Welcome to Day 5 of The Yielded Mind – A 50-Day Journey of Reflection and Renewal. As Revelation Week continues, you'll discover another beautiful truth about your identity in Christ. You are not an afterthought or the product of chance. You are God's masterpiece, lovingly created anew in Christ Jesus for a life of purpose. Through Ephesians 2:10, you'll discover that God has prepared good works for you—not to earn His acceptance, but as the joyful overflow of His grace at work within you.
In today's episode, you'll learn what it means to be God's masterpiece, why purpose always follows identity, and how the Holy Spirit faithfully leads you into the life God prepared for you long ago.

Welcome to the Yielded Mind's 50-day journey of reflection and renewal. My name is Eric Hayes, and this is your daily invitation to quiet the noise, yield your thoughts to the indwelling Holy Spirit, and allow Him to renew your mind through the truth of Scripture. If you've not done so already, please download your free companion journal by visiting theyieldedmind.com and clicking The Journal. Doing so will best equip you to follow along as we walk through these 50 days together. Now, please pause and begin where every yielded mind begins, gratitude. In your journal, write down three things you're grateful for today. Consider sharing those gratefuls with someone you love, because gratitude shared strengthens both the one that gives thanks and the one that receives it. Now take a slow breath and prepare your heart for today's passage and teaching. Ask the Lord to make His Word personal. Ask Him for revelation. Ask Him to expose all things that need to come under His authority. The yielded mind is formed through surrender. Open your heart. Open your journal. Open your mind to the indwelling Holy Spirit. Here is today's teaching. Welcome to day five of your fifty-day journey of reflection and renewal. This week, you are discovering who God says you are and learning how to see yourself as He sees you. You've discovered that you belong to God, that He knows you by name, and that in Christ you have been given a new identity, and that God chose you before the foundation of the world. Today, you'll discover that your life is not an accident. God created you with purpose, and today's lesson is named Created With Purpose. I'll be in Ephesians chapter two, verse ten, reading from the NLT translation For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so that we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. Let's consider what the Holy Spirit is revealing through this passage. In verses eight and nine, Paul teaches that salvation is God's gift of grace received through faith. You could never earn salvation. And then without skipping a beat, Paul explains why God saved you. He saved you because you are His masterpiece. The Greek word translated masterpiece in the NLT is poiema. Poiema describes something intentionally created by a skilled artisan. Friend, you are not an accident. You are not an afterthought. You are the workmanship, the masterpiece of God Himself. Your new identity is not the result of self-improvement. Your new identity is the result of God's creative work through Christ Jesus. And Paul then tells us why. So we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. Good works are not how you earn God's acceptance. Good works are the natural overflow of a life transformed by His grace. As you walk with Him, friend, He faithfully leads you into the purpose He has already prepared for your life. This is why purpose follows identity. You don't discover your purpose by striving harder. You discover your purpose by walking closely with the one who designed you. As your mind is renewed by the Holy Spirit, you begin to recognize the opportunities God places before you each day to love, to serve, to encourage, to forgive, and to reflect the Lord Jesus Christ. And this is another step in the yielded mind. The more your mind agrees with what God says about you, the more confidently you live the life He created you to live. You're not trying to become His masterpiece. You already are. So today, yield your mind to this truth, that you are God's masterpiece, newly created in Christ Jesus, to walk in the purpose He prepared for you long ago. Let's pray. Father, thank you for creating this listener with purpose and for making them a new creation through Christ Jesus. Thank you, Father, that they are your masterpiece, lovingly designed by your hands. And I pray that you would renew their mind so that they see themselves as you see them. Strengthen them to recognize the opportunities you have prepared for them today and give them the courage to walk faithfully in your will. May their life reflect the beauty of your workmanship and bring glory to your name. I pray this in the precious and perfect name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen. As today's teaching comes to a close, do not rush past what the Holy Spirit may be revealing. Return now to your journal. Write down the revelation you have received. What truth stood out? What challenged your thinking? Next, prayerfully consider opportunities to serve today. Ask God who He might place in your path. How can you encourage, help, listen to, strengthen, or simply be present for someone in need? Be specific. Journal who, when, and how you plan to serve. And finally, as your day comes to an end this evening, return once more to your journal and invite the indwelling Holy Spirit to debrief about your day. Where was obedience strong? Where might repentance be needed? Are there persons to whom you owe an amends? End this day where it began, fully yielded to the indwelling mind of Christ, and I'll meet you again tomorrow on this fifty-day journey of reflection and renewal. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. In Jesus' name, amen.
