What truly keeps you alive? Beneath every heartbeat, every breath, and every thought is metabolism. It is far more than calories, weight, or energy. Metabolism is one of the fundamental processes that defines life itself.

Every organ, every tissue, and every cell exists within this metabolic terrain. Health, resilience, and our capacity to adapt are inseparable from it. To understand metabolism is to begin looking at the human body through an entirely different lens.

Have you ever stopped to think? What's keeping you alive right now? Not tomorrow, not next week, right now. Your heart is beating, your lungs are breathing, your brain is processing thousands of thoughts. Your immune system is quietly protecting you. Your liver is working, kidneys are filtering your blood, skin is constantly repairing itself, and you didn't have to remind your body to do any of it. It simply knows. Every single one of those processes requires energy, every heartbeat, breath, thought, blink, every cell, every second of every single day. When most people hear the word metabolism, they immediately think about weight loss, burning calories, a fast metabolism, a slow metabolism, maybe even the latest diet they've seen online. But what if I told you that metabolism has very little to do with weight and almost everything to do with life? Metabolism is the reason your heart continues beating while you're asleep. It's the reason a cut on your finger heels, the reason you can fight an infection, the reason you can think, move, recover, adapt, grow, and ultimately it's the reason you're alive. Whether you realize it or not, your body is performing millions of chemical reactions every single second to keep you alive. That's metabolism. In many ways, metabolism is the story of life itself. And yet, despite being one of the most important processes in the human body, it's also one of the most misunderstood. And if we're ever going to understand disease, we have to first understand how the body was designed to work. The good news is, by the end of this journey, I think you'll begin to see your body in a way you've never seen it before. That's why I wanted to create metabolism decoded. Over the course of this journey, we're going to take one of the biggest topics in medicine and break it down into simple bite-sized conversations. No complicated lectures, no overwhelming medical jargon. Just one question, one answer, one step closer to understanding your body. Whether you're here because you're struggling with fatigue, trying to lose weight, living with diabetes, dealing with cancer, or you're simply fascinated by how the human body works, I'm genuinely glad you're here. Because this journey isn't just about learning metabolism. It's about learning to see your body differently. I've always believed that when people understand what's happening inside their bodies, they stop feeling powerless. They ask better questions, they make better decisions, and become active participants of their own health. My hope is that this series doesn't just answer your questions. I hope it changes the way you think about your health and the incredible body you've been given. So let's begin.
