The Yielded Mind Podcast
Created for those who desire lasting transformation, this podcast guides you through the daily practice of renewing your mind through the work of the indwelling Holy Spirit. In a world filled with pressure, noise, and constant demands, many attempt to change through effort, discipline, and control. True transformation does not come from striving. Transformation comes as the mind yields to the Spirit of God already at work within. Your host is Eric Hayes, minister, teacher, and author of The Yielded Mind. His work equips believers to step out of self-driven effort and walk in daily surrender, where the Holy Spirit brings lasting change from within. This is not a podcast for reflection. This is a pathway to transformation.

Welcome to The Yielded Mind's 50-day journey of reflection and renewal. My name is Eric Hayes, and this is your daily invitation to quiet the noise, yield your thoughts to the indwelling Holy Spirit, and allow Him to renew your mind through the truth of scripture. If you've not done so already, please download your free companion journal by visiting theyieldedmind.com and clicking The Journal. Doing so will best equip you to follow along as we walk through these 50 days together. Now, please pause and begin where every yielded mind begins, gratitude. In your journal, write down three things you're grateful for today. Consider sharing those gratefuls with someone you love, because gratitude shared strengthens both the one that gives thanks and the one that receives it. Now take a slow breath and prepare your heart for today's passage and teaching. Ask the Lord to make His word personal. Ask Him for revelation. Ask Him to expose all things that need to come under His authority. The yielded mind is formed through surrender. Open your heart. Open your journal. Open your mind to the indwelling Holy Spirit. Here is today's teaching. Welcome to day 21 of your 50-day journey of reflection and renewal. This week, your journey centers on discipline. Revelation helped you see who God says you are. Conflict taught you that the Christian life includes a real battle between the spirit and the flesh. Discipline has shown you how God shapes a renewed mind through His Word, stillness, gratitude, service, and obedience. Today, you reach the final lesson of the week. Every discipline you've explored points toward one lifelong reality: walking with the Holy Spirit every day. Today's lesson is called A Daily Walk, and today's passage is found in Galatians chapter five, verse 25. And I am going to read from the Amplified Bible. "If we claim to live by the Holy Spirit, we must also walk by the Spirit with personal integrity, godly character, and moral courage, our conduct empowered by the Holy Spirit." Paul wrote Galatians to believers who were being tempted to depend on rules and religious performance instead of God's grace. Earlier in chapter five of this epistle, Paul contrasts the works of the flesh with the works of the Spirit. One way of living is driven by human effort. The other is produced by the indwelling Holy Spirit. Paul concludes with a simple but profound instruction: If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. The Greek word we translate as walk in this passage was used to describe soldiers marching in formation. Each soldier moved in rhythm with the leader, neither rushing ahead nor falling behind. Such a walk is not accomplished through dramatic moments alone. Faithfulness grows through ordinary daily choices. Each morning invites you to trust God's Word. Each conversation allows you to reflect the character of Christ, and each temptation becomes another occasion to obey the leading of the Holy Spirit. A lifetime of spiritual maturity is built one faithful step at a time. Looking back over this week, you've learned that discipline begins by remaining in God's Word. Stillness helps you recognize His presence. Gratitude trains your mind to remember His faithfulness. Serving others shapes the heart of a servant, and obedience transforms truth into daily living. Today's lesson, friend, gathers all of those disciplines into one invitation. Walk by the Holy Spirit. No formula can replace that relationship. No checklist can substitute for His presence. Every day becomes an invitation to follow the one who already dwells within you. A yielded mind does not strive to stay ahead of God or lag behind Him. A yielded mind learns to walk alongside Him, trusting His wisdom, following His direction, and depending upon His strength with each new step. Today, friend, yield your mind to this truth. A transformed life is built one faithful step at a time as you walk daily alongside the Holy Spirit. Let's pray. Father, thank you for giving this listener the gift of your indwelling Holy Spirit. Continue teaching them to recognize your voice and to follow your leading with humble confidence each day. Renew their mind as they yield their thoughts, their will, and their emotions to your Holy Spirit. Strengthen their faith, Father, to trust you in every decision, every conversation, and every opportunity to obey. May each step draw them into deeper fellowship with Christ until the character of Christ becomes increasingly evident in their life. And I pray this in the precious and perfect name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen. As today's teaching comes to a close, do not rush past what the Holy Spirit may be revealing. Return now to your journal. Write down the revelation you have received. What truth stood out? What challenged your thinking? Next, prayerfully consider opportunities to serve today. Ask God who He might place in your path. How can you encourage, help, listen to, strengthen, or simply be present for someone in need? Be specific. Journal who, when, and how you plan to serve. And finally, as your day comes to an end this evening, return once more to your journal and invite the indwelling Holy Spirit to debrief about your day. Where was obedience strong? Where might repentance be needed? Are there persons to whom you owe an amends? End this day where it began, fully yielded to the indwelling mind of Christ, and I'll meet you again tomorrow on this 50-day journey of reflection and renewal. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. In Jesus' name, amen.
