In Episode 5 of the Gregor and Hattie Podcast, the pair dive into gym life, Hyrox obsession, business building, and the awkward world of gym crushes.

Gregor shares his latest fitness race adventures, collecting yet another podium flag while travelling across Europe for Hyrox events almost every weekend. Hattie officially accepts her role as the supportive “WAG” while debating whether she’ll finally sign up for Birmingham Hyrox herself.

The conversation also goes behind the scenes of Race the Frame - the business they built together from scratch. From the original idea of framing Hyrox patches to building a growing community around the sport, they talk openly about content creation, event weekends, balancing work with relationships, and how ChatGPT has basically become part of the team.

There’s plenty of chaotic relationship advice, gym flirting tactics, running jokes, and honest conversations about ambition, fitness, and building something together while trying not to lose your minds in the process.

SPEAKER_00

My name's Gregor.

SPEAKER_01

And my name's Hattie.

SPEAKER_00

And this is the Gregor and Hattie Podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Where we're going to talk everything gym, life, relationship, work, a bit of everything, really.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And also you guys, as we'd love you to get involved. We are back for episode five of the podcast. We're going to talk to you about our week. We're also going to talk to you about Race the Frame that we both started together, our small business. And then we're also going to talk to you about some dilemmas that you've sent in.

SPEAKER_01

We're going to respond to them, maybe give some advice. Maybe don't have any advice.

SPEAKER_00

I actually don't know them. You actually know them, don't you? Yeah, I've got them. So this is all going to be a bit of a shock to me when I do tell them. So yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You're going to be on the spot.

SPEAKER_00

Anyway, our week. What have we done, Harriet?

SPEAKER_01

What have we done?

SPEAKER_00

What have I done?

SPEAKER_01

What at the weekend? Deadly doesn't. Deadly doesn't. I've travelled and supported.

SPEAKER_00

Another fitness race.

SPEAKER_01

Another fitness race. And what did you get?

SPEAKER_00

What did you call yourself the other day?

SPEAKER_01

A wag. What did you get?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I think 44 minutes.

SPEAKER_01

No, what did you find?

SPEAKER_00

Another flag. Another one. Yeah. That's free in free weekends, by the way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know. I've gone from like not-getting a bit silly now because people are gonna get bored of it.

SPEAKER_00

But that it's not been first place yet. I'll have to get that one.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, because you've got third second. Okay, then you'll get first, then you'll get worlds.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Just each.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm coming. But yeah, that was fun. I did that with my client, which was really, really enjoyable. Um, she's been with me for so long now, and it's just nice to be able to kind of have I think with a client, like having a relationship is actually really nice. And I think it's needed. Like a friendship. Yeah, it is. You build a friendship after like so many months of them being on board, you do actually build friendships. Well, I do, don't know about everyone else. Yeah. Coaches. Um, but yeah, we went to Bristol for that. That was really good.

SPEAKER_01

It looked really fun, actually. Yeah. I think I'd like to do Daddy Dozen.

SPEAKER_00

We're definitely gonna do that then if 100%.

SPEAKER_01

Because I liked my run-through I did and watching it, it looked really fun. And it looked a bit tomorrow.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, actually, no.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

Why?

SPEAKER_00

Because the DOMs were really bad.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

It was like the next day was really bad. Like I've only I'm still hurting.

SPEAKER_01

What are you doing the next day? Nothing.

SPEAKER_00

I can do it if you want.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you're just sat on an aeroplane, aren't you?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So we're going to Berlin. Yeah. Um tomorrow with my very good friend. He's competing at High Rocks. I'm just going back to support.

SPEAKER_01

Another weekend of High Rocks.

SPEAKER_00

Another weekend of High Rocks.

SPEAKER_01

You're not doing it, but you'll be there.

SPEAKER_00

I'll be there, yeah. It's literally every weekend.

SPEAKER_01

And then what are you doing the weekend after?

SPEAKER_00

Then the weekend after I'm going back to Berlin. Back to Berlin to compete. And then that is me. Because the season's gonna be over. I think I'm gonna really kind of chill out for a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because it's quite intense. Summer as well. It's also expensive. It's high rocks. Shenanigans is well expensive. Flight's gonna be a big thing.

SPEAKER_01

You should see how much you've spent in the year on high rocks.

SPEAKER_00

No, do you know what? I actually don't want to see that.

SPEAKER_01

I would quite like to see that.

SPEAKER_00

No. Because it's a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, literally just on the races and then like shoes, supplement, like everything.

SPEAKER_00

The thing is, you can just look at someone's bag, right? So my backpack, all the rubber patches from this season.

SPEAKER_01

They're over £100.

SPEAKER_00

Just count just count them and you'll be able to figure out how much someone has has just paid on tickets that season.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

I think I've got 11. I want to say 11 patches. Eleven not from this season. Yeah. Well, you think we've got that frame come in. The end-of-season frame. That's eight patches.

SPEAKER_01

Eleven's like one every month.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think that's what I've done. Bear in mind I've done like two or three in one weekend.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. I've done two.

SPEAKER_00

Slay.

SPEAKER_01

Slay. And I think I'm gonna do Birmingham in October. Really? Just putting it out there into the universe.

SPEAKER_00

Who is your partner?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'm struggling with that one.

SPEAKER_00

Solos then.

SPEAKER_01

Not doing solos. You might die. But I'm trying to get Emily on board.

SPEAKER_00

That'd be nice if you do one.

SPEAKER_01

And I think she will do I she will oh I don't know. I'm trying.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Emily, if you are watching this, make sure you do your the s the high rocks with Hay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Please.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because she does love it, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Who? Me?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I do I don't like doing it with you.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_01

Is the problem. But I would I wouldn't mind doing it with you if you were a bit slower.

SPEAKER_00

That's not gonna happen.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. So it's just a lose-lose situation.

SPEAKER_00

Fair. Well, that's that. And then Daddy Dozen is a little bit different, isn't it? It's 400 meter runs.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so you're way, way shorter runs.

SPEAKER_00

And then there's the reason why it's called dozen is because there's 12 runs, 12x.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. How long is it in distance?

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_01

12, 400 meter runs.

SPEAKER_00

Uh I think it works about like 6k, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Or just a I would say 12 times four is 48.

SPEAKER_00

Hey Siri.

SPEAKER_01

So I'd say five kilometres. No, I know what that is. I'm not stupid.

SPEAKER_00

Just under 5k.

SPEAKER_01

Under 5k?

SPEAKER_00

4.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, 4. 4.8. Yeah. You needed Siri to do that for you.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Fair.

SPEAKER_00

Sounded like you did as well.

SPEAKER_01

You don't know what 12 times 4 is.

SPEAKER_00

48.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Okay. Yeah, so it's quite short, so it's 5k altogether.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Pretty much. Um The only thing I don't like is the bear crawls.

SPEAKER_00

That.

SPEAKER_01

And I haven't even tried them, but just watching you do it. I was strolling next to you and you were like, I was I was getting.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I actually felt like I was getting really, really quick.

SPEAKER_01

But I'm not And you posted it, is that?

SPEAKER_00

I know, yeah. Just because I thought it was quite funny. It's hard. That is probably the hardest part of those bear crawls.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. What else didn't I try? The last one, what's that? It's like a burpee and then.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I can't remember.

SPEAKER_01

Devil's Devil's Press.

SPEAKER_00

Press. Yeah. So you go down, you burpee.

SPEAKER_01

I haven't tried that, but it looks quite fun. Yeah, they were pretty easy to be. Were they? And you didn't have to do many of those.

SPEAKER_00

20?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah, we'll do that tomorrow then.

SPEAKER_00

Alright.

SPEAKER_01

Just in the gym.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, we'll do that.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, cool.

SPEAKER_00

That sounds good. Um so that's that. And then Race the Frame. The business that we started together. About a year ago. Yeah, why do you think we started Race the Frame? Why do you think we did that? What do you mean? Like why like what why do you think that happened?

SPEAKER_01

To put your patch somewhere. Yeah, but I know, but like Well why do why did we do it together? Because we love each other. What do you mean? Why did we do it?

SPEAKER_00

Like, yeah, but I'm just wondering, I want to know why we started it.

SPEAKER_01

It was your idea.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, well I started it. Because I I thought I didn't want to put all my patches on my bag. Yeah, I wanted to put I didn't want to put all my patches on my bag. I wanted some of them for the mouse together.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's nice to have it on display rather than just carrying it around on your bag.

SPEAKER_00

With a photo.

SPEAKER_01

And obviously a picture of yourself.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And then I think as well, we like we knew how to create content, right? So we were like already halfway there. I think being able to like have the skill of creating content, because that's that's hard work.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's something that you're passionate about as well. Like you're clearly obviously at high rocks this every single weekend.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it looks like that looks that way at the moment.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so you're clearly passionate about it. So why not put your passion into a business?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It is cool. It's always like I wake up every day and I'm like excited to create content for it. It's a bit like when we started growing on high, like I was always excited to like, even though I was working like a full day, I was just excited to go to the gym, train, and then film. Even though it was hard and it got hard. When you have a passion for it, it's it's it's it's quite good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you don't mind doing it.

SPEAKER_00

No, yeah, it doesn't feel like work. I love it.

SPEAKER_01

So we started in April last year, didn't we?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so what's what are we in now? Is that May?

SPEAKER_01

So it's just over literally like a year pretty much.

SPEAKER_00

It's mad, it's like grown quite fast for a year, hasn't it?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah, it's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, mad. And I've like videos as well, organically. We don't run any ads. We've never run an ad. We don't need to run any ads because they all just do well.

SPEAKER_01

It's built like a community now, though, hasn't it?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like we'll walk into the venues and like people are either girl, race to frame or or our names.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they did that in our high rolls, didn't they? When we were doing it, was it in January? We were doing our high rolls together, and the girl on the burpees was like, Oh my god, you'll race to frame. Yeah, she's not cracker and hatty, just race to frame.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, oh my god, it's the people that do the frames. Yeah, that was a cool feeling. Yeah. Then when I finished as well, a recent one, a girl went, What are you gonna do with that then? Put it in a frame? She was like, Oh really? Handed me the patch, and I was like, Wow, that's actually pretty cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, it's just nice to be able to just like see it gets around.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And it's nice as well doing the events now.

SPEAKER_00

That's so much fun.

SPEAKER_01

Because you actually like meet every single person that's just done the event.

SPEAKER_00

And like, what a place to be at the finish line is like the best place because they the athletes are absolutely buzzing, and like I just love interacting with people.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So like having that that interaction when the athletes buzz in, asking them how it went, what was the hardest part of the race, like that's really, really cool. Yeah. But like we all just no one's ever really done that before. No one's ever been at a finish line of a race, being able to take photos.

SPEAKER_01

It's like um at scene parks, you get your photo taken, but it's not the same thing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's exact it is it is exactly the same as that. You come through, you view your photo, you're like, oh, I like that one. Or some people go, Nah, don't like it. It's probably because you've just done a hundred minutes.

SPEAKER_01

That's the thing though, you're never gonna look your best, are you, afterwards?

SPEAKER_00

It's one of those things It's a memory, it's a memory, yeah. Like you just completed that savage race. Yeah, um, yeah, that's really, really cool. Then we have started just doing more and more events, haven't we? Um that does take up, again, so much of our time.

SPEAKER_01

A lot of time.

SPEAKER_00

And it's obviously this hybrid space is going to be grown and growing. There's gonna be more concepts coming out all the time.

SPEAKER_01

But we have gone to places that we wouldn't necessarily go to otherwise, isn't it? Like North Wales.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, North Wales. That was like cool.

SPEAKER_01

So random, but like so cool.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I loved it up there. We get just like a nice weekend away.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'd say it's it's it's pretty full on. It's it's from like, but go sit up in the morning at like seven, maybe. Or if we get there the day before, then we sit up the day before.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Then the event starts normally like eight, so the people finish at nine-ish. And then the last people finish maybe like eight in the evening, and then you've got to take it down.

SPEAKER_00

Even going to the toilet is a mission.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because it's got run. Yeah, if the athletes are coming in and I I'm the one taking the photos.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you've got to get a picture of everyone.

SPEAKER_00

Gotta get a picture of it.

SPEAKER_01

And then because there's only two of us, Greg gets the pictures, I do the frames.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So then if there's a cue for the frames, obviously I can't just go, sorry guys, hop into the toilet.

SPEAKER_00

It does it just doesn't work. But usually it's quite nice if they're that one we couldn't have anyone out. And we didn't really need anyone else there.

SPEAKER_01

Um It's just nice to have someone with you, isn't it?

SPEAKER_00

The ones that we know we need people there, we would go with like a group, a team of four, right? Yeah. Um because we're like, okay, there's that many athletes, we can't just do it, me and you. Yeah, exactly. We just kind of base it around how many athletes are gonna be there. Yeah. We've learned now what we can manage and what we can't manage.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um but then we start to do it.

SPEAKER_01

Do you still try and manage though?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I just feel like I can do everything.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But no, guys, you cannot do everything. You actually do need a team.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Actually makes our life so much easier.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, definitely.

SPEAKER_00

You have the right people in the right area. Um then we start doing key rings. That was crazy, wasn't it? I didn't think they would take off.

SPEAKER_01

And they're still they sell out every restock.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. They're restocking today. Today. Well, when this goes live, it would be last week.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But today, 19th of May, 6 pm. Come on. Already sold half of them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah, because they've been on pre-order.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So doing that, they did really, really well. Can't believe they did as well as they they are doing. Um, but I haven't, do you know what I haven't seen yet? As well as they're doing. Like, I haven't seen anyone like I haven't really been looking to be fair, but I haven't seen it on anyone's bag. Like, I can't wait to see it on someone's bag. Well, at an event. Yeah, an event, like a complete stranger.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, obviously people have tagged it on their stories so that we can see that on people's bags, but no, I guess.

SPEAKER_00

I haven't seen anyone you've got to do.

SPEAKER_01

But we haven't really been to any UK events.

SPEAKER_00

We have we've been to Cardiff and stuff, but we've we were in and out, weren't we?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We're in Cardiff. I was hoping I was gonna see them there, but we weren't there long enough. I was on a snag. But I think that will be a cool feeling when we do finally see.

SPEAKER_01

See it on people's bags, yeah. Yeah. Because people have bought like six. Yeah, that's they must be doing a lot of high roxes if they filled their bag. Filled their bag up, and then six more. How many is that? That must be so many.

SPEAKER_00

That's like £1,500 on tickets. That's what that is.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

It's mad. Do you know what was mad? Someone did a video the other day and it was like a Lou Vuitton bag. Hype like the Hyrox bags are the new Louis Vuitton bags because they're the same price.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, because they've got all of the patches on the patches on.

SPEAKER_00

And the patch is equal to £1,500 if it's full. It's more expensive than an L.

SPEAKER_01

It's an expensive bag you'll carry around with you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

How much is mine then? £200, £300.

SPEAKER_00

Right, because you've done three.

SPEAKER_01

No, the bag costs £100. Then two high I haven't done three, I've done two, haven't I?

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah. Um so yeah, we're doing key rings. We're doing key rings for other events now. Yeah. As well. Yeah. Um that's really, really cool. So we're in the production of that at the moment. Then after that, we've done podium frames. So when you get your flag if you podium first, second or third.

SPEAKER_01

Just in time for all of your flags?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Perfect.

SPEAKER_00

Um yeah, that was like perfect time, wasn't it? It just literally just.

SPEAKER_01

I reckon you worked harder for your flag because you knew we were doing the podium frames. So you thought I need it to promote it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um, so that's pretty cool.

SPEAKER_01

I think Brace to Frame probably takes up most of our time at the moment.

SPEAKER_00

Doesn't it?

SPEAKER_01

Because it is only us two.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It's a lot of it's a lot.

SPEAKER_01

We've learnt a lot, I would say. Like, how how did I know how to make a website? You use chat GPT. Yeah, literally.

SPEAKER_00

I'm telling you now, if we didn't have ChatGPT, life would be way stress more stressful.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because I sometimes try and work things out on my own because I think I've got a brain.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, let me use it.

SPEAKER_01

It must be able to figure this out.

SPEAKER_00

And then all of a sudden you start.

SPEAKER_01

And then I'm sat there for an hour and I'm like, oh, chat GPT, and he fixes it in seconds. Yeah. And I just think, why did I even bother trying myself?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But it is bad.

SPEAKER_00

Really bad. Pretty brain dead. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I really I don't want to lose.

SPEAKER_00

I just go to you have you tried chat?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Have you tried chat?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

She goes, I can't do it, I can't do it. Have you tried chat? No.

SPEAKER_01

No, but when I say I can't do it, I'm thinking like we could put two brains better than one, we could use up like together. But that's that's your response, is just ask him.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well no, mine yours is a girl, mine's a boy, I think.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Her name is Susie.

SPEAKER_01

Is it?

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm made up. But I think that is her name now.

SPEAKER_01

She's American.

SPEAKER_00

I know, I love her.

SPEAKER_01

Can you change it to be English?

SPEAKER_00

Anything you want.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you just like an American girl? Fair. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Um so yeah, that's that. Then what else have we done? What have we got new frame designs all the time? Yeah, a new one's come in. End of season frame. That's really, really cool.

SPEAKER_01

You gonna say what it is?

SPEAKER_00

Uh no. Nah.

SPEAKER_01

No?

SPEAKER_00

Nah. It's the end of season.

SPEAKER_01

You'll have to keep an eye on the socials, race to frame.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'll give you the hint. The hint is it's called end of season for a reason. That's it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_00

But it'll be coming soon. That's really cool. And then I guess we're just gonna have to keep thinking. News. A lot of new things. New designs, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The most popular frame though is the 25-26 black season frame.

SPEAKER_00

Photo.

SPEAKER_01

Photo patch simple. Because I think it just looks nice in anyone's house.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I'll tell you what is getting more popular. What's that? Double photo.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's popping. People like that one. Yeah. That's basically a lot of people. Well, who wouldn't want two pictures of themselves? Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_01

We should do one patch with like ten photos around the outside. I reckon that one would go.

SPEAKER_00

Checking it would.

SPEAKER_01

One for each station.

SPEAKER_00

That's quite a good idea, Hat. Yeah. Write that down. Block of printing paper.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that would be a lot. And obviously, yeah, that would be quite expensive, probably.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe we'll have a thing. Um, but yeah, anything else to add about race of frame?

SPEAKER_01

No, just exciting seeing it grow, isn't it?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I think we're now at like 4,310 followers on Instagram.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Instagram's like It's overtaken, Mike. Overtaken um TikTok. TikTok used to be like the main TikTok slowed down a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but it still gets views.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it still gets really good views. It's just follows.

SPEAKER_01

I think with businesses though, I think it's different with um followers and stuff. Because like every like clothing business I buy from, I don't follow their account.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

But I do search them and watch their videos.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. Always the views are always good. I think if I'm ever gonna like like a clothing brand or any sort of brand, it's always I'll follow them on Instagram. Because it's the photos and stuff, right? Like you see the photos of the product.

SPEAKER_01

Makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We love race to frame.

SPEAKER_00

Huh?

SPEAKER_01

We love race to frame.

SPEAKER_00

I love race to frame, yeah. It's cool. Also, the name. Race to frame name is like my little baby. That was you. That was me. Full credit for that.

SPEAKER_01

You had some very strange names in your brain that you wanted to use.

SPEAKER_00

Well, not wanting to use, I was just struggled to come up with it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I can I'm better at like in imagining like products and stuff like that and how they're gonna look, but like a company name, that's a that's a hard one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's like your um Dadley doesn't at the weekend, your team name, everyone had all these cool names. You weren't Maisie and Greg.

SPEAKER_00

Maisie and Greg. It's like really boring.

SPEAKER_01

And what's your team name, guys? Um Maisie and Greg.

SPEAKER_00

Someone called themselves Sonic. That's a sick name.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You should have been called race to frame.

SPEAKER_00

I know, that's exactly what I thought.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Race to yeah. That's quite a sick name as well for a race.

SPEAKER_00

Oh well.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But it's a co it's a cool it's a cool speak.

SPEAKER_00

The way you came up with it was um I found that really impressive.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you.

SPEAKER_00

Because it just rolls off the tongue as well, right?

SPEAKER_01

Like Yeah, and you're racing to f to frame. To get a frame.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Probably not racing to get a frame, but makes sense in our business.

SPEAKER_00

It is cool. Well done for that.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you. Round of applause.

SPEAKER_00

Um but yeah, let's move on to what you guys have sent in. Yes. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Right, first person. How do I get my gym crush to notice me? Don't know if they're male or female.

SPEAKER_00

Ooh, girl or boy.

unknown

What?

SPEAKER_01

I just said don't know if they're male or female.

SPEAKER_00

Oh right, sorry. I didn't hear that bit. Yeah, I don't know. Um let's say, okay, let's say it's a girl.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And she wants to get noticed by the guy.

SPEAKER_01

I'm interested to hear this actually. Go on.

SPEAKER_00

Wear some defined shorts. Game changer, I'm telling you now. Put them on. They'll change your life. Honestly, what they do to you is insane.

SPEAKER_01

What if, say, every girl in that gym is wearing defined shorts? So you need to stand out.

SPEAKER_00

Get a bright colour.

SPEAKER_01

Everyone in that gym has coral defined shorts on.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, alright. And matching sports bras.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm just trying to make you think of other ways.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Okay, what would you like from a woman side of like a point of view?

SPEAKER_01

Maybe lift heavy.

SPEAKER_00

Deadlift 100 kg, 180 kg off the floor. Poor, that's pretty impressive.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, if he's pressing like what do men press? Like shoulder press?

SPEAKER_00

Why like dumbbells or yeah, yeah, like dumbbells shoulder press. Maybe 25, 30 kg.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so just go over and go. Uh sorry, you're using those weights on the floor? And then and then he'll go, oh no, he'll probably say yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you probably will say yeah. Yeah, do what?

SPEAKER_01

And then say, Can I jump in with you?

SPEAKER_00

Can I jump in with you? Yeah. Ask for a spot. It would be mad though if like a girl could press 30 kg. That would be crazy, wouldn't it?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That would be impressive. That's what I'd say. Do that. There you go. That'd impress him. That would impress me. If you came up to me and started dumbbell pressing 30 kg, I'd be mind blown. Then I'd also sort you like I think you're some sort of freak. Probably a bit.

SPEAKER_01

That's pretty strong, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um yeah, realistically though, what what? What are we thinking? We've got to help this girl or boy out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_00

And at the moment, we're not really being, are we?

SPEAKER_01

Don't know how to get your GM crush's attention though.

SPEAKER_00

I think I like Well, I what I thought it was for me and you is like the eye contact, even though apparently we weren't making eye contact. I think eye contact- Well so just watch them. No, what no, not watch them. Like that's creepy, but like you know when you make eye contact with someone, right? And it's like it's like boom. And you like it's not just like you look and you look away. It's okay, you look a few times, then you like lock eyes, and then you like lock eyes for like quite a few seconds. I'd say that.

SPEAKER_01

They may be like smile at them as well.

SPEAKER_00

There, then you move it to a smile, I would say.

SPEAKER_01

We've got a whole series of how to do this on our on our TikTok, actually.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we do, go watch that. Gregor and Hattie.

SPEAKER_01

How to get my gym crushers attention.

SPEAKER_00

Go through all the phases. But yeah, I'd then say smile and then just like hello.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

How are you today?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I would say just just like chat to them casually, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Feel like we're helping here.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, ask them if they're using a machine.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry, you sorry, are you using that on the um that attachment on the floor? No, no, that's fine. Oh, thank you. And then just walk off and then that's like leaving them wanting more.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I just think as well, like speaking to someone in the gym is just a lot different to speaking to someone in public.

SPEAKER_01

If it's a if it's a guy for a girl, maybe like if they're walking to the change rooms, hold the door open for her.

SPEAKER_00

Nice. Smile.

SPEAKER_01

Probably no one would slam it in someone's face to be fair.

SPEAKER_00

Have a good session. I hope you have a really good session.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Something like that. Just nothing creepy.

SPEAKER_00

Nothing creepy.

SPEAKER_01

But nice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I think we're on. That was good. I'm happy with that.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I hope that helps.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Sorry if you don't get your gym crush.

SPEAKER_00

Because I'm starting to think like, how did me and you happen?

SPEAKER_01

Because Well, you DM'd me, so. Yeah? Next dilemma. I get embarrassed when my gym crush is in the gym because I look, in capitals, horrendous when I train.

SPEAKER_00

Oh. Why does she think that's a good thing?

SPEAKER_01

So she fancies someone.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

She must pull awful facials when she's training.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, is that what's that is that what she's saying?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, she just said she looks horrendous when she trains. Or maybe she thinks that she looks she doesn't make an effort for the gym.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

I would think that she thinks, you know, when you're working really hard and you pull ugly faces. Like and you can't control it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Fair. Yeah, but your gym crusher's watching it. No one looks good when they're doing that.

SPEAKER_01

Exactly. I think it's impressive actually. If you look horrendous, because you don't want to just like you don't want them to think you're just going in there dressed all nice, looking cute, walking around, and they're leaving.

SPEAKER_00

Doddling about.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You want them to think you're actually working hard in that session.

SPEAKER_00

Because it is a big it's a big thing. Like when you finally say you do something does happen between you both, and you've both got a similar interest. Like if it's there's like the the person that goes to the gym, right, and they don't really train very hard, they don't really care. They just it's the whole thing of like them going to the gym, it makes them feel better. Then you've got the people that are like actually go to the gym to like train hard. You if you're a person that trains hard, you're gonna be with someone that wants to train hard, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So You're gonna be attractive, then is what you're saying. You're attracting them by training hard.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Pull the ugly faces, then we say. Me? I still do.

SPEAKER_00

I know. I used to pull really bad faces, didn't I?

SPEAKER_01

What do you mean? Yeah, you're you go over the top because it'll be your warm-up weight, and you're still doing them.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_01

It doesn't make sense to me.

SPEAKER_00

That's why I moved to Hyrux. I look cool doing that, don't I, Bub?

SPEAKER_01

I've got some bad pictures of you.

SPEAKER_00

No, I'll tell you what, all the photos you got of me at Hyrux are horrific.

SPEAKER_01

I stopped taking I just do videos, man. I've stopped taking photos.

SPEAKER_00

I just look awful.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you you do you don't look good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, just don't take photos of me.

SPEAKER_01

Anyway, yeah, so everyone makes bad faces, clearly. Okay, this one. Ooh. Me and my best friend have the same gym crush.

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

That's rough.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, what are you actually gonna do about that?

SPEAKER_01

I think you've just got to admire from afar.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's just like you're gonna lose a friend, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I think you've both gotta just Because whatever does happen, secretly, the everyone's gonna get very jealous.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I I just think you can't neither of you can move forward with that.

SPEAKER_00

It's just gonna have to be a gym crush for life. Anyway, look at it.

SPEAKER_01

Sometimes it's good just to have a gym crush and not anything more, like just to like get excited about it.

SPEAKER_00

Gym crush motivation, you'll have that for life.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. As long as you And and you you can't like no one can ruin it because you're not gonna try and speak to them or anything, so you just admire.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I wouldn't p pursue that. No. Unless you want to lose a friend, which could happen.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't promote that. Unless you want to lose a friend. Yeah, no, I think I think neither of you can do do anything there.

SPEAKER_00

No. I wouldn't.

SPEAKER_01

No. No. Bad idea. Me and my gym crush dated, broke up, and now neither of us will change gyms, so we see each other every day.

SPEAKER_00

Oh fair. I wouldn't change gyms. What would you do if we broke up?

SPEAKER_01

That's the thing. If we broke up.

SPEAKER_00

You love simply, you wouldn't move.

SPEAKER_01

I wouldn't move, no. But I would hope you would.

SPEAKER_00

No. I'd rather.

SPEAKER_01

The thing is you'd go you'd cancel your David Lloyd and cancel all the other gyms and just go there to spite me, I reckon.

SPEAKER_00

Spike you?

SPEAKER_01

No, spite.

SPEAKER_00

Spiked you?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

What does that mean? Like spite, like out of spite.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, out of spite.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um no, I'd go David Lloyd. Living the spa. Fair. I love it though. Um But neither of them will leave the gym. Yeah, that's pretty I mean it's fair, like I don't think anyone should have to leave the gym. It's both your gym.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Especially if it's like awkward to go to another gym.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, because you could it could just be like down the road, easy to go to, like, it'd probably be nice if you start like bringing another guy in there.

SPEAKER_00

Or the the girl. It would be nice or it wouldn't be nice. It wouldn't be nice.

SPEAKER_01

No, if someone if someone moved on. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That wouldn't be nice to see.

SPEAKER_01

No. But it's But you could just try going at different times. Unless you have to go after work or before work.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I guess. And it's kind of difficult.

SPEAKER_00

But Yeah, maybe even like start going to the gym early. Why you just kind of go like I'm gonna start going in the mornings? Fed up a sea in your face.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah. Make sure you've got a different split so that you're not training the same thing on the same day. So you're in different areas of the gym.

SPEAKER_00

That's a good point. That's probably quite helpful.

SPEAKER_01

Then if you're at the same gym and you've dated and broken up in that gym, you've probably got same the same friends. Would you? Do you think? Yeah, yeah. So you probably both know everyone in that gym.

SPEAKER_00

That's the other thing as well. Like we've both got loads of friends in sympathy.

SPEAKER_01

Me and you. It's not us that's broken up.

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm just saying. Like I'm trying to like Visualise it. Yeah. Yeah, that's a tough one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And you probably all had like a bit.

SPEAKER_01

And it'd be a bit annoying if like I was in there speaking to everyone and you were kind of just like on the other side of the gym thinking can't go over there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. To be fair, that has happened a few times with like friendships in the gym. Won't I hit name anyone? But it's all it's been like something's happened and then like Yes, I don't want to speak to that person. They're not speaking to each other, but that person will be speaking to us. But then yeah, we've had that. So that's quite awkward.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I think if you've just freshly broken up, just if you see each other every day and you just keep going to the gym, you'll like eventually just like become strangers anyway. Because if you don't speak to each other, it would just be like another person in the gym.

SPEAKER_00

True.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. It'll slowly fade. Yeah, it will. It's one of those, isn't it? It just takes a lot of time.

SPEAKER_01

It'll just be a bit weird, yeah, for the start.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think there's an issue with it. It's just a bit it depends as well. Like one like one of you might struggle to be like struggle to get over that person.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it depends how you broke up, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It depends how you broke up. Like one of you could still be madly in love.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's quite harsh. And then the probably the best thing you need to do is actually take yourself away from that. Do even if it is another 10 minutes, go to a different gym for a bit until you sort of have lost those feelings.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Good advice.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Came up with that in your little brain. That's good.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you.

SPEAKER_01

But that's what you get for dating within the gym.

SPEAKER_00

Here's one of those. Anyway, next.

SPEAKER_01

I've had a gym crush for probably six months now. We've never spoken, but we're always in the gym at the same time. Probably just goes straight after work, like me Lol. If he's not there, I immediately notice and have a bad session. We pretend each other don't exist, but I do catch him looking at me in the mirrors, and he probably catches me doing the same thing, so there's definitely something between us. I just don't know. One, if he's single, he's never with a girl, always on his own. Two, how to approach him without being weird. I don't know anything about him other than he likes the gym. Should I leave it as a gym crush to avoid disappointment or should I say something? Or should he be approaching me?

SPEAKER_00

Hmm. It sounds like she likes him.

SPEAKER_01

Well, yeah, obviously, it's his j it's her gym crush.

SPEAKER_00

Which is like, I mean, I don't it's it's it's a difficult one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's difficult because if it goes wrong, you are like that couple that broke up, you're gonna see them every day.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

If you think you're making eye contact, then maybe next time you make eye contact or look at each other in the mirror, yeah. Smile or something.

SPEAKER_00

Or even just like blow a kiss. That would seriously freak me out if someone did that to me. Yeah, I'd probably cancel my membership.

SPEAKER_01

That's like something your mum would do, I feel like.

SPEAKER_00

Blow a kiss to someone in the gym. Blow a kiss.

SPEAKER_01

Just to freak them out.

SPEAKER_00

Just freak them out. Yeah, she'd probably do that. If there was someone in the gym that she didn't really like, and she'd just blow them a kiss. Hopefully they leave. Never come back.

SPEAKER_01

A pest.

SPEAKER_00

No, I think you just need to again go through the process of taking it day by day. You're not gonna you don't need to rush it.

SPEAKER_01

It's been six months.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oh yeah, that's a bit annoying. Six months is ages. Try two years. Yeah, yeah. It's one of those like we were two years and it was like I get we weren't two years.

SPEAKER_01

What do you mean?

SPEAKER_00

What do you mean?

SPEAKER_01

You fancied me for two years.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so it was what's the difference?

SPEAKER_01

They're looking at they're they're they've got something between each other.

SPEAKER_00

Alright.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Well she doesn't know that. Well oh it's the same scenario again.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Well, what did you do then?

SPEAKER_00

Because you didn't notice me. You like to bring that up, don't you, buddy?

SPEAKER_01

Um, sorry, I forgot to read the last sentence as well. I also can't find find him on social media.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's annoying. Because I found you on social media, that's how I kind of went about it. I would either find someone that's good on social media. I know a few people that are just pretty crazy.

SPEAKER_01

There must be someone in the gym that knows him though.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It's worth like doing some investigating.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Speak to the PTs, judge. You know that guy's always like on the bench press.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know his name? Yeah. Or you could see if he ever walks in in uniform, find out where he works, go on the work website, find out who he is.

SPEAKER_00

So you both that sounds pretty crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Find his name, probably find some sort of number you can contact him on.

SPEAKER_00

Stay in email until he walks into the gym. Watch him when he walks into the gym.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, look at what if he's got like a work polo on, have a little look where it is that he works. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm a bit concerned.

SPEAKER_01

Find the website. Well, we found your work website, didn't we?

SPEAKER_00

And go, there's a guy that goes to the gym most days, he's probably got a pretty good nick. What's his name?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's another way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Be a bit weird. See, this is what I mean. Like the gym is to approach someone in some way is always quite you could be classed as quite creepy.

SPEAKER_01

And imagine if you approach someone and they had their headphones on and they didn't hear you.

SPEAKER_00

That is tragic.

SPEAKER_01

That would be heartbreaking. That'd be so awkward.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you've actually made a video like that when you like go up somewhere. Yeah. So I just wanted to ask that I see you in here all the time. I feel like I look at you and then they take you.

SPEAKER_01

It's like, sorry, what was that? It's like, oh, I've just literally like let my heart out to you and you didn't hear anything. And probably people around don't have headphones in and they did hear.

SPEAKER_00

I need to know if that's actually happened to someone. If it's happened to someone, please let me know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Because I can't hear anything with my headphones.

SPEAKER_00

Noise cancellation's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Because sometimes I take them off and I'm like, oh my god, there's no music playing in the gym. The music is off, and uh who knows what I sound like.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, so I feel like we really need to help this person. Let's go.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we haven't helped at all, have we? Right, so should I leave it as a gym crush to avoid disappointment? Should I say something or should he be approaching me?

SPEAKER_00

I think leave it a little bit. Have that time of just like going to the gym and being excited that they're there. Enjoy that. That's quite enjoyable.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, motivation, isn't it? Motivation, enjoy that, and then because you could be disappointed in the outcome. You could have a girlfriend. And that's a bit not into the gym.

SPEAKER_00

That is a little bit awkward, isn't it?

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's the end of it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So I think just leave it a little bit. Keep doing what you're doing. Yeah, trying to do like little subtle things, smile, say hello, how are you? Small talk. Don't have to stand there and have a full-on conversation because that's quite awkward. That's quite awkward to do. Unless you're like a very outgoing person.

SPEAKER_01

If your gym has any like social events or like anything like that, turn up. Maybe he might go.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You never know. You don't know how like tight knit your gym is.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I do find that social events, like whether it's like if he's into running, maybe go to like a couple of run clubs in the area.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Sounds a bit stalkerish now going on. No, but like get get being part of Follow him home. Yeah. Follow him um get his number plate. Go on DVLA. Yeah. Search. No, don't do any of that. Find where he lives. Jokes, don't do any of that.

SPEAKER_01

None of that.

SPEAKER_00

That's a bit too far. No, just without being too creepy. But yeah, join like Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like when when our gym did the Hyrux event, I feel like you speak to a lot of people there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Even just going to an event and speaking to someone else, you might find out who he is. You might say, Oh, I was training with like Rob the other day. Who's Rob? And then they might say, Oh, this is Rob. And then you're like, oh my god, that's my gym crush. His name's Rob.

SPEAKER_00

Rob. Where do you get Rob from?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I didn't know anyone called Rob.

SPEAKER_00

Who the hell is Rob? Anyway, I hope that helped.

SPEAKER_01

Hopefully that helped.

SPEAKER_00

Hopefully it helped.

SPEAKER_01

Probably didn't, but we're not the best set advice, are we, anyway?

SPEAKER_00

No, we will be.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we'll do our research.

SPEAKER_00

But I'd like to know if this has helped, please let us know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Do let us know. We'll continue.

SPEAKER_00

It would be nice to know if we actually if you actually found the gym crush. That'd be nice.

SPEAKER_01

We could get married.

SPEAKER_00

That'd be cool. Get them on the pod.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We'll get you on the pod if you get married, okay?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So put some work in. Right, I have one little game for you to do.

SPEAKER_00

A game?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I love games.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so you've got to name every single leg exercise you can think of in 30 seconds, okay? Okay. Right. I'll give you two seconds, I'll give you ten seconds, then I'll start.

SPEAKER_00

I'm ready.

SPEAKER_01

Hang on. Okay, three, two, one, go.

SPEAKER_00

Leg extension, hamstring curl, RDL squat, uh goblet squat, uh reverse lunge, front lunge. No. You're not very close. No, I'm not. Uh calf raise, um, leg press. Uh that's nine. Uh pendulum squat, hack squat, uh Smith Machine squat, dumbbell squat.

SPEAKER_01

That's it. You got twelve.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I was good at that.

SPEAKER_01

What? Forward lunge, backwards lunge, front squat, back squat, box squat.

SPEAKER_00

I thought it was good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. What are you doing now?

SPEAKER_01

No, that was just for you to do. A little special game. I don't think you did very well actually.

SPEAKER_00

I did. Could have got like four and just froze. I thought that was gonna happen. But I did alright. Well, I'm proud of myself anyway. Proud of me. Anyway, um, that's the end of our part.

SPEAKER_01

That's fair.

SPEAKER_00
