Welcome to the Miranda Lee Podcast. A life fully lived embraces every season, the highs and the lows. Allowing ourselves to love fiercely, feel our feelings, and trust to land softly. This is a heartless space created for just that. Deep vulnerable conversations, connections, learning to unlearn, become part of a beautiful community while growing and healing right alongside me. Because everything is easier with support and lived experiences shared with the right kind of people. Let's step off autopilot, get a little uncomfortable, take a breath, and dive right in. If you are listening to this, I want to thank you and welcome you to my community. I think one of the biggest pieces in life is feeling understood, feeling heard, having a space where you can just be vulnerable. And that is a huge why for me and starting this entire journey on this podcast. So much of my journey and my story has been, I think, just giving life permission to be a ride and understanding no matter the actions we take, no matter how hard we try to do everything right, there is going to be ebbs, flows. There is going to be really beautiful seasons and really hard chapters. And it isn't a reflection of you or your actions. It is literally the journey of life. So I want to invite you to join me in this journey. I want to invite you to love fiercely, land softly. I made it after all the things that I never thought I would have to face or even get through. And I want you to know that no matter where you're at in this journey, you too will make it. I'm very empathic. Like most women in the world or people in the world, attributes of ADHD. I am a recovering people pleaser. I no longer drink. Again, welcome to womanhood. When I sit here today and reflect, I think the life I'm living truly is what my heart dreamt for me. But the cards that I was dealt, things I had to face, uh very different, very unpredictable from what I think I would have called into this journey. And I say this to my coaching clients all the time that are going through hard things in their life, but I really wouldn't change a damn thing. Not a single thing. And together on this podcast, I really want there to be realism and vulnerability and raw feelings, relatability. This is a no small talk bullshit kind of podcast. And I'm really going to meet myself where I'm at and what I've learned about having conversations that shift my life and have helped me. And that's that the peppy person on the other side with all the positive things to say isn't who I needed to listen to all the time. Sometimes, yes. But then I also didn't need to always have the emotion. So I think if I'm authentic with myself on this journey, you're going to see both. Um, I've learned that feeling my feelings is my superpower. I feel big, I feel deep. And as I do the work that I do in coaching people and mentoring in the work I do at my studio, I think my vulnerability and allowing myself to be emotional can be a really beautiful crack into other people's availability and space they can hold for themselves. So I hope you get a little bit of everything in this. As I turn 40 at the end of the month, I reflect back, there's a significance over the past 10 years. And I always come back to this day where I was kind of fed up with being in a really hard place, being dark in the depth of fear, and in the hard chapter that I was in. And I listened to a podcast, and oh my gosh, I've looked for it and I can't find it. But the message in it was your story will be beautiful. And it was exactly what I needed to hear in that moment. It was like reminding myself that I can create and believe in the best for me. And so I do want you to know that. No matter where you're at right now, your story will be beautiful. But what I do want to say is what that will look like. I think for me, I needed to really drop in some chapters the constant positivity and the everything's gonna be good, because that was really truly what survived me through hard chapters as a kid, as a teen. What I really needed to hear was that yes, my story will be beautiful, and I can dream up all the things, and life is going to have high highs, but it's also going to have hard chapters, and yes, I need that version of me that's so positive.

The part of me that could always see the sunny side. She could always put on a smile, pull her socks up. I needed her. I still need her today, but what I've really had to learn and embrace is also the very hard, realistic part of me.

The part that needs to face the hard truths, who needs to feel grief, because I truly believe you can't allow yourself to fully feel the joy, the positivity, the beauty or growth without allowing yourself to be also with the version of you that's hard and sad, and who feels like they're stuck or decaying, because we can be both. So, yes, a hundred percent, your story is going to be amazing, and you're gonna make it to the other side just like me. And so wherever you are right now, if you're in that big high and things are amazing, I fucking love that for you, but know if you get to a chapter that's hard, that you didn't cause yourself that. I sit here reflecting on why I waited until now to start this podcast. You guys, I bought the equipment like six or seven years ago, and then I wanted to record, I wanted to share my story, I was feeling inspired, but there was just like a block, and for sure part of it was perfectionism. But while I sit here and reflect over the last 10 years, I'm like, oh, I was in the thick of it, which sure, my podcast probably would have been so great, but I wasn't able to meet myself and that version of me in the way that she needed to be held. And so now I sit here being able to be with all of my parts, being able to welcome all past versions of me. And that is why now is the time to share my story. Even today, though, and I'll dive into the things that make up my story, but I still have these moments that I need to remind myself that yes, I can celebrate, I can tell the great, amazing, exciting parts of my life that turned out in a different way than maybe I was told, better than I could have imagined. And I'm not jinxing myself by owning those and celebrating those. Because yes, even though things are good right now, yes, I've overcome a whole bunch of things, there's still gonna be shit in the future that I have to sit with. But that will not take away from the joy and the compassion and the understanding that I've developed for myself moving through this journey of ebbs and flows. And a part of me was definitely afraid that, like, ooh, don't talk about the good stuff and ooh, don't talk about the hard stuff because what if it gets harder? And I think just being in really hard chapters can take you to that place. I suffered in high school with suicide thoughts and being in depression early in university. And I think when you've been in a place like that, um, there's a fear of like ever going back there, right? Because it's really hard. And I think I've really had to remind myself over the last 10 years of really big things happening that just because I'm feeling something hard doesn't mean I'm reliving the past. It doesn't mean I'm stuck, I'm not going backwards. And instead, reminding myself, like, I've been through hard shit. I will get through this. I don't need to go to this head space that, oh my God, it's happening again. But on the flip side of that, I also need to remind myself that when good shit is happening, don't block yourself from feeling it. Let yourself ride the wave, let yourself feel the joy. I know it is protectors. It's parts of us that don't want us to feel the big things because that's where things get hard and uncomfortable. However, I just want to advocate and say that feel the highs, feel the lows, love fiercely, land softly. On the other side of it, you'll always get through it. And a gentle reminder that all the things that happen in our life, they don't define us, they're simply just a part of our story. They're a version that will take us to the next chapter. And there's so much beauty in that. If you are working through something right now that's really challenging, I can't say enough how important it is to remind yourself. Though we lean into people and we ask for support and we ask for advice, no one has walked your path. Nobody knows your experiences better than you. Nobody knows the answers to the things that you're facing. But yes, it's great to have support people in your corner. Like I said, this place is about community. But what I will say is really do trust yourself, trust your heart. Know that in the same day, and I I do this, in the same day, I will cry, I will laugh, I'll be mad. On a good day, I'll feel every emotion. And to me, that just lets me know that I'm living, I'm honoring what's real, and it doesn't have to define a day as good or bad. And I think when I think back to darker chapters, it was like, oh, sadness and anger mean that I'm in a hard chapter. And I think I've really had to learn that no, that's human experience. That is literally just feeling what comes up in your body, feeling and processing whatever you're facing, and not needing to label it or make it be a big defining moment in your day. But yeah, if I don't have a good cry and a good laugh in my day, um, I do really have to sit with my heart and ask what I blocked. Like, did I not allow myself to feel joy today because I feel like I'm in a hard chapter? Or am I in a really good place and so I can't cry because that'll take away from that. And really knowing that be all of it in the same day, feel all of it. It makes you human, it lets you feel the realm of things. I speak to this a lot that sometimes it's like we're not allowed to grieve, or we feel like we have no right to be grieving because someone we know is going through something harder. Or oh, not being allowed to let yourself feel joy or happiness because of where someone else is, or because of something you're working through in your life. And I think those are the walls that we really truly need to break down. Let yourself be all of it in the same day, no matter what. I've had some really great chats with widows who lost their partner, and when the feelings of joy start to bubble up, there's a guilt. And as a medical mum, I have had moments where I'm fearful of being really happy because there's this voice in the back of my head that's like, Don't get too excited, you don't know what's ahead. But oh, how we mute our life story when we literally don't allow ourselves to feel those things. I remember uh while I was going through diagnosis seeing other people in the clinics that I was in, like in way more challenging chapters and facing things so much harder than me. And me just continually saying to myself, almost like, where do you get off being sad about where you're at right now? And I'll never forget the day my neurologist said this to me, and I do, I repeat this and tell this story to my clients because I think it's such an important thing. But my story shouldn't be dismissed because of where someone else is in their journey, other people's hardships can't dismiss what you're feeling right now that is hard. There is always so much good in the world, and there's also at the same moment so much challenging shit going on. And if we're always mitigating where we're allowed to land in that based on everyone else's experiences and everything else that's going on, we're really not allowing ourselves to just be human and to feel and to honor our own shit. And in case you're in that headspace too, where you're just overthinking every possible scenario that could happen. And I don't know why this never happened when we're in a positive headspace. It's like when we think things can happen, we never just overthink everything amazing that could happen. Um, we, in a hard chapter, though, can think of every possible thing that can go wrong. I have an amazing psychologist I work with. And when my son was diagnosed and the length of his life was unknown, and the fear and darkness that set into me, every possible scenario would bubble up, especially the months of waiting for MRI results. It would feel like I'm holding my breath. And my brain would go through every possible scenario of hardship that could possibly come up. And again, another thing that just really shifted me, shifted me, and hopefully this can land with you. But no matter what we're thrown as humans, we always figure it out. We can always come up with a solution, a plan of action. And so I think also just rather than resisting all the thoughts that come up that ultimately are trying to protect you, give you insight, give you a sense of calm because you've thought everything through, being able to meet those thoughts, even if they're dark, and be like, thank you for that thought. Thanks for running me through that situation and coming back to the now and trusting and knowing that in any hard moment, in any hard moment you've already lived through, guess what? You made it through, you made a decision, and you got yourself through to the other side. So wherever you're meeting yourself today, I really do want you to allow yourself to know that your story will be beautiful, that you will be so grateful for this version of yourself today in the future. I am so friggin' proud of the woman and the girl. I've been in real hard chapters. Fuck she was strong, and I don't know how she got through it, but man, am I grateful? And it literally took every experience that came up, every hardship, every win, all of them. It took them all to get me to where I am today. And it's gonna take this version of you right now to believe in yourself, to really honor your heart, to trust that everything's gonna be good, you're gonna make it. Yes, there will be highs, there will be lows. That is part of life. That isn't a reflection of you. Believe that your story will be beautiful, and I just can't invite you more enough to allow all your parts to meet you on this journey, to feel the big good stuff, to embrace and allow realism and the shit that's really hard, to love fiercely, and to trust that you'll always land softly. I can't wait to share this journey with you, to share my story and create a community in a space where hopefully you feel heard. And who knows, maybe we can connect and you can hop on one day. Sending so much love. Until we meet again, friend. Peace and love.
