like, well, what what if we just move here? Uh, because that's just what we do. But it's beautiful. But I, yeah, I feel like words cannot accurately paint the picture of it. I mean, it's beautiful. Just immediately stop what you're doing. If you're driving, pull over or wait until, you know, a red light or something. But just Google real quick the Kate Shepherd house and just scroll through a few pictures, okay? And just imagine, just imagine you're driving down these little it's still kind of cobblestone almost roads, and you're pulling up to it, and you're seeing this big, beautiful grand home, and you get to be like, oh my god, we're gonna be the only ones staying here tonight. And you're just looking at it, and it's so big, and the the lawn is perfectly manicured, and the weather was perfect, by the way. It was like, you know, California perfect, like I don't know, like 73 degrees, and you have that crisp breeze in the air, and you're like, Oh my god.

So that was the big thing. We were literally the only people in this this wonderful house. So we knew that we were gonna get this investigation. Now keep in mind, okay? I don't even know how many hours it was, but we drove from Austin. We started this trip at 4 a.m. The night before I got slapped by the bell witch, and we start this trip at 4 a.m. As you should. And we get to um this place in early evening.

So yeah, I think it ended up taking us maybe nine or ten hours between stops and stuff.

So we knew we were gonna have to investigate this. So we we get out, we we go into the house, and but you pretty much immediately were like, whoa.

Yeah, walking in there, the energy for me was pretty overwhelming. Um, and you'll hear me describe it a little bit more on the walk, but it yeah, it it was, I don't know, overwhelming is the best word to describe it. And to the point where I even, you know, I I think I brought maybe like one or two loads of things up to the room, but then I was like, dude, like I gotta like lay down, like I gotta let this settle for a minute. Like it was even starting to make me feel kind of like sick.

Yeah. Ladies, take uh take note. If you want to not take in luggage to a place uh and you want to have your stupid uh significant other do it, just say, Oh, my mediumistic abilities are too much. I need you to take this stuff in.

It is gorgeous. It's gorgeous. So anyway, so yeah, you're um I'm laying in the in the bed, just kind of trying to acclimate to the wild energies. Oh, we're getting to our first experience, aren't we? And yeah, because this was not recorded on anything. Um, so before we even get into my walk, uh I'm I'm laying there and you're like, okay, I'm gonna go, you know, grab some more things, whatever, and you you go downstairs and when you got back up, I asked you.

I was outside for a while because I was taking photos of the house.

Yeah, and you were getting some different like uh b-roll shots and everything. And you come back up finally, and I asked you, like, did you come back inside at all, or like come back upstairs and like drop something off and then go back down? And you were like, No, I was outside the entire time. Why? And uh while I had been laying there, it sounded like somebody was kind of scratching around in the hallway, you know, and it was very it was faint. Um, it was quiet, but it sounded like somebody was kind of shuffling around and like rifling through some papers or whatever.

Explain that so for the for the skeptics that are probably not even listening, that are thinking, oh, you were just hearing something like a house creak. Like what did it sound like to you?

It was not a house creaking, it was not a creaking, it was not a tapping, it was not a knocking. It sounded like when somebody is you know, somebody is a light walker, right? Like I'm a heavy walker, you're gonna fucking know when I'm coming. You'll hear me stomping on around, you know, but it sounded like somebody who's like a light walker that was kind of like shuffling down the hall. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, somebody who doesn't like fully pick their feet up when they walk and they kind of like shuffle. Like that's what it sounded like. But it was it was pretty faint, you know, it was soft. Um, and then there were there's a couple bookshelves up there. Um, and it sounded like, you know, somebody I I don't know if this will do it, but like, no, that didn't do it. Like rustling through papers, you know. So it was like soft, it was faint, it was quiet, it wasn't anything super loud.

It's like like if somebody, if there's a stack of like papers and you're kind of like just ruffling through that. Ruffling around. Yeah, yeah. Um, so yeah, that's that's what I heard. Now and I want to note also, because Hurricane was laying in the bed with me, he even he heard it because he picks his head up and he's looking, and you know, I mean, you see everybody who has been around a dog, you know, when they hear something you see. Um so he heard it too, but yeah, you were not up there.

Yeah, and this is relevant, and this is when I got really excited because um what Nicole just described. Um oh so, anyways, I come upstairs and you tell me that. And I'm like, son of a gun. Oh.

Because I just remembered something else that happened when you came back upstairs too. What? You picked your iPad up off the bed and you were like, Did you turn this off?

Yeah, and I mean it's also just you know, noting that is something that is exceedingly rare when you go to even, you know, these big reportedly haunted locations, for things to start happening like that right away, and also the energy that I felt there, like that is also something like sure. Um, you know, I might feel like overwhelming energies or whatever, but to the point where it was making me feel sick to my stomach, like that is also pretty rare. Where I had to be like, I need to like lay down for a minute, like I need to chill, like it was already like okay, this is not a joke.

Nicole actually getting a walk through the house to see if she can pick up on anything. Uh, for most of the time that we've been here, she's stayed upstairs um just to make sure that she's not picking up on anything before that initial walk. So are you ready, Nicole?

This is the room that when we first came in here and first brought things in, that I just immediately was like, ooh, like even when I walked in here, I kind of felt a little light-headed coming in here. So there's a lot of energy in this room. Um I think it's because okay, I haven't looked at anything in the shelves, and I will, okay, so before I keep going, I will disclose because obviously I booked this location. I didn't know it was haunted before I booked it. I was like, well, we're driving to Florida. This looks about a halfway point. I'm on Google Maps, I kind of zoomed in. Um Kate Shepherd House popped up and I was like, okay. So I clicked it, I clicked on a picture, I was like, wow, that looks cool. Um when I booked this, I did see on the thing that there was a lot of like Civil War relics, I guess, that were found in the attic here that I think were donated to a museum. Um and I know it is called the Cate Shepherd House. That's what I know from what I skimmed when I booked it. Um anyway. The shells that are in here. I feel like I feel like there's so much energy from like the stuff that are in the shells. I feel like there's a lot of I mean, it's a lot of old things, but I feel like there's a lot of things in those that are original to this house and have history to them. But I also just keep seeing like a lot of children. Um, so I don't know if it's maybe like the family that lived here had a lot of children, or I I don't know, but I just keep seeing um children. So there's that. Yeah, I'm going to go where her cable is just taking us directly straight to the butler's country. I don't really feel much in the dining room area. Um, but it also it feels very like transitional to me. Um the the dining room area to me. It just will it just feels very transitional. Like like you can tell, you know, obviously you know it's a B and B and so people are like coming in here and needing serving breakfast and whatever, and I feel like that kind of energy is kind of like re-imprinted over this. I still am just feeling the like it doesn't go, it doesn't go here, it doesn't go here. Like I'm feeling that throughout all of the main rooms in here, it's like I just I don't know, they were the setup was different. Something was the setup was different. Um, the butler's pantry, however, okay, so I was avoiding feeling anything when we came in here before and touching things. Um but I am going to now because yeah, this was the other spot that just kind of felt weird to me, and then the other one is not there to get there, but okay, so touching I feel like people like somebody is open sometimes. Um I feel like people have come in here and it either like opens or uh like they see it open or they come in here and it's open and they have left it closed, something like that. Um, I also keep getting water. I know there's a sink right here. I don't think this was an original at least this sink, so I don't know why I'm getting water or what that has to do with this sink. I think I see a dude. I feel like I see one But I can't quite identify it. I don't know if they like died here, but it's just like a like an energy. I don't know, it's kind of like attached here, you know what I'm saying? Um can we go upstairs or is there anything else that you want to anything you want to ask me about the downstairs area?

Well, interestingly enough, um near the earlier apartment during the not by the front door. I don't know if you heard it. I know houses make noises. There's a very clear so I'd like to before we go upstairs go back to that area and just see.

Let's go see Yeah, it was like over like this area, right? Yeah that we heard it. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. It's just the stairway areas just feel kind of weird to me. And I don't know if it's just that it's such like a liminal space and stair stairways are just kind of like intrinsically a little bit creepy. But here, like the feeling that I get here is like, dude, like I fully am expecting that I'm gonna look up and there's somebody like and I I don't I keep seeing like a kid, like literally when I do that, like I'm seeing like a little kid, like kind of like standing, you know, like this, like crouched down, like peering over the side of the banister. You know, it's like um it's a little girl. Kind of like, you know, just like like peering over. That's what it's like. I yeah, I don't like that. So that's what I'm feeling there. So maybe that's what yeah. Okay. Um I don't know, but the energy upstairs just feels it it feels I don't know, more anxiety inducing to me. And you even saw me, you know, when we first got in here, I was like, dude, this like energy in here is wild. It is very overwhelming for me, and it was making me even feel kind of like sick to my stomach.

Because that's just that's just kind of what happens to me when there's so much energy. I'm just kind of being like bombarded.

Can you describe what that means specifically in this place when you say so much energy? Because it doesn't seem like it's something.

That people would call heavy or like you know, downstairs you said it doesn't feel like yeah, and it doesn't feel like it's you know, it's definitely knowing what I know now, it's not like it's anything that's you know negative or harmful, or you know, I'm even hesitating, obviously, to say it's like something that I would consider intelligent, but the energy, um, because there's so much from like all of the items in here and the house itself and the land and the things that have happened, like in this area and in this home, there's just a lot of things kind of coming at you from like all angles, you know what I'm saying? And then when you add on top of it such a tran a transient space, like a hotel or a BNB or like a hospital, anywhere like that, where people are coming and going consistently, like you're also getting all of those kind of like fragments of energy that other people are leaving, you know. So it's very like, yeah, you're being like bombarded with a lot. And so it's very easy to feel overwhelmed by it. But yeah, kind of have to identify that it's like, okay, well, that's just what it is. It's not like oh, there's even here, you know, like how to do that. Like you just gotta take it in case. Yeah, the rooms like I don't necessarily feel much in that room or this room. I feel a lot in this area specifically in the hallway. Um, and I really like it taking everything I have not to like look through some of these things on the bookcases. I feel like there are things in there that would probably be useful and pertinent to the history of this house and like what has gone on here, things like that, um, that are just holding a lot of energy. So I'm feeling very drawn to that, but I'm also feeling an I don't know what the fuck is in here or what's not, but um, it's very much giving the vibe of like, like, you know how when I first described the urn to you and was like, you can almost feel like the mourning of the parents, you know, holding it and their grief and whatever, it's almost giving something like that, you know, like something related to something that would have given somebody a lot, like something that was very important to them, very special to them, of uh somebody who's who had passed and that they were just very like attached to and very sentimental about.

So that was your walk. And you can hear uh the third member hanging out giving uh that was his walk, it was his opinions, giving his uh thoughts, which we have not figured out a way yet to translate. Uh we're working on it in the lab. So uh soon we hope to be the only podcast where dogs talk, uh, and you can understand it. Um but when you did that walk, uh clearly I was with you, and we eventually then sat down afterwards to sort of go over uh what I knew about the place, what you had said about the place, all before we um did any kind of looking into it or doing experiments or anything like that.

She has the owner has all of that stuff, everything. That's all very well documented. As a matter of fact, the school that used to be in this home is still a school here in town. Yeah.

Yeah. But the biggest thing that I wanted to debrief about is that room in there with the Butler's pantry. So two things. One is a pretty profound hit. The other one's profound too, but the first thing that you said was something about now you looked at that.

Well, forget the water for a second. You looked at that shelf, but the butler pantry part, like the the cabinet, if you want to understand that closet, the one that's in there that you can't see here, was doors would open. And they do that all the time. Randomly.

In the closet in there? In the butler's pantry?

Yeah. Yeah. Um the biggest thing, okay, probably the most profound phenomena that has happened in this home, happened right where you pointed, exactly what you said. So there was a literal apportation of a stream of water that almost looked like a waterfall.

Literally, like what coming from that, you see it. So you can see the ceiling. You can see the ceiling, and it started coming from the ceiling, which happens. It's remember when I told you stories of people that see puddles on their floor or their dude. They saw the water.

Was the ceiling stained?

Yes. And here's the problem. They had people come in to look at it.

When they had a professional come in to look at the damage that the water had caused, there was nowhere the water would have come from. Nowhere. And they were just as perplexed as the owners were. And they were just as perplexed as the owners were.

And the way it happened was it just started coming down from the ceiling, like she describes it, is just like a stream of like a wall of water coming down. And you can see in the ceiling where it's still there. It's not as stained as I'd seen previous. I think maybe they took care of that a little bit, but a steady stream of water out of nowhere.

Okay, and so noting I do have my glasses off, even looking up there, I can't.

I can barely see. I can't see that. So that was the big one is the water. So one of the things that happens in this house on the regular is a little girl is seen upstairs, and it's so vivid that the people that come and stay here are have continuously asked the owner, oh, who is that sweet little girl running around upstairs?

Okay. But there's no reports of a little girl dying here, is there?

No, so the death thing is interesting because this is it.

I don't believe so, because I have this is going to be a question that we are gonna need to ask the owner because I've heard two different versions.

One is Isabel.

Who's Isabel?

She knows. One of the daughters, right? So she helped run the school and everything else. So Isabel, she didn't die when she's a child, by any means. No, not even anything tragic.

By all accounts, just died of natural cause, yes.

You know, I've looked and found where she's buried and everything, and looked and we don't list how she died, but there's no foul play or anything like that. None of that has ever kind of happened. But from what I understand, one of the accounts I heard is that she did die in this home.

You know, and and that's not unnatural, right? You you die in your home of old age. So and potentially, and this is where we're not gonna know until we talk to the homeowner, because I potentially the other sister died here as well of old age. Nothing bad. I I have seen no reports of kids dying, no tragedies.

Was there a man though? Because what I was feeling was two I I think it was two women and a man, and then I said, like, maybe a fourth, like energy, but I couldn't quite identify, but I wasn't sure. I don't I don't think they had died here. Maybe that was the little girl that I was feeling. But was there a dude?

Well, there was a the the owner of the house was a man. When the house was actually built, it's funny. This house was built by a pretty famous architect who did you can order these homes out of like these magazines or kits, basically. Like in he would build these homes um that had this unique style, which is very beautiful. He built the house for the family, they moved in, and that is when um they turned it into a school for a little bit, and no nothing bad, but you were here's what's interesting. As we walked through the house, the way that you kept saying you're feeling a ton of energy, but you it doesn't feel negative, you can't really pinpoint it. To me, it feels like maybe you were tapping into a bunch of kids running around playing. That's high energy. Because it seemed almost confusing to you as to what you were picking up on. And maybe that was because there were so many of them, because throughout the year, so many kids came and went through here.

So there was no-the way that I was, you know, describing upstairs, or like I said on the stairway, like a little girl like sitting, like peering down the stairs, and up there I was like hiding. You know, so maybe it's like like kids would play like hide and seek or whatever, you know.

The activity here, everyone says it is very just playful, but it's very active. So it's considered one of the most more haunted homes in Alabama. And if you think about it, we're in here 20 minutes, you're here and walking around and saying, and you said it was soft.

Like a child. So that was going on. And it's interesting to be in a place that can potentially be so active. But in the paranormal world, we typically see that and where it's someone died, someone was murdered, you know, people forget that positive energy is is also strong. And playful energy is also strong, and that the playful energy of a child and or many children absolutely could leave an imprint. I don't think that there was any deaths of them. And if there was, it wouldn't have been anything that was unknown or tragic. I mean, well, tragic in a negative way, you know, like a a crime or anything like that.

So those are things you picked up on, and it is interesting to me that the tap that we heard earlier, and it again, we heard that, and I I've walked through this house now over and over and over, and not once have I heard that tap while we were walking around out there. So it wasn't like a creak.

It was definitely a tap. And then upstairs, when you said you heard walking around, at first I was like, okay, well, I do know these old homes. Every walking can make a noise, but when you said to me it was soft, that to me I was like, okay.

Well, it kind of sounded like somebody was like shuffling through papers or something, you know.

If, in my opinion, the the biggest activity that is seen here by guests is this little girl. Now, no one knows who is the little girl of or whatever. Potentially, people think it could be Isabel, maybe who knows?

But I do like that that is the room that you pay for us to stay in because that is also um that area up there is where that happens more often than ever.

Oh really the okay. Um, yeah, we have to I'd be curious to find out about that too, because I really like I hate feeling that it's two women and a guy. So obviously you said there's like the woman and her sister, Isabel, I'm assuming Kate Shepherd.

Kate would have been the wife, and I'll have to read get the names out for you. But if you think about it, they all could have died here of old age.

I mean, it doesn't they their death records say Mobile, Alabama, right? But it's not like died in their home. There's nothing like that. And I, from what I've read, there's differing accounts of Isabel dying here or not. So who knows? That could be legend, that could be lore. That is going to be a question for the owner.

Yeah, and and this walk was um it was some of the hits that you got on there were were really, really interesting because and uh maybe you should talk about this for a second for the listeners, because it sounds like in this instance, you weren't really picking up more on you were picking up on phenomena that had been reported or happened.

Yeah, and that's for me. I mean, you and I have kind of talked about this before. Um, when I do my walks, there's a you know, all mediums have their thing different things that they're just kind of naturally good at. And for me, for whatever reason, I'm real good at being able to tell if, you know, a layout is different and you know, oh, there was a staircase here, you know, whatever useless information. Um, but also picking up on things that have been experienced at a place.

Yeah, and and it was very hard for me when you were walking through there uh in the area and you started to talk about water because that was the big thing for me, because that phenomena is wild, and so much so that we knew that for us to try to validate, like I already knew that everything you were saying was validated because there's not a ton of history on this house, like because there wasn't something crazy that happened, there wasn't a big piece of history, right? Like, so this is like most houses, that their history is there, but it gets somehow lost in history because there's no big event.

Yeah, and the um the butler's pantry, I know I cut this out, but in the walk, you like try to bring me back there a few times, you know, and you keep like trying to like, well, what do you what do you mean? What do you mean? You know, I'm like, bro, I don't fucking know. I just fucking feel water.

Yeah, because I wanted to see if that if that could elaborate more, but if I'm being honest with you right now, I was really hoping that putting energy and focus in that area and that specific thing that you were feeling about water would cause the fucking phenomenon to happen.

Oh, I do not want that to happen. Because when we were doing this, mind you, you know, we got in there late. It's already late. I'm like, dude, I don't want to be calling this freaking owner at like 1 a.m. or 2 a.m. being like, uh, the water thing's happening, you know, like no.

Well, that's the thing. So the the owner now, I don't know um if ever even knew about that. The previous donor is who had experienced it and uh talked about it because they had multiple uh maintenance people come and look at this thing. We are gonna get into that, I think, on the next or on one of these episodes, because we do talk to her eventually because we wanted to know more of the history, but we also wanted to dive deeper into what she knew about the phenomena experience there because it is not plastered all over the internet. So to be honest with you, I'm gonna give you this because the water thing, uh, it really cooked my bacon when you brought that up. Because in order to find that phenomena that happened there, you have to dig going into this. And I keep a watchful eye over you. I'm connected to you at all times. I know that that that that wasn't something that happened.

Well, you you also, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think when we were talking, maybe later that night, I don't remember, um, I think you had said that you found out about it because you watched like you went on some news site and they had interviewed her and she was talking about it like in this interview, but it was like halfway or like towards the end of the interview or something.

Correct, and that's the only time you're really gonna hear it. And you know, the bros that are doing that have done some paranormal investigating there, I I uh I don't believe they mentioned any of that. Uh it seems like most people that have investigated their saw it's an old house and they're like, Well, you know, and when it looks spooky and creepy, which is I mean, to be fair, exactly what I did too, you know.

I saw saw the pictures on Google Maps, and I'm like, hmm.

But in a sense of wanting to just kind of rest our heads there for the night.

Um, the other I'm just gonna say it now too. I I want to talk about this because the other thing that there's two things that you picked up on that that I think the listener should pay attention to. And one of them happened before your walk, uh, which was you were upstairs, you heard the walking around in the hallway, specifically said light footsteps. Yeah. Okay. Then we do your walk and you're talking about something with a little girl.

Yeah, which does make sense after hearing you talk about that and saying that that's the main report. Um, and we'll hear some more of those stories from her, right? But then yeah, when we talk to the owner later on.

Yeah, when I when we were going up the stairs, and I was like, it feels like I'm gonna see like a little girl up there, like peeking the stairs.

Um, and again, I'm gonna hearken back to one more thing, uh, because we are gonna get to a point in this episode where sure we're gonna show some investigation stuff. Gets a little wild with that. Well, actually a lot wild because what already happened in the house that you've heard, if you're listening, I want you to pay attention to this. The iPad turned off.

Um, I mean, this is how it unfolded, you know. I did I did my walk, you filled me in, and then we dove into the investigation, and then after the investigation, you know, we have the trip, whatever we get back home, and that's when we were finally able to have our talk with the former owner so she could fill us in on the history and the research that she was able to do on the house, on the family that live there, um, but also sharing what she knows and some of the experiences and things that. Happened to her. So we're just taking you a ride on along with us.
