In Episode 6 of the Gregor and Hattie Podcast, the pair catch up after another packed week of Hyrox events, travel, training, and building Race the Frame.

Gregor shares stories from Berlin, where he spent 24 hours creating content at one of the biggest Hyrox events in the world, while Hattie reveals she's officially signed up for Hyrox Birmingham with her friend Emily. That means the start of a brand-new training journey, complete with testing sessions, coaching plans, and Gregor's questionable workout programming.

They also rank every Hyrox station from best to worst, debate the toughest challenges on race day, and discuss how Hattie plans to transform herself into a fully-fledged "hybrid athlete" over the next five months.

Plus, they tease a special guest for next week's episode - someone obsessed with performance, recovery, sleep optimisation, and every fitness hack imaginable.

Whether you're training for your first Hyrox, already addicted to endurance events, or just enjoy listening to two people navigate fitness, business, and life together, this episode has something for you.

SPEAKER_00

My name's Gregor.

SPEAKER_01

And my name's Hattie.

SPEAKER_00

And this is the Gregor and Hattie Podcast.

SPEAKER_01

Where we're going to talk everything gym, life, relationship, work, a bit of everything, really.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And also you guys, as we'd love you to get involved. We are back.

SPEAKER_01

We're back.

SPEAKER_00

What episode is this? Is this episode six?

SPEAKER_01

Six. Six.

SPEAKER_00

Wow. That's gone so quick, hasn't it? So we're going to talk to you about our weeks. We're also going to get into a situation that happened to myself. Yeah. Touchy subject. Yeah. But we'll get into that. We'll talk about it. It's done. It happened, but it's a it's a talking point. Um and then we were going to talk about something to do with you, Hyrux, which is a good thing. Hyrox related. Me.

SPEAKER_01

Sounds a bit strange.

SPEAKER_00

I cannot believe it. But we're going to get to that, which is very, very exciting.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, our week. We have had another crazy week.

SPEAKER_01

You can't just say every week's a crazy week.

SPEAKER_00

The AR, just crazy. I'm telling you. I've been in Berlin. That was cool. I think that is up there.

SPEAKER_01

For how long?

SPEAKER_00

One day. Like 24 hours. Yeah, 24 hours. Yeah. But that's such a cool city. I need to take you there. It's so good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I would like to go there. And what are you doing this weekend?

SPEAKER_00

Uh going back to Berlin.

SPEAKER_01

Going back to Berlin.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, for high rocks.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I must love it so much. But didn't compete. I went to watch my friend last week because he was doing pro singles and it was 30 degrees. Yeah, so unbelievable.

SPEAKER_01

And it's outdoors, isn't it?

SPEAKER_00

All outdoors. Sun's beaming on you.

SPEAKER_01

Nice for spectators.

SPEAKER_00

No, that's still quite hot.

SPEAKER_01

Do they stand outside or not?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. No, you're all in and out. So like the indoor bit where the stations are, that feels like a bit of a greenhouse.

SPEAKER_01

I think I'd just be watching you run outside and I was spectating that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It's it's a really cool venue. So it's basically like in a hangar, but like uh You said that, I don't know what that is. Like an airport hanger. So like the stations like a where the planes get kept. Hangar.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, is it?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I think that's what it's called anyway. Hope so. Otherwise I'm wrong.

SPEAKER_01

Um Did someone else tell you that and you just look on with it? No!

SPEAKER_00

I just knew that. Okay. Um yeah, so the runs are outside and then the stations are inside the hangar, and then you But like when you check in and stuff, like you're actually like checking in for your phone. That looked cool. It's pretty cool. That did look cool. But you're not, you're just checking in to like send it around a track. Yeah. That's really cool. Was it busy? Yeah. 35,000 people over the whole time.

SPEAKER_01

Is that a busier weekend or was there just two weekends?

SPEAKER_00

Don't know. I guess it would have been the bank holiday. So the one that's just gone. Because a lot of the lot of UK people go there. What days was it? Friday, Saturday. Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Monday, maybe? No. Tuesday, Wednesdays off, and then Thursday, Friday.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, so it's actually just both weekends?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So you're just there every single day, it's on.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But that was really cool. Made content for Race to Frame. Um, found a guy. He actually came up to me and he was just like, oh, he like recognises me from Race to Frame. And I was like, I had a good chat with him. He turned around and his bag was like the most impressive bag. But I already said to him, I was like, if you come find us, because my mate's about to race, if you come find us, I'll give you a key ring. But when he turned around, I was like in awe of his bag. Like his bag was like he had like 21 patches on there.

SPEAKER_01

Well, like five. Didn't you have loads of um was it like the wool ball? Yeah. Unbroken.

SPEAKER_00

The unbroken wall balls, you had like five of them. You just asked for one. I haven't got one of them. I know, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, thing is, if you don't Do you have to be in singles though to get unbroken?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, see that's that's hard.

SPEAKER_00

Brutal. So to get unbroken.

SPEAKER_01

I was doing 20 wool balls yesterday and I I think I broke.

SPEAKER_00

When? After five?

SPEAKER_01

No, no, did we? One of them I did do all 20, but then after one, like towards the end, I did ten and then I did ten.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, fair. That's good though. Also, my coach gave me a savage workout to do. It was gonna be like in all in in all with like the warm-up, it would have been two hours long. But I I gave it to sort of like I was like, Hattie, do this.

SPEAKER_01

Because it looked it didn't look that bad, but then I then you put repeat ten times.

SPEAKER_00

It would have taken you, but we did obviously reduce the the weight and we reduced the distance of everything. I think you were doing like um I remixed what you gave me anyway. You remixed it again. Yeah, you know, fair. I mean it was pretty brutal. I did a remix, so that was fun. Um then what else have we got up to?

SPEAKER_01

This week. Yeah. So you got back from Berlin Friday, yeah, Saturday, we went to a triathlon.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah. First ever triathlon.

SPEAKER_01

Not to do it.

SPEAKER_00

No, we didn't do it. But I wish I I honestly wish I did, but just I liked the look of the relay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Because that was like 20 minutes per person. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Team of four.

SPEAKER_01

Team of four.

SPEAKER_00

You have to swim, bike, and run. Everyone has to do that. Yeah. But once you've done all three, you come off the run and you tag the next person. Yeah. And then the person just like runs down the slope, dives into the water.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it doesn't. And I think it was a the day made it look nicer, probably to do that. It was a sunny day. Like I think I would be a a good weather triathlete.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, definitely. Oh, dunno. I do want to do that. I just need to get in the water. That's all I need to do.

SPEAKER_01

We are gonna give it a go though, aren't we?

SPEAKER_00

Like, because they were even saying like open water swim, right? So compared to the pool, you obviously have your lanes, you stay in your lanes, but apparently, open water you can just kind of drift off to the right and like kind of not notice. Yeah. And the next thing you know, you're just going in the complete wrong direction. Yeah. It's just so like normal to happen.

SPEAKER_01

See how that happens though? Because when they were doing it, they did their one lap and then they started coming to the wrong exit, and everyone was shouting at them, like go there, go there, go there, and they couldn't hear it, they just carried on.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It's like you're just I don't know what you see when you're doing it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. But we're definitely gonna do that. So we actually um worked at an ATW event. Um they do loads. I'm pretty sure they even do like Well, you did their 10K Yeah, in St. Orbans. Um really, really cool events. I absolutely love them. So we're doing we're gonna have our race of the frame stall there now, which is exciting. Um, so we're gonna be able to print photos when the people f um the athletes finish, and then we can also put it in a frame with their medal.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

They look really cool, the medal frames, don't they?

SPEAKER_01

They did look cool, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And the medal that they were offering them all their medals look really good. So that's gonna be very, very exciting. That's a new venture for us.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that is exciting. It's nice to be outside doing it actually.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we had good weather though.

SPEAKER_01

We did have good weather.

SPEAKER_00

Anything we had is a t-shirt tan. That's a bit funny.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You had a worse one than me, actually, because you were all you were outside taking the pictures.

SPEAKER_00

I know. But that was really fun. And then we then had to sort our t-shirt tan out, didn't we?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so came back Sunday night.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And then went to the room.

SPEAKER_00

Knacker, there is a l- it's it's a lot of work, isn't it?

SPEAKER_01

I feel like we did something in the afternoon on Sunday. Did we just go to the gym maybe?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we trained.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you went to the gym, I was locked out of the house.

SPEAKER_00

So you I dropped myself. That's what happened. We drove to David Lloyd straight away because I was like, Oh, I just want to just train. I need to train, because obviously we didn't I went for a run in the morning, but I I needed to train again. So I went to David Lloyd and then Hattie's on our way home.

SPEAKER_01

So we dri I drove Greg, it was like a two-hour drive back, and I was I drove for an hour, and Greg we were gonna split the drive. So Greg was like, I'll drive now if you want, I'll drive now. And I was like, Oh, it's alright, I'll keep going for a bit. I went and there was about 30 minutes left.

SPEAKER_00

40.

SPEAKER_01

No, that was about 30 by the time we actually swapped. And Greg was like, Yeah, yeah, I'll drive, I'll drive. And I was thinking, it was only 30 minutes left, and I could probably just do it. But we swapped, and then he like 10 minutes into it, he goes, I'm just gonna drive straight to David Lloyd's, and then you can just drive home from there. I was like, You've definitely just switched so that you could drive straight there.

SPEAKER_00

I did, I did, yeah, because I just said that to me, I'd go, absolutely not, yeah, and you'd be like, No, I'm not doing that, and I'd be like, Oh, but let me go. Yeah. So I just thought, I just dropped him off.

SPEAKER_01

So I took him there, dropped him off, drove back home. He's double we so we've got like two locks on our front door. He's double locked the door and kept the the double locker key with him, and I've got the other key, so I couldn't get in the house. Yeah, and then I'd have to drive. It was like a 20-minute drive back.

SPEAKER_00

And yeah, we were both like, Yeah, that would have really like done my head in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, especially as I I had flip-flops on and I wanted to go to the gym.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you plumber. So I didn't go to the phone. Your plum was to go to the gym, wasn't it? Yeah, but you you just couldn't because you're locked in. Sorry about that. I do feel quite bad.

SPEAKER_01

You didn't.

SPEAKER_00

I did.

SPEAKER_01

Did you?

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, I did. I actually felt really terrible, but there's not much I could do because I had the key.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's one of them.

SPEAKER_01

So that was that, and I just went to your mum's. Went to my mum's and which was nice, I bet. Yeah, it was nice, but I did want to go to the gym.

SPEAKER_00

Fair. So yeah, that was Sunday anyway. And then anyway, I took you to David Lloyd, didn't I? And you sunbathed to make up for it because that was the day after, because you weren't.

SPEAKER_01

That was on Monday, sorting our timelines out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and we sorted them out, alright. Can I just say as well, if you have a David Lloyd membership, they are insanely busy in the summer. Like that pool area, it was like fight for a sunbed.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, I was lying on the floor for half the day.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, crazy. Like, I I mean it's always gonna be like that. I think the scene, even like the Lido, I bet it's like that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, the Lido, it is just floor, I think.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Because we just don't have pools in this country. Yeah. So as soon as we everyone's gonna go there. Everyone's gonna go there. Like, even when I invited you as a guest in the morning, luckily I did it because an hour later, cut off, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I did think it was gonna be a bit more chill. There was a lot of noodle fights going on in the pool.

SPEAKER_00

Not noodle fights for the kids. I know, yeah. And a lot of bobbing. I was sleeping, and then all of a sudden I just had this girl just keep like jumping in and just getting me wet. Jumping in and getting me wet. Jumping in and getting me wet. And then I ended up waking up and I was just soaked.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Then she's like, come out. She was really pleasant, she was really cute though. She was like, sorry for getting you wet. Um I'm gonna continue. I'm gonna continue. I was like, fair. Lisa said sorry. Yeah. That was quite funny.

SPEAKER_01

She's really we've got gorgeous tans.

SPEAKER_00

I know. Love a tan.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, same.

SPEAKER_00

And now we're um our flat is like boiling.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So we're gonna be working today in the flat. In the heat.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's really nice in here actually.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I like I like Aircon. Yeah, it's good.

SPEAKER_01

Probably, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know what if we just have a let's just have a conversation all day?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, just chat. As long as we keep talking, we're allowed in here.

SPEAKER_00

Allowed in here.

SPEAKER_01

Let's add some more to our notes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Then what else did we do? Yes, that was our week. That was our week. And then let me have a look. Why am I holding my phone?

SPEAKER_01

And then guess what? This week we've got another crazy week.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But we'll tell you about that next week. Because it's always crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, tune in next week.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let's make this one about me.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, we'll talk about you. Go on then, ask me a question. What have you booked last week?

SPEAKER_01

What have I booked?

SPEAKER_00

What have you booked last week?

SPEAKER_01

I have booked drum roll. Hi Rox!

SPEAKER_00

In Birmingham. Birmingham. It's exciting.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that is really exciting. I am actually really excited.

SPEAKER_00

And it's not with me.

SPEAKER_01

And it's not with you.

SPEAKER_00

Girl, your best mate.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's with my friend Emily, who I was saying, I think it was last week that I was gonna try and convince her.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't think she needed to be a good one.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't actually convince her, I didn't actually need to. She messaged me the night before saying, by the way, are we doing it? I really actually do want to do the high rock. So I was like, okay, perfect, I'll book it then tomorrow. That's gonna be good. I've got it.

SPEAKER_00

That's gonna be good for really easily.

SPEAKER_01

I I was in there within two minutes, I think, to get the tickets.

SPEAKER_00

You are gonna love that. It's way nicer. It'll be good when it's like similar ability.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I think it's gonna be way, way better than doing it with you.

SPEAKER_00

Hopefully you'll hopefully you'll come out of that and be like, you'll see like how much of achievement it is when it you are similar ability because you've actually got to dig deep.

SPEAKER_01

I digged deep in ours.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, the first one I 100% agree with.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the second one I was I was injured.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what you were doing on the second one.

SPEAKER_01

I was injured and I didn't want to be there.

SPEAKER_00

You know, it's one of them, like you've paid money to be there.

SPEAKER_01

Like we booked it the week before, I had no training.

SPEAKER_00

What a waste of money.

SPEAKER_01

But anyway, yeah, so this is exciting, this one.

SPEAKER_00

But can't we say on the second one we got a way worse time?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because I was in I had a I rolled my ankle the night before.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah. Of course you do.

SPEAKER_01

I walked most of it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, fair. That's why, yeah. Yeah, I kept walking. Okay, I'll let you off.

SPEAKER_01

Fair. Yeah, thank you.

SPEAKER_00

But we yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It was only four minutes left as I do you think time-wise you're gonna get with Emily.

SPEAKER_00

What's your goal? What would what would you like to have? We got an hour fifteen, and then we got an hour eleven.

SPEAKER_01

No, we got an hour eleven, and then we got an hour fifteen. Yeah. So we got worse actually.

unknown

I know.

SPEAKER_01

Um I don't I don't honestly, I don't mind. I just want to do it. What do you think?

SPEAKER_00

I think sub one hour thirty would be wicked for you both.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That'd be really, really good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I think I'm gonna be doing more of the stations because I've spoken to Emily about it and she said she struggles with wall balls hitting the target.

SPEAKER_00

That's gonna hurt you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's gonna hurt. You've got to do the maturity of the wall balls and slap like she struggles with the weights.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But she's got five months to train.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you've got a long time. So we're basically gonna get Hattie to use pro weight from the from the get-go. Yeah. But like just not that many reps and not that many meters of everything. We're just gonna start low and we're gonna build it up for you.

SPEAKER_01

Um this is my coach talking.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so we're basically just gonna kind of go in because if you are gonna do the majority of the exercises, we're gonna go in with the heavier stuff. So then we're, you know, maybe like three weeks to a month out, we're then put the lighter weights in that you're actually gonna be using.

SPEAKER_01

Well, what weights was I using yesterday?

SPEAKER_00

Six kg ball. You were using men's sled push as well.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so that is pro weight then. Yes, pro weight, yeah. So that was fine. Yeah. I think I'm actually quite good at sled push.

SPEAKER_00

But and you found the six kg ball ball, you've like not too bad.

SPEAKER_01

I think I've only ever done it with six kilograms.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, fair. Because when obviously we've done it together. So yeah, that four or that's what I mean. You train harder, it just will be easier.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't think I've actually ever done women's weights.

SPEAKER_00

No. But yeah, I think it is important to like come back to.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe I'll train with men's pro.

SPEAKER_00

What nine? Wait, that nine.

SPEAKER_01

No, I picked that up by accident yesterday. And I think that's a good one. Because we're doing the wall balls in the same area, weren't we?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you're split it and gone.

SPEAKER_01

And a six and a nine looks quite similar, so I kicked I picked it up and I was like That's not right. That's not me.

SPEAKER_00

It's heavy, isn't it?

SPEAKER_01

That is heavy, like disgustingly heavy. Yeah, but for you in comparison, I feel like that's fine.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but it's still like a huge step up. It's even oh I mean six for you is a huge step up. Yeah, it's a similar four, five, six. So that's a two kg increase. And then six, seven, eight, nine. Ours is a three kg in uh increase. Right. Obviously, yours is I don't know, one kg more, buddy. Heavy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, we're gonna get you to just train heavier but not like long sessions. Then we're just gonna build it up.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I just think the main thing I need to do is running, to be honest.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So what are we doing?

SPEAKER_01

But even since the the the first tie rocks we did, my running has improved since then, even though I haven't done it recently, but it has definitely improved since then, because that Gymshark run that Gymshark um thing we did, yeah. My running was fine in that.

SPEAKER_00

Mate, wicked.

SPEAKER_01

Felt fine.

SPEAKER_00

Kind of dumb my head in a bit. I was like, why couldn't you run like that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was ahead of you.

SPEAKER_00

Mate, you were flying.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But anyway, that was that.

SPEAKER_01

Um then today we're doing sounds awful what we're doing today. Testing. Yeah, sounds absolutely horrendous.

SPEAKER_00

So we're gonna put Hattie through various tests. You've done your 5k. What did you get in your 5k?

SPEAKER_01

25 minutes something.

SPEAKER_00

Why'd you say it like that? That's in that's a very impressive time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm happy with it. Yeah, I just wanted 25.00.

SPEAKER_00

But you got 25 something. But that is still really, really good. So we've already got that. I'm happy with that. So that's our test 5k test. Then we're gonna do 2k roo, 2k ski. 2k roo. Are you gonna do both today?

SPEAKER_01

Um I don't know, you're my coach.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You're gonna be doing both.

SPEAKER_01

But the only thing is, I did a lot of skier yesterday. My triceps are hurting.

SPEAKER_00

Are they? Yeah, you did do a lot of you did like 2500 metres, didn't you?

SPEAKER_01

Did you even explain what the workout was yesterday?

SPEAKER_00

What to the to everyone?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So I'll explain. So I said to Greg, obviously I've booked Birmingham High Rocks last week. I said, Right, I need to start training like that sort of training now. So can I have a Hyrux workout to do? Just like get me into it, like ease me in. He went, Yeah, yeah, of course. You can just do what me and Jordan are doing, but like a little bit more adapted to you. So I thought, okay, fine, he knows what he's doing, he'll ease me into it, whatever. It was a 600 meter run, ski erg 250 metres. What after that? Woolbulls 20, said push one length, ski erg again for some reason, 250 metres.

SPEAKER_00

60 seconds rest.

SPEAKER_01

60 I kept forgetting to rest as well.

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_01

I kept forgetting I tried to.

SPEAKER_00

How'd you forget to rest?

SPEAKER_01

I didn't realise, I kept going back to the run and I thought I'd supposed to rest now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So mate, I'm like this is where the remix came in, because sometimes I did the run and then I rested.

SPEAKER_00

Oh right, that's when you remix.

SPEAKER_01

So I remixed it like that because I forgot and I forgot to do the said push a couple times.

SPEAKER_00

How would you forget to rest like that's my goal is like to get to the rest of it?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I just kept forgetting. But anyway, so it was that, and then he went, so that so you'll do that, just do it ten times. I was like, Oh, just do it ten times then. I got to my fifth round.

SPEAKER_00

But when I was doing when I was doing our workout with my friend, it I was like, Oh my god, we've just done one round and it's taken ten minutes.

SPEAKER_01

I got to my fifth round and I'd been doing it for like an hour and twenty minutes. I thought this is gonna be a good one. I'm not doing it, I'm not doing another five. So I kept it.

SPEAKER_00

But I was when I when I was running, I was chucking into myself, going, I'm not gonna say anything see how long long you go for. But you went for an hour, did you?

SPEAKER_01

Over an hour.

SPEAKER_00

Did you set it up on your watch?

SPEAKER_01

No, but I know what time I started.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um so yeah, that is the start of your high-rock journey. We're gonna put you through testing and then we're gonna put a plan in place and it's all systems go.

SPEAKER_01

For five months. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

I can't wait, we're gonna turn you into a beast.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And then maybe we'll do another mixed.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah? Honestly, I'd love that.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_00

Just be consistent.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Consistency is key.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I think now you have you've paid for it yourself.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And you've got it booked in and open doubles where you know you're gonna have to actually put shift in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I think you will I think you will do the training.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, I'm I'm gonna do the training because I can't just rely on you now.

SPEAKER_00

No, you're gonna be a hybrid girly.

SPEAKER_01

Before I was just thinking, oh, I can just run around. You'll just do it all. Now I I can't be.

SPEAKER_00

You are gonna be a hybrid girly. How are you excited about that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm excited.

SPEAKER_00

You're excited to get like fitter, faster.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

It's cool.

SPEAKER_01

You're ready to be fit.

SPEAKER_00

You are fit, but like engine fit.

SPEAKER_01

Every time I do a high rox workout, he goes, I love it when you do a high rox workout.

SPEAKER_00

I do.

SPEAKER_01

So much more attractive.

SPEAKER_00

I do. I love it. But you just um just struggle to get into it.

SPEAKER_01

Are you doing Birmingham?

SPEAKER_00

I will, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. And you're gonna be my videographer. You can see what it feels like this time.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Because I honestly spend my whole day just following you round.

SPEAKER_00

What do I call you?

SPEAKER_01

A WAG, but I don't think you can be a WAG because that's a wife and girlfriend.

SPEAKER_00

What can I be?

SPEAKER_01

Husband and boyfriend. You can be a hab.

SPEAKER_00

A hab? Interesting. Um next done with that.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know what I'm really excited for?

SPEAKER_00

What?

SPEAKER_01

When I'm doing my high rocks, I can say to you, Greg, this day's about me. Greg, no, Greg, I want to go here. This day's about me today.

SPEAKER_00

No, can I just can I just say that?

SPEAKER_01

Because that's exactly what you're like. We're getting ready in the morning and I'm stressed about something, you go, Hattie, this day's not about you, it's about me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but you do make the you do try and start the day, like you try and cause an issue, and it's like no, I do. I don't need this today. I'm trying to I'm trying to get zoned in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And we'll get there and I'll say, Oh, I just need to go to the toilet quick. Hattie, no, we need to go here because it's not about you.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, you're making me sound terrible right now. That's not what I do. You have started having a sissy fit in the morning.

SPEAKER_01

A sissy fit?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, about some random stuff maybe to do with your eyebrows aren't right, or some or some annoying. It's just annoying. So I'm just like, it's not about you, it's about me. Just let me get into that.

SPEAKER_01

Or I'll say, uh Greg, I just need to do my makeup quickly. I can't make your lunch for you. It's about me.

SPEAKER_00

This has never happened. You're making away.

SPEAKER_01

What would you put in a high rock starter pack if you for like so for me? I've obviously got a few things, but if I was just going straight into Hyrux now, doing my first race, I didn't have anything. What would you say are the essentials that I should buy? I would say Xamily's gonna need this.

SPEAKER_00

Electrolytes. I would say race fit, because you want to feel good.

SPEAKER_01

New outfit. New outfit. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You want to feel good. Trust me, if you feel good on that start line, you'll be flying.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. And a good outfit makes you train harder.

SPEAKER_00

Gels. I love a gel. I take mine after the pool.

SPEAKER_01

Pool?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the pool. And also the row. Take two. Yeah. Um, I would also say.

SPEAKER_01

I struggle to open the gels.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, when you're sweaty, it's actually a mission. You have to use your teeth.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I don't want to break my teeth.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I would also say lots of water. I would say if you can, and it's not too expensive, get a coach.

SPEAKER_01

I would also say you need to be running Oh my god, this is a long starter back.

SPEAKER_00

Um I'm trying to help you out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Uh I'd say you need to be running three times a week? Minimum.

SPEAKER_01

No, I mean a start pack of things to get. Like trainers, like you're obviously an outfit.

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

You're giving me a whole training plan here.

SPEAKER_00

Trainers, that's a good one.

SPEAKER_01

So trainers, electrolytes, outfit. Yeah. Anything else?

SPEAKER_00

Uh an easy pair of run shoes, if you can. And then a carbon plated pair for your fast session. So like your high rock sessions and your race day. You don't want to be doing loads of training in your race day shoes because the carbon, like I've made that mistake. I've had really tight calves, shin splints. You just want an easy pair, no carbon. Um training that a lot. But there's like so many different shoes you can get, but then it just gets really, really expensive. So just one carbon, one easy. Yeah. Start with that, then you can get into it a bit more. You can get like tempo shoes and stuff like that. Anyway, I do that. Um that's pretty much it. Yeah, you don't need a crazy amount of stuff.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

Just just get this the essentials and send it.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

And then just like Maybe if you're a girl, some slickerback hair gel.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Keep your hair out of your hand. I don't know, just reminded me of like when Home Alone like does his hair and then I've never watched Home Alone. Have you not? No. You haven't lived, mate.

SPEAKER_01

You haven't lived, mate. No, I've never watched him.

SPEAKER_00

He's like getting ready and he's like, and then he goes and he goes, ah.

SPEAKER_01

I like it when Alvis Presley gets does his little thing.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Whatever he does.

SPEAKER_00

Very cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. How many carbon shoes do you own? Is my next question.

SPEAKER_00

Do you know what? Too many.

SPEAKER_01

Too many. How many easy shoes do you own?

SPEAKER_00

Can I just put something into the uh the atmosphere? Why are shoe companies like really pushing carbon plates shoes? That's all they push. It's all I keep seeing.

SPEAKER_01

So there's no cool shoes that all.

SPEAKER_00

They advertise, there is, but like they don't push it out. It's like all the cool shoes that I like the look of, that probably everyone else as well, they're all carbon. So you're everyone's like rocking them, people are like posting them on their story, like advertisement, like promoting promoting it.

SPEAKER_01

People think the more expensive ones are better as well.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like they're just they need to start more in demand.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they need to start pushing the tempo shoes that you need for your track, your track days, your threshold runs. Yeah. But then people are like doing.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I got ones that aren't carbon. Just my ons.

SPEAKER_00

Just your ons, yeah. But that that is the problem. And that's why I keep buying loads of carbon plates shoes, because that's all we get that gets. Yeah. Sort it out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But I do you have a lot of carbon shoes. But I always see you wear the same pair.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because I like the look of them. That's the problem. Uh you buy outfits, right? If you're into high-rights, if you're into running, it's a fashion show as well. I'll be real. It is. You want to look good when you're running, you want to feel good when you're running. So all the nice shoes are carbon plated. So you, when you want to do your easy run, I end up putting the carbon plated on, and it's really bad to do that for your body.

SPEAKER_01

So just don't do that. It's my advice for you.

SPEAKER_00

Thanks for that advice. Very helpful.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. It's not all about how you look.

SPEAKER_00

Noted. Thank you for that.

SPEAKER_01

That's alright.

SPEAKER_00

Now we'll go on to you.

SPEAKER_01

Me? Huh? What about me?

SPEAKER_00

About you. I think that when you start getting into this, you will understand because it is a bit of a fashion show.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I wouldn't wear things that are gonna make me get injured.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, we'll see about that. In the next video, all I wear at the moment is my carbon ones, to be fair. Exactly.

SPEAKER_01

But I find every session's like so far apart, they're fine.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, you do at the moment you do like one every month.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so that's fine at the moment.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you'll be fine.

SPEAKER_01

So when you're doing like I put my shoes on yesterday, didn't I? And you said, look how fresh they are.

SPEAKER_00

They do look fresh.

SPEAKER_01

Compared to yours.

SPEAKER_00

Honestly, they look brand spanking.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they they pretty much are.

SPEAKER_00

No, the 247 black.

SPEAKER_01

Had them since January.

SPEAKER_00

Bought you them, but was like, oh I know what I'll do. I'll buy Hattie some brand new running shoes, pristine, best looking shoes out there. Hopefully, she'll start running and get into high rocks. She's done two running sessions probably since. And one high rocks.

SPEAKER_01

But I've got a bit now, so that's all good. Ooh in the past.

SPEAKER_00

But now you've got high rocks but it's gonna be all systems go. Um what's next? You got any more questions for me?

SPEAKER_01

Rank the high-rock stations.

SPEAKER_00

Ooh, that sounds exciting. Shall we? Yeah. Would you like to go first?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, okay. Number one, best station.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Ten's the eight's the worst, because there's eight stations.

SPEAKER_01

My favourite station. Kind of struggling with this. Maybe you go first.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna rank Actually, I think, yeah, you go, sorry, go.

SPEAKER_00

Let's rank the high rock stations. Yeah. One is obviously being the best, eight being the worst. I'm gonna say the best is sled pool.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say sled push.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Why?

SPEAKER_01

Because I like it.

SPEAKER_00

You like it.

SPEAKER_01

But the only thing is I didn't like it last time. No, but I think the floor was harder.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. You wait.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I think and on the day it's harder, isn't it?

SPEAKER_00

The turf. That turf. Yeah. One day it could be good, one day it could be good.

SPEAKER_01

But I'm on the Wednesday. Does that make a difference?

SPEAKER_00

Um you should be quite nice. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so sled push first for me.

SPEAKER_00

Slub pull for me. Then I'm actually gonna go burpees. Yeah. Love burpees. Okay. I absolutely love them. Burpees, just because I'm just I don't know, I'm just just I'm good at them. I'm just good at them.

SPEAKER_01

No, let me do my second one.

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, your second.

SPEAKER_01

My second one is Farmer's carry.

SPEAKER_00

Why?

SPEAKER_01

I just think it's easy.

SPEAKER_00

Fair. Fair enough. Then I would go. Weirdly, lunges used to be eight. Used to suck at them. Now I've just got such powerful legs from this.

SPEAKER_01

I find it hard in the trainers doing the lunges.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you're you need the new Puma Deviate Force for that. So stable, let me tell you.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Another investment. Number three for me.

SPEAKER_01

I think everything else is eight for me.

SPEAKER_00

Really? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think lunges, ski erg, burpees.

SPEAKER_00

You're good at ski erg now. No, I'm not. You nailed your technique.

SPEAKER_01

I get tired. Lunges, skiered, burp ski erg, burpees. What else is there? Said pool. Maybe said pool will be like seven. Everything else eight.

SPEAKER_00

Fair. So I'm on to lunges is my third. Fourth, pr has to be wobbles. Used to hate them, now I love them. Just think they're fun. I know I think that it's just the atmosphere and the.

SPEAKER_01

I just think they're fun. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I see the atmosphere at the end that I love.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's cool.

SPEAKER_01

And then you guys just cross the line after. Yeah. Yeah, I've got to think, got to run after this.

SPEAKER_00

Fifth's gotta be skierg. Sixth's gotta be sled push. Not a f I just think some days it's easy and maybe when we do mix, then I'll do all the sled push. Yeah, right. Shake my hand on that. No. Okay. Um row, just find that like just just there, isn't it? It just gives you a bit of a rest-ish.

SPEAKER_01

Don't that's not what you're meant to think, apparently.

SPEAKER_00

I know.

SPEAKER_01

You're always really low ranked in the row.

SPEAKER_00

Alright.

unknown

I know I am, aren't I?

SPEAKER_00

I really need to sort my row out. I'm really bad at it.

SPEAKER_01

You're not bad at it. You just you've you've mentally got it in your head that you use it to rest.

SPEAKER_00

I need to switch that up. I need to dig.

SPEAKER_01

You need to be a dog.

SPEAKER_00

Dog it. We're gonna do that in Berlin this weekend. Go on then. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm gonna dog it. Then I'm gonna say farmers. What if I missed?

SPEAKER_01

That's eight.

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

That's eight fingers.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, that is eight fingers. Correct. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, farmers.

SPEAKER_00

They're just over quite quickly. And I just Farmers.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. What you put that as eight?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I think that was my number one, wasn't it? Number two.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'll do all of that then. Is I'm all means. No, I think women's farmers is easier than men's farmers. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Well, for you, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, would probably be easier for you as well.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah. We've never tried the women's. Run with it like Sinead. Seen her with the pro.

SPEAKER_01

I've seen that everyone like tags her and puts um of unlike Sineade or whatever they put.

SPEAKER_00

It's cool. She like literally spints with it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's pretty mental. Next week.

SPEAKER_01

We've got a guest.

SPEAKER_00

We have got a guest. Very exciting guest. We're not going to tell you too much. We're going to it's going to be a surprise, but we've got a guest. It's all gonna be about high rocks.

SPEAKER_01

So and also how he maybe some um tips on how to get a good night's sleep.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He's the man for that.

SPEAKER_01

He's tried and tested a few things.

SPEAKER_00

We'll get that from him.

SPEAKER_01

Honestly, if there's any like random thing that's gonna help with like your running, your sleeping, like your breathing, anything, he's tried it.

SPEAKER_00

He's into the weirdest things. Everything. For example, actually, I'm not even gonna tie, I'm just gonna let him.

SPEAKER_01

We'll we'll yeah, we'll tell you.

SPEAKER_00

But he is he's an interesting guy, isn't he?

SPEAKER_01

He really is an interesting guy.

SPEAKER_00

He really kind of with everything. I respect it. Yeah. He researches everything, he's on and he watches YouTube's about sleep, he watches about recovery. It's cool. He's on it. Help me out.

SPEAKER_01

He answers all my questions. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, that'll be next week. But thanks for watching, guys. Peace. Peace. Oh, it's so nice chatting. I like it when you coffee me. Thank you for listening to today's episode. Did enjoy it. Like, follow, subscribe wherever you're watching.
