The conflict between the Spirit and the flesh is real, but it is not the end of your story. Through Romans 8:37, you'll learn that your victory is not found in your own strength, determination, or spiritual maturity. It is found in the finished work of Jesus Christ, who has already overcome on your behalf.

In today's episode, you'll learn why victory belongs to every believer in Christ, how the Holy Spirit empowers you to live from that victory each day, and why your present struggles can never define your eternal future.

 Welcome to the Yielded Mind's 50-day journey of reflection and renewal. My name is Eric Hayes, and this is your daily invitation to quiet the noise, yield your thoughts to the indwelling Holy Spirit, and allow Him to renew your mind through the truth of Scripture. If you've not done so already, please download your free companion journal by visiting theyieldedmind.com and clicking The Journal. Doing so will best equip you to follow along as we walk through these 50 days together. Now, please pause and begin where every yielded mind begins, gratitude. In your journal, write down three things you're grateful for today. Consider sharing those gratefuls with someone you love, because gratitude shared strengthens both the one that gives thanks and the one that receives it. Now take a slow breath and prepare your heart for today's passage and teaching. Ask the Lord to make His Word personal. Ask Him for revelation. Ask Him to expose all things that need to come under His authority. The yielded mind is formed through surrender. Open your heart. Open your journal. Open your mind to the indwelling Holy Spirit. Here is today's teaching. Welcome to day 14 of your 50 day journey of reflection and renewal. Throughout conflict week, you've discovered that the battle between the spirit and the flesh is a normal part of the Christian life. You've learned that your thoughts must be brought under the authority of Jesus Christ, that every voice should be tested against God's Word, that God is faithful in every temptation, that a mind set on the Spirit produces life and peace, and that your strength comes from the indwelling Holy Spirit. Today, you complete this conflict week by discovering where every spiritual battle ultimately leads. Today's lesson is called Victory Through Christ, and today's passage is found in Romans chapter 8, verse 37, reading from the ESV translation. "In all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans eight begins by declaring that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. And Romans eight ends by declaring that you are more than a conqueror through him, through Christ who loves you. That is not an accident. Paul wants you to understand that the Christian life is not defined by defeat. Yes, the conflict between the spirit and the flesh is real, temptation is real, discouragement is real, the battle for your mind is real. Yet none of these realities have the final word. Christ does. Notice that Paul doesn't say you become a conqueror through your determination, your discipline, or your spiritual maturity. The victory, friend, has already been secured by Jesus Christ through his death, burial, and resurrection. The Holy Spirit now works within you, renewing your mind and strengthening you to live in the reality of that victory each and every day. Victory does not mean you'll never struggle. Victory means your struggle no longer determines your identity or your future. Friend, every time you choose to trust God's truth instead of fear, every time you reject a lie and embrace his Word and his truth, every time you yield your mind to the indwelling Holy Spirit, you are walking in the victory Christ has already won. The battle is real, but God's grace is greater. The flesh is persistent, but the Holy Spirit is more powerful. Your struggles are temporary, but Christ's victory is eternal. Come on, somebody. A yielded mind no longer measures life by today's struggle. A yielded mind rests in the finished work of Jesus Christ and walks forward with confidence knowing that the one who began a good work in you will faithfully bring it to completion Today, yield your mind to this truth. Your struggles do not define your future. Through Jesus Christ, you have been given His victory, and the Holy Spirit will faithfully strengthen you to walk in victory every single day. Let's pray. Father, thank you for the victory you have secured through your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank you that this listener does not face life's battles alone or fight for victory in their own strength. Remind them, Father, that every struggle is held securely in your hands and that your Holy Spirit is faithfully at work within them. Renew their mind as they yield their thoughts, their will, and their emotions to you. Fill them with courage, perseverance, and unwavering confidence in the finished work of Christ. May they leave this week encouraged, strengthened, and ready to continue walking with you one faithful step at a time. And I pray this in the precious and perfect name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen. As today's teaching comes to a close, do not rush past what the Holy Spirit may be revealing. Return now to your journal. Write down the revelation you have received. What truth stood out? What challenged your thinking? Next, prayerfully consider opportunities to serve today. Ask God who He might place in your path. How can you encourage, help, listen to, strengthen, or simply be present for someone in need? Be specific. Journal who, when, and how you plan to serve. And finally, as your day comes to an end this evening, return once more to your journal and invite the indwelling Holy Spirit to debrief about your day. Where was obedience strong? Where might repentance be needed? Are there persons to whom you owe an amends? End this day where it began, fully yielded to the indwelling mind of Christ, and I'll meet you again tomorrow on this fifty-day journey of reflection and renewal. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. In Jesus' name, amen.
