A Guide to Embodying Your Love & Light
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
If Miranda Lee could put this feeling in a jar and share it with you, she would!
Instead, she will share her story to finding her own embodiment of light, love and connection in this life, how she lives within it now...and some guidance and tips how you can too!
It truly is a journey of unlearning, un-numbing, looking the fuck up in life, and letting yourself slip off autopilot and into the absolute beauty of everything you can feel, sense, and move past in this moment right now (and into your day).
Topics:
- Physical Sensation: The actual physical sensations she experiences in flow and embodiment state of love, light, spirit and physical body
- State of Remembering: How we enter this life, in the open and expansion feelings as a child, and how and why the walls start to go up. The potential of children to crack ourselves back open in adulthood, back to this state, if we are vulnerable enough with ourselves to let them.
- Her Personal 'Crack Wide Open' Moments: The moments in adulthood that have invited her back into her body, into her heart, into the physical and energetic sensation and connection that we are more then our body and the identities and roles in our lives...but spiritual and energetic beings (and how powerful that is)
- Practices that Supported This Shift: The practices that have shifted her, her wellness, her life and now her profession. Because everything she advocates, teaches and guides IS FIRST FOR HER OWN HEALING... and if it shifts her own wellness and states of being, then she shares her experiences with her community and clients.
- Staying Calibrated: How the self care plate can become really heavy if we feel we need to 'do all the damn things', and instead trust our bodys guidance to focus on what it states is valuable. Miranda speaks to how she stays calibrated, and what habits she catches herself doing when she is low vibration, disembodied or out of practice with self care physically & energetically.
- Living Cyclically & Keeping Balance: The lessons and some guidance on how she has shifted her life to be more in alignment and balance so she can hold space for herself and the community and groups she supports.

Welcome to the Miranda Lee Podcast. A life fully lived embraces every season, the highs and the lows. Allowing ourselves to love fiercely, feel our feelings, and trust to land softly. This is a heartless space created for just that. Deep vulnerable conversations, connections, learning to unlearn, become part of a beautiful community while growing and healing right alongside me. Because everything is easier with support and lived experiences shared with the right kind of people. Let's step off autopilot, get a little uncomfortable, take a breath, and dive right in. Hello and welcome to this episode. I am so incredibly excited to talk about this today. This is where my heart gets to talk and my experiences, and I get to shed light on honestly my entire why of why I do what I do for a living, why I live my life the way I do, and hopefully some tips or a little bit of guidance on how you might be able to meet yourself there. I want to talk today about why it's so important to love fiercely, to embody, to feel, but also to find your light and be in it and what it feels like to embody all of your wholeness, all that you are, all that you were put here with. I am not a religious woman, but I would say I've gotten very spiritual. I believe in universe, and I feel like I speak a lot about unlearning, and I think so much about what I want to talk about today is unlearning, unnumbing, and honestly coming home to who you always were, and hopefully guiding you to a place where you can remember some of that. Oof, this is how I move through my life. I am so incredibly passionate about this, and I believe in it wholly. I genuinely feel like if humanity can come to this awareness and give yourself permission to feel this and believe in this and embody this, that we can be in a different place as a whole, and you can navigate your life, your work, your relationships, the moments that you move in your day with this incredible physical sensation, but this openness and being met with so much support and clarity and guidance. Um, I I sometimes think back, like if you would have said this to me 10 years ago, would I have bought in? And a part of me is like, no, because I was, I just wasn't there yet. Um, and more than 10 years ago. But if you would have asked me this as a child, I think I would have been like, yeah, tell me about it. Like I would love to hear about this. And so whenever I have moments in life where I'm like, ooh, I don't know about where my health is at, or I have that moment of like, we don't know how long this journey is, I honestly feel like today's topic, today's discussion is what I want to leave behind because it's shifted my life that much. I'm really, I'm really excited to talk to you guys about this. So to begin, I will say that even how I started this session, this recording, uh, truly reflects who I am and where I'm at in my life. So I've already opened up for those of you that wish to receive energy work. It is open and flowing, and I hope that you can be open to receive that. Um, it can feel like nothing, it can feel like tingles or waves. Um I also in my own environment had to burn something to ground me. Um we are in the new moon energy of Taurus, and I literally last night led a soul dive session, and the guidance in one of the books that I follow on Moon Guidance was to lean into the energy of goddess, and I don't know if I'm saying this right, but Sara Swati. And I literally grabbed a deck of my Oracle cards and opened it up, and on the bottom of the deck said her name. And I was like, Oh, that's so cool. Those aren't just like by chance, those are like for me synchronicities and guidance, knowing I'm on the right path. And so I pulled a card and I pulled a card from another deck just asking for clarity in a message going into this recording, and I pulled higher power and trust the call. And I was like, oof, so awesome. And then I look at the time and it was 111. So I sit here just like my whole body tingling. I'm excited to talk about all these things, but also um really truly embodying some of the things that have changed my life. Okay, so I don't talk a lot of science. This is going to be fully from my heart, from my experience, just from kind of what I intuitively feel like sharing and really trusting that. So um where I've kind of come in life is to a place where I really truly believe that love is our frequency. And it's a vibration, it's something that attracts other people to us, but it's also something that we can then kind of spread throughout our day, throughout our life. And when you get to feel that physically in your body and in your heart, and just in the spaces you're around, it's really life-changing. Um, it is my root, it is a connection to everything around you. Um, I think for me it's a bit of a lens change, but it is a feeling that becomes your resonance, becomes your frequency, becomes kind of where you're calibrated. So as someone with neuropathy in my legs, I have some definite numbness. Um, when I kind of started working with energy and really believing and honoring that I am more than this physical body, I am more than just how I move through my day, but I am a frequency and a vibration and the power that and the wholeness that comes with that. So when I am in this state, and when I talk about being in your light and feeling and embodying love, no, this is not something that you are in all the time. And I will get into this, but so I want to just speak to, I'm in it right now. I kind of think of it as like my flow state. Um, so I get tingly through my whole body, um, including the parts of my body that I have neuropathy or numbness. I feel really vibrant, really energetic, um, kind of dreamy, like I'm a little bit floaty. Um, I feel incredibly supported when I'm in this kind of flow love embodied state. I generally get lots of signs. So I'll again get into that, but even these card pulls, seeing one-one on my clock, those are synchronous synchronicities. Those are to me um signs and guidance that I'm doing what I'm meant to do. I am where I'm meant to be, and there's a freeing feeling that comes with confirmation that I'm exactly where I need to be. I get this lens of curiosity. So I might know what my day is gonna kind of look like, but when I'm in this like really open state, I am really curious and playful, and I'm like wondering what will fall into my day, what will come into my life. And I I explain this because I get this in other practices and kundalini and breathwork. Um, I feel like it is connecting to your higher power, it is honoring that you're more than a body and that you are spiritual energy. Um, but it is like I used to drink, it's that it's similar to that tingly feeling when you've had a couple drinks. Or um if you get high from smoking marijuana or weed or whatever, um, you get that tingly sensation, or I do, and especially in the parts of me that I have neuropathy. So the physical sensation is beautiful, but it just kind of reminds me, especially someone with medical stuff, that oh, there's so much more to me than just this physical body. And I'm going to say here um that I do believe that I will heal and that I will recover. Um, I'm trusting the timing, but I'm remembering that I came here whole, I came here healthy, and that my body knows what to do. It just might need a little bit of support. I'm not against Western medicine at all. Super grateful for that. However, I do walk through life feeling like I have a rare condition, they don't know anything about it, even when new things pop up. I know that Western medicine won't understand it, and I really do come into trusting that my body is doing what it's supposed to do. I'm not negligent about it, but right now, even I've got some really interesting symptoms, and rather than thinking them of them as symptoms, I really am paying attention to them, but feeling like it is my body kind of coming back. So I just wanted to touch on the fact that the fact that I can be in a state where I can feel my entire body tingling, I can feel sensation. Um, I really remind myself of the power I have in this body, and that I don't need to sit and wait for a solution, but rather trust and be open to what my body might have to show me. Um, I like to talk about this and lead sessions because it's my dream for everyone to be able to get to this place. Um, as I move through my day, the world is just like so much slower. Um, everything I look at is beautiful. Like I look up at the sky and the trees and the birds, and I feel a connection with all of them. There's this like, ooh, what's gonna happen? Anticipation of just exciting things ahead. And I actually feel love and connection. So I will kiss and hug my husband and my kids, and sometimes it's just the act of it. But when I'm allowing myself to really be in this moment, be embodied in oof, this sensation, um, hugs are different, touch is different, eye connection, like my heart feels it, my body feels it, and it just fills me up. I think uh one kind of way that might be easier to explain is like laying in the sun or feeling the sun shine on you and how you feel like you're charging, and I do believe the sun charges us, but you're feeling your physical body receive. You can feel how you don't need to do anything but receive and just be. And there's I don't know, there's this piece about the sun that I think that's a really good way of explaining it because then I do feel like from my physical body, I then extend up into the light of the sun. And now you might think I'm this crazy woo-woo bitch, but um there is this empowering, freeing, almost out-of-body, yet physically feeling that I just want you all to share. So I'm gonna just chat a little bit about all of that today and why um, how I numbed love, how I numbed this frequency, this this ability to believe and remember that I can feel this and live like this, and some of my experiences and how I've gotten to this beautiful place that I hope you can get to through some practices I might talk about, or connecting with me so I can support you with it, or just on your own by believing and allowing. So I want to say right here before I kind of dive in, just that um if anything I say doesn't resonate, I really invite you not to just write off all of it. Just be open to whatever lands with you, whatever your heart might hear, whatever might just feel like an aha. I genuinely believe if you're here with me listening to this, there's purpose, there's reason. You were put here, you're meant to listen to this for a reason. And so, however this lands with you, just be open, even if you're just curious and wondering about it. So I do believe we all come here in with this wholeness and vulnerability, and we can feel fully. Um, I believe kids' vibrations are so high, and we enter the world in this state, and I think kids and their vibration and their vulnerability can crack us wide open, can let us feel the most pure feelings ever if we let it. But I do believe as adults, a lot of us have trouble allowing the deepest feelings to be felt, partly because I think we've learned it's not safe. Um, or there's been environments where our fullest feelings weren't welcome. No shame to anyone, just that we that's not how our world works yet. I really would love for this to shift, but we don't allow all of the feelings. We protect very much so. We allow defenses to step in. And I think if you've lost or you've had grief or hardships, those parts of us are there to protect us, and that's very fair. But I think it does create some heaviness and it closes us off. And when when that is the environment or the space that kids are then brought up in or surrounded in the environment, it just kind of dims that. It tells us to play a little bit small. Maybe we feel I remember this, but like just feeling like I'm too big, I'm too much energy, I'm too much of whatever isn't welcome in the space, and so we do, we dim and we protect. I try my hardest as a parent to be vulnerably open to feel because I have a son that I think is very much like me when I was a kid, felt big, and I don't want emotions and big feelings to not be welcome. They do need to be learnt of how to process them in the world that we are in, but not to disconnect from them or not validate them and feel them. And then as we age, oh then we just like the layers of don't show your shit get bigger and bigger. You go through those vulnerable teen years and adult years where you're just trying to blend in a bit, um, trying to I think survive in some ways to not be too much, like I talked about. And then we also just unlearn that play and joy and fun, and how that allows us to meet ourselves. As we get older, we just start to take ourselves too serious, and it it really does just block that fierce love, that fierce joy, that fierce fun. Also, I remember like in teen years, don't have too much fun because you're gonna stand out, or someone's gonna make fun of you, whatever it might be. And we do, we literally block out or forget our light, forget how big we can feel and how bright our feelings can be, whether it be the highs or the lows, but feeling, I feel like the human experience we signed up to do just that, but we can truly numb it and numb it and numb it to blend, to survive, to get by. And I think for a lot of us, those are the walls that right now we're really craving to knock down. And oh, when you give yourself permission to know that you can expand beyond the walls and expand your light and that you're not too much, and learn to put yourselves in rooms where that is invited, and then protect your energy in rooms where you might need to protect that light, but minimize how often you have to be in those rooms. It can be just so huge and life-shifting. I will say that we have to trust the timing because sometimes it takes low lows to be able to remember the lens that we came here with, remember who we are and how good it can actually be because we are reminded of the lens that we came into life with, knowing that we're not here forever and knowing that we all have a purpose and trusting and kind of letting go of the things that we try to control and manipulate in our day, which do ultimately, I think, just drop our vibration and and hide our light. So coming to fiercely feeling or loving fiercely, um, I remember my entire everything about me being that I was big feelings. I love hard, I still do. Um I wasn't taught, I think, how to heal from that, or even just that loving big and living with your heart on your sleeve, um, that there that it's going to come with some hardships. But I'll sit here today at almost 40 saying it's worth it, and I want to love big and feel all the joy. And with that, I know there will be sadness, but now I've learned how to be with that and to be with grief. And now I'm in a place where I know that that's normal, that that's part of life, that you can't have the good, those big highs without also feeling some lows, but being able to still meet it with so much joy that I got to experience it. So I'm going to go into just a couple of experiences. For one, at almost 40, I look back at relationships I had as a teen where I was like almost made to feel like I shouldn't love. And I know that being told that was to protect me, but I loved. And I'm so grateful for the relationships I got to be in because it was love. I loved hard and it taught me a lot about love. It was met with love, it was a good relationship. For the most part. And oh, I'm so glad I embraced that and leaned into it. Were there lessons to learn in that? Yes, absolutely. But oof, I loved fiercely. And yes, I also in high school had big depression because I needed to also remember that I was also my own person and I also needed to take care of myself and put myself not just as part of this partnership, but also as my own person and prioritize myself. But I wouldn't change that because I also learned so much in those lows. So that's a big feeling. I also, when I think back, remember being so full of love and playfulness and feeling almost the same tingly light when I was a kid too. Playing in the trees was a big one. Sitting in a tree stand with my dad and watching, we never we weren't hunting even, but just watching a deer come in and my whole body being so alive. And oh, I just tingle thinking about that. Or I remember we went and sat in a tree stand and watched bear come in. My dad's a beautiful human. He does hunt, but I absolutely love how he hunts. Coming back to the story, watching wildlife come in and realizing like we're so connected, and that all the things that we left back at home and in our town to come out to nature and experience this were so small, and all that shit really doesn't matter. And I remember just like my body feeling so alive. It was amazing. In my adulthood, I do want to speak to a couple of really big experiences that have uh really grounded me and brought me back to reminding me that I'm more than my body. Um taking my holy fire Reiki training. I remember feeling almost like I was floaty and high and like one with trees and birds, and I drove around and I I still get like this um when I'm in these flow states, just this smile on my face. Like I can't stop smiling. I'm floaty, it's dreamy. Ooh, it's amazing. So when I when I took my Reiki training, that was a really big one for me, and it I think just reminded me of connection of our energy. And when I took my holy fire training, I could physically feel energy in my body while I was either working on myself or working on somebody else. And I still get this sensation whenever I do like energy work, whether it be one-on-one or in groups or or whatever. I don't feel like I turn it off. I'm mindful of my energy and when I'm giving, but I get that feeling a lot. It's really beautiful. Um, and oh gosh, that lasted forever. And um, these are not, this is from the Reiki course, these are not my words, but I know you can find it anywhere now. But there's a prayer that goes with Reiki, and all I have to say are these three lines, and I instantly embody that feeling like I'm connected, I am one with Earth, I am one with everything around me, my whole body lights up. These three lines are just for today, be happy and free. Just for today, have joy. Just for today, you are taken care of. And there's just a power in like just for today, like just right now, be those things happy and free, have joy. I'm taken care of. And I would I still recite those a lot to myself, the whole prayer, but um those three words just it bring me into my body, and my heart hears it, and our heart really is our soul, it's our compass. And when your heart hears something, it goes beyond just your physical body. It takes you to your soul, your spirit, your light. I get taken into the same state when I write. Um, when I write something and read it, or if I record a meditation and then I listen to it, oh, it's just like it is. It's a feeling of like coming home. And when you feel like you're home and you're whole, you get into that state. I'm I'm really curious after posting this recording, what other people might have to say about what they feel when they're in these states or even in listening to this with energy flowing and intention set for connection. As far as loving fiercely, ooh, this was a massive shift for me. Um, my husband and I were in Bali at a retreat, and um I think it was just the energy work session, but I allowed myself to be really open. There was a lot of things going on. Uh, we were on the other side of the world, my kids were at home. We hadn't ever left them um for more than a couple of days, and the buildup to that trip was oh, just like I got my diagnosis, my son had got my diagnosis. I think I was really scared of being away in case something came up. So releasing fear was a really big one, as I've mentioned, I was letting go of. Um, and there was pandemic, there was family stuff that came up, and so also entrusting people to care for my kids was huge for me. We had gotten really close, and so to be on the other side of the earth without my kids, my son was struggling, but in great hands, and we were in this meditation, and I got this insane surge, and I'd have to go back in my journal exactly about what was coming up. But my son was coming up, there was a lot of healing about connection with my kids and childhood and so many things, but I got this feeling, and I've had it before too, of how much love I have for my son. And it made me realize how much I wasn't letting myself feel that because of fear, because I had been told he might not be around, and that moment reminded me how fiercely I can love. And it was almost a time lapse, like a movie of like all the moments in my life that maybe I was hurt or I was scared to lose or whatever, and I blocked my ability to fully love. And since that moment, oh, I wish everyone on the earth could remember how intense and how beautiful and freeing, and it was the most amazing sensation in my body to love so fiercely, to let myself drop all my guards and just love, and also know that I can, I can allow that much feeling because I can also, I think, learned that I can also grieve really hard, and it's not easy, but blocking my feeling of love and joy is not worth it. And after that experience, it's been interesting actually, because after the retreat, my husband and I just had a week together, and I instantly um him and I were like wanting to do different things, and I was right away feeling not in any way because of his actions, but just like default catching myself like loving him so much, but then feeling like I'm being too much and pulling back. And so we were really we were able to have some big conversations about that, and oh, being able to love and letting yourself like, yes, shit's gonna happen in life, but being able to be in love with this moment and with yourself and with just the sky above you and the sun above you, and just letting that ripple everywhere, oh, it was the most amazing feeling. I I literally wish I could put it in a jar and share it with everyone. It was unreal. And I've had a similar experience, and I I encourage you to do this, but little things like getting to nature is a really big one for me. It's a really big one for everyone. It's how we ground, it's how you get out of your head, it's how you're reminded of the fact that you're more than all the things that the world needs you for, career and parenting and keeping your house shit together. Um, but uh there was one afternoon I do this. I'm I'm pretty playful. I I do let myself step out of the world quite a bit. It's how I stay grounded and in this beautiful state. But I went in my backyard and we have clover and dandelions, and I just watched a bee. And it was like being a little girl all over again because I used to do these things, but I just watched this bee move around and was reminded that I share the world with this bee and it's living its life. And even though I might be so in my head and running around this world, these little moments are happening, and I think those are really good ways to get yourself back to who you are beyond all the things, who where your wholeness lands when you allow yourself to step back. And so I sat in my backyard and I leaned up against a tree. And there's a beautiful author, Sarah Blonden, who had encouraged this. I think she did it for 20 days or something. She'd go the same tree and lean against it. Shout out to Sarah Blonden, she's amazing if you don't follow her. But I sat there in my backyard and just like watched my house and the sky and whatever was happening. And it isn't crazy because I talk to my house all the time. Um, taking my somatic train, like I explained, is like coming back to embodying and knowing that we really are truly all connected. But so I sat there and it was so still, and the world was so chill. And I sat there being like, this is my tree's life, this is what it sees, it sees me run around, it sees whatever is shown here, but it just gets to stand here and pause and be still. When we give ourselves permission to not be in the rat race that we're told we need to be in, we can do that, chill, sit, be still, surrender, come back to everything that I was everything I needed to be in that moment. I just needed to sit and breathe and be the soul that I was put here to be. And that was so simple, but so such a great reminder to really our wholeness. We're beyond all the things that we're told we need to do, and we just are light and breath and a being here. So I want to take a couple minutes just to talk about some of the things I do that help me kind of stay in this state. Um this is not how I feel 24-7. That would be so um, I think just that would be very challenging, and I don't think that's the purpose. I like to think of this feeling of light and love as a state that I return to, a state that I remember. It's not this bar that I'm always chasing, it is instead like my calibration. It's like tuning a guitar and remembering what your home vibration is and allowing yourself to return. Doesn't mean you'll stay there forever, but being able to flow in and out and be aware of when you need to return or when you've maybe strayed too far almost, but it it's a feeling of home. So this leads me to my why of why I do what I do professionally. Um and like I feel like I don't really turn it off because I move through my day like like this, whether someone is a client of mine or not. I think it's just human exchange, but um, some of the practices that I really advocate for. So for me, it all started with meditation, um, allowing yourself to find a spot to go, to pause, to be with nothing else but whatever you feel in your body, whatever the mind maybe needs you to hear, and then truly it's returning to your heart, returning to whatever you're supposed to be shown. And I will dive into all these practices as separate episodes, but things you can kind of dive into. Meditation was a huge one for me. It was no longer resisting my thinking thoughts, but letting them just kind of pass by, knowing that they're not who I am, but just like a part of my journey. And then really coming into what I needed to be shown, it was a way that brought me back to intuition, to my heart's voice, um, and invited me to feel when I first started meditation, and I I feel like I see this a lot. If you don't allow a lot of stillness for yourself, and then you start to add it in, let it be baby steps. There's a million different kinds of meditation. It doesn't need to be sitting even. You can do walking meditations, but when you allow yourself time to pause and like meet the thoughts, but not let them control where you currently are, coming back into the breath, noticing whatever you're feeling, and let it be processed, then you can just come to this really freeing, open, grounded place. And again, it does feel like a high. I can understand why in society it's easier for us to consume something that will take us to that state, that tingle, that feeling of high, instead of feeling the hard shit that will ultimately then also get us there. One's easier and more accepted than the other, unfortunately. Um next would have been, I think, somatic experiencing, probably. Um, that was really life-shifting for me. It's a huge practice I use all the time. It is meeting our parts, it is noticing what we're physically feeling in the body and taking it more as just a sensation, but what the message or the body might be trying to tell us. And it was here where I really learned that I can have parts of me that are really quiet and are feeling really good, but then parts of me that are really loud and are asking for connection and attention and being able to experience that and being able to ultimately on a challenging day um create space for me to sit with my body to notice what sensations I probably didn't notice all day because it was so focused on the task at hand or what was going on in the environment and not internally, which at no fault, again, we're we're we're taught that the disconnect, the focus on keeping ourselves safe and doing the things we're supposed to do. And so it was very much on learning and coming back to these are practices that we have always had. We didn't used to have to tell our bodies, hey, I'm listening to you, because we were, and now we are just very busy. So that was a really big one, and that was where I started to feel like I had like an idea. I don't know how to explain this. Like my body was its own person, and my heart is its own person, kind of. Um when you get into part works, you also learn that there are many different personalities almost that make us up, and they're all welcome, and we have to be able to listen to them all and and work together. But um, somatic experiencing was a really big one, and and a huge piece of that, which like I talked about at the very beginning, was coming into connection with my senses, holy, such a simple concept. Um, and I just had this chat with my son. I was trying to help him just kind of come back from being really dysregulated, and we were sitting outside, and I think this is the best way to explain it, but I asked him, which of your you know about the five senses, and we went through them, and I was like, which one makes you feel the most calm? Is it when you hear something? Is it seeing something? Is it smelling something, tasting something, feeling something? And that was a really big practice for me when I first started somatic experiencing, too, was coming back to my senses, such a simple concept, but a beautiful way to come back to the physical body, because sometimes we start to think that we need to disconnect because we're feeling something too big that we can't process, and that's no fault of ours. But being able to come back to the senses was really huge. And just what are you experiencing? What are you feeling? But I know now that, like, if I am feeling really worked up or dysregulated, or my nervous system's in like a fight or flight for a reason it doesn't need to be. Um, a really big one is closing my eyes. That can be too much for some people, but I knew I know that closing my eyes helps me to come into my body. Um, burning Palo Santo or Sage or something instantly grounds me. And music. Now I worked in fitness for so long that my music was all big. It was all big energy, it was all high energy, it was like motivate, get things done, energy, which is awesome. And I still love that, but oof, I needed non-lyrical and I needed chill, and and now even just listening to Hertz music, um, those things ground me. And I I did need to really learn what senses. That's something you can play with because again, that can bring me right back to my state of like embodiment and feeling of light and beyond body, yet embodied. Um, that was a really big one. Then I think breath work. Um, this is why I also love coaching all these things, but breath work. Breath means spirit in Sanskrit, and uh, it's with us from our first moment on earth. And when you can connect with your breath, you can do amazing things for your body, for your nervous system, and you can meet yourself in a different way. Breath work for me was huge because I could feel everything in my body when I did breath work. My feet, my shins, my calves, places that I didn't have a lot of sensation were awake and alive. And it It was, again, it was like almost handing me back my power of like my body's still here. It still knows. Don't give it away with a diagnosis. And so breath work was also a way to get out of my head and really land into my heart and my deepest truths. And so breath work is something I love to coach people. Um, yes, it's intense, but oh, I think there's so much power and it brings you home in breath. I'm gonna get super excited about this. I'll do a whole session about that. And then um, I think sound baths were probably my next one. And sound baths are amazing. They first of all create stillness, they allow you or invite you to just be with yourself, which I think most of us need. Most of us are a lot of us are scared to meet ourselves because we have so much that we haven't unpacked and we know it's there, and maybe we don't know how to process it, or we've never been in a space where that was welcome. Oh, so many of my whys. It's amazing when you can create a space and people show up and allow themselves to feel to process, we are not broken, but to feel the parts of us that maybe felt like they were broken and to do that not by yourself is a huge shift in healing. Um, back to sound baths. Sound baths, lots of times sound bowls, they each play to a different frequency. They're each kind of attuned to a chakra. So there's the actual vibration piece of that to kind of get things moving, to help you ground, but also relax without a screen or something to distract you outside of the body. Um, so sound baths, so amazing. And then um kundalini's been a really big one for me, kundalini yoga. Partially because my yoga practice has up until the last two weeks, um, like doing standing and flow, I felt more frustrated in it than I did feel good just because of my physical limitations and my balance. And I loved kundalini because I could do all of it, or I could modify it so easily, and it had that breathwork piece in it, and it brings you to like third chakra, higher frequency. Um, if you would have asked me to do kundalini, I don't know, 15 years ago when I was doing my yoga training and stuff, I don't know if I would have loved it right away, but um, I teach it to youth all the time because I think even if there's one thing we're in a challenging moment, you can do a quick two-minute kundalini to release energy, to come back into your body, to connect with your higher, with the things that aren't just in your physical body but in your spirit. Um, kundalini's huge. Absolutely love teaching it. And then actually getting into acupressure has been a really big one for me in the last bit. Again, it's in my body. Um, I feel my body, but I'm also listening to music or whatever. Just like sprinkling in, and I'm not saying that every day I do all of these, these are just things that have brought me back to this place where I'm reminded how much power I have in my journey, in my wholeness. Because I think a lot of times, just had this chat last night in my soul dive. There are so many practices and tools, but also like um the self-care plate is so heavy now, and I think lots of people feel like they have to have all the things in on their plate to be doing it right, and it absolutely isn't. I think sometimes the biggest thing we can do is allowing yourself to come back to your heart, to come back to your intuition, to your soul's vice, to your soul's voice. That is our inner compass, that's our purest, softest voice. That isn't leaving the body, but our intuition can really guide us into what is most important. And in my health journey, I'm really grateful that I've been able to tune into what my body is feeling called to, signs and trust about what I'm being shown. Um, because if I were to try to do everything all the time, I would be absolutely exhausted. Um, there were chapters where it was working out, brought me my well, no, it connected me with my body. It made me feel good about my health. It didn't connect me spiritually at all, I will say. I think that was a huge piece of my story, my shift with my health stuff, because it was like, hey, this isn't gonna do it all for you. Umiverse shift, we're gonna put you in this healing um situation where your body feels broken, so that you need to find your way back to wholeness, even if your body isn't a hundred percent at the moment, and allowing myself to know that I can be that and that I am that, and that I'm just working through things. But so I did. I went through phases of meditation got me there, and somatics got me there, and sound baths, and breath work, and kundalini, and whatever it might be. And now I really do go, I ask my body, what do I need today? And honestly, lately it's been telling me really simple little things. Um, hold a yoga pose for a couple minutes, go record a podcast. I do believe this is a big piece of connecting myself again, speaking my truth. Um, so it's it's trusting. And then acupuncture, massage and all the those things, um, even they felt like I had them so structured in and so scheduled that even they started to feel heavy. So I think it's really not letting the self-care list feel really heavy, but asking the body and the heart, and the more you connect inward, I can feel a hundred percent, um, even though my gait isn't perfect and oh my legs are just tingling talking about it, but I know my body is returning to its whole, but I don't have to do a whole bunch of things to get there. I think a huge piece for me when I get into these flow embodiment, almost enlightenment feelings, it's when I allow myself to put down my stories. Um, stories that medical teams have told me, stories that my nervous system told me to protect me, um to allow myself to just feel and process and be open to meet whatever comes my way, to be flexible, to trust. A definite piece of it is spirituality and knowing I'm more than just this body, but I'm a light. Um I bring a lot of beautiful energy to this world. And people say this, I think Maddie even said this to me in one of our recordings, but but being told you are such a light, you've gone through so much, and I really just want to reflect this back at you. You are such a light. All of you, every single listener, and all the people in your life have the ability and are such a light when you tune in. When you I love how um the author of Anatomy of Awakening, Sue Mortar, Dr. Sue Mortar, speaks to thinking of ourselves from the bottom up. And rather than you being a project, that this has been a big unlearning for me. I'm not a project, I'm not a self-help, like that's not where I need to be. I need to remember that I'm whole, I need to drop the stories, I need to be okay where I am, also trust myself and reminding myself in the moments where I feel like it's my physical body that I need to fix. It's allowing myself to do something for that, but also coming back to my heart and my energy and my vibration, um, and being able to exist in all of that because, and this is something I've worked through too. You can't get there just spiritually either. And I think I've done both. I think I've tried to um tend to myself just physically. Exercise physiologist tried to use all the exercises and all the things I could possibly come up with to strengthen and get flexibility back and all of that. But then I've also done the spiritual piece where and worked with people that I think felt like that was it, that I could get there just through spirituality, and you can't. And I feel like I'll do a whole episode on spiritual bypassing, but I have to be able to be in my body and feel my emotions and allow myself to expand beyond that. I can't just pick one or the other. I have to allow myself to be all of it and feel all of it because it's also the most amazing sensation and experience. And it is me and my wholeness. And I just want to quote again, Dr. Sue Mortar, check out her podcast, she's amazing. Quote her just wholeness isn't something you achieve, it's something you remember. It rises when you stop striving, stop efforting, and begin to resonate with the deeper truth of your being. Check out her book. It's absolutely amazing. Um, Anatomy of Awakening. I'm just diving into that one. But when we remember that we're not broken and that we came here whole, and it's again just returning home to our heart and to our intuition and to our light and all that we've come here to be, and then letting ourselves just move through our day and sprinkle that around. And so this is where um I can't remember if I've spoken to this, but it's always kind of in the back of my mind. People um, I get this sense sometimes where uh, yes, I have mobility and some health things that I'm working through. And yes, I've had lots of struggles, but how at peace I am with that, I really truly am. Yes, I do want my health back, but I also wouldn't change anything because where I'm at, how I can feel, how I can move through my day is something I would have never dreamt I could experience. And I needed, I think spiritually to be kind of booted and shifted out of just being my physical body and all it can do, and really returning to my heart and how vulnerable and how big I felt, and how really that is my superpower, I believe. I believe that by being able to process that and hold space for that and speak to my experiences of unraveling and unlearn unlearning the caging of that, that is where I get to be myself the most and where I get to help crack people open. I do get to move through my life with a huge frickin' smile on my face, and it's authentic. And if you see me looking bitchy, it's usually because I'm either blocking my energy or I'm just not being fake because I've learned that takes way more of my vibration away than just allowing myself to be in whatever state that I'm in. Um when I allow myself this ability to be with my soul embodiment, I feel amazing. I trust my body, I trust its ability and the ability of my mind to meet my soul. Um, I find acceptance in where I'm at and also trust and faith. And I really don't feel like I'm broken, but that I'm learning or unlearning. Um, I get to feel curious and open, and I am consciously aware of my thoughts and my stories, and I get to embody all of that and feel beyond that. So I want to speak to kind of because I said I don't always live in this floaty, dreamy, tingly, almost high feeling state. Um, it's what I return to. There are days that I am in it almost all day, and then there are chapters where I have to remind myself to process to do the work I need to do to return home. Um, because it is, like I said, a calibration. So when these are the things that kind of come up when I catch myself or have awareness that I'm closed off or I'm disembodied. Um, I'm numb or I'm kind of on autopilot because even though I'm aware of it, I still catch myself. There's still seasons of life that are hard where I catch myself in that. Um it's easier to check out, and I'm constantly reminded by my heart, by card pulls, by things I read that um this path isn't easy, but it's very much worth it. And doing the work and being able to get to this state took a lot of work, but it was so worth it. I wouldn't change anything. But maybe some of these resonate with you, and you can kind of see where you can catch yourself or bring some awareness into numbing or checking out. Um, doom scrolling is a huge one. If I catch myself on my phone a lot, it's usually I'm avoiding processing something, or I'm not being honest about how I'm moving through my day, something I need to drop in my life. Um, I'll use I almost always catch myself eating shitty or not eating enough, is another one. Um trying like being tired, sleeping in, um, doing things that don't support my routine and my self-care, although sometimes that is just what I need too, is more sleep. Um, I'll catch myself. This is kind of a give and take. Emotional, yes. But um, even in the last two weeks, the full moon, this last bit, was kind of tough. And I found myself kind of stuck and feeling like I wasn't processing, and that was exactly it. Um, I had taken myself out of some of my routines, I had a little injury come up that kind of put me into a hard head space, but um, I was catching myself isolating myself and not feeling, like I've said in past podcasts, if I don't have a good cry or a good laugh, or like have some big feelings in my day, I know I'm avoiding something. I know I'm numbing to some point. And the emotional one was I was holding sadness and frustration. And um with that was coming a little bit of resentment and feeling alone. And those are my defaults. That's where I catch myself when I am not allowing myself to feel to process because I could just sit with that, journal it, feel it, and feel lighter and be able to return back to my calibration, to my light a little bit quicker, but I was blocking. And when I block grief, sadness, anger, it does also block out the good stuff. Then I I was in such a good place with my husband. We were feeling so much connection, and then I caught myself with some other things, other areas of life bubbling up, but it was interfering with my connection with my people, and it was getting me in my head. And so that's why I say, like, we really do have to be able to feel the hard stuff to then be able to fully feel the good stuff and not resisting it. Um, I'll catch myself just not taking care of myself, basically in all ways. Um, my self-care movement or routines, I wasn't doing breath work or kundalini or anything. I wasn't just even sitting outside looking at the sky, I wasn't reading. Um, and I could even feel really hard energy. I kind of felt like for me, it feels like I just squeeze into a really tight ball and I move through my day, but I don't get connection and I feel heavy. And it is easier then to take on low vibration. So then you're already in a hard space, you're feeling really pent up, um, you'll find yourself around people that are low energy, you will see low vibe stuff on your phone, and all of that kind of gets absorbed a little bit quicker, and then you just move on to autopilot. And so that's when it's really important to figure out how to either meet yourself, or for me, sometimes it's I need a one-on-one session, or what I always recommend to people is having a community that you meet with regularly. It doesn't need to be something big, but it is a place where you get to meet yourself with vulnerability, you get to process and feel. And there's always power when you feel like you're in the right chapter of life to find a community, a circle, a space of people who are trying to do the same for themselves, to then have feelings, talk about shit, feel heard, and also be able to hold space for other people because I think that's that brings us home to our heart even more. Also, I will catch myself dropping the the sense support. I I think last week, I don't even think I burnt incense. I and I'm speaking to these things very much as a human, and I just had a big snap back into embodiment, into feeling fiercely, loving fiercely, and feeling that like enlightened sensation, um, but more fully just recently, but yeah, I had dropped even the senses stuff, the music, the sense, the laying on my shakti mat, like all those things that I do for myself to check in, to be in the moment, to be in my wholeness. Um, those were all things that I dropped. And and then being able to meet myself without resentment or frustration, and instead meet myself with compassion of like, what do I need? Where am I? What's one little thing I can do to shift? I think it's important to just to touch on this before I kind of go into how I come back into embodiment, back into my light, is that um many of us move through our day with protectors. And this is I'm not against schools by any means, but like I remember as a kid being in a place where I had to block my energy, and I know when my light started to dim, it was in grade three, and the room felt heavy, the teacher had really hard energy. Um, I had just moved, so I didn't have a whole whole lot of friends, and I was watching the clock just like go by, and I didn't feel like I could be who I was, and then when I went home, I just felt sad, and I didn't I I really think that's when as a kid my light really started to dim. And and in saying that, we're all moving through the world with this protection around us, but then we're meeting everyone else with their protectors instead of our hearts, and this has been a huge like, aha, that's a great way to explain it. And I know it s seems super simple, but when I talk about um removing myself from relationships or rooms or places where I feel like things are superficial, there's small talk, there's no vulnerability, it's very, it's very protected, really. Um, and I can understand. And I say this all the time. We all have are on different soul journeys. We all are moving through the path we're intended to be on. We are not gonna all be able to move with open hearts and vulnerability. I would love that. I really truly would love if we could all just move through life like that. However, I can now meet people where they're at too. But what I will say is when we keep putting ourselves in these rooms where things are superficial or where all of our protectors are on and our masks are on and we have a like facade or identity that we need to withhold, we don't get to meet each other with openness. Even if you have like a little bit deeper chat, if you don't feel safe in that space and you don't feel like other people are open and vulnerable, then we're meeting each other with protectors. And you notice that once you get to a place where you can pay attention to when your protectors are up and when you're open and in that flow state. And then you'll notice how hard it is to be in those rooms, in that lower vibration energy full of protectors where we aren't living intention intuitive and heart-led, but rather just kind of on an autopilot, going through the motions, doing the things we feel like we need to do with all of the guards up, all the masks on. Which on the flip side reminds me and gives me confirmation of why I love and live to hold space where anyone can be exactly who they are in the moment, feel how they need to feel, feel safe to be vulnerable and meet some of their protectors so that their protectors can also be heard and soften, and then other parts can have a voice also. Um yeah, in my work, I'm grateful there's no bullshit. We literally, I get to invite people and hold space on whatever level is comfortable for them to crack open. And hard, yes, but I can't say how hard it is once you know what's on the other side. It's hard and heavy to walk around, contributing to a world of muted love and joy and happiness and vulnerability and availability. And it's my why for the work I do. And I'm really grateful that I got to choose this, and you can too, by just first trying to do some things to embody yourself, your wholeness, your love, your light. And in saying that, I am not saying to be vulnerable and crack yourself open all the time because certainly that would not serve us well. Protectors have a purpose. Um, we live in a world where, yeah, that is very much needed. I love my protectors, but what is really important is that I put myself around people and in rooms and hold space for myself where those protectors don't always have to be in action, and I can connect more with my heart and more with that soft soul voice, my inner compass, and I can shine my light without needing to worry about it being kind of my energy being taken without being met with the same energy and love and and compassion. So I want to speak to what my life looks like, how I feel when I am embodied and open. And I invite you just to take a nice deep breath. Okay, so in the journey to find this place where I get to live in this body and feel alive and whole and supported and connected to everything above, everything below, um, I had to let life slow down even in this moment. It doesn't have to be shifting everything, and this has taken me 10 years to shift, but just allowing yourself even just to come into this moment, reminding myself that I'm safe, that I have breath, noticing what I can feel. Take a minute to notice just what you feel right now in this moment. Let yourself look around. Allowing our eyes to scan the space automatically tells our nervous system that we're okay, that we can relax. Um allowing nothing to move and just letting everything in this moment be peaceful. Um reminding yourself that you don't need to perform more, you don't have to try harder, you don't have to change who you are. Um put in less effort, unlearn and try to just listen for the quietest voice within you. Our body speaks with a soft, slow, caring voice. If it's hard words or judgment that comes up, that's our mind. Um and so just being able to, yeah, slow. And I think as I've shifted and come to this place where this is where I like to spend most of my time, which took, yeah, it took career change, it took setting boundaries with people, it took all the things that were taking, um, so that I could first meet myself and do my work and slowly figure out what I needed and what it felt like to be in this space so then I could adjust what I needed in my life. Um, but when I am embodied, when I'm open, when I am in flow state, um, I do. I talk to my body. My body is my best friend. When I first started this practice, I couldn't even say I love you to my to myself without having a total meltdown. Um I feel connected with everything like I said. Even like in the grocery store or driving around, I just feel connection. And when I smile at someone, it's genuine and it's always met. And there's just, ah, it's like people can feel my good energy and are like, thank you. Um, I see angel numbers everywhere, license plates, phone. I'll be doing my books and I'll be seeing angel numbers, um, signs. There's signs around us all the time. The universe, angels, guides, whatever you want to kind of label that as, are always trying to give us signs and connect. And so little things, I'm trying to think what are some signs? I'll I'll come back to that because they're they can be everything and everywhere. When I'm in this state, I often feel called to not take the same path, like driving to work, or I'll just go on a little bit longer drive, or I'll park somewhere in nature for five minutes and just take in the beauty of nature. I stay in my self-care practices, and more so my practices and my routine might change because if I'm intuitively listening to my body, it changes. Um, there's not one routine that works to take care of me because every day there's something different. So I do really love to start my day. I'll say my prayer or my my mantra, whatever it is, and even just put hands on my heart and I'll be like, what do I need today? And I'm usually shown a couple of things. They're never heavy, they're always things that are easy to sprinkle into my day, and those are my three things or my two things that I need to do for myself. Um, and yeah, I honor those when I'm in that state. I make sure that I meditate or I go to nature, whatever, whatever it might be. Um, maybe too much information, but when I am living in alignment, in embodiment, in full flow with my soul, um, my cycle, my menstrual cycle always matches the full moon. Always, always, always. And I know that might sound totally crazy, but when I started really diving into the moon and paying attention to her cycles and trying to adjust my life to be like that, to live more cyclically, I literally, I think I'm on like three or four years, and that was after that was after some really messy um stuff before having my son. So my my cycle matched up. Um, I can feel presence and support, which I don't know how to explain that other than I just feel protected, like the space around me is warm and just the feeling of safety, and I just know my team is watching over me. Guys, simple things like yesterday I was in the most intense flow embodied spiritual state I've been in a while. My whole body's vibing. Um, I am just feeling dreamy and flowy, and I played crib with my husband, and like the cards I was being dealt, it was like unreal. Just I won PS. But yeah, like little things like that, or we'll play Monopoly, and I couldn't have better things being dealt to me. Um, I'll never forget I was going through gross pandemic finance shit, and I I finally owned up that I needed to do this, this, this, I needed to ask for help about this, got it all sorted. The day that I handed it in and dealt with it, I literally, it was, I think it was one-one. The vehicle in front of me in the drive-thru to get a coffee was one-one one on the license plate. I got home, there was something in the mail with a bunch of coupons that were 111. And it was just like, oh, I think we might have even played Yahtzee, and like I was just everything aligns, and that's where manifestation comes in too, which I'll sprinkle that in. Manifestation is huge when I'm in this state because I'm not controlling, I'm open, I'm just flowing and trusting and open to receive all the good instead of blocking it out. And there's been some like unreal manifestation stuff that's come to light. I'll do a whole episode on that because I could talk about that forever. Um, I'll speak to the vibe of my house and my kids and my husband, they're in a different state. And I know my husband and I have spoken about one being in a good place and one being in a low place, but that's one way that we do find more balance is being when I'm in that open flow, that shit, that energy comes right back to my family, to our relationships. We're more connected. We're when I'm outside more. Um, I spoke to this recently, but when I am noticing the sky and the trees, and I hear the birds, and when I'm in flow state, I can feel them. It's like I can hear, I'm gonna sound woo-woo, but I can almost like hear and feel what the birds are experiencing, and I can hear and feel the trees as I'm driving by, and they have little loving messages, and it literally feels like I'm dreaming. It's amazing, except that I'm walking my damn path on this earth. It's remarkable. Overall, you just feel more connected with everything and everyone, you're in a like oneness state where you're all just in this beautiful, dreamy experience, and whatever is put before you, you can just see a lighter energy in it. Um, I think you can meet challenges with a bit more openness because rather than meeting it with defenses or taking it personal, you can just kind of meet it and be like, hmm, curious about it. And you can meet people with way less judgment. Um, there's a really beautiful um book I will not get into, but just about meeting people for the first time. I don't have the title and everything on the top of my mind, but um yeah, just being able to meet people where they're at. It's amazing. And I think it's sometimes I feel like I don't talk about it a ton, partly because I'm like, oh, I feel bad that lots of people aren't experiencing this. And here I am walking through my day or doing one-on-one sessions or leading retreats or breath work, and like I get to be in the state, and and I just feel like everyone else is missing out. So it's my why. It's why I try to share these tools that help me to get to this beautiful place. Um, even picking up a good book and it really resonating with my heart can bring me to that space, which has brought me back to why I like reading, because reading the right books that I kind of intuitively feel called to read, doing the movement I feel like doing, and it just literally puts a lens on your life where everything feels like a bright sunny day. And again, I don't live here all the time, but it is, I love to think of it as my calibration and where I come back to because it is so incredible. However, life, I think it's when we give ourselves permission to know that we can have highs and we can have lows, but we can come back to this feeling of wholeness despite it all, and feel how powerful and how much energy and vibration we actually possess, and how much the body can actually heal itself, and how we can help to heal each other by meeting each other in these vulnerable places to feel whole again. So, my invitation to you is do something maybe outside your norm. Mine started with meditation, um, or book a Reiki session, or go to a sound bath, do something that you're like, I don't understand it, or I maybe don't there's not a like personality or a lifestyle or anything that you need to be in to attend these things either. And if it's not a fit for you, try a different one or try a different tool, but pop on to a kundalini yoga class, do something that makes you come back into your body in a place that allows you to feel. And I will say in the beginning, I did need to meet myself first. Um, I think for me, part of it was I didn't feel like anyone else knew what I was going through because I was going through something that felt very unique. Now I understand that no matter what, I can hold a circle of for women. We're all different ages, all walks of life. We all have different families or whatever it might be, but we can all hear each other and support each other and resonate. But um, I did need to meet myself first just with meditation and that practice built and that shifted some things in my life, and then I tried something new, and eventually it led me to some rooms with beautiful humans that could hold space and make me feel comfortable being uncomfortable with parts of myself, and so yeah, I think if there's anything, it's just do something to pull yourself off autopilot, something that will bring you back into your body, remind you of your power, um, so that we aren't just waiting for either the next thing to happen, but rather creating it by just coming back into our heart and our body and our wholeness and our spirit. Um, there is just so much power and so much life-changing things when we can give ourselves permission to remember what we actually embody, what loving fiercely feels like, what doors open to feeling so amazing, but also being allowed to meet ourselves on the journey of the highs and the lows and still let ourselves feel so amazing. Because when you can return to your heart, to your own energy, to your own light and embody it, you get to walk through life just in this whole other vibration and resonance. And like I said, I wish I could put it in a jar for you, but instead, all I can do is put it in this podcast episode for you and hope that that allows you to receive the energy I put out, um, the love and the vibration that you are a light, that you deserve to feel as good as I get to feel in these moments, and that you don't need it, doesn't need to be a big religious practice, but to just trust, and it'll bring you home to your heart, home to your intuition, home to your power, and home to your ability to truly create the life and the relationships and the connections that will support you being in that sensation and that feeling more than you need to be in the rooms with the masks and the protectors as much as we love them for what they do for us, um, just allowing ourselves to love fiercely and trusting that we will land softly. I can't wait to just sprinkle that energy out as I post this and know that I'm always just a message away. You can find me on socials or on my website, aligned holistic health and wellness.com, sending you so much love until we get to meet again. I thank you for listening to this. I'm really grateful that I was guided and supported and that my heart just kind of allowed me to land here and speak to where I've got to be and where I want you so much to be able to join me. So much love until we meet again. Peace and love.
