The Yielded Mind Podcast
Created for those who desire lasting transformation, this podcast guides you through the daily practice of renewing your mind through the work of the indwelling Holy Spirit. In a world filled with pressure, noise, and constant demands, many attempt to change through effort, discipline, and control. True transformation does not come from striving. Transformation comes as the mind yields to the Spirit of God already at work within. Your host is Eric Hayes, minister, teacher, and author of The Yielded Mind. His work equips believers to step out of self-driven effort and walk in daily surrender, where the Holy Spirit brings lasting change from within. This is not a podcast for reflection. This is a pathway to transformation.

Welcome to Day 6 of The Yielded Mind – A 50-Day Journey of Reflection and Renewal. As Revelation Week continues, you'll discover another beautiful truth about your identity in Christ. The God who knows you, calls you by name, gives you a new identity, chooses you, and creates you with purpose has not left you to fulfill that purpose alone. Through John 16:13, you'll learn that God has given you His Holy Spirit to faithfully guide you into His truth every day.
In today's episode, you'll learn who the Spirit of Truth is, how the Holy Spirit guides believers one step at a time, and why a yielded mind becomes increasingly sensitive to His faithful leading.

Welcome to the Yielded Mind's 50-day journey of reflection and renewal. My name is Eric Hayes, and this is your daily invitation to quiet the noise, yield your thoughts to the indwelling Holy Spirit, and allow Him to renew your mind through the truth of scripture. If you've not done so already, please download your free companion journal by visiting theyieldedmind.com and clicking The Journal. Doing so will best equip you to follow along as we walk through these 50 days together. Now, please pause and begin where every yielded mind begins, gratitude. In your journal, write down three things you're grateful for today. Consider sharing those gratefuls with someone you love, because gratitude shared strengthens both the one that gives thanks and the one that receives it. Now take a slow breath and prepare your heart for today's passage and teaching. Ask the Lord to make His word personal. Ask Him for revelation. Ask Him to expose all things that need to come under His authority. The yielded mind is formed through surrender. Open your heart. Open your journal. Open your mind to the indwelling Holy Spirit. Here is today's teaching. Welcome to day six of your 50-day journey of reflection and renewal. This week, you are discovering who God says you are and learning to see yourself as He sees you. You've discovered that you belong to God, that He knows you by name, that in Christ you have been given a new identity, that God chose you before the foundation of the world, and that He created you with purpose. Today, you'll discover He has not left you to fulfill that purpose alone. Today's lesson is called The Spirit Guides You, and today's passage is found in John 16:13, and I'll be reading from the ESV translation When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come. Jesus spoke these words to His disciples on the night before His crucifixion. They were troubled because He had told them He was going away. Yet Jesus assured them that they would not be left alone. He promised to send the Holy Spirit. Notice how Jesus describes Him. He is the Spirit of truth. The Holy Spirit never leads contrary to the Word of God because He is the one who inspired it. He doesn't invent truth. He reveals truth. He opens your understanding to what God has already spoken, and He faithfully directs your life according to God's will. Jesus says the Holy Spirit will guide you. The word guide paints the picture of someone leading another along a path. The Holy Spirit doesn't simply point you in the right direction and leave you to figure it out. He walks with you, faithfully directing your steps as you learn to trust Him. This doesn't mean you always know every detail of God's plan. More often, the Holy Spirit guides one step at a time. As you walk in obedience to the truth He's already revealed, He faithfully provides the wisdom you need for the next step. This is why a yielded mind is so important. The Holy Spirit is always speaking in agreement with the Father and the Son, but a distracted or resistant mind can struggle to recognize His leading. As your mind is renewed through God's Word, you become increasingly sensitive to His voice and more willing to follow where He leads. Friend, you were never meant to navigate life by your own wisdom. The God who called you, redeemed you, gave you a new identity, chose you, and created you with purpose, has also given you His Holy Spirit to lead you into truth every day. Let's pray. Father, thank you for not leaving each person listening today to walk through life alone. Thank you for giving them your indwelling Holy Spirit to guide them into your truth. I pray that you would quiet every competing voice and help them recognize your leading through your Word. Renew their mind as they yield their thoughts, their will, and their emotions to you. Give them the faith to trust you with each step and the courage to follow wherever you lead. And I pray this in the precious and perfect name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen. As today's teaching comes to a close, do not rush past what the Holy Spirit may be revealing. Return now to your journal. Write down the revelation you have received. What truth stood out? What challenged your thinking? Next, prayerfully consider opportunities to serve today. Ask God who He might place in your path. How can you encourage, help, listen to, strengthen, or simply be present for someone in need? Be specific. Journal who, when, and how you plan to serve. And finally, as your day comes to an end this evening, return once more to your journal and invite the indwelling Holy Spirit to debrief about your day. Where was obedience strong? Where might repentance be needed? Are there persons to whom you owe an amends? End this day where it began, fully yielded to the indwelling mind of Christ, and I'll meet you again tomorrow on this fifty-day journey of reflection and renewal. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. In Jesus' name, amen.
